- 5-14-2024CAN EATING OR DRINKING CAFFEINE BEFORE BED IMPACT YOUR HEALTH? Having a lot of food in your stomach before bed can redirect blood flow to your gut to digest the food, meaning there is less blood flow going to your brain. You need that blood flow to your brain to make sure you go into the different sleep stages. If you have caffeine in your system or are sensitive to it, the time to fall asleep can double. Caffeine has a half-life of up to 4.5 hours, so a safe bet is to avoid caffeine after noon.

2024.05.15 15:56 Blackcanary2323 IVF local monitoring
I will be doing IVF next month in Colorado so I need a local place to monitor me that offers same day results. I’ve tried a few places already and I’m sure someone else has gone through this! Would appreciate any direction. I live in Nampa.
Update: after calling 10+ places I found a doctor in downtown Boise who offered to monitor me as long as I made the commitment to see them for my whole pregnancy if successful! They offered same day results, and will fit me in same/next day if needed. Thank you!!

2024.05.15 02:41 PapaBiddle Enucleation: is it the best option?
• Species: Canine (dog) • Age: 4 y.o. • Sex/Neuter status: neutered • Breed: Labrador retrieveChesapeake Bay retriever • Body weight: 80 lbs • History: healthy- no major issues • Clinical signs: uveal mass w/cystic component • Duration: first noticed March 25th, 2024 • Your general location: Colorado, USA
On March 25th I noticed a red “bubble” in my dog’s eye (inside the eyeball). I monitored for a few days and there was no change; he wasn’t showing any signs of pain/discomfort but it didn’t go away. I made a vet appointment on 3/29/24 with our primary vet. The primary vet initially thought it was a hematoma from potentially hitting his head or playing too rough. He ran a glaucoma test, ulcer test, checked for abrasions, and did blood work (all came back normal). He prescribed dexamethasone sodium phosphate eyedrops to administer 3x per day for 1 week. We followed up with our primary vet on 4/5/24, there was no change after using the drops for 1 week. At this point he referred us to an animal ophthalmologist. We scheduled the appointment for 4/26/24 (that was the earliest option they had).
On 4/20/24 he showed signs of pain/discomfort so we decided to bring him into the emergency vet. They redid the glaucoma test, ulcer test, and checked for abrasions (all normal). They virtually consulted with an ophthalmologist (sending photos and test results). This ophthalmologist diagnosed it as a uveal mass and recommended enucleation. They sent him home with carprofen 100mg 1x/day, gabapentin 200mg 2x/day, and neo/poly/dex ophthalmic solution 2x/day.
On Monday 4/22/24 we called the ophthalmologist office we had our original appointment scheduled with for 4/26/24. We asked to be seen earlier for a second opinion on the uveal mass diagnosis from the emergency vet. They got us in on 4/22; in which they repeated the tonometry test, fluorescein stain, and also did a schirmer tear test. All were negative/normal. The ophthalmologist did an exam of his eye with different scopes and agreed with the diagnosis of uveal mass; however he said there’s a cystic component as well. Below are the results of all the diagnostic tests they ran:
Schirmer Tear Test - Initial: 27 mm/30s 22 mm/30s Fluorescen Stain - Initial: Negative Negative Tono Vet Rebound Tonometry-Initial: 3 mmHg 12 mmHg Menace Response: Good Good Dazzle Reflex: Good Good Pupillary Light Reflex (PLR): Normal Normal Biomicroscopy: Abnormal Normal Binocular Indirect Ophth.: NSF Normal
He recommended enucleation with biopsy of the mass. He said the mass wouldn’t be surgically resectable which is why the full removal is necessary.
We have scheduled his surgery for the end of this week. I’m mostly just feeling guilty and nervous that he’s so young. I am happy we got the second opinion and I trust the vet teams; I just want to be sure that this is the right course of treatment for my boy.
I tried to link the photos in the comment below. I haven’t ever done that before so I apologize if it’s not the right way.
Thank you all!

2024.05.14 23:53 amostdelicioussalad (Colorado) My employer is installing a system to monitor how long people use the bathroom at work. Is this legal?
Our employer is installing system in the bathroom where you have to use your company key fob to open the doors to the bathroom stalls. The system then produces a report of how long long each employee spends in the stall. The owner of the company says that he will be publishing the data weekly so that we all know who is "wasting time in the bathroom" instead of working on projects. This feels like a major violation of privacy. Is this legal?

I'm backpacking Four Pass in Maroon Bells June 21-24. I'm expecting some snow while there and planning to bring spikes in case, but was wondering if anyone from the area could comment on this season's snow and avalanche levels. (I'm not from Colorado and so it's not something I've monitored.) Thanks in advance for any guidance on what to expect!

