Graphics card with genlock

I recently upgraded my computer and here are the new parts: • Intel Core i5- 12600K 3.7 GHz 10- Core Processor • Deepcool AK400 66.47 CFM CPU Cooler •ASRock Z690M Phantom Gaming 4 Micro ATX LGA 1700 Motherboard • TEAMGROUP T-Force Vulcan Z 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory • MSI GAMING X GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6 GB Video Card • Thermaltake Smart 600 W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply
Problem: I finally got the pc to boot to the Bios screen but when I try to save and exit, despite having all the default options set, Bios just saves and exits, then returns to Bios upon starting up the pc.
Things I already tried/things you should know: • I have the hdmi plugged into my motherboard • I have 2 drives but currently I have only the storage with windows connected only. • on the “easy mode screen” where it says “boot priority” I only have windows boot manager on the list, so it’s the first and only on on the boot priority list •when going into the boot tab in advanced mode, when going to “boot option priorities”, boot option #1 is missing from under “boot option priorities, so I can’t do anything unless I figure out how to make boot option #1 appear. • I can’t enable csm because it tells me it’s disabled and the only way to enable is to install an external graphics card. In doing so when I put in my graphics card and plugging the hdmi into the graphics card, it will not display.
I’m not sure what else I can do and nothing is working and it keeps going back to the bios screen no matter what I do. Can you guys help?

I started out planning on just building a NAS to run Jellyfin or Plex but as I kept looking into things and remembering some things I realized what I wanted was more akin to a homelab setup. I figured this would be the best place to come for help.
Things I want to accomplish (eventually) with my homelab/network setup:

• Media Storage/Streaming server (Jellyfin or Plex)
• Network Level Ad Blocking (Pi-hole or AdGuard)
• Network Level Firewall (pfSense or OPNsense)
• Local "Cloud" backup (Nextcloud or similar)
• Remote "Workstation" (offload some workloads from my laptop)
• Other common things I'm forgetting to mention or will learn about (DHCP, DNS, VPN, downloads, etc)

Will be located in an armoire (no rack mounting) in my bedroom so noise and heat are major considerations. The armoire's doors will be left cracked open to allow for airflow while keeping pets out (might cut holes in back and/or attach case fans if it gets too hot. I generally run hot so I have fan running almost year round to give example of acceptable noise threshold.
Another note, there would only be a max number 3 +/- 1 users at a time and plan on storing media at high quality (4K, high bit rate, etc) with lossless compression, preferring FOSS codecs like FLAC and AV1.
While my ISP sucks and has a local monopoly and provides sub gig speeds over copper coax, the network gear I already have and will include already has 2.5 Gb RJ45 ports so that's the minnimum connection speed I want to maintain.

• Modem: 1*coax in 1*2.5 Gbps RJ45 out
• erro Pro 6E RouteAccess Point: 1*2.5 Gbps RJ45 1*1 Gbps RJ45
• Brother Wi-fi Printer: Wifi and USB connectivity only (want to figure out how to network it via the USB if possible and turn off the wi-fi connection)

Things I need to get:

  • Looking at CyberPower Mini Tower UPS systems but I don't know how to size it and what features I require. Live in Minnesota, USA with Xcel Energy so power is generaly pretty stable with the ocassional black/brown out that lasts no more than a minute or two to just annoy the microwave/oven clocks and my PS5. A storm will occasionally knock out power for a longer period of time in which case I'd like the homelab to power down before the UPS runs out of power. Just need the homelab, switch, modem, and routeaccess point to run on battery for those occasional short power outages. Would also like to have the coax surge protection also.
• Switch Netgate 4200?2
  • Birds, 1 Stone? This is essentially a 2.5 gig (managed?) switch that is also a hardware firewall, right?
  • I read that its better to run the firewall on dedicated hardware instead of in a VM (not clear on why) and since if I'm correct that this is essentially a managed switch it's more or less in line price wise with 2.5 gig managed switches and if I'm wrong unmanaged 2.5 gig switches are $100+ and building a dedicated pc for the firewall would cost about as much.
• OS Unraid Lifetime License
  • Started out planning on using Fedora Server because I run Fedora on my Framework 16 and have become quite comfortable with it and Fedora is officially supported by Pi-hole. Also considered TrueNAS because I'm a fan of the FOSS philosophy but Unraid looks very polished and can implement what I want to do fairly easily.
  • How well has Unraid been at honoring the perpetual licenses? Any drawbacks with deciding on going with Unraid?
• Case Silverstone CS382
  • Like that it has plenty of room for expansion with robust I/O offerings including a slim ODD slot and a 5.25" bay allowing for easy media ingest and creation.
  • An all metal case shouldn't be signifintly louder than any other case (save for something like a be quiet! case), correct?

