2024.06.08 02:39 97vyy Networking - This is the way

I think this is common knowledge now, but there's a disaster of information on how to do it on LinkedIn. I see too much cold calling recommendations or your heartwarming message to the hiring manager or recruiter.
There are only two ways I have heard that seem to be effective ways to network on LinkedIn.
  1. Use people you know to make introductions and provide direct employee referrals, normally done through an intranet employee site.
  2. Search for something you want to be closer to like a role, open position, whatever. Search multiple ways - different wording, abbreviations, use quotes, don't use quotes, also LinkedIn supports booleen searching. Learn what that is and use it to find someone who is connected to one of your connections. I think this is the only good time to cold message someone. Your introduction should quickly include a reference to the fact that you know the same person. See if they worked together, if not maybe you just say brief intro then "I see you know Mike Smith. I know Mike from wherever. Then share a quick anecdote that you hopefully have between you and Mike." Now you should have broken the ice enough to more fully lay out your intentions, I'm looking to learn about or I'm curious about taking a role with company or in position x. Don't ask for employee referrals or introductions in the first message. Check their temp when and if they respond. Let things move with purpose but not desperation.
This went long, but I have just today received 3 employee referrals to positions I want and connected with an SVP who randomly knows an old mentor of mine and he has agreed to listen to my story and see how he can help. He ended the message by telling me about a job posting that sounded like what I wanted. Lately I feel like I've finally figured out what networking is meant to be on LinkedIn.

2024.06.06 09:18 VolarRecords Thoughts on Ross Coulthart's speech posted today at the Scientific Coalition for UFOs in Huntsville, AL following his talk at Contact in the Desert this past weekend and some major takeaways the more I get through this

Like a few of us here, I watched Ross Coulthart's new Reality Check live, as I've been doing since its inception.
I do want to make note here that I like data and numbers. Reality Check doesn't always do so well right away, but we're eleven hours in, and this video is at 100K views. I also watched the numbers for the The Good Trouble Show with Matt Ford increase pretty rapidly in the past couple of months. People are very focused on this topic.
I thought it might be best to start with end of the presentation.
Ross ends by saying that he's involved with the Australian Non-Human Intelligence Research Institute, the first organization of its kind in the Australasian region.
https://nhir.org/home
The Institute is being funded by the generous support of neuroscientist and businessman, Dr. Anton Uvarov.
https://nhir.org/about/people
According to Ross:
"We plan to fund collaborative scientific research projects into Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena. And we are very interested in funding generously collaborations with scientists worldwide.
We're already working with Dr. Beatriz Villaroel who's already working who is also presenting at the conference (and who is also part of SOL and presented at their conference) to assist her superb research into astronomical transients.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njNP8ypUbDM&t=6s
Another planned project is the construction of absolutely state-of-the-art observation stations that will be placed in UAP hotspots. These will be mobile, using absolutely best-case, top-of-the-line technology. We hope they will collect extensive data on UAP."
Today's video was his presentation at the SCU, the Scientific Coalition for UFOs, in Huntsville, AL, following this speech at Contact in the Desert this past week. He was the keynote speaker for the SCU Conference. These events were held back-to-back, and at both, Coulthart made very clear that if anything were to happen to him, he had journalists around the world ready to publish everything he has. If anyone here still wants to call him a grifter, GFY. As detailed in his speech here, he's won many accolades for his journalism over the years in Australia reporting for 60 Minutes and 7 News, the largest broadcast network in the country.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuCPbavls0U&t=4956s
I remember when this was announced, as Huntsville is a very interesting choice for this conference. Huntsville is one of the biggest hubs in the US for aerospace companies, namely Boeing, something the city prides itself on, and it also has massive contracts with NASA.
https://www.madeinalabama.com/2023/06/boeings-alabama-operation-writes-new-chapters-in-innovation/
https://whnt.com/news/huntsville/2-ufos-spotted-in-washington-park-lockheed-martin-has-an-explanation/
My new friend u/lastofthefinest was among those on here to point out that both Amy Eskridge and Dr. Ning Li, who were working on anti-gravity tech and UAP research in Huntsville, both turned up dead. These names and their stories are very familiar on this sub, and I think holding this conference in Huntsville with Coulthart as the keynote speaker was a definite shot to the bow.

