Hi all. I'm bringing my 17 year old nephew down from Hemit for an upcoming weekend (before the fair comes to town) as a gift for him graduating high school. My wife and I will be hosting him and his 15 year old sister from a Friday night to a Sunday morning at our place in Chula Vista. We're also covering all expenses for food and entertainment.
I'm not old by any sense, but I imagine things a married couple in their early 30s with no kids enjoy doing are VASTLY different than what teens enjoy. We're thinking of taking them to Belmont Park, but other than that, I'm stumped.
I'm open to all of San Diego and I'm not really worried about price. What are some cool and fun things to do that'll make their trip memorable?
Extra points for good food recommendations too (I was thinking Funky Fries at the Plaza Bonita Mall?)

During class activities, we had to complete worksheets, which posed several issues because my teammates did not listen in class. They often missed basic instructions on how to answer questions and submit assignments, communicated poorly during lessons, and handed in sloppy work. Despite this, they appointed me as the leader of a recent group project on mental health, even though I matriculated late.
The situation worsened when we had an assignment to interview someone for at least an hour on our chosen theme. I found a counselor from my school to interview, recommended by my teacher. My teacher said it was compulsory to include someone from my team in the interview, so I asked Guy A to join. Throughout the interview, I was surprised to see him being toxic and passive-aggressive in the group chat, especially considering he didn't seem to understand the assignments or know what to do.
During the interview, the counselor mentioned that I needed to email him officially first, but he would still answer some appropriate questions. He did answer the interview questions provided by the teacher at the end.
While I was conducting the interview, Guy A was slandering me in the group chat and being passive-aggressive. I had to explain myself to the team while responding to the counselor. When I asked Guy A to ask questions, he sarcastically responded, "Oh, ask personal questions?" I was confused because I never asked personal questions; all my questions were related to the topic. The assignment required us to ask questions beyond those in the template, and I ensured all template questions were answered.
Guy A then claimed that the questions weren't related to the target audience or that it seemed like I was counseling the counselor, which was not true. It was frustrating because he didn't communicate his feelings during the call, and his passive-aggressive comments were childish. I noticed his messages 15 minutes into the interview, which was anxiety-inducing as I tried to manage the interview and address his comments simultaneously.
Additionally, another group member panicked, thinking she needed to join the interview, even though I had clarified that a minimum of two people was enough. I had to reassure her during the interview. When I asked Guy A if it was an appropriate time to end the interview, he responded with a meme, saying, "Nah, I'd win." I didn't understand what he meant, so I concluded the interview after covering most of the questions.
How am I supposed to communicate with teammates like this in the future? I don't understand what I did wrong. When Guy A was unsure about the assignment, despite the teacher explaining it multiple times, I explained the steps to him and shared screenshots of my conversation with the teacher.

• During season 1, the initial order was for 12 episodes. No one thought they would actually make it to 12 episodes.

