2024.05.29 04:18 roadtoMD25 Falsely accused of hitting another vehicle with company car

My manager at my job randomly contacted me a few months ago and asked me if I a remember hitting another vehicle with a the company car. She tried to manipulate me by saying I told her about the situation when it happened, which is completely false. I denied the allegations. She told me that the person that was hit has my information and it’s not coming from her. After doing my own research, I found out a coworker of mine gave my name to the person that was hit. Instead of my manager doing her due diligence, she added my name to the insurance claim. I asked her the provide me with the claim document and she has not yet. What do I do in this case? This allegation is completely not true and there is an insurance report that has my information submitted in a claim that I wasn’t apart of. I remember she told me that nothing would affect me because this a claim against her insurance. Regardless of that I know I wasn’t involved in it and I want my name to be cleared. Also my manager is saying she will send the claim but she has been ignoring my request.
EDIT: The day my manager contacted me about this situation, I reached out to the local police to see if they have a record of the accident and if there was anything linked to me. The police department said they couldn’t find anything.

Minor snag with Medical Records for NYPD
What’s up guys,
I’m reaching out because I’ve encountered an issue with my application process for the NYPD July class. Everything was progressing smoothly until I received an email requesting three years of medical and pharmacy records.
From 2021 to 2024, I haven’t visited a doctor. I only started taking ADHD medication these last few months, which I receive from an online telehealth provider. I’m unsure how to obtain these records, given my limited medical history over the past three years.
Does anyone know the best way to acquire these records? Additionally, how should I explain my situation regarding the limited medical history, specifically that my records only cover the recent months related to the ADHD medication? Will this explanation be acceptable?

2024.05.29 02:58 MuffinCrumblez Story Theory: Arkwright, the Most Wanted, and the Butterfly Effect.

