I just recently re-watched all these, and while it would be impossible to watch them in any time period without noticing the elements of Right Wing fantasy at work, the fantasy has only become more awkward in the 5 to 10 years. I was curious about how the politics of the films were perceived in their time, and some cursory research shows that even back then they were pretty divisive. But I think certainly after events like George Floyd's murder, the larger national dialog about misuse of police force, and the 'thin blue line' rhetoric that emerged as a reaction to it, if anything I think the films have gotten harder to watch.
Of course the first reaction you'll encounter when discussing the politics of this series is the typical "but they're just movies" type sentiment. And of course they are. But I'd argue that no one could be even halfway paying attention while watching these to see the agenda. There are just too many heavy-handed clues - these might be some of the least subtle scripts ever written. There's one scene in the first film where the DA literally has to explain to Harry (a detective) how evidence works. The audience is expected to believe that Harry would be genuinely perplexed as to why his actions ruined the prosecution's case, and we're clearly meant to share his feelings that our justice system is stupid for having these protections in place. It's impossible to imagine a non-political justification for such a scene.
But what I do find interesting about the series is that there are also plenty of moments where the politics get blurry. At times it feels like the films become aware of the message they're spinning and try to talk their way out of it. The first unmistakable example in the series is probably where Harry is asked how he feels about Mexicans, after one of his co-works (in a slur-laden line) lists all the ethnicities that Harry supposedly hates equally, to which Harry replies with a wink "especially spics." It's these moments I find the most interesting, because it becomes less clear how we're supposed to take them. The wink itself saves the scene, because it at least validates the possible interpretation that Harry isn't really a racist, that he's not the kind of guy who would use the term "spic" unironically. On the other hand, this idea of "hating everyone equally" is a concept I don't know if the film invented or has since been thoroughly co-opted by real life racists who confuse their own racism for bonafide misanthropy, or at least when it's convenient.
Suffice it to say but the series is littered with such moments, and I found myself sort of enjoying how clumsily it plays with moral ambiguity. Sometimes we veer more satisfyingly into a position where we can interpret this as character complexity on Harry's part. For example, in the second film, he comes up against a group of vigilante biker cops and we find that he's actually not as sympathetic to their methods as they (and we) might have thought. Other times we get the genuine sense that the script really is at odds with itself. The article I link to above does a pretty good job of summarizing the contradictions at work in the series, and I like the observation that the series itself seems to be uncomfortable with its own politics, because I think it was something that nagged at me during this most recent viewing but I hadn't myself put that fine of a point on it.
At this point I'll conclude by saying that I actually do enjoy these movies and Eastwood's performance. In a way I think Sudden Death is the best film of the series, although it's hard to argue with how much of a classic the first film is. While there are moments in some of them that are legit cringe-worthy for reasons already mentioned, they're solidly entertaining and I enjoy re-watching them every so often. The soundtracks are also bangers.

I am in a relationship with a wonderful woman. She is super hard working & takes care of her single mom & grandma financially even though she is just 22. I am proud of her. I admire her.
We've been dating for over 10 months now. For the first 9 months, there were no fights & no conflict. But recently, I went on a long trip and we couldn't meet for 6 weeks. When I returned, we had to constantly cancel our plans to meet for strange reasons. She is the kind of person who doesn't ask questions that often & we don't have deep talks which I feel is very important to form a good bond. So when we didn't meet for two months, I started losing patience. I wanted to talk to her properly, which could only happen if we met in person.
She wouldn't call me by herself, and in my heart, I know that's because she isn't used to calling people by herself and she has had past trauma which is causing certain issues in communication. But recently for small reasons, I have been getting really angry at her.
For example, once she sent me a picture of her in a gym and her best friend shirtless. I didn't like it but didn't want to say anything as I felt maybe I was thinking too much so I just sent a thumbs up. Then the next day I saw from my friend's account that she had posted that picture in her Instagram story but I couldn't see it from my profile, because she had hidden it from me. I was already missing her a lot and was frustrated with the lack of communication or affection from her side. And this made me furious. She later explained that she hid me because she knew I didn't like that picture as I had sent a thumbs up. Now, I felt that if she knew I didn't like it, then why not just not post it? Why go through the extra step of hiding me?
I know for sure that nothing is going on between the two but this got into my head. Similar incidents have happened recently. Not big things but I am getting super angry over them and then after a few hours I am like "It wasn't that big of a deal maybe I just shouldn't have gotten angry at her".
Recently when we met, she kept looking at her phone and that was for work purposes but I didn't like it and we fought about that last night.
How do I stop myself from getting angry like that? The communication isn't that good so I just feel a lot of bottled-up frustration and that gets me angry.