• He is joining from France.
• He thinks his bellhop role is in season 2. When corrected that it’s season 1, he says “excuse-moi” (in his French accent).
• Young cast him because he was nice and easy on the set.
• His son is also on the video. His son’s name is Gautier. His son makes a bunch of funny faces and hand signs throughout the interview.
• His agent would tell him you don’t need to meet the casting director, for auditions in general. Gail wanted to meet them anyways, because he wanted to meet as many people as possible.
• The original season 1 pilot was 2 hours. Rosin passed. It was eventually trimmed to 90 minutes, and about 30 minutes of music videos were cut. Aaron Spelling then wanted to meet him, after the pilot was trimmed. Rosin took the meeting.
• Aaron Spelling did not want to have a season in college. There was a lot of anxiety about the format changing after high school.
• The first two to three episodes of Melrose Place got a higher rating than Beverly Hills, 90210. They convinced the president of FOX, Lucie Salhany,
• Gautier has now taken out a puppet. The entire podcast starts laughing, except for Gail, who doesn’t know what’s happening behind him.
• Rosin then promises FOX that they’re going to have Brenda elope, and that will be the number 1 show that week.
• There was a lot of pressure at this time.
• Young kept waiting for more details about the elopement plot line to emerge.
• No one knew that Doherty was going to be leaving at the end of the season.
• Gail was unaware about any issues Doherty might have been having with the management company.
• Gail had no idea how big this plot was going to be.
• Aaron Spelling gave Gail a kiss and hug after his audition.
• Young does not remember other people that auditioned for this role.
• Mollin says Paul Waigner and Jessica Klein also had a big part in casting Gail.
• Rosin says sometimes during auditions, people talk their way out of a role. They get nervous and talk too much.
• Rosin tells a story of how he once met an actor. Rosin told him he liked this movie he was in. The actor then spent 5 minutes telling Rosin why the movie sucked. This was an example of an actor talking his way out of a future role.
• When Gail came in season 1, he read for a recurring role. They didn’t want him because he was too green. They then offered him the bellhop role.
• During season 4, when Gail was offered the role of Stuart, he asked how they could bring him back as a different character.
• Rosin said at the time, he didn’t think people were watching the show that closely. He didn’t know that there would be dedicated fans like there are today.
• Rosin and Young wanted Gail because everyone had liked Gail from before. Young says she had known him from before, and trusted him.
• Young had reminded Rosin of what Gail had done before, in season 1.
• When Gail went into the Spelling office for this season 4 audition, and saw all of the producers lined up, he was intimidated. Gail had to use psychological tricks like telling himself to breathe. Don’t start when they start, but start when you want to start. Wait until you are in that character.
• Gail cannot walk into an audition and just start being in character. He has to be David Gail first. Meaning he has to say hi to everyone as David Gail first. Then he can get in character.
• Rosin says one of Aaron Spelling’s biggest strengths was casting.
• The first time Rosin heard Aaron Spelling say that his strength was casting, Rosin thought that was BS. But, overtime, Rosin agreed that Aaron Spelling was that good.
• Aaron Spelling knew Julia Roberts was going to be a star, when he saw her in Mystic Pizza.
• David Gail’s son somehow appears on screen, upside down, from the top of the camera. Gail has to shoo his son away again.
• During season 2, Doherty had a boyfriend in Chicago named Chris Lupus. He was wealthy. So Rosin created a character that reminded him of that boyfriend, in Stuart.
• Gail says the plot was fun.
• Gail likes how Stuart was spoiled and possibly dealing drugs. He said it’s more fun to play a character like that.
• Both actors that played Stuart’s parents (Peter Mark Richman, Claudette Nevins) have passed away.
• Mollin likes the dynamic of how Stuart’s dad thought Stuart was a loser, and Brenda was making him a winner.
• Gino Conforti, from Three’s Company, was the mechanic in “Strangers In The Night”.
• Both Richman and Conforti were on Three’s Company.

• Jessica Klein created Jesse Vasquez. That was the name of her college boyfriend.
• Young went through a lot of resumes with pictures for this character. She had put Mark Damon Espinoza aside. After a few days, she kept going back to his picture. He didn’t have a lot of credits. She wanted to meet him.
• He was so easy to talk to. He was friendly. He was from Texas.
• He had a good theater background.
• Mollin didn’t like the casting at first. He’s grown to love Espinoza. Mollin says the character worked.
• Mollin: A baby is a show killer.
• Young: All of the cast has an opportunity to give input on casting. Carteris didn’t say things about whether a potential picture on a resume was terrific.
• Rosin and Mollin now think Espinoza was pitch perfect in all of his scenes. Even the ones with Ian Ziering in season 5.
• Rosin: He’s a good friend of this podcast.

• As soon as Young saw Kathleen Robertson, Young knew she had to pay close attention.
• She was easy to work with. She wasn’t nervous.
• Robertson had a unique hat. Mollin and Rosin noticed it. They used that same hat in her character’s intro scene.
• Lou Patrick negotiated Robertson’s contract. (A woman).
• Aaron Spelling had accidentally sent out a cast renewal to Shannen Doherty. Lou Patrick saw that and alerted Rosin. It had already been decided by this point that Doherty wasn’t coming back. They were able to stop that from getting to Doherty.
• Young had hired Nicholas Pryor before on another show. He was professional.
• Young: Christine Belford (Samantha Sanders), Pryor’s wife, was a good actress.
• Kelly McDonald, Young’s assistant, met with actors for D’Shawn Hardell. She was the one that recommended Cress Williams to Young. He was very new.
• Rosin and Mollin liked him.
• Unlike Tico Wells from season 1 (whom Rosin beat in basketball), Cress Williams could not play basketball.
• Young had known Dina Meyer (Lucinda) from before. She had always liked Meyer.
• There wasn’t an audition. Tony Shepherd just told Rosin that Dina Meyer would play the part.
• Barry Bonds and Dina Meyer are the only actors that Tony Shepherd told Rosin who to pick. There wasn’t an audition.
• Young loved Scott Paulin (Professor Randall). She had known his credits.
• Young doesn’t remember too much from Tracy Middendorf’s (Laura Kingman) audition.
• Young: Noley Thornton (Erica) was wonderful. She had seen her from “The Martin Short Show”.
• They had to make a lot of arrangements to get her from one set to another, because she was on both shows. But child actors have some limitations.
• One time, they were praying Thornton would be able to make it, because The Martin Short Show was running long.
• Kerrie Keane (Suzanne) didn’t know that there was going to be a scam.
• When Jessica Klein pitched the scam story to Aaron Spelling, Spelling thought the audience would know right away. He didn’t think the scam would work. Rosin had to promise that no one would see it coming, by the end.
• Rosin likes how he can talk to actors that come on the podcast now, because he was never able to do it when the show was being made. Jason Carter (Roy Randolph) is one such example.
• Young says there were a lot of British actors, at the time, because there was a lot of work in Los Angeles. And they were paid more here, then in British Television.
• Young had met Paul Johannson (John Sears) before.
• He was one of Jason Priestley’s friends.
• David Sherrill (Jack Canner) was another one of Priestley’s friends.
• Young would tell Priestley why one of his friends would or would not get the role.
• Young loves Brook Theiss (Leslie Sumner). She had met Theiss on Growing Pains, and Just The Ten Of Us. She was such a joh to be around. Young also introduced Theiss’ husband to her.
• Young likes Theiss so much, that she would cast her for something right now if she could.
• Young does not remember Kari Wuhrer (Ariel Hunter).
• Young remembers Matthew Perreta (Dan Rubin) a little.
• Young does not remember the Minnesota girls.
• Young loves Jed Allen (Rush Sanders). His acting was similar to Ian Ziering’s. She saw it right away that he was Steve Sander’s dad.

• Young had known Zachary Throne (Howard) from before.

I (45f) am in desperate need of some direction. I have been dealing with severe pelvic pain for decades. I was on birth control pills for many years until my doctors no longer felt safe prescribing them to me due to advanced age and other health conditions.
Once they took me off the pills, my pain became completely unmanageable and I finally found a doctor who diagnosed me with endometriosis. January 2023, I had the surgery that confirmed it. He removed a lot of it and said that I should begin feeling much better. I didn’t. My pain didn’t change at all, so I decided to schedule a full hysterectomy.
In July 2023, I had the hysterectomy. I was sore for quite some time, but figured I needed time to heal, however, the pain and bloating kept getting more severe and seemed cyclical and similar to when I used to get ovarian cysts. The pain would get so bad at times that I would be bedridden and was sometimes accompanied with extreme fatigue, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and fainting.
I went back to my OBGYN in March and we discussed that it could be Pelvic Adhesive Disease, Endometriosis coming back, or Ovarian Remnant Syndrome. We scheduled the diagnostic laparoscopic surgery. I had it one week ago. They found NOTHING! I was beyond devastated. Really not sure where to go from here. I have my post op scheduled for May 30th, but figured that it wouldn’t hurt to reach out to you beautiful people and see if any of you have experienced this before? Any advice, tips, recommendations, or similar stories would be greatly appreciated, so I can try to figure out my next steps.

Hi everyone. I am an international student who got accepted to the ACSAI program in La Sapienza. I was done with all acceptance procedure and even paid part of my tuition fees as the pre-enrollment fees. The next step is to apply for a visa through Universitaly and I need an equalized qualification for it. I hold two qualifications, a “US” diploma from a Saudi-based school and a Cambridge A Level certificate I received as a private candidate. When I submitted a CIMEA application for verification for my “US” diploma (which is the qualification my university recommended me to submit), they immediately gave me a statement of denial because apparently the accreditation agency is not a “regional” one which I assumed my agency was. Now I’m down under 150EUR+ and submitted an appeal that might likely be rejected. It feels absurd, because my qualifications seem like they should be more than enough. I don’t know how to move forward. If it means I can’t attend, then I’m afraid to tell my parents after I kept telling them about everyone and I don’t how to go on because I abandoned my other uni applications for La Sapienza. Does anybody have any ideas on how I could try to fix this issue with CIMEA? Please and ty 🙏

Hello all! I wanted to see if anyone else had similar symptoms/experiences. I’m a 28 year old female and have a history of anxiety and depression. I went to a psychiatrist back in September 2023 and he basically was like “yeah you should get tested for ADHD.” I battled with this for many months and I am getting tested this Friday (yay!).
I also recently discovered that, according to my mother, I was “not on par with the normal students and had to be in a special ed class” going into 1st grade. I don’t know the details and my parents do not remember the details, but basically the school psychologist would ask questions and I would answer them but not in the way they were looking for. For example, “what’s a pet that starts with the letter D and has four legs?” Most people would say “dog” but my answer would be “Doberman” and this is considered not what they are looking for. My parents refused to put me in any type of special education and did not pursue further testing (probably in denial or something).
What was your experience like with psychological testing? Anyone else have similar experiences growing up with school? Any insight is much appreciated and thank you for reading my long post lol. 😅

Many will read this and most definitely laugh. To be honest just thinking of how I'm going to type this out is surely laughable. For the few that genuinely want to know the proper experience in VRC. allow me to demonstrate..

1. Arguably the best year of VRC. Unfortunately I was near the end however I did get to experience was exhilarating. When you start VRC, your introduced with your main hub. Shortly after you'll find there are many instances to your liking. For me when I first started, I joined the maps that where simple. Very soon after for me it was the dance community. I actually got to the point where I would participate in events, DJing for in game clubs. Other users who joined would dance and communicate.

There's no shame in having fun with VRC. There are ovie instances where you can watch films with friends. You can simply go to worlds and my God some of it is beautiful. to experience in Vr..
My biggest fun and I know it sounds conceded and messed up;. But I loved talking to women in game. Yo hear a cute girl in that sexy anime avatar = your dream pleasure. Believe it or not I actually met a girl from Switzerland and one thing led to another, she flew all the way to stay with me for two weeks. Point being, reason I mention any of of this is VRC can be very fun. Immersive. You can meet great friends or even love interests.
One thing I would recommend is to be careful. You can get so sucked in and distracted to where you start neglecting work, family/friends. Even hygiene.
I haven't played VRC in a few years. Even if I could, I wouldnt want to. It could be a whole new ballpark now. Or more or less the same. Just be careful.

I graduated university 5 years ago with a double major. I am now applying to graduate school in the field of major A, which requires 2 academic reference letters.
There are 2 potential professors I took high level courses with in major A. With one, I even worked with as a research assistant, although in a minor role. These professors certainly knew me, but we were not close. I have not maintained contact with these professors since graduating.
There are 2 other professors from major B that I have maintained some (infrequent) contact with in the years since, and was much closer to during my education in a personal sense. Major B was not wholly unrelated to major A, but would not make much sense in the context of my application.
In the strict academic sense, it makes sense to ask my professors from major A. However I can’t help but wonder if it would be better to ask from major B because of the more personal relationship.

My apologies in advance if this is long. I was in an abusive relationship/marriage for 23 years. This incident happened when we were still friends. If I had I only known the truth when this had originally happened, I would have been saved from decades of emotional, psychological, verbal, physical, sexual, and physical abuse. (And currently post-separation abuse).

TW: Suicide, self-harm, abuse
We met through a mutual friend. We became really close really quickly. He was 17 and I was 19. We would talk for hours about anything and everything. I was raised around domestic abuse, and my family was highly dysfunctional. I suffered severe trauma as a child being raised in this environment with an abusive father and brother. (His namesake). By the time I met Bub, I had been having mental health struggles for many years. To deal with the trauma I still suffered from I would self-harm by cutting frequently. I also had been in a psychiatric hospital twice for suicide attempts. I told Bub about all of this, and he knew that I still did it. He was very supportive and would get really sad when I harmed myself.
Since we were just friends we would talk about our crushes. He had a crush on a girl from high school and I had a crush on one of my ex's B, who was also my high school crush. We only dated for 3 weeks, and we decided we were better as friends then lovers. Though we did have a FWB thing going on when we were both single. He really talked up his crush and I really talked up mine.
Two months into our friendship he got a gf. He told me she was a girl he knew from his home city named M. He claimed her mother would babysit him and his brother. He really talked this girl up. She was into all the same things as him. He said she had beautiful red hair, D breasts, liked the same books, movies and music as him. (Yes, he bragged about these things, as disgusting and corny as it sounds now). I was starting to believe he talked her up to make me jealous, which it honestly did. However, I knew it was petty jealousy and I was very happy for him and expressed that to him.
I don't know whose idea it was for her to start communicating with me, but she started emailing me to get to know his best friend (me). I was totally cool with this and was excited to get to know her. Before I know it, she starts getting really nasty with me for no apparent reason. It really upset me. My natural impulse at the time when I was upset was to cut. It was a maladaptive coping mechanism I had for years, and I did it when I was really upset. I explained this to him, and he said he would talk to her. He showed real concern I was harming myself and he also wanted her to stop.
So, he told me he had talked to her, and she had told him she would stop harassing me for no good reason. I really assumed she was jealous and let her know there was nothing to worry about. We were friends and he had a much longer history with her. She didn't stop. She continued to say the vilest and f'd up things to me, including making crass and insensitive comments about my suicidal ideation and self-harm. Naturally I was really upset and cut myself pretty badly. I still have the scar.
This basically went on until they broke up a month later. He said she was doing heroin, and he was vehemently against drugs. He said that they had a good friend that died of an OD, and he couldn't be with her if she was going to do that. It was over. She never contacted me again.
Not long after that B (my ex-bf) had come back from bootcamp. I spent a good deal of time with him while he was on home for leave for two weeks before he shipped out overseas. We decided in that time that we would no longer be FWB because I was starting to have feelings for Bub. Me and Bub started dating right after that. He ended up telling me that him and M didn't really date, and he had only told me that to make me jealous. AHA! I was correct!
So, I asked to meet her. He was a bit hesitant at first, but he finally agreed. At this point his bf V from his home city was dating her. It was the perfect opportunity to meet her as like a double date. I will say, at that time in my life I could be possessive and jealous. Not proud of it, but I was young and immature. I ended up treating her pretty snidely because of this.
One night we were out with them, and Bub got into a car accident. We ended up having to call his dad for a ride home. When we got to his home, his dad was contemplating letting them sleep there. I whispered in Bub's ear that I was not okay with his ex-gf sleeping at his house. She overheard me tell him this. She pulled me aside and told me they never dated. WHAT? I was furious. Bub made eye contact with me, and by the look on his face, I could tell he knew what she told me. The ride back, to drop them at home in his dad's car, was uncomfortable to say the least.
After he dropped them off, I confronted him. His explanation was I was so pushy to meet her, but he knew how jealous I could be, so he didn't want to actually introduce me to the real M. Ends up V was dating a girl with the same name. I felt so stupid and betrayed. I wanted to end it, but he seemed so remorseful I ended up giving him another chance.
Well, the years go rolling by, and I hear no more about this girl who he was so close with, in the past. Bub was a very charismatic person with a lot of friends. He never stopped speaking to friends permanently and they would come in and out of his life. I found it a little odd that there was no mention of her but didn't think much else of it. I also never really formally met her.
Then Facebook became a thing. He ended up being friends with every person he had ever known. Except her. I would bring it up and he would always have some excuse. We ended up moving in with his brother in 2015. I wasn't really around his brother a lot, so I never got a chance to talk to him at length. I remember at one point I brought her up. I was just so curious at the mystery girl and wanted to see if he was still in touch with her. He told me he didn't know what I was talking about. He said his mother never left them with babysitters and only worked when they were in school.
"What does that mean," I'm thinking. WTF does that mean? I brought it up to Bub and he told me she only babysat a few times so his brother probably forgot. But this didn't sit right with me. He had told me that she would babysit them frequently. He denied ever saying the frequency. What could I do but believe him? It had been almost 15 years by that point. That's a long time to keep a secret like that. Surely, he was telling me the truth. I dropped it for good.
We get married that year. We had a child the next year. We had a stillborn a year after that. All this time until 2022, I started feeling really uneasy about our relationship. I started suspecting that his behavior towards me was abusive.
Sidenote: I didn't include all the abusive behaviors in this post, as it would be a novel if I did. I'm simply recalling the events around the catalyst to my descent into hell.
By the end of 2022 I was broken. I had gotten my first of what would end up being 3 TROs against him. I dismissed the first two. (The second was a dual, as he set up a situation that created the need for me to defend myself. He claimed I wasn't defending myself. That's a story for another day). After the first two, I was still so desperate to salvage my marriage with my eternal hope that he could change. I was just so broken by then I didn't think I deserved any better, and no one else could possibly want a worthless, pitiful broken mess like me.
The summer of 2023, while laying sleepless in bed, the memory of M flashed through my mind. I started remembering details I had long forgotten. Why did I never meet her? Why was she never his friend on Facebook? Why had neither of them reached out to each other? I had met every person he talked about, or he was at least friends with them on Facebook. Why not her? Why did his brother not remember? Why did he say M's mother babysat them all the time? I KNOW he originally said that damn it! Why was her email address, at only 17-years-old, her first and last name? 17-year-olds don't use their names like professionals. They call themselves sparklybutterflies86 for christ's sakes! This was all going through my head.
The next day I confronted Bub. I will paraphrase to the best of my memory:
Me: Was M real?
Bub: I thought this had been settled already.
Me: No. No, it hasn't. You told me your brother just did not remember her and that was the last I spoke of it.
Bub: Deadpanned looking me right in the eye "No. She wasn't real. I thought you knew this by now."
I can't really remember what I said at that point, but it was a lot of "how the fuck could you do that? and other expletives. His excuse was he was an insecure teenager, and he was jealous of B and how much I talked about him. A fucking insecure teenager. Talking up his high school crush didn't make me jealous, so he made up a gf.
He pretended to be a gf, who went on to harass the shit out me. Which caused me to be so distraught that I cut myself. He knew I was harming myself and he kept on doing it. I still bare the fucking scar from that time. He involved a poor innocent girl that I was fucking terrible to. Not to mention the fake story of a friend that Od'd. And his excuse for this deranged, diabolical, INSANE fucking shit was, "I was an insecure teenager." No fucking big deal, right?
23 years. Two kids. One alive and one deceased. 23 years of complete and utter psychological annihilation with this man.
If only I had known.

I graduated in December 2022 and after that I was focused on job search. I sent at least 400 apps but at the same time, I was insecure with my profile and myself.I don't have prior internship experience and I was spending so much time on Leetcode and projects over sending multiple job apps. I was not organized and effective with my job search.
I changed my route in 2024 and improved on sending apps. It is difficult to send apps as I was sending at least 75 apps a day sometimes to not sending any apps at all. I also couldn't find any entry level postings as well.
I am right now applying to limited entry level roles and internships. Most of the roles I applied for are for software roles with at least 1 YOE. I applied for roles with at most 3 YOE and I applied for them even though I will be under-qualified. I have used all major programming languages and I am desperate to get ANY software role.
So far in 2024:

• 500 job apps ( all levels )
• 75 rejections
• 5 technical assessments
• 1 first round interview

I was also networking a lot at local software meetups. I was able to get multiple LinkedIn connections but I couldn't proceed it to the next step. I couldn't find a mentor and I doubt if they could understand the situation on breaking into tech. industry.
I don't know what else to do. I'm starting to feel embarrassed, isolated, discouraged and frustrated. I've tried to stay positive and keep pushing forward, but it's becoming increasingly difficult with each rejection or lack of response. Despite all this, my family is supportive and they are encouraging me to do grad school. I want to do grad school but I am unsure on what I want to study and pursue. I mainly want to do grad school after getting experience so I can afford it by myself.
I'm reaching out to this community in the hopes that some of you might have gone through similar experiences or have insights that could help me out.

So im looking for a summer scent that has that ”natural“ touch to it. Hard to describe but I feel like many fragrances that are good for summer have that unnatural shower gel smell to it. I Have AdG Profondo right now. Love it for the opening but it dries down into the typical blue synthetic smell that just screams ”cologne“ to me. I’m not that into niche perfumery, but maybe there’s affordable scents (below 120€) that just smell like a realistic scenario like hiking in the summer heat on Corsica or something. A scent that you smell on someone and you don’t think „oh that’s a nice cologne he’s wearing“, but more like „this guys scent reminds me of some beautiful place in Italy“ or something. I know that’s very subjective but maybe y’all get what I’m trying to say. I love light citrus fragrances, so something in that direction would be nice.
I personally liked one of the creed fragrances for this, but I can’t remember the name. It had a prominent Coconut note in it that was amazing to me. Lasted only about 30 minutes though. I can also recommend some of the more expensive Birkholz Fragrances. None of those were the perfect option for me though.

The interesting facts presented here may also be entertaining for people who do not know the work of The Loner of Providence, but some of the references may be unclear to them. The article contains several anecdotes – either from real history or from beliefs that exist in the real world, and suggestions on how they can be related to the Cthulhu mythology. So read about:

• Sea Peoples, bane of ancient civilizations,
• a forgotten Eldritch abomination from Greek mythology,
• Jan Twardowski, the first man on the Moon,
• mathematicians and physicists who wanted to know the structure of reality and lost their minds,
• one of the most mysterious characters from the Bible and a dark, occult ritual that underlies monotheism.

Invasion of the Sea Peoples
Ancient, super-advanced, fallen civilizations are one of the favorite motifs of fantasy. And truth be told, something similar happened in real history. Of course, in reality, the fallen civilizations did not have sci-fi supertechnology at their disposal, but their collapse still led to great destabilization. We are talking about the invasion of the so-called Sea Peoples, which took place at the turn of the 13th and 12th centuries BC. The Sea Peoples are mobile and warlike groups of people of unknown origin. They caused the collapse of several advanced cultures, including: Mycenaean and Hittite. Only the Egyptians managed to defeat them in a great battle. Well, the material for Lovecraftian inspiration is obvious. A mysterious army, coming out of nowhere, called the „Sea Peoples”, leading to the fall of the most powerful human civilizations at that time? Let us add that, according to some historians, the descendants of the Sea Peoples destroyed by the Egyptians were the Philistines. Yes, the same Philistines, one of whose main deities was the well-known Dagon to Lovecraftomaniacs… Deep Ones say hello. Let us also add that, according to Egyptian records, the tribes of the Sea Peoples had names such as Ekvesh, Teresh, Lucki, Sherden, Shekelesh, Tekel and Peleset. Sounds suitably dark, blasphemous and filthy? If we want to dig deeper, one of the pharaohs who ruled Egypt was Akhenaten – yes, that heretic who tried to replace the worship of traditional Egyptian gods with the religion of the Aten and who is very much liked by conspiracy theorists. Let’s add to the mix that Middle Eastern cultures had quite a negative attitude towards the sea as such. Babylonian Marduk had to defeat the giant monsters of Chaos – Apsu and Tiamat, personifications of fresh and salt waters, respectively. The Bible also contains traces of the myth about the fight between Yahweh and Leviathan, and the Book of Revelation, describing the new, ideal world, emphasizes that „I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.” Let’s assume that the players are researchers of an antiquity – historians, archaeologists, etc. They conduct research on the Sea Peoples. Of course, as common sense dictates, they assume that these were human warriors. However, as time goes on, more and more evidence appears that they were not completely human again, and the evidence of their monstrosity becomes increasingly difficult to put down to the demonization that Egyptian chroniclers used against their enemies… It becomes clear that an onslaught of inhuman and semi-human monsters came from the sea. , trying to conquer the world of that time. Moreover, after their defeat at the hands of the Egyptians, this species did not become extinct, but instead of open conquest it switched to cautious infiltration. Perhaps the Deep Ones have spies in academia who are tasked with eliminating historians who find the trail of truth…
Oh, one more interesting fact connecting the history of the Sea Peoples with Lovecraft. Well, as we know, HPL liked to use the term „Cyclopean” for huge, monumental buildings. At least he didn’t come up with it himself. Well, when the later (and at first more primitive) inhabitants, the Dorians, saw the ruins of destroyed castles left by the Mycenaean culture, they came to the conclusion that such huge buildings could not have been built by human hands, so they were probably the work of mythical giants – cyclopes.
Typhon – a classic but forgotten abomination
Modern works drawing on Greek mythology usually make Hades (completely senseless) or Kronos (a little more) the Big Bad, but they forget about Zeus’s greatest enemy – Typhon. After defeating the titans and then the gigants, the Olympian gods had to face the main boss on the way to dominating the world – Typhon. Here is an example of its description: It was larger than the largest mountains, its head touched the stars. When he stretched out his hands, one reached the eastern ends of the world and the other reached the western ends. Instead of fingers, he had a hundred dragon heads. A volcano – and volcanic activity is the result of Typhon’s anger, trying to break free. Typhon equaled the lord of heaven not only in strength, but in fertility. His wife was Echidna, about whom Hesiod wrote: „She also gave birth to another creature, invincible, huge, unlike neither men nor immortal gods, in a hollow cave – the divine violent Echidna, half a sharp-eyed young girl, with beautiful cheeks, half a huge snake, a great and powerful, spotted, cruel – in the depths of the holy land. This pair spawned many, if not most, of the monsters found in Greek mythology. Their offspring were very diverse and strange, as befits the spawn of enemies of the divine order, including: – Ladon, the hundred-headed dragon who never slept and guarded the apples that gave immortality, – Cerberus – we all know the dog guarding the gates of hell… but not all of us know that, according to some accounts, it had not three heads, but as many as 50, it was also covered with scales, and it had a snake by its tail… so what does this have to do with a dog? – Scylla – this lady inherited the most from the human, beautiful part of Echidna… at least initially, but eventually, as a result of various perturbations, she turned from a beautiful nymph to her siblings, becoming a six-headed sea beast, so hideous, according to Homer, that even the gods could not stand sight of her – she dwelt in a cave, from where she opened her mouth to devour the crews of ships, – Gorgons – I mean, those ladies with snake hair, not monstrous bulls. Medusa was one of them – the story that Athena turned her priestess into a monster as punishment for being raped by Poseidon is an invention of later poets, – Lernaean Hydra – a multi-headed monster with many reptilian or human heads. In place of each severed head, two others grew, and in addition, the main head was completely immortal – therefore, after chopping off the mortal heads, Heracles had to burn the stumps and bury the immortal, still hissing head underground. Hydra’s breath was poisonous. – various other creatures, such as the Sphinx, the dog Ortus, the Nemean Lion or the Chimera. Each of these descendants has the potential to be portrayed as an Eldritch abomination in its own right. To be precise – according to some accounts, the father of these creatures (and Echidna herself) was Typhon, but a monstrous, ancient (older than Poseidon) sea god, Phorcys. How to use Typhon? Well, Typhon clearly has the potential to be a Great Old One, imprisoned by… Nodens? Some other Elder God? Weak gods of humanity? Maybe his cult is trying to free him from Etna? What if he succeeds? What might distinguish Typhon from many other Great Old Ones? I would recommend focusing on his monster progenitor aspect – if he manages to reunite with Echidna, they will immediately start spawning various blasphemous beasts in series.
Jan Twardowski – the first man on the Moon
Jan (John) Twardowski, the hero of the legend, a Polish nobleman who allegedly sold his soul to the devil and became a sorcerer. Probably a historical figure, according to legend he lived in the 16th century and became famous for summoning the spirit of the deceased queen for King Sigismund Augustus. The ghost allegedly appeared in the mirror. This mirror is still kept in the church in Węgrów. According to legend, when the terms of the pact were fulfilled, devils came to kidnap Twardowski to hell. Interestingly, instead of taking the sorcerer’s soul after death, the most material demons appeared and grabbed Twardowski in order to kidnap him bodily, alive… and instead of heading towards the underground, which in legends is considered the traditional place of residence of demons and damned souls, they began to carry away up with him. At some point, Twardowski started singing religious songs, which caused the demons to escape, leaving him on the Moon, where he is said to have stayed ever since. Could the “demons” actually be extraterrestrials? Maybe mi-go? Maybe Twardowski was their agent and obtained secret knowledge and technology from them that gave him the fame of a sorcerer? As part of his studies, did he acquire knowledge of a system of sounds („religious songs”) that was able to drive away his masters when they decided that his usefulness on Earth had ended and it was time to transport him to a space base where he would be transformed into a brain in jar? Or was transportation to the Moon part of the deal from the beginning? Oh, one more interesting fact – according to legends, Twardowski used to use a rooster as a horse, which he enlarged with his magic. It’s easy to imagine an abomination that, in the eyes of laymen, might have resembled a large rooster… Examples of scenario hooks: – Twardowski’s secret mirror is still in the church in Węgrów. The local priest thinks it is just other „pagan” superstitions, but in fact it is a tool enabling contact with cosmic beings and higher realities. It may prove useful to players if they convince the priest to give it back or simply steal it. – Players are looking for Twardowski’s notes to gain knowledge about the „song” thanks to which he drove away mi-go (or other creatures that became the prototype of the „devils” from the legend). The so-called Twardowski’s „School” or „Cathedral” was located in a quarry near Kraków. In fact, at the end of the 19th century, during the construction of the church of St. Józef, a cave showing traces of alchemical experiments was discovered… And it was destroyed. But perhaps there is a second, secret laboratory under the cave that escaped destruction? And there lie Twardowski’s secrets… And again, potential obstacles may be placed by the local parish priest. But not only him. Maybe Twardowski’s legendary „rooster” lies dormant in the laboratory and was left by the sorcerer as a guard? – players are astronauts on the Moon. However, it turns out that someone lives here, someone who was not detected by previous expeditions and probes. Will Twardowski prove to be an ally in the fight against cosmic horrors? Or maybe their agent, or an independent villain? If he survived this long on the Moon thanks to blasphemous secrets, it’s possible that he had little humanity left…

