Hi! So I recently discovered that I have an allergy to gel polish. As much as I would like to, I have never gone to a salon to get my nails done, just too expensive atm! So a couple of months ago I ordered some products from Beetles off of Amazon, and the first round went well, though I read up on the possibility of developing a gel allergy (the irony lol) so I then decided to buy some (apparently) HEMA-free polish (the brand is Nicedeco) from Amazon. A couple days after using this polish, I noticed that my cuticles had become inflamed with little blisters, even with the supposed HEMA-free polish. Tried again with the Beetles polish, same thing happened. I’m at a loss now for what to do; I enjoy the gel polish because my natural nails are so brittle and weak and tear all the time to the point where it’s painful, I’ve tried probably every brand of nail strengthener, but gel polish was the only thing that really helped them to grow out. I read somewhere that brands that claim to be HEMA-free on Amazon are not necessarily HEMA-free due to lack of regulations. I should also mention that I phoned a local beauty supply store and the lady said that the problem may be that the UV light is not properly curing the gel. I did a test and tried to cure some of the gel on a piece of plastic wrap, and the gel was definitely still wet underneath, so this also may be the problem. But she told me that some professional brands bought directly from the supplier are actually HEMA-free, but you need to be a licensed nail tech to purchase them (which I understand after my experience). But as going to a salon isn’t possible for me right now, I’m wondering if there is a way around this, or if I just have to throw in the towel on all gel, as I don’t want to risk my health over it. I was looking at the brands HONA (though you have to be a licensed nail tech to purchase, and I’m in Canada so it’s hard to get) and Light Elegance (also have to be a licensed nail tech). You seen this on any social media platform every single month, time, and day, it’s almost like a requirement to become famous online.
It’s gotten to a point where even being friends with big internet stars is like being in a war zone, I don’t want that, hate is like a drug, and everyone can form a mob which lead to more problems and distrust, and that trust is very important to me. Like if Smosh asks me to collaborate with them, I’ll decline, if a very popular cosplayer asks me for a collaboration, I’ll decline. But the truth of the matter is they were never really looking to be a part of our community, they simply wanted to use our community as a tool of activism and propaganda in the entertainment industry as it was extremely profitable, and they wanted inclusion in that division. Ever since GamerGate & Female Frequency, we have had to endure the incursion of forced ideologies, xenophobic behaviors and inferior overpriced products that have never been in our best interest and have been flat out disgraceful towards foreign media.

Oversaturated microtransactional games are one of the many reasons why we have become complacent and unwilling to fight against the exploitative tactics used by big brand game companies such EA, Ubisoft, ActivisionBlizzard, NaughtyDog and so many other western business model companies. Western style games were not like this in the past, they had much more depth and actual effort put into them with the gamer in mind. This has not been the case for over a decade and our connection to western developers has been whittled down to just being transactional. That is one of the reasons why you see so many remasters and remakes in today’s gamer community. They have lost their willingness to improve as developers of games and simply accept corporate/share holder rules.
Game journalists also do not have any real integrity or purpose outside of being funded for their involvement in promoting IPG (Identity Political Games) in a positive light to the public whether it’s positively received or not. We must sever our connection to Western Developers, Publishers, and ALL Western-Centric Entertainment for they seek to mentally enslave us to their Xenophobic ideology.
Let’s define Western Culture and its traits. Western Culture/Society is composed of more than several different ideologies that work in unison with one another to facilitate dominance over multiple aspects of society. Business, Social, Political, Technological, and sometimes even Global Affairs are affected by these ideologies that portray a specific mindset of Western beliefs. What are those ideologies you ask?

• Perpetual Victimhood: By weaponizing the fact that they are marginalized and of a small portion of western society, they can push their agenda to absurd standards that ultimately ostracize the main demographic. And when companies don’t capitulate, they are labeled as anti-progressive/misogynist’s or cohorts of White Supremacy. They use this to cancel their targets and silence them through societal defamation to keep the public on their side. They also use this mindset to justify their own lack of self-agency as they tend to throw companies who do adhere to their demands but miserably fail to turn a profit under the bus so that they can maintain face in front of the public while denying their actual involvement. They will never accept “Sense of Agency” when it’s negative but will gladly accept it when a positive outcome shines on them as if they are entitled to it.