I know there's a lot more to dig into regarding Huntsville and its history of UAP research and defense contractors, but let's stop there for now.
Ross's comments that stuck out to me as I was listening earlier. I'm sure I missed plenty.
Ross brought up the Echelon Agreement, a surveillance system between the US and UK updated in 1998 when that technology was taking off. Here's the Wikipedia page which could be changed at any time, the history goes back further:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ECHELON
Here's a link to the European Parliament's statement on the program:
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.europarl.europa.eu/EPRS/EPRS_STUDY_538877_AffaireEchelon-EN.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwiooa2Wo8aGAxVjLkQIHeKGCkEQFnoECA4QAQ&usg=AOvVaw1js5LhwzYi12M6OUyqZ3cW
Summary
During the second half of the 1990s press and media reports revealed the existence of the Echelon network. This system for intercepting private and economic communications was developed and managed by the states that had signed the UKUSA and was characterised by its powers and the range of communications targeted: surveillance was directed against not only military organisations and installations but also governments, international organisations and companies throughout the world.
This study recounts the uncovering of the network, notably through the STOA investigations, questions by MEPs, debates in plenary, the setting up of a temporary committee and the final position adopted by the European Parliament. It also takes account of statements by researchers and journalists on the technical aspects and legal implications of the Echelon network. Finally, it considers the views of the political groups in the European Parliament and of the Commission and Council.
Fifteen years after the events, The Echelon Affair draws on the European Parliament’s archives to describe and analyse a worldwide scandal which had an impact on the history of Parliament and which today is echoed in the revelations of Edward Snowden and Julian Assange and in other cases of spying on a grand scale.
Something else Ross brought up is that the GAO, the US Government Accountability Office, has stated that the Pentagon has failed its audit starting in 1981. That's the year President Ronald Reagon and VP George H. W. Bush took office. Reagan was narrowly elected after an agreement for Iran to return US hostages after he took office. Trump is trying to do the same right now with Russia with Wall Street Journal journalist. Here's a Chris Hayes piece tonight about that. It's literally the same fucking move.
https://twitter.com/allinwithchris/status/1798512620334391737
Bush has a history of both UFO/UAP recovery and oil wars. I'll piece this together later, but his name keeps coming up thanks to u/36_39_42 and u/harry_is-white_hot delving into the Magenta '33 crash recovery. His family's bank funded the Nazis. That's for later. But I think I think Ross mentioned 1981 on purpose.
Here's a statement on Bernie Sanders's website just weeks after Grusch's interview with Ross (and I just saw earlier that Grusch's first closed-door interview with Congress was June 12, 2021, which led to AARO, which means the Pentagon's really caught in another trap here):
https://www.sanders.senate.gov/press-releases/news-sanders-grassley-and-colleagues-make-bipartisan-push-to-audit-the-pentagon-and-end-wasteful-spending/

NEWS: Sanders, Grassley and Colleagues Make Bipartisan Push to Audit the Pentagon and End Wasteful Spending

Last year, the DOD failed its fifth audit and was unable to account for over half of its assets, which are in excess of $3.1 trillion, or roughly 78 percent of the entire federal government.

WASHINGTON, June 21 – As the recent debt ceiling deal increased military spending to $886 billion for fiscal year 2024, Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), along with Sens. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), Mike Lee (R-Utah), Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Mike Braun (R-Ind.), Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), Rand Paul (R-Ky.), Ed Markey (D-Mass.), and Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.), today introduced legislation that would require the Department of Defense (DOD) to finally pass a full, independent audit in fiscal year 2024. If enacted, the Audit the Pentagon Act of 2023 would require any DOD component that fails to complete a clean audit opinion to return 1 percent of its budget to the Treasury for deficit reduction.
Ross talked about how the Air Force was pushing an anti-gravity program way back in 1956. Here's the Wiki:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_gravity_control_propulsion_research

United States gravity control propulsion research

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
American interest in "gravity control propulsion research" intensified during the early 1950s. Literature from that period used the terms anti-gravity, anti-gravitation, baricentric, counterbary, electrogravitics (eGrav), G-projects, gravitics, gravity control, and gravity propulsion.\1])\2]) Their publicized goals were to discover and develop technologies and theories for the manipulation of gravity or gravity-like fields for propulsion.\3]) Although general relativity theory appeared to prohibit anti-gravity propulsion, several programs were funded to develop it through gravitation research from 1955 to 1974. The names of many contributors to general relativity and those of the golden age of general relativity have appeared among documents about the institutions that had served as the theoretical research components of those programs.\4])\5])\6]) Since its emergence in the 1950s, the existence of the related gravity control propulsion research has not been a subject of controversy for aerospace writers, critics, and conspiracy theory advocates alike, but their rationale, effectiveness, and longevity have been the objects of contested views.United States gravity control propulsion research.

