My husband and I have been together for almost twenty years. We have been married for 11 years. We have 3 young daughters. I wouldn't have called our life together perfect, but we were solid, from my perspective. We never had a dead bedroom. We didn't get to go on dates as often as we liked, but we always had a great time together.
Background info: our kids have health issues. I have a sleep disorder that causes my brain to skip normal REM cycles. I am constantly exhausted. I often feel asleep with our children at night, which was upsetting to my husband. He didn't understand how by their bedtime I truly could not read to them without falling asleep in their beds. (I am on a new medication and for the first time, I am able to function somewhat normally, so this is less of an issue now.) My husband has a very unusual work schedule, so he is often awake into the night alone.
In late December 2023, my husband had a major depressive episode. He experienced disassociation, etc. It was incredibly troubling. I did my best to be a supportive partner. I helped him to rest and carried as much of the load of our family and home life as possible. I encouraged him to start therapy, which he did in January.
Mid-January, I went out with my sister for a short while. I was nervous leaving my husband and the kids. I thought he might have a lot of anxiety and depression. He told me I needed to go so that he could try to live normally. His therapist urged him to do so.
During our night away, I received an email from my husband telling me he no longer wanted to be married. He told me he loved me. He said I was the perfect woman for him, and the best mom he could ever imagine to our kids. Basically, it's not you, it's me.
When I got home, I was a wreck. I cried. He apologized. He said he didn't mean what he said, but that he just didn't know what was wrong with him. He said he just needed to go to therapy and sort himself out. He acted really cold and distant.
I asked him if there were things about our marriage that he felt were lacking. He told me he often felt alone. I asked him if he would be willing to work on this. He agreed, but he refused to commit himself fully to repairing our marriage. We began spending more time together. As always, it was good when we were together. We laughed. We had fun. Sex was good. But he felt strangely disconnected. Honestly, it was so embarrassing to be trying so hard to make my own husband love me back.
The truth trickled out bit by bit. Once a week he would meet up with his best friend. They would work out and then have a beer and catch up somewhere. After some time, my husband started becoming attracted to the bartender at the place they were going. And it was mutual. He even went alone more than once to sit at the bar while she worked.
He reached a point where he convinced himself that I didn't love him, and that our marriage was hopeless. He began daydreaming about some future life with this bartender. These daydreams were not sexual in nature. They were about going on getaways, dates, and snuggling on the couch watching shows together. (Honestly, this was so much more hurtful than if he'd have been daydreaming about sex.)
He had been telling his therapist about all of this, but I had no idea. While I was pouring my everything into trying to fix our marriage, he was still going to the bar to sit and hang out in her presence.
Finally, it reached a boiling point when the bartender realized that he was married. I'm not sure how she missed his wedding ring. He swears he wore it, but who knows if that is the truth. Apparently, she heard him taking about me and our kids with our mutual friend. She was indignant about him never having told her he was married. He realized he had crossed a line if she was so bothered that he was married.
He swears up and down that their interactions never left that bar. There was no physical touch. There was no texting. He never asked her out.
But he carried on a daydream relationship with another woman. He told me he didn't want to be married. When things were at their worst, he told me he was going to stay somewhere else to figure things out. That day I know he searched for her online.
I had to tell our kids that their daddy was moving out for a while. It was awful. He risked everything. He came so close to destroying our family to take a chance with a woman he hardly knew. I no longer feel the security I used to feel.
He talked to his therapist, and she suggested that these daydreams might be his mind's way of escaping reality. She said that he has always wanted to do these things with me, but that he had convinced himself that it was impossible, so maybe he had replaced me with a substitute in his mind. She suggested he ponder that.
When he did, he said it made perfect sense. He said that he met this girl in the middle of a horrible mental crisis and the depths of depression and loneliness. He said she gave him some attention and he liked it. He said he couldn't understand why he couldn't stop thinking about her and the guilt had been eating him alive. He said that she is not even the type of person he would ever consider being in a relationship with. He knew the whole time it didn't make sense, but he felt out of his mind.
He swears that since he had the epiphany that what he really wanted was to have that fulfilling relationship with me, his head has been on straight. He says that he is as sure that he loves me and always will as he is that he needs to breathe air.
We are trying to reconcile. Things have come a long way. He is extremely remorseful. He is willing to do anything to help rebuild trust. He says this is the worst thing he has ever done in his life, and that it will always be his biggest regret, hurting me so badly. He is trying so hard to demonstrate his love in meaningful ways.
But I'm still hurt. I'm still lost. And there is a part of me that doesn't understand why. In marital counseling, my husband often points out that he didn't actually cheat. But I feel like this was some sort of infidelity. I guess I don't know. I look up infidelity resources, and the advice feels like it applies in many cases.
(He doesn't make that clarification to dodge responsibility, but he says that he says he feels it is an important distinction. He says that he made these awful choices because of his mental state, and that he fully owns them, but that he did stop himself from taking things further than they went because he is knew deep down that this things were not who he really was or what he really wanted.)
If this doesn't apply, I really apologize for posting in this sub. If it does, please help me figure out how to move forward? It has been months, and I cry every day. I am deeply depressed. My heart is just so badly broken. I wish this never happened. I wish he had just come to me and told me about his needs. I would have done anything in my power to bring him peace, happiness, and make him feel loved and content. I want to feel safe with him again. I want to trust that he will always love me, and that in his heart of hearts, he loved me even then, but there is this awful feeling in my heart that just won't go away.