• Societal Terrorism: This is another form of ideology weaponization that they use in order to make companies “toe-the-line” with their agenda. By weaponizing cancel culture, they exert dominance over these companies but in exchange they also reimburse those companies with DEI & ESG funds that raise their credit score as well as having social status with the marginalized demographic. However; cancel culture has not succeeded in years and developers and publishers probably only want the money and the DEI ESG rating. But they have to maintain the image of having social economic power so that they can continue to strong-arm other developers into compliance and promoting financial benefits of DEI & ESG. In other words, if you are not for sale, they discredit and stigmatize you in the industry.

• “Its not us, its you who’s wrong” Mentality: This mentality is especially annoying as they tend to use it to hide their incompetence. They often look down upon gamers who are not in the industry to hide their obvious lack of knowledge on game development thinking that their job title grants them special status that they believe gives them the right to be condescending. But the truth they never wanted revealed has already strangled their careers of all credibility. They were never GAMERS, they were INVADERS. • Double-standard Enforcement: By labeling something as “unrealistic” or “hypersexualized”, they can claim this is morally wrong if it promotes traditional dynamics between men and women. Heterosexual relationships are condemned while at the same time Same-sex relationships are praised. Additionally, heterosexual relationships with main white male characters turn antagonistic and spotlight stealing. This is deliberate as to promote the “Girl Boss” ideology to indoctrinate women into the Feminazi state of mind. While at the same time, should a male character also adopt the “I don’t need male/female” ideology its seen as Toxic Masculinity which isn’t even a real thing. The idea of a strong male character is taboo while enforcing strong female characters is the ideal.

• Dehumanization/Demonization: This is something that most military branches use in order to remove conscious inhibitions such as mass slaughter is wrong or categorization. By enforcing ideologies to denounce humanity in certain targets, it deactivates your conscience by saying this is not human therefore its ethically okay to treat this target without compassion and deny the fact it has sentience. We gamers fall under this category for journalists, developers, companies and society at large. This is a tactic we are familiar with to an extent as it implies that we are not normal when we do not do what everybody else is doing. “Geeks are the worse” or “Nerds need to fall into a pit of lava” are verbal dehumanization forms that most people in society say and we as Gamers tend to be relegated to those categories. This is their way of imposing the social hierarchy on us by establishing superiority. We know this as Gamers as we see it very often in the games that we play and some times experience it in real life.

• Deflection/Projection: This is basic psychology 101. By redirecting the conversation away from their mistakes and back on to the opposing view to avert blame and justify their innocence they can avoid criticism. However; deflection is a CONSCIOUS decision, meaning they have no real argument to justify their incompetence. If you can consciously process the situation, you have self-agency which means you don’t have a legitimate excuse. Projection is something else entirely. Most times, Projection doesn’t work on conscious decisions rather it is automatically deployed when feeling threatened, anxious or both. Instead of accepting accountability for feelings or actions that are deemed socially unacceptable they accuse others of committing that unacceptable behavior thereby exonerating themselves and proving that those feelings and/or actions are not their own.