I know im gonna get a lot of hate but i just have to vent ,ive seen so many people defending this game and the company like its the best game ever made and i really wonder why ,bc almost everything about this game is mediocre at best ,from the basics like the 3d modeling that looks genuinly awful and cheap ,the ui from the lobby that looks like a cheap indie game ,the skins that are boring at best and ugly at worst ,the extremely boring and forgettable character designs and the boring and uninspired map designs ,to things that go more into how the game plays with extreme balancing issues like bunny hopping ,snipers being overtuned af ,the splinter cell class being broken to the point it needs a total rework ,like having an intel suit that gives wallhacks to everyone in ur team and an ult that gives u wall hacks and a one shot pistol while having a passive that hides u from the minimap regardless of what ur doing ,cleaners having a suicide bomb that dosent kill them while having fire bullets that feel inconsitent af ,lmg having almost no drawbacks aside from reloading which its beraly a problem ,following the ow2 ideas of locking a class behind grinding or having to pay for it ,and thats without even mentioning the problems with the code like hit reg thats beyond awful and many things like entering a game feeling clunky and bad ,idk the game feels and looks cheap and uninspired while being made my one of the biggest gaming companies to ever exist ,the game is fun sometimes but it feels like a free play station plus game that u play for a month and then forget it exists and tbh i struggle to see why so many people are ready to defend ubisoft and the dev team after everything is the same or worse since the 2021 beta

Hi.. My kids and I (ages 15/13, so more adult then kids) will be driving from the Soca valley in Slovenia on the 23rd and fly out of Dubrovnik on the 29th with 6 days to spend in Croatia in between. We will have a car.
We are looking for the best places to stay for ocean activities like kayaking and snorkeling (the more to see underwater the better) as well as some good hiking, all close by so we are not spending too much of the day in transit (We planned to skip Plitvice and Krka for that reason).
We love farmer’s markets and other local type activities, like sporting events, coffee shops with music, etc. And we would like to see some unique historical landmarks that are less frequented by tours. Looking for an active but laid back time. But not so laid back that it’s literally laying back on the beach.. I can maybe tolerate 30 minutes to an hour of laying still if I’m not actually asleep. So, laid back, as in no long lines or big crowds.
If we were to spend 2 - 3 of those nights on an island, which one would you recommend? (Easy to get to and hop around from). And what town would you suggest on the mainland for the other nights? Planning to spend at least the last day/night in Dubrovnik.

Hi all! H63D heterozygous here. My blood work in the past has been all over the place, from 38% saturation to 91% saturation (at my worst - also when I was diagnosed with a thyroid disease), to normal again 36% to then 54% (a bit high) all in the span of 2-3 years. I recently have adopted a low-iron diet as H63D seems to be a problem with iron regulation through diet. My iron levels came back great today (106 serum and 29% saturation - my lowest ever) but the bad thing is my ferritin is 12! Any tips as to how to boost ferritin without raising my TSAT back to unhealthy levels? Thanks!
Also maybe worth mentioning my ferritin has always been on the lower side regardless of TSAT, around 11-17 and at its best 26 - still not amazing.

