Minutes feel like entire hours while I wait for GalaxyTaco to return, and my anxiety is just mounting up like crazy! So instead of becoming a victim of my own fear, I decide to take a moment to explore the forum and see what I can find that's interesting!

The Sleeper section is by far the most active, with people commenting on their daily lives, talking about media, food and experiences in general. It’s so casual it almost makes me feel nostalgic for the good ol’ days!

I am… surprised. Mages watch anime too? I guess that makes sense, as magic is usually viewed as an intellectual endeavor, and it is not rare for intellectuals to have this sorta hobby.

Right! The Translation section! It’s rather unused, compared to the Sleeper side of it all. There are a few active translation topics but all of them seem to be focused on actual, current languages. Sure, there are a few in old Helenian and Latin but the others are surprisingly modern. Thereare some in Wohlian that immediately get my attention, but they seem like finished works.

Mostly directed by that ‘souseiseki’ bitch.

That is a good point. Once they are fully translated, the material is left available for anyone to take it! So I immediately go for the ones in Wohlian and Dobrand.

There are only five texts available, biographies all of them… except for what looks like a flier.

‘El Arte del Contrahechizo’ it read in Hesperian, ‘The Art of Counterspell’ in Dobrand. It apparently was an advertisement for a short lived ‘Combat Spell Course’ in Hesperia? Closed by the ‘Brotherhood’ for ‘breaking the sanctity of the secret’. Maybe this ‘Brotherhood’ is somewhat related to the cloaks.

Nevertheless, there is something in the flier that interests me: a Symbol!

I immediately start looking for it in the book… and what I find was overwhelming. This has to be the single most used symbol I’ve seen so far! It is in a lot of combined words, almost never on its own… but after keeping my eyes narrowed for a while, I find it.

Feeling energy surging through my body again, I immediately get up again and look for clothes, fishing for some cash and then trotting out of my room… only to be stopped by that Saints damned door again.

I swear, every time I see it’s worse. It becomes more and more ominous with each attempt to pass through it. I really, really have been going out too much these days, huh…?

Walking back to the computer, I internally beg for GalaxyTaco to not have appeared on my contact list yet… but alas, fate is always working against me. There he is, right there. Well, at least I can solve this quickly and still get out in time… Maybe.

Alright.

No more excuses. I close my computer, take a deep breath and walk to my door. I try my best to ignore the shaking of my hand as I grab the knob and open up. The air in the hallways outside was cold, making me go back in, pick up my long coat and then right out I went again!

The descent in the elevator had never felt this slow…I am excited and nervous at the same time.

“This will be fun!”

“This will be a disaster. You’ll stay up for nothing, you hear me? Nothing.”

Taking a deep breath, I walk out of the elevator as it arrives at the first floor and wave at the night guard, stepping right out and checking my phone.

It’s already a quarter past eleven. I have time… but I may need to call a taxi.


Cities are completely different at night. I have never been an active resident of Party City or anything, but I have been in the streets at the high hours of night, at least back in my old town. I assumed stuff would be quiet here too in Saüle, but turns out I was completely wrong. There were people stumbling around the streets, ladies of the night smiling and parading themselves in some of the corners, a few college students clubbing and singing…

Only now I remember we are technically on vacation. Of course everyone is partying!

The taxi leaves me in front of the University’s main entrance. After paying and waving the guy away, I let out a deep sigh of relief when I see that the lights of the place are still on.

So either they leave the lights on all vacation or they are still open despite it all.

I try to jog along the dirt trail, straight for the library! But I quickly realize my body is simply not made for running. I still try to keep the pace, panting and gasping for air. Passing right by the Pharmaceutical Sciences building and the Biology building, feeling lucky that no one can see me fighting for my life like this.

The campus is gigantic, with many different buildings focused on the different sciences and disciplines taught at the University. The Library stands in the middle of it all, a perfectly square, five story building comfortably constructed on a plateau and looking over the entire campus. As cool and impressive as that is, it also meant a long climb a massive set of stairs…

“Saints damn it all…”

It’s a miserable jog, but eventually, I make it to the gates before the Librarian closes. An ancient lady of dark skin and thin white hair, eternally dressed in a black, long dress.

“Hmph. Right on time, night owl.” She says with a mix of annoyance and playfulness in her tone, turning her back on me as soon as she closed the door. “Do not run like that inside.”

