2024.05.14 19:26 Fickle-Lavishness-41 My experience with SM Global Package in Japan for Taemin

Hi everyone!
I wanted to give a detailed review of my experience with sm global package for taemin’s metamorph concert in tokyo at the nippon budokan. I am months delayed in posting this (thanks to grad school) but I initially wrote it out of post-concert depression prior to returning to the states back in March.
buying the global package, twin ver:
the package was announced sometime in december 2023 if im not mistaken and I stayed up until midnight (pst) on 1/22 to book a twin package for ‘course c’ which was 2N3D (sunday concert 3/10) for my friend and I. The packages that included all three nights (5D3N) of the show sold out the quickest, but there were still packages available for individual show days. As a tip to make things easier, make sure to have your friends’ passport info to input in advance so the booking goes easier if you are booking a twin package. If you are the one making the booking, make sure to have the global package app downloaded as they will send you notifications along the way about day of show schedule, merch preorder, etc. They ask that you relay this info to your partner when you purchase a twin package, as you are the primary reservation holder. You also cannot split the cost while booking, it must go on one card through paypal. When booking, you have the option to request extending your stay at the hotel through sm c&c, but since we were planning to go to Kyoto after the concert, we just checked out the day after the concert as planned. Also we didn’t have any ACE memberships, but if I remember correctly, you can enter that info to get an exclusive MD benefit.
merch preorder:
Prior to arriving in Japan, we got a notification at around 6pm pst on 2/28 (11 days prior to the show) with our exclusive merch preorder links which went live at midnight that same night. The prices were in yen and you pay using paypal. I had no problem getting the MD I wanted, however since there were limits on the amount of MD you could purchase (including the 2 different pins, which were 1 per order) I had to ask my friend if I could purchase an additional pin through his MD preorder link since there were 2 different pins in this specific concert MD. The day of the show (3/10) at around 10am, we picked up the MD we preordered with ease and pulled our concert seat tickets and received our global package exclusive gift (a mag safe wallet) and let the staff know which transports we would be taking (round trip bus or one way to/from the venue). I was a ljttle disappointed in the global package benefit MD as I had seen what the metamorph show in Korea had received (I think it was a handwritten letter from Taemin and a little lego figurine of him 🤧). Everything was smooth and efficient. Even after the concert, I was able to get into the MD line to purchase more, even though most of the MD was sold out.
checking in/out of the hotel & hotel review:
We stayed at the Hotel Monterey Hanzomon which was really close to the venue and across the street from the Hanzomon subway line, so it was very accessible by public transit. My friend and I both flew into Haneda and it took a little less than an hour to get to the hotel from the airport via public transit, but after a 12.5 hour long flight it was exhausting. When I asked the people at the airport if there was an airport limousine to the area, they said it wouldn’t take me close enough to the hotel and recommended I take the subway. We had met a few people in line for the MD pickup who said that we (allegedly) had a nicer hotel than those who did the NCT 127 global package for their Tokyo dome show (same weekend) but all in all, Hanzomon was an economy hotel with nothing to write home about. I will say the breakfast buffet included was really nice and I’m glad we didn’t skip out on it. When we checked in the day before the show, we just showed our passports and checked in like any other hotel. In the lobby there was a whiteboard with all of the concert info (opening times for md pickup, bus schedules, and concert schedule) displayed in english, korean, chinese, and japanese. I was a little bummed to find out that the concert (which took place in the middle of the afternoon) was only going to be an hour and a half maximum, even though NCT’s concert was almost 4 hours (!!!) in length.
day of show:
We had breakfast in the lobby around 8:30/9ish then after that we got to the sm desk at 9:45am to pick up our md and pick our tickets for the show (thanks to the tip from another fan on reddit, well worth getting there a little before the booth opened). I did notice the ACE membership MD benefits were nice, but neither me nor my friend have any fanclub memberships. It was relatively straightforward, they checked our passports and handed us a lanyard that acted as our bus pass and then one person per twin package picks the pair of tickets at random (in sets of 2 so you sit with your friend) and we got seats in section A3 (floor) which were great. They asked us if we wanted a seat on the bus ride round trip or one way and we originally said only one ride to the venue, but my friend decided to take the bus back too once we got to the venue so we notified the SM staff and they added us to the roster for the ride back easily. When we got to the venue (an hour and a half-ish before doors) they escorted us to the front and we were let in immediately. The efficiency was incredible. They didn’t check my bag prior to entering like how they would for a concert in the US so I didn’t bring a water bottle into the venue but thankfully they had vending machines inside and concessions on the top levels of the venue. We also went to a booth upstairs to pair our lightsticks for the show, since the Japanese Shinee Lightstick app is only available for Japanese phones, so we showed our ticket locations and they were able to calibrate. The show was short yet sweet, we did not see anyone ejected for taking photos/videos but we were too scared to risk it. If you are caught filming or taking photos they will make you delete the photos/videos and kick you out with no sign of return, but I think because it was the last day and we were in the middle of a crowd, it was a little easier to get away with. There was a sadness in the air because it was Taemin’s last concert as a soloist under SM, but overall the show was incredible. One thing of note though is Japanese audiences are very quiet, they tend to clap rather than scream in between songs and there were times where you could hear someone from the rafters sneeze and it would resonate, so be prepared for that cultural difference. We still screamed when it felt appropriate to do so and the fanchants were loud but it was definitely strange to be golf clapping in between songs, especially in comparison to shows in the US where fans are barking 💀. It was nice to be able to hear Taemin speak uninterrupted during the ments, without pick-me fans interjecting their screams. He spoke exclusively in Japanese and there was no translator so we were left to guess what he was saying. A K-fan next to us was live Papago-ing his ments to Korean and I would peek and read what the translation was. Also shout out to this lovely K-shawol because she let my friend borrow one of her lightsticks! Once the show ended, everyone queued up to leave the venue in an orderly fashion and we cleaned up any trash we saw and we went out to the MD booth to buy any last minute MDs before going to the bus. On the bus, they gave us each a (unthemed) bag with some strawberry cookies and a waterbottle and we had a fun time air-dropping photos and videos from the show with other (braver) global package attendees. Everyone we met was so lovely and everything about the global package went very smoothly and efficiently.
closing thoughts:
the day after the show, we took advantage of the free breakfast and checked out with ease. The SM C&C staff left the whiteboard in the lobby and left a nice note for us and we wrote our thank yous on there. Overall, the package cost was $1559 for 2 people ($779 ea, 2 twin beds for 2N3D) and even though it was pricey it was so worth the convenience of not having to try to buy tickets locally, which I heard sold out entirely during fan club presale. Please note that this cost did not include airfare or transit to/from the airport. The concert coincided with my spring break and Taemin is one of my ults, I just wrote a paper on him for grad school so it was a no brainer, I had to be there no matter what lol. I was a bit disappointed in the lack of theming (I heard the concerts in Korea come with themed rooms, themed snacks, etc) and the lack of transportation to and from the airport (which I heard is sometimes an option for shows in Korea and would have been a great benefit). But otherwise the hotel was clean and convenient (a little small, but that’s how it is normally in an economy hotel in Japan), breakfast was good, SM staff were helpful and nice, and we made some new Shawol friends in the meantime :)
overall, I would absolutely book with global package again, but I would definitely want to see a show in Korea to compare the benefits. It was an unforgettable experience to be apart of the pearl aqua ocean 💎
if you have any questions ask away! prior to booking this package, I took the advice of another fan under and it was really helpful so I wanted to offer any insight based off my experience.