So, in my country, If you are dependent on a military member, you get covered with the military insurance (pretty sure it is everywhere, but i'm not north american, so just giving a background) until you make to 24yo I (22 transmasc) have been down sick since Friday, and today was the worse, so i finally went to the doctor.
I go through triage, get in to doctors office, and he ask me the normal stuff "How are you? what happened? What are your symptoms"
So i respond "eu tô gripadO dês de sexta" "i'm sick (in masculine form) since Friday"
I always use masculine nouns and adjectives, as my language is veryyy gendered, but normally most people not even bait a eye on that and keep on treating me in feminine.
The doctor heard me, took notes of my symptoms, looked at my form and them
"First, how should i call you?"
That got me by surprise, and i just mumbled that, actully, my name is Elias, but it would say deadname on the forms.
He smiled, and wrote my actual name under my deadname on the form. I was so happy, but SO SICK, i just said a shy thank you.
Then he explained what i should do, what meds should i take and made sure to write the right name on the in the prescription, as it still has to be my deadname.
So since he seemend to be a safe person, i decided to ask something that i needed to ask someome from the military. So i started with "So, i wanted to ask a military guy about it, but..."
And he stopped and "No, look, i'm not a military guy. These clothes, this place, does not represent me. We are here as equal people, and i just want you to have the best care i can offer" (but imagine this with a ...how can i say, a very camp accent? You now what i'm talking about, that men was making clear that he was not just a ally)
I was literally like B!TCH YOU ARE NOT GOING TO MAKE ME CRY RIGHT HERE IN FRONT OF YOU I just felt so safe, which is so hard to me to feel in a military environment.
I asked what i wanted to ask, if he thought i would have a lot of trouble with the insurance if i had my name legally changed. And of course the answer is yes.
We finished the appointment, he wished me the best, and i certainly wish doctor H the best life ever. Having him there and talking to me like that in a place that can be so unwelcoming to LGBTQ+ folks really made my day. Love to see the gays being doctors in the military. Serving. Literally.

I am a Canadian high school student and I got accepted into Waterloo for Accounting and Financial Management (AFM), which is top 150 in accounting globally and places as one of the best accounting schools in Canada.
Ironically, you do not need to take an accounting course as a prerequisite to get into this program so I have zero idea what it's like. I'm starting to do very basic book keeping right now for my friend's management business but it's pretty simple so I don't have an opinion towards it currently.
What do you think of this career path? Do you genuinely enjoy it or find it fun? Or is accounting a depressing thing. I know the salary fresh out of university isn't very good but I heard it can make good money.
For reference, I have been accepted into other business programs in Ontario that are general business, and I would go into a specialization second year. I am considering Waterloo as its co-op program is very good and it is easier to break into Big 4 companies.

Me an my wife have a fairly small condo (1300sqft) 2 Bed 1 bath. My Mother retired last year and moved back to my home state cause she couldnt afford to retire where I live. (this is also the 2nd time moving back to this state). A month after retiring and moving she wants to come visit and stay the winter for like 3 months. I run it by my wife who was not a fan of that long and frankly I wasnt either. My mother is a lot to handle. Loud, always in and out, cant handle silence always has to be talking, I told her we cannot house you for that long. We can do 2 weeks max. My wife works midnights and I WFH in a basement office so she can sleep. At this time our eldery dog was having some health issues as well. (my mother planned on bringing her dog which would make 3 in the house). I explained this to her which she said fine ,which wasnt fine apparently. So she ends up staying with her friend and leaves back home after 2 weeks.
Fast forward 3 months later she wants to come visit. Our eldery dog was diagnosed with cancer. He needs to be let out every 2 hours night and day. I explain to her that now is definitely not a good time to come out and visit. She hates where she lives and has been complaining nonstop (not sure why she moved to a place that she knew she hated) It got to a point where it was affecting my mental and draining me. She decides randomly to come out anyway and stay with her friend again. My dog passes away on her drive out here. My wife and I are extremely upset and not handling it very well. My mother gives me a little space when that happens until she gets into a fight about 3 days later with her friend and wants to stay with us. I tell her no not possible. So she gets mad at me and hits me with the "I dont know why I am being treated like this" basically dropping a guilt trip on me. Eventually she ends up heading home again.