These traits are so nefarious and unconscionable that I have a hard time believing that anyone could harbor them. However, given the social, political, and economic climate that we are in, those in power who use their influence on controlling society most definitely possess these insidious traits. Everything that they do is all about control and since video games are the biggest market in the world, they want control over it and the communities built around it to accrue more wealth and to use that wealth to subjugate other cultures. Mainstream media is a tool as well as mainstream organizations and sites to help accomplish this goal.
The government recently announced its intentions towards what they believe is “GamerGate 2.0” and now even the ADL has made an official appearance, referring to gamers as “extremist’s”. We know EXACTLY what they are doing, and they aren’t even trying to hide it anymore because they don’t think we are aware of their motives. This is just a pretext for them to exert even more control and we know why, it’s because they want the influence we as a community have to must serve them. So here is what we do my fellow gamers-
“In light of recent events and years of mainstream stigma, we the members of the Global Gaming Community [GGC] must officially renounce ALL TIES to the corporate western video game market. Hey everyone, I’m making this post and comment below just as a factual recount of my journey selling my childhood collection over the past few months, in case it is helpful to anyone now or later. Sorry for the long post - I’m a numbers guy and this kind of stuff is very interesting to me, so I’m recounting it in detail.
My collection was mostly Base Set Pokemon, some shadowless, some random Topps, and a few cards from Expedition and the Neo collections (I stopped collecting roughly right when those cards released). I had a total of 374 cards. Almost all were LP - a few NM, a few MP. None were graded. I took good care of them and always had them in a binder. My “best” card was a damaged shadowless Charizard that a friend gave to me before he threw away his collection when we were, like, 10 years old (I estimated this card’s value at $325).
Thanks to this forum for guiding me to TCGplayer when I found my old stash and looked to sell it. I priced every single card, even the stupid Ratattas and Weedles, based on NM/LP/MP/damaged (because I am very type A/OCD!) using TCGplayer and came to a value of $1,614.63. I would argue there was roughly +/- $150 from that estimate based on condition.
I already have experience selling collectibles and had a good amount of feedback as an eBay seller from auctioning off other items, namely complete Lego sets and vintage Hot Wheels Redlines/Matchbox cars. I didn’t feel like making a new account on TCGplayer, Mercari, or any other retailing site because I am lazy. I didn’t cross-post anything or try FB marketplace. I strictly went with eBay to see what would happen. High value cards were listed individually. Bulk was separated by collection and listed in lots. I listed all cards at auction/OBO within a few dollars of what they were worth. My rule of thumb - 4 weeks of auctions at the price I want it to sell for; after 4 weeks, I cut the price by 25%; after 4 more weeks, I cut the price by another 25%; and after 4 more weeks, I list the item at $0.99+shipping and see what happens. Other people may have better methods or more patience, but I eventually get tired of selling things/seeing the clutter everywhere in the house and want it gone.
Out of 374 cards, I only sold TWO at a price over my initial expectations (thanks Gengar and Blastoise!). 37 sold at asking price. 335 sold below my expectations. I received hundreds of direct messages with radically lowball offers (I set my listings to automatically reject offers that don’t meet an 85% threshold, people still messaged me to ask when their offers were auto-rejected) - my favorite was someone asking if I would sell a shadowless Charizard for $50. I assume they were mostly kids/teenagers, but it was annoying AF. I’ve never experienced that with buyers of other collectibles - usually the price is what it is: set by the market +/- 10% based on the condition/interaction and that’s that. I eventually had to go back and modify all my listings to replace the OBO with Buy It Now to stop the madness. The Charizard sold for $315 plus shipping.
Anyway, total sale cost of everything (including shipping costs) was $1,017.32. The shipping costs/eBay fees accounted for 22.0% of total sale costs, leaving me with $793.42 (49.13% of the expected value) at the end of the day. Granted, I’ll never complain about an extra $793 that I didn’t have before, but a few things:

• I spent approximately 26.5 hours researching, pricing, snapping photos, listing, dealing with buyers, re-listing, modifying listings, and packaging these cards over the course of 16 weeks. This process took longer for me because I was unfamiliar with the market and had to do a lot of research and pricing. You all would probably fare better, but there is inherently a lot of time in managing listings.
• Assuming a price of $4/pack of 11 cards back in 1999, the collection cost me $136 in 1999 US dollars. Inflated to 2024, the cost of the collection is roughly $260, so a profit was made albeit not what was expected.
• Just for fun: $793 (sold price) minus $260 (cost price) = $533 divided by 26.5 hours of work = $20.11/hour. This is below my current working/salary rate.
• Annualized ROI of $136 in 1999 to $793 in 2024 gives a 7.29% annual rate of return. Not bad, but not phenomenal compared to other markets.
• Selling these was grueling. Hundreds of listings were active over several weeks. Collectibles are never “liquid assets” but these were the least liquid asset I’ve ever sold. Usually I do my research, set my prices, and my stuff sells within 2 weeks with haggling on maybe 10% of items. This took 2 months and things really only sold because I dropped them to $0.99 and walked away. I could see this taking years if you were holding out for a certain dollar amount on a particular card.

And while you're at it, don't forget to pack comfortable walking shoes as you'll be doing a lot of walking during the conference.

Hotel
To ensure maximum flexibility and convenience, we strongly recommend staying at a hotel within a 15-minute walking distance from the convention center. This way, you won't be tied to bus schedules and can walk to the conference at any time, giving you more control over your schedule. The Mandalay Bay and the Delano offer a short walk to the convention center, making them excellent choices. However, the Delano is your best bet if you want to avoid walking through the casino. The Luxor and Excalibur are a bit farther away (20+ minutes walking), but with their covered and air-conditioned walkways, you won't have to worry about the weather or getting too tired.