Still recovering my breath, I just nod and walk towards the machines that scan your credentials. I fish my wallet out of my pockets, scan my old card, and then walk straight in, looking around the main hall with a tired smile. Ah yes… I've always felt more at ease in libraries and the like, especially when there are no crowds of people around. Right now I could see only a few furtive shadows sliding around, and no sandwich sellers at all! With some luck, the librarian will try to gain a few extra Empires by selling stuff, but that will have to wait.
Right now, we are back on the hunt for the Golden Symbol! I need to focus all of my strength on finding it this time, because if they really want it to be both private and easy to find, it has to be here.

Having Fun with Your Collection

Here are some ideas about how to explore your collection and/or connect with the indie community that do not involve spending:

• Re-organize your collection. If you have a lot of samples, separate the ones you haven’t tested yet, the ones you want to destash, and the ones you’d like to keep/upgrade.
• Start a collection spreadsheet. Here is an example!
• Start an indie journal. Make note of which indie products you use every day. At the end of the month/season/year, tally up your “biggest hits” and share them on IMAM or another community.

"Shopping" without Spending

If you find that the act of shopping and submitting orders is hard to resist, you might consider trying one of the following strategies:

Hi Reddit, I have a question regarding a huge issue going on in our neighborhood regarding a community garden in the state of Ohio. I submitted a plan to establish a community garden in our HOA protected neighborhood after doing ample amount of research, meeting with landscape companies for recommendations, putting out multiple messages to the neighborhood asking for feedback, built an entire business plan with costs, location idea, how it would get funded, maintained for years to come, etc. HOA had a few questions regarding permits, maintenance, etc. I had a plan for everything.
The plan was approved through or management company, an email of the official approved plan went out to every single neighbor, and the project started. Fast forward to a few weeks after, HOA is contacting me about an angry neighbor who is claiming the space we chose is where his kids play. News to me. He had ample opportunity to state his claim and I objectively would've taken that into consideration. He's gathering a team of people on his street to now write the board to demand we completely move the garden, and people are pissed. He's also bullying one of the board members, and this guy is offering to move it for me at the suggestion of THEIR ideal location (using our HOA funds), which takes more time, and we don't even know if people will oppose the new spot too. It's damn near becoming a turf war.
Some TLDR notes:

• Garden plan/location was fully researched, vetted, and shared through multiple channels before approval by both the HOA board and management company.
• One neighbor is opposed to the location and starting a brigade against it. Claiming kids play sports in the spot.
• Number of people I've surveyed who have lived here 10+ years say they've never seen kids play there.
• One board member (who is friends with this guy) is trying to now go back on his decision and offer to move it.
• Project is about 75% complete.
• The main person in opposition was seen pacing outside my house yesterday. It's becoming very concerning.

What are my rights here? Our bylaws state board members make our governing decisions, and modification requests to any property require a formal approval by the board, which I received already.

My (29F) husband (40M) wants to sell our family home. What do I do?