Excuse if this is a little messy. I hardly use reddit, and this entire situation is stressing me out to the point of shakiness and illness. On that not, onto the story.
So, for a bit of context, I am a very, very new adult. I just graduated high school, and I've never had the best relationship with my family besides my mom and brother. I was still very distant from my mom because of some slight neglect in the past. I don't blame her for it because she's a single mom and was working a very hard job.
Extra context, my mom had also been planning a California trip. She had changed the plans every other day. Me and my fiance couldn't keep up with it, especially because he had a work venture there.
The past few months, I had been going out with my boyfriend, now fiance ( we'll call Ax ). My mom had been pretty hard on me because of this. Saying how, "I'm not home enough," and, "I need to help with (this this and this)." So, I was already getting a little fed up. I just wanted an escape from the house which is honestly not a very healthy living space due to my fairly slobbish family. Everytime I would go home she would bombard me with stuff, which I never had to do before, so it made me want out more.
I'm just going to summarize the build up by saying, there were quite a few arguments and she never seemed to listen to me. I also have a super hard time communicating my feelings and confrontation so participating in an argument is a big deal.
Now we get to the big night. The last thing we "talked" about was the California trip and how Ax's parents won't let him go if we stay at her friend's house. She got upset and stormed off. Me and Ax were upset so we went to his birth mom's ( we'll call her Cat ) house to take a break. It didn't really help. I had gotten fed up with all of the arguing and bitterness from my mom. All of the snide comments to Ax. I texted her that I was moving out and wasn't going on the California trip. ( I was moving into Cat's house. )
Now should I have texted her? Probably not, but texting helps me form my thoughts into words. I express more clearly through text, and shut down on the phone and especially in person.
She calls and I freak out and hand the phone to Ax. Mistake number 2. A bit about Ax, he is very very protective of me, especially with some of the stuff I've told him about my family and my dad. He doesn't want me to go through the same thing again. He's also a big jokester but is autistic so he doesn't really get when not to do some of his joking tones and words. They also come off as very disrespectful sometimes and he was kind of tired of her. So my mom is angry.
She tells me to come home within 5 minutes. I very shaky get in the car and we head there. We get there and she takes the keys to the car and my phone. Tells me to come inside and talk alone. Now, I get where she's coming from, but I HATE feeling cornered. I need someone else there by my side or I just shut down. It socks and makes things a lot harder with this kind of stuff. Now the rest is a but of a blur but she gets aggressive. No physical violence, but she does get in my face. I back up and she starts acussing me of telling people I'm violent though I haven't. It blurs again and suddenly I'm packing my things and leaving. My brother (15) by my side sad to see me leave this way.
The night goes by and I hear nothing from her. The next day she texts. I don't remember many of the texts, but I do remember being stressed out and not replying to things often. I tell her I need some time.
Few days go by with few texts I answer and a couple calls I don't. Then we get to church just a few days after the big night and an argument over text starts. She acusses Ax of lying, stealing, and vandalizing her car. The "lying" was a joke he made about his origins that I took seriously at first, I am a very slow person, that he had not realized I took seriously until very very later on. On the stealing, he had not stolen from some of the places acussed, but we did have a separate incident that was true. However, he's done his best to make it up and has not done anything like it since. He got punished by me and his parents. She still thinks he should've gotten worse. He's especially tried to make it up to my mom because he had lost her full trust and she was very obvious about it and still hasn't forgiven him to this day. The vandalizing was him working on the car, but not fixing it fully, because, we'll, she took the car before he could.
I talked about getting my legal documents, the entire point I was texting her in the first place, she brought up Ax herself. I misunderstood her and thought she was wanting to keep them from me so threatened legal action. I won't go deep into this because I'm not a lawyer, but ultimately it was more a threat to get my stuff. She said that I could get my stuff from the garage. Remember when I told you that my family was slobish? Yeah, I have no clue where these documents are and the garage is stacked to the sealing so it's going to take me a bit. I don't want to, but it's the only way to get my documents.
I completely give up at this point. I already said I needed a bit of time, but she continued to text. When I didn't answer email me a mental health line. The only times I would talk to her was to get my stuff. She started making facebook posts warning about toxic relationships, and how losing loved ones without making peace is terrible. This continues for a bit then stopped a couple days ago. The last thing I got, just a few hours ago, was an email. I will be quoting it word for word but changing names blah blah, you know how privacy works.

