Front end noise & Different Struts?
I've been trying to find a noise in the front end of my 2010 Honda Civic Sport 1.8L on the passenger side. It makes a screech only when going over speed bumps and its now making a noise when on rough roads. I don't know if you'd call it a clunk or a rattle though, somewhere in-between.
Put the car up on jacks, but l am just getting into suspension work so l am check everything based on YouTube videos. I doubts its outer tie rods, control arm bushings, or stabilizer linkages because they were all replaced by a shop a little over 2 year ago. Everything seems tight when checked and compressing the suspension with the jack doesn't replicable the noise. Car also doesn't bunch excessively when you push down on the corners and there is no oil around either shock so I think they are still ok.
Last fall I replaced a ball joint on the passenger side due to excessive play and this spring I noticed that the CV joint on that side is throwing grease from where the boot meets the axel. The CV axel hasn't been changed yet but it isn't making any noising in a turn yet so I had ruled it out. The only thing I noticed was that the coil spring on the struts look different on the left or right-side. (Pictures Attached) maybe the pervious owner had a to change one and its just different manufacturers? It almost looks like ones upside down but ha've had the car for about 5 years and aside from the suspension work listed above I haven't had any issues.
Could this be the problem? Or should I be looking elsewhere?
Thank you in advance for anyone who takes the time to answer!
TLDR : Coil springs look different on the two front struts of a 2010 Honda Civic Sport 1.8L.Wondering they could be causing front end noise.