2024.05.16 04:35 RT3_12 I see a lot of people talk about wanting to play alone but also get cardio in, I created this full court workout drill 10 years ago and have had great results with it.

The Five Stages of Hell
Rules:
- Pick Five Shots each shot is a "stage" (2 Post Moves, Free Throw, Mid Range, Three Pointer)
- You must make the shot to complete the "Stage" and move on to the next one
- If you miss, sprint full court to the other basket and make a layup (if you miss the layup, run back down to the other end and try again)
- Once you make the layup, continue from the stage you previously missed at
- You must make all five shots (pass the stages) to complete the workout
- If you make a shot, you have 10 seconds to grab the ball and begin the next stage (no taking prolonged breaks between shots)
- If you miss the shot, you must immediately rebound it and run to the other end as if it was a game situation
- Full workout is doing 5 separate rounds of the “Five Stages of Hell”
- Once you complete a round, take 10 free throws. However many you miss, do twice as many push-ups (4 of 10 = 12 push-ups). And then immediately start the next round
- No taking breaks or sitting down. The free throws are untimed and serve as your breather
- If you do not have a full court, instead of running to the other basket pivot at half court and run back to your own basket for your layup

Hey yall, I have a confession to make.
I lost it all in bitcoin and now I’m trying to make it as a struggling writer and I managed to buy all of my vowels but now I learned that they make you buy articles too?! Oy vey, and I JUST got my Brazilian butt lift which in hindsight I didn’t really need but here in Peru it is kind of necessary if you don’t have the local dialect down.
Anywho, now I need 3,000$ for the three articles (1,000 each of course) and I was able to find some Ebonics articles for cheap- deez, dose, dem, etc so I am writing about a gang in New Orleans using Ebonics prose who gives up being “hard” to be Mormon stylized charity entertainers like Mr beast- which was more lucrative. Oh I am a Mormon.
But the problem is I was going to have them go on an excruciatingly detailed 5 chapter Mecca journey to Salt Lake City but that means they have to encounter white people! And they are going to all sound REAL strange without their articles. Personally, I’m just using the google type subscription to use articles and vowels on the internet but I haven’t bought any publishing word rights yet besides vowels. HALP!