I'm in need of some advice regarding my current marital situation and the potential sale of our home. To give you the full picture, I'll start from the beginning. Apologies for the length, but I feel all the details are necessary to understand the context.
I (29F) met my husband (40M) on Tinder four years ago. We dated for about eight months when my family had an opportunity to purchase a property. My then-boyfriend was also looking to be involved in a business deal of that sort, and he was interested in having his name on the property as well. My father supported this, seeing as how my boyfriend was a physician with a good income, and saw this as a way to bring him closer to our family. The opportunity came quickly, and we all signed the contract to purchase the house.
Trouble began shortly after this. My boyfriend requested that only he and I be on the title of the house, removing the rest of my family, as he saw a future with us and envisioned it as our potential family home. My father was very pleased to hear this and supported it, so we obliged. During this time, the property had increased in value, and I requested the other family members be paid off so we could buy out their shares. My boyfriend declined, feeling it was unfair.
To skim over some details, here are the highlights of the construction: My boyfriend paid more for the down payment than we initially realized would be required. Because of this, he paid no further construction costs. The construction proceeded with debt from my family until the construction loans came through. My family paid for the construction, and my father built the house for us without charging for his management services. My father was displeased with my boyfriend’s behavior and required him to pay more money for the construction due to inflation and the COVID shutdown. My boyfriend declined, and my mother and I secretly took out a line of credit to front the construction costs to my father, pretending it was from my boyfriend. Eventually, as we got the construction loans on a rolling basis after meeting construction milestones, my mother’s line of credit was paid off.
During this time, my family and I wondered why my boyfriend had not proposed. I decided that if he hadn't proposed by a certain time, I would leave him. Fortunately, he did propose on Valentine’s Day 2022. By spring of 2022, construction was coming to an end, and it was time for us to settle into the house. My fiancé felt uncomfortable with how much money he had put into the house and was worried I could leave him and make a profit. I promised him I wouldn’t leave him, but it wasn’t enough. He said he would believe me if I had a child with him, otherwise women would leave men if there were no ties. I told him I would have a child with him right when we got married. He suggested I come off birth control, as it takes months for a woman’s cycle to normalize after being on birth control for many years. I promised him I would come off birth control.
Coming off birth control was more stressful than I realized. I was very hormonal, breaking out, and felt unlike myself. This contributed to my fiancé and I fighting more than usual. In one particularly heated fight, I told him I would go back on birth control and even purchased the pills, but he told me he would break up with me if I did because he wanted to get to know the real me. I conceded, and then something switched in me and I became excited at the possibility of having a baby. I started tracking my cycle and figuring out my ovulation days. I shared this with my fiancé, and on one of those days, we got pregnant. I didn’t find out until the end of summer 2022. When I did find out, I told my fiancé and suggested we should probably get married.
My fiancé's first response was that we should wait to see if the baby sticks, and if it does, then we can plan a marriage but he wanted to wait until February 2023. I was very disappointed and angry and yelled at him. I felt alone and overwhelmed by the thought of having an illegitimate child. After discussing potentially getting an abortion, potentially breaking up, and potentially selling the house, I talked my fiancé into keeping the baby and getting married. He also wanted to keep the baby but was afraid of our situation. After many fights about when to have the wedding, we finally decided on December 2022. At that point, I was four months pregnant. During this time, my fiancé and I had major arguments that therapy couldn’t even remedy. We would yell at each other, slam doors, I would cry, and he would hold himself up in a room for hours. We had nice moments too, but they were heavily clouded over by the bad.
Finally, we got married, and things were good for a while. But then we faced some marital problems. My husband kept separate accounts and managed the finances himself. We had a joint credit card where I could pay for expenses without being questioned. He made all of the major investment decisions and major purchases. If I tried to disagree or speak up, he would get upset because this was not the submissive wife I had promised him I would be. I made significantly less money than him but lived a good lifestyle, buying almost anything I wanted within reason. Coming from a traditional family, I was upset that finances were kept separate. And so it continued that my husband would invest tens of thousands of dollars into our house so that his family from out of town would visit. We live in Vancouver, Canada, but his family is from Ottawa. In hopes of luring his youngest sister (of four) to Vancouver, my husband would make any modification to the house that his youngest sister showed the slightest interest in. This included a hot tub on the rooftop, a media system in the basement, a movie projector, and much more. After said sister got married, she made it clear that she would not move to Vancouver. Then a switch happened in my husband, and he suddenly wanted to sell the house.
Meanwhile, during all this time, I had my baby, and my husband and I were still fighting more than ever. I felt no support from him, and he felt drained by his work, our fights, and being away from his family. Recently, for the past three months, he has been consistently pushing for the sale of our house. This is where my dilemma lies. I am afraid to sell this house because my husband has kept finances separate, and the mortgage on this house has been serving as a way for me to feel secure. My husband contributes a monthly amount on a regular basis. He could have forced a sale in the past but didn’t, instead paying into the monthly mortgage on top of other bills. Now, he is considering forcing the sale of our house, but I am upset that he is citing financing as the issue when I have been begging him to save money instead of spending (his response is that $200,000 does not affect a $2M mortgage, and that he now feels burnt out and wants to retire sooner and live passively). If I agree to sell, I feel unstable about moving from our home given that my husband and I fight so frequently, and I am left alone to take care of the child. It is also worth noting that my parents live right across the street and come over frequently to help with the child, or I would go over to seek their help. My husband says that he feels abandoned and uncomfortable frequently because of our proximity to my parents, but I feel it’s only been helpful because there have been times when I felt truly alone, and my parents were my only solace and support. My husband would ignore me for days, especially when I was postpartum and vulnerable. My parents now see my husband as someone who doesn’t put his wife and child first. My husband says that the massive mortgage we have is too stressful for him, and he can’t take that burden. I am sad that my husband will not consider keeping this house for another three years so that I can get comfortable with the idea of selling the house and that potentially I and my family can all move to Ottawa so that we can allow my husband to be closer to his family. My husband says that he’s tired of the mortgage and feeling forced to work and missing out on spending time with our daughter (his job is very high stress).
I don’t know what to do at this point, Reddit. I’m currently on extended maternity leave, but it ends in six months. My husband and I will have to come to an agreement about the house, otherwise, it is likely that he will force the sale of the house even if I’m not ready to move. I’ve consistently felt rushed and overlooked in this relationship. I am tired of being the small voice that does not impact decision-making. My husband is now being nice to me and trying to show me a good time, but I see it as him turning on his charming mode so that I can say yes to the sale of this house. I’m not sure what to do. Our fights and disagreements are so bad and the marriage feels like doom sometimes (never any physical violence). I sometimes questions even staying with him, but I worry for my daughter. TL;DR:
I need advice. I met my husband four years ago, and we bought a house together with my family's help. Financial disputes caused issues. Despite getting married and having a baby, we fight often. My husband handles our finances separately, spent a lot on the house, but now wants to sell it. I feel insecure about selling because the mortgage is like an investment to me, and also I rely on my parents, who live nearby, for help with our child. My husband feels stressed by the mortgage and feels homesick for his family 3000km away. I feel overlooked in decision-making and am unsure whether to agree to the sale, or to stand my ground and not sell. Sometimes I question staying in the marriage for my daughter’s sake, or is it better give up on this unhappy marriage.