MY REBUTTAL TO THE OBLIGATORY “IS THIS A SCAM?” QUESTION: At the risk of sounding arrogant, I consider myself to be at least marginally more intelligent (both academically & socially) than the average person. Therefore, if I ever decided to suddenly risk prison time, risk my reputation, and risk enduring the wrath of modern-day “cancel culture” by scamming people out of their money:
- I certainly wouldn’t do it for such paltry amounts of money. (i.e., anything less than $1,000 per victim.)
- I certainly wouldn’t choose high school & college students as my “target audience” to scam, considering that most people without college degrees have abysmally low annual incomes. Why choose low-income victims when it would be much more profitable to target high-income, high-net-worth individuals earning at least six figures a year? I have knowledge in business consulting, and I promise you that a business owner would be a MUCH more lucrative mark than a low-income college student.
- I wouldn’t choose such a time & energy-draining method of scamming people. Also, communicating back and forth with potential clients is an absurdly long time sink since only less than 10% of all potential clients who reach out to me actually become paying clients of mine. This means that 90% of my time communicating with potential clients ultimately proves to be a colossal waste of my irretrievable time & energy.
- If you pay me to provide academic services and I don’t deliver, you can always dispute the payment with the payment app and easily get your money refunded. If I were in the habit of swindling money from people, then all of my payment accounts would have been investigated and be completely shut down by now. And I would have been permanently banned from opening new accounts. Therefore, the fact that all my payment apps have been fully active for years should be sufficient proof that I haven’t had people consistently disputing payments sent to me.
HOW TO CONTACT ME: - If you are interested in my services and would like to learn more info, please feel free to reach out to me.
- Text messages and email are the fastest and easiest ways to get in touch with me. However, I gladly accept phone calls.
- If I don't respond right away, I am most likely helping a student at the time and not currently available to speak on the phone. But I always make a solid effort to reply to texts, emails, and phone calls within an hour.

2024.05.13 02:10 Mcrmygirl15 No idea where to start 😬
What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.
- running games, not completely sure which yet, interested in things like Reka, baulders gate 3, Elden ring, Fortnite
What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?
When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.
What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (ToweOS/monitokeyboard/mouse/etc)
- toweOS/keyboard and mouse
Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?
- Colorado, USA. Yes I have a microcenter
If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.
Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?
Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)
Do you have any specific case preferences (Size like ITX/microATX/mid-towefull-tower, styles, colors, window or not, LED lighting, etc), or a particular color theme preference for the components?
- I like pastel colors like pink and purple, but not necessary
Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference?

2024.05.12 14:53 Fender_Stratoblaster Request: PC for Quest 3 - $1,800 Budget
**What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.**
* Primary purpose is to run a Meta Quest 3 VR setup as best my budget allows, with no planned future upgrades except one additional m.2 storage at some point. I do not own the Quest 3 but that is the one I am targeting.
**What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?**
* $1,800
**When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.**
* Two months from now.
**What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (ToweOS/monitokeyboard/mouse/etc\)**
* Mid-ToweOS
**Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?**
* Colorado. I have a Micro Center one hour away so I would be looking at packages there before I buy. It would have to be worth the drive, LOL!
**If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.**
* ASUS 27" Monitor-PG278Q-2560x1440-144Hz-1ms
**Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?**
* No
**Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)**
* 2tb m.2 storage
* 32gb ram
**Do you have any specific case preferences (Size like ITX/microATX/mid-towefull-tower, styles, colors, window or not, LED lighting, etc), or a particular color theme preference for the components?**
* Mid-tower; not glass, lean toward mesh, open to breathe. Preference is no RGB so avoid it if possible, especially on fans. But recommend the item if it is the best one for reliability and cost.
**Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference?**
* Yes. Windows 11 Home.

2024.05.09 01:44 OperationSwimming419 Furrion vision S with multiple trailers
I have two fifth wheel trailers. One in Alaska and one I just purchased in Colorado. Both have backup and side view cameras. I have the 7” vision S monitor in my truck. Before I bought the new trailer the monitor was paired with the Alaska trailer cameras. The monitor paired fine with the new trailer cameras. Now I’m back in Alaska and it won’t pair with the Alaska trailer cameras. Has anyone had experience with this?

2024.05.08 22:54 BaconJakin How might another pandemic outbreak affect the election?
There is currently pandemic of H5N1 Avian Influenza in large populations of cows around the US. Scientists fear a cycle of it transmitting to pigs, and then humans from there. At a local town hall in Colorado, it was announced that 70 people are currently being monitored for symptoms of Bird Flu. H5N1 Bird Flu historically has an over 50% mortality rate in humans. How would another, much deadlier pandemic outbreak over the summer affect the 2024 election and Joe Biden’s chances at reelection against Trump?

2024.05.08 09:15 Competitive_Band_125 Anyone else move to high altitude (or somewhere w/ low barometric pressure) to discover it’s a migraine trigger?
Moved from low altitude South Florida to extreme high altitude w/ extreme low barometric pressure in 2017 (near Denver, Colorado)
I’m almost 40, never lived outside of Florida, I thought for a couple years that I had headaches due to allergies in Colorado; I saw an allergist last month for a full test, I’m allergic to nothing.
I see a neurologist next week my Dr ordered for possible seizures, but now I am much more interested in speaking to the neuro about migraines as I know for certain what caused my seizure (skipping my seizure medication that day) but the migraine thing has been a real mystery.
Honestly thought it was long Covid for over a year now. I have tinnitus too..
Apparently low barometric pressure & extreme pressure dips are known migraine triggers I learned, and have been meticulously monitoring barometric pressure and comparing it with how I feel.
The verdict is in, I don’t even need to see the neurologist to tell me that living here in Colorado is the cause of my migraines. But I’m going anyways because my insurance covers it, and I’d like to see what they say.
I find this extremely difficult for me to explain to people here, that I can’t go out, or I have to call out of work due to a 3 day migraine attack due to low pressure. I sound crazy even to myself.
Anyone else?