SPOILERS FOR UG1, UG2, MW, Pro-Street, Rivals, Payback, Heat and Unbound
Recently, I'd gone and marathon a whole host of NFS Games, starting with Underground, and making my way up to Unbound. I had finished Payback, and moved forward to Heat when I realized the first set of Contracts from the Black Market was called: The Collector's Gambit. Initially, I thought of it as a simple throwaway line, or a callback to the most recent game at that time: Payback. But after going through Raziel's missions, noting the story beats of Heat, and doing the Tess/Yaz Delivery missions in Unbound, something just told me there seemed to be more going on here. It got me thinking about the other ridiculous story beats in the previous NFS games, and wondered if there were any connections.
It all started when I played Rivals again, and thought: "How on Earth do the Police and Racers get these cars? There isn't a single beater or Crown Vic in sight; the Sirens on that Charger are probably worth more than my apartment". Initially just chalked it as: Need For Speed's America could be like Dubai IRL, where supercars in law fleets are the norm; but couldn't put a piece of the puzzle down: The Racers. Obviously, it could be that the Racers get their cars from a number of shady/black market dealers, but who's giving the market their supply of LFA's and Pagani's? And why do both sides of the conflict have what seem to be military-grade weaponry on what should be, civilian vehicles at most?
I decided to move on to Payback, where there were three major story beats that caught my eye: Kobashi, Arkwright, and the NUMEROUS callbacks to pervious titles. The Curator name drops the Blacklist, the Run, and other NFS events, before selling Tyler on the Outlaw's Rush. We also know that the House had hired Cross to interrogate/torture Gallo during the House's initial takeover, which led to Silver Six, but Cross backed out. Even little nods, though unconfirmed, names such as Bull and Cooper are name dropped. Palmont City was also name dropped during the Speedcross DLC's, as it was the place where Speedcross got it's legitimacy in this universe, according to Rav. Aki Kimura also makes a full-fledged reappearance from ProStreet as DK in Noise Bomb. This game makes it clear that the Ghost games universe and the BlackBox universe's are within the same canon. Okay, so what now?
One MAJOR story beat that is often overlooked, is the role that the Brands play in Payback's narrative. To quickly refresh, Payback's parts are not only based on tiered performance, but specific brands give bonuses. One of the brands in-game we know was in-bed with the House: Chidori, as it was revealed by Charlie that Chidori custom parts had been transmitting data from Holtzman's C10, Nova's BC, and Valisev's GT-R. We also know that there were specifications for civilian cars too; alongside other technological developments, such as Skyhammer and the Jammers in Police Chargers being reminiscent of Rivals' and HP Police weaponry. As well, though not stated, due to the name, and the origami logo, it's very clear that Chidori has Japanese ties. We even meet a VIP from Japan in-game, who we pick up for the house: Kobashi. All signs point to the fact that Kobashi was the one outfitting House's cars with custom Chidori parts, and getting data from them. It wouldn't surprise me if Kobashi was the CEO, or at least, a Board of Directors member of Chidori. But why go through all this trouble for data from street racers? And why would data and a wager be so significant, that Fortune Valley's most powerful people: the Collector and the Gambler, would risk it all, just to appease Kobashi? The reward of all this hoop-jumping is joining "Arkwright", is that really it?
Heat's main story revolves around the Speedhunter's showdown, and the High-Speed Task Force stealing cars from the general populace. During "Follow the Law", Ana notes that the F40 we've been tailing had been wrongfully impounded, just like her Z, and other racers' cars. The climax of the mission hits it's peak when we go inside and see a whole operation of the HSTF dismantling the cars they impound, and shipping them off somewhere. At the end of Chapter 5, we even see Frank and Torres have a chat, and judging by Frank's tone, I don't think he was talking about the Police getting to him, but rather, who he would've shipped the cars to. Outside of the mascot cars from past games, the Collector is mentioned in Heat, through the first DLC's name, likely hinting the guy is still around. Because it's not like the House dissolved fully after Payback, the Collector still managed to irk out of Lina's mess; and likely has contacts like Raziel provide the tech needed to do his contracts. We never really grasp the full scope of the Collectors influence, so for all we know, he's the League member that contracts you and gives you the DB11 to find the people responsible for taking the DB5; he does like his cars after all.
Unbounds main story beat revolves around Alec somehow restoring the Lakeshore racing scene, after allegedly 2 years after Yaz stole our car and the LSPD stepped their presence up against street racing. But, when we find the LSPD, they aren't in the greatest of shapes either. Mayor Stevenson's foundation of her campaign is to stop street racing, and provide MORE funding to the LSPD. A detail I noticed about the LSPD was that, they don't have any variation of the Corvette as the "Ace"/Heat 5 car(s). Instead, LSPD's choice of Heat 5/Ace car is the Raptor, a more utilitarian choice, compared to other PD's in the NFS universe. And speaking of more utilitarian, it can be noted that Unbound is the first game in the series that actively TELLS you how to beat the Police. Chargers have this weakness, Camaro's have this weakness, CORVETTES SUCK AT GOING OFFROAD. Note that last part, as Payback and Heat's Corvettes didn't have much issue going off-road; likely signifying whoever was providing technology to LSPD was years behind other PD's. Sure, you could chalk it up to game mechanics, but I'd like to think that LSDP's weaknesses in their cars, and the lack of Rhino's in their fleet, show that the LSPD is eons away from the rest of the Need for Speed police forces. It should be also noted that Alex was a literal who nobody, until the story mentions that someone was sponsoring him and the Lakeshore Grand, but we never meet or hear from this benefactor. Plus, why would someone want to fund something as ridiculous as the Grand, while electoral campaigns to ban the sport of racing are at an all time high?