2024.05.15 19:47 VicariousDrow Canonical Origin Companion Multiclasses

Hey guys, took a break from BG3 for a bit but recently came back for my, I think, 7th playthrough and recently finished the first step I always take when starting anew; Setting up my companion's classes beforehand lol
Idk how many other people do this, but I always plan out what classes I'm gonna make each companion before starting, each time being slightly different, and I refuse to have any subclass overlap and I always try to keep each canonically accurate. This time I decided I'd go back to their main starting classes but I'd make them all unique multiclasses, again with zero subclass overlap and all entirely canonically accurate.
Normally I just go about this on my own but a friend was asking me about it and was asking for help cause as he put it he's really bad at making multiclasses that work but wants to "mix up" his companions for his 2nd playthrough, so I shared my current "load out" with him and he loved it all so much he said I should share it "online or something" lol Well I'm sitting here at work waiting for some crap to load before I can actually do anything with it so figured I could pass the time with sharing my newest origin multiclasses for anyone interested in smaller mixups!
This is gonna get long, also there will be spoilers as I'll be talking about WHY some of these work based on their lore, sometimes lore that's revealed later in the game, you've been warned lol
  1. Shadowheart - Life Cleric lvl 6/Gloom Stalker lvl 6
For starters, Trickster Doman sucks ass, secondly this idea leans more into Selune anyways. The premise of this one is to lean into the fact she's a "torn person," even if she doesn't know it at first she's stuck between this divine rivalry of Selune and Shar, so splitting the classes evenly is kind of a representation of that.
Gloom Stalker more represents not only Shar and her influence but also her earlier upbringing, we know her parents were druids and she had to go through some sort of rite about going off into the woods at a young age, so her being a Ranger by default works in my mind (can also choose Sanctified Stalker for lore). Life Cleric leans more on Selune thematically, but is also chosen to mechanically make such an even split work.
The Life Cleric's ability to increase the amount healed works based on a flat amount plus the spell level, so you don't need a lot of specific class levels to make it work, and getting at least lvl 5 in Ranger provides extra attack, placing such a multiclass in the role of damage dealer but with a fairly substantial amount of healing compared to other options. You will be lacking in higher level spells but as the main focus will be as a Ranger I don't think that'll be a hindrance to effectiveness in the slightest. Ranged will also work better, imo, as you want to have access to your bonus action for healing words and hunter's mark usage so dual wielding won't be as good and no other melee option available to Ranger will match the effectiveness of focusing on archery, but that doesn't mean you can't do it if you want to lol
I changed her stats slightly to focus on Dex and Wis, mostly just syphoning points from her Str into her Dex and leaving most everything else as it is, then started by leveling the Ranger first, fit better for the early game being all about Shar, and also getting to extra attack asap.
2. Lae'zel - Battle Master lvl 4/Great Old One Warlock lvl 8
Now I know the most common reaction will be "warlock!?" But here me out lol
Githyanki worship Vlaakith, their god, but she isn't actually a god, she's a powerful lich trying to become a god. So making Lae'zel some sort of Cleric doesn't actually make any sense, since her deity technically shouldn't be able to grant any divine powers, but we do see her more powerful followers having abilities, specifically psionic abilities, almost like a GOO Warlock. Now I know Gith all have latent psionics so that's largely why they also have such powers, but why not accentuate that further with Pact Magic? You can also play it off as not actually being a warlock, since it's never mentioned in game regardless, and it's just her own psionic abilities manifesting, simply choose the most psionically reminiscent spells, even if they won't be the most effective her spells won't be her main strength anyways.
Obviously make her a PotB Warlock, and focus on melee combat with BM maneuvers, but having access to Hex and potentially even Eldritch Blast will just make her that much more powerful as a damage dealer. Both subclasses also recharge on short rest, adding some points for convenience lol
Initially stat wise I was a bit torn, cause she's NOT a "charismatic" person, but then I remembered that Charisma doesn't just mean "social skills," it's also "force of person," it's why Sorcerers use it for spell casting, and Lae'zel is most definitely a very confident and expressive person, so I think it actually works. That being said I still focus her Str more then her Cha, just taking some points out of all her other stats to boost it but keeping them the same relative spread, so more in Dex and Con then Int and Wis. Starting her in Warlock until lvl 5 is also advisable, then I like to go straight to Fighter lvl 4 to get BM and a feat, then gonna finish the last few levels in Warlock to get to 4th level spell slots.
3. Gale - Abjuration Wizard lvl 10/Fighter lvl 2
This one in particular is more about mechanics then lore, but I think it still works for both.
Obviously Gale has to be mostly Wizard, he talks about it SO MUCH that it wouldn't make as much sense if he was mostly anything else even if thematically it would work, like Bard or Sorcerer. However I find most Wizard schools to be boring and the ones that work best as multiclasses work better as dips, like 2 levels into Evocation for spell sculpting. Abjuration though works very well as a focus, and feeds into being quite tanky. That's why Fighter, for armor proficiencies, so either need to start as it for heavy armor, use a feat to get it asap, or just give him 14 in Dex and use medium armor. This gives him a high AC while being able to reduce the damage that does hit him, all while still being able to focus on a lot of high damage spells, with lvl 2 in Fighter you also get Action Surge for a round of double spells (double fireballs are great lol).
I think any Wizard school works for Gale canonically, honestly, and Fighter may not make the most sense but he is a well off human with a stellar education from one of the richest cities on the Sword Coast, so part of that education being in the basics of martial combat (no subclass, need lvl 10 in Wizard and makes sense he doesn't have one if it wasn't a focus) makes just enough sense for me to say it works lol
Stat wise you can honestly keep it the same as default, he just needs Int and going for Con secondary works very well, I also just like to give him some Cha cause he's a well spoken man.
4. Astarion - Swords Bard lvl 10/Rogue lvl 2
First things first, I think Astarion simply works better as a Bard by default then he does a Rogue, what with how he apparently would seduce people non-stop to bring back to Cazador, and going College of Swords fits that same "stabby stabby" theme lol
Also yes he can still be your lock picker since Bards get expertise as well.
So in reality I would actually just go all 12 levels into Bard for him, but I did that a number of times and wanted everyone to have their canon class in a multiclass, so 2 levels in Rogue works best. You kinda need lvl 10 in Bard for Magical Secrets, as it's super strong and a lot of fun to add what-the-fuck-ever you want into any build, and 2nd level in Rogue gives cunning action, so go for the Dueling fighting style, focus on bows anyways, and keep your bonus action open for cunning actions as well as his bite.
I redo his stats a fair amount though, to focus entirely on Dex and Cha ofc, but I also tank his Int and Wis to 8 cause it makes sense to me (he's clearly not the wisest and the writers have said he's probably the dumbest of the OG cast lol), and I think a vampire spawn should still have decent Str and Con anyways. For leveling I go straight to 6 in Bard for that extra attack, get 2 in Rogue cause cunning action is fun, then finish the rest of Bard.
5. Wyll - Fiend Warlock lvl 2/Draconic Sorcerer lvl 10
In this case I'm taking some liberties but here me out, again lol
So obviously need Fiend Warlock first, but lvl 2 is important for those first invocations, namely Agonizing Blast. Afterwards just go full Sorcerer! The stretch for how it works is that we know about Ansur now, a bronze dragon confirmed to have been living in Baldur's Gate for YEARS, so who's to say he *wasn't* involved with someone in Wyll's genealogy? lol I know it's HIGHLY unlikely, but it's still possible and I wanted at least one Sorcerer!
So ofc go Bronze ancestry, for the lore, but obviously Red would have the most synergy if you don't care, and make sure to grab quickened spell when you can for meta magic, why? DOUBLE ELDRITCH BLASTING! LOL That's the whole thing with this build, yeah you'll get a lot of spells, high level ones too, so it'll increase his versatility, but doubling down on Eldritch Blasts is incredibly powerful and thematically still sticks with the whole Warlock thing. I like to focus fire based spells to go with the whole Fiendish Patron stuff, but like I said the spells are secondary, believe it or not lol
This is another case of being able to leave his stats as they are, but I personally like to give him a bit of strength, as he is "The Blade of Frontiers," higher then average Str makes sense to me, and I just drain his Wis for it cause dh lol But a focus on Cha and a secondary on Dex is the important part.
6. Karlach - Berserker lvl 8/Thief lvl 4
I think this one is the most straight forward one but also one of my favs mechanically.
Build her like normal as a Berserker, but have her dual wield weapons with finesse, even if she's using Str for them they'll still sneak attack, and when you get the second bonus action her damage will become pretty crazy. Other then a pair of bracers you can find in Act 2 from Dammon I think, there isn't really any way of getting two weapon fighting without a third class dip and I just didn't want to, but at some point some how it'll be necessary.
The reason this works is cause of her upbringing. We all know why she's a Barbarian, but she tells us she was a ruffian when she was younger, even worked for Gortash as basically a thug, so Rogue fits well for me and if she wasn't keen on the law for a while then her being a thief also fits, imo.
Where this build takes off those is all the throwing! lol With Berserker and Thief you can throw a TON of shit per round, you can even take Tavern Brawler if you want to focus on this and carry around a bazillion daggers, the damage actually gets so insane sometimes that I specifically avoid Tavern Brawler cause I already find the game too easy and don't need to clean house THAT effectively lol
Her stats can also be left alone, I like to focus on Str regardless even if Dex might be stronger without Tavern Brawler, but it's an option if you want. Once again though rush through Berserker to lvl 5 for extra attack, then go to Thief lvl 4 for the subclass and feat, then just finish off with Barbarian afterwards.
7. Halsin (yup I also do all the other companions LOL) - Moon Druid lvl 2/Open Hand Monk lvl 10
Dude is a giant, I want him to punch people super hard with those tree trunk arms, it's THAT simple lol
I honestly wouldn't even bother with Druid levels if not for the fact it's so engrained into his character, but grabbing two levels to get the subclass allows for the bonus action wildshape which just provides some further versatility, and he gets a Bear shape regardless so might as well keep access to it. This is also where I might recommend sticking in a Tavern Brawler build, as I obviously want to focus on Str for this big man, plus it kind of makes sense if you forget about the actual name of the feat. He grew up in nature, is a mostly self taught druid to my understanding, so using the Tavern Brawler feat also kind of implies a degree of "self teaching" when it comes to unarmed striking, ya know? Open Hand is also just the best Monk subclass, Four Elements miiiiiight make more sense but not enough for me to not just use Open Hand.
Stat-wise I shift them around a lot, as they don't make much sense to me to begin with, keeping his Int low (he grew up in the wild even if he is a smart dude) and I drop his Cha (again grew up among animals, even if he is well spoken and kind it makes sense if his social skills are lacking), then focus on Str with a decent spread between Dex, Wis, and Con.
He also starts at a higher level so I grab 2 lvls in Druid right away then just rush down Monk afterwards.
8. Minthara - Vengeance Paladin lvl 2/War Cleric lvl 10
Here's the endgame Cleric for ya! lol
I have found it's super helpful to have a Cleric with lvl 5 spells in the later portions of the game, not necessary ofc but I personally wanted one and Shart was more of a Ranger with this setup, and this is a build I've always liked even in regular DnD.
You will ofc be forced to make her a Cleric of Lolth despite her having renounced Lolth, but if you know how Lolth works then it actually still makes sense. If Minthara is still upholding her oaths and actively in the midst of some chaotic shit, then OFC Lolth would continue to approve, no joke! Plus with how all female Lolthsworn are raised her being some degree of Cleric actually makes far more sense then being a full Paladin. If you're unaware, female Drow of Menzoberranzan ALL go to learn divine (cleric) magics in an elite school before they're allowed to really join their houses, it's actually a requirement that Minthara (being a Beanre) would not have been able to avoid.
The reason it works so well though is cause of smites and the War Domain. She'll have the high level spells for utility, damage, and healing, but she'll have access to more smites being mostly a full caster AND if you can use her War Priest bonus action attack it can also smite! With this build she's far more of a caster and support character then a smiting machine, but give her the auto criting tadpole power (since she has extra tadpoles anyways) and you can nuke something with this CLERIC lol
I personally swap her to sword and board and use a finesses weapon, so I can focus her stats on Dex and Wis, with Con secondary and I spread out her last three stats evenly, cause she is strong, charismatic, and smart, so I couldn't bring myself to dump any of them fully lol
Just like Halsin I always start her off with 2 lvls in Paladin then just jam through Cleric afterwards.
9. Jaheira - Spore Druid lvl 7/Champion Fighter lvl 5
This one in particular was specifically so I could keep her as a dual wielding combatant since that's always kind of ben her canonically preferred style.
I don't think this is an uncommon build at all, getting 5 levels in Fighter for extra attack then just jamming Spore Druid for all the damage and survivability, so I won't go into too much detail on it, but the reason I chose Champion was cause I wanted Lae'zel to be a Battle Master but also she's literally a champion of Baldur's Gate, it works fucking perfectly! lol Spores actually fit less well but hey, it's still druid and the build is super strong, so I'm not losing any sleep over it.
I mostly keep her stats the same, but I do put a bit more into Dex, usually drop Wis a bit and dump her Str to get Dex up, but that's about it and technically it could still work without any stat changes. I mean you could get the dual wielder feat on her then give her the rapier Wyll gets from Mizora when you save her, keep one of the Scimitars she starts with, and she'll then be attacking with her Wis entirely at that point, so that is also an option, I just like to keep the rapier on Wyll and not even bother with that feat for Jaheira.
10 Minsc - Hunter Ranger lvl 4/Wildheart Barbarian lvl 8
This one should be obvious, ngl. He's already known as a Ranger, loves animals, is a Rashaman berserker, he even gets his own custom Barb screams done by Matt Mercer (unlike Halsin, disappointingly enough). There should be no question why this combo works for him lol
Make sure to take Colossus Slayer as a Hunter, then go Bear Barbarian, give him a big two handed weapon, and you've now got one of the heaviest hitting and tankiest combos in the game, straight up. He has very little versatility, that's the main downside, he pretty much just rages, run him in, and attack shit, but even THAT fits Minsc perfectly.
For his stats I pretty much just swap his Str and Dex, maybe put a bit of his Wis into his Dex as well to hit that comfortable 14 and give him medium armor instead of using his unarmored defense, but this is ofc flexible. At the time you get him as well you should be able to just fully build him to lvl 12, maybe 10 or 11 if you rush to him, so order of levels doesn't really matter.
BUT THERE IT IS! All done, hope someone out there finds this useful or at least interesting, and thanks to anyone who read the whole thing, I know it was a lot lol
As a final note, I'm not interested in arguing how good or accurate any of these are, or of other options (like Shadow Monk/Cleric Shart, for example, but my Tav is a Shadow Monk/Assassin so didn't want that to overlap), like I said I'm on my 7th playthrough and I haven't done their standard classes and subclasses since my very first run and I've always tried to keep stuff that fit them accurately, this is just the current one I'm using and so far has been one of the most fun "load outs" lol
If you give any of them a try then I sincerely hope you enjoy it :D