  • Going to wait until after any Computex announcements before settling on a CPU
  • Is 8 cores, 16 threads adequate for my use case

    • The motherboard I'm looking at has 2 M.2 slots; one is PCIe 5.0 x4/2 and the other is PCIe 4.0 x4/2. How does mixing and matching PCIe speeds and number of lanes effect caching?

    • Drives will be 12 TB or larger for helium drive design
    • Starting with a 3 drive array with 1 drive as parity. How easy/safe/fast is Unraid when it comes to adding drives to an existing array or increasing parity?

I made my first build attempt with these specs yesterday and did my best to follow all the manuals accurately. Only problem was I bought my graphics card open box (maybe a bad idea) and it came with no manual. I tried to look up some help for it and it seemed fairly simple. Seated it in the motherboard and got everything screwed in. Upon power up, the POST Checker status lights on the motherboard only light up for CPU and RAM, and stay off for VGA and BOOT. This graphics card comes with two 8pin PCI-E female power connections. I have a feeling that I haven't hooked up the cables correctly to the graphics card. My question is, are all 16 pins required for full power? if so, do I need to run two separate PCI-E power cables from PSU or can I use the single factory cable that has two 6+2 pin connectors on the GPU side? Any other issues you might see as well feel free to let me know, I could have messed up elsewhere. Appreciate any help.

I just ordered a Gigabyte Geforce RTX 4070 super and i currently have a 2018 corsair rm750x power supply. I know the power supply has enough wattage but will the power supply itself and the cords that come with the graphics card and power supply be compatible together? I saw on a review video of the graphics card I would need to order a 12vhpwr adapter but i’m not sure if that’s true because the card comes with an adapter as well. Thank you for the responses and help.

Can anyone give me some direction as to what I can do to improve? Or is it just time to get a new graphics card? This one is pretty old.

I think its a pretty good deal but i would maybe change windows 10 to 7/8? The graphics card is surprisingly not that bad considering i only want to launch some older games. CPU and RAM should be more than enoug to browse the internet comfortable. there is an option to add a secend drive so space is also not a problem. Going to caveat this by saying that I've always only played VNs (visual novels) & LnD is my first ever otome gacha or any gacha, for that matter (Didn't even know what gacha meant only now lol). Its beautiful graphics and even more gorgeous LIs completely won me over.
Among other problems (bear with me 😅) like being completely clueless about fighting battles or calculating stats, or why in the world are there so many different currencies like coins, purple diamond, red diamond, chocolate, stardust, movieboard etc etc, the most major one for me is that the storyline is VERY disjointed.
For example:
one - When I was stuck after finishing Chapter 2 and couldn't progress further to Chapter 3 without reaching Level 14 (iirc), I had to go around and do other activities to gain XP. Then I started getting wish cards and experiencing all the other cutesy activities and Tender Moments etc, and to me it's like very sudden that all 3 LIs had feelings for MC & vice versa, but nothing even happened for those feelings to develop?? I didn't even met Raf much. It was strange, and I'm a huge sucker of falling in love plotlines so I felt like a huge chunk of the storyline was cut out
two - By the time I could progress to chapter 3, I've already done quite a fair bit of activities with the LIs and had Secret Times and everything. And then in the main storyline, it was that scene in the No Hunt Zone and Xavier was such a stranger??? to be fair it's only the 2nd time we met on the main storyline but it felt like our relationship has progressed so much outside of it and it was just so weird that in the main story we were practically strangers. That was very disorienting for me.
three - I saw someone said that one of Raf's myth story is heartbreaking whereas the other set is a sweet ending for it. So the myth stories also has an order? Does that mean I shouldn't read Xav's midnight myth story until I've read his Lightseeker ones although I'm about to get his Midnight set sooner?
Can someone teach me how I can make it more linear? Should I restrict myself and not watch the memory stories / Tender Moments / Secret Times and only slowly experience them as the main storyline goes on and it makes more sense to? I'm worried that once I get both Xav's myth cards, I'll be able to unlock his myth story (I'm almost at Lvl 30 affinity with him) and then it'll be like I leapt immediately to the end of the story????
Please help a girlie out 😭 Am I the only one who feels this way?
Obviously with VNs we get the whole shebang from the meet-cute to the falling in love and the progession of the relationships etc. That was kinda what I was expecting coming into LnD, even if the gameplay is vastly differently like having to fight etc but I thought at least the storyline would be coherent and linear.
Or am I just experiencing culture shock coming from purely playing VNs and this is how gachas are meant to be played?