So, how does all of this relate to Arkwright, Most Wanted, and the Butterfly effect? I believe, that ever since the BlackBox protag showed up to the scene with the M3 GTR, it revealed the major weaknesses, of not only Rockport PD, but the rest of the countries PD's. If ONE guy can come out of nowhere with a then unconceivable car who put the fear of God into Porsche; and make a mockery of a PD, who at that point, was likely the most outfitted unit in the universe, whose to say it can't happen a second, third, fourth, or even millionth time? Hence, why we see the evolution of the Police in NFS Games, from their fleets, to even their weaponry, along with a noticeable downgrade as a benchmark in the form of the Lakeshore PD. Someone had to fund all of this, and that someone also benefits from street racing, legal or illegal, reigning supreme in the country. How else can we explain ludicrous scenario's such as the Run? That's where, Arkwright, enters stage left.
The legal definition of a Cartel is a group of independent corporations or other entities that join together to fix prices, rig bids, allocate markets, or conduct other similar illegal activities. I'd like to propose that, knowingly or unknowingly, the entire NFS universe is played out so that Arkwright can use the populace to make ill-gotten gains through data collection, with cars as the scapegoat. We know from Payback that Arkwright has their hands all over Chidori. Who's to say Carbon, Nextage, Americana and Outlaw weren't in on this either? At the very minimum, we know they have prominence in manufacturing. We also don't know how long Arkwright have been gathering data on racers. Sure we catch them in Payback, but who's to say they don't have our data in-lore, by events such as the Street Festivals in Pro Street or the legal street leagues/sponsorships all the way back from UG1 & UG2? It would make sense, if Arkwright is tracking us, and developing weapons based on the actions of the MC's we play as in NFS. And with all of the car-jacking Payback, Heat, and Unbound had gotten the MC's into, who's to say they unknowingly played into Arkwright's Mouse Utopia, of re-releasing those cars back into the economy for Arkwright to make more profit of these car-jackings? Tyler and his crew certainly didn't. What if Mayor Stevenson was another part of the Arkwright scheme that would be used to corner and monopolize the market, since they've already got Alec?
And who's to say other racers aren't fighting back, Charlie and Shift Lock have taken the fight to Arkwright, the Broker now also knows of Arkwright. Who's to say that the racers in Redview County were street racing out of rebellion? We only see the story from Zephyr and F-8's eyes in Rivals, meaning we don't even know current events in Redview County, as all they care about was what was in front of them. The VRT, the racer's, the weapons in Redview County, if not fully, I suspect Arkwright had a hand in it, and the racers either rebelled; OR unknowingly took the weapons that would provide their enemy with precious data; which could be used to make even more efficient weapons in the future to combat street racers. Hence, it could be an explanation as to why ex-criminals make up some part of the Vehicle Response Team in the RPD; what better guinea pigs than adrenaline-fueled hardened criminals fighting on the open roads with weapons and cars worth cities, with zero impunity to their actions?
All this leads me to believe that, ever since the BlackBox protag and the legendary M3 burst on to the scene, it created a butterfly effect that boosted the technological advancement of weapons and law-enforcement, which in turn lead to several economies, legal or illegal, being more than ready to meet the demands of what the BlackBox protag and his beloved M3 showed the 99% & the 1% of the bond between man and machine. And in both sides of the law, Arkwright would be ready behind the scenes, encourage and discourage where needed economically and technologically, while profiting off each and every event leading up to the NFS-verse's modern day. Hell, if my theory hold some water, the M3 could've been in Unbound because it was taken from Palm City, and being shipped country wide, with Yaz and the Unbound MC being just a link in the supply chain of Arkwright's shadow economy for profit and further technological advancements.
That's more or less what I've got, and I'd love to hear from any other lore enthusiasts out there with their thoughts. There's been a lot of "more questions than answers" with modern day NFS titles; and I know it's better to turn your brain off, and just enjoy the narrative for what it is; but this kind of theory-crafting is fun for me, and seeing the little coincidences you can find in these rabbit holes is the icing on the cake. TY for reading my ramble, and I'd love to hear your guys' thoughts!
TL;DR: Arkwright has been around before Payback, and controls the NFS Global Economies through Racing; and the world knowingly or unknowingly participates in their experiments and technological developments.

2024.05.29 02:55 Aggressive_Ad8927 The Ouija board is dangerous and addictive, Boycott Hasbro

My son is a missing and presumed deceased person whose life, I believe, was ruined and likely ended due to his playing with a Ouija board as a child. While, I have never played with the ouija board, and other than my son once telling me that he thought he was possessed, I would not necessarily have associated his issues (he currently has been missing since May) were it not for the account from his sister who did play with the board with him. In all likelihood my son is no longer alive either from murder, suicide, drug overdose or exposure.
My daughter relates that while playing with ouija board with my son, he suddenly grimaced in pain, seemed to change personalities, threatened to kill her and began chasing her with a knife. She locked herself in the bathroom while he stabbed at the door. She escaped by spraying him in the face with an aerosol spray. To avoid him she moved out of her mother's house, where my son was staying (their mother and I were divorced, she has since died), although this did not stop my son's attacks on other family members.
He became homeless and ended up doing stints in Bethesda Mental Hospital, Federal Prison in Beaumont, Texas, Washington State Prison and Alameda County California County Jail. He also told my daughter that he believed he was possessed. Another daughter occasionally wired him money, primarily just to make sure he was still alive. When he failed to pick up a wire transfer in May and the two friends that had been in closest communication with him had not heard from him I filed a missing persons report with the police department at his last known location, which was San Francisco. His case # is 230434714.
The ouija board has been associated with at least hundreds of murders (including the Gary Gilmore murders and the school shooting that killed four high school students in Oxford Michigan) and attempted murders, suicides, and mental illness, including cases of mass hysteria including the very recent cases of the hospitalizations of 28 school children in Colombia and 35 in Bolivia.
Please boycott Hasbro, manufacturer and aggressive marketer of the ouija board https://www.boycottowl.com/Hasbro/919

2024.05.29 02:30 UnderstandingSome181 Weird encounter with LEO in my past?

I plan on applying to a department here soon and I was going over my past in my head and remembered one instance around 10 years ago where I got a series of weird calls/text messages.
The story happened around the time I was 18 my friends and I prank called the driver of a BMW who was driving like an absolute ass and had a for sale sign in the window. We used my phone and stupidly did not *67 the number. The exchange went something like “Hi I’m interested in your BMW you have for sale, is it running?” They replied yes and I responded “well you better go catch it!” And then hung up. A few hours later a got a call from someone claiming to be an officer and they don’t completely remember but I believe they stated prank calls were considered harassment and I would have to appear in court eventually and I would be contacted later. The phone called ended and that evening I received a text message from the officer stating nothing more would happen I needed to stop prank calling.
Being 18 and never been “in trouble with the law” this totally scared me and I never looked into more but as time went on I looked back and started to question if that was even a real officer and not just the person trying to get back at me? Do officers ever text a person like that? It seems odd to me. And finally is this something even worth mentioning to a BI since I know they will ask me to list every police incident I was involved with. If it really was real would there be a record of it?

2024.05.29 02:26 Murlock_Holmes Noxus, King of Villains pt 1 Ft. Noxus

I twirl a small twister in the air in front of me. I make it dance, rise, fall, and spin around my head. I’m half-listening to the non-super crime boss who’s come to ask for our help. We’re sitting in the front for our headquarters. It’s a quaint bar on what’s been designated squarely as our part of town. Heroes won’t be caught dead on our side of the city. Or if they’re caught, they might end up dead. Same thing.
“So, what do you say, Noxus?” the large man asks. He was stout with greasy black hair and wore a cheap suit. Not quite a big shot yet, but he had the swagger to get it done. “We got ourselves a deal?”
“Let me make sure I’ve got this straight,” I say as I dismiss the small tornado. His proposal sounds intriguing. We could do so many fun things. “You want us to distract the police twice a week at various times in the middle of the night so your shipments can get moved around to your various storehouses? Is that about right?”
“That’s about the gist of it.”
“And you’ll be paying us handsomely for our time, correct? Distracting an entire police department like that is no light feat.”
“I believe our payments will be very generous, Noxus. And if this works out, we got big plans for this city. We can make an empire, spread to other cities, corrupt other super organizations, and make you the de facto kingpin of the entire global community.”
He looked eager but also remained calm. He was made for these kinds of things. He was cool, calculated, and just excited enough to make me want to help.
“No need for all of that. I’m happy with Grand City as is. Brain!” I yell behind me. “Get this man a contract. You know I hate paperwork.”
Braintrust is beside us in an instant. He has built some muscle since becoming a villain but still looks like the same old nerd he had always been to me. Our strength comes from our powers, not our bodies. “Come with me, Mr. Graziano,” he says as he leads the mobster to the back of the bar.
Another deal in place is more secured funding for the Cohort of Villains. And I’m sure everyone will love getting to cause a ruckus every week.
I turn to look at the bar, and a petite figure catches my eye. I don’t recognize them. They’ve got their hood pulled up and baggy pants and seem to be trying to stay unidentified. I don’t trust that in my place. I make eye contact with the bartender and signal toward the figure. Then, signal toward the seat across from me in my comfy booth. He nods in understanding.
I turn back to look out the window as I await my guest. This part of the city is truly beautiful. We got all the little shops and restaurants. The heroes preferred the skyscrapers and to stay in their old headquarters. Which was completely valid. I wouldn’t have it any other way, to be honest. Skyscrapers don’t impress me as much as the earnest folks who own these shops out here. I know when we approached Thomas about using his place as a front for our headquarters, he was taken aback. Then we showed him what we could do for him, and he happily obliged as long as we kept violence out of his bar—a fair request.
Which brings me back to our guest. If I didn’t recognize them, they could be looking for trouble. I haven’t killed anyone recently. Maybe today, that changes. I’ve only been back for a few months, but I’ve worked hard to get these villains under control. Robbing banks, taking CEOs hostage, smuggling things, burning a superstore down, or just interrupting heroes’ contracts. Victimless crimes, really. If someone is here to stir up trouble, I’ll nip that in the bud very quickly.
Finally, the hooded guest is pushed into the booth across from me. It took three people to get them here. They must not be eager to meet me, but they’re also not eager to use their powers if they have any. I wave them off as the hooded figure looks down.
“Take the hood off,” I order.
“No,” the figure says. A woman’s voice. That narrows it down to half the city.
“I’m not asking. Take the hood down, or I take your head. And I have an agreement to no violence in this bar, so I’m not threatening you lightly.”
“Ugh, Charlotte was right. You are a hard ass.” My ears perk up hearing Charlotte’s name. So she’s a hero, whoever she is. But she doesn’t remove her hood. She does, however, look up at me. I immediately recognize her by her blue hair. Two. Probably the most powerful superhero in the entire League.
“Let’s not get ugly here. I like this place.”
“I have no intention of starting any fights. Especially not with you. We didn’t even know you were back. Of course, we heard the whispers, but we thought they were just rumors. But you’re really here. Are you the mysterious new Cohort leader?”
“I am. Tell your whole League. Any show of excessive force will be met in kind. My people are under strict orders not to kill any of yours unless absolutely necessary.”
“Well, that’s nice to know. Even though they just killed a CEO of a major corporation last week.” She adjusts uncomfortably in her seat. She’s uneasy. Why would she come here if she’s so uncomfortable about it?
“I care not for the lives of citizens. What brings you here, Two?”
She immediately raises her hand up to shush me. “Don’t fucking announce it, you dolt.”
“So you don’t want everyone to know?” I ask. I’m not surprised, but a little caught off guard. She has nothing to fear here. Except for me, of course. “Why the secrecy? Surely, you’re not afraid of anyone in the Cohort.”
“I’m not, but I don’t want to upset the peace either,” she whispers through gritted teeth. “And this place has the best lager in town by far. Like, a fuck ton. I sneak down here sometimes and get a pint or two before fucking off back uptown. The bartender knows me; I’ve been a customer of his since I was in high school.”
I sit back, slightly amused. She’s willing to risk a fight just for some alcohol. “Any other heroes come for the best lager in town? Or maybe they hit Antonio’s for the world-famous stuffed shells? Ooh, or Tres for the best burritos in the entire city? We have all the good food on our side.”
“Charlotte wears a wig and dresses like a homeless person to hit Tres sometimes. The only one I know of brave enough to come over here other than me.”
“I could give you a pass, you know,” I say with a smirk. “Tell everyone you and Charlotte are off-limits unless you instigate.”
“And why in the world would you do that for, Noxus? The goodness of your heart?”
“Because Charlotte deserves a break,” I say coolly. “And I’d hate to make you angry. Possibly the only super in the entire city that could give me a run for my money if I don’t kill you instantly.”
“I could take you, Noxus,” she says with an edge that tells me she’s still uneasy about all of this.
“Maybe time will tell,” I say as I try to ease the tension. Emote’s powers would come in handy right about now. “In the meantime, what do you say? You can come and go as you please. Charlotte may come and go as she pleases. None of your other boardmates, I’m afraid. I don’t like how Pharaoh smells, Thronemaker’s an asshole, and Viper gives me the creeps.”
“No bullshit? One hundred percent immunity from the whole Cohort?”
“One hundred percent. But if you betray my trust, I must insist we test your theory of being able to take me.”
“What do you want in return?” she asks.
“Permission to live in my parent’s old house. They left it to me when they died, and I sold it when I left the city. It’s up for sale again. I want to buy it and live in it.”
“Let me guess, it’s in our territory?”
“If it were in mine, I wouldn’t need the permission.”
“I’ll talk to the Board.”
“Thank you. Come back when you’ve made your decision. I’ll tell the Cohort you and Charlotte are off-limits tonight.”