2024.05.15 19:35 Existing_Fee_1638 Are any of you #SwiftiesforPalestine ❤️🇵🇸?

Are any of you #SwiftiesforPalestine ❤️🇵🇸?
Hey Gaylors, I figured if any Swifties would be my people it would be the Gaylors and the Neurodivergents. I wanted to share my post from my @swiftiesforpalestine account I created for us and hope you will join to grow our movement and I hope it’s ok that I posted here…
“A response to @race2dinner post yesterday about @taylorswift silence on Palestine and how it is violent…🇵🇸
When I realized the collective power of the Swifties worldwide (there are a few hundred million) and what Swifties are capable of (ask anyone who has been on the receiving end of angry Swifties) I realized that if I was able to even harness a SMALL percentage of those who care about Palestine, who know even a little about Palestine or who are intellectually and morally curious about Palestine that I could harness the collective power of the masses of all ages for good.
Many people across the world have been drawn to Taylor because of her lyrics and the way she is able to speak (more in her recent music) about mental health, anxiety, depression, Neurodivergence, Feminism etc in her lyrics. In her 2020 Miss Americana documentary she was really passionate about using her voice and her platform, and promised to never be silent again.
Taylor’s silence has been very disappointing and disheartening for a lot of Swifties, and many HAVE taken to social media to express their frustration and anger with her.
When I created the account my intention was to try to organize the Swifties who may be coming to Palestine at varying levels, but also I wanted the account to be a resource for anyone to learn everything you need to know about Palestine so you can be armed with the facts against Zionists and their evil dangerous propaganda.
Yes it is true that Taylor’s platform, reach, power and influence is massive. MASSIVE. Yes it is true Taylor, as of 4/2 appears to be more of a White Feminist then we hoped for, but that doesn’t mean her VERY large fan base can’t make a big impact in this world and for Palestine.
I will say, many celebs and artists jumped to “standing with Israel” or “condemning Hamas” shortly after 10/7, and at the very least if Taylor isn’t going to #speaknow then I’d rather her be silent if she isn’t confident on being a geo political pundit . The last thing we need is for her to veer out of her lane and add HARM by using her platform and spewing nonsense Zionist propaganda. (Continued in comments)
( writing ✍️ from myself @alethea_shapiro )
The last thing we need is for her to veer out of her lane and add HARM by using her platform and spewing nonsense Zionist propaganda. While her silence isn't adding anything positive at least it's not adding pain. Again I'll reiterate her Silence and being neutral isn't moving the needle but I'd rather her not galvanize the Swifties into being Pro Israel if she doesn't know what she's talking about. Again genOcide is very cut and dry and it's not very difficult. Then again there's other ways to make an impact on society. I know personally for me, being so plugged into genOcide and posting everyday on a variety of accounts has REALLY impacted my mental health and I am thankful I have Taylor's music to bring joy to my life and an escape bc let's not forget self care is an act of resistance and very important as well believe me... I want to burn it all down with you all- Zionism, Colonialism, White Supremacy, The Patriarchy, & AmeriKKKa... I pray everyday that we see collective freedom for all marginalized people. Since nothing makes sense anymore the only thing I keep coming back to is the quote "it's darkest before dawn" and I hope and pray that all this darkness will lead to a rebirth

2024.05.15 19:32 Ky1arStern 7900XTX Troubleshooting

Reposting this at what is hopefully a better time.
Build:
RX 7900 XTX Hellhound edition
MSI PRO B650-P WIFI (MS-7D78)
AMD Ryzen 7 7700X
Lian Liu GA III Cooler
64 GB of DDR5 Gskill Ram (3000 Mhz)
Samsung 49" 1440 120 Hz widescreen monitor
Windows 10
Samsung M2 drive, 4TB
Problem:
Periodically the display turns black for about 2-3 seconds, then turns back on. This may be accompanied by some purple/green artifacting across the top.
Notes:
This is a fresh install of all of the GPU drivers, OS, etc. Using all of the peripheral hardware (cables, monitor) I had with previous build.
I continuously monitor temps, which are great. This recently happened while CPU was at 37C, 1% load and GPU was at 36C, 1% load.
The only other thing I have noted is while playing MTG Arena, there was some stuttering. I googled it and someone noted that the stuttering stopped when they disabled their L-3 Connect, which I did and it appeared to fix the problem.
QUESTION
While I'm interested in any recommendations for troubleshooting that anyone has, I'm mostly reaching out to ask for a method of actually working to diagnose this problem. Presumably I either have software or can download software that will log when this issue occurs, in order to localize it to one of my components. I understand it's not really a lot of info to go off of for someone on the internet to diagnose, so I'm primarily looking for information and advice on tools that can be used to better troubleshoot this issue.
NOTE: I will not be accepting any comments on the part selection at this time. Any negative comments made regarding the choice of hardware will be met in kind.
Thank you in advance!

2024.05.15 19:31 Chonkichicken Help me decide where to go!