Just started playing val recent. I have about 80-100 hrs now in it while I have 4500hrs in cs. I’ve been solo queuing only. I’m lem in cs (which is like immortal 1, right? Correct me if I’m wrong). But so far I’m stuck silver 3 in Val lol. I’m not used to this level of bad aim/no comms/bad plays from teammates since I play higher ranks in cs and I need to get out of this hell. I often get compliments and accused of smurfing…. But we keep losing! lol i get about 20 kills a game and i try to comm and be a team player but no one is responding or the idea of playing as a team is foreign. I have to take the blame though. Simple fact of the matter is if I deserve higher rank I’d be a higher rank. So I was wondering maybe I should change things up. I decided to start watching pro play last weekend and I’m thinking about maybe instalocking duelist WHICH I HATE WHEN PPL DO… but I need to get out of this elo hell and I can frag (I used to play kayo, brim, skye, reyna). Any advice/agent recommendations would be appreciated. I hate this silver hellhole lol.

Hello all! I've been looking for a year for information and have gotten no where. I just found this reddit so I'm hoping someone can help push me in the right direction. I'm looking for information about my great great grandfather.
My great grandfather, Harry Grover Cleveland Stanley Webb, was born October 1884 in Washington D.C. I've found a little information about his mother, Sadie Groggins, who died in d.c. in 1923. According to Harry's death certificate and a record on Familysearch.org, his fathers name is also Harry Webb born in Ireland. Having a father born in Ireland is also what the census' recorded. I believe Harry and Sadie were married because she referred to herself as widowed with the last name of Webb on a census. She eventually remarried with the last name Winters.
I cannot find any information with a connection to this family that Harry Webb Sr. Existed.
I have reason to believe that there was a small time that Harry Webb Jr did not live in d.c. as a child because his death certificate says he lived in DC for 57 years but his age of death was 59.
Anyway, I would really like to find some information out about Harry Webb Sr. Any ideas? Let me know if more information is needed.

Speculation: Chosen warrior blessed by the gods comes forward in front of the masses and takes out the big baddie. You could make the speculation that the song could reference something to do with DRS (A Perfect Circle) and SHFs bleeding out (counting bodies like sheep).

Speculation: First part DFV knows they (Shorts) have messed around again and have been doing it dirty. The gig is up again, time to close and pay up. The second part is a funny scene from arrested development where Buster, a character who just cannot fit in properly goes AWAL to try and show he has a nasty side, it just comes across as way too far. DFV just poking fun at bears here no doubt.

Speculation: I haven't seen the Town but from reading online this scene showed the amazing friendship between Doug and James when James simply replies, who's car are we going to take? in response to what sounds like a risky ask for help from Doug. Then with Mad Max: Fury Road we have a film about a post apocalyptic survivor in Max Rockatansky who eventually brings down a warlords Citadel (hmmm).