Sessions
If you're planning to attend Cisco Live, it's important to sign up for your breakout sessions before the conference begins. Unlike some other conferences, signing up beforehand is mandatory at Cisco Live, as it guarantees you a reserved admission to the session of your choice. This is especially important for the most popular sessions, so plan your sessions in advance to avoid missing out on the ones you really want to attend.
Once the session catalog opens up on the registration website, it is advisable to schedule the sessions you are most interested in as soon as possible. You can always go back later to change sessions. It's important to prioritize the topics that are most important to you, as there are usually more sessions than you can attend. When choosing sessions, don't just read the titles. If a session title sounds interesting, read the abstract to get more details about what the session will cover. You can also get an idea of the technical depth of a given session based on the session number. 1000 level sessions are introductory, 2000 are intermediate, and 3000 are advanced. Remember to set aside some time during the week to visit the World of Solutions. This is where you can speak with vendors, explore various product lines, attend demos, participate in self-paced labs, or capture the flag events to enhance your skills. If you have any tough questions saved up, you can ask Cisco people, both technical and non-technical, and there's a special section of the show dedicated to TAC people.
While there are receptions with food and beverages and lots of tchotchkes, the World of Solutions is a great place to make contacts. If you want to have a real conversation with any vendors, don't count on doing it during a reception - it's just too busy. It's better to devote a breakout session to the expo, where there will be fewer people, and you can have a meaningful conversation with the vendors.

Cisco Live Celebration
The Cisco Live Celebration, formerly known as the CAE (Customer Appreciation Event), is a giant social gathering for all the attendees. It’s a great time to relax and socialize with people you’ve met at Cisco Live. For Las Vegas 2024, Elton John will be headlining the Cisco Live Celebration will be at Allegiant Stadium. Be prepared to be reminded of when rock was young with some Crocodile Rock!
Every year, the bus rides back from this get crazy. Leaving a bit early may save you a ton of time. Depending on where you’ve chosen to stay, it may be within walking distance, and the weather in the evening is usually quite comfortable.

Hey people.
This is a long story, but I’m going to try and condense it as much as possible. Basically about 9 weeks ago my maternal cousin and I both completed an Ancestral/DNA test through one of the popular brands.
My parents are very against these DNA tests (I thought) because they don’t like the idea of giving your DNA to these companies and so have forbidden me from doing them in the past when I brought up the idea. Though, I now know the real reason they were against me doing it.
My cousin (James) got his results first and matched with loads of people saying my mother’s maiden name, as well as other names known within my mother’s family line.
I got my results about a week later and not only did I not match with my cousin, I didn’t match with any of my cousins matches nor did anyone share my mothers maiden name. My dad (and I) have an extremely common surname in my country -think “smith”- and I did match with a few people who shared that name but none were close matches, 3rd-4th cousins being the closest. So I’m just assuming it was because it’s a common surname.
James’ family know he’s done the DNA test and he’s shared the results however I have asked him to keep what he knows about mine between us for a while.
I learnt this about 2 weeks ago and have since come to the conclusion that I am adopted. At first this made me feel really upset, and I thought maybe the DNA tests were faulty but after researching, no I don’t think they are. I think I am just adopted. I have two younger brothers who are 11 and 9 who aren’t adopted because I remember my mom being pregnant with them. So I can’t understand why I was adopted.
I want to know tell my parents know about being adopted, I want to in some ways confront them and ask why they’ve lied to me for so long. But I also want to say I still consider them my only family. James thinks it’s a really bad idea, he says I should just keep it to myself because if I tell my parents I know I’m adopted it could have negative consequences on my relationship with my parents and also could get him into trouble with his parents because he bought me the DNA test and he is very close to my parents.
I’ve said I’ll just tell them I bought the test myself but he says they’ll know because he got his test so recently.
WIBTA if I ignored my cousin and confronted my parents about me being adopted anyway?

It might be better to tell them about the existing results before you know what the real story is. Right now you're in a gray area, where you have some possibly mixed up information and you're genuinely just asking questions rather than confronting anyone. This gives them a chance to (very belatedly) do the right thing ... or not, which would also be illuminating in a way. You can always seek confirmation and drama later if necessary or desired.