Evidence of existence

Mainstream newspapers, popular magazines, technical journals, and declassified papers reported the existence of the gravity control propulsion research. For example, the title of the March 1956 Aero Digest article about the intensified interest was "Anti-gravity Booming." A. V. Cleaver made the following statement about the programs in his article:
What are the facts, insofar as they are publicly known, or (as at this date) knowable? Well, they seem to amount to this: The Americans have decided to look into the old science-fictional dream of gravity control, or "anti-gravity," to investigate, both theoretically and (if possible) practically the fundamental nature of gravitational fields and their relationship to electromagnetic and other phenomena – and someone (unknown to the present writer) has apparently decided to call all this study by the high-sounding name of "electro-gravitics." Unknown, too – at least unannounced – is the name of agency or individual who decided to encourage, stimulate, or sponsor this effort, also in just what way it is being done. However, that the effort is in progress there can be little doubt, and, of course, it is entirely to be welcomed.\7])
The gravitics programs had not been evinced by any technological artifacts, such as the Project Pluto Tory IIA, the world's first nuclear ramjet. Commemorative monuments by the Gravity Research Foundation have been the artifacts attesting to the early commitments to finding materials and methods to manipulate gravity. The endeavor had the resources and publicity of an initiative, but writers from that period did not describe them with that term. Gladych stated:
At least 14 United States universities and other research centers are hard at work cracking the gravity barrier. And backing the basic research with multi-million dollar secret projects is our aircraft industry.\8])
The writings about the gravity control propulsion research effort had disclosed the "players" and resources while prudently withholding both the specific features of the research and the identity of its coordinating body. Publicized and telecasted conspiracy theory anecdotes have suggested much higher levels of success to the G-projects than mainstream science.
Ross then says that because of the Echelon project and what he knows about the surveillance of phones, he wrote over 160 hand-written letters to, if I remember correctly, former aerospace employees and university professors from the time who'd gone quiet.
He references the 1953 CIA Robertson Panel's push the debunk the UFO subject entirely.
He talks about Wilbert Smith, head of Project Magnet. Here's the Wiki:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Magnet_(UFO))

Project Magnet (UFO)

Project Magnet was an unidentified flying object (UFO) study programme established by Transport Canada in December 1950 under the direction of Wilbert Brockhouse Smith, senior radio engineer for Transport Canada's Broadcast and Measurements Section. It was formally active until mid-1954 and informally active (without government funding) until Smith's death in 1962. Smith eventually concluded that UFOs were probably extraterrestrial in origin and likely operated by manipulation of magnetism.
History
Smith made a request to use the facilities of the Department of Transport to study UFOs. The project was formally approved on December 2, 1950, with the intention to collect data about UFOs and apply any recovered data to practical engineering and technology. The ultimate goal of the project was to apply any findings on the subject of geomagnetism to the possibility of exploiting Earth's magnetic field as a source of propulsion for vehicles. Smith and his colleagues in government believed that UFOs, if real, might hold the key to this new source of power. A small-scale undertaking, the project used DOT facilities, with some assistance from personnel at the Defence Research Board (DRB) and the National Research Council). In June 1952 Smith issued a preliminary report arguing that UFOs likely came from intelligent, extraterrestrial sources and almost certainly manipulated magnetism for flight. A 1953 report reiterated these conclusions. Also in April 1952 the Canadian government established Project Second Storey, a parallel UFO research project, with Smith also involved. It consisted of a group of scientists and military officers who met periodically to consider the UFO question and to recommend government action. Smith then tracked down physicist Robert Sarbacher in 1950.
https://science.howstuffworks.com/space/aliens-ufos/ufo-government10.htm

Robert Sarbacher Confirms UFO Crash

A remarkable interview occurred in Washington, D.C., on September 15, 1950, but the content did not leak out until the early 1980s, when Canadian ufologist Arthur Bray found a memo by one of the participants, radio engineer Wilbert B. Smith of Canada's Department of Transport. The memo described a conversation with physicist Robert I. Sarbacher, a consultant with the U.S. Department of Defense Research and Development Board (RDB), at one of the regular meetings Sarbacher and other government scientists conducted with their Canadian counterparts.
Asked about the crash rumors, Sarbacher said they were "substantially correct." He said UFOs "exist. . . . We have not been able to duplicate their performance. . . . All we know is, we didn't make them, and it's pretty certain they didn't originate on the Earth." The issue was so sensitive that "it is classified two points higher even than the H-bomb. In fact it is the most highly classified subject in the U.S. government at the present time." Sarbacher refused to say more.
Smith, who died in 1961, mounted a small, short-lived UFO investigation, Project Magnet, for his government. Through official channels he tried unsuccessfully to learn more than Sarbacher's cryptic remarks had revealed. After the memo surfaced, ufologists found a listing for Sarbacher in Who's Who in America, citing his impressive scientific, business, and educational credentials.
When interviewed, Sarbacher said he had not personally participated in the UFO project, though he knew those who had, including RDB head Vannevar Bush, John von Neumann, and J. Robert Oppenheimer -- three of America's top scientists in the 1940s and 1950s. He had read documents related to the project and on occasion had been invited to participate in Air Force briefings.
"There were reports that instruments or people operating these machines were also of very light weight, sufficient to withstand the tremendous deceleration and acceleration associated with their machinery," Sarbacher told an inquirer in 1983. "I remember in talking with some of the people at the office that I got the impression these 'aliens' were constructed like certain insects we have observed on Earth, wherein because of the low mass the inertial forces involved in operating of these instruments would be quite low. I still do not know why the high order of classification has been given and why the denial of the existence of these devices." Sarbacher could not recall where the crashes had taken place, but he did remember hearing of "extremely light and very tough" materials recovered from them.
Sarbacher's story never varied, and he resisted the temptation to elaborate or speculate. All who interviewed him were impressed. Still, his story could not be verified, since the persons he named were all dead. Sarbacher himself died in the summer of 1986.
Processing img ui54nqov9w4d1...

