Prologue: The prologue being an actual challenge was fun. Having to figure out how to get past the first few guards without dying and getting XP from everyone at the top of the ship because they try to attack you right away is always a nice bonus too.
Act 1: While Act 1 was cool, with a lot of unique interactions and a couple of hidden voice lines who actually acknowledge that you're unmasked, the rest of the game didn't have quite as much reactivity. Sahelia and Magister Locke being blind and able to speak with me were the other major highlights there of course.. Surprised Larian added voice lines for a playstyle that you're told not to do several times. I've included those voice lines if anyone wanted to see them at the bottom of the post in a video.
Act 2: In Act 2 it was mostly a murderhobo's dream. Driftwood was unquestable, and everyone other than the Drudanei addicts refused to speak with me (I guess it makes sense they are currently high so a skeleton isn't too shocking?). The surprising part was the source teachers didn't react to my Undead appearance. They were all able to be spoken with, and the Elves after saving Saheila welcomed me. Finally giving me access to vendors.
The weird part was after getting the spirit vision spell most of the ghosts of the world still were afraid of me. Not sure if intended or not. Do ghosts fear skeletons?
Pretty much the only quests that weren't totally broken in act 2 were the source teachers/main story ones but since there's a lot of XP to be earned I left act 2 around level 15 and without issue.
Act 3 was pretty much unchanged. There's not a lot of people you meet anyways, but in the elf tree settlement area they welcomed me into the city & turned on me immedialtey afterwards.... None of them wanted anything to do with me there. The Shadow prince reacted the same way, but the black ring soldiers were kind to me. They had some reactivity to the fact I'm undead (but I think they do regardless of me being masked or not? not sure tbh). The cooler part was that they actually accepted me as they also have undead soldiers.
Act 4 is a nightmare when played this way. You have to fight all the pilgrims all the voidwolken, and all the citizens on the way to Arx. The one surprise was lord linder kemm wouldn't attack me and would speak to me without any mention about my apperance. (Makes sense when you know who he is). Still a little weird he didn't call me out on being a literal skeleton though. Lord Ahu would also speak to me... kind of? The first time he spoke to me and did his usual story. Left his prison, and then was angry at me for the rest of the game. The toymaker was the first of the main story characters who refused to speak with me, but as I'd played the game enough times I at least knew how to continue.
Entering the tomb of the divine was just killing everyone on the way and it got to the point of annoyance. I just wanted to finish up lol. I was a little disapointed there was no reactivity in the rest of the game after Act 1 though. (Much like baldur's gate 3... you can tell act 1 gets the most love in Larian's games)

I don't have any idea of trees but I feel bad for these ones in my garden. Are they still recoverable? I water them every morning. Can you identify the issue?

My wife and I will be doing a 3 week road trip mostly through California starting mid august, and we are unbelievably excited! The dates and locations are mostly set in stone and we're aware there are some big driving days in there, so we have our fingers crossed not to have too many recommendations to change the plan :). We're hoping this gives us a reasonable overview of the main parts of the state for 2 newbies, starting and ending in SF.
We're interested to hear what some locals think of the itinerary, what things would be worthwhile doing in the time we have, and any favourite food spots or exciting things or events that would be interesting for a couple, or spots to see along the general routes we'd be taking. We love food. We love markets and we absolutely love american culture in general (pop-culture, westerns, ghost towns, ). We also fancy doing things a bit off the beaten track, but in saying that we are hitting most of the biggest tourist spots at the same time so not sure how feasible those off the wall sites/things might be if doing a lot of the main city attractions (ie universal studios, hollywood bvd etc)

We'd love to know what the must-do things are to see and do while in LA, and around it for that matter! Aside from that, does anyone have any really quirky or weird things outside of the usual tourist traps to do in any of these locations? We'd love to hear any and all recommendations! What are y'all thoughts?