This is a long story, I’m going to try and condense it. I’ve spoken about it before on a different post on my profile if you want more details.
In the past I’ve spoken about wanting to do one of those Ancestry and DNA at home tests, but my parents (or who I thought were my parents) were always against them. They told me because they don’t trust those companies with your DNA, but I obviously know the real reason now.
A while ago my cousin and I decided to buy a test each and I completed mine in secret. I was shocked when not only did I not match with him when we got the results, I didn’t match with anyone who shared a surname with any of my family (except for some matches that shared my dad’s surname, but this is an extremely common surname in my country. Think “Smith” for the USA).
I thought perhaps the test was faulty or wrong, but after some researching I had my doubts that the test was faulty. But just in case I decided to do a second test, with a different company, just in case the first one was somehow wrong. This time I bought three tests, one I gave to my paternal uncle (he’s actually only a few years older than me despite being my uncle) and one I gave to my maternal cousin, and the last one I did myself.
We sent them all off and we got our results surprisingly quickly, about 10 days after we sent them off (yesterday night). But these tests confirmed my suspicions, I’m not related to my family.
And even more, I matched with a woman “49.8% DNA match, predicted parent/child”. Looked on her profile and she was born in 1991 meaning she would have been 15/16ish when I was born. She hasn’t been active on the app for over 6 months.
I’ve written out messages to her to send and then deleted them, I’ve contemplated just saying “hello” but haven’t had the courage to actually send it off. I also could just turn off matches and make my profile invisible, that way she wouldn’t see me if she logged back in again. I could pretend she doesn’t exist and that I never found this out. I have another mom out there that I know nothing about, it makes me feel so anxiously curious.
My parents never told me I was adopted, I feel utterly betrayed by them. I’ve resisted the urge to confront them about it since I got the results back from the first test, but now I know for certain I just want to smash my fists into a wall. I want to scream at them. I hate that they’ve kept this from me for my entire life.
Now the only people who know I know is my uncle and my cousin. I trust that they won’t say anything to anyone until I’ve spoken to people about it.
I feel so lost and confused. Should I message my biological mom? Or pretend she doesn’t exist and turn my profile invisible from her?
TL;DR:
Discovered I'm adopted via DNA kit. Matched with biological mom, unsure whether to message or ignore. Feeling betrayed by adoptive parents. Uncertain about confronting them. Feeling lost and conflicted.

I'm wondering if there is a possibility she did the DNA test as a vague hope that maybe one day you would use it as a tool to find her and reach out to her. Whether or not she did, the ball is in your court and I think it should stay that way until you are ready to deal with it. Reach out when you are ready. A lot has happened to me since my last post here, and before I start to explain I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who commented/replied to my OP. It was really helpful and I truly appreciate it. For full context read the other posts on my profile which discuss this situation further.
First things first, I decided to turn my profile private/invisible. I didn't want my biological mom (BM) to see that I had done a DNA test as an invitation to message me. I looked at her profile one last time and it still said "last online 6 months ago" or something like that, so she obviously doesn't check the app regularly. I wrote down information about her (first and last name, birth year, 'past' family names) in case in the future I lose access to the account or if I want to try to track her down and her account disappeared. Though I am hoping that if I do decide to have contact with her in the future, I will just be able to message her on the app. But just in case.
I "confronted" my parents about what I had found out, there was a lot of crying. Especially from my mom, but also from me. I told them how hurt I was that they never told me, and how much it has caused pain and anxiety to find this out on my own and feeling like I was unable to ask them about it.
They apologised to me, they explained to me that they wanted to tell me. They planned on doing it when I turned 8, but they 'couldn't go through with it' because they 'didn't want to hurt me'. They said every year they planned to tell me and every year they put it off. They told me they did it out of love for me, but also out of anxiety that it would change our relationship for the worse.
I explained to them that even if them telling me that I was adopted did hurt me as a child I would have had them there to support me through it. And that now I had found out on my own and felt like I didn't have anyone there to understand what I was going through. They took responsibility for not telling me and for the hurt it caused when I was now.
We hugged, we cried and we forgave each other. Even though I don't agree with them not telling me, I can understand their feelings and why they found it so difficult when I was younger.
After we had finished talking about it they asked me what I wanted moving forward, if I wanted to tell my brothers that I was adopted or just carrying on like nothing happened. I said I no longer wanted it to be a secret and that I wanted them to tell my brothers what they should have told me. I didn't want it to seem like a 'dirty' secret, but simply a fact of who I am and where I came from. I want it to be something celebrated, not feared to be talked about. I wasn't born into this family, but this is my family. And I feel so blessed that I was given the opportunity to become part of this family.
I asked what they knew about my BM, they said not much. They know that she was in foster care when she fell pregnant with me, and that she would have only been 14/15 at the time. She decided she didn't want to keep me but didn't want to have a termination and so I was put up for adoption and that she requested 'no contact' with me. I hope that the situation around my birth wasn't traumatic for her. I know this is a weird thought, but I hope she just got pregnant with me from another person her own age and that I wasn't a product of any abuse. That makes me sad to think about.

TL;DR: Made profile private to avoid contact from biological mom. Confronted parents about adoption, led to tears and apologies. They planned to tell me but couldn't. Agreed to tell brothers, no longer want adoption to be a secret. Grateful for my family. Biological mom was in foster care, gave me up for adoption at 14/15, requested no contact. Hopeful for her well-being. Grateful for support and advice.

When I think about my life I have no clue where I want it to go but I know somethings I want to do. Am I holding myself back? Are there people in my life who are bringing me down unintentionally? Am I surrounding myself with people and habits that are really just limiting my life experiences. Am I expecting too much out of life?
Well when I think about life and what could make me “realistically” happy I think maybe not stressing so much on where I wanna be. Or maybe even pursuing a dream career. I’ve learned so far that anything you wanna do that makes you money that allows you to live is gonna either A. Be uncomfortable most days or B. Require a good amount of discipline and in most cases both are these are the outcome.
I often day dream about seeing Japan and perhaps even living there. I find myself gravitating towards things that come from Japan for example, my car is Japanese , the game consoles I love and collect are Japanese and i tend to even lean towards Japanese foods , games/ art , shows and music. I feel like Tokyo is full of night life and neon signs , things in Japan seem so cool , advanced and convenient. But to me not in a bad way more like a way that encourages a better life style. I have a passion to try to stay mentally , physically and spiritually healthy. And from the outside looking in the Japanese culture seems to really agree with that too. I tend to find myself thinking logically and not really stressing on the little stuff. I’ve never met a Japanese person but from what I can tell it seems like within the culture life seems full. Well…at least most of the time. Because I understand the concern and problem in Japanese culture has been similar too and or over working/work life stress and depression but on the other hand it seems like after work many people tend to go out to eat or socialize. People are competitive care about their jobs , hobbies and family. People just seem more discipline.
Now before I continue. Let’s talk about what a dream careelife looks like to me. 1. My relationship with God is good 2. I am fit and in shape 3. My job is related to or flexible with my forever changing interest and need to adventure and learn 4. I work on more of my own time possibly owning my own brand or business 5. I invest my money in things that allow me to continue to travel or freely indulge in my passions of cars , fitness and life 6. I am motivated noticeably more than I was was in the past and my discipline is on point! 7. When the time is right I find myself finally settling down with a women that is physically attractive and mentally there for me So what can we do? Well I feel like I know but don’t at the same time. I work in an automotive shop making more money than I ever have with the chance to make more (40k annually at 20y old) which to me isn’t terrible but I feel like am I only doing this because it’s better than working at Walmart or am I doing this because I went to school for it when I didn’t really know what I wanted out of life, but to be a successful artist/entrepreneur? When I begin to feel lost in life I tend to day dream about Japan / Tokyo and I think hm Would life be better if I just started over but isn’t that sefish? I have a mom at home who’s blind she needs help my dad runs a business? My brother is 27 but he’s still family… is it selfish to want to leave and start over is this what God wants of me is it against his plans ? I mean he gave us free will and as long as we trust him we’ll be okay right !? I. Don’t. Know. When I lean on him and try to knock my bad habits I find myself distancing myself from almost everyone in my life. I go thru spells of unemployment because I feel like I need to gather myself and be alone make a plan and work on myself. Sometimes I do things like social media and it feels like it’s lined up with God or it doesn’t or my music doesn’t but producing music does, or making videos about travel seems fun making a channel based on finding the meaning of life or how to find your passion seems fun but according to religion it seems like the meaning of life is GOD and your passion should be GOD and all eyes on GOD and you will be okay and that sounds great it sounds okay and fine. But I’ve tried and tried and I’m confused I’m very confused. I need help and I do ask God for help , I pray I talk to older people to pick their brain and I come to a conclusion that feels fake I don’t ever really feel satisfied. I feel like I’m allowing people to create my life. My job selection and school career just felt very “people pleasy “ like oh I’m doing this because it would make my parents proud. But now I want my own life and have been creating it but I’m stuck with the consequences of my past decisions so I feel like I can only go so far. I feel stuck I feel nervous I feel worried about my future I’m worried that I won’t be satisfied And I even try to live as if God with take the wheel and then I snap into reality of my physical world and then start worrying am I going in the right direction is this God or is this me doing bare minimum? Alright so, I started investing in my Roth IRA at 18 I just turned 19 in May and I still don’t have a full understanding of what I’m doing. Since I am on the younger side of investors I want to take advantage of being able to be more risky with my portfolio and putting the majority of my money into QQQM for their potential to bring back huge returns. However I am aware when the market goes down, my portfolio will drop significantly because of this. Since the top performing stocks in the S&P were mostly tech stocks, I’m betting on us advancing way more with technology & AI in the future and I’m ok with a temporary negative on my investment since I’m not planning on touching this money for 40+ years anyway. That being said, what are your thoughts on a 60% QQQM , 30% FXAIX , 10% SCHD split? Am I taking on too much risk? Would it be wiser to have FXAIX as my main position? Hi, I’ve been thinking on getting a medium format camera. The issue is that in my country the prices are huge, and if a decide to buy one from eBay the import tax is 50% of the item plus shipping (from what I saw shipping goes from 70 to 150usd)
I don’t have a set format, I would prefer a 6x45 or a 6x7 due to lack of experience with square format, but I am not against getting a 6x6. The “best” deal I found is a bundle of a mamiya c330 with 4 lenses (180, 80, 65 and 55), filters, a grip and 3 viewfinders (waist level, prism and chimney) for 750$. I say “best” because that camera alone in other listings goes for 450$ to even 700$.
A camera I really liked are the Zenza Bronicas, but a ETRS with a waist level viewfinder and 2 lenses (zenzanon 75mm 2.8 and 250 5.6) goes for 650$
Another ETR with a AEii light meter prism, speed grip E, 2 lenses (zenzanon 75mm 2.8 and 200mm 4.5), lever for advancing the roll, and a Polaroid back (no real use for that) for 750$ (this seems like the other “best” deal.
A Bronica TL with a Nikkor 75mm 2.8 goes for 470$
A Yashica mat 124 g goes for 490$ though I found another for 300$
A Yashica 635 goes for 253$
A Yashica EM mat goes for 338$