Description: First we have the whistling of Omar from The Wire, then we have a scene from the Kingsmen where they are locked in a pub with Galahad and the quote "Manners maketh man" and finally we have a scene from Oldboy with a big fight scene cut alongside some anime which is from demon slayer
Speculation: The whistling is synonymous with Omar and is to the tune of a nursery rhyme, "the farmer in the dell", anyone that watched The Wire would know instantly that this means Omar is coming and this means you best get out the way as he is coming with his double-barreled shotgun and he certainly won't hesitate to use it. The Kingsmen scene where they are locked in the pub is a particularly violent scene and it's an interesting film to reference, the plot *Film spoiler here* is essentially about a boy named Eggsy from a lower-class neighbourhood who's father dies and he finds out that his father was part of an elite inner circle of upper class. After trying to be part of this group, Eggsy discovers their secret plot to take over the world and takes it into his own hands to save the day. u/ ThePhenomNoku talks about the last 2 referenced films; "So the anime is demon slayer. It’s about a kid who has everything taken from him and trains to learn how to fight demons. Though as a sidenote he kind of carries one around with him. It’s complicated.The other movie with the guy holding the person, & the fight scene is the original Oldboy, and without giving too much of the plot away it’s about a dude who is falsely imprisoned for a couple of years or so, and then enacts his revenge."

We then cut to a film i'm not aware (anyone help here?) of where an older gentleman shows a calculator to a young woman and the calculator says "Just up" on it then the woman says "yes that looks correct"
Speculation: In Oceans 11 there was a lot of planning and variables that had to happen for everything to work. It was a high risk high reward plan with a lot set up to go against but it's possible. The target has always been "just up", DFV just reiterating what he said in the first place.

Speculation: Of course with the loophole stuff it could be about all of the DD that has been done on what has gone on over the years but it could equally be about SHFs finding loopholes to get out of the mess they are in with the stock. The second part the judges clearly don't feel the attempt of the cheerleading or gymnastics piece they are portraying is any good but they are giving it a go and it's suppose to a comedy. Note the school is the cougars, cat links again of course.

Description: The first part is taken from The Batman and has Batman's monologue running and when the Batman signal is fired into the sky, a kitty shadow is shown instead of the Batman logo. It ends with an emphasis on "Fear is a Tool".
Speculation: Batman was of course a good hero who would rid the streets of criminals, they would scare just at the sight of the batman signal being fired knowing that they were about to get wrecked. In this clip, two years has been replaced with three years in the monologue and the kitty signal is of course a nice touch.

Speculation: I think it's best just to give the description of what happens in this scene taken from the fandom page. Elliot chooses to sit down with the friend in the dungeon. He lights a match and reads the note "Don't leave me here." Elliot chooses to stay. The alarm shuts off. An explosion happens nearby. Robot opens the door to find a fire raging outside. He concludes it's too late. Both of them sit down. They each say "I love you." Explosions rage around the room. "It's an exciting time in the world," Elliot says. Fade to red. Take from that what you will.

Description: This scene is taken from the movie Scream (2022), a direct sequel to Scream 4. A lot of the text has been changed but to summarize, one person states "he is making a requel" then there is some talk about the squeeze movie that came out last year and how most people in the actual know hated it and how "squeeze mid" pissed on their "covidhood", how the main character is a mary sue? Then a few cuts of Scream and how real squeeze movies have meta slasher whodunnits and that to some people the original is their favorite thing in the world
Speculation: A requel is A movie which revisits the subject matter of an earlier film but is not a remake or a linear continuation of its plot (i.e. a sequel or prequel). So essentially what is happening right now with the stock is not exactly the same of what has happened before but it is essentially a revisit of the same subject regarding squeezes. A mid squeeze implies that it wasn't as high as the squeeze could have gone and the theme of slashers and murdered people really suggests heads will roll (SHFs hopefully).

There is some cat flashes and images going on and the Woman in this is tagged as a bear (that is someone who is down on a stock or market, usually would short). Candyman talks about how there is no need for the bear to leave yet and that he was obliged to come then he says "be my victim" and a bumble bee comes out of the word be.
Speculation: Time is running out for the bear, they can hang around for a while longer but they will be the victim. This is more of the DFV is coming for you as he dresses himself up as a rampaging murderer targeting the bear in this case. Not sure on the bee, whether that is DFV just having some fun or if it's that a sting is coming in some sense.