And Smith said that Sarbacher outed Vannevar Bush, the first scientific advisor to the President under the Manhattan Project.

There's lots to dig up on this sub about Bush and Oak Ridge Laboratory, which is were Sean Kirkpatrick now works.

https://www.reddit.com/UFOs/comments/1atdypo/the_leaked_mj12_documents_which_stated_the_names/
Ross says that he was given the names of key Canadian scientists to look into who have been working with US scientists.
He brings up how physicist Thomas Townsend Brown, who I posted about recently, and which I did not know, was the first head of NICAP, and wanted to go public about UFOs.
https://www.reddit.com/UFOs/comments/1csdviz/100_years_ago_an_american_inventor_named_thomas/
At the time, people stopped reporting UFOs to the Air Force out of frustration because they weren't taking them seriously, just like today with AARO.
Roscoe H. Hillenkoetter, the first director of the CIA, tried blowing the whistle on UFOs a year after he left office. This video's pretty famous around here now.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-MbGYAv7Cg
Roscoe H. Hillenkoetter was the third Director of Central Intelligence (DCI), and first Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (May 1947 – October 1950). After retiring from the CIA in 1950, Hillenkoetter warned J. Edgar Hoover of Agency’s “corruption”: https://www.muckrock.com/news/archives/2018/aug/29/Hillenkoetter-hoove
After his CIA post, he resumed active duty and was eventually promoted to Vice Admiral in 1956. His final post was Inspector General of the Navy, finally retiring on May, 01 1957, after which he served on the Board of Governors for the civilian National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena from 1957 until 1962.
Says there was a crashed disc with windows found in Afghanistan post-9/11 that the Russians beat the US to.
He then talks about an Australian AF photographer whisked away in secret, and unbeknownst by the Australian AF, by the British AF to fully photograph a crashed UFO in a jungle, who was then forced to develop his film in front of the British AF folks, after which the film was confiscated. This means there's no Chain of Command and plausible deniability. Who would this photographer have reported to? Who would have believed him?
During the rebuilding of Kuwait following the American invasion of Iraq, an Australian office was set up that was bugged by the UK's MI6 so that the UK could win commercial contracts to reverse-engineer crash-recoveries over the Australians. Now making more sense that the "UFO too big to move" had the US Embassy built over it in 2006/2007.
Talks of a crash-retrieval in Europe and a secret Cold War between US, Russia, and China over downed craft that is still ongoing
My biggest takeaway, the fact that we're still shooting them down, like over Alaska in early 2023, is a moral stain on First Contact
After all the letters he wrote, he started getting responses flooding in. He emphasizes his need to protect sources. But one source did allow him to use his name, as he was dying of cancer: Nat Kobitz.
Kobitz was the Chief R&D officer, Research and Development, for the US Navy:
https://www.linkedin.com/in/nat-kobitz-38874478/
https://memorials.sollevinson.com/nat-kobitz/4600662/obit.php?&printable=true
Here's Nat Kobitz in a 1993 Navy memo included on the Defense Technical Information Center website:
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://apps.dtic.mil/sti/tpdf/ADA306545.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwjD4IT2scaGAxV_HEQIHYHxPMYQFnoECBEQAQ&usg=AOvVaw1b5UHIG0q-7bDDOtRX_8B6
According to Ross, Kobitz was read into the crash-retrieval program following multiple NHI crashes to help reverse-engineer them. At one point, he was flown to Wright-Patterson and taken underground to a crashed craft bulkhead, and he told Ross that the skin and bulkhead were crafted in a way that defied human science. That they were composites, bonded at an atomic level, and suspected it was NHI tech. He felt that US citizens had a right to know, and that's why he was coming forward in his last days.
Those letters Ross was getting were from people who knew Kobitz and had encouraged him to get in touch with Ross about The Program.
Ross says that people had been threatened they'd be killed if they ever talked about it, and some possibly have been. Lines up with Ross's statements about his information coming forward if anything happens and Lue Elizondo's recent tweet about how he has no intention of harming himself.
https://www.reddit.com/UFOs/comments/1ct05y0/lue_elizondos_statement_from_the_good_trouble_show/
Ross ends by saying that he's involved with the Australian Non-Human Intelligence Research Institute, the first organization of its kind in the Australasian region.
https://nhir.org/home
The Institute is being funded by the generous support of neuroscientist and businessman, Dr. Anton Uvarov.
https://nhir.org/about/people
According to Ross:
"We plan to fund collaborative scientific research projects into Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena. And we are very interested in funding generously collaborations with scientists worldwide.
We're already working with Dr. Beatriz Villaroel who's already working who is also presenting at the conference (and who is also part of SOL and presented at their conference) to assist her superb research into astronomical transients.
Another planned project is the construction of absolutely state-of-the-art observation stations that will be placed in UAP hotspots. These will be mobile, using absolutely best-case, top-of-the-line technology. We hope they will collect extensive data on UAP."