I just wanted to take some time to explain some things. I wanted to tell you these things in person because it really does matter. Reading something is far different from hearing how someone says it. Arguments and misunderstandings should always be fixed in person.

we parked on a grassy incline at a business with a precarious parking lot in another state on vacation. after parking, we realized we were sliding in mud, and the back end of our vehicle very slowly slid and made contact with the one next to us. to minimize damage, we did not attempt to move the vehicle and instead intended to tow the back end off the vehicle. we discussed with the owner, and they agreed this was the best action. some kind strangers with tow gear offered to assist, but the other party insisted on a tow truck in order to also secure the front end of the vehicle. both parties agreed not to make a police report, and we exchanged insurance information before the tow came. the tow truck cost $350, which we begrudgingly paid for, and they ended up not securing the front end of our car and doing essentially exactly the same as the kind bystanders would have done. the other party seemed happy that there was hardly visible damage done to either vehicle and expressed that they felt bad about the $350 and acted like they would not take anything to insurance. for as little damage as there was, i also had no intention of filing a claim. however, we got a call from their insurance asking if we are filing a claim and asking for our claim number, which I don't understand. what do I do now? why did the other party's insurance call us instead of our insurance anyway? I was left with a scuff that rubbed off of my taillight and a very small paint chip out of my bumper. the other vehicle had about a quarter sized dent. we already did not have the cash to pay $350, and frankly we are not happy to pay whatever else is going to be thrown at us. the situation seems quite petty. the business mentioned that this had happened multiple times before, but no signage or blockades were in place to prevent vehicles from parking on the grassy incline.

My (23M) sister (20F) has been with her boyfriend (20M) since high school. I will be talking about two different younger sister's in this scenario so I will be giving them fake names. Bailey being the 20F and Tammi for 18F.
So recently Tammi has told me that Bailey's boyfriend has cheated on her about two-three weeks ago. Bailey and her bf used to work together at the same place, until Bailey quit to work at a different place. And well the boyfriend has been chatting it up with a coworker who is a few years older than Bailey. They dated for a week until Bailey found out about this affair, her bf said "I thought you knew so I didn't know it would be a problem." Tammi then proceeded to tell me the other things that Bailey's bf has said to Bailey such as. "I don't know the difference between best friend love and romantic love" and "I think I am poly." Tammi did confront Bailey to tell her to leave, but Bailey said that she'll just let him be poly and basically laughed it off.
So a bit of context about Bailey and her bf's relationship. They live together in his parents house and they both pay his parents $200 each a month for rent. When Bailey needs to go to work or get picked up, her bf refuses to do either. Because he's too tired to wake up early to take her to work or simply does not want to do it. So sometimes my step dad would have to drive her to places. The reason why she can't drive herself is because she still has a learners permit, her name isn't on the insurance list so her bf doesn't want her to drive it and yes, he just doesn't want her to drive the car. They also have never been on an actual date. He doesn't buy her any gifts besides chocolate, including special holidays. And this isn't the first time that he has cheated on her. He cheated back in high school and Bailey decided to forgive and give him a second chance.
Bailey once told me that when he cheated on her back in high school she became really insecure. She barely takes care of herself. She stinks of heavy body odor with greasy hair. Her room was a huge mess when she used to live with my step dad. She even lost some of her friends because she chooses her fool of a bf over herself. I do worry about her overall health and I don't think she'll ever able to leave without intervention from our parents. But I also feel that it's not my place to tell my parents since Bailey told Tammi not to tell anyone at all. So I told Tammi that she should be the one to tell our parents.