Carson continues that Anton could have 14 grand out of an ATM and just walk away before finally stating "do you have any idea how crazy you are?". Anton replies, "you mean the nature of these memes?" to which Carson says "I mean the nature of you!" The scene ends with the phone ringing.
Speculation: DFV putting himself into the mode of Anton from No Country for Old Men is quite the statement. For those who haven't seen this movie, Anton is a wrecking ball of a killer and adheres by his rulebook to seek out different people through the movie to take out. Carson being the desperate short seller here who is not understanding why DFV isn't just playing by the usual financial rules and taking his gains and going. The phone ringing at end could be an implication of margin calls ringing for the desperate short seller.

I just wanted to start this by saying that i LOVED this film. I know I'm a bit late to the trend but it was honestly a not only fantastically gripping storyline, but also a beautifully made film.
However, bearing this in mind, I feel as though there is a lot of ambiguity relating to what actually happened to The Grabber's victims. For example, there is quite a lot of vagueness considering the topic of rape and whether or not The Grabber did in fact SA his victims before killing them.
Why did he keep Vance for so long? Why did he get rid of Robin so much quicker than the others? These are all questions that I have in my head after watching and I am quite literally clawing at the walls trying to find answers. I know that reading the book may perhaps give me the closure I desire, since I know that some detail is implied in the novel about the theme of SA, however, I am not a big reader since I have the attention span of a toddler so I don't think that would work.
During the duration of the film, I noticed many details, especially through the dialouge that hinted to the theme of rape and pedophilia. Some examples include when Finney asks Griffin on the phone "Why hasn't he killed me?" and Griffin replies "You won't play the game." - linking to this, later in the dialouge when Griffin tells Finney that "the next part of Naughty Boy is his (The Grabber's) favorite part." The overall connotations of the title of the game "Naughty Boy" are really just so creepy and I'm assuming that it is a name that The Grabber, himself, has given to the game which somehow makes it so much worse.
Another big part for me is sort of nearer to the beginning of Finney's kidnapping where he has very distorted vision and the diegetic sound is also very distorted perhaps suggesting that he has been unconcious for quite some time. I think this entire sequence could have the implications that Finney was raped while he was unconcious. The fact that when Finney does regain consiousness, The Grabber is just sitting there, watching him. This emphasises this for me.
ALSO! I would just like to say how vile it is how people are SEXUALISING all of this, writing fucking "The Grabber X Reader" and "The Grabber X Finney" fanfictions and that's only an example. It is so confusing to me how ANYONE could even think that any of the content in this film is remotely attractive LET ALONE GOOD ROMANTIC FANFICTION WRITING OR DRAWING OR WHATEVER CONTENT. LIKE WHAT. THE. HELL.
Idek tbh - it's just actual madness to me.
Anyway, honestly, I have no idea about any of this and I just thought I'd post on here to see what other people thought too.

In "Siege of the Ancients: Rise of Defenders" players are thrust into a medieval world teeming with supernatural threats and besieging adversaries. I (19M) grew up in a big family (I was the second oldest of seven). I had an identical twin brother who died when I was young. The rest of my family passed in a house fire a few weeks later whilst I was on a school trip, and I was left in care of my godfather.
My dad was known in our community as a great person. He'd make sure his kids (us seven) followed in his footsteps and succeeded in everything we did. My brothers were good at sports, my sisters too. They were all academically successful too. I was as well, more academically than sport related. I just excelled in different things than my siblings (I played baseball rather than football and basketball, and I was great at science and theory but everyone else was good at English and maths). It was like I was always the odd one out. There was never really any sort of disagreement and argument between us at all and we were all treated fairly equally.
That was about thirteen years ago when they passed. I was recently contacted by the university that my dad used to guest lecture at in his free time. They had an old interview in 2011 (a week or so before he passed) of my dad which he opted to participate in as some students needed it for their assignment.
I watched the video, thinking it was going to be heartwarming and such. But it was the complete opposite. During the video, he was asked if he was proud of his children's achievements. He said he was, but in terms of me, he wasn't. He was disappointed and expected so much more. He said that I should do more than what I 'enjoyed' because it wasn't good enough and it gave him a bad name. He also said that he wished it was Billy (my twin brother) who survived that day not me because he would have been so much more successful. During the interview time, I would have been six.
I just don't really know how to feel or how I'm supposed to feel. When I was younger, I knew I wasn't the same as my siblings but that didn't mean I was failing at anything. In the things I did do, I'd argue I was fairly successful. But hearing that from your own father, about you when you were merely six years old hurts a lot more than ever expected.
I just don't understand how I'm supposed to get past this. I guess it's even harder now that I can't even have a conversation with him as he's no longer around. What can I do to ease the pain I'm feeling from his words? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

