TLDR…
I have a gig tomorrow night and I’m wondering if I should reach out to a girl (F28/9?) I (M29) met in December in the weeks before Christmas that I fumbled a casual fling with because I’m a clueless idiot lol… I’m going to provide the backstory followed by the working text below.
I met this girl after a holiday concert at a bar nearby. It was her birthday And she straight up hit on me at the bar which I’m not used to. Long story short I ended up going home with her and hooked up. I guess she was kinda hammered but I didn’t think she was super drunk at the time. Regardless, she kept saying how sweet and attentive I was, and the next morning we said we both enjoyed the night. It was a little awkward but not too bad. I’ve had ONS before so I get it, but I’m not the type to just hit and quit right away as I don’t date often and I’ll take what I can get lol. She told me she wasn’t really looking to date which I was and am fine with, I just enjoy connecting with women. I didn’t really have a goal in mind but was happy to ride the wave.
I left, we made plans to see eachother again. Was going to meet at a bar but she said I could come to her place since it was more cozy so i suggested a gingerbread house and drinks. She said sure, and since I haven’t dated in a long time due to a past long lingering heartbreak that I’m finally over, I went shopping for homemade margs and gingerbread house stuff before I went to see her again.
Admittedly, I went way overboard with the materials but figured whatever we didn’t use I’d just bring to my family party and we could build gingerbread houses there. I didn’t honestly expect to get very I nvested into the gingerbread house thing, I was pretty indifferent about it, but I come prepared and figured we’d end up sleeping together so it’s be a segue towards that again. Also, since it was Christmas time and her birthday the week prior, at the store I was debating whether or not to get her a $10 poinsettia. Why not. Would it be too much? Idk maybe? I let it be a game time decision and if I decided not I’d have one for my place. Time comes, I think “fuck it” and grab that with all the other completely unnecessary stuff.
I show up to her place with a duffel bag full of gb house materials and mixology stuff to craft good casamigos margs, and this poinsettia. She buzzes me in and on the way up to the TOP FLOOR I drop the plant on her stairs so now there’s dirt everywhere 🤦‍♂️
She sees the ridiculous sight of me and this scene and tells me I didn’t have to do any of that. I guess I just wanted to be nice but I know it was too much in retrospect and kinda going into it? It’s been a while so I didn’t know what to do, alright!
Anyways, I unpack the stuff, make drinks, we talk and kinda get going on the house but quit on it pretty quick lol. We go to the living room, talk a bit, then I realize she had more of a Booty call sitch in her head so we hook up again. Next morning was fine, we had a good time, I said I’d just use all that stuff for a family party which was 💯 true and we go about our days.
We text a while the next week talking music and it was fine, maybe coming on too hard and I ask if she wants to meet up again soon. She says she’s feeling sick and is staying in.
Literally an hour earlier I was talking to my cousin who told me she was sick. I decided to get my cousin a little care package after work. As I’m shopping, I find out this girl is sick too. They’re in nearby neighborhoods in the city.
I told her I was already on a mission and she said not to get her anything or worry about it. I really insisted On it since it honestly wasn’t a big deal to me at all and felt I could get her something to help the pain or whatever. She said she wasn’t being modest and that she had meds there and not to bring anything as it was too much. I backed off and realized I shouldn’t have done that either.
I wait a couple days to give space, text her again, and she sends this
“Hey! All better now thanks.
It’s been fun getting to know you and hanging out but I’m not interested in continuing anything from here. It’s all been a little too much for me so just wanted to be straightforward and let you know. Wishing you the best and a happy holiday!”
I replied with…
“Glad to hear you’re feeling healthy going into the holidays.
Yea, I understand how I could’ve been perceived by you as overzealous.
No worries, thanks for being honest! Same to you, Enjoy the holidays”
I understand that from her perspective it would be weird if a guy was insisting on coming to her place when she said not to. I just figured it ain’t no thang and didn’t think about it at the time. In hindsight, I was treating her like I would’ve treated my ex which is how I ultimately screwed that sitch up. I was ok with a casual thing but didn’t know how to navigate it.
That was in December, where she proceeded to block me on instagram. Whoops. Not how I hoped that’d play out lol I wanted to explain that I know it was too much and I won’t act like that again as we both want something casual. I know it sounds like I didn’t, but I did and do now as well. 8 left it at that and put it behind me.
Well, now it’s May and I’m playing music at the bar we met at which reminded me of that huge fumble. I was curious if I should reach out as I’m wanting to start being a bit proactive again in meeting women. I’m a 37 year old looking at possibly going to school for aviation mechanics. I have worked in the oilfield for over a decade and transferred over to social work for the last 4 years. I pick things up easily and made it to management in both fields. I’m ready to get back to blue collar work as it’s typically less heartbreaking than non profit work.
With that being said, I have a hard time with school. I would like to hear what the day to day is like in mechanic school. I learn most effectively hands on and traditional schooling is not my strength….i graduated high school and was successful in truck driving school, but when I’ve tried more traditional schooling I have a hard time.
I’m not worried about it being “hard” per say as I’m pretty mechanically minded, but I just want to get a feel for what it’s like before I invest.