It's important to understand these things because Jesus warns his followers to beware of false prophets which come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. It's a reality there is so much narcissistic supply to be had in religious settings and narcissistic supply. As I mentioned before is the praise admiration validation honor sense of significance that a narcissist is addicted to in order to regulate their negative emotions so a religious context provides an easy platform for a narcissist because they could get access to a stage or a pulpit or a mic or some means to exert influence where they can gain all of that admiration and praise or a sense of superiority where they can present themselves as godly or pious individuals or chosen by God or specially anointed, all of this to gain validation and attention from people. And like I mentioned all of these things are a drug that a narcissist is addicted to and it is what actually feeds them, more than actually being in a relationship with God but to the pure all things are pure so there are many people in church and religious contexts who are honest good-hearted who believe the best about others and so they can be gullible to the narcissists around them who have disguised themselves as pious people for the sake of getting narcissistic supply and this is truly an evil because a narcissist pursuit of narcissistic supply comes at the cost of destroying and stepping on other people without any regard for their welfare.

The second reason why narcissists love religion is because of the alert of control and power. Religion offers a structure of beliefs and practices that can be manipulated by narcissists to exert control over others. For example a narcissist may twist and distort doctrines and scriptures to justify their authority and demand obedience from followers they could create God in their own image, which a lot of them do rather than follow and conform themselves to the God of the Bible. This kind of control feeds into the narcissist need for domination and power and it can get to a dangerous point where religious narcissist replaces God with themselves where they subtly over time position themselves as intermediaries between individuals and God. A narcissist might manipulate followers into believing that they alone possess the ability to interpret God's will or to speak on his behalf a narcissist does this whether consciously or unconsciously to elevate themselves to a divine status in the eyes of their followers and they may never say that they are doing this outright because no person would ever accept a human saying that you have to worship them like a god but a narcissist will certainly have structures and systems in place to make this a reality. And a follower or member of that religious context might not even realize what is happening until one day they notice that this narcissist has taken on an increasingly central role in their life and is dictating their decisions and their behaviors as if they were the ultimate authority. The sixth reason why narcissists love religion is because of the lack of accountability. Some denominations or churches or contacts might have more accountability than others but narcissist tend to gravitate towards those religious contexts that don't have much or have very little. It's like Jesus saying to the Pharisees they're like these whitewashed tombs; they look beautiful and nice on the outside but inside they're full of dead man's bones. The attraction to religion allows a narcissist to spiritually bypass themselves where they can use all kinds of spiritual language like it's all washed by the blood or things like that to avoid dealing with deeper unresolved trauma within themselves and getting healed from it because there is power in Christ for healing but you have to do the work.
10:26 - #8 - Entitled and Exploit People in those Contexts
The eighth reason why narcissists love religion is is because it's easy for them to be entitled and to exploit people in these contexts in religious settings. Narcissists may feel entitled to special treatment or privileges due to their perceived spiritual status they might exploit others trust and vulnerability for their own personal gain and control. Narcissists may expect people to serve them, like a slave, free of charge. For instance, because they believe that they have a God-like status or they might expect people to hand their wealth over to them or neglect their own families in order to put the narcissist first all in the name of God.

And they can create this facade by practicing all the religious rituals and portray themselves in a certain way in front of people like this upstanding citizen, but in reality they could be practicing all kinds of dark deeds in private without people knowing hiding their true intentions all with this mask of piety and so that can serve very well for many narcissists and to enable them to continue their dark practices in secret while people are believing that they are this Godly pious person and that is actually a very hypocritical way to live and Jesus actually condemned these kinds of practices because that is what the religious leaders were doing in Biblical times but many narcissists gravitate towards religious settings in order to be able to continue living out this hypocritical lifestyle.
So understanding why narcissists are drawn to religion is really important in order to recognize and address the manipulation that can happen in churches and ministries while many churches and ministries promote cultivating Christ-like qualities. Sadly those same places attract narcissist to them because of opportunities it presents for control and admiration and validation but hopefully by being aware of these dynamics we can hopefully discern between genuine spiritual leaders and those who are using religion to drive their own ego-driven motives. Remember Jesus warned against the false prophets so hopefully by applying these insights we can navigate relationships in churches and ministries and operate with God's wisdom and discernment where we can be as shrewd as a snake and as innocent as a dove.

So, there's this girl, I'll call her Kacy.
Kacy, she's incredibly aggravating and I'm torn between giving in and just being aggravated or defending her to myself and force myself to like her.
She is sweet, and she is smart, but holy shit. It's just everything with her. She's incredibly sensitive, constantly trama dumps, gets herself into preventable awful situations, and is generally just a buzz kill.
She has autism, and she uses that as an excuse for everything. Her autism isn't the issue, almost all of my friends either have autism or ADHD, including myself, but it's like she is using it as an excuse to not learn. She keeps saying how difficult it is to be the oldest in the friend group [she isn't in our friend group] whenever any of us make any jokes about literally anything [we're all 17, she's like a month older than the next person] but then in the same breath will say "I can't help it, my autism gives me the brain of a 12 year old." Like, make up your mind, are you too mature for us or are you just a baby?
Currently, she's engaged to a guy she just met. Her parents are angry, understandably, they've never met him. She keeps saying how she's so scared and how she's gonna get kicked out and how her parents are furious, but when we told her to just break up with him until she's stable enough to support herself, she refuses. She says she can't hide it for however long that is.
Now, me and my friend, who are both Actually hiding stuff from our parents that could get us kicked out or worse, tried explaining to her that this relationship isn't worth her life. I think it's the first one she's ever been in. She refuses to listen. She's engaged but she acts violently repulsed if anything even hinting at being promiscuous mentioned.
She keeps asking us if we think she has a "dark side" or what the craziest thing we think she's done is. And she Never Fails to talk about how horrible her childhood was, completely ruining the mood. Shit about foster care, shit about her parents being strict, just venting 24/7. I get needing to talk to someone, but there's a time and a place.
I try to be tolerable, but I find myself dismissing everything she says. I'm sorry, I really am, but she's exhausting to be around. She can't relate to anything any of us talk about, the most current show she's seen was I Love Lucy, and I think if I ever hear her speak again I'm going to reach up my nasal cavity and yank my brain through the hole.
I'll admit, she's been through a lot, and she's been very sheltered her whole life, but damn girl. There's only so much I can take. I've tried my best to be loving and understanding to as many people as I can, but it's like she drains my ability to do so.

I am a full time carer for my visually disabled partner in Ireland, we are both citizens. We have been evicted from our house and CANNOT find anywhere at all to move to within Ireland. We have decided we want to move to Germany. Everything is in a better situation than Ireland is in and we both feel it is our best option. Not to mention, better for our children to grow up in. However, it seems there are no support systems in place for me to continue caring for my partner in Germany, is this true? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Basically title, where do you guys get tennis shoes from? For context, I just recently started playing tennis a couple times a week with my SO, we’re not great but I don’t think we’re terrible lol.
Right now, I just wear my basic all around sneakers (Allbird runners), and I’ve seen on here that you should probably get tennis shoes. I went to buy some from tennis warehouse that were on clearance, kswiss ultrashot team, but I guess they sold out right before I ordered them so it got cancelled.
Mainly I’m wondering where the best place to order from is, whether from TW or direct from manufacturers, as I’m not looking for anything great just cheap and better than my sneakers. I also would be open to suggestions, I went to my local play it again sports and dicks and neither had any tennis shoes to try out in person. Thanks!