A few minutes ago, some people claimed that I was racist due to having a Japanese honorific in my user-tag on Discord (I'm a westerner btw). The reason I'm posting this on the autism subreddit is because this was a group mainly consisting of autistic people, and autistic people generally don't follow, nor expect other autistic people to follow norms very well, leading me to believe that cultural appropriation is a fairly simple concept to follow.
Now, I had never heard the word before this and had only a rough idea of what was appropriate to do as a westerner and what was not appropriate. This was something that I didn't know was offensive, so I started blaming myself for this whole ordeal.
Could anyone explain to me how to not repeat this mistake? I don't wanna do something that I shouldn't do, and I don't wanna stick my nose where it doesn't belong, but I don't understand exactly what's appropriate and what's not. Obviously, you shouldn't go around saying racial slurs, but this is a pretty minor thing that I thought would be easy to forget about.
How do I make sure not to repeat this?
Edit: Just wanted to clarify that I didn't do this to mock Japanese culture. I did it because I just thought it sounded nice just like any other name, but I didn't know that there were cultural boundaries around this stuff. So my intentions were not malevolent.

So, as of late I've been trying out a bunch of heroes to find who I want to main based on a few criteria. Mostly, what fits my play style and how much fun do I have doing it. Immersion is a big one too. But I'm trying to be flexible on that. But I've was a Viking since release with the exception of a few seasons here and there where I wanted to play with a friend and take territories together ya know? But I have full intentions on siding with the faction my main comes from.
Right now, my top contenders are Warlord, Conqueror, Shugoki, and Jorm. But I've found I prefer heroes with a full guard stance because, quite frankly, my reaction time is bad and so it's easier to just guard in one direction every time and block everything. And I prefer heavies because of their survivability and I only like objective game modes and playing for the objectives rather than kills and stuff (I've won so many games solely because I just sat on a point. No one even showed up lol)
So, I have a few questions about some of the other full guard heroes. Namely
Black Prior Valkyrie (though immersion is hard with female gender locked heroes. Hard to look at a female hero and go "this is me" ya know? But again, trying to be flexible) Kyoshin
Not so keen on Varangian Guard or Aramusha because their full guard has to be timed well.
Mainly, are they worth it? What are their strengths and weaknesses? How do they play?
Keep in mind some things I really like about the ones I'm playing now
Warlord: of course his full block stance, even though he's a "defensive" hero I can play him super aggressive. His headbutt is fantastic at dealing with turtles.
Conqueror: basically everything I said about Warlord. I love his infinite chain which is unblockable when they're heavy. The only thing I DONT like about him is his attacks are slow so I just get parried all day if I don't play SUPER defensive. And I prefer aggression.
Shugoki: it's the hugs. Delayed unblockable heavies are good and all, but giving a guy a hug and throwing him on the ground while my team wrecks him for 80% of his HP is great.
Jorm: Jorm is more of a "I want to get good with him" hero. The aggressiveness of Warlord and the disabling abilities of Shugoki, plus an infinite chain if I use his zone right. He's got everything except that full guard stance. So with him it's more that I want to get better at blocking, parrying, and feinting and then get good with him

So I'll get right to the point on this one. I have a bunch of things I like in stories and I wanted to combine them with stories I like, yet... I have so many ideas for where to go and what to do... It's hard to get a grasp on what exactly I should make it on! However... I have had an idea as of recent that i think is super fun. It goes into worldbuilding, character exploration, perhaps romance if wanted, and action! All this taking place in the worlds of either Marvel or DC... although i would be willing to hear out ideas for other series, I do like super heroes though.
So what exactly is this idea? Well, in short, it is about a person being isekai-ed into the body of a character from that universe. Now they have the ability and knowledge to make differences in the plot. I would be playing the isekai-ed character. As for how the story goes... we can decide, however I do have some general ideas. I will say that the main plot will depend on the character we pick to be the one my character is isekai-ed as.
Some examples of this would be: Mdame Hydra now joining the Avengers, maybe even replacing Black Widow, and having Hydra be the main villain. This would make for an interesting dynamic of the Avengers not trusting the new woman and such. On the DC side we have something like... Maybe instead of Wonder Woman we got a very early Power Girl, being able to escape and trying to go to the league for help and getting caught up. Either way, these will lead to interesting what if scenarios!
I also have some ideas for my character, maybe the original personality or mind isn't completely gone from their body, making them have certain old traits and do certain actions they don't mean to. I think that could be pretty darn fun, but we can discuss what we would want with that and my character more later.
Now I went on about my character, but what about yours? Well you have a few options to play. We could say that the timeline got so messed up that a new person entirely is in there, this would be the option for an OC. We could have you be a version of a certain character, like Iron Man or Green Lantern. Or you could GM the plot. I am cool with anything though!
But I will warn you... I like to go in depth with the worldbuilding. So I may start planning things like how long has this team been together? What villains are in the world and have been fought already? What are the team members like? How does the world view super heroes and villains? All stuff like that. Also, not sure if I made this clear before by just saying the universes... This does not have to just be Justice League or Avengers. We could play as the Defenders, Guardians of the Galaxy, Titans, and heck... we can even play as the bad guys! Like Hydra or Lexcorp! I wouldn't be opposed to that!