Demeter Fragrances makes inexpensive, unpretentious scents. Demeter is basically the “Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans” of fragrances.
While some have claimed their formulas vanish shortly after application, I find I get about two hours with their mini purse sprays, and significantly longer with their rollerball oil blends.
The only scents reviewed her are all from their mini purse spray lineup.
I had heard they were single-note products, but I find them layered. Simple layered; like a painting done in various shades of a similar hue, but layered nonetheless.
I haven’t actually tried blending them, or applying scents atop each other yet. I find they stand alone quite pleasantly.
I’ve had fun exploring their various fragrances.
Oh, a note on my ratings: 5/10 is neutral. A solid, wearable “meh.” I’ll wear it, but wouldn’t buy it again.
“Amber” — I personally find it similar to their “Ambergris.” It’s warm, honeyed, and bright. It’s a powdery amber, not a woody amber. 7/10
“Ambergris” — Warm, thickly sweet, animalistic, and musky. I found it too “sticky sweet” for me. 5/10
“Bonfire” — This smells like home! Hardwoods and conifers, smoke rising up from the campfire. This aroma is a cozy fire, rather than a towering inferno. 9/10
“Caribbean Sea” — Fruity-floral, lightly ozonic. A bright marine scent. I found it a bit synthetic (think laundry freshener). It’s not my fave. 4/10
“Dirt” — It literally smells like damp surface soil of a garden! Has a freshwater element as well. Not as deep as “Earthworm.” Great for those who love soil accords. 10/10
“Dust” — I find this quite lovely! Subtle, ozonic, cool and dry. It conjures up images of empty gothic manors, nights on sand under stars, and forgotten secrets 8/10
“Earthworm” — Dirt accord on steroids! Deep, earthy, damp, a hint of fungus. It smells like root cellar, and I -love!- it! 11/10
“Fireplace” — Smells like creosote and burning, rather mineral at the edges. This is definitely a polarizing fragrance. It’s a bit like if Zoologist’s “T-Rex” had a baby. It’s more organic than Imaginary Author’s “Cities on Fire.” I like it, but my family hates it. It’s a 7/10 for me…. 0/10 from my fam.
“Fresh Hay” — Sweetgrass, lightly honeyed sweetness, timothy hay. This was one of those “Ooooo 😍!” scents for me. It’s ’golden green’ for lack of better description. I love it! 10/10
“Frozen Pond” — Crisp, earthy. Maybe a of patchouli? I’m honestly not sure. I like it for the dirt accord! 9/10
“Gardenia” — Rich, heady, intoxicating! I’m not always a floral fan, but for realism this is spot on! 9/10
“Grass” — Smells just like the sweetgrass patches I hit when I cut the lawn! I love it! I wear it to bed for sweet(grass) dreams! 10/10
“Great Barrier Reef” — Marine, salty, drift wood, brightness. This is a beachy ocean scent that conjures up images of crystal water and warm sand. 7/10
“Honey” — Interesting because it’s not overly sweet. Animalistic, heady, beeswax and floral. A bit too linear to be a fave. I need to compare it to Zoologist’s “Bee” at some point. 6/10.
“Kelp” — A crushable green that opens spicy and settles down into a light marine scent. I was hoping for something deeper, murkier. 5/10
“Jasmine” — This is more a “one note” fragrance, and that’s okay. It smells just like the bushes outside a home I once had. Pungent, heady, and organic. 8/10, it’s almost too strong for me.
“Kitten Fur” — Photorealistic kitty scent? Nah. Sweet, fun, consequence-free happy scent? Yes! Powdery musk, fresh linen, warm and delicate. It captures the cuteness of kittens! 8/10
“Lava Rock” — This is strangely intoxicating. Musky, warm, leathery and exotic. It smells very familiar to another fragrance I enjoyed, but I’m drawing a complete blank on which. Something by Zoologist (not T-rex!). 9/10
“Log Cabin” — Oak moss, cedar, wine barrel oak notes. This is good, rustic, definitely reminisce of cabins and whole-wood furniture. Rather linear, but I like it. 7/10
“Magnolia” — A juicy, green floral. I don’t have much experience with the plant, so I can’t say how accurate it is. 5/10
“Mildew” — Touted as “The smell of first turning on your air conditioner.” I was expecting something more wet and dank. To me, this is green pepper. It’s spicy, warm; almost savory. Not something I want to wear at all, but to each their own. 1/10
“Musk #9”— A modern musk fragrance. A woody-fruit profile; lime, bergamot. Rather incense-like. Cool and dry, borderline oriental. A good evening scent. 6/10. I prefer heady and animalistic musks.
“Musk #15” — A classic musk fragrance. Powdery white musk. Fruity-floral top notes, rose at the middle, and base notes that come across like amber and tonka bean. 8/10
“New Leaf” — Spicy, green, like crushed herbs. Has an acidic element rather than sweet. A dry, “white wine” sort of green. Dries to something resembling patchouli (or apple). 5/10
“Paperback” — As it dries, it definitely gives off the scent of printer’s ink and binding paste. There’s a woody-vanilla paper scent too. 8/10
“Petrichor” — Mineral, fresh, sweet rain. Very nice! 9/10
“Puppy Breath” — Sweet, warm, a bit animalistic,and organic. It’s hard for me to describe the notes. Maybe floral? Maybe bubblegum? Definitely an aroma one wants to snuggle with! 9/10 (Personally, the scent reminds me of RSW airport in Fort Myers, FL).
“Rain” — Delicate, fresh water, aquatic, a mineral aspect as well. Rain is an easy-to-wear delight! 10/10
“Rice Paddy” — Rice wine, muddy water, oriental muskiness, mineral notes. It’s nice, pleasant, safe. I’d prefer it for a room fragrance than on my skin. 7/10
“Salt Air” — I’m not sure if I like this or not, it seems to wear different in various environments. Mineral, a bit of salt, and at times I get a citrus element. 5/10
“Snow” — Earthy, ozonic, aquatic and clean! It might not be photorealistic, but it beats out all those overdone “heavy evergreen and/or mint = snow” fragrances. 10/10
“Spacewalk” — This one amuses me, even if I don’t love it. It has an ozonic lift, and metallic element, melded under tropic sweetness. It reminds me a bit of sunscreen. 6/10
“Swimming Pool” — Cool, tropical, with a very faint hint of chlorine. Aquatic, and pleasant. There’s a linen aspect as well. Quite pleasant! 8/10
“Thunderstorm” — Mineral, petrichor, dry earth, vegetation, and rain. This definitely conveys the image it’s aiming for. I found it more “petrichor” than their offering of the same name, but both are good! 9/10
“Wet Garden” — Yes, please! Rain, a hint of sweet-pea flower. Green with floral and tannic elements. Refreshing! It gets more floral as it dries, but stays green and delicate. 8/10

