I've honestly never been huge into sports games. As a kid I owned a few and bought an NHL 2k game once but that's about it. The most fun I ever had with a sports game was NHL Hitz 2003 with its mode where you could create and customize a whole team and then take them through a fictional lower league before joining the NHL.
I also remember liking the light RPG leveling system in one of the Mario Tennis games on handheld(GBA?). Or just creating characters in WWE/F games, although I'm looking for something more team based.
Are there other sports titles that play like this? If so what are they?

In honor of paper mario day approaching, I am writing a history of the lore of paper mario 64 as I remember it from childhood. (trying to do this from memory, so my apologies if I miss something)
Prologue: The game starts with Mario getting a letter from Princess Peach. She’s like “Hey come to my castle for a party”, so Mario jumps in his pipe that’s connected to “Toad Town” and walks through town, passing the wizard Merlin’s house on the way. After making his way through all the partying Toads, he eventually finds Princess Peach upstairs, evidently taking a break from all of commotion. (She seems to be a bit of an introvert).
The castle starts to shake and Mario and peach look out the window where it is now dark. Princess Peach’s castle has been lifted into the air by Bowser’s castle. It kind of burrowed underneath her castle I guess and then lifted it up with the little weird face hovercraft thing that Bowser has.
Bowser bursts through the window and challenges Mario to a fight (scripted for Mario to lose). Mario is doing okay, dealing 1hp of damage to bowser each turn until Bowser pulls out the Star Rod. This is a powerful wand that the “Star Spirits” who live in “Star Haven” use to grant everybody’s wishes. This wand makes Bowser invincible, so Mario can no longer damage him. Bowser then breathes fire on Mario (dealing 10 damage to Mario which is sufficient to 1 hit KO him from the beginning of the battle) causing him to faint. Then if I remember correctly, Bowser literally flicks Mario out of the window with his index finger and he falls to the ground. (Luckily being made of paper, Mario floats down gently instead of just dying)

However, there are definitely games I now play almost exclusively in Delta due to the convenience. Some things about me is I currently work as a commercial fisherman, I love playing video games. Either on pc, my ps5 and switch. Some games range from Destiny 2, HellDivers 2, animal crossing, any and all Mario and Pokémon games. I love comedy, action, adventure and some anime movies/tv-shows.
I’m a huge animal lover, if you show me pictures of your cat and/or dogs, my heart will automatically be won. I’m a sucker for a furry face. I’m not so much religious anymore. I’m standing at a whopping 6’2-6’3 with brown hair and hazel-ish eyes. I do have facial hair. I tend to grow it out a bit, but then get annoyed and trim it back down. I am certified chef, I work in a food truck with my family during the summers, we used to have our own restaurant where I was the head chef. When it’s not summer, I keep the passion alive by baking and cooking at home constantly.
What I’m looking for is someone between 19-30. But as long as you are 18+ Im more open than most. I’d love someone to be a considerate, passionate, kind and understanding. If you are clingy, needy, or anything like that, you gain a big plus with me. If you actually answer and show an effort to talk to me. And EVEN BIGGER plus. If you have the same interests, or at least some of them, it would help greatly. Being upfront and not sugarcoating things I appreciate. Distance isn’t much of an issue. My GameCube was stolen along with all of my games years ago so now I'm trying games I've never played before. I've been reading up on Sunburn and it seems like the ideal way to play. But do I need to give the original version a try to appreciate it more? I'd really rather not play it twice in a row and since I'm killing my backlog I have no idea if or when id ever revisit the game. So I'm inclined to just go with Sunburn.
And I guess are there any other games on GameCube that have modded versions that are also the ideal way to play?

I am not a beta player so don't know much about what things are called exactly so don't mind me, i have a game play suggestions/ adding a mode to the games minigame, where we are in a 2d platformer where we are turned into mario or heck any time based event where we are needed to complete the challenge within that time, what kuro can do is add a leaderboard system to this where we can compete for the best times in the region/world wide, this could have been running through other people's minds as well but it would be fun and could be something that would make people more hooked to this speedrunner's or other creators might also take interest in this, the best game that imo they can take the inspiration for this would be track mania.