I am not desperate for a medium format, so maybe I can wait to travel abroad and buy one for “reasonable” prices if none of this are recommendable.
Also, forgot to add that most if not all of the Yashica cameras are from Facebook marketplace and will need a service, while some of the others seem to be in working order as they are currently being used.

SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 16 AND EALIER

Ink5oul is first mentioned in the 2nd episode when they tattooed the girl who was an artist on social media and having the body image issues.
Ink5oul is mentioned by name again in the most recent episode (16) and this episode also involves social media influencers and personal image. (This time with cancel culture and what not)
Episode 11 while not explicitly mentioning Ink5oul’s name is obviously tied to them because of all the tattoo stuff. And bc of what we know now about Ink5oul robbing graves in episode 16 it’s p obvious the person Gordy encountered with the snake tattoo was Ink5oul (or atleast someone in similar social circles).
Anyways here’s where my theory comes in about it not exactly being Ink5oul’s tattoos that are cursed but rather the ones they are inspired by. In Episode 11 when Gordy finds the body that is way too well preserved with the boat back tattoo he is drawn to it because he is developing some spooky connection to the sea and stuff. While the person with the snake tattoo (again most likely Ink5oul) steals the body because it is an “Oscar Jarrett” which has smth to do with Sutherland Macdonald (historical figure, the first person to legally do tattoos in the UK) and mentions them being “popular in online circles”. Suggesting that there not only are cursed tattoos long before Ink5oul but also multiple people aware of them.
I think Ink5oul’s connection to internet fame and social media is also very telling because they are praised online for their creative tattoos but in episode 16 it is implied that they just get all their ideas from dead bodies and cursed tattoos that already exist. Basically like they are drop-shipping cursed tattoos. Something that I’m sure if got revealed to their fan base would cause major issues not just because the tattoos are cursed but because they would be stealing peoples art work which is a big deal in creative circles. Ink5oul uses the viciousness of the internet and social media to harm the people in episodes 2 and 16 but rlly it’s more like they are feeding the mob and when they run out of people to feed it it will eat them too. And I think that “teetering on the edge between victim and ‘avatar’” angle is really interesting and I’m excited to see how it develops!