I will refer to “friend group” as FG. Sorry for the long post, but I felt this info was necessary to the story. Also I’m reposting cause the other one got lost in the subreddit lol.
So, I have this friend, let’s call her A. We’ve known each other since middle school, but tbh we haven’t been the closest of friends until after graduation. I still think of her as a dear friend and don’t want to loose her, but to be clear, we aren’t as close as say me and my BF (best friend)
For context, we’ve been in the same friend group throughout all of middle and high school, which fizzled out after graduating. I’m not super heartbroken about the friend group falling apart because I’ve never really hung out with anyone outside of group meetups aside from my best friend (who was in the same group). None of them ever asked me to hang out, and me, being the person I am, assumed it was cause they didn’t want to, so I didn’t initiate to hang with them either.
After the FG graduated high school, we decided to go on a fun trip during spring break, where we’d stay 2 nights in an AirBnB. If I remember correctly, this was A’s idea, and the ppl that went decided on the location and activities. 6 ppl out of the FG decided to go. Me, my bff, A, two other friends, and a guy we’ll call B, who was the only male on the trip. I wasn’t really close with him but he was in the friend group and I thought he was okay, just not the type of guy I’d hang out with.
Anyway, in prep. for the trip, I decided to pay for the BnB and have everyone pay me pack on their own time (they all did). I also offered to drive since my dad allowed us to use his truck for the trip (it was big and we wanted to save on gas. I decided to pay for the gas since it was my families vehicle). Everyone contributed to the food and such (my bff bought a large dish that we would bring to avoid making dinner the 1st night), but the main person cooking meals was A (she made pork udon the first night with help, and French toast the last morning before we left. Everyone helped out with cleaning and such.) I thought the trip went really well, until I dropped everyone off when the trip was over.
Basically, A confided in me something that happened between her and B and we talked for a little while, with me trying my best to give advice or an opinion. (Keep in mind I’m not really qualified cause I’m basically celibate with how little experience I have, and don’t plan to have for a while). This was the first time in our years of friendship that she confided in me something super emotional for her. I felt that by trusting in me, I was shown that she actually cared about our friendship, and I was willing to put more effort into our communication. I wanted her to be okay, and naturally hung out with her whenever she wanted or when our schedules aligned.
Due to our increased time hanging out, I felt our friendship grew stronger, BUT not as strong on her part as mine. She was definitely a lot closer to the other ppl in the FG than me, and I learned later that she told everyone else about the situation within a few day-a week after we got back from the trip. Which made me feel like she only told me first cause I was the last one in the car. I don’t mind that per se but it still weighs me down I bit.
Onto the advice part.
After a few weeks (or perhaps closer to a month), A had a noticeable decline in her mental health, which I think I tried my best in helping with, meeting up and talking and such. But then she suddenly left the FG’s group chat, and then I sent her a text asking what was wrong, I got messages by another friend in the FG saying that A was leaving the friend group and that I was a main reason as to why. I can’t remember the exact circumstances as to her reasoning since it was a year ago, but I do remember that I didn’t respond to a text she sent earlier in the morning (I was going to class and forgot to respond, by the time I remembered it was deleted), and that was her “last straw.”
I was devastated by this. I thought “wtf did I do I’m an awful friend I have to try and make this right.” So I tried sending A a message in hopes she would grant me a response. I sent and unsent messages, trying to find the right message before just deciding to ask for a talk. I would’ve preferred face to face, but she called me, and I picked up. My emotions were high, and I was vulnerable, and scared, cause I was finally close to her as a friend and I was about to loose her over something as silly and forgetting to respond to a text. While on the call, she ranted that she was putting so much effort into all her friendships, only to not get anything in return. “I would give so much and for what? I’d ask you how you’re doing, every time there’s a thunderstorm, but when I need you you don’t respond.” (I’m pretty scared of thunder. Ik it’s irrational and some call it childish but i can’t really help it.) I tried to not cry while talking to her but I ending up breaking, telling her the truth that I’m scared of not being a good friend, that I don’t know shit about anyone and I feel they don’t care about me either. that “ill be better and I’m sorry.” Stuff like that. :/
A few days after, we met in person, she forgave me, and I swore I’d make sure to communicate with her more.
But that’s the thing. I tried, but I didn’t get much of a response back. I’d send memes, start convos, ask to hang out, and most of the time the texts would go unread. I knew she was busy with work and such, and then me living 30 minutes away (we live in a big ass city) makes it harder to hang out, but I couldn’t help but feel it might’ve been some sort of revenge? It just felt shitty, and I couldn’t help but think that she’s giving me a taste of my own medicine.
Then she responded and we hung out, and we didn’t really talk about anything emotional. Just basic stuff.
Then she started school again, and suddenly it was like she didn’t exist. I NEVER got a response to anything, even when her status said she was active on insta (main form of communication). She’s in a STEM major, which ik can be super demanding but, not even time to like a reel or send a quick message?? Our dm’s became a graveyard for unseen reels and lost messages from me about meaningless things. Eventually I stopped sending anything, thinking she just didn’t wanna hang out with me anymore.
Then I got a response saying she was on break, and because I’m me, I was happy and didn’t mention the months of ghosting.
Then she started school again, and it was the same process.
She finally ended her semester along with everyone else, and she’s finally connected to me again to hang out. (She texted everyone tho because my bff got the same message) I said yes because I wanna give her a chance, even though I’ve talked with my BFF and she told be things she found sketch about A. (Short of it is: A had a similar convo with BFF that she did with me about giving and not receiving (specifically during the trip A said she did most of the work), but BFF said she actually did contribute the the friendship and that the same stuff could be said for A, which I didn’t even think about till BFF and I talked about it, and now agree with. )
I really want to continue this friendship, but there are red flags that I’m seeing. How to I go about talking to her and mending the rocky relationship we have?
TLDR: I have an inkling my friend might be a little manipulative/toxic, but I don’t wanna loose the friendship. How do I fix this???