2024.05.29 02:22 4tlaa P80 stolen and recovered

Long story short. A series of (legal) bad decisions ended up with my gun being stolen, then recovered by police (a city an hour over) all within 24 hours.
5/24
It was stored inside the glove department of my GF’s car when she had traveled to a family event an hour away. I planned on being in the house for the weekend and my parents requested I keep it out of the house until my safe comes in the mail (younger siblings in house). I agreed to not bring it into the house until then due to the above.
While out of town on a <24hr trip, my gf let her “best friend” of 6 years in her car (driving to 2nd location) which i was not made aware of. I was under the impression that she would be point A to point B , then resting at her aunts house for the night before coming back. My gf apparently got out to used the bathroom and while she was out and left the car unattended her “best friend” snooped around the car and stole my P80. After taking him home and checking the glove compartment, she had realized it was gone. She allegedly never told him where it was but she did leave him alone in the car (2nd mistake).
After realizing around 12AM she decided not to call me and let me know as “I would get mad” and come up there, so she talked to her aunt about it and they ended up calling the police in the morning.
My gf called me crying telling me not to freak out and that my gun had been stolen. Luckily it was the “best friends” birthday cookout so she knows where his mother lives.
She went to her house and informed her mother that my gun was stolen and his brother called to confront him about this. He began telling his family (over the phone) to close the door and ignore my gf. Once the police came, a report was filed and the gun was officially stolen.
A warrant was put out the next day, his mother recovered my gun and gave it to police. ( she initially was going ong to return it to my gf) but the police had showed up due to him being violent and destroying her house the next day.
In conclusion my gun has been recovered and my gf has to go to court and confirm that it was taken out of her possession and that he was the one that stole it.
**LESSON LEARNED : NEVER LEAVE YOUR FIREARMS UNATTENDED EVEN WITH SOMEONE YOU “TRUST” (trusting GF with my property , and her “best friend” to be loyal)
80% are completely legal here and the PD said I may get my gun back after my GF testifies in court.

Hi guys! This one has come in with plenty of time to fulfill. A World War II veteran in Massachusetts is turning 100 on June 29th. This guy is an absolute hero. He served with the U.S. 296th Engineers and stormed Omaha Beach on D-Day. He was awarded the French Legion of Honor Medal, in part for his participation in liberating the Buchenwald concentration camp.
He’s currently residing in a rest home in eastern Massachusetts, and his local police department put out the request for birthday cards.
His mailing address is in the article. If you have any problems finding it, please let me know and I’ll just DM it to you.