I work at a warehouse where I do freight. I won’t name the warehouse but let’s say it’s one of the largest warehouse/ retail stores in the world. Anyways like I said I do freight where my team and I unload cargo trucks for the most part. Every single one of my coworkers are absolutely amazing, we’re all friends and even hang out outside of work. I don’t have a single bad thing to say about anyone, except this one coworker. I won’t say his name but let’s call him bob. Bob has been a problem at this job since he got hired 7 months ago. He’s had multiple complaints over the months where he’ll spit in front of ppl when he passes by them and he’s also been knewn to “shoulder checking ppl” Bob has also wished death on these ppl in front of a bunch of other coworkers as well. When he was reported to the manager the manager didn’t do a single thing. Not even sit down to talk with him. I spoke with the manager a couple weeks ago because Bob almost ran me over with a pellet jack IN FRONT of her and she didn’t say a single thing. It’s store policy to say “pallet jack going in/pallet jack going out” that way you don’t accidentally hit someone. Bob didn’t say a single thing and when I told him about it he told me to open my eyes. Again the manager was right there and didn’t say thing. Recently a couple coworkers found there lunch boxes soaking wet with all their food in the trash cans. Every knows it’s him but again HR nor the managers did anything.
2 days ago on Tuesday. We were unloading the cargobox again Bob isn’t doing his job right. His putting the big boxes on the small selves when we have a SPECIFIC spot for them. This is an every day occurrence. But I guess after we told him for 100th to put the big boxes where they go he lost his mind. He went into my locker, took my personal belongings and threw them in the trash. He also left a soaking wet paper napkin in there (I did know if it was soaking from water, piss or who knows what) I went to confront him and told him i knew it was him bc I placed a small camera in my locker and saw the video. As I’m walking out to leave I tell another manger about his and she told me to write a report. As I’m writing my report Bob comes over and demands the manager to give him a report so he can fill out. The manager says that it’s for only serious reports, Bob then proceeds to have mental breakdown where his SCREAMING at the top of lungs saying the team harasses him bc his always tell him to do the job properly, shortly afterwards the ADMITTED to the manager that he went into my locker and threw my personal belongings away. The managers jaw dropped to the floor she couldn’t believe that he just admitted to stealing my stuff and vandalizing my locker.
The next day(yesterday Wednesday) the head manger of the store calls me apologizing about what happened. He told me to ignore him and when I asked if he’s getting the fired the head manger basically told me to mind my business. Later that day I go to work and guess what Bob is still there after he admitted committing a crime in front of the other manger and a bunch coworkers. I proceed to ignore him that whole day. After my shift is over I went to the manger office asking if I could get a lock for my locker. This new manger gave me a brand new lock and as I’m walking into the break room to lock up my locker is see Bob staying in front of my locker with a smile on his face I look at my locker and I see that he drew all over it. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Someone scribbled on his locker (most likely he did it himself) and he proceeded to blame me saying I drew on his locker so he drew on mine. I couldn’t believe my eyes. The ENTIRE break room was packed with all my other coworkers and they just stood there in absolute shock on how he had to audacity to vandalize my locker for the second time I a row. I didn’t touch his locker, nor did I draw on it. Nor did I even say ANYTHING to him that entire day. One of the manger came and told me to write a report I told him I’d rather just go home but then Bob said he wanted to write a report so the manger told me I should too. All the manger are sick of his and so are the other coworkers. No one can believe his audacity nor the fact that he wasn’t fired the first time he stole my property, nor the fact that it happened the very next day again.
I’m kinda shocked that I didn’t receive a call from the head manager today since his commit 2 crimes 2 days in a row.
Last month I did a interview for a new position at the company and I’m currently in the process of being transferred to a new position and my theory is that Bob is mad that I got the new job opportunity and not him since he also applied for it and got denied.
I just don’t know what to due. My transfer begins beginning of next month but there’s no way I can continue working with Bob for another 3 weeks considering what happened in the last 2 days.
If I go to work today and see that his still there and does ONE more thing after ALL OF THIS. I might consider pressing charges bc this is just INSANE