2024.05.14 19:26 MoeKids11 DNUT. What you all think about this stock? McDonald’s is going to start serving Krispy Kreme donuts. I believe this is at its low.

consensus price target of US$16.67, with the analysts implicitly confirming that the business looks to be performing in line with expectations, despite higher forecast losses. There's another way to think about price targets though, and that's to look at the range of price targets put forward by analysts, because a wide range of estimates could suggest a diverse view on possible outcomes for the business. Currently, the most bullish analyst values Krispy Kreme at US$22.00 per share, while the most bearish prices it at US$13.00. There are definitely some different views on the stock, but the range of estimates is not wide enough as to imply that the situation is unforecastable, in our view.

2024.05.14 19:23 GABAAPAM Perion Network (NASDAQ:PERI). Cash equivalent to 75% of market cap

I wanted to share a company that caught my attention and I've been looking into lately.
It's Perion Network, an Israeli-based AdTech company specializing in online advertising and search monitoring services, with revenue segmented into: CTV, DOOH, Video and Search.
The attractive of this company is, that in my opinion, it has been severely punished by the market due to the downward revenue forecast adjustment of the search section, which depends on a contract this company has with Microsoft and its search engine Bing.
In FY2023, revenues from this category (search) were ($344.91M), a 33% increase from FY2022 ($279.56M). Projected guidance for FY2024 at the end of 2023 was revenue of ($860-$880M) and EBITDA of ($178-$182M).
In Q1, revenues were split between Search ($82M) and Advertising Solutions, which integrates revenues from the other areas ($75.8M). In this quarter, video category revenues fell by (52%) YoY, while DOOH and CTV increased by (25%) YoY and (108%) YoY respectively. As mentioned earlier, the company reported a decline in search advertising activity due to recent changes in advertising pricing and mechanisms by Microsoft Bing, hence, the company has cut its FY2024 expectations to revenues of ($590-$610M) and EBITDA of ($78-$82M).
This guidance cut has caused a roughly 40% drop in stock price.
I believe the market is excessively punishing this company; currently, Perion has a cash balance of ($479.7M) and its market cap, considering diluted shares (50,600,750) at a price per share of ($12.52), is ($633.52M). Perion has no debt but it's relevant to note ($73.7M) in short-term payment obligations related to acquisitions.
Taking this into account, the market is valuing Perion's business at ($153.82M), which means Perion's business is valued at an EBITDA multiple of x2.8 and x0.38 of revenue approximately.
In my opinion, risks are associated with the realization of pricing changes in Bing, which, according to management, will be reflected from Q2 onwards, the deterioration of the video section (which, according to the company, in response to a question from the earnings call, will decrease by the end of Q2 and return to normal growth in Q3), the sustainability of CTV and DOOH growth, as well as the company's capital allocation (with the danger of overpaying for acquisitions).
They are currently completing a share repurchase of ($75M), which will be finalized by the end of May.
This is my first post of this kind, and I would like to emphasize that I am posting to share this idea and I’m not focusing too much on the numbers as I believe there are analysis done by much more competent people like Sandeep Nital David and Atlanticus Capital (I recommend reading their analysis on Perion available on Seeking alpha).
Disclosure: I hold a long position in Perion Network

2024.05.14 19:19 sk420_ baldeagle's proposal regarding P2P trading matrix room

https://ccs.getmonero.org/ideas/ https://repo.getmonero.org/monero-project/ccs-proposals/-/merge_requests/462
has been discussed a bit today in the #monero-community matrix channel: https://libera.monerologs.net/monero-community/20240514
overall: price asked is way to much even tho having to deal with disputes and a few more things can be very time consuming 1 individual rather than a team... without escrow... that could lead to many many scams which would be just too much for just 1 dude, just sayin.. like, scams happen all the time especially at the start before all the people got time to grind that reputation thing
but aside those few points that would need to be thought a bit more.. well i guess it's pretty much ded cause seems like he "wont do for $20-30 per hour" it's still something that could be very beneficial to the community P2P trades been around since even bitcoin with like d2jsp that is still around, with their own currency "forum golds" (shorten to "fg") and it's still going stronk af to this day, like, people still trade in games items for that forum currency
sidenot fun fact, ceo of kraken jesse powell started his buisness with selling in game items (that are still to this day sold on the d2jsp forums by people still playing the video game)
and as it was talked about, Haveno users need to already have monero (for the deposit fee) to buy monero, that's a catch 22 to actually onboard new people... so the P2P trading room could definitely be somewhere to send people that have like zelle, revolut, SEPA or whatever people be using but dont have even have a monero for themselves just yet
so overall, great idea definitely something that could be heavily beneficial to the ecosystem.. but imo should do it more like neroshop is doing: https://github.com/layters/testshop
Disclaimer: The neroshop team is comprised of a single developer that operates independently and is not affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with the Monero project, Monero team or any other organization.
which as mentioned in #monero-community a ccs would be kind of an official endorsement, which may not be the best thing
definitely would appreciate seeing it going forward but defnitely need more people involved than just 1 dude, what yall redditors be thinking?