Logistics:

  • Skip mk2 since it's too expensive
• Trucks: nearby short haul of ingots (smelt ore on-site if possible)
  • Separate truck stations and truck routes, by walls if necessary
  • One station, one truck, one product
• Trains: Long distance inter factory for high density products (I haven't played with trains too much yet)
  • It would be hard to make every single product in a central mega factory
  • Build factory for a dedicated product, then put them in loading train stations to allow other factories to fetch what is needed there
• Boosted hypertube: personal transport between factories/outposts

Factory Layout:

• Multi-floor vertical layout (non-refinery)
  • 12m high for constructoassembler floor
  • 16m high for manufacture floor
  • Raise the foundation so that it's clear of boulders, hills, creatures, etc.
• External input:
  • Stackable main bus along one wall with open ceiling to allow splitter + lift to access all floors
    • You can place splitter directly on stacked up belt, but it does not snap to your desired location easily. Instead, place stacked up splitters to your desired height, then connect splitter to stacked belts
  • High density products only on main bus. Make low density products on-site, such as screws
• Intermediate product:
  • One intermediate product per floor
  • Belt against main bus direction (tail to head) to a storage container buffer at floor head
    • Align buffer container so it's easily accessible manually
    • Use sign on container wall to label content and throughput
    • Lift product from buffer to the floor where it's needed
  • Use smart splitter before container to send overflow from all floors to sink at first floor
• Final product:
  • Belt to truck or train station
  • Use billboard to label content and throughput
• Machine input/output
  • Input: use balanced belt for 1 to 2X or 3X inputs. Use manifold for odd numbers (e.g. 5 or 11)
  • Output: use manifold
  • Route all belts on one side of the machine to allow expansion on the other side