I'm looking at upgrading my PC and after talking with my coworker and my bestfriend, I put a list to gether on PC Partpicker. My old build is a 1060, amd 5 processor, 16GB ram. I wanted something more powerful.
I've been playing Hell Divers and want to keep with other games as such going forward. Also making up for the poor future proofing of my current memory. April's big inflation reveal: The meme trade has been a fun diversion, but the serious business is here: the April Consumer Price Index reading is set for release at 8:30 a.m. ET. Prices rose 0.4% over the prior month, matching March's pace and bringing the annual inflation rate down to 3.4%. Stripping out food and energy costs, economists expect core inflation fell to 3.6% annually in April, which would be the slowest pace in about three years.
Biden hits China with tariffs: The White House announced a suite of new tariffs on Chinese goods on Tuesday, with a key focus on EVs. In an interview with Yahoo Finance, President Biden painted cheap goods flooding the market — subsidized by the Chinese government — as an attempt to "put everybody else out of business and then they take over." Today's Takeaway is by Jared Blikre, Markets Reporter Meme stocks survived another volatility-fueled session Tuesday. Taking a page from the 2021 playbook, GameStop and AMC Entertainment led the charge. Both meme stalwarts notched gains over 74% Monday and had further doubled their share prices on the open Tuesday — only to sell off most of the day into the close. Nevertheless, after dozens of volatility halts GameStop closed the day up 62% while AMC jumped by 30%. Amid some gentle coaxing by Keith Gill (aka Roaring Kitty), a slew of names familiar to Reddit boards followed — companies like Koss, Tupperware, Virgin Galactic, Hertz, and BlackBerry. But while the explosion in volatility rightfully invites comparisons to the well-known 2021 saga that played out on Reddit and across US stock exchanges, 2024 is already proving to be quite different. This year, Wall Street is driving the bus.
Vanda Research crunched the numbers and reported in a note to clients that GameStop and AMC have only seen a fraction of the inflows experienced in early 2021. Flows into these names at the peak of the early 2021 frenzy were over four times Monday's volume. "Do we think more retail traders can jump in on the trend in the coming days? Yes. Do we think this is a repeat of 2021? No, and the chances we reach that stage are low," said Vanda. Without glancing at a single stock chart, it's easy to point out that 2021 was likely a historical aberration fueled by bored recipients of pandemic stimulus checks. Wall Street was caught flat-footed. Hedge funds like Melvin Capital were obliterated. But institutional investors learned from the 2021 episode and are better prepared now, argues Vanda. "Quant/hedge funds are much better equipped to handle these situations nowadays," Vanda senior vice president Marco Iachini noted. "If anything, we believe the chances that they participate along with retail in the squeeze but also lean against and then exit these trades ahead of retail traders are high."
As of Monday's close, the portion of share turnover in GameStop attributable to retail investors averaged 7% over the prior five days — and that number was only slightly higher for AMC. In 2021, the averages and spikes were materially higher, indicating much greater participation by retail traders. Data in the options market confirms a similar story. But the biggest difference this year might just be the lack of one single, coherent narrative like the meme story that captured headlines in 2021. Only last week, we wrote about the recent resurgence of volatility in meme names. "In a critical break from prior trading epochs, much of the recent meme stock volatility is being fueled by material news and fundamentals, like earnings, as opposed to Reddit posts," we wrote. Why the 2024 meme stock action is much tamer than 2021 — so far Indeed, our (unofficial) Yahoo Finance meme stock heat map reveals impressive returns over the last two days that are mostly green across the board. But aside from GameStop and AMC, these daily returns are decidedly not triple digits as they were three years ago. In fact, the bigger names on this list — like Coinbase, Carvana, and Palantir — have been making their gains the old-fashioned way: around earnings and bitcoin fundamentals.