Hi. So I was accepted into Pitt for Bioengineering. I was highly recommended this university by my counsellor as, despite me being an engineering major, I was going to be surrounded by medical equipment during my time studying, and Pitt is great medical school. However, I was getting a better financial aid offer elsewhere and decided to commit there. Bioengineering is also a major I decided on in only the course of a few months, and I want to consider ease of changing into another engineering major in the future.
Problem is, Pitt has now decided to revise my financial aid offer and is offering me a much better deal than the university i have already committed to (North Carolina State University). So I wanted to know, in case i decide to change to another engineering major, does Pitt still remain as good choice? Based on what I know, NCSU seems to be an excellent school for engineering and is in a location that brings along loads of job and internships opportunities. Can someone tell me how both these schools compare for engineering?
They revised my aid offer on May 15th, which is the deadline to commit😭

2024.05.15 19:31 Snapseven Image Paths Not Working in SvelteKit on Vercel

I'm encountering an issue with dynamic image paths in my SvelteKit project deployed on Vercel. The project involves loading images based on a frame index, but the images are not being found when deployed. The images are located in ``src/lib/assets/PEA_Full/``, and the function is correctly generating paths. All for my images I am getting this error:
https://priject-name.vercel.app/src/lib/assets/PEA_Full/PEA_Full_00041.jpg 404 (Not Found)
I've tried different approaches to import the images, including using absolute paths and relative paths, but none seem to work on Vercel. The images load correctly when running the project locally.
I also tried moving the images folder to the static directory, which made the images load correctly on Vercel. However, this resulted in significantly poorer performance, which is not acceptable for my project.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to resolve this issue or has encountered a similar problem, I would greatly appreciate your help!
Thank you!
Here is fragment from my code:
const currentFrame = (index) => `/src/lib/assets/PEA_Full/PEA_Full_${index.toString().padStart(5, '0')}.jpg`; const preloadImages = () => { for (let i = 1; i < frameCount; i++) { const img = new Image(); img.src = currentFrame(i); console.log(img.src); } };

2024.05.15 19:26 hurfdogbuttsniff I built a music search engine to help you find similar tracks...

hiya everyone,
hurfyd here, you may remember me from uploading tunes and stupid videos on YouTube a while ago. I've been working on a side project recently, building a way to dig and explore "overload-y" music.
There's a load of stuff that only exists online because someone called "DaveyBoy921" uploaded a vinyl rip to YouTube and isn't on Spotify. Or Spotify algorithms will promote certain tracks based on them being boosted or optimized to keep you listening, but not really listening. I wanted something for digging and exploration that would just give me weird crap squirreled away on Discogs that I wouldn't have heard before or had been overlooked.
So, I've built a "music similarity search engine" at cosine.club where you can search over a million tracks, or use a YT/Bandcamp link. A machine learning model is used to return a list of the tracks the algorithm thinks are most similar, based on the audio content, and give you a playlist of videos. Once you're on a page, you can click through to any of the tracks to see another list related to that one.
Here's a few examples:
The search is a bit wonky so try "artist - track", and there are still some obvious ones missing from the index, but I'm slowly adding more tracks along the way. I've found it fun to start clicking through pages, going from one to the next and landing somewhere really weird and unexpected. It's pretty useful if you are looking for "more things like X" or a few people have been using it as a sort of Shazam to ID tracks from DJ sets (this isn't intentional and doesn't work too well on phone recordings btw!)
Hope you have a nice time trying it out and hope you find some nice stuff <3
For the machine learning heads: it's using a contrastive learning model from the Music Technology Group at UPF that has been trained on triplets of mel-spectrograms of tracks to learn associations between a positive pair with a negative sample. Then by creating vector embeddings of each track the cosine similarity between the vectors can be used to find the most similar in the index.

Treatment Decision for Brandy (8 year old Rotty) with osteosarcoma
Hi Everyone,
I have a Rottweiler mix named Brandy that I co-own with my fiancé and my brother. We all live together. Brandy was a rescue, and we estimate she is between 8 and 10 years old. Recently, she was diagnosed with what appears to be osteosarcoma in her front right shoulder. Over the last month and a half, she went from limping to developing a small tumor, to now having a baseball-sized bone tumor. Despite this, she maintains a good appetite, wags her tail when she sees us, and goes to the bathroom (with support). Since her initial shoulder x-ray and diagnosis on 4/19/24, Brandy has been on gabapentin 100mg (1-2 pills every 12 hours) and carprofen 50mg every 12 hours. Her blood work showed normal values, a 3-view chest x-ray showed no evidence of metastasis, and we are scheduled for an abdominal ultrasound tomorrow. Based on those results, she has an amputation appointment set for Friday.
Our vet recommended trying to bind her affected leg to see if she could get around on three legs before committing to amputation, but we couldn't find an effective way to do 50. About a week ago, Brandy stopped using her affected leg and started dragging it around. Maybe I'm naive, but to me, her ability to get around despite her bum limb demonstrates that she's ready to be a tripawd. Our hope is that with amputation, she can have a few additional quality months without significant pain. We do not plan on doing chemo after the amputation.
Here's where it gets complicated and where my questions start. My fiancé and l are getting married on June 15 and leaving for our honeymoon on the 18th—a month-long trip to Europe. We have saved for years and started planning and booking a full year ago. Prior to Brandy's diagnosis, the plan was for my brother to take care of her as usual. We all work during the day, so she spends a large chunk of the work hours at home alone, with the back door open for her, which has never been a problem.
With the diagnosis and the inability to reschedule our honeymoon, my brother will be her solo caretaker. My hope, although it may be naive, is that with surgery this Friday (5/17). Brandy will have a large window of recovery-nearly a full month-where my fiancé, my brother, and I can support her. We hope that she will be in a more regular lifestyle by the time we leave. Maybe I am underestimating how much support Brandy will need in her new life. My brother works construction and is unavailable from 6 am to 5 pm every weekday. We hope that with a good recovery, she can exist independently during that window. We are going to lay lots of rugs and carpet on our hardwood floor, build a ramp for her to go down the stairs out the back door (only two steps), and set up doggy cams to monitor her virtually.
What's really keeping me up at night is whether we are doing the right thing. With our month out of the country and my brother's work schedule, are we setting ourselves up for failure? I understand that her life will be significantly different on three legs. I just want to see her out of pain. She's still so much herself mentally that the idea of euthanasia seems impossible, but maybe that is selfish of us. Are we making a decision for our own mental comfort and ignoring the reality of Brandy's new situation? I struggle to tell, and that's what's hardest.
I'm hoping to have some of you who have been through this weigh in with experience or advice. Are we underestimating the challenge of Brandy's new life? Have any of you navigated having a new tripawd and working/having to travel? What kind of additional support was needed that you did not initially anticipate? Any general thoughts or advice you would care to share?
Thank you all in advance. -Hunter

2024.05.15 18:59 DANIEL_YAVOROVYCH PredictKube: AI-based predictive Kubernetes autoscaling tool. Q&A Part 1

PredictKube: AI-based predictive auto-scaler that radically improves the performance of any elaborate blockchain infrastructure. – But how does it work? During several blockchain conferences in April, this was the most frequently asked question to our team.
Everything you wanted to ask but didn't have the chance. Part 1.
Short intro. 1/ What PredictKube does: Based on the data input (for 1+ weeks) and AI prediction, performs proactive autoscaling in K8s for up to 6h horizon. Problems being sold: Overprovisioning and high cloud bills Downtime and high latency Problematic project growth
2/ What does it mean: The tool optimizes the number of active nodes in the cluster preventively, and when the traffic increases – all your nodes are ready. - No need for manual requests for support - No headache due to a traffic loss - No exorbitant bills for excessive traffic needs
Q: Does this tool work only with projects having specific data patterns? I wonder how one model can fit and predict well in cases with different data.
A: Indeed, one model cannot fit different datasets. There is a difference between a free version working via key requests and a model trained on a specific user’s dataset during a certain time frame. Depending on the metric's features we can estimate the model efficiency. For example, it will be efficient if an observed metric displays the signs of seasonality or trend. The feature of seasonality is used by the predictive model.
[Seasonality: some pattern that is observable during a specific time frame, e.g. traffic peaks on certain days. Trend: some pattern is observed, which is not explained by the seasonality, i.e. some exclusive events take place and influence the traffic]
By observing trends within the shorter time frames while having a safe gap in managing the load (overprovision takes place), we can forestall trend patterns and include them in the scaler model. That allows us to predict the need for "vertical scaling" before a peak load.
There are more complex patterns (e.g. IFO on DEXes) that may cause an order-of-magnitude increase in the network load. These patterns can be considered by specifying the exact event time (block number, let’s say) or involving more complex maths to enhance prediction.
In the Enterprise version, you can train the AI model on any dataset taking into account the business logic of the application.
Q: What metrics could be used, just the cpu? or any Prometheus metric?
A: PromQL query can be any Prometheus metric. You can use any dataset. Prometheus is used as a proto source for the predictive scaling.
Stay tuned for Q&A Part 2!