Progression: Up to Tier 7/8, I've build a main hub, oil factory, and space elevator factory

• Tier 1 - 4: a main multi-floor factory near hub (not near space elevator)
  • Focus is to build a mall with various buffer containers to sustain expansion and unlocking milestones
  • Project parts, like versatile framework, do not need to be fully automated, and should only be made on demand, with few fully boosted machines, on a temp floor
  • Coal power plant
• Tier 5 - 6: Expand to a second oil factory
  • Setup train to transport oil based products (plastic, rubber, circuit board, computer) back to main
  • Fuel power plant
  • Build a space elevator factory (same multi-floor factory layout) near space elevator, with inputs from main and oil factory
• Tier 7 - 8: I don't know. I bet it's time for more factories and train network

Things that don't work:

• Factorio style main bus:
  • It's difficult to place splitter directly on stacked up belt at the exact location
  • It's difficult to do multiple "lanes" and branch off them like a priority lane
  • It's difficult to plan for the future throughput requirement
• Belt space elevator parts directly to it
  • It's not worth it for tier 1-4
  • Space elevator parts deserve their own factory building, instead of incorporate them into main hub factory
• Train rails on raw ground. This may be controversial...
  • There are too many stones, hills, ridges, valleys etc. that interfere with rail placement. Raise rail remove all these concerns
  • It blocks truck route
  • Raise rail platform can be combined with hypertube
• Odd balancers
  • Made a 1 to 5 balancer blueprint in one factory. Not worth the time effort

i could give an endless amount of examples pero i think everyone will see where im going with this.
sa example 1, wla ako masyado problema kasi pag ako nagpahiram ng pera, its always an amount that ive made peace with even if i don’t get it back(para kang nagsugal, it should be money you are prepared to lose) + i see that amount as worth nung tao na nanghiram IF they ever fuck me over and end a friendship for such a small amount. that was the gist and short version of it. i got a lot of upvotes and praise and around 70% of replies were positive and supportive. The other 30% though were:

These people are the reason bakit dumadami ang pasaway, even if they were in my position and technically the victim, cla pa ang takot or nahiya. Either way, im firm with my decision and actions, i am also carrying a firearm + my vehicle has 360 camera view live recording to the cloud.