Biden hits China with tariffs: The White House announced a suite of new tariffs on Chinese goods on Tuesday, with a key focus on EVs. Taking a page from the 2021 playbook, GameStop and AMC Entertainment led the charge. Both meme stalwarts notched gains over 74% Monday and had further doubled their share prices on the open Tuesday — only to sell off most of the day into the close. Nevertheless, after dozens of volatility halts GameStop closed the day up 62% while AMC jumped by 30%. Amid some gentle coaxing by Keith Gill (aka Roaring Kitty), a slew of names familiar to Reddit boards followed — companies like Koss, Tupperware, Virgin Galactic, Hertz, and BlackBerry. But while the explosion in volatility rightfully invites comparisons to the well-known 2021 saga that played out on Reddit and across US stock exchanges, 2024 is already proving to be quite different. This year, Wall Street is driving the bus.
Vanda Research crunched the numbers and reported in a note to clients that GameStop and AMC have only seen a fraction of the inflows experienced in early 2021. Flows into these names at the peak of the early 2021 frenzy were over four times Monday's volume. "Do we think more retail traders can jump in on the trend in the coming days? Yes. Do we think this is a repeat of 2021? No, and the chances we reach that stage are low," said Vanda. Without glancing at a single stock chart, it's easy to point out that 2021 was likely a historical aberration fueled by bored recipients of pandemic stimulus checks. Wall Street was caught flat-footed. Hedge funds like Melvin Capital were obliterated. But institutional investors learned from the 2021 episode and are better prepared now, argues Vanda. "Quant/hedge funds are much better equipped to handle these situations nowadays," Vanda senior vice president Marco Iachini noted. "If anything, we believe the chances that they participate along with retail in the squeeze but also lean against and then exit these trades ahead of retail traders are high."
As of Monday's close, the portion of share turnover in GameStop attributable to retail investors averaged 7% over the prior five days — and that number was only slightly higher for AMC. In 2021, the averages and spikes were materially higher, indicating much greater participation by retail traders. Data in the options market confirms a similar story. But the biggest difference this year might just be the lack of one single, coherent narrative like the meme story that captured headlines in 2021. The movie central theme is "is faith expressed internally or externally" the main character a preist gives up his faith and actively hurts the spread of Christianity into Japan. While the side character another preist is actively trying to save the the hidden Christians in Japan and ends up dying for his attempt to save them. Throughout the movie Japanese Christians are martyrd for their refusal to disrespect their savior. And another Japanese Christian always disrespects the faith but runs back to to the preist to ask for God's forgiveness. So my struggle is which type of faith should we try and grow?
1) internal faith, where we live normal lives but believe in Christ to save us.
2) religious faith, where we hold to the religion of Christianity and are willing to die before abandoning Christ.
3) forgiving faith, where we sin and maybe give up the religious practices when faced with hardship but still turn to God to forgive out sins and save us.