And will it cause a world war?
Perhaps those are not the right questions. My contact said, and this was in 2000 mind you, that the most likely outcome to cause a world war would be a split in a superpower, or what we might call a civil war. Though none of us were enamored with the petulant Texas Governor, in the summer of 2000 I do not believe we could have predicted the split the country now suffers from.
We know that California and Arizona, and Nevada, along of course, with the never-gonna-admit-it-needs-help Texas is in dire need of drought relief. There have been many solutions proffered, one of which is to build desalination plants, another would be to create a pipeline from the Great Lakes or Mississippi River.
We are after all, the United States, and we would never allow our brethren to dehydrate, would we?
Well that is neighborly.
That is just one person, however. And Minnesota still leans blue.
Years ago a more modest proposal met with shall we say, skepticism at its viability. This one would have moved water via pipeline from Kansas to Colorado.
In 2019, in even more of a micro-approach, hands in hats were sent out on a search intrastate, in Colorado. When developers sought water for thirsty Denver ‘burbs, the response was fairly clear:
If we were to look at what is being done now, Arizona is trying to work with, shockingly, Mexico!
But what do the above exchanges tell us about our willingness to share water? It tells us clearly we do not want to share water. All over the west, people are turning their backs on each other. Nowhere is that more evident than Scottsdale, AZ. Scottsdale is a generally affluent Phoenix suburb that is not exactly known for its benevolence. It is known for lush golf courses, courses that have huge appetites for water. This is where now we ask, if my water faucet runs dry, will my neighbor fill a canteen for me? Early signs are not encouraging.
Egads.
Now we can debate the wisdom of building a community in the middle of a parched desert that relies on infrastructure thirty miles away. But if it isn’t a community in need, it would be a farm. Farms make food. Humans need food. Food needs water to grow. We know all this. But..
If you have made it this far and have concluded:
1. Americans might be selfish.
2. Don’t buy a house and hope the well in the desert stays full.
3. Golf is more important to Scottsdalians than their neighbors having drinking water..
you have company.
A massive lobby of country clubbers is complaining about a 3.1 percent request to reduce water consumption, in a desert, while desperate Pinal County could lose 40 percent of its farming capacity. This will mean less food, but what the hey, let’s try to get to the green in two!
Sounds about right (wing.)
Arizona is not alone in this battle, as states all over the country are engaging in turf wars over water. But the juxtaposition is striking. One could imagine aliens visiting and seeing homeless heat victims lying on the pavement, only to pan to the north and see cigar smoking CEO’s playing golf on a lavish green course.
How would they react? They might decide to stick around to see what happens when there are no more water hazards on the course, only sand traps. They might hang around and monitor how long it takes for the privileged to realize they have made a tragic mistake. They might wait to see if it is too late to reverse impending hydrological disaster.
An intelligent species would ask questions. “Why didn’t they share?” “Why didn’t they plan better?” “Why is the planet not able to hydrate itself because it prioritized prep boys in pop-collars ability to hit a white ball into a shallow cup?
These are all valid questions.
And we need to think about them before green fees are cheaper than a gallon of milk.