My mother called me abusive.
I recently finished school and moved back in with my family. My mother and I have always been very close, but returning home for holidays in the past few years made me realize I might need some distance from her. Despite these realizations, I often dismissed them as me being dramatic until I was back home again.
Our relationship has its complexities. For example, we repeatedly have discussions where I ask her not to share certain personal information with others, yet she acts like those conversations never happened. She also convinces me to share my emotions, promising to keep them private, only to later deny I ever told her anything when she breaks that trust. Despite knowing I shouldn't trust her, the periods of calm between these incidents always make me believe she's learned, though she never does. But we are also known as a duo and go everywhere together when times are good - or that we get it out. It feels like a cycle of fight, I tell her why I'm upset, she says okay (sometimes she will say ok I'll try harder) and we both move on. Until the next time it's ignored....
I realized I need to do something or I never will. Last week, after being called abusive has been my breaking point. I genuinely asked multiple people after this situation if I am inadvertently abusive and never realized it- it made me question myself.
Anyways, I was driving my mother to a Mother's Day celebration on Saturday (one day before Mother's Day) when I politely told her I didn't appreciate the timing of a comment she made earlier in the living room. For context, my mother has a rocky relationship with her parents. My grandfather, a car salesman, promised me a vehicle for my graduation, which I saw as a peace offering for him taking money out of my education fund his past wife set up for me (she passed almost a decade before I went to use the education fund and put it in my and his name, I guess so he could invest that money). My father does not like my grandfather and did not know about the car, he thought my grandfather was bluffing. My father upon first hearing this was concerned about the logistics and the implications of me accepting this car, so I had a private conversation with my mother regarding the car on Friday night when I found out it was happening.
Saturday, my mother brought up the car in front of my dad despite my request for discretion (my grandfather is not known for being 100% honest so I thought I was calling his bluff and if he was being genuine maybe he had changed and we could have a relationship). This led to a familiar argument about her not listening to me. As we continued to argue, she started screaming at me for being 'difficult.' I pulled over, refusing to drive while crying, and she accused me of being unappreciative of her parenthood sacrifices. In the heat of the argument, I echoed her past sayings back to her, pointing out her hypocrisy. Her response was then to accuse me of being abusive and manipulating her by me not being a 'happy person despite [her] parental sacrifices'. She referenced someone coming up to her asking her if she was okay after a public argument we had last summer, as evidence of my alleged abuse.
I was stunned. I asked for more examples, but she kept repeating that one incident and how a stranger had asked if she was okay. The stranger had also asked me if I was okay, but I had started walking out of that situation because I was heated and did not want to take it out on any passersby. She continued to scream at me, and I could do nothing but sob.
When we got home, I retreated to my room and cried for hours. My mother, on the other hand, took a nap and went to a comedy show for the rest of the night. The next day, she ignored me completely, even at breakfast on Mother's Day. I felt stuck, and was unable to visit my friends (who live 4 hours away in my university town) or my partner, who only lives an hour away from me but needed to be elsewhere to support a family related tragedy.
That night my dad who had only heard that I had insulted her after being screamed at for 30 minutes suggested I apologize, but when I explained she feels I am abusive, he seemed to understand - and went out to get takeout, which we enjoyed just the two of us that night. For context, him and my mother are still married and probably always will be. They may still love each other, but they haven't liked each other in over a decade.
My mother has since tried to make peace by cooking me food, and what feels like interrogating me about my life (i.e my dad told her I had a job interview yesterday so when she saw me this morning before I went to go help out an elderly neighbour with with their house chores, my mother grilled me about the interview and anything else she could think of that is new with me in the past week. I responded with as few words as possible to be polite instead of completely ignoring her but then she blew up and said she deserves to know more about my life because she is my mother. I just told her I was in a rush, did not have time for that BS, and left.) but obviously that will not mend our relationship. Despite everything, she is still planning our usual summer vacation, that just her, myself and my brother goes on. This vacation is also always 15-18 hour drive away so it's only me and her that take turns driving as my brother is younger and only has a learning permit.
On top of this, my grandfather is indeed giving me the car, but my dad is worried it's a way for my grandfather to try to stay connected to me and possibly manipulate me over. He is putting the car in my name and I think I can change the license plates out of his name so I think it's an easy fix to not be directly financially manipulated by him. My dad just knows him better than I do over the years, and I'm worried it will become a 'well do x for me because I bought you a car' but I think I could just say no in that situation. I'm torn between using the car to gain independence while I'm still here or if just moving out would be more economical and better for my mental health. The trouble is being a new grad, I am religiously applying to jobs but all the terms are 4-month contracts which makes it really hard to move to different cities with (upon the entry level job pay being terrible - I would really have to calculate on a per job pay, per location basis if I could afford rent + groceries + car).
I feel trapped and just don't know the best course of action. Seeking advice on how to navigate this situation. Happy to hear other's related experiences too and what they did.
*Please do not comment about how this generation doesn't work hard or respect their parents or such. This is the first time since I started working in childcare at 13 that I have not had a job. And honestly I don't even find those sorts of comments relevant to what I'm asking; I am just wondering other's experiences in the same boat and wondering if it's worth it to fix it with my mom and really just what people with similar experiences have decided to do for themselves in these situations.

Speculation: Jigsaw used to capture people who were not looking to live their life and play games with them to show them that they actually do care about their lives in the end. Maybe DFV is referring to shorts desperately trying to get out of their position and showing they will do whatever it takes to do it. The Prestige quote comes from the scene here and shows a magic trick of money appearing. The Kansas City Shuffle is "In order for a confidence game to be a "Kansas City Shuffle", the mark must be aware, or at least suspect that he is involved in a con, but also be wrong about how the con artist is planning to deceive him. The con artist will attempt to misdirect the mark in a way that leaves him with the impression that he has figured out the game and has the knowledge necessary to outsmart the con artist, but by attempting to retaliate, the mark unwittingly performs an action that helps the con artist to further the scheme" and the Made you Look songs full line is "They shootin', Aw made you look" maybe referring to what is happening to the stock right now.

Speculation: Inside man is about an elaborate heist turned hostage movie on Wall Street. Don't think there is much more to say about that other than GME is most likely the hostage in this situation.

Speculation: This is a really fun meme, we see some more of RC and Roaring Kitty Gill all over this. Is there a partnership or does DFV just know that RCEO is about to do something big that will send goosebumps down the bears necks.

Speculation: Another meme from New York with predominantly girls hanging out. DFV maybe noting that we all unleash a little roaring kitty by taking on his thesis with Gamestop, dunno about you but I just like the stock. Things might get a little crazy, at least to people on the outside when they are asking you why you aren't selling.

Speculation: Things starting to get real interesting now. This looks to be a sign that something is happening behind the scenes. A baby monitor, what's RCEO got stored up? Maybe he is pregnant? Maybe GME is pregnant? Is there a merger happening? A split of some sort?

Speculation: Really looking like something big is on the horizon and DFV thinks he has seen the signs. This meme would suggest maybe its a merger with multiple gamestop logos but that's just my opinion. One thing for sure is that Gamestop has something on the horizon.

That doens't mean his thesis on Gamestop doesn't evolve, I just think he is done looking for other deep value plays.

The blonde icon from other sub tied up is in the place of a kid who was tied up in the film and certainly WAS NOT a friend of the Sicarios. Take from that what you will but I can't comment to much as it's about another sub.

The chair maybe is an answer to a Cramer tweet and the smackdown i'm not sure other than it being just a fun thing to watch.

Speculation: I think that this could indicate that Gamestop isn't doing anything wrong with what's going to happen, they have warned again and again in their financial postings that the stock is being manipulated and is subject to squeezes. It could also indicate a GME investor has nothing to worry about legally either, just like the stock.

Speculation: If you take DFV to be the good guy in this car scene then he just carries on with what he believes which is in GME regardless of trying to be chickened out of it in the face of adversity. You could also say he is Bojack and wanting to continue with his memes, he ain't done telling his memeroirs yet.

The stadium concessions don't have fountain drinks or ice. The cashier said "the Pepsi guy" is coming to fix it, but that sounds like a cop out passed down from mgmt. Did they intentionally shut the fountain machines off? If not, when will they be available? I'm seriously considering bringing an ice pack tomorrow. Even in the rain I'm gonna want a cold drink. I haven't had an ice cold drink all damn day, only refrigerated Gatorade and water that warms up in 5 minutes. If I'm paying $5 for a drink I at least need ice. That lemonade slushie truck must have made BANK today bc it was the only icy drink on premises.

The murders of Russell and Shirley Dermond in Lake Oconee GA in 2014 is one of the most well known cases in the true crime online community. I'll provide a summary for anyone unfamiliar with the case, and here are 2 links for those who want to know more about the case

In the first week of May of 2014, Russell and Shirley Dermond, a couple who was approaching 90 was supposed to attend a kentucky derby party in their upscale neighborhood on lake oconee in central GA. The couple never made it to the party, and after a few days went by, their friends became concerned when they did not hear from the Dermond's, so some neighbors went over to check on them
That is when the neighbor found a horrifying scene, Russell Dermond dead and decapitated in his garage, Shirley Russell nowhere to be found. The neighbor then called 911
The house was immaculate, it was an extremely clean crime scene and there was no evidence they were even killed at the house
10 days later, 2 fisherman found Shirley's body 6 miles away from the home, she was dumped into the lake. She had been beaten to death and had 2 cinderblocks strapped to her legs and tossed overboard. her body was disposed of via boat
I consider myself fairly well read about this case and I feel the entirety of the crime raises alot of interesting questions. id love to hear peoples thoughts on these questions/motives and the type of people and their motive who would do this. County Sheriff Howard Sills has been very media friendly about this case and has shared a decent amount of details/insight. Below are a few questions i have about the case, feel free to comment your thoughts, etc.
-the crime scene was extremely clean, russell was decapitated in the garage but otherwise the house was immaculate. why decapitate russell? if it was to hide the ballisitcs evidence would it not have been easier to use a different weapon?
-I feel they likely came to the house with the plan to decapitate them as they had to have a very sharp knife(sheriff said a super clean cut) and a container to take the head away in. what would be the motive for this?
-sheriff has stated he thinks there was at least 2 people, possibly more involved
-Russell was not killed in the garage where he was found. he was likely shot due to gun shot residue being found on his shirt. there's no blood spatter in garage, why kill him elsewhere and then bring him to the garage? where was he killed?
-Shirley was killed in a different manner and much more brutally, why use 2 different methods for killing them? why bother removing her body and his head and hiding them, meanwhile RD body was just left on the floor of the house?
-Shirley was not killed at the house and her body was dumped via boat
-this is a significant part of the crime imo, because removing Shirley from the property(in a boat especially) increases the risk of being caught 50x. i feel like there had to be a noteworthy reason to do this but cannot think of one
i think these killers are local, they had to have a boat and a truck/trailer to transport that boat. imo these guys had to be VERY comfortable on that lake, in order to kidnap an old lady, bring her onboard the boat, likely kill her onboard, and then tie cinderblocks to her and dump her body overboard. this is ALOT of work/effort and is very risky to do, which doesn't gel with leaving his body at the house
i think most likely it had to be some form of extortion, where they arrived by boat(even though sherriff says he doesn't think they arrived by boat) and then kidnapped SD in order to get $ out of Russell. Russell then either refused and/or fought back and was killed or things went wrong and the killers plan was ruined. so they just had to kill the dermond's and leave

Let me share my 3000h of modded wisdom with you, my fellow vanilla comrades. My attempt here is to provide you with as many as possible improvements to the base game while keeping the style, balance, and content as vanilla as possible. As they say, when it works the best is when you don't realize it is there. I guarantee you that after playing for a while with these, you will no longer be able to tell what's from the base game and what's not.
You don't know how to mod? Maybe this very basic guide will help. Please, note that many mods come with options to tune up your experience. It is recommended you give them a look.
You can find the steam collection here. Be aware that some of these mods require the DLCs. You don't have the DLCs? Just don't use the mod.
Dependencies:

• Harmony + Huglibs. Required by so many mods, you may as well be done with it and always have them.
• Vanilla Expanded Framework. While not as radically necessary as the previous ones, it's still a dependency fairly common. And this one actually does cool things on its own, like loading new modded factions without having to start a new game.
• XML Extensions. You won't be able to access the options of some mods without this.

Performance

• Dub performance analyzer. Enable the optimizations and override options, you can ignore everything else. If you want to disable alerts, use rocketman.
• Rocketman. By default, it should be good enough. This mod also allows to disable alerts you may don't care about, like, dunno, tattered apparel or unhappy nudity. It is recommended to run adaptive move occasionally (in stat cache settings).
• Performance Optimizer. More hacker magic. If you don't like the UI changes, you can disable them in the options. This mod does more performance stuff aside from that, so use it anyway!
• Performance Fish. You will have to install this mod manually, since it's not available in the workshop. You will also need to install its dependencies, Fishery and Prepatcher. Please, be aware that at the present there's an issue in which linking storages crashes the game. However, this can be prevented by disabling "TryFindBestBetterStoreCellFor" in the options.

Minor changes

• Optimization Meats. Unless you really want dozens of different meat types for some weird role-play reason, this mod will reduce the bloat on your kitchens.
• Better Animal Tab
• Better Info Card
• Conduit Deconstruct. A button to exclusively dismantle power conduits.
• Disable Automatically Select Travel Supplies
• Improved Need Indicator
• Map Preview. You can reroll as well!
• Prepare Landing. You can search world tiles matching your conditions. Goes great with Map Preview.
• Medical Tab. An easy way to overview your colony health.
• More Harvest Designators! e.g. harvest only fully growth plants.
• ModDiff. Great improvement of the mod mismatch screen.
• Pharmacist Temporary Update. Instead of always using the best medicine, now your pawns can use the appropriate medicine for the situation. No longer will they spent glitterworld meds on scratches!
• Smart Turret Covering. Fixes an issue with turret covers.
• PawnTargetFix. So that the autotarget prioritizes the closest enemy.
• Poisoned Food Stack Fix (Fix). Fixes an issue with meal stacks.
• Priority Treatment Ressurected. Doctors will finally prioritize keeping your pawns alive over taking a nap. Disable the option that prevents injured pawns from performing surgery, it has issues.
• QualityBuilder. You can set up a target level for furniture, and your pawns will reconstruct it until it's achieved. If I remember correctly, it's enabled by default for all new furniture? You can turn that off in options.
• RPG Style Inventory Revamped. Much better looking inventory.
• Replace Stuff. Allows to directly replace buildings, without having to deconstruct first.
• Research Tree. A better research tree.
• RimHUD. The best mod of the whole list, it will save you A TON of clicks.
• RimSaves. Overhaul of the save menu.
• Show Known Techprints on the trade screen.
• Show mechanoid weapons on the info screen.
• Smarter Construction. No more babysitting pawns when building walls.
• Stack gap. By default, pawns constantly refill storages. With this mod, you can configure it so that storages are refiled only when they're empty.
• Sun Lamp Honesty. Fixes an issue with sun lamps
• Just Put It Over There. Traders will deliver the merchandise, instead of dropping it on the ground.
• Trade Ships Drop Spot. Mark the spot in which orbital traders will deliver the merchandise, instead on whenever they feel like it. Doesn't work inside animal pens.
• Trading Options. Configure how frequent you want the traders to be.
• WVC. More work modes for the mechanitor.
• Save Settings. Allows you to save and load storage, production, and clothes settings. Works cross-save!
• No Max Bills. Removes the bill cap on workbenches.
• Better ground-penetrating scanner
• Colored deep resources
• Common Sense. Feel free to configure however you like it. I prefer it like this.

• Bulk Smelting will save you precious time.
• Stonecutting Extended. The same as the previous mod, but for stones.
• Electric Stonecutting Table. To speed up the stonecutting even more.
• Faster Smoothing, a must for all mountain/underground out there.
• Do Your F****** Research. You can order pawns to research.
• Go the Fork to Sleep. You can order pawns to sleep.
• Meal Radius. Configure how far pawns will search for a table to eat.
• Home radius. Configure the size of the automatic home area.
• Smarter Visitors. Visitors will leave if things get dangerous.
• Custom Guilt Duration. Executions in vanilla are a pain because the guilty status goes away too fast. Now you can configure it.
• Dress Patients. Allows dressing of downed pawns.
• Way Better Romance
• Hunters Use Melee
• Injured Carry. Allows to rescue not downed pawns, no longer you have to wait for the bleeding to down them.
• Not My Fault. The player is no longer responsible for unrelated deaths on the map.

Major changes

• Dubs Bad Hygiene. Plumbing!
• Vanilla Temperature Expanded. Lot of useful temperature-related buildings, as well as proxy heat, a very cool mechanic. Some buildings are redundant with the previous mod, just don't research the ones that you don't want.
• Death Rattle + Biosculpter Patch + Life Support. Changes the behavior of mortal wounds so they're not instakills.
• Dynamic Flooding. Inundations!
• Some Things Float. I recommend disabling the chance of pawns loosing their footing.
• Layered Wall Destruction. Walls aren't just destroyed, they become debris. Note that there's an issue in which the debris will spawn home areas.
• Yayo's Combat. Combat overhaul. You can disable the ammunition system if it's not your thing.
• Character Editor. Allows you to edit and save/load pawns.
• RunAndGun. Allows to use guns while moving, with penalties to accuracy. Don't enable the dual wield or search and destroy modules, they won't work.
• EPOE Forked. Fills in the gaps of surgery content in the base game. I recommend disabling the additional workstations and enabling direct crafting only. Less micromanagement, more fun.

Balance

• Beautiful Jade
• Almostthere1.5. Caravans no longer go to sleep two hours away from their destination.
• Stepping Stones. A more reasonable research path.
• Dubs Break Mod makes it so that severe mental breaks require severe negative thoughts.
• Fists Aren't Made of Steel. Reduces the unarmed melee damage, making prison breaks and tantrums much less frustrating.
• No Burn Metal. Sets the flammability of metal buildings, and others, to zero.
• Prisoners Fear Turrets
• Realistic Rooms Rewritten. Allows to tweak how pawns perceive room sizes.
• Ugh You Got Me. Social fights stop when pawns are sufficiently hurt or in pain. Doesn't affect masochists or psychopaths.
• Better Pyromania. Way less frustrating.
• Mortar Accuracy. Improves mortar mechanics.
• Graze up. Grazing rebalanced.
• Better Camp Loot
• Snap Out! Wardens can try to calm down pawns on mental breaks. "Try" is the keyword here.
• Peer Pressure. Opinions matter when converting someone.
• Better Gene Inheritance
• Vanilla Genes Rebalanced
• Gene Trader. Getting xenogenes it's hard, this should easy the burden a bit.