I think we have all had these people involved in collaboration at one point or another...
You know the type, you bring them on board only to start regretting the decision because they find ways to dig their heels in over tiny things, then slowly start assimilating themselves into the directors chair and try to take over everything and slow everything down to a crawl.
I was finding myself to be a pretty decent low budget filmmaker. I know every production is different and every crew works a different way. I was big on not over planning my movies. I knew that what was in my head was unlikely to be what appeared on screen with the limited resources I had, so I would arrive on the day and adapt. I liked a fast paced environment, ideas were always welcome and I wouldn't be too precious over production issues. Working at such a low budget, or sometimes no budget at all, I understood that I would rather shoot the scene how I could and make the most out of it rather than be bitter about it not being perfect. It was freeing, it was fun to be creative in working around issues etc.
My short films were garnering some interest and local actors and crew were wanting to work with me when I was trying to set up a project.
I had worked hard on getting my first low budget feature film into pre-production and it looked like it was about to start shooting in the next couple of months (this was in 2016).
...and then I brought in the cinematographer...
The DP was a good friend of mine. We had met through the local film scene and followed each others work, but never actually collaborated. I thought it would be a good idea to delegate DP duties and we could both embark on feature films together.
He had worked on bigger productions before, bigger than what I had worked on though not as a DP.
It was apparent very quickly that he was unwilling to just adapt to the smaller scale of my production and was pressuring for more and more.
What started as me hoping somebody with DP experience would be able to come in and improve the visual elements of the films through sheer experience and resourcefulness and understanding, was very far from the truth.
Very quickly, he was insisting I spend a good amount of the budget on renting better high end cameras, better and more extensive lighting and wished on me bringing in additional crew to assist him with the DP duties. I was not opposed to this, and figured as a cinematographer it would be a worthwhile investment to the project. Then of course came insurance for that gear and suddenly my very low budget was already starting to dry up if I proceeded.
I figured if we are going from making a cheap local indie feature into something more professional looking, maybe we should try to utilise the gear we had to try and film a couple of things to raise interest and potentially gain some more investment via crowdfunding, so we took some scenes and shot them. They looked alright. Better than what I had been doing on my own anyways...
It was apparent during the shooting though, that he wasn't just focusing on cinematography. He was overruling some of my decisions with actors, trying to change locations and entire conversations. At one stage when I was elsewhere, likely catching a smoke or toilet break, I came back to see him talking the actors through a few things, and when I was trying to get him to adapt what he had in his head to what was actually possible to shoot, he was getting a bit preachy and huffy about not getting his own way.
All things considered, the shoot turned out ok in the end. After I edited it and carried out some detailed sound design, it was actually pretty decent.
The cinematographer then started sending me messages questioning the casting of certain people, and started suggesting alternative actors. He would also start questioning the tiniest bits of dialogue with a sort of 'know it all' attitude, wishing to change locations of certain scenes (for example, from a bar to an office). He obviously had plans in his head to make 'this scene look like the scene from X movie or Y TV series'. If I didn't know any better, I'd say he was trying to film ideas he wanted to visually do, and not actually shoot the script the way I was asking him to shoot.
This progressed into him requesting more gear, because he had ideas. I just didn't have the money for this, but he was digging his heels in again and again over everything including directing decisions, writing, casting.
Film is a collaborative effort, but I had brought in somebody who was taking over the production and any time you had to move him back into his station he would give you the 'trust me, I worked on this and this...I know best' mentality. Production was slowing to an absolute CRAWL because he would just constantly bombard you with expectations and challenge everything, and when things finally got started would take forever reviewing a shot and lighting before he was happy to shoot. I am not against quality control, but this isn't Hollywood, we didnt have the time, money or resources to be this strict about the craft. We had to be in and out of locations within a certain timeframe and he was just too unwilling to meet me in the middle between what he considered his level and my level, it was his way or nothing.
The guy had clearly wanted to work with me, so it confuses me as to how the guy who apparently liked my work and style just wanted to entire project to fit what he thought was best, and my role as the director was requiring the inevitable where I was going to have to kick him off the production because we weren't moving any further forward with his elitist attitude towards the project.
The project eventually folded and never returned. It was what it was. If I had kicked him sooner or even shot it myself, it probably would have been completed. Maybe not to a super high standard, but I wasn't looking for a BAFTA, I just wanted to shoot my first feature script with the money I saved for it, but the budget was drained and the project had been at a standstill for too long directly because of this cinematographer that was constantly throwing spanners and changes into the works.
I thought it was me and I just couldn't handle a production. But as time went on, I worked with others and projects all came together nicely, I had good working relationships with crew and cinematographers. I may have been less experienced, but he certainly damaged the production.
Years later, we are still friends and we do still share ideas with one another.
But I have noticed every single time we initiate the possibility of collaboration, the professional side of him flares up and it becomes the controlling production knowledge it all demon that I experienced back in 2016 all over again. Anything I've ever sought to make without him, gets made. Every time we try to work together, it never gets made for all of the same reasons initially.