The last conversation we had was roughly ‘We still love each other but this relationship isn’t making either of us happy and we both know it’s right to end it. We hope that in 18 months or however many years, we can be better people and make it work”.
I went up to the flat on the weekend to collect some stuff. All of the furniture is mine and so I’ll be taking it once she’s out the flat.

Her laptop was there and I couldn’t’t help myself after reading the note. On her laptop was every conversation with her friends since we split. It was horrible. (I know I hurt myself by invading her privacy).

My biggest reason for loving her was her kindness. She was the most genuinely kind and caring person I’ve ever known.

I am looking to build a desktop PC that would support tactical/strategy games such as football manager, the sims, manor lords for example. I have been told these games dont require a GPU to run well. I would still want a large number of leagues in football manager and want it to run well.
Would a cheap CPU with a graphics card be better or worse than a really good CPU and no graphics card run these kind of games better.
I am looking to spend upto £600-800 pounds initially for the build and but would like the flexibility of adding a graphics card at a later date if needed and if its not required for the above games.

So, im starting to play the game right now on xbox games pass platform, and im getting lot of crashes, actually what crash is my pc entirely(it gets restarted), sometimes when game is openning, sometimes in the middle of a game. As this game runs EAC(easy anti cheat) i know it has weird shit with windows, i had this same problem on my pc with fc24 and bf2042(both were eac games).

For those who had FPS drop / micro stutter in osu! while playing can try this and hopefully fix the problem.
Here's my specs OS : Windows 11 CPU : AMD Ryzen 5 2600 GPU : NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti RAM : 4x8 GB (32 GB) 2666 MHz
[1] Place osu! on SSD if you have.
This is for better overall performance on song selection and gameplay.
[2] On NVIDIA Control Panel -> Manage 3D Settings -> Set Power management mode to Prefer maximum performance.
This keep the GPU Clock to high performance, because osu! use very little power in my PC while checking with MSI Afterburner the core clock actually so low while playing and causing FPS to drop then stay in low FPS.
*** I don't know about AMD / Intel Graphic Card settings, maybe someone can put tutorial in the comments for similar settings.
[3] Uncheck busy CPU Core on Affinity and set High on Priority for osu!.exe process.
By checking System Information in System Informer software (Show one graph per CPU), you can see that only single CPU is busy processing (That's the case in my PC), so uncheck that CPU Core on affinity settings. This is the only reliable fix to prevent micro stutter in my PC.
*** I can do this because my CPU has 6 cores and 12 threads, I don't know if it works for CPUs with fewer cores.

In that picture only CPU 0 Core 0 that being busy, so I set osu!.exe affinity to all CPU except CPU 0 and CPU 1, because both CPU 0 and CPU 1 are in Core 0.
Now I can play osu! with Chrome, Discord, other games still running in the background and don't have any problem anymore.

I have a nearly 5 year old Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon. The HDMI port stopped working out of nowhere a couple months ago. The HDMI cord isn’t the problem since I’ve tested it with another computer. No visible signs of damage to the port.
Seems like this might be a software/driver issue. I’m running the Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620 display adapter. No idea what graphics card I have but the whole machine is stock.
A few questions:
What could cause an HDMI port to suddenly stop working?
Would disabling and reenabling the display adapter help? What are the risks of disabling the display adapter, and will it reenable itself on restart?
Any other fixes I can try?

My kid has saved up $100 to buy himself a new tablet. I don't mind chipping in to go a little above that if need be. He currently has an Amazon kid's 8" fire tablet, which as been ok, but he's complaining about it glitching and crashing and being overall very slow, which I think is mostly to blame on it only having 2 gigs of RAM. So I'm looking for something with a minimum of 4 gigs.
His use will mostly be reading books on Sora, watching Disney+ or Netflix (through headphones), and some gaming, but nothing graphic intensive. Camera is irrelevant.
I'd prefer something in the 8" range, but 10" will be okay. Storage isn't terribly important since I can just toss in an SD card.
I've found the Lenovo M10+ which can be had for $130 refurbished and looks decent. 4 gigs of RAM and 64 gigs of storage, plus it's a big name brand.
I've also found the Alldocube iplay 50 mini. It has essentially the same specs (I'm not counting their additional 8 gigs of virtual RAM) but for only $80 and the more preferred 8.4" size. Or we can spend $135 and get the pro version, which will have 8 gigs of RAM, 256 gigs of storage, and I think a more powerful processor?
However I'm reeeeeeally hesitant about a Chinese brand I've never heard of. I've done this before and it doesn't tend to work out well in the long term. Their quality control seems to leave a lot to be desired, and I find that higher specs on paper don't necessarily translate to the real world performance you'd expect.
Any input on these two devices? Or I'm open to suggestions for other tablets as well.

Looking to build an all new sff pc I’m looking for a noticeable upgrade from my current build. I do 3D modelling and rendering, Graphic design and Sim Racing primarily. I know that a sff is not ideal but I can’t have a huge build. I would also like spots for my 2 2.5” ssds case I’m not as worried about at the moment most likely with have something custom built. Some preferences I have is an RTX card, fair bit of usb/usb c ports, 64 gb ram and, mainly an upgrade from my current build.

So, my old pc got damaged in a thunderstorm. Nothing too major, hdmi output on the graphics card died and one of the rails on the 24 pin connector was delivering slightly under normal. The insurance company, however, declared it as a total loss (along with other things in the house that also got damaged). They reimbursed me the money and I built a new pc. Now I'm waiting for the main drive of the old pc to arrive, as they accidentally took it and I need it as that is where all my personal/school files are (the other drives are games and they left them with me). That's just some context, but the question is: how do I get rid of the old drivers, and do I even need to get rid of them? Specs:
Old: Ryzen 5 2600 B450 chipset Onboard audio Gtx 1650 Super
New: Ryzen 5 5600X B550 chipset Onboard audio RX 6600
I will be installing the old drive in the new pc, and I didn't want to go through the work of moving all my files to a different drive, doing a fresh install, and reinstalling all my main drive programs (office, WinRar, etc.) I'll probably need to use DDU for the graphics, but will the other things interfere, or will Windows automatically detect the change and cause no issues? Honestly, drivers are witchcraft to me, and I've had highly varying experiences across different Windows versions and computers, so any help would be appreciated. I'm on 11 btw

Hello, I have an MSI GS76 STEALTH 11UG Gaming laptop that is having some video issues. For starters, I have an 11th-gen Intel Core i9-119900H processor and a discrete graphic card, NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3070.
The problem started when I purchased a new Samsung monitor so I could have two screens to work with since I'm in the creative field and manage many assets simultaneously. At first, everything was great but then my laptop started showing two little black lines at the bottom of the screen that went away when I adjusted the refresh rate of the screen; that seemed to fix the issue until the black lines never disappeared again, then the part where the two lines where seemed to be cut off sometimes, some other times the lines would appear again, and now I have the two black lines plus four white lines that come and go, I did notice that the white lines would not appear as long as I turned on the computer without the second monitor connected (is connected through HDMI).
Also, whenever I connect or disconnect the monitor, I notice a color shift in the laptop's screen; I've tried everything, updating drivers, fixing drivers, uninstalling and repairing, and screen settings, and the last time I notice that I might need to update the processor but the thing is that this laptop has an OEM driver, which means I can fuck things up if I install directly from the intel's website, I went ahead to the MSI website to download the driver which was an .INF file that I tried to install, but for some reason, the computer won't do anything when I try to install it.
I've read it could also be a BIOS issue, but I don't mess with BIOS if I don't have the knowledge or experience; I'm sorry for the long post. I really need some help to figure this out.
PS. The computer works normally, and everything runs as it should, but these lines and color shifting affect my work since I need to correctly visualize colors.

I was told the best stuff I need is this stuff below but I don't know what half this stuff means so I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me the exact parts I should be getting.