2024.05.15 18:53 Dry-Analyst-7012 Yaskawa A1000 help

Yaskawa A1000 help
Old Bruan washer from the 90s.
Last maintenance tech to work on it blew up the inverter. This inverter is new I installed it also has a breaking resistor that I replaced.
2 things I can’t figure out are
1.) I can only get it to run in local, it won’t run in remote I has verified the wiring to the diagrams that I do have and everything looks correct.
2.) it over amps the inverter when the washing machine starts to Spin the opposite way. I’m assuming it’s because it’s trying to instantly turn the opposite way and when there is laundry or water in the machine it’s too much of a load and sends a bunch of amps to the motor to get it moving the other way.
I was told this is what the breaking resistor is for and helps not over amp when going the opposite way. After installing it haven’t seen it do anything different.

2024.05.15 18:52 Certain_You_8814 User Interface

My primary experience has been with KiCad and I was interesting in transitioning to Altium as I move toward more complex designs. Moreover, I am interested in working on a mmwave antenna project and it seemed like Altium would do better with that, though I have no evidence for this. I am using the trial of Altium for now. I am trying to figure out if my experience is an anomaly and will get better or if I should abandon ship at this point.
I have been struck by how quirky the user interface is and generally have the impression that people must just get used to it and deal with it. Here are some examples of my experiences so far.
1) There is no way to define the "hot keys" for the system, and the way the mouse works is not user-defined, the most obvious issue being than you can't pan with the middle mouse click, which is common on CAD-like tools (this fills me with a general sense of frustration and helplessness because I don't have a feeling that they will improve this aspect - I did some Googling and there are people asking about this from 2015 so it is clear that this will never change).
2) The component library has a Manufacturer Part Search, but this seems to be primarily to find suppliers and not to find symbols/footprints/models (in this way, it is basically a specialized Google search). When you do find the CAD data, you have to go through an out-of-band process to actually install them - i.e., download zip file, browse to folder, unzip, double-click and install component (I do not understand why you cannot install/use the component from this menu?). I still don't understand how components are generally managed so I must be missing something. It is putting the components in the project menu as a peer to the schematic which does not seem correct/right/logical.
3) When adding new sheets to a schematic, you can either add a sheet icon/part or create a new sheet. Then you have to associate the sheet to the part manually. If you use the tool to create a new sheet from the part it does not automatically connect the sheet to the part (you still have to do it manually, I assume as a show of dominance?).
4) I loaded up a component that I wanted to use, the pins were unorganized so I wanted to clean it up. I load up the component and try to use the pin wizard (I forgot the actual name) to quickly move pins from left <-> right side, I tried to select multiple pins, this doesn't work. I tried to paste "right" to multiple pins and the paste goes to some other pin that is entirely unselected. From what I can tell, this tool entirely does not work and seems like a vestigial development from last year's intern.
I want to like this tool, is this the experience that I should expect to have or am I just experiencing the normal growing pains that will lead to greater efficiency/quality?
Thanks

2024.05.15 18:52 VauIt-Tec I don’t understand supply lines mechanic and have a few questions to ask.

1) So I click a settler from A and I send him to B. Do I then click a new settler from B and send to C? And so on?
2) Am I suppose to do a specific pattern? Or can I just do a big deformed circle?
3) Are these people actually walking across the world? Like if I wonder near a line. I’ll actually see them?
4) Adding onto 3. If they are, can they be attacked and killed by enemies?
5) I want to make Vault 88 my main base. Will they even go there since it’s technically behind a shut vault door and a loading screen?
6) If I have a water farm at A can I access this water at B? Or is this purely for junk ?

2024.05.15 18:51 WZab Two-key procedure for entering text in an embedded system

Current state of technology enables creating small and simple communication devices offering high level of privacy and security. A good example may be Meshtastic devices. However, a necessity to use smartphone (possibly infected with a spyware) may break both privacy and security. It would be much better if the text message could be entered on the Meshtastic device itself, and then have it encrypted internally before transmission. Unfortunately, most Meshtastic device do not offer a full keyboard. An option could be entering the text as a Morse code, using the key of capacitive pad. The Morse code however covers only a limited set of characters, and its knowledge in society is limited. Therefore, I'd like to propose another method for entering text. It is based on two digital inputs. They may be two capacitive pads, or a double paddle Morse key. Please note that I have developed the below described procedure from scratch. I have not investigated if similar procedures are implemented (or may be even patented?) by anybody. So if you would like to use it in a commercial product, please make the necessary investigations yourself.

What we may generate with two inputs?

Below I put the ASCII diagrams of possible events that we can send with two inputs. I mark low level (_) as "inactive" and high level (‾) as active. The inputs are marked as In1 and In2.
Event Wavevorfm E1 In1: __/‾‾\__ In2: ________ E2 In1: ________ In2: __/‾‾\__ E1i2 In1: ___/‾‾\___ In2: _/‾‾‾‾‾‾\_ E2i1 In1: _/‾‾‾‾‾‾\_ In2: ___/‾‾\___ E1f2 In1: _/‾‾‾‾\_____ In2: ____/‾‾‾‾\__ E2f1 In1: ____/‾‾‾‾\__ In2: _/‾‾‾‾\_____
So we have 6 elementary events: Event 1, Event 2, Event 1 in event 2, Event 2 in event 1, Event 1 followed by event 2, Event 2 followed by event 1. Each of them may be easily generated with two independent switches, two capacitive pads or double Morse paddle.
We may also generate more complex sequences, like:
Multiple E1i2: E1i2 In1: ___/‾‾\__/‾‾\__/‾‾\__/‾‾\__/‾‾\____ In2: _/‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾\__ Multiple E1i2 finished by E2f1: E1i2 In1: ___/‾‾\__/‾‾\__/‾‾\__/‾‾\__/‾‾‾‾\__ In2: _/‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾\____ Multiple E2i1 E1i2 In1: _/‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾\__ In2: ___/‾‾\__/‾‾\__/‾‾\__/‾‾\__/‾‾‾‾\__ Multiple E2i1 finished by E1f2: E1i2 In1: _/‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾\____ In2: ___/‾‾\__/‾‾\__/‾‾\__/‾‾\__/‾‾‾‾\__

Using of possible events for entering text.

First, with E1i2 and multiple E1i2 we may select an appropriate group of characters (for example we may have four groups: "upper case letters", "lower case letters", "digits", "special chracters").
Then, the selected group is split into two equal subgroups, and the first and last character of each subgroup is shown. Then the selected group is handled in the same way, until only one character is left. This character is then selected and added to the created message.
Below is the sample code showing the proposed procedure:
#!/usbin/python # The demonstration code for two-key character selection. # Written by Wojciech M. Zabołotny (wzab01@gmail.com) # This is a public domain code (under CC0 1.0 license) c=[] for i in range(ord('A'),ord('Z')+1): c.append(chr(i)) # We have three indices: # start, end, split start = 0 end = len(c) while True: split = (start + end) // 2 if start == split: # The character is already selected, print it print("Chosen:"+c[start]) break if split > start + 1: line = "["+c[start]+" "+c[split-1]+"]" else: line = "["+c[start]+"]" if split < end - 1: line += "["+c[split]+" "+c[end-1]+"]" else: line += "["+c[split]+"]" #print(start,split,end) print(line) sel = input("sel:") if sel == "1": end = split else: start = split
Below is the process of selection of the K character.
$ python [A M][N Z] sel:1 [A F][G M] sel:2 [G I][J M] sel:2 [J K][L M] sel:1 [J][K] sel:2 Chosen:K
Of course the user should be able to correct the character entered. That can bee achieved with E2i1 event. Double E2i1 event may be used to clear the whole text.
When the whole message is assembled, it may be sent with E1f2 event.
The above procedure does not use E2f1 event, which may be used to leave the whole procedure.