Social media is fake. All the glitters is not gold. That was my experience at this gym. After 4 months of working with them, I was ultimately unimpressed with the service I received. I started out the experience with a positive attitude, eager to work with them, and one thing after another soured my experience.
I was initially drawn to the gym because they are minority-owned, more affordable than other gyms offering group training classes, and the very impressive and beautiful physiques of the trainers on their IG. So I signed up for the New Year program, at the start of the year.
The program was, in my opinion, not worth the $500. For the 8-week program, the service was not very different from the team training, which is $154 per month. They advertised the program as also offering nutritional advice, and check-ins to measure progress (weight loss, body fat %, max reps for exercises, etc.). I followed up with one of trainers twice about receiving a meal plan, and he never sent it. They also never tracked our max reps. And while they promised they would track these metrics and offer the winner of the group a refund, it was never set up for anyone to win.
I ignored all of these things, initially, because I already have a meal plan which works for me, and really didn't expect a gym to give customers their money back. It's whatever they have to say, to get people in the door.
What first soured my experience, was one of trainers being highly aggressive, rude, and impatient in his tone toward me, during the first few weeks of the program. It was just me, him, and one other person, during one of the training sessions. Toward the end, I offered to take notes about my form, because I'm clumsy and I could sense his impending frustration. He then became very hostile with me, because I kept slipping during a kettlebell swing. I've been to 3 gyms, and no trainer has ever directed that type of aggression towards me. It be your own people. I had nothing but love for this trainer, would smile and greet him in the beginning. In efforts to make it a positive experience for myself, since I had already invested in the gym, I stopped attending his classes and just switched trainers.
Then, the gym decided to use our before and after photos for promotion on their IG, without asking first. There was no paperwork, where we signed away our rights away to photos or videos taken. They posted the photos for members to vote on a winner. I complained, they said they would take it down, and then didn't take it down. The attitude is to use people for promotion, charge a higher than usual price for the service, and then offer mediocre service.
When I reached out to the gym, to cancel after injuring my back by deadlifting too much weight during class, they were unresponsive for a week. I asked the front desk in person, was given a hard time, and deferred to the owner of the gym. Then, they responded that I could pause my membership for a month, but still charged me and never followed through. I had to contact my bank to dispute the charge.
There is also not enough parking for the people who go to the gym, and no AC, which is very uncomfortable in summer heat.
On a positive note, I did gain 3 pounds of muscle, learn proper form for some barbell exercises, and lessons were learned. Not everyone who worked at the gym was bad to work with. There were positive experiences. Would you back to this gym?

Recently got back from a conference( 2 weeks ago) department officer decided to have a team meeting regarding us cutting out during the “last session.” A few things to keep in mind 1. Our last day itinerary only had breakfast listed,(no one knew about an additional keynote session until right after breakfast) shortly after the speaker got on stage myself and another coworker left. 2. Unbeknownst to us at the time we were already checked out of our rooms, which didn’t leave a ton of time to gather up our things. Breakfast started around 9/9:30 and check out time was 11. We were also asked to fill out a detailed time sheet. During the meeting she stated that there will be some type of repercussions for breaking our ethics/conduct code. Now I can see how this is a violation of accurate timesheet, but don’t understand how this a blown to such a bigger ordeal as the time was still spent at the conference. My direct supervisor also didn’t mentioned anything when I submitted my time. Thoughts? Opinions/Advise.

Designing characters, worldbuilding, figuring out how the general story will flow, etc. I want the story to have a lot of twists and turns, and for them to feel organic. But this very early stage includes a lot of conflicting ideas, mushing together in my head like a smoothie until I can barely remember what the story is supposed to be. I can’t decide if character A should die early or late in the story, I can’t decide if character B should be more sympathetic or sinister, and it makes setting on these ideas and writing down the outline really hard. Especially when you’re doing this on your own with no outside input. What do you guys do to not make the planning phase a stressful mess?

After battling with TD Ameritrade for over a month and a half, and now with Charles Schwab for 3 days, it appears they've changed the definition of OCO orders. You won't find the traditional definition of OCO anywhere on Thinkorswim or Charles Schwab anymore. In brief, TOS removed the advanced feature on April 1, 2024 so now whenever I get a partial fill, the remaining orders are canceled instead of being reduced by the same amount. This has been incredibly frustrating, and I've lost $42,000 with TD Ameritrade over this issue. All I want is for them to fix the OCO order functionality,

It's stored indoors. I cleaned out and lubricated the engine before putting it away for the season—which turned into 10 years.
I'm sure all the rechargeable batteries I have are toast. Watching some videos, I saw that people are using a rechargeable battery pack instead of 4 AA's. If someone has a specification or link, could you point me to that battery pack?
Plug igniter - I'm sure the battery for that is toast; curious if I can replace the battery or will have to buy a new igniter; I'm sure the technology has changed since.
I've read that the transmitter should be replaced as its the older 27MHz, not entirely sure but I think that's the case.
I'm sure I have some unused glow plugs. I have a rather large organizer with all the car parts and accessories, so I will have to confirm. I can't even remember the type of glow plug it takes.
I'm truly grateful for any tips and suggestions you can provide. I'm aware that there might be some aspects I've overlooked, and I'll be sure to post more questions once I retrieve my car from storage. Your assistance is invaluable to me.