A little background my boyfriend’s son moved in with us and has not had one night at home without either his girlfriend or multiple friends over. His friends are rude and don’t say hi, or make conversation. In the beginning I would try to make small talk only to hear them talking about me in a negative manner in his room. So I don’t even bother. They eat and drink everything I buy, even crabbing multiple drinks on the way out. I buy sodas, teas, juices, lemonades, bottle water, lemonade. I like to have a large selection. I also buy all the food. The problem is at the end of the month money is tight and what would be more than a month supply is diminished and they will buy food for themselves only- take out- whatever for themselves. They never offer to cook anything or get anything for my boyfriend or I. I think he is such a disrespectful little shit and my boyfriend feels bad for not having been there for his son growing up so he puts up with this blatant disrespect. I have tried to talk to my boyfriend, his son and it goes no where. His son just lies to me saying he didn’t eat it, when obviously there is no one else it could be. He doesn’t clean or do anything. He has tried to cause so many fights between my boyfriend and I by making up things said and done. I’ve learned not to trust him or give him any consideration. It sucks, I hate this because I would like to have some kind of relationship with him but he is a little asshole and I find myself just resenting him. Our AC went out and AZ heat makes driving around unbearable. He will not let my husband or I borrow his car but will let these free loading friends drive it around. He was suppose to pay 1/3 of the rent every month and hasn’t. He doesn’t buy anything for the house. I don’t want him here- I’m pregnant now and it’s just not the type of environment I’m willing to bring a child into. I keep saying this disrespect will not be tolerated or allowed with this new baby. My boyfriend for the most part avoids any conflict. He also avoids addressing any of my concerns, until he blatantly disrespects my boyfriend and he is forced too. It’s awful we go days without talking to him and it sucks- this is not the home I want. However since I buy the grocery’s, and household items. I’m done. So I want to put a lock on the fridge and the cabinets, including laundry soap and even bathroom cabinets. My boyfriend thinks I’m being petty, but I don’t know what else to do. He has been talked to in depth and he says he understands and gets what I’m saying but nothing changes. Also our AC just went out so this sorry it’s not available bs regarding using his car has tipped me over the edge. He actually told me to take public transportation to my OB appointment because it was about 40 min in the car during the hottest part of the day (mind you he was home the whole time) but his girlfriend might want to go shopping when she gets there. I’m over it. I’m on this lease and I want to throw him and his caravan of rude friends out of my house. Obviously I can’t do this so I want to lock the fridge. Am I being petty what would you all do. Please understand I have tried to everything I can possibly think of to connect with him and he is an angry kid and I get it, he had it rough growing up. But I’m tired of being walked on and disrespected: am I the asshole.