2024.06.05 22:57 Few-Peanut-6194 Summary of my career with CEC

I worked as a gameroom attendant and assistant tech for about four months. Unfortunately, one of my assistant managers ended up stalking me and bullying me online behind my back. She filmed me without permission on one occasion, and shared it to a server on Discord where hundreds of people noticed it. I generally liked the time I had at CEC, and had dreams of becoming a technical manager and taking the spot that opened up at my store in mid-January. I had mostly great and friendly coworkers such as Mike, my general manager who strongly supported my tech aspirations, and Vickey, the senior assistant manager who has been at the store for a long time, which guests always come back to see her. There were just a few coworkers in particular who did not enjoy working with me. I happen to be autistic and have a tendency to talk a lot, which did bother some people. I did get to learn a lot of new things from other stores’ technical managers and the district technical manager, regarding game preventative maintenance, and repair. My future technical manager hopes were taken away in mid February, as (most likely) that particular assistant manager called Human Resources about some incident the previous day that I suspect might’ve not happened at all. February 16, I clock in to do Kid Check for the night, and I was called to the back to speak to the HR manager over the phone, who questioned me about my YouTube channel and if there were any inappropriate videos uploaded to it (which there weren’t but I had been dealing with online slander for a week at that point). I talked for a while with the HR manager, and at the end decided to let me go. My General Manager was beside me and was really bummed that I couldn’t stay anymore. Later on, I learned about the suspicious behavior of that manager, and obtained the video she had filmed me in for evidence. She had also posted a message to people in that Discord server about the call, as she had listened to that entire thing, and I really don’t think it is appropriate of her to share publicly an important call I had with HR. What was also suspicious was that same manager added me on LinkedIn the day before my termination from the company, which she was actively working at the time it happened. To this day, that assistant manager, (I won’t be mentioning her name at this time) still works at the store (S443) and hasn’t gotten any consequences for her actions towards me. I have not gotten the chance to notify the HR manager about the things that have come to my attention after the termination. CEC was a great job for me and I was extremely hopeful to eventually be promoted to technical manager. My general manager even told me on my last day he was going to send me to a workshop in March. Losing that job left me extremely traumatized. Termination is a terrible thing to go through as a person.

Web site: The Ridge RTC
History and Background Information
The Ridge is a behavior modification that opened in 2023. It is a rebranding of Shortridge Academy, a recently closed Therapeutic Boarding School and operates using former Shortridge Academy facilities. t is marketed as a Residential Treatment Center with two locations: Milton, NH and South Chine, ME. A major difference between Shortridge Academy and The Ridge is that the educational component has been scaled back. Many employees of Shortridge Academy are now employed at The Ridge.
The Ridge does not appear to offer attendees an opportunity to attend school, to get tutoring or to try to keep up with schoolwork. The longer a student is in a facility like this, the further he or she will fall behind--to the point of having to redo a year of school.
From the web site:
The Ridge RTC offers a unique mental health residential program designed to provide increased support, structure, and therapy for adolescents and teens. Our program prioritizes therapeutic support and provides a nurturing and supportive environment for those who require more intensive care than they would receive at home or school.
The Ridge does not specialize in the treatment of a limited set of mental health conditions (such as alcohol / substance abuse plus co-occurring conditions, autism, trauma, etc.) but is willing to accept teens and young adults with a wide range of problems. This means that the mental health professionals must treat a wide range of issues, which limits the amount of expertise one can develop.
This program invites shills to post positive reviews. Andrew Lapin, a marketing expert, educational consultant and therapist out of Milford MA, posted a review on Google. So did Carsyn Knebel, office manager of Altior Healthcare, also on Google.
It appears that The Ridge provides attendees with very limited educational opportunities. This is concerning because it is easy for a student who is in such a program (especially if the stay is a month or longer) to fall hopelessly behind in one's schooling and have to repeat a year.
Students are housed three to a room in both facilities.
Medical ethics has made it clear that treatment should occur in the least restrictive setting. This is especially important for people struggling with mental health difficulties, because it's important to put into practice what you are learning in therapy. Slips, screw-ups, mess-ups are part of learning. Many people who do not need to be in a Residential Treatment Center, who would do better in either a Partial Hospitalization or Intensive Outpatient Therapy settings, find Residential Treatment to be infantilizing.
Residential Treatment is appropriate in a few situations:
There's good research demonstrating that, in nearly all situations, residential treatment should last for no longer than three months, for there is no additional benefit for a longer stay.
The Ridge provides a comprehensive assessment for teens, which includes psychological testing. The Ridge markets this program for teens that are experiencing rather common teen problems, such as: lack of interest, decreased energy levels, lying / making excuses (what teen hasn't done that???), change in sleep pattern and/or appetite, persistent worries, mood change etc. Some of these are good reasons for a family to consult mental health professionals; others might fall within the realm of teenage behavior. Leaving home and being sent to an RTC in a remote area, where the teen knows not a soul there, is extremely stressful, even under the best of circumstances. For psychological testing to be valid, the examinee must be comfortable and relaxed--which is not what a teen who has just been sent to The Ridge will feel. It's best for worried parents to seek out mental health care, including family therapy, locally and not to ship their teen off to a place like this
Both programs are in isolated areas of their respective states, making escape difficult. The Ridge Lakehouse is in an isolated area, with few houses, approximately 20 miles from Augusta, ME (the state capital) and appears to be the more restrictive program.
This program is owned and operated by Altior Healthcare It is not surprising Ironwood, Maine, which is now closed, has been referring families to this program. Altior Healthcare is owned by the private equity firm Pine Tree Equity Partners. Altior Healthcare units are all card carrying members of the Troubled Teen Industry: Shortridge Academy (Milton, NH), Paradign Residential Treatment Centers (CA, TX) and Innercept Residential Treatment Center (Coeur d'Alene, ID).
The Ridge accepts Carelon, Anthem BlueCrossBlueShield, Magellan and Optum Behavioral Health insurance plans

