2024.05.15 01:40 Longjumping_Move7772 Longhorn’s Temps - Never Again

I know this has been covered on this sub before but I just left Longhorn and am very sketched out. I ordered my steak rare, as I always do and I noticed it looked almost raw. Like the sides weren’t even seared. Anyways, it was fine until I got to the center and it was cold, not cool, cold. I asked them to temp it up because there was no way it came out 120. At that point they told me their rare is 104….WHAT?!? I’ve been to a lot of steak houses, all across the spectrum (local, casual chains, high end chains, high end steakhouses) and have never heard anything so crazy. If I recall correctly, that lower than Blue Rare. Anyway, after that, I left. I demanded they let me pay since I ate everything else, but 104 has me really questioned the integrity of Longhorn. Honestly, I didn’t even think it was legal to serve beef that cold, unless it was carpaccio or steak tartare.

LongHorn email list used to hawk ‘Rep Your Temp’ merch like a $50 apron.
I am a customer and belong to the e-club which includes Longhorn Marketing emails.
I generally like the email content on specials, new items and a free birthday dessert.
Today they sent an email where they are selling t-shirts, a $50 apron, $28 socks and a $25 hat.
I believe the Darden marketing slogan ‘Rep Your Temp’ is meant as a double entendre. It’s pretty clear these are meant as a Father’s Day gift because the socks are packaged like meat from a butcher with a sticker listing the packed on date of 6.16.24.
I don’t appreciate Longhorn/Darden emails to sell lame and over priced merch. Yes I did to try unsubscribe and it’s all or nothing. I left a comment on their website.

2024.05.12 03:33 Herejst4thisquestion Best steak at Longhorn Steakhouse

I did not find this question asked and I know it extremely subjective. I would like to see opinions nonetheless.
I would give it to the ribeye or porterhouse. But would you go Outlaw Ribeye or straight up Ribeye. I need to get better with making steaks at home.

2024.05.11 18:04 CarryFantastic6990 Steakhouse and Bakery Recommendations in St. Louis

Hello everyone. I'm visiting St. Louis and I am looking for a steakhouse that is the equivalent of Longhorn in St. Louis i.e. not upscale or too pricey. Please don't suggest Longhorn as I can get that anytime where I live. Can someone also recommend a good bakery in the area as well? My brother has a sweet tooth. Thank you so much.

2024.04.26 15:04 MaineMoviePirate from the "what I think" vault; LongHorn Steakhouse Bangor, Real Maine Review I admit, I'm biased towards steakhouses. But that also makes me a tough critic! If you call yourself a steakhouse, you better deliver on those steaks. With that in mind, I'm giving the Bangor LongHorn Steakhouse 4 stars.

2024.04.17 23:18 bobbobasdf4 $10 lunch special

When I was in Japan, I noticed a lot of restaurants would offer a significantly cheaper meal as a lunch special. I didn't really notice this in America. However, a few months ago I saw a reddit comment about how Longhorn Steakhouse had a $10 lunch special. There's a Longhorn Steakhouse near my work, so I looked into their lunch offerings.
Over the past few months, I've been having a burger craving on a off. However, burgers these days cost too much, like a burger and fries can be like 15+, and you still won't be full after. Restaurants in general have been getting really expensive, so when I do eat out, which I don't do often, I like to go to AYCE/buffets, so that I don't have to order 2 entrees.
Today at work, I was hungry during lunch, and I was planning on going to Longhorn Steakhouse. However, I first took a look at the other burger offerings. I knew there was a Five Guys nearby, but I hear people say it's like 20+ dollars for one meal. I saw that there was also a Johnny Rockets nearby, so I looked into the menu, but it was 9.99 for a burger with 2 quarter pound patties, and then it was over $4 to add on fries. So I decided to go with Longhorn Steakhouse anyways.
I got there, sat down, and asked for the burger lunch special (a half pound burger + side/soup/salad), and asked I could choose any side, and she said yes. I wanted fries, but I was also tempted by the mac and cheese. But the mac and cheese was part of the more expensive side options, so I asked if it would cost extra, and it would, so I resolved to the fries. I got the burger medium-rare
I went to the bathroom to wash my hands, then sat down again. Minutes later, I got up again to go pee. After I sat down for a few minutes, my burger came. The waiter said it initially was taken back because I wasn't there when the burger was brought over.
The burger was really good, it tasted as a good as one you can make at home. However, the place I'm living at doesn't have a kitchen fan, and the smoke detector goes off when I try to sear something, so recently, I've been eating more sauted and braised foods, hence why I wanted a burger from a restaurant instead of homemade. Also, fries are a PITA to make at home.
My hands were greased up after finishing the burger, so I had to wash my hands again. After, I paid my bill and went back to work. You know that feeling when you spend a lot of money for a bad meal, which then makes you in a bad mood for the rest of the day, where you constantly regret wasting that money? Well I had the opposite today, I was in a good mood for the rest of the day because I got a good burger and fries for $10.

I am 19 and currently have about $1,500 to my name. I am a waitress at Longhorn Steakhouse and I really want a way to grow the $20-25/hr I make into something more. Is a high yield savings account the way to go? If so, any recommendations? My goal is to become financially stable so I can get a decent vehicle that’s not my 200,000+ mile 2000 ford ranger and also take some college courses.