Let me first say, I have a house. It's a decent 3 bed, 2.5 bath townhouse. It's just not home anymore. My wife of 21 years and I are going through a really rough patch. Divorce is possible but, financially, seperating is not. So, we sleep in seperate rooms. Wife is cold most times and has another guy she talks to but, wants to leave. My oldest daughter barely acknowledges me. My youngest is distant. Fuck, the only ones who make me feel welcomed are the dogs. So, yeah, I have a house but, I don't have a home. I don't say, "I'm going home," or, "When I get home," anymore. If only we could afford to split, I'd find my own little place and go hide in it.

Last Sunday was my dad's birthday and my parents and I (16f) were celebrating with my half brothers, who are dad's sons from his first marriage, and their wives and kids. My half brothers are both in their early 30s. So the fight started because one of my dad's grandkids called my mom by her first name and then pointed at an old family photo of my dad and his first wife with my half brother's and called her "gamma" and she was waving at my half brother's mom in the photo.
For whatever reason it only clicked with my parents then that my half brother's kids use mom's first name for her and never call her grandma. I always noticed. They only use my name too while my other half brother gets called Uncle Name. This started a fight where dad asked why mom was only her name and not grandma name and how come a 3 year old doesn't even call her grandma when she's young enough to naturally call mom grandma.
My half brother's said my mom isn't their grandma and they never claimed she was. Things started to get really intense from there with my parents and I tried leaving the room but I could still hear the fight. So then I left the house for a couple of hours and when I came back my half brothers and their families were gone and my parents were mad that I'd left unannounced.
I told my parents I hadn't wanted to get caught up in the fight. My dad told me I should have stayed and supported mom because imagine how difficult that fight was for her. They also said I didn't seem surprised or upset and I said I never heard the kids call her grandma and I was never aunt either so it didn't come as a surprise.
They told me this was more of a reason to stay and be supportive and stand up for what's right and how cruel my half brother's are being in treating us that way. I pointed out how they were never close to me or mom but I got shut down. My parents lectured me about how wrong I was to leave like I did.
AITA?
Oh, and before I forget, my dad's first wife died, my half brothers were 5 and 6. My parents met 3/4 years later. I was born like 1 or 2 years into their marriage. My half brothers never called my mom mom or called mom and dad their parents. It was always like our dad and his wife from them. I was always half sister with the half heavily emphasized and really we were never close. I know they went to therapy together before I was born and after.

STORY TIME: okay so check this out, it’s currently 6am and I am almost done with my shift. As I am taking customers I see one of my banned customers. (Context, he wasn’t officially banned, he was on my you can’t come in on my shift list) the reason why he was banned is because he kept coming in stealing my doughnuts. This wasn’t too much of a problem for me until one night about 3:30am he came in making a doughnut and whip cream sandwich by the coffee station, I saw that his eyes were blood shot red like he was high or something. At this point I waited at the check stand to see if he was going to pay…
He went to the bathroom on the way there his pants fell and he wobbled to the bathroom all exposed. 🫣. At this point I just told him to pull his pants up.
After this he goes into the bathroom for at least a good 30 minutes.
Once he comes out he heads for the door, I tell him he can’t come back because he keeps stealing. This man looks at the door and comes in a hurry to get to my check stand. THIS WAS THE MOST SCARIEST THING I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED.
In my mind I’m like why is he charging at me, I told him the last time he couldn’t do this.
Anyways, to make a long story short, because he saw that there was another customer in the store he vanished away.