I just got prescribed Dapsone gel 5% (twice a day) and Tretinoin cream 0.025% that I started using 5 days ago evey other night so I applied it only 3 times so far. This morning I woke up with closed comedones all over my chin, cheeks and a bit on my forehead. I always had few of them mostly on my chin and 1 or 2 infected more deeper cystic type of pimples - that’s why I started tret.
Is it possible I’m already purging? I was mentally ready for it, it just seems to be happening too fast so I’m wondering if it’s something else causing it?

For reference I’m a 23 yo M
To start, around 3 weeks ago I was headbanging to music pretty hard and felt a stinger in my neck. Thought I just pulled something, but I woke up the next day with my arm feeling like a nerve was pinched somewhere. It was hurting in my left shoulder and weak as well, there was also tingling and weakness in my hand.
The tingling have also spread to my face and neck. A week later the other arm started having the same issue (feeling exactly the same on onset actually). I go to see my neurologist and he was weakness in my left shoulder and arm but not in my right arm as it felt completely normal when this all started. The left shoulder weakness has actually gotten better, but the tingling, numbness, and weakness are still there. Also neck pain and should pain coke on intermittently.
I should note all the weakness is clinical. Also have positive Hoffmann sign in left hand but not on the right. No clonus. Positive Romberg test which tests for proprioception.
I had an emg of only the left arm because that was where all this started, and it came back crystal. I also had an mri of my brain and neck and this is what they found.
FINDINGS: No fractures or dislocations are seen. No destructive bony changes are seen. The vertebral bodies are maintained in height. The pedicles are intact. No facet malalignment is seen. The pedicles are intact. The craniocervical alignment and atlantoaxial articulation are unremarkable. The visualized structures within the cranial fossa are grossly unremarkable. No spinal cord myelopathy or contusion is seen. Small mucous retention cyst in the sphenoid sinus is noted consistent with chronic sinusitis.
There is straightening of the cervical lordosis likely due to muscle spasm.
The C2-3 disc level is unremarkable.
The C3-4 level is unremarkable.
C4-5: There is 2.5-3 mm broad-based right paracentral/right posterior herniation of the protrusion type impinging of the right ventral spinal cord borderline narrowing the central spinal canal. The neural foramina are patent bilaterally. Tiny Tarlov cyst in the lateral foramen is seen.
C5-6: There is a shallow broad-based left posterior protrusion encroaching approximately 2.5-3 mm into the spinal canal with associated posterior spurring/ridging impinging on and mildly flattening the left ventral spinal cord. Tarlov cysts in both neural foramina are seen.
C6-7: Tarlov cysts in both foramina are noted without disc space narrowing, annular fissure, posterior herniation or central spinal stenosis.
C7-T1: There is minimal right posterior bulge without disc space narrowing, annular fissure or focal herniation. Small Tarlov cysts in the foramina are seen.
The T1-2 disc level is unremarkable.
All this points to neck issues but two surgeons (well one surgeon and a resident of another surgeon.) say it’s highly unlikely my neck is causing these symptoms. My neurologist has stated to me that there is nothing else it really could be outside of blood issues.
I’ve gone down the als rabbit hole and am stuck in it, I’m trying to get out. I forgot to mention I have twitches too on top of it all.