She has worked at Red Mountain Colorado from March 2020 to August, 2023. She received her Master's Degree in Counselling from Naropa University in 2005. Naropa University is considered a questionable school with an extremely high acceptance rate of 100%.
Miranda LeBlanc no longer works at The Ridge as their Lead Educational Coordinator (despite remaining on their web site). She worked there for 8 months. This is the first time she has worked in the Troubled Teen Industry. She is now working at a non-profit in the Greater Boston Area that bears no relationship to the Troubled Teen Industry
Crissy Webster, MA, LMCHC, NCC is the owner of Crissy Webster Counselling Services, provides clinical supervision. She is a consultant, not an employee of The Ridge.
Bre Walker, MA, LCMHC, ATR-BC is the Clinical Program Director of The Ridge. She joined The Ridge in August, 2023 as a therapist; was promoted to Clinical Service Director in February, 2024. This is not the first time she has worked here--between April 2021 and August, 2023, she was a therapist at the allegedly abusive, now closed Shortridge Academy Her degrees are from Lesley University, a school known for it's very high acceptance rate, poor performance on state licensure exams and for its extreme liberal bias.

2024.06.04 00:06 popento18 Guide to prepare for VRE

I feel like there are too many people coming on here and asking the same questions about VRE without really understanding what the program is about, and how to apply.
TD:LR - VRE is a shitload of work, if you want to succeed, you will have to put in a lot of research even before applying. If that’s too much work for you, then stop now before wasting everyone’s time.
VRE is an incredible program that can be life changing if you have a service rating. That being said, the most important thing to understand is this:
VRE is about GETTING YOU BACK TO WORK.
The program is called Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E). This is not about what you always wanted to be growing up. This is about getting you up-skilled and back into the workforce as a contributor to society and the tax base.
Read that again.
The program is about getting you back to work. If you always wanted to be an Orca trainer and swim with the dolphins at Seaworld, but you live in Paducah KY, this is not gonna work out. If you have a 6th grade reading level, you are not about to go to law school and argue in front of the Supreme Court. This is about figuring out what a good path is for you to gain the skills and knowledge to get a job in the modern economy.
So, now that we have ripped the band aid off, let’s start with an exercise in career triangulation.
There are 3 parts of this that you need to research, analyze, and critique to get started.
Understand Yourself
  1. YOU - Who are you? What do you like? What do you dislike? What is personality like? What are you good at? What do you struggle with? What are your values AND where did you learn those values? How does your rating block you from gainful employment?
This is the most important part. You need to go through and really think about yourself. Your personality, how you carry yourself, what is important to you, what are your capabilities, and how do you carry that around. Before really learning this about myself, I held any number of very “cool” and lucrative jobs. But guess what, sooner or later I was burned out and stuck in a cycle of hopping from one to the next. By learning more about myself and really analyzing how my personality and mental attitude affects my career, I was able to figure out which kind of job and organization I wanted to work for.
Now that last part is important. VRE is about getting you back to work. Why are you not working or struggling? This is something that only you can answer. If you can’t go through this exercise and come up with real examples, STOP - VRE is not for you.
Understand the Economic Environment
  1. What kind of job do you think you want to do? Where are these jobs located? What do they pay? What is your compensation floor? Which geographical area are you rooted in? How physically demanding are these jobs? What about mentally? What are the skills & certifications needed for this job? How do you people get into this kind of work?
Now that you know more about yourself, you can start to narrow down what kind of roles would not only get you a paycheck, but you would also do well in. This is the difference between starting a career vs. starting yet another job. It is not some distant goal of “one day with a lot of hard work.” That’s a bunch of bullshit from Hollywood used to advance a story’s plot line without having to spend 13 hours explaining a character’s motivation. You need a solid understanding of what kind of work you are better suited for, what is a realistic expectation of employment income, and whether that is enough for you.