Example implementation

I don't have an implementation for microcontroller yet. A simple demo function with Python running on a PC and using numbers instead of the above events is shown below:
#!/usbin/python # The demonstration code for two-key character selection. # Written by Wojciech M. Zabołotny (wzab01@gmail.com) # This is a public domain code (under CC0 1.0 license) # Create groups of characters uc_letters=[] for i in range(ord('A'),ord('Z')+1): uc_letters.append(chr(i)) lc_letters=[] for i in range(ord('a'),ord('z')+1): lc_letters.append(chr(i)) digits=[] for i in range(ord('0'),ord('9')+1): digits.append(chr(i)) specs=list("\"\'{}[]!?@#$%^&*()-+=/\\,.<>") groups=[uc_letters, lc_letters, digits, specs] # Main loop # We have three indices: # start, end, split grnr=0 c=groups[grnr] start = 0 end = len(c) txt = "" while True: split = (start + end) // 2 if start == split: # The character is already selected, print it txt += c[start] start = 0 end = len(c) continue if split > start + 1: line = "["+c[start]+" "+c[split-1]+"]" else: line = "["+c[start]+"]" if split < end - 1: line += "["+c[split]+" "+c[end-1]+"]" else: line += "["+c[split]+"]" #print(start,split,end) print(txt) print(line) sel = input("1-1st half, 2-2nd half, 3-del char, 4-clear text, 5-send text, 6-next group:") if sel == "1": end = split elif sel == "2": start = split elif sel == "3": txt = txt[:-1] elif sel == "4": txt = txt[:-1] elif sel == "5": print("Transmitted msg:"+txt) txt = "" start = 0 end = len(c) elif sel == "6": grnr = (grnr + 1) % len(groups) c = groups[grnr] start = 0 end = len(c) else: print("Unknown key")
I'll send a link to the microcontroller implementation as soon as it is ready.

Shari Adamiak was a dedicated, disciplined volunteer contact worker who I had the honor to serve with as a fellow CE-5 Working Group Coordinator from 1992 till 1998. I honor her memory by posting her report describing an amazing encounter in Monterrey Mexico in 1994.

In the in-depth document posted below, prolonged telepathic exchanges reportedly occurred with two types of non-human beings, very small ones and a larger humanoid being.

CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE FIFTH KIND IN MONTERREY,
MEXICO - DECEMBER 1994
By Shari Adamiak ©1995, Executive Director of CSETI

Introduction:
The following is an account - from my point of view - of events that occurred during a CSETI investigative team activation to Monterrey, Mexico in December of 1994. While necessarily somewhat subjective based on my own experiences, every attempt has been made to present an accurate depiction of events that were experienced by myself and our team.
CSETI Reacts to Flap in Mexico:
After seeing a tape of a "Hard Copy" program showing an active wave of UFO activity in Monterrey, Mexico - the third largest metropolis in Mexico - we made an effort to contact the researcher who had taken those videos. Santiago Yturria is a thorough researcher and skilled videographer who, along with Diana Perla Chapa, the host of a popular live talk show on Mexican network television, has had a UFO group for over 20 years in the state of Nuevo Leone.

Dr. Steven Greer, international director of CSETI, activated a CSETI Rapid Mobilization Investigative Team (RMIT) to Monterrey to investigate this current flap. Santiago, Diana, and the entire Ovni Club of N.L. assisted us, took us to sites, shared their evidence and graciously welcomed us to Monterrey. Dr. Greer, myself, a woman from New York and a man, also a videographer, from Minneapolis made up the CSETI team. (Names furnished upon request.)
Consciousness Connections:

Lucid dream activity played a significant role in the events that unfolded in Monterrey. Three of the team had dreams that proved to be portents of happenings on this project. I had a dream in the early hours of December 13th. In it, the extraterrestrials were showing us the spot where we should come in order to have a meeting with them. They showed me aerial views, in stop motion - each one closer to the ground - and marked the site with a strobing turquoise laser pattern. They showed me a view from the ground, looking up at some steep peaks, and showed it to me both in day and nighttime views. The night view revealed two stars in a particular configuration over one of the peaks.

That very afternoon, Santiago and his friends drove us to Las Mitres mountains, well known as an area of many sightings of UFOs. As we approached, it dawned on me that it was identical to what I was shown in my dream. We decided to use the spot as our field research site that night. When we came to Las Mitres (so named because the mountain peaks resemble a bishop's miter hat) that night, the two stars were indeed in the sky in the same position as I had seen in my lucid dream.

The Team Gets to Work:

The CSETI team had observed some anomalous objects in the sky at two different sites on the nights of December 11th and 12th, but the next two nights, the 13th and 14th at the Las Mitres sites, proved to be exceptional. The Las Mitres mountains contain a large cave where the local investigators believe that spacecraft conceal themselves when coming to the Monterrey area. And, unusually dense low clouds were known to form over the cave and other parts of the peaks very quickly. On the night of December 13th, the entire CSETI team set up camp at the base of Las Mitres. We were joined by an American woman who was a friend of one of our teammates, who was married to a Mexican man and living in Monterrey. She had arranged our lodging and transportation for us.

Around 10:30 pm, following our first Coherent Thought Sequencing (a CSETI protocol) session, we observed a very bright light that appeared in the zenith of the sky, traveling rapidly in an upward arc that terminated in the center of the constellation Orion. At 10:45 pm, very dense clouds materialized within a minute on parts of the sheer mountain cliffs.
The Close Encounters Begin:

At approximately 1:00 am, Dr. Greer and another team member were standing slightly down the gravel road when they observed a bright, strobe-like white light to appear at the edge of the mountain. At about the same time, I had gotten up and walked closer towards the brush at the base of the mountain. Dr. Greer looked for me to tell me of the strobe light and found me at the spot where it had appeared. As we stood there, another round light came rolling down the side of the steep slope. Just then, I felt some invisible energy that felt as if it were gently pulling me in deeper to the brush. Both Dr. Greer and I felt there was a presence nearby that, from past experience, led us to feel there was a spacecraft and extraterrestrial beings very nearby.

Just then, I began to perceive small, square-shouldered beings in the brush around us. They could be sensed and dimly seen, but a clear view of them wasn't possible. The little beings were extremely shy and reticent. They would scurry close to us, then backtrack quickly into the brush. We could not hear any brush moving or footsteps but we could dimly see them. To me, they seemed to have on uniforms that covered their body and legs that were a dull orange-rust color. They were very short, just up to my knees (I am 5'7"). I became aware of a telepathic message - they were concerned about our video camera, behind me to the right. I turned my head and looked. Sure enough, unknown to me previously as I had not seen it in the dark, was our teammate's professional camera set up on a tripod. I send back the mental message to them not to worry, the camera wasn't on and we wouldn't let him touch it. They seemed to trust my assurance, as the event continued to unfold. I related this two-way communication to Dr. Greer, who went back to the other three people and instructed them to stay where they were unless he called them forward.

These rich, rare exchanges with what appear to be extraterrestrial life forms are very delicate scenarios. Any sudden, rash or extreme emotion or movement can thwart the entire event and bring it to a screeching halt, and the extraterrestrials vanish. Sometimes our second-guessing of what is needed to allow an event to unfold in all its possible fullness is accurate; sometimes it is not. It is almost like hesitant dance partners, longing but afraid to get closer. Until we as a people are more accepting of close contact with extraterrestrials, our interactions are likely to continue in this way.

I could mentally 'hear' concerned conversation going on amongst the small beings. They eventually conveyed to me the message, again mentally, that they were having difficulty adjusting our energies in preparation for a meeting because my physical energy was concentrated on my stomach, trying to digest some food. Just before all this began, I had eaten about a half of a Power Bar, a dense protein energy food. It was cold and hard from being in my gear bag for hours and I could feel it kind of just laying in my stomach. At this point, I sent a very deliberate message to the life forms: "I give you permission to take it out of my body". Suddenly, I felt as if someone were standing some distance away with a fishing line whose hook was inside my stomach. It felt as if someone were slowing reeling in the line as the food came back out the way it went in. Now, I detest vomiting more than almost anything and I was struck by the gentleness that was used in removing this food from my body. It was only mildly unpleasant. Dr. Greer, an emergency physician, asked me if I was alright. I told him that I was fine and that this was being done with my permission. After this little purging, the energy felt softer, with less intense vibration.

Soon the little beings sent both Dr. Greer and I the message that if we removed our glasses, we would be able to see them better. Although I normally use contact lenses, glasses are preferable for field work when wind and dust often get blown into my eyes, plus the fact that we are often in the field until the wee hours of the morning. After receiving this message, we each removed our glasses. One last request from the little ETs - that we remove our hats (it had been a chilly night.) At this point, I could actually feel a harmonious flow of energy between us, the little beings, and some other unseen source.

Another Being is Perceived:

At this point, the small life forms disappeared. Shafts of golden light began to come from an unknown, unseen source and lay across the bushes in front of us. We learned later that the three other team members behind us could see this as well, although they had not been able to perceive the small beings. I could feel one of these shafts of light approach me and fill my torso with a warm, golden glow. After the light rays faded, a large oval of bluish fog began to form about ten feet in front of us. As the blue mist began to coalesce, Dr. Greer and I became aware of a being within it. Although again we could see him only dimly, he appeared very humanoid, tall, with long and straight silverish hair. He appeared to be clothed in a light blue and silver uniform.

We learned later that one team member saw a tendril of the blue fog travel along the ground towards her. It frightened her a little until the mist reached her foot and began to send wisps around her feet. She later told us that there was a gentle kindness about the fog and all misgivings vanished. However, our American friend who was not an actual team member became very frightened by the golden light and blue fog.

We learned later that it was all too much for her - something the extraterrestrial would tell us. For as we stood there facing one another, the tall being sent us a message that they would very much like to manifest more fully in the physical to meet with us, but that if they did so, one of our team members would be dangerously frightened. Their caution and concern were touching. And a far cry from the crying wolf that goes on so often when extraterrestrials are said to be heartless, devoid of feeling, and out to harm human beings. We in CSETI feel that this type of encounter points up the absolute need and appropriateness of doing real-time field work in our efforts to learn exactly what these beings are all about.

It is important, and interesting, to note that both Dr. Greer and myself received nearly identical mental messages each time there was a communication from the extraterrestrial.

Dr. Greer and I consulted one another and decided to send a joint message. We told the tall being that if they could not come to us, it was okay with us if they could take us to where they were. We could sense this was being discussed with a 'central command control', or his more senior team members. Dr. Greer and I saw a copper-gold sphere, ten to twelve feet in diameter, begin to coalesce to the left of the tall being. It never reached material solidity but soon began to disperse. The tall being then sent us a message that it would frighten our teammates just as much to see us disappear in front of their eyes as it would for the ETs to manifest right there. At this time, we had no idea that any member of our team was having difficulty coping with these events.
Soon Again, Soon Again:

Finally, after what seemed like a few moments, the tall being sent us a message that they would not be able to manifest fully in the physical this night. But they sent a message: "soon again; soon again". At this point, Dr. Greer went back to speak with the other team members and I stayed put. For the next five minutes, the being and I exchanged blessings to each other, to our teams. It was poignant and lovely. I cannot recall any of the actual 'words' or specific communications; it was not a left-brained exchange, but was beyond the bounds of linear thought.

Their Reluctance is Proven Out:

When I joined the others, I learned that our American friend had become extremely frightened, so much so that she had taken refuge in our vehicle. We had designated the big Suburban as the 'safe area". We do this on all our field research - setting aside a specific enclosure that any team member can go to if unfolding events prove fearful to them. In fact, it is our policy to send a 'buddy' along, who remains with them the entire time they wish to stay in the safe area. We divide into buddies at the beginning of our field session so that each team member is accounted for, and accountable, at all times. She told us that if she had seen anything more from the ETs, she would have run screaming down the mountainside.

Preparation is Key:

Her reactions impressed upon us the importance of training for each team member. It served as a strong reminder to us to be more stringent in adherence to our policies regarding untrained guests who wanted to join our field work. Much to my surprise, Dr. Greer and I learned from our teammates that we had been standing there, exchanging communication with the extraterrestrials, for nearly two hours. We both thought no more than thirty minutes had elapsed. By this time, it was nearly 3:00 am, so we broke camp and went home.

The Encounters Continue:

The following day was a busy one with an appearance on Diana Chapa's live TV show in the morning, a field trip to another site in the afternoon, and a talk at the Ovni Club that evening. It was about 11:30 pm by the time we were driving up the narrow road to our Las Mitres site. Interestingly, our videographer teammate was absent from field work. He had decided to stay in the city to visit his friend and her son. As the Suburban headed up the gravel lane, Dr. Greer and I simultaneously observed a small, bright light on the side of Las Mitres. We knew from the previous night that there was no light normally in that area. Tonight we also had with us our American friend's Mexican husband. He and our driver assured us there were no houses, no power lines, no roads, nothing on the sheer cliffs of Las Mitres.

As we came to the base of the mountain, Dr. Greer jumped from the Suburban while it was still rolling. The other woman and I jumped out and grabbed the bare necessities of field gear: a 500,000-candle power portable halogen light, our night vision scope, binoculars, a small camcorder, and a hand-held micro-cassette recorder.

Because of the reaction by an untrained participant the previous night, we sent our driver and his friend down the road. We told them we could not afford any panic this night. Unbeknownst to us at the time, the men went to a spot at the bottom of the road where they could clearly see the events that unfolded.

Are We in a Spielberg Movie?:

Dr. Greer grabbed the halogen light and sent a signal to the star-like light on the hillside. Instantly, the light transformed into a gigantic, brilliant round beam that shot light down the entire mountainside! We were astonished. It came close to being the time we always joke about - when events are so incredible that we'll wish we had on "Depends" undergarments! We continued to have a Close Encounter of the Fifth Kind - a human-initiated or human-interactive experience - with this craft for the next two hours and fifteen minutes. An exchange like this, with a team in the field, is unprecedented. During the lengthy encounter, we sent light signals to the craft. The craft would signal back to us in the exact same sequence. Then its lights would extinguish. Within a few minutes, it would again illuminate and initiate a signal to us. This went on and on. Twice during this time period, we saw the shadows of beings walking in front of the blinding beam. At times, the beam would rotate upon itself, appearing to the left of its original position - then back where it was. Once the light seemed to turn over on itself, illuminating the sparsely forested slope behind it. This was one of the times when figures were seen to move in the beam.

Hoaxability Ration - Low to Zero:

It must be emphasized that this is a very remote area devoid of roads. For anyone to have hoaxed this event would have required something on the scale of a major motion picture crew. There was simply no way to have moved equipment like this onto these sheer slopes. It would have caused quite a commotion in the suburbs below if a crew of that magnitude had traversed those sheer cliffs that day. The area would have been swarming with lookie-loos. At the end of the two hours and fifteen minutes, the light, which by now had split into two candle-flame colored round lights, turned to brilliant red, shot out a lightning bolt of energy and vanished. We saw a golden streak shoot through the sky towards the direction of the ancient volcano, Topochico. And the energy was gone. It was not until this point that we fully appreciated that
1) we'd been standing up for all that time, and
2) our hair had stood on end the entire time.

As a side note, I want to report that when we first got out of the vehicle at the base of the mountain, I heard crickets chirping in stereophonic synchronicity. One would chirp on our right, then one would chirp on our left. The chirping was loud and distinct. When I heard it, I told my teammates that it was significant. I had heard similar chirping prior to another major encounter in the past. It was moments later that the gigantic craft illuminated before us.

Eventful Trip Home:

We signaled to our drivers to bring up the Suburban. When they arrived, we learned that the men had gone to a vantage point and had seen everything, giving us two independent witnesses. In fact, from their extra distance the light was not so blinding and they were able to discern the craft. They both reported seeing a very large disc-shaped craft with a domed top. The men were extremely excited. They said they felt bonded now, like brothers. The American's husband said that his life would never be the same again.

As we were riding on our 30-minute drive home, Dr. Greer remarked that he felt the ETs would follow us. Within a minute, the man in front was exclaiming, "la luz, la luz!" (the light, the light!) We could then see that the gigantic light was visible from the road, showing itself to us on the opposite side of the mountain from where it had been at our field site! We stopped at a closed gas station, signaled and videoed (which came out fuzzy and blurred). You will recall that, of all nights, our videographer was not with us this night. Coincidence or orchestrated by the ETs? So many such things happen that we have to ponder the possibility. This time, the light was not appearing as two lights side by side. Instead, they were two lights stacked one on top the other. We continued to observe it on the remainder of the homeward ride, stopping twice more to observe.

When we arrived home, we climbed up to our flat roof. We could still see it, even though the entire valley of the city of Monterrey was now between us, the back side of Las Mitres and the rest of the range. The lights were still there. They had changed position again and were now staggered, one atop the other. They had been so bright that we could see the rock face behind it illuminated. As we watched, the lights dimmed down to about half their luminosity.

The Craft Revealed:

At this point, we could clearly see the structure of the craft. It was indeed a large disc with a sloped dome on top. By measuring with fingers at arm's length, Dr. Greer determined that the craft was between one-half to one full city block in size. As the birds began to sing and the sky began to lighten, we bid goodbye and heartfelt thanks to our visitors for these remarkable experiences and went inside to sleep, and dream of them.

Final Notes:

I wish to advise that the three persons who interacted with the craft as described above included three very responsible and stable individuals. Dr. Greer is a practicing trauma physician, father of four, world-renowned expert on extraterrestrial intelligence. He is the founder of CSETI, and the visionary and guiding force of it. Our teammate from New York is cofounder of a research foundation and is personal friends with world leaders in both the political and private sectors. And I myself have been educated in the sciences and the law and worked for many years as a paralegal, which gives me a logical mind upon which to base my ongoing extraterrestrial experiences. - Shari Adamiak

I describe how I first met Shari in 1992. It was an experience that I will never forget:

2024.05.15 18:50 Little_Goal5826 Knowing the truth

Hi All,
Been here for over 5 months now.
Long story short. Wife (31F) of 5 years cheated on me (27M) with a co-worker in September - December 2023. We have 1 child together, and I have a stepson, which is her little boy from previous relationship. My daughter is 2, and her son is 7.
She cheated because she was lonely, she had shit going on and never bothered dealing with it, instead she stepped out and done something that made her feel better about herself.
We’ve both done IC, and she realised that if she was ever unhappy in a relationship, rather than voicing it, she stepped out as it was easier. She took the route of a coward, damaging me and the kids in the process.
I think she didn’t realise the consequences of her actions until the kids asked if me and her will be breaking up, which was like a stab to the heart for her.
I had a lot of TT throughout the discover, but she says it’s all out.
She cut contact immediately with AP when it came out. She quit her job immediately and now works in a woman only office, she’s been giving me her phone, all of it. She begs and cries for me not to leave her, and is showing true remorse for her actions.
The only thing that’s stopping me from fully committing to R is, do I know all the truth?, as I have this feeling that this isn’t the first time she had cheated on me. To give you some context:
While this was unraveling, somebody that she hasn’t spoke to in about 10 years apparently, sent her a message on Instagram saying “Hey, just wanted to reach out and apologise about how I treated you, I guess I’m just apologising before karma catches up”. She had shown me the message as soon as she received it, but said that it was weird as she hadn’t spoken to him in like 10 years. She wasn’t even friends with the guy on IG, and few hours later, he deleted the message along with the request and blocked her.
Then a few days ago, another of her Ex’s that used to be her old lover, from about 10 years ago again, reached out to her with a waving hand on Facebook. Again, last convo they had based on her fb messages was back in 2020, and it was just a memory she sent him of him with her cat when they were together.
When this was all happening, I’ve also seen that she spoke to another Ex back in 2021 via snap, as the chat was there, but again, she said that it was probably when she was replying to him on his story or something (then I find that all of his photos, she liked on socials in that timeframe).
We’ve been together for 5 years, and married for 1. I knew of these people as she used to tell me who her previous partners were as this was something I wanted to know when we got together.
She is so so so adamant that she didn’t cheat on me prior to this. She begs for me not to leave her, and that she’ll do anything to fix her fuckup, and that she won’t make it without me.
We have been through a lot together, we lost 2 babies, her dad was diagnosed with Cancer recently again.
I’ve been looking after myself, have put on weight, gained loads of muscle, started running, looking after my skincare, and actually started to get a lot of attention from women. I am successful, work in Cyber Security, and get paid really well.
I just can’t seem to move forward with R until I have heard every lie, but all I get told is - “you know everything, I have told you everything, there is literally nothing else for me to say”, how am I suppose to believe that? How am I suppose to believe that she didn’t cheat before?, I can’t!, too many people are popping up randomly, apologising, reaching out, why?
She says she doesn’t know why, and that she can’t control what other people do. I’m so lost, I do want to make it work with her, I really do, but I can’t without knowing that there’s nothing left to say and without knowing that I know everything.
We talked about polygraphs and stuff, but apparently they’re not reliable as apparently somebody can tell the truth and still fail and vice versa.
I don’t know what else I can tell her to reassure that whatever has happened in the past, I just need to know between us, so I can process and put it on the shelf, where it will stay, and then fully commit to making R work with her, as she’s really, really trying.
This sucks so much. I am only 27, and the things I’ve experienced in life, I wonder to myself, what did I do in my previous life to deserve all of this pain…

In the in-depth document posted below prolonged telepathic exchanges reportedly occurred with two types of non-human beings, very small ones and a larger humanoid being.