To start, around 3 weeks ago I was headbanging to music pretty hard and felt a stinger in my neck. Thought I just pulled something, but I woke up the next day with my arm feeling like a nerve was pinched somewhere. It was hurting in my left shoulder and weak as well, there was also tingling and weakness in my hand.
The tingling have also spread to my face and neck. A week later the other arm started having the same issue (feeling exactly the same on onset actually). I go to see my neurologist and he was weakness in my left shoulder and arm but not in my right arm as it felt completely normal when this all started. The left shoulder weakness has actually gotten better, but the tingling, numbness, and weakness are still there. Also neck pain and should pain coke on intermittently.
I should note all the weakness is clinical. Also have positive Hoffmann sign in left hand but not on the right. No clonus. Positive Romberg test which tests for proprioception.
I had an emg of only the left arm because that was where all this started, and it came back crystal. I also had an mri of my brain and neck and this is what they found.
FINDINGS: No fractures or dislocations are seen. No destructive bony changes are seen. The vertebral bodies are maintained in height. The pedicles are intact. No facet malalignment is seen. Hi team, this is more of a rant. I am currently a Vice President of Business Technology for an investment bank in nyc. I am few months ago a recruiter approached me for an incredible opportunity. It’s for a Director of IT role for a growing finance firm. It’s an increase in pay, 2 day in-office, and the office is literally 5 minutes away from me. It’s absolutely perfect. I waited about 3 weeks for the first interview. After that I was told to wait for the second interview. After waiting for another 2 weeks, the recruiter called me to tell me that they have put a hold on the role as they aren’t sure who they need for this role. They still need to identify the position. So they have instead hired a consultant for 4 months to help identify how to fill the role.
My recruiter told me this isn’t ideal but they believe I’m still a strong candidate and believes if I’m still in the market they will call me back.
For now I’m in no rush to look for a new role and only got interested in this one because it seemed like the perfect next step in my career.
Has anyone ever encountered this type of wait? Is this normal for a small start-up type firm? Any suggestions on what to do?

I posted in here a while back about booking my honeymoon to Greece and Italy and how excited I was. And I still am. But my trip is getting closer and closer and I’m starting to get a little bit nervous about it.
It will be my first transatlantic flight ever. I am flying from Denver to Dublin which is 9 hours, and then Dublin to Santorini which is 3 or 4.
The longest I’ve done is Hawaii which was 7 hours I think. And regularly flying to/from Florida which is 4-5 hours. For the most part, I feel like my fear of flying is mostly gone, but of course there are moments I still get nervous like during bad turbulence or if there’s any type of mechanical delay or bad weather.
I will be flying with my husband for our honeymoon so it is very exciting and I am trying to focus on that.
Here’s what I have lined up/am bringing, let me know if there’s anything else I should bring or do:
• Prescribed anxiety and sleeping meds, electrolytes, nausea meds, cough drops, gum
• Eye mask and neck pillow for sleeping, I’m looking at the foot rest hammock things too
• Compression socks and comfy clothes
• Noise cancelling headphones, iPad with downloaded shows

So I've encountered an issue recently where my sandwich effects stop working. I'll do a couple of shiny hunts and every works fine; I use an encounter power level 3 sandwich for a fire type and I pretty much only see fire types spawning in. Then, a few hours later I'll make another sandwich and I see a wide variety of types spawning in and can't really shiny hunt for the rest of the day. The next day, things will work again for a few hours but then the bug happens again.
Here are some things I'm 100% sure about and can rule out as potential causes:

- The Pokemon I am hunting for naturally spawns at the location where I am making my sandwich, so it's not an issue of being in the wrong place
- No ingredients are falling off of my sandwich, and the correct sandwich effects are showing on the screen
- I am always making sure I am in the correct phase of the day/night cycle depending on the Pokemon I am hunting for
- Doing an online tera raid battle
- Connecting with a friend on Union Circle
- Fully turning off my Switch and restarting the game

 | I apologize in advance for this post being slightly different than the norm for this sub. I am in my mid-twenties wanting to make a pivot into financial planning. I have a few years of work experience since college working at a large insurance provider, but no experience in finance or financial planning. My long-term goal is to earn my CFP and be a fee-only fiduciary advisor preferably at a smaller RIA firm. I initially hesitated to apply for roles in the industry due to lack of experience and not having any designations or certifications. However, after meeting with a family friend who is a CFP as well as CPA who works in an Advisor role at a local RIA, he encouraged me based off my experience and passion to go ahead and apply for paraplanneassociate advisor type roles to get my feet wet and start gaining experience. I have been preparing my resume but would love some feedback from those in the industry of how I can stand out more and have a decent shot at getting this type of position.