Hi. For those who studied pharmacy and later switched to medicine, please I need help and information. I am a foreign trained pharmacist and I recently just migrated to Canada. I graduated 2020. I have done an WES evaluation of my MPharm and I have a GPA of 3.87/4.0 but am yet to write MCAT. 1. Hi all,
We're getting a kitchen fitted in 2 weeks. Last week we had a phone call from the company we bought the kitchen from saying that the fitter they recommended us to has been unreliable as of late (not turning up for jobs, leaving them half done, running over etc). They are now recommending we don't use him but essentially leaving the choice to us as he is freelance and they can't dictate to him. We gave this fitter a deposit for nearly £1500 in March (materials + 10% labour).
We have attempted to contact the fitter but he hasn't answered phone calls, emails or letters sent to his home address.
We have now found an alternative fitter, but from a legal perspective is there any way that we can get that money back?
My head is saying if we say to him that we don't want him to do the work any more, then we will be in breach of contract and will surrender the deposit which is sickening.
There is no written contract, just the quote which we accepted, so not really sure where I stand.

I am so lost on what major or career to decide I have taken multiple quizzes, talked to counselors, and reached out on multiple platforms, but I can't seem to find a career I connect to or excel in. So then I decided to find careers revolving around cosmetics or skincare and fell in love with cosmetic chemist / product formulation, but now I am having a difficult time in my biology and chemistry courses. I am able to pass, but I am not sure how long I am able to push through it. Many people tell me if I am struggling now, that at a university it will be harder. Also this is my second year and I was supposed to be already transferring, but due to the amount of requirements I am already extending my stay. I am just at the point where I feel very demotivated and disappointed in myself and my goals. I really need help finding a new major or career...
