Cross-dressing is, among other things, a form of artistic self-expression for many. When we cross-dress, we aspire to be someone other than who we are in our normal lives and fantasy definitely plays a role for many of us as well. 2024.05.29 05:49 Royal-Net7052 Tanks and moira keep stomping my games (new player)

I started playing last week and have just queued quickplay with&without pre-pricked roles to just learn the game.
Honestly it’s probably just a skill issue, but why is it that every moira and that one tank who looks like Maui from Moana go like 23/2 in every single game? Do tanks usually run games like this in higher levels? I mean I get the occasional dps that does well, but it feels like it’s usually tanks and moira that do consistently well.

2024.05.29 05:47 witusayin Friends?

Need help with some terms people are using please! I have ADHD and everytime I try to watch a video of people explaining one or two they ramble on making no sense and I feel like tearing my hair out.
I'm on Xbox btw. Not asking for someone to answer every single one of my questions but be great if you could answer ones you know if you have time :) thanks!
Pvp (player v player?) Sessions (like what constitutes as a session) Jump lobby (what is it, how do you do it) Lobby in general (what does it refer to I've seen people refer to it in so many contexts) Appearing offline (how do you do it, do you not get logged out?) Defensive (understand it now but how do you do it?) Also how can you check if someone is honourable? I always get shot by blue dots then they turn red.
Extra if interested - I've had the game for a while but only started REALLY playing 2 weeks ago-ish as I have time these days. Now rank 34 and maxed collector role now doing trader role. I'm 30 y/o female if anyone wants to team up etc. Even though I don't even know how that works lmao. Like do we do missions together, share money etc? I'm honourable and only had fights with other players one on one who started it and were just trying to be annoying but I think I'm pretty good in missions etc.

2024.05.29 05:46 No_Zebra6287 Anyone watching Jhanak?

I always see people here ranting about yrkkh/anupamaa so I thought I'd rant about another show lol.. I started watching Jhanak about 2 months ago bc I saw some edits of the lead couple and they looked cute together. The show is genuinely so bad though. If you're not watching it, you're not missing out on anything lol. I just like having something trashy to watch at the end of the day, plus now I'm invested in seeing how the love story plays out. If I tried talking about all the things wrong with this show this would turn into an entire essay so I'll just list some general thoughts I've been having while watching. Please chime in with yours!!

2024.05.29 05:46 argentum42 ART's Gatsby: An American Myth - First Preview Thoughts/Analysis

I know there have been a handful of posts about this, but I thought I'd toss in my two cents as well since this is so new. Spoilers and such for the show.
Quick notes on my musical biases/knowledge limitations and such: I haven't seen The Great Gatsby that's currently on Broadway, a lot of my own musical theatre preferences are influenced by Sondheim, I am not the most familiar with new musicals from the past decade or so (not since Fun Home and Hamilton, essentially), and I enjoy Florence and the Machine's music.
Overall, I really enjoyed it-- enough so that I actually booked tickets for a post-opening performance to see what changes are made and what it becomes. I would recommend it for those who enjoy Chekhov-- essentially, those who like to explore specific social themes through characters and are ok with bittersweet-to-kinda-downer shows. Another playwright that comes to mind is Eugene O'Neill, but I don't think the show is that much of a downer. (If I'm being pretentious, I think this is very much a playwright/theatre nerd's musical.)
The show really hones in on the novel's themes of social class (old money vs new money vs working poor), the empty/broken promises of the fabled "American Dream", and the delusions and self-destructive lengths we go to try and capture impossible dreams. There's a reason why this is subtitled "An American Myth"-- it serves as a dual reference for Gatsby in the story (a mysterious man who throws extravagant parties night after night but is never seen), and the myth of the American Dream. The show's willingness to engage with and expand on Fitzgerald's bleak themes may also be why I suspect this is opening in Boston, rather than the Public or some other off-Broadway-to-Broadway incubator in NYC-- the Big City that sells the world on promises that any poor nobody can become a rich somebody with enough personal sacrifice, as long as you're willing to pay the price. (And, accordingly, why I have a feeling that, if/when it does make it to Broadway, it will be critically lauded but may not be a big commercial draw, unfortunately. It might be too critical a mirror for a majority of the local NYC audience and too much of a bummer for tourists wanting a fun time.)
As has been mentioned in the comments of posts on this production, the role of Myrtle has been expanded from the novel. She's less of a random plot device and is now a fleshed out character with her own wants and desires. She mirrors Gatsby in a lot of ways-- she's the "what if" version if he had never met Wolfsheim and become a somebody while in pursuit of capturing what was lost.
The score and lyrics absolutely have Florence Welch's musical DNA all over it. Her moody melancholy style meshes incredibly well with the story and themes from the novel that get highlighted in the musical. I believe this is Welch's first musical, and I suspect that it's also her co-collaborator's (Thomas Bartlett) first musical as well. Their music shows a ton of promise but I think some parts still need tweaking to fit a musical structure. To me, the first act feels like a series of singles sung by the lead characters strung together with some ensemble expository songs. The score could make stronger use of musical motifs and throughlines, and ideally begin weaving it together near the end of the first act. However, things do all beautifully come together as a cohesive whole for Act 2; it just feels a little late at that point, in my opinion.
The cast is incredible. Props to all from ensemble to leads. Solea Pfeiffer as Myrtle and Charlotte Macinnes as Daisy are both riveting. Isaac Powell plays a very humanized Gatsby-- mysterious one moment, but a total dork the moment he has a tea party with Daisy. Ben Levi Ross' Nick is wry and yes, the gay/lesbian subtext from the novel becomes textual for both him and Eleri Ward's Jordan.
Analyzing choreography is not my strong suit, but there are some strong Fosse influences. Myrtle's death scene stands out in my mind with its delicate but impactful staging.
The set is a minimalist, gnarled chrome mass of automobile bits with a set of stairs that pivot out to wooden bookshelves of books. The band is also on stage on the often-used second level. Rachel Chavkin, the director, had a preshow speech and noted that two set pieces weren't ready yet. Honestly likely would not have noticed had she not mentioned it.
Anyway, would love to hear others' thoughts on the show. It's been a while since I've felt like nerding out over a musical.

2024.05.29 05:45 iWillRe1gn Directorial FOMO

I have all these big ideas but I fear I'll never get good enough fast enough to achieve them the way I envision them.
I have stories with characters I envision to be played by actors like Dicaprio, Gyllenhaal, etc. and ONLY those actors.
And it sucks that I'm at a skill level so infantile that I fear that when I do get to my prime decades down the road, the actors might pass theirs and be too old for the roles.

2024.05.29 05:45 minostronie CS/SWE networking and career advice as a mature-age student

Hi all,
I am looking for some suggestions or insights on how to navigate (and advance) my career as a career-changer and mature-age student. Any contribution or perspectives welcome. Questions can be as useful as comments.
Why I am asking
I watched this Ted Talk recently and it prompted me to ask. I recommend it if you haven't seen it.
I have spent the last 4 years working hard in isolation to try and build my skills and break into the industry, but I have completely neglected to build a network, as well as ask for help and advice.
I'm trying to break that habit now. To be clear, I am not looking for anyone to solve my problems. But insights or thought-provoking questions to help me, help myself would be invaluable.
Context
I'm 31, live in Geelong Victoria, am a part-time CS student (half-way through, studying remotely) and have been working full-time as a junior web developer for the last 12 months. I was working part-time prior to that for another 6 months so I could make financial ends meet by working splitting my time with my other, higher-paying job.
As such, I have half a degree and 12-18 months-ish of experience. And I acknowledge this very fortunate as securing that first job can very difficult.
However, I am looking for guidance on how to maximise my trajectory from this position given that I have dedicated a lot of time and effort towards breaking into tech and took a rather sizeable pay cut.
I would also add the company is small and there's only a few devs, with the one senior making all the decisions, meaning I get little mentoring and there's no strong engineering-based conversations. We use Laravel and are just trying to get products out the door and get paid, very digital agency style.
There is nothing wrong with this, it's just not where I ultimately want to be or the technologies I want to use (and build skill with).
None of this is to say "poor me", just set some context for why I am trying to recover lost time and finances as much as possible.
Goals
Generally speaking, I'd like to find a role where I: - Use CS fundamentals more. I'm thinking backend work, building proficiency with a statically typed language, etc. rather than doing more plug-and-play web development using a batteries-included framework. - Am part of a bigger team, so I can learn from those around me and have discussions about tech. - Increase my earning potential and move beyond an entry-level salary (given I don't feel entry-level age) and have taken "backwards" financial steps in the hope of taking bigger strides forward.
I know everyone wants the perfect job and they aren't just handed out on platters. I am realistic. I'm just trying to learn how I can open up better opportunities, and do it sooner rather than later.
##### Advice that exists The top comment on this post about how to make good use of your time while studying CS suggests:
While in course:
  • Secure an internship/placement ASAP
  • Network, join relevant clubs, meet people in industry, make connections
  • Build a portfolio outside of course work
  • Find out what you really need to know for your planned career
  • Learn practical concepts beyond the course like Git, containers
  • Figure out a course plan well in advance
bold = Do these 2, if absolutely nothing else. They will take your career further more than anything.
I think this is excellent advice and would echo its importance.
And while it is still relevant to me, I also tend to think it's more applicable to younger, entering-the-work-force-for-the-first-time students. But I could be wrong!
What I think my problems are
I feel like I am a little stuck -- or moving slowly -- due to the following broad problems: - Opportunities for promotion and growth in my current role are very limited (not just financial, but skills and experience-wise). - I'm not yet academically credentialed nor oozing with industry experience, either. - Non-existent network, a factor of both being a remote student and having only been at a single, small company.
My questions
All of this leads me to the following questions: - Do I simply need to stay the course? I am trying to be proactive, rather than complacent, but it is possible I'm only achieving impatience. - Are university organised networking events and internship opportunities likely to be useful for me or are they distractions at this point? - Is there better advice for someone in my position than what I highlighted above? And if so, what are the high-impact activities someone in this position should be focusing on? - Is there any obvious truths or ideas that I am missing?
Conclusion and connect if you like
Thanks so much for reading this far. Also, to help me build that network, please feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn. Also, if you're interested, I recently built my portfolio, and I would be open to any feedback you have on that.
I'm also open to collaborating on projects or trying to help you in any way that you think I might be able to.
Thanks again. Any contribution, big or small, is greatly appreciated.
Have a great day, Redditors.
(This is my first ever post, if I unknowingly committed any sins, please feel free to draw my attention to them.)

2024.05.29 05:43 cottongrassmound Prehistoric fiction disappoints me!

I only recently began reading fiction again, starting with Earthsea which I adored. Pretty soon after, I learned prehistoric fiction was a thing. I was so excited by this personal discovery...and so disappointed after reading many well-known books within it. For one, sex/infidelity/assault/pregnancy/childrearing almost always plays a central role of the plot. Secondly, shamans. Every single book, it's shamans. This is exhausting. My interest in prehistory lies in material culture and lifeways, not shamans, or sacred animals appearing in human form, or vice versa (although I do not doubt prehistoric peoples were animist in worldview and in spirituality). I want to read something wholesome and with depth, a truly captivating story whose setting happens to be in prehistory. I may have no choice but to write it myself.

🔗Water Buffalo Leather .22 Revolver Holster for Single Action Wheelguns

I've been using the Versacarry. 22 Cal. Single Action Revolver Holster for a while now, and I've got to say it's a pretty cool accessory to have. It's made from premium water buffalo leather, which is quite a step up from the average holster material. The sturdy belt loop ensures that your revolver stays securely in place, even when you're on the move.
One downside I noticed is that it only supports single-action. 22 caliber revolvers, so if you're using a different kind, you'll have to look elsewhere. But overall, I'm really happy with this holster. It's well-made, and the quality is top-notch. I've had no issues with it so far, and I'm confident it'll serve me well in the future.

🔗Durable 22 Cal. Single Action Revolver Holster for Wheelgun Lovers

I recently tried out this Versacarry. 22 Cal. Single Action Revolver Holster, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed by its sturdy construction and comfortable fit.
Made from premium water buffalo leather, this holster is well-suited for all those. 22 reproduction Colt Single Action Army revolvers and similarly sized wheelguns. What stood out to me the most was the secure belt loop and open bottom design, which provided a snug fit without any unnecessary bulk. Overall, this is a great choice for any cowboy looking to protect and carry their. 22 Cal single action revolver in style.

🔗Concealed Carry Inside-the-Waistband Handgun Holster

https://preview.redd.it/7ardd8lyda3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f7168c26a1c9a9fdbc5481141f9d8d9e3bc5e6bd
As a frequent user of this Inside-the-Waistband Handgun Holster, I must say it has its pros and cons. Firstly, the lightweight design featuring a sturdy nylon shell and soft brushed tricot interior is a boon for me. It effectively safeguards my 9mm auto handgun without compromising on comfort.
However, the metal spring clip, though handy, sometimes slips over the top of my pants or belt, which can be a bit inconvenient. Also, the 3.5-inch size works great for my Ruger LCP, but it might be a bit too snug for larger models.
Another feature I appreciate is its versatility as it can be used as a hip holster or inside the pants, allowing for an adjustable and comfortable fit. Despite its excellent qualities, the holster lacks a retention strap, which can be a drawback, especially when you're on the move.

🔗North American Arms Mini-Rev Pocket Holster 22MAG for Enhanced Precision and Comfort

https://preview.redd.it/fzlxd1yyda3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cdd1f9a0f6674a08b6323322ee6b3c62d7725963
As a fellow gun enthusiast, I recently came across the North American Arms Mini-Rev Pocket Holster 22MAG and decided to give it a try. Having used it for a while now, I must say it has made a notable difference in my shooting experience.
The first thing that stood out to me was the secure grip it provides for my mini revolver. It holds the weapon firmly in place, which ultimately enhances my precision and accuracy during target practice. However, I must admit that the holster's size can be a bit of a drawback at times. It may not be the most suitable option for those who prefer a larger holster for their mini revolver.
Despite its minor flaws, the North American Arms Mini-Rev Pocket Holster 22MAG has proven to be a reliable and comfortable accessory for my mini revolver. If you're looking for a secure and compact solution for your mini revolver, this pocket holster might just be the perfect addition to your arsenal.

🔗Desantis Wild Hog Ruger GP100 Holster - Ambidextrous Leather Cross Draw Option

https://preview.redd.it/hk8u9zczda3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0b74f74f275a5fbc010d35dfe882bd476234add6
The Desantis Wild Hog Holster is a versatile and comfortable option for carrying your Ruger Single Six 5.5" Revolver. Made from top-quality leather, it fits snugly around your waist and can be worn cross draw or with a forward cant. Its belt accommodating design allows you to adjust the tension for a perfect fit, ensuring your gun stays securely in place throughout the day.
While the Wild Hog may be a bit heavier on your pocket, it's a reliable, durable, and stylish choice for any revolver enthusiast. Overall, if you're looking for a holster that provides both style and functionality, this leather holster is worth considering.

🔗Stylish Space Cowboy Holster for H&K 45 Revolver

https://preview.redd.it/crwg72ozda3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=97f56c670ff99530f82976b6c8173e40de36db9a
As a gun enthusiast, I've always been on the lookout for premium quality holsters to keep my scoped revolvers secure. So, when I came across the Triple K Space Cowboy Holster, I knew it was worth a try. The full-grain leather holster is certainly a sight to behold, with its classic design that's both stylish and functional.
What stood out to me was the sturdiness and security the holster offered. It was a perfect fit for my Smith and Wesson 629 Stealth Hunter, with its 7.5" barrel. I appreciated the tie-off leg strap, which added stability and ensured my holster stays in place during all my outdoor adventures.
However, I found the price quite steep for the level of craftsmanship involved. The belt loop's snap mechanism feels a tad flimsy and might not be the best fit for larger and heavier revolvers.
Despite these minor drawbacks, I would still recommend the Triple K Space Cowboy Holster to any gun enthusiast looking for a premium, high-quality holster to keep their prized scoped revolver close at hand.

🔗High-Quality, Durable 22 Revolver Holster for Women

https://preview.redd.it/zlf0p450ea3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=24c4793ec0174fea82ac1a7894e1ecdf959266ab
I recently had the chance to try out this Hilason Western Right Hand Gun Holster Rig, and let me say, it's a pretty impressive piece of equipment. First off, the holster itself is beautifully crafted, with a genuine leather finish that gives it a nice, old-timey cowboy feel. The stitching was tight and precise, and the metal core casing made it unbreakable and non-collapsible.
One thing that stood out to me was the holster's versatility. Not only does it fit most barrel lengths ranging from 4 to 8 inches, but it's also been designed with a leg tie and leg flap behind the holster, enhancing its durability and comfort. This made it perfect for a daily wear gun holster, whether I was walking around town or out on the range.
That being said, there were a couple of things that I wasn't completely thrilled about. For one, the holster does have quite a few holes punched an inch apart, which could make it a bit confusing to figure out the correct size for your specific pants. While the provided measurements worked for me, I can see how this could be an issue for others.
Additionally, while the gun holster fits most barrel lengths, it's made specifically for a right-handed shooter, which could make it a bit limiting for left-handed shooters looking to use this holster.
Overall, though, I've really enjoyed using this Hilason Western Right Hand Gun Holster Rig. The combination of its high-quality craftsmanship and versatile design make it a top choice for any gun enthusiast looking to up their holster game.

🔗Quality Western-style leather holster for 703 Revolver

https://preview.redd.it/1u1qu8f0ea3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8cc31a3c84328ee28be4e18682b057260b95170e
The Denix Old West Leather Holster is a must-have accessory for anyone who loves the authentic feel of the Wild West. Not only does it look the part, but it also feels and functions like a genuine holster should. The craftsmanship is evident in the beautifully tooled leather design, which adds a touch of class to your 1873 non-firing replica or Colt Peacemaker pistol.
One of the things I appreciate most about this holster is the ease of use. The right-draw design ensures that your firearm is always easily accessible when you need it, and the adjustable leg-tie makes it comfortable to wear for extended periods. The shell loops on the belt are a nice touch, as they accommodate the replica shells that fit these pistols, adding another level of realism.
As with any product, there are a few minor drawbacks. The holster isn't the most compact option out there, which can make it a bit tricky to carry around if you're planning to go somewhere where you might need to hide your firearm. Additionally, the medium waist size might not be perfect for everyone, so it's something to consider before making a purchase.
Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed with the Denix Old West Leather Holster. It's a top-quality product that adds a touch of authenticity to any enthusiast's collection. If you're looking for a durable, functional, and stylish holster that captures the spirit of the Old West, this is the one to get.

Buyer's Guide

When it comes to selecting the perfect 22 revolver holster, there are several factors to consider. These factors will ultimately determine the overall quality and durability of your holster, and more importantly, its ability to safely carry and protect your revolver.

Adjustable Retention

https://preview.redd.it/ckk7p7u0ea3d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fc8b0bf623c725c4a29892588e407a27fccc6055
An adjustable retention system allows you to customize the tightness of your holster to suit your needs. This feature is especially important when it comes to concealed carry, as you want to ensure that your holster can securely retain your 22 revolver without being too tight, making it difficult to draw in case of an emergency.

Material and Build Quality

2024.05.29 05:36 akib360 chinese atv start button not working

Picture this: you’re all geared up for an exhilarating ATV adventure, but when you hit the start button, nothing happens. Frustrating, right? The start button is a small yet crucial component of your ATV, responsible for initiating your ride. When it fails, it can put a damper on your plans. This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to troubleshoot and fix a non-working start button on a Chinese ATV.

Understanding the Start Button Mechanism

Before diving into the troubleshooting steps, let’s understand how the start button works. When you press the start button, it sends an electrical signal to the starter solenoid, which then activates the starter motor to crank the engine. The start button, wiring, battery, solenoid, and starter motor all play vital roles in this process.

Common Reasons for a Malfunctioning Start Button

Electrical Issues

Electrical problems are a common culprit. These can range from a dead battery to faulty wiring or a blown fuse. Ensuring all electrical connections are secure and functioning is critical.

Mechanical Failures

Mechanical issues, such as a stuck start button or a faulty starter motor, can also cause problems. These require a more hands-on approach to diagnose and fix.

Environmental Factors

Dust, moisture, and extreme temperatures can affect the functionality of your ATV’s start button. Ensuring your ATV is stored properly and protected from the elements can prevent these issues.

Diagnosing the Problem

Initial Checks and Safety Precautions

Before starting any troubleshooting, ensure the ATV is on a flat surface and the ignition is off. Wear protective gloves and eyewear to avoid any accidents.

Tools Required for Diagnosis

Inspecting the Battery

Importance of a Good Battery Connection

A good battery connection is essential for the start button to work. Corroded or loose connections can prevent the necessary electrical current from reaching the starter motor.

Checking Battery Voltage and Connections

Use a multimeter to check the battery voltage. A fully charged ATV battery should read around 12.6 volts. If it’s below this, the battery might be dead or need recharging. Inspect the battery terminals for corrosion and clean them if necessary.

Examining the Start Button Itself

Visual Inspection of the Start Button

Look for any visible damage or dirt on the start button. Dirt and grime can interfere with the button’s operation.

Testing the Start Button’s Functionality

Use a multimeter to test the continuity of the start button. If pressing the button doesn’t close the circuit, it might be faulty and need replacing.

Checking the Wiring and Connections

Identifying Wiring Issues

Trace the wiring from the start button to the starter solenoid. Look for any signs of damage, such as frayed wires or loose connections.

Ensuring Secure Connections

Ensure all connections are tight and secure. Loose connections can interrupt the electrical flow and prevent the ATV from starting.

Inspecting the Starter Solenoid

Role of the Starter Solenoid

The starter solenoid acts as a switch, allowing a large current to flow from the battery to the starter motor. If it fails, the starter motor won’t engage.

Testing the Solenoid for Faults

Use a multimeter to check for continuity across the solenoid terminals. If there’s no continuity when the start button is pressed, the solenoid might need replacement.

Evaluating the Starter Motor

How the Starter Motor Works

The starter motor is responsible for turning over the engine when you press the start button. It needs a strong current from the battery to function correctly.

Signs of a Faulty Starter Motor

If the starter motor makes a clicking sound or doesn’t turn at all, it might be faulty. Testing the motor typically involves ensuring it receives power and checking for any internal issues.

Examining Fuses and Relays

Importance of Fuses and Relays in the Starting System

Fuses and relays protect the electrical components from surges and ensure the correct flow of electricity. A blown fuse or faulty relay can prevent the ATV from starting.

How to Check and Replace Fuses and Relays

Inspect the fuses for any signs of burning or damage. Replace any blown fuses with ones of the same rating. Check relays by swapping them with a known good one if available.

Environmental Factors

Impact of Weather and Terrain on the ATV Start Button

Exposure to moisture, mud, and extreme temperatures can cause electrical components to fail. Regular cleaning and proper storage can mitigate these issues.

Preventative Measures

Keep your ATV covered when not in use, and avoid riding through deep water or mud whenever possible. Regularly clean and inspect the start button and related components.

Maintenance Tips to Prevent Future Issues

Regular Maintenance Practices

Regularly check the battery, wiring, and connections. Cleaning and lubricating the start button can prevent it from sticking.

Tips for Keeping the Start Button and Related Components in Good Condition

Use electrical contact cleaner to remove any dirt or grime from the start button. Ensure all electrical connections are tight and free from corrosion.

When to Seek Professional Help

Signs That You Need Professional Assistance

If you’ve tried all the above steps and the start button still doesn’t work, it might be time to consult a professional. Persistent issues or a lack of proper tools and experience are clear indicators.

How to Find a Reliable ATV Mechanic

Look for mechanics with good reviews and experience with Chinese ATVs. Personal recommendations and online forums can be helpful resources.

DIY vs. Professional Repair

Pros and Cons of DIY Repairs

DIY repairs can save money and provide a sense of accomplishment. However, they require time, tools, and a certain level of expertise.

Understanding the Limits of DIY Fixes

Some issues might be beyond the scope of DIY fixes, especially if they involve complex electrical or mechanical components. Knowing when to seek professional help is crucial.

Conclusion

Dealing with a non-working start button on your Chinese ATV can be frustrating, but with a methodical approach, you can diagnose and fix most issues yourself. Regular maintenance and proper care can prevent many problems, ensuring your ATV is always ready for your next adventure.

FAQs

What should I do if my ATV won’t start at all?

First, check the battery and connections, then inspect the start button and related wiring. If everything seems fine, test the starter solenoid and motor.

How often should I check my ATV’s start button and related components?

It’s a good practice to inspect these components every few months or before any long ride to ensure everything is in working order.

Can I replace the start button myself?

Yes, replacing the start button is usually a straightforward task. Make sure to disconnect the battery before starting the replacement to avoid any electrical issues.

What are some signs of a failing starter motor?

Common signs include a clicking sound when pressing the start button, the motor not turning, or the engine cranking slowly.

Are there any preventative measures to avoid start button issues?

Regularly clean and inspect the start button and keep your ATV stored in a dry, protected area. Avoid riding through harsh conditions that can damage electrical components.

2024.05.29 05:35 Electronic_Job_2005 Weird FIFA 23 "Undefined" Glitch Experience

One day I was playing FIFA 23 career mode as a manager. I had made a lot of progress, turning a previously amateur team into an almost unstoppable one. I was only on my third season when this happened.
I was getting ready for the next game when I decided to change some of the roles. I changed the captain, but then I looked at who was taking the short free kicks. Their name came up as "undefined", no capital letters. I clicked it, and then my game froze on an extremely glitched screen.
The word "DEF", which means defense was scattered across the screen, with some of the player info in random spots. I looked in the top left corner, and saw what looked to be a custom player who was white and had blonde hair, with the name "undefined". My game crashed immediately after.
I reopened the game and opened to the last save of my career mode journey. It had deleted some of my saves and set me all the way back to the first season. I went to check if this happened to other people, but then something caught my eye.
Career mode stars is a website that I used to find good players to sign, and I vividly remember going to a page to find some good midfielders on season two. I never went active on the site after, but also never closed it after. I came across it on my way to check Reddit. Instead of the page with the midfielders, it showed a page I had went to on season one. This was really weird, but I am not sure if this was just a coincidence or I am just remembering wrong.
I checked Reddit, and other people have encountered this issue but never had an experience as wild as this. Before I started my manager career my game was extremely laggy, and even some of my keys occasionally stopped working. But after the saves were deleted, it went back to normal, even seemed like it was less laggy than I had ever seen. If you know anything about this, please let me know.

2024.05.29 05:30 Scubasteve1974 Question about ranking

I'm confused about how the ranking system works now. I've only played quick play since ow2. But I play quite a bit. Probably on average about 10 hours a week. I was ranked gold/high silver always on OW. I felt like I could reach plat if I really cared too. I also play flex most of the time and feel like I'm of about or similar skill on all roles. Maybe slightly better as support.
I did two of my placement games, won both. I played well as damage in both games. I was the top player one round and equal to the too player (strictly stats speaking) but I played a pretty big role in both games. After that, it tells me I'm headed for a Bronze 1 rank? I'm confused. My understanding is that it took your previous rank in Overwatch into account. I've never been bronze and I'm assuming that is thr lowest bronze rank?
I stopped even bothering with placements after that. What am I missing?

2024.05.29 05:25 TudorTolkienTits Help, fitness is boring!

I'm neurodivergent and no matter how much I try to be consistent at something, I eventually come to resent it and stop doing it. What I've learned works for me is gamifying tasks. I used to do Zombies, Run! for cardio, and I wrote a Dungeons and Dragons themed fitness role playing game that was incredible, but it's not fun to play alone and my workout buddy moved away. I tried a few dance and sport Switch games, but they aren't enough of a workout.
Everyone says to make a schedule, get into a habit, or be consistent, but I cannot stress enough how that is a lifelong tried and failed method for me. Are there any other fitness games or fun apps I can do at home or at the gym?

2024.05.29 05:25 AmatoxinFantasies This is gonna sound dumb but how do you tag a game?

This is gonna sound like the dumbest question ever and I'm working on making my first actually published game so I want to tag it properly so like how do you tag a game? Like RPGs? It's a Role Playing Game but don't you play a role in every game? Or genres like horror but monsters don't appear until like a third of the way through? What makes something a visual novel VS. an interactive fiction game?
JRPGs are technically only made in Japan but I'd consider CrossCode a JRPG based on the style.
When does something stop being an adventure game?
Do I just base it off vibes? Am I just splitting hairs?
Like this is the basic premise of my game:
A small town is infested with parasitic monsters that take over people's bodies and completely controls them and one of the only signs is that they're really happy. You follow around a 17 year old girl trying to just survive in a town filled with controlled people. It's focused less on combat (though there are a couple battles) and monsters and more on the threat that anyone could have one of the parasites in them. Right now I'm planning on making it more like a 3d stylized comic book style in a black, white, and one other color style.
What tags do I put for that? Should I just wait until I have the prologue ready for people to play and then ask them what they think?
Right now on my itch page I have 'Monsters,' 'Narrative,' 'story rich', and 'horror,' but does it count as horror since I'm not completely in your face with the monsters? Would it count as psychological horror since besides like 3-4 monsters no others really appear it's just the threat of them? Is it action or just a story with action elements?

As an abuse survivor I am willing to bet Skeeve'n is 1000% why she is using disclaimers like hormonal/perimenopausal/etc
Laura's recent laundry room posting with Stephen looking like the thin white dookie* gave me serious flashbacks to 2017, when my business, romantic, and domestic partner, 10 years older than me, started talking to me about perimenopause before it was relevant or necessary. He did this, I strongly suspect, to make me feel like he was the best I could do and I should cling to him and be so grateful for his attention in my advanced, withering state.
Right now I see very two separate possibilities with Miss laura: either the two of them are really close and she's a completely rotten person, totally sane, totally calculating, just laughing at everybody thinking she's in danger, or she's actually in danger.
There are kids involved. I don't know how anyone's going to get the message to her but I hope someone does, domestic abuse cripples your brain before it cripples your body. This is spoken by someone who just got needles in her brain, AKA occipital nerve blocks, today, to counteract some of the damage done by the monster who hurt me in 2017.
There's the possibility that Laura's inability to see what a craphound Skeevin' is... is making her more annoying to watch, which is making people turn their back on her, which makes her more isolated and easier to abuse.
Yes, yada yada yada she's a Hollywood star or whatever even if it's B or C list or D list, but you know we all create our own echo chambers.
This community has been great, but it's starting to trigger me so I should probably take some space from it. I appreciate everybody here. But, short of a banner drop, I don't know how anybody's going to get the message to her in a way that she will hear. Maybe somebody can send her both the power & control wheel and the equity wheel.