2024.05.14 19:07 No_Bike2057 Is anyone even hiring here anymore? What's the use of high rates if that reduces my scalability?

Just need a little motivation I guess. I've been posting for ages here. Usually I get clients from other places so it goes well but I've seriously been wondering if this place has any use anymore of posting for stuff.
How do you guys manage to get clients on reddit?
I'm thinking of shifting entirely to other strategies that work.
Over the last 2 years, I've barely gotten 3-4 clients from here.
And everyone wants writers to pump up their prices "so they get what they deserve".
Well what if no one wants to buy at this rate?
Yesterday I posted an offer for $20 for the first article followed by 0.8 cents per word and that got accepted by the bot but later the HireAWriter team got rid of the post citing it as "confusing"
How am I supposed to make a conversion on this place if I'm not allowed to make good offers to clients? Cause its clear no one wants to get articles written for 10 cents per word on tech in bulk.
I get the clients and I don't mind negotiating on lower rates but come on.

2024.05.14 19:05 Metatroubleshooter We solved our Meta conversion campaigns this way after horrible quarter

So we have had serious conversion problems as many before us had and after reading that most companies struggle the same way one of my companies have struggled i wanted to share how I solved our campaigns:
Business: E-com, luxury interior design products Price range: $19-199 per product Market: Europe, US and UAE
Ad spend $300-1000/day depending on results.
I also want to share that i have another business which has not at all been affected by this total ad-fuck up that Meta has been having, however the goal is lead and we use a form in that business, not the same conversion goal as this business which has purchase as conversion goal. The other business is also contra cyclic and does better in bad times than good times which is not the case with this company.
Ad set up before the crash was simple, we did not use much adv+ and did mostly exclude everything except feed and stories which we found delivered most conversions. We used 2 ad sets one for 9:16 ads and one for 1:1 ads. Very broad, all countries in each ad set. No interests. Female only.
We use lots of creatives and different copy. We invest a lot of time in our ads and i recommend you all to do the same.
When the crash hit we started changing our creatives and copy but nothing helped. After a while we stopped our campaigns all together and started testing new ways, adv+, all formats, engagement campaigns, traffic, switching to add to cart and checkout as conv. Goals but nothing gave. Our cost per conv increased from $30 to $300 at the highest and we started loosing a lot of money.
The solve, CBO 6 ad sets (funnel) Conv. Goal=purchase
Top funnel (2 ad sets, 9:16 +1:1) Feeds and stories both fb & insta. 4-6 engaging ads to drive interest. Video and images mixed. Loosers get cut off, winners stay. No ads with discounts, we dont want to engage discount hunters. Female only Exclusions: add to carts, initiated checkouts & purchase 60 days. Video views. This entire funnel is building on with new potential customers only.
Mid funnel (2 ad sets, 9:16 + 1:1) Feeds and stories both fb and insta. Audience, website traffic, content views, Instagram + fb engagement, video views. Exclusions, add to carts + purchase 30 days. 4-6 ads. Ad mix, engaging ads and discounted products.
Bottom funnel (2 ad sets, 9:16 + 1:1) Feeds and stories both fb and insta. Audience, add to cart, initiated check outs. 4 ads. All ads are product focused. 3/4 with discounts. Catalogues are added as enhancement for 1:1 ads.
Our ad account is back to normal and we have our business back finally. Please note that we do not use any of Facebook’s ultra crappy ai tools, my experience is that this is just a way to give Meta your money for nothing in return. They are basically using you as beta testers for their algorithms which are full of bugs and issues and you are actually paying them for it. Do not do this.
We have now been scaling successfully for a while and do see drops when scaling but the conversion cost has been going down after a few days and stabilizes again.
I hope this solution works for anyone else, let me know if it did, it would really make my day and this post was then worth the time it took to write it.
Stay strong and positive 💪

2024.05.14 19:05 tabmaster09 Internal competition and negatively trending hours

I'm a freelance consultant. I have three primary clients and a few other ancillary clients. Each of my primary clients provide 15-25 hours of billable work per month and my ancillary clients provide 0-5 hours of work per month. My expertise is in a small niche so the addressable market isn't huge. Maybe 20 potential clients at any given time. I primarily provide subject matter expertise and management/strategy related services.
Lately, I've noticed that my hours for my primary clients are being scaled back. I haven't received any negative feedback on my work from the CEO/Decision makers, but I have heard rumblings from my counterparts that my services are too expensive (my rates are below market) and they have alluded that they can do everything internally. Honestly, they probably can, but the quality of the work and analysis will decline. I have a great relationship with the decision makers, but it seems the internal messaging is hard to overcome in this case.
I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if you have any tips for overcoming these obstacles.
Also, from a macro perspective, I'm expecting a decline in billable hours over the next couple years because my work is tied to financing big projects. Along those lines, I'd love to hear from others on how you scaled up your client base during times when people are seemingly scaling back. At-risk contracts, reduced rates, bundled products/services with fixed prices? It feels like I need to diversify, but I'm also known for my skill set in this niche.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

2024.05.14 18:59 hrm_2005 Legal question about half lease horse agreement

I am half-leasing a horse and signed a 1-yr lease to pay a specific amount per month. The lessoowner recently emailed all lessees at the barn, informing us that they have to raise the price of our monthly leases by $45, due to a significant increase in the cost of hay. Of course no one is happy about this, but no one is willing to speak up. This violates the lease agreement, which is a legal contract. I’m worried that if I speak up and say this is a breach of contract and say that I’m not willing to pay the extra, the cost will end up being buried into something else, like coaching or trailering fees to a show, and worse, they might take it out on our daughter who rides the horse. Is it worth speaking up about $45/month (total $225 to the end of the lease term) or better to leave it alone? It’s an expensive sport, so what’s another $225 to keep the peace attitude? I’m having a hard time accepting it, as it’s just not right in my opinion, and is a terrible business practice, but that’s what my husband thinks we should do. Thoughts?

2024.05.14 18:59 Chi2Oak What are best practices on LLC to C Corp conversion (as well as personal capital investment) to mitigate tax liability?

Hello there, I'd love a CPA or experts assistance in determining how best to proceed with my startup LLC to C Corp conversion. I founded it in 2022 and am working on filing tax returns for both 2022 and 2023 (extensions). Below are two options presented by my lawyer. Which should I choose if I'm optimizing for tax liability mitigation? I've invested ~72K in personal capital in the biz since 2022. The biz has only yielded ~10K in revenue thus far, with $30K in ARR since its a subscription model. Trying to solidify prelim Cap Table with new members of the Founding Team as well.
From lawyer:
"How have you documented the $73K in the tax returns? Since your co is a single member LLC, owned by you, it’s a pass thru disregarded entity for tax purposes, so it passes through to you.
The cap table is helpful to understand the goal. The main issue now is figuring out the fair market value of the equity, which depends on the financials. There are a couple of options high level – both not easy with their own pros and cons. The numbers are assumptions and used for illustration purposes.
My colleagues and I discussed a few other options such as you selling your interest in the LLC, but if it’s a low price, you’d be selling at a loss and it doesn’t really look good to future investors. This is due to the issue of valuation – the company has been operating and is generating value.
Currently you’re the owner of your LLC, so you hold the decision making power, particularly if you’re fronting the costs of the business. We can use options instead, but the question remains – what’s the value of the interests? That’s determined by the financials of the business, capital accounts, etc.
Is the CPA helping you with figuring out capital accounts? What does the books say?"
What do you suggest in terms of how best to convert from an LLC to a C Corp and treat the personal capital investment? A reimbursable loan? Shares in the new Corp? THANKS in advance for your help, and YES I do need to hire a CPA so it's a good opportunity :)

Conduct Thorough Market Research

Before diving into the product launch process, it's crucial to conduct thorough market research to identify lucrative opportunities and understand your target audience's needs and preferences. Analyze competitor products, customer reviews, and market trends to uncover gaps in the market and refine your product offering for maximum appeal.