If you are driving around a passenger van because you have eleven kids on top of your mortgage, jobs with lots of unpaid intern time while looking for your big break and a NO GO. First you need is sex education, some condoms, and an appointment for sterilization. If you want to work in the movie business, that means you’re moving to LA. Can’t afford to move to LA? Guess what? You’re not working in the movie business.
Now that last one I had there is kind of important. How does someone get into this kind of work? Elon Musk may just drive up one day and ask you to help fix twitter for a million dollars a day. But until that happens you’re gonna have to make a real plan. How do you do this?
RESEARCH - its a ton of work, now get started
Hopefully by now you have started to realize just how much fucking work this is (remember boys & girls, we haven’t even applied to the VRE program yet). Get in contact with people that do these jobs. Use whatever means you have available (reddit/linkedin/phone book/church/social groups/random person on the street/grandma, etc..) to find people who work in these roles and interview the shit out of them. Every fucking question you can think of. Keep it light, keep it professional, but learn everything about the job, how they got there, and what is going on in the Industry. DO NOT end the conversation until you have gotten a new contact or recommendation.
You need to do a top down assessment of what work is available in the area you intend to live. Then we go back to our first exercise, from the work that is available, which options will work out best for you. If the only job is working at the local Walmart then that’s where you work until you can leave.
Understand the Job
  1. Now that you have an idea of the kind of work you want to do, what skills do you have? What skills does the work require? What skills are you missing? How do you learn them?
This should be the easiest part if you are actually following the guide. You are constantly reaching out to people who work in the field, you are learning everything you can about them, how they got there, and what the organizations are looking for. You are building your knowledge base.
So what if I have extreme anxiety or [pick a reason]...
Nobody cares. Life is not fair. If life was fair, there would be no need for the military and none of us would be reading this. You should have access to the VA (since you have a rating). That means you start therapy and some kind of medication regimen. END OF DISCUSSION (told you it was a lot of work). Therapy and meds take time, you have to find a therapist you can be comfortable with, you have to do the work the therapist assigned you, and it may need the help of medication. We have already covered this in the first section (understanding yourself). If this is much work, THEN QUIT NOW BEFORE WASTING EVERYONE'S TIME.
Whatever you are dealing with, it sucks, but now we need to get a plan together and drive on.
If you want to be a video game designer, guess what, you better be fucking good at Math. Coding is first figuring out what to build, how to get it to work, and then making it work well. Developers need to be seriously good at math because math is how you optimize code. If you can’t optimize code, fucking nobody is going to hire you.
If you want to be a lawyer, guess what, you better be a grammar N@zi. Legal work is people going around arguing about the smallest and tiniest of details, doing a shit load of legal writing back and forth. If you suck at grammar, if you can make it through law school (unlikely), fucking nobody is going to hire you.
You want to be an FBI agent and chase terrorists, guess what, you better be ready to go to law school and pick up another masters in a very technical field. Cause the FBI is about white collar crime. They do have some cool guy jobs, but you need to be in the FBI before you can go after those. Also they get paid pretty shit & you have to do PT tests again.
You want to be an investment banker, guess what, there are certain feeder schools you need to go to and lots of background networks to make and maintain. You also better be ready to work 90 hour weeks for the next 5 years. Even when you hang out with people it is work related. Sounds rough? Too bad, nobody cares, there are legions of qualified people waiting for your spot once you burn out.
By this point, you should have an idea of:
Now we are ready to start the VRE process. VRE will make you go through a lot of this but guess what? Since you did all this work, you will be ready to provide detailed answers, backed up with data, about what you can realistically achieve. You know what you are trying to get into, what the path looks like moving forward.