This may not be a post that is suited to this sub but I have always wanted to know this and Dr K has helped me in a lot of other issues that I have had.
My question is that I am a Football (Soccer) coach and there is a constant phrase that is used " Winning Mentality" I have always been curious about what this is. I have looked through many books and academic articles but I have never found an answer that seems satisfying. It seems like it is just a buzzword that has become a part of sports language.
I have wanted to learn about having a "winning mentality" because I partially want to adopt it and also be able to coach it into my players. The problem I tend to also come across is that when I see a team or athlete with "A Winning Mentality" I can kind of recognise it, that this player or team has what it takes to go far. Its just this weird thing of doing whatever it takes to win and never giving in.
Another problem is that these people tend to have a form of perfectionism that I read is unhealthy but then some people claim that this perfectionism is what makes them great.
Players and Athletes with this mindset:
Conor McGregor, Roy Keane, Wayne Rooney, Kobe Bryant, Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods etc
I have worked in Talent Identification and Scouting, this has always been something that is intriguing to me. I don't know if this post makes an sense but and maybe I am just venting a bit.

So I’ve not kept up with what GameStop is trying to do to keep the franchise alive so excuse me if this idea has already been hashed out; but if someone is out there that is in a decision making position, I thought of this as a decent idea.
Turn all your stores into LAN tournament locations and create a franchise for competitive gaming and streaming.
Every week, or every day, you have tournaments. Entry fee is X amount of dollars per player (or team depending on the game) Every week, month, or quarter, the winners of local winners play other winners from nearby stores. Then every month, quarter, or year have a regional or state tournament.
In addition to the LANs, you can have local people do streams and commentaries on twitch, or create your own platform specifically for tournaments bringing additional ad revenue (potentially)
On top of that, start getting local stores/businesses to cater the events for free marketing for their business. (Tax write offs for them, free stuff for people at the event, increase in local business). And if these local businesses have online shopping, plug them into the streams.
Just an idea, don’t flame me 😄

So after playing this game for 3 months I feel like there is so much more to offer… I am at a point where I’ve got most of the mythic items I was hunting so bad and getting a bit burnt whilst waiting for events to get the last ultimates to smith them.
1) Season Pass - I’ve seen other games do it and I believe this is a great opportunity to offer unique items on a monthly basis through a season pass. After each city you move through a season pass this giving people incentive to play when they have mythic gear.
2) City difficulty - like in events when you play the harder difficulties and it takes longer I’d like to see a harder difficulty selection for cities but with better rewards. Maybe an introduction of seperate leaderboards for different difficulties.
3) Titles - Quite a simple idea but I’d like to see titles underneath your name. For example titles can be unlocked for clearing 50/100/150 cities etc. Have titles for clearing events in certain times etc this is a cool way to customise your account and show off in your club/leaderboards.
4) customization - I’d like to see customization of your EatVenture character, such as skin coloueye colour. Also, I’d like to see customization to items, this could be done through kits that you apply to items/pets to give it a unique look. These could be super rare to get but another reason to keep people opening event chests/club boxes after they achieve “max gear”.
5) Club chat - I’d like the option to speak in my club rather than having to find everyone you share a club with and try and invite them to discord or other chat platforms in order to speak to them. It would be a lot easier to communicate within a club chat.
These are a few suggestions for updates that would personally keep me playing as I’m getting to the point where there is nothing keep me interested in playing long-term.