Optimize Product Listing

Optimizing your product listing is essential for maximizing visibility on Amazon. Start by crafting compelling product titles that include relevant keywords to improve searchability. Utilize high-quality images that showcase your product from multiple angles and provide clear, accurate descriptions highlighting key features and benefits.

Leverage Amazon PPC Advertising

Amazon Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertising is a powerful tool for boosting visibility and driving targeted traffic to your product listing. Create strategic PPC campaigns targeting relevant keywords and demographics to reach potential customers actively searching for products like yours. Continuously monitor and optimize your campaigns to maximize ROI and ensure cost-effectiveness.

Utilize Enhanced Brand Content (EBC)

Take advantage of Amazon's Enhanced Brand Content (EBC) feature to enhance your product listings with rich multimedia content such as videos, images, and enhanced product descriptions. EBC not only helps differentiate your brand but also improves conversion rates by providing shoppers with a more engaging and informative browsing experience.

Implement Strategic Pricing Strategies

Pricing plays a significant role in influencing purchasing decisions on Amazon. Conduct pricing analysis to determine the optimal price point for your product based on factors such as competition, perceived value, and profit margins. Consider offering promotional discounts or bundles to incentivize purchases and attract bargain-seeking shoppers.

Cultivate Positive Reviews and Ratings

Positive reviews and ratings are crucial for building trust and credibility with potential customers on Amazon. Encourage satisfied customers to leave authentic reviews by providing exceptional customer service and delivering high-quality products. Respond promptly to customer inquiries and address any issues or concerns to maintain a positive brand reputation.

Leverage Social Media and Influencer Marketing

Harness the power of social media and influencer marketing to expand your reach and drive traffic to your Amazon product listings. I’m quoting LA fitness. quote help?
How would you guys go about cleaning these types of buildings? it’s a brick type of building, so I’m guessing you would use 3% SH. Im guessing most of the building isn’t that dirty though, so would you throw sh on the whole building and just rinse? Thats gonna be like 200$ worth of bleach lol
The SQFT is 35,000. Price per sqft for this one?
They also mentioned that they wanted all 13 stores cleaned. Most of them are similar size so I’d probably just got with 1 price to secure the account
I really appreciate the help whoever helps me with this one!!!

2024.05.14 18:52 Correct_Sometimes How do you guys blow off steam when a customer screws you over?

mostly just venting here but holy fuck I'm so heated right now it's insane.
I'm a sub who bids to millworkers primarily(solid surface). One millworker in particular is a very good customer. They're a pretty decent size company and have 4 project managers. 3 of them are great. 1 of them is an absolute fucking shit show. This dude is incredibly forgetful for a guy who's supposed to be a PM at a high end millworker. He's very much the face of that meme/joke where one persons lack of preparation should not suddenly become your emergency. He's good for "I forgot to send you this job how fast can you get it done?" on a semi-regular basis.
This guy had us make him a mock up for a project we have under contract with him. As far as we knew, the mock up was fine and everything is cool. Then he emails me and says "here's the updated shop drawings and your quote, I believe you have everything covered but we are now changing detail, please provide a change order for this"
I send the change order. a few weeks go by and we start doing the job and realize something is off. what they're asking for is requiring about $2000 more in materials than I ever figured. Come to find out, that detail previously mentioned was not the only change from the mock up. So i go back to him and ask, what happened here? the project was quoted like this per the architectural's, the mock up was made the same, and now the project is being done differently, to the tune of $2000 in materials? "I sent you the drawings and told you to update the pricing, if you missed that it's on you. It's not my job to point out the changes" is the response i got.
You sack of shit mother fucker you specifically told me what to change and that it was the only the change. I wish I could post the drawing I was sent without potentially doxing myself just to show how buried the new dimension in question was. If I didn't think it was pure stupidity and forgetfulness on his end, I'd think he was trying to sneak it by me on purpose. so of course now he refuses to pay for the additional material because I "missed" it and he can't submit another change order for it himself. Did I "miss" the fact that 1 dimension changed? apparently. but I was 100% misled by an absolute chode