2024.06.03 04:29 TownComprehensive809 Ultimate Cobrai Kai Season 6 Predictions

Ultimate Cobrai Kai Season 6 Predictions
• Kreese VS Silver This is a MUST!! If this doesn’t happen I’ll be disappointed. Kreese learns Silver bribed his way out of prison and goes on a revenge rampage angered at Silver for framing him to gain control over Cobra Kai & learning Silver paid refs to win. Kreese taught brutal pain and torture but still had the integrity to let his students win or lose themselves, not through rigging. Kreese and Silver engage in a brutal fight that will see Kreese gain the upper hand and brutally beat Silver where combined with his unrevealed illness, dies!!!
• Sam VS Tory Rematch While the two put aside their differences in the finale of season 5, it more so felt like a temporary peace treaty cause they had a common enemy. But they’ve still yet to resolve their overall rivalry as to who’s the better fighter due to Silver rigging Tory’s All Valley championship win over Sam. A rematch fight at Miyagi-Do with no rigging is all but guaranteed to happen.
• Global Setting!! Cobra Kai’s dojo will move and take place at Kim Da-Eun’s home in Korea where Kreese who is a wanted fugitive in the United States, takes refuge and helps train for the world tournament. Part’s of Miyagi Do’s training will be in Okinawa while the Sekai Taikai is rumored to be held in Barcelona, Spain.
• Tory’s mom is revealed!! For the entire series, Tory’s sick bed ridden mother has not been revealed but there has been speculation on who it is and why would they not reveal who it is if it wasn’t Julie Pierce from The Next Karate Kid? I predict that Julie is revealed to be Tory’s mother and inspires Tory to train at Miyagi-Do and learn what Mr. Miyagi taught her. Julie will end up dying at some point in the season.
• Amanda becomes Tory’s new mother figure With Sam and Tory having settled their rivalry and eventually their tournament fight, Amanda outside of Karate continues to help out Tory with her personal life including helping at her place where she’ll meet Julie and promise to look after Tory and have her best interest.
• Mike Barnes joins Miyagi-Do With Cobra Kai still at large preparing for the world tournament, Mike Barnes agrees to become the fourth sensei at Miyagi Do to prepare the students for the tournament in hopes of ending Cobra Kai.
• Kreese quits Cobra Kai!!!! Kreese notices Cobra Kai’s ref rigging habits during training and quits. He threatens to file an appeal for Cobrai Kai’s removal from the world tournament but his old trainer Kim Sun-Yung brutally beats up Kreese, putting him in the hospital.
• Kreese gets replaced again!! Kreese quit and Silver will die, leaving Kim Da-Eun needing a new partner and recruits another old friend of her’s, Master Li, the former leader of China’s ruthless Fighting Dragons studio in the 2010 Karate Kid film.
• Chozen travels to China to recruit!! Chozen will travel to China to seek an old friend of his who turns out to be Mr. Han from the 2010 Karate Kid film. Mr. Han is not seeking fights but after learning about Cobra Kai’s looming threat of global expansion if they win the Sekai Tekai, agrees to have his students enter the tournament. Macchio & Chan are starring in the 2025 Karate Kid film a few months after season 6 so a connection of some type in season 6.
• Miguel & Sam/Robby & Tory Double Date!! A double date mirroring and paying homage to Johnny & Carmen/Daniel & Amanda in season 2 episode 9
• Daniel VS Johnny One Last Time!! This is a must thing to have in the final season!! Daniel VS Johnny Part 3 is almost guaranteed to happen. I’d be disappointed if it didn’t.
• All new Cobra Kai students!! Following season 5’s ending, all of Silver’s students abandon the dojo, leaving Kim to rebuild Cobra Kai with her own students.
• More Hawk/Moon & Demetri/Yasmine Relationship Hawk & Moon plus Demetri & Yasmine have a relationship but nowhere near the development of Miguel & Sam and Robby & Tory. Season 6 needs to see some development there.
• Johnny’s baby will be named after ‘80s rock band Johnny named his dojo Eagle Fang. His girlfriend Carmen may sway him, but there’s gotta be an homage to Guns N’ Roses or Def Leppard in there somewhere.
• Anthony VS Kenny Even with Kenny quitting Silver’s Cobra Kai, him and Anthony’s rivalry is far from resolved with one key element involved in their beef surrounding Lia who both of them have feelings for.
• Kreese aids Miyagi-Do at the Sekai Taikai Kreese shows up at the tournament and Johnny & Daniel put aside their differences at the request of Tory. Giving Kreese a redemption arc by helping take down the monster he created.
• Miyagi-Do will NOT win themselves BUT Miyagi-Do will lose the Sekai Taikai to Cobra Kai through more suspicious cheating but will win through the aid of a major surprise ally as Jackie Chan’s Mr. Han and his students led by Zhenwei Wang’s Cheng & Jaden Smith’s Dre defeat Cobra Kai in the final round. Ending Cobra Kai for good and establishing a connection between Macchio & Chan for the 2025 Karate Kid film.
• Daniel leaves the valley!!! The final scene will be Daniel visiting Miyagi’s grave one last time with Cobra Kai officially gone, allowing Daniel to find peace and leave the valley behind with Samantha going off to college. Daniel will move back to New York/New Jersey where the upcoming 2025 Karate Kid film takes place.
These are my biggest predictions for Season 6. I predict Terry Silver will die, Julie Pierce will be revealed as Tory’s mother and Jackie Chan’s Mr. Han will show up in a cameo through a connection to somebody that I predict is Chozen and will have his students enter and fight at the Sekai Taikai and establish a connection to Daniel. I’ll go to my grave with these bold predictions

2024.06.02 22:20 Saltymija LSAT Trainer.

Hi everyone! I’m posting (first time, hi) to ask about your experience with Mike Kim’s LSAT Trainer. I have a second edition that I bought from a used bookstore for some additional reference while also studying with LSAT Lab. I’m just wondering if anyone has used the newest edition and what your experience with it was. I’m just wondering if buying the new edition is worth it if only a couple changes have been made to the test. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! (:
