Got a few leftovers from large orders. Please note that the colors on Banditocam have been updated slightly to more closely match some common camoflage colors. It's not a very significant change, but if you already have some Banditocam products then don't be surprised if this is slightly different. I've also received a batch of coyote brown HK snaps.
Banditocam new colors comparison
Steel HK snaps in black and coyote $3.50 each ($7 a set). These are not Amazon pot metal junk.
Soft loop webbing sling attachments $4 each ($8 a set). Similar to Frank Proctor sling loops.
Slings in stock, 2024-05-09 @ 3:30 PM EST:
Pattern Price Quantity
Rhodesian Brushstroke $35.00 1
Multicam Black $35.00 1
Paint Splatter $35.00 2 1
Banditocam $39.00 3 1
Keychain - Rhodesian Brushstroke $15 alone or $10 addon 1
Keychain - Tigerstripe $15 alone, or $10 addon 1
If you want one, dibs it in the thread and shoot me a message. Please don't use Reddit chat.
THE SALES PITCH:
I sew these slings up myself. Some are berry compliant webbing, some aren't... depends on the pattern. Everything is sewed up with Berry compliant hardware and bonded nylon V69 thread. The front half of the sling is 3ft long and the rear is 4ft long; max length is about 66" when the slack adjusters are backed all the way off.
These have quick adjust slider on the front with an elastic loop (unpadded only) behind it for keeping the slack when storing your musket. The ends are left open with a triglide so you can attach any kind of 1" QD/snap hook/paracord loop/etc or just fasten them to the built in sling loops on your stock, FSP, etc.
The padded slings are 1/4" cross-linked polyethelyene (XLPE) 4lb foam in a 1.5" wide sleeve, sewn to the back of the sling. The only functional difference between the regular and padded slings is the lack of an elastic slack retainer loop on the front. It can vary with different colors or patterns but generally the sleeve is 500d cordura with waterproof backing.
If you purchase more than one I'll throw in a 10% discount on each additional item.
17337 slings tend to be very smooth to adjust out of the box. 55301 tends to need to be broken in a little bit but becomes just as slick once it has a chance to pass through the adjuster a few times. Jacquard slings are even stiffer on adjustment side and need a break in period due to the webbing thickness. They will break in, but don't be afraid to muscle them around until they do.

2024.05.05 21:07 thiswasmadeonawhim My Wild World K.K. Slider plush

My Wild World K.K. Slider plush
I got this K.K. Slider plush toy as a 7th grader back in 2007 or so as a prize at either Six Flags or Knott's Berry Farm (pardon his dusty appearance). I vividly remember going there with 3 friends and we failed to win any prizes at a fairway booth. While we were getting funnel cake, a gaggle of high schoolers came over to us and offered us like 3 or 4 prizes from the same booth? just unprompted too. Afterwards, my mom gave them like 20 bucks as a thank you. At the time I had never played Animal Crossing so I just chose "the cool dog with a rockin guitar". iirc, my friends got a Rosie and a Goldie (gotta check with them if they still have them even lol)
Hard cut to me in 2020 playing my first ever Animal Crossing game and meeting that "cool dog" for the first time. And now I am terribly curious like, what merch line this K.K was a part of. All the searches I've made of old toy lines don't seem to include him? I'm 100% sure he was a part of the non talking Wild World TOMY plush line, but I can't find any evidence of him existing. Probably not searching for him correctly, but I mostly wanted to know if Anyone else out there had him. Well, that but I also wanted share my memory just in case any of those teens we met back then still remember this encounter. If any of them are reading this, thank you again for being so kind to some random kids!! I loved this K.K. and still do, even if I didn't know who he was for over a decade. 😌

Gargs appear from the 2nd wave. 4 Zcorpions came in on the last wave. - No real issues just need to handle carefully zombies and be careful with dinos. - Best perk: Penny Multi-Shield or Boost Tile - Mid perks: Stall Zombies and Crop Duster. Zombie Rate: on Hot and Extra-Hot Bucketheads have a 50% chance to switch with Carnie Imps
Note: - easy lvl but in terms of objectives it might be the hardest out of the 5 levels of the event - if you fear that the Explode-O-Nut on L5 is gonna be destroyed, you can protect it with Pumpkin - if you wonder how to get rid of Carnie Imp Twins easily without risking that flowers get trampled, just pick Draftodil and Bye bye Imps! - Best perk: Penny Multi-Shield or Boost Tile - Mid perk: Stall Zombies for what it's worth - Bad perk: Traffic Jam and Crop Duster. You don't wanna use that last one cause you'd risk failing the bonus objective.

Plant food zombie: 6 or 7 through the match

2024.04.18 14:18 sonofabutch No game today, so let's remember a forgotten Yankee: Dennis Rasmussen

"It was a privilege to play in New York, and I'd wish it for anybody. Anyone who goes to New York, you can't put yourself in a better position. To understand what it's like, to put on the Yankee uniform, the pinstripes... it's almost magical." -- Dennis Rasmussen
Dennis Rasmussen wove in and out of Yankee history, getting traded to the Yankees for Tommy John, then getting traded by the Yankees for John Montefusco, then getting traded to the Yankees for Graig Nettles, and then getting traded by the Yankees for Bill Gullickson!
Dennis Lee Rasmussen was born April 18, 1959 -- happy birthday! -- in Los Angeles, California. He was riding his bike in San Clemente as a freshman in high school when he was hit by a car; his leg was so badly injured doctors thought they might have to amputate his foot. Fortunately, the foot was saved -- though he no longer has any cartilage in his left ankle -- and just six months after the accident he was playing high school basketball again.
That summer, the family moved to Idaho for two years, then to Colorado for his senior year. He graduated from Bear Creek High School, where he played basketball, baseball, and tennis, winning the state doubles championship.
Rasmussen was drafted out of high school by the Pittsburgh Pirates, but he declined to sign a contract, preferring to take an offer of a full ride from Creighton University to play basketball. The 6'7" forward would later say that he had always preferred playing baseball, but knew basketball was his ticket to a college scholarship... because he wanted to be a dentist!
At Creighton, Rasmussen usually came off the bench as, in his own words, "a sixth man who could give the starters a blow and not have the team lose anything." Rasmussen scored 347 points in 68 games, made two March Madness runs, and beat Larry Bird's Indiana State University team three times.
But Rasmussen's mind was still on baseball. He had worked out an agreement with the basketball coaches that he could play baseball once March Madness was over, and he said after basketball practices he'd pitch to get ready for the baseball season by pitching to a catcher in an empty gym. It worked: During his junior year at Creighton, he set a school record with 84 strikeouts in 61 2/3 innings pitched.
When it was time to turn pro, Rasmussen had an easy choice: he was drafted in the first round (#17 overall) by the Angels in the 1980 MLB draft, but not at all in the NBA draft. In a 2021 interview with Rocco Costantino, he said it was a surprise he'd been drafted at all, let alone in the 1st round -- and he was still thinking about becoming a dentist. But the Angels offered him a $80,000 bonus, so he signed the contract. Dental school could wait!
Rasmussen quickly climbed through the ranks in the Angels' minor league system -- A ball in 1980, Double-A in 1981, Triple-A in 1982. In 1982 he went 11-8 with a 5.03 ERA, not great, but this was the offense-crazy Pacific Coast League, where the league average was 5.44 runs per game. It was good enough, in fact, to catch the eye of the New York Yankees.
On August 31, 1982, the Yankees traded Tommy John to the Angels for players to be named later. (John, who had been with the Yankees since 1979, went 4-2 with a 3.86 ERA in seven starts with the Angels, then 1-1 in two starts in the post-season. In 1986 he returned to the Yankees for the final four seasons of his career.) Reports at the time said the Yankees were getting back three mid-level prospects. The Yankees decided to bundle them and turn the three mid-level prospects into one top prospect -- Rasmussen.
After just a year in the Yankee organization -- and going 13-10 in Triple-A, with a 4.57 ERA, 1.486 WHIP, and 187 Ks in 181.0 innings, but never making it to the Show -- Rasmussen was for the second time in his career the "player to be named later." In August, the Yankees acquired veteran starter John Montefusco from the Padres, and a month later, the Yankees completed the deal by sending back Rasmussen and minor league infielder Edwin Rodriguez.
Maybe the funniest story about Rasmussen is about what happened next. Rasmussen and Rodriguez arrived at the San Diego airport, not knowing where to go or what to do, and Rasmussen saw Ted Giannoulas, the San Diego Chicken... though he wasn't in costume. "We all knew him because he was always in our clubhouse getting dressed, but nobody else would recognize him," Rasmussen told BallNine.com. Giannoulas recognized Rasmussen, too, and asked him how he was getting to the ballpark.
"He asked if anyone was picking us up and I told him there wasn’t. He said, 'I got you covered. My limo is waiting for me at the airport, you can ride with me.' We got off the plane and rode into town in the San Diego Chicken’s limo. That was my first ride to the Big Leagues."
Rasmussen made his MLB debut on September 16, pitching two scoreless innings in relief in a 6-0 loss to the Braves. He pitched three more times that season, for a total of 13.2 innings, allowing five runs (three earned) on 10 hits and eight walks. But he also struck out 13.
Rasmussen looked like he would be competing for a start in the Padres rotation the following season. Instead, just six months after the Yankees traded him to the Padres, the Padres traded him back to the Yankees... for a Yankee legend who had worn out his welcome.
During the 1983-1984 off-season, veteran third baseman Graig Nettles wrote a tell-all book in the style of Jim Bouton's Ball Four and Sparky Lyle's The Bronx Zoo called Balls. It did not portray the early 1980s Yankees -- or George Steinbrenner -- in a favorable light.
Steinbrenner wanted Nettles off the team, but Nettles could veto a trade he didn't like. So Steinbrenner had to engineer a deal with a team Nettles wouldn't say no to -- his hometown San Diego Padres.
In exchange, the Yankees took back Rasmussen and yet another PTBNL, this time minor league pitcher Darin Cloninger.
Rasmussen opened the 1984 season in Triple-A for a third straight season, but was called up a month into the season. He made his first start as a Yankee on May 23, throwing eight shutout innings against the Mariners with two hits, three walks, and 10 strikeouts. His next start wasn't as impressive, giving up six runs on four hits and two walks (but another seven Ks) to his old team, the Angels, on May 28. In his first two months in pinstripes, 10 starts, Rasmussen went 1-3 with a 6.32 ERA and 1.309 WHIP in 58.0 innings. But he turned it around over the second half, going 8-3 with a 3.75 ERA and 1.241 WHIP.
Despite his impressive second half, Rasmussen for whatever reason was in Steinbrenner's dog house. Maybe he was still mad about Nettles and decided to take it out on the guy he got for him.
In any event, it seemed like the big lefty could do no right in the Boss's eyes. On July 22, 1985, Rasmussen was 3-4 with a 3.66 ERA and 1.329 WHIP -- not great, but at the time it meant he was the team's second best starter behind Ron Guidry. (The other starters were Joe Cowley, Ed Whitson, and 46-year-old Phil Niekro -- it was not exactly a strong rotation.)
That night's game at the Kansas City Royals was ABC's Game of the Week, and Steinbrenner was in the booth with Howard Cosell. "If Dennis Rasmussen doesn't pitch well today," Steinbrenner vowed on live television, "I'm going to send him to the minors."
Rasmussen didn't give up a run over the first four innings, but in the 5th gave up two runs on three hits and a hit-by-pitch. Rasmussen was pulled and reliever Rich Bordi allowed both inherited runners to score. Sure enough, the following day Rasmussen was exiled to Triple-A, and the Yankees replaced him with Marty Bystrom, who in eight starts posted a 5.71 ERA and 1.537 WHIP. Thanks to a generous 4.68 runs scored per game in his starts, Bystrom was 3-2, but what if Rasmussen had stuck in the rotation, and in those eight starts pitched around the level he had been at when sent down -- a 3.87 ERA? The Yankees that year finished two games behind the Blue Jays for first place and the difference may have been Steinbrenner's comments while in the booth with Howard Cosell.
Rasmussen returned from the minors when rosters expanded in September and he was was ineffective in four relief appearances, giving up six runs (three earned) on eight hits and two walks in four innings, so maybe it wouldn't have mattered anyway.
In Spring Training 1986, sportswriters gave Rasmussen a slim chance of making the rotation after what had happened the previous year. There appeared to be no room for him, anyway, with a projected Yankee rotation of Ron Guidry, Britt Burns, Joe Niekro, Phil Niekro, and Ed Whitson.
The Yankees also had in camp the player Rasmussen had been traded for in 1982 -- the about-to-be 43-year-old Tommy John, who had been released at the end of the 1985 season. John went unsigned that winter -- it was later cited as an example of alleged collusion by the major league owners -- and went to Yankee camp that Spring Training as a non-roster invitee just in case one of the other starters didn't work out.
In fact, two of them didn't. The Yankees released the 47-year-old Phil Niekro after a disastrous spring training, and Burns, acquired from the White Sox that off-season and tabbed to be the Yankees' #2 starter, hurt his hip and never pitched in pinstripes.
Then John, the insurance policy, hurt his back and didn't return until May.
Rasmussen said years later in an interview with the New York Daily News, Steinbrenner -- for a second time -- proclaimed to the world that Rasmussen would be sent to Triple-A. It happened after a bad outing against the Texas Rangers in Spring Training:
"I was pitching in Pompano Beach, and the wind was blowing out, short ballpark, and I gave up a wind-blown home run to Curtis Wilkerson, and I got taken out of the game shortly thereafter. Mr. Steinbrenner stood up in the stands, apparently, among many writers, and said, 'That's it, I've seen enough, you're on your way to Columbus.' But then Tommy John got hurt, pulled something in his back, so I got another chance."
Instead of Triple-A yet again, the injury to Tommy John meant Rasmussen not only made the team, but became the staff ace, going 18-6 with a 3.88 ERA and 1.158 WHIP in 202.0 IP. But once again the team came up short, finishing 5.5 games behind the Boston Red Sox, who went 95-66 and then this happened.
As good as his numbers were that season, they likely would have been even better if not for getting hit by a line drive on his pitching elbow on July 22. To that point in the season, Rasmussen was 12-2 with a 3.30 ERA and 1.084 WHIP. He would then be out the next two weeks before returning August 5. Over the rest of the season, he was 6-4 with a 4.94 ERA and 1.296 WHIP, including a 5.10 ERA and 1.370 WHIP in September.
Rasmussen got off to a hot start the following season, going 3-2 with a 2.67 ERA in his first eight starts, but by August 25 he was 9-7 with a 4.75 ERA. The Yankees, after battling for first place most of the season, fell to 4 games out and Steinbrenner wanted to make a move, trading Rasmussen to the White Sox for Bill Gullickson.
After it was announced that the Yankees had traded Rasmussen away for the second time in his career, reporters gathered around him for one last interview as he emptied his locker. The last thing he removed was something he had taped there after the previous year's spring training. It was a baseball card of Curtis Wilkerson -- the player who had hit the wind-blown home run off him that had so angered Steinbrenner!
Gullickson went 4-2 with a 4.88 ERA for the Yankees, but Rasmussen went 4-1 with a 3.97 ERA for the Reds. It likely wouldn't have mattered anyway, as the Yankees finished the season 9 games out. Gullickson, a free agent at the end of the season, went to Japan for two seasons, then returned to the majors and was a 20-game winner with Detroit in 1991.
The following year he was 2-6 with a 5.75 ERA for the Reds back to the Padres for pitching prospect Candy Sierra. Back in San Diego, he went 14-4 with a 2.55 ERA in 148.1 innings, and then the following year 11-15 with a 4.51 ERA. In 1991 he was 6-13, but with a 3.74 ERA, in his final year in San Diego. He had three more injury-plagued seasons, playing for the Cubs and Royals.
His final major league appearance came for the Royals on July 1, 1995 -- giving up three runs on five hits and three walks in 5.1 innings -- and his playing days ended in 1996, at age 37, after he tore his hamstring while pitching for the Rimini Baseball Club in the Italian League. He stayed in the game as a minor league pitching coach for three seasons, then quit baseball entirely in 1999 in order to stay home and with his family and to help run the family business -- the Dairy Grille in Charlevoix, Michigan.
After 20 years away from the game, he returned in 2021 to coach in summer collegiate leagues, and now is the pitching coach of the Billings Mustangs in the Pioneer League.
Even at age 65, he still pitches batting practice!
Rasmusing
"One of my best memories happened when we were coming off a road trip. I had pitched a great game right before we came back. Yankee Stadium had that marquis outside and sometimes they’d put messages for players. Usually, it just said, 'Game Tonight,' but every now and then they would have something like 'Louisiana Lightning Strikes.' So, after that road trip I was driving south on the Deegan towards Yankee Stadium and I look out at the marquis and it read, 'Rasmatazz!' I probably never smiled more or was more proud. I wish I had a picture of it, but I surely wasn’t stopping on the Deegan to do that." -- Dennis Rasmussen
Overall, in 12 major league seasons, Rasmussen was 91-77 (.542 W%) with a 4.15 ERA (94 ERA+) and 1.332 WHIP; in four seasons with the Yankees, Rasmussen went 39-24 (.619 W%) with a 4.28 ERA (96 ERA+) and 1.272 WHIP.
Not bad for a guy Boss George twice tried to banish to the minors!

2024.04.01 19:14 BananakinSkyflopper [WTS] Quick Adjust Minimalist Slings- paint platter, black topo map, multicam, splittertarn, Banditocam, and more!!! $30-$39

Timestamp: https://i.imgur.com/3cLpeO6.jpg
Other pics: Imgur album
I'm heading out of town in a few days. Posting up some of my current stock before I leave. Got a few new patterns: splittertarn, "paint splatter" and "topo map black". I have both webbing and cordura, so matching padded slings are an option.
Stamped steel HK snaps $3 each ($6 a set). These are not Amazon pot metal junk.
Soft loop webbing sling attachments $4 each ($8 a set). Similar to Frank Proctor sling loops.
Slings in stock, 2024-04-10 @ 10:00 AM EST:
Pattern Price Quantity
AOR1 $35.00 2 1
Multicam jacquard $35.00 1
Paint Splatter $35.00 2
Splittertarn $35.00 2
AOR2 $35.00 1
Banditocam $39.00 1
Desert Night Camo $35.00 2
Multicam $35.00 2
Ranger Green $30.00 3
Rhodesian Brushstroke $35.00 1
Tigerstripe $35.00 2
Topo Map Black $35.00 2

2024.04.01 14:34 Lawyer_of_the_ppl9 A Thesis: Why ARK is optimized just fine and ur just salty.

So I've gathered some thoughts about the game while I was experimenting with graphical settings, and different console commands to turn up, turn down, add, remove entirely all kinds of stuff. (Also I feel like this right here is far enough into the subtext to let those who are actually reading the entirety of the post to know that I do not have an actual claim one way or another in regards to how well or how bad the game is optimized. But because I know some people will read a title and then comment without reading the whole thing, I've made that title in such a way that I can easily identify these people and ignore them or type lol). Because I am obsessed with having consistent frame rate on my computer (60fps STABLE) and I've been told by computer repair dudes that they wish they had my computer, I've come to the realization that I don't have a bad computer, so I tried to really give Ark another shot in the graphics department if you know what I mean. At first I maxed everything out, and things weren't bad, but imagine after I've built a large and shiny metal base with dozens of dinosaurs, the frames can only go down from there. Right? So I want to to see how I can get stability, whether or not it's achievable, and most importantly..... What's causing it. Is it truly the spaghetti code that people constantly claim is that fault? Is there more to it? I don't see a lot of people having this type of analytical eye about this matter. Everything I've seen on the internet usually revolves around some guy with a Dollar general graphics card mad that his Nvidia 970 isn't getting 60 FPS. So I'm moving all of our salty tears into a different box so I can look at this with a more academic eyeball.
To that extent, the biggest thing that I have noticed that is a game changer are things that we would normally say duh about but one thing in particular really stuck out the most.
A few of these things would be clouds, fog, light, shadows, reflections, and what in particular I think should have an on and offsetting or at least some kind of dial or number I don't know, is if you go and stare at the ocean you'll notice that it actually looks amazing. On low or high settings the Ocean looks good. The Blue water the shimmering waves how you can kind of see into the water and see how the sand and the rocks under it kind of meat kind of and where it drops off into the deeper ocean.... And then it occurred to me it looks that way even on the lowest setting.... Shimmering water.. I bet if there's an option to either turn that off or dial it back in its entirety you'd get better frames. Now personally on all of my games I turn water quality way down because I don't care. You can have my rivers and oceans look like blue Play-Doh, and I really don't care. The same with shadows. My shadows can look like Minecraft Nintendo 64 graphics, I really don't care about that kind of stuff especially when it's in the way, or one of the barriers that could possibly stand in the way of me achieving a stable 60 / 120 / 240 frames per second. But the main thing I'm concerned with is stability. I don't care which frame rate I get, as long as it's stable. If it's a 60 I don't want it bouncing to 45, which is why usually I limit my frame rates. Because when I'm getting $145 frames in a game dipped down to 80 or 90 for a second or two, my eye catches that and it feels weird, so I'd rather just have a stable 60 all around to make it look nice and smooth.
And then it occurred to me, shadows, different things to load in, textures, light refractions/reflections .... And then I looked over the field in Ark I was looking out into the field I don't care about the skybox I don't care about the water I don't care about my shadows I do want good textures though... And then I looked at all the plants.... And here's the kicker There are dozens and dozens of those simple plants not even more than a few feet apart from each other!!!! You guys know the plans I'm talking about, the ferns where you go up to it with an empty hand when you first start a server press triangle so you can gather your thatch and berries? Now I understand that Ark takes place in a setting where overgrowth and nature is common King. But we also need to remember that this is a video game and people are playing these video games on computers. SO I DID A BIT MORE TESTING BECAUSE THE PLANTS WERE ON MY MIND. I USE THE CONSOLE COMMAND TO DESTROY ALL NEARBY FOLIAGE IN A VERY VERY VERY VERY LARGE RADIUS. Instant frame improvement. Duh, right? But hold on tight. I used another console command to erase the grass, which gave me even more frames. It became even smoother.
And then I messed with my server settings and made it slower for plants and stuff like that to grow back. Making it very slow for them to come back. And then I made it to where they don't regrow around player structures.
And the stability stayed even with tons of dinos. I think what could help people with lower end computers is a simple toggle ability or a slider, it doesn't matter either way to me, for how closely one resource node is allowed to spawn within another of its exact kind, or to help in regards to specifics, mainly just the common overworld types such as trees ferns things like that. Now if you stuck with me up to this point either I admire your critical thinking skills and your ability to put your disbelief on hold for a moment and take this journey with me, or I believe you've stored up some salt water in that super soaker of yours and plan to unleash it in a gnarly comment (do which obviously I'll just respond "lol" with) HOWEVER: truly think how good it would be for the people with lower end computers, if there was a simple toggle to remove grass (idc, make it pve only idk, i play single player so) and to make it to where you don't have miles and miles and miles of just friends and trees that are so densely packed to one another, that it makes Timmys PC sound like a beaten up, war-torn PlayStation 4. The ability to dumb down water even more, maybe to like Skyrim levels, and another huge thing that I thought about the ability to make it to where plants don't sway in the wind, or have animations at all, what drastically allow the people without NASA computers to enjoy their experience at a nice and high stable frame rate. Combine this with that with that spacing option to not have cluttered ferns and forests hogging up your computer resources....

Tasting Menu Feedback?
I would love some feedback on the tasting menu I have created. All feedback is welcome, I’m wanting to knock this out of the park. I’d love to hear some of your recommendations for a fitting amuse for the tasting as well. Thank you in advance.

We only were able to purchase our home due to assistance from parents ($35k from mine, $20k from Smol’s). I know some people prefer to see that up front so they can skip the read and I totally understand.
We recently adopted a Valentine’s Day kitty, so we have four animals now.

DAY 1
7:45: Startled awake by Smol gently coaxing me into life. It’s the weekend and we are going to the resort to cross-country ski today, so I should have been up earlier. I spent half the night awake because AssCat slept on my legs and he’s a mighty, pint-sized furnace (he was, after all, born and delivered to us straight from hell) that bakes my entire body. I pour myself downstairs. Coffee is ready and Smol is slicing thick pieces of the bread I made last night while frying up some eggs. He serves my plate with a forehead kiss.
8:30: Take both dogs for a walk. Only one dog is coming to skijor, as our youngest doesn’t take kindly to being charged by unruly, off-leash dogs while pulling. An inevitability at the resort. We did a family skijor adventure yesterday, but I still feel like a bad mom leaving him home.
10:00: Make it to the cross-country lodge. We have free passes thanks to a friend that works there, but I need to buy a dog pass ($5). Dog gets all the compliments for being the most beautiful member of the family. We head out to the trails and go our separate ways, Smol on his classic skis and me on skate skis with the dog. It’s fucken wimdy, but the dog loves it and I love dog. He is very adorable in his blue racerback harness with his dog pass flapping in the wind.
1:45: All three of us are beat, but happy.
2:30: Make it home and the power goes out. I get cleaned up and comfy, make some tea, putz on my guitar, and read a graphic novel with NiceCat on my lap.
5:00: After a family dog walk, we make a frozen pizza topped with Field Roast veggie sausage. Then it’s off to the movies for a rare date night. It’s a bit of a drive and I’m afraid I’ll fall asleep on the way.
7:15: Smol buys the tickets and I purchase the snacks and drinks ($29). Smol tells me he doesn’t want popcorn, but I know he’s lying so I buy a medium. He starts eating it 3 previews in.
11:00: Take some Tylenol and fall into bed. I didn’t drink enough water while skiing and my head is pounding. Tomorrow will be better.
DAY 2
6:30: Tomorrow is not better! I wake up to two alarms, mine and Smol’s. I’m immediately confused and ask him why he’s getting up at 5:30. He tells me it’s 6:30. I’m an idiot. I didn’t move my clock forward. My carpool arrives at 6:30. I launch out of bed, get dressed, brush my teeth, and splash cold water on my face in 5 minutes. Fortunately, my carpool shows 5 minutes late. Unfortunately, I did not have time to make coffee, breakfast, or lunch.
7:45: Stop at the donut shop by the office for a large coffee and a donut. My coworker pays (he forgot his breakfast and wallet a few weeks back and I covered him). We get to the office and realize we forgot our key fobs. Coworker taps on our Staff Officer’s window for building access.
8:30: Standing staff group meeting. Travel budget is nonexistent this year. Guess I won’t be attending the big agency conference for my job series this summer. Rats.
12:00: The Employee Association snack cabinet recently returned after a four-year hiatus. It’s saving me today. I put cash in the jar for a handful of snacks that will serve as my lunch and emotional support ($3). I’m having a stressful day and I sense I’m on the verge of either making it everyone’s problem or crying. Maybe both.
2:00: Smol is picking meals and grocery shopping and asks if I have any requests. I add Greek yogurt, tofu, kale, bell pepper, avocado, and apples to his list. This gets added to the ledger of items we will split at the end of the month. He spends about $120 total.
6:00: Greeted at home by two happy huskies, two indifferent cats, and a package. It’s my new two-dog tug rope for skijoring. It’s pretty! Smol is already cooking spiced lentils for dinner, and he insists I bear witness to the many deals he secured on groceries (bounty of berries, a fridge full of sparkling water, raisins that he wants me to pack in my lunches). I take the dogs on their long evening walk and decompress.
8:00: After dinner with Smol I head to the gym to climb and lift. It’s snowing and windy.
10:15: Home again. I have my nightcap ice cream and turn in. Smol left a sticky note on my clock reminding me to spring it forward, so I finally get that updated.
DAY 3
7:45: Logging on later than I planned. Like my car clock I shall remain on Standard Time. It’s a work from home day and I absolutely need to get my project signature ready. It’s snowing a bit again.
9:00: I’m hungry for breakfast. I waggle the veggie sausage links at Smol and ask if he wants some in the scramble (yes). I make us both eggs and load up my plate with them and some berries and toast.
10:30: AutoCAD crashes. I will never know peace. I take a deep breath and remind myself in a few months time it will be field season, I will be in the woods and my biggest concerns will be armed, drunk people breaking into my project sites and running through the trees naked.
12:30: Smol slips me a piece of paper with the sum of money I need to add to our joint checking account for the back tax bills on our house (title company screwed up our paperwork, assessor couldn’t move forward until corrected, we didn’t know about any of this until we were CC’d on the FINAL NOTICE to the title company, we owe two years of back taxes as a result). I move my contribution of $1,823.95 over from my savings account. This is our second installment. We have one more (thankfully much smaller) payment in July.
1:00: I’ve been so locked into work I didn’t even take the dogs for their morning exercise. We all take a break to go skijoring on some trails off the neighborhood. Since we didn’t get out early the snow is soft and the pups are getting a workout. We move slowly but at least they will be tired.
2:00: Make a sandwich and get right back to the grind. NiceCat snuggles in my lap and purrs. Guitar teacher texts me that he’s sick and can’t make our lesson tonight. Shoot. We will plan a make-up session.
4:15: Tea and snack time. I mix up some Greek yogurt with maple syrup, berries, and some cereal for crunch. Offer the cats drugs.
4:30: There is a sudden flurry of avalanche blasting and my older dog panics. I dose him with Sileo gel. Poor guy, I thought we were done with that for a while.
5:45: Log off and curl up on the couch to read a book and decompress.
6:15: The dogs haven’t been able to hang out in the backyard since the snow reached fence height and I feel bad about it. Now that it’s getting soft, we go out with them and dig a perimeter along the fence so they can hang untethered in their snowy domain.
7:15: Smol heats up leftovers and to my great delight drenches several pieces of sourdough toast in butter as a side. We snuggle up on the couch to watch the last episode of House of Ninjas. If this show doesn’t get renewed for a second season I will perish.
8:45: At the gym to lift. Before leaving home Smol says that he prepared a protein dense meal and he “expects mass!!!”
10:15: Get the coffee pot ready and prep my breakfast/lunch/snacks to-go for my office day tomorrow. Read in bed until I’m tired enough to sleep.
DAY 4
5:30: It is Wednesday, my dudes.
7:45: At my office digging into work and my breakfast (Greek yogurt, honey, berries, and cereal). My 3-year-old nephew texts me “Rustshjttchtyygghjbkjjkk. Drystone. Yet the u the Hugh.” Big if true.
9:30: Large staff group meeting with folks from our District offices. Spring is right around the corner and with it comes our busy season. Topics range far and wide, from big picture budget to toilet pumping, hazard trees, and campground host cleanliness (or lack thereof). There are snacks.
12:15: Meeting continues into the afternoon with topics that don’t involve me. I escape to eat my veggie sandwich and apple, then scuttle around collecting signatures on my project package.
3:00: One of my climbing partners wants to rope up tonight. It’s Smol’s weekly game night, so I say yes.
4:50: Log off. There’s usually a big after work happy hour on days that the District staff come into the Supervisor’s office for meetings, but the carpool is collectively too tired to attend. We do, however, stop for a snack at the gas station. I get chips and a vitamin water ($6.29).
6:00: Same old stuff. Walk the dogs, eat leftovers and ice cream.
8:00: Meet my friend at the gym to climb.
10:30: I think I’m asleep before my head even hits the pillow.
DAY 5
9:20: Nothing much to report so far today. It’s been a quiet work from home morning while I wait for signed documents and play catch up on minor tasks.
9:45: Eat scrambled eggs and toast saturated in butter while I work. I do not fear death.
11:30: I’ve been mentoring an interpretive ranger on signage design and he’s having issues preparing his file for print. He packages the InDesign file and sends it to me for troubleshooting. I fix it immediately. I wish I could say it’s because I’m a genius, but I really have no idea why it worked for me and not for him.
1:00: Smol asks if I want cheese Pizza Rolls. Yes.
2:00: We take a long, relaxing family walk. I aspired to skijor in a lovely meadow up the pass today, but my legs are sore.
3:45: I discover I missed an email about a partner agency meeting from 9-12 this morning. I need to talk to them about a water tank they owe us at one of our campgrounds. Dammit.
4:30: Run out to drop off a package at the post office ($4.08), grab a few items from CVS ($36.29), and the grocery store ($25). We have friends visiting from overseas starting tomorrow and I want the house stocked and comfy.
5:45: I sure was hoping to get my package back with the Forest Supervisor’s signature before calling it quits today. Really counting on it for tomorrow’s submission.
7:30: The evening is a flurry of activity: cleaning the house, doing laundry, and moving cat stuff around to prepare for our incoming guests. I fix up the dogs’ dinner while Smol manages ours: bbq tofu sliders and french fries, which we weirdly had last time I wrote an MD.
8:45: Lift. Catch up on my favorite Webtoons between sets.
10:30: Bed.
DAY 6
5:55: I typically schedule my office days to avoid Fridays, but not this week. I’ll be driving straight from the office to the city to pick my pals up from the train station today! I’m driving solo so I sleep in a bit. I hate getting up early.
8:15: Make it to the office. Still no signed docs. My best friend texts me about a dream date our spirits took to the movies last night.
9:00: Greek yogurt with maple, berry, and granola for breakfast. I stare at my project wall. I have a chart of sticky notes with project titles organized under headers titled “In the Woods,” “Decked,” and “In the Chipper.” After weeks of being singularly focused on today’s deadline, it’s time to move some new sticky notes into The Chipper, including a big project due one month from today. But I don’t wanna. I’m so burned out from weeks of stress and it’s Friday. I choose to be irresponsible and pick a small, fun task with zero urgency: illustrations I was asked to make for the Employee Association.
10:30: Smol sends the morning photo dump of all my honeys. He knows I miss them on office days.
12:00: Lunch is leftover bbq tofu sliders. I will be eating with my friends in the city for dinner. We hardly ever eat out (due to cost and a dearth of quality options), so I’m eager to enjoy some town tasties later!
1:15: I have been on this unit nearly 5 years and I just learned we have an office gym??!
2:00: Decide to start some shit with the water tank issue.
5:15: Logging off and heading to the city! It’s about a 50-minute drive to the train station.
6:15: United with my pals and extremely excited about it! We drive around the city while I point out sights before stopping for dinner. My friends insist on paying. We eat slowly and catch up for almost two hours before heading back up the mountain.
9:30ish: Back home with Smol and the critters. My friends settle in, and we stay up a bit late chatting.
DAY 7
8:30: Apparently I was zonked. I’m the last one up and to the coffee pot. My friends are busy doing a little bit of work, but we enjoy a slow morning together chatting and snacking while they manage their business. I start marinating tofu for dinner and walk the dogs with Smol.
11:00: We all head out to enjoy some nature and see the sights.
12:00: Arrive at one of the local breweries for drinks and pizza. Smol orders our pizza while I buy everyone a round ($39.42).
1:30: More nature time. Our friends don’t have the best footwear for snow, but we make the best of it.
3:00: Swing by the grocery store to buy a few items for dinner. I battle my companions at the card reader, but they win.
5:00: We all go to a nearby paved (and plowed) trail system to walk the dogs. The pups frolic through the snow while we talk and enjoy the mountain views.
6:00: I cook one of my favorite tofu bowl recipes. Dinner is a long and leisurely affair, followed by denning down in the living room to watch a movie.
9:45: We all turn in a bit early to rest up. Tomorrow will be a full day at the cross-country ski lodge!
TOTAL SPENT: $1,972.03
Entertainment $34
Snacks/Groceries $34.29 (+ 120 spent by Smol to be divided at end of month)
Miscellaneous $40.37
Drinks/restaurants $39.42
Taxes $1,823.95
Reflection:
This week was such a treat! The visit with our friends continued beyond this diary and I picked up a few more meal and drink tabs. I typically only set aside $50-60 for eating out a month, and we only go to the movies maybe once or twice a year. This isn’t virtuous; we just can’t afford to go out. I kept thinking how nice it felt to loosen up, and I hope someday going out can be a more regular part of our budget.

Um...hi! Where did you come from?
So a few months ago, my red eared slider got some friends/roommates in the form of 8 zebra fish and 2 ghost shrimp. They went into an empty (cycled) quarantine tank and then moved into his 75 gallon. I occasionally will see a glimpse of the ghost shrimp but not often. I will note that neither were pregnant/berried when they went into quarantine or into the big tank.
I did a water change this morning and while siphoning water out, this little guy popped out! I may be new to this but that's not a ghost shrimp...the quarantine tank is now home to half a dozen blue neos but they went in after the ghost shrimp came out and their tank is on the first floor while the turtle tank is on the second floor. There are no plants in the tank because the turtle eats them (there's driftwood and stuff but nothing that this little guy could have hitch-hiked in on.
So here's my question, how did it get in the tank?

[FO4] Making IHO & AN76 work together?
As in the subject, I'm playing a survival run and I am running Flashy(JoeR) - Advanced Needs 76. During game-play I discovered IHO - Immersive Hunting Overhaul and fell in love with it. Now the problem is that these two seem to overlap a lot and I can't seem to find any compatibility patches. Thus: are there any compatibility patches somewhere? If not, what would be the mod/load order and MCM configs to make these run together as much as possible?
The way I have it setup as of now is:
  • AN76 food spoilage off for IHO on.
  • For recipes there's no choice, it's IHO only as far as I can tell.
  • For "farming" there seems to be a problem with "extract seeds" as those come out of AN76 spoiled fruits. I guess that could be mitigated by ensuring via MCM AN76 "spoilage" takes precedence over IHO.
  • Other things i forgot but they conflict?
Any tips on that? Anybody running a similar setup?

2024.03.15 02:21 Inner_Paramedic9917 blackberry curve 8520 :>

Hello, I hope you're all having a good day.
I recently purchased a BlackBerry Curve 8520. However, when I inserted my SIM card, it prompted me to unlock it, requiring a network MEP code. I've searched for solutions online, but all the methods I found require payment. I'm wondering if any of you know of any free methods to unlock it. Any help would be appreciated!

2024.03.14 00:11 BananakinSkyflopper [WTS] Small sling batch - paint platter, black topo map, multicam

Timestamp: https://i.imgur.com/BGQtyCf.jpeg
Other pics: Imgur album
Got a small batch of leftover slings to sell. Just got back from vacation and clearing out old stock before making another production run. WYSIWYG.
Got a couple of new patterns: "paint splatter" and "black topo map".
Slings in stock, 2024-3-14 @ 1:45 PM EST:
Pattern Price Quantity
Paint splatter padded $55 1
Paint splatter regular $35 2
Black Topo padded $55 1
Black Topo regular $35 2
Multicam Jacquard (Murdock) $30 2
These multicam jacquard slings are a little bit on the hard-to-adjust side and need a break in period due to the webbing thickness. They will break in, but don't be afraid to muscle them around until they do.
Table formatting brought to you by ExcelToReddit

Long Haul Flagship Meals on DEL-JFK
I had pre booked the Lamb, but they didn’t have it in their system so had to go with another choice.
Also why did AA stop displaying their wine list?
Any idea if the “Mid Flight Snacks” are served or need to be requested? I don’t recall it being served.
