Biogaphy Early Life
In 55BC, under a golden sun in the bustling city of Oldtown, Dorian Hightower was born the second son to Lord Leyton Hightower and his wife Leona Bulwer. His early childhood was marked by a sense of curiosity and an inherent noble pride that was expected of a Hightower; against a backdrop filled with the sounds of the bustling harbour, the smell of the sea, and the sight of a forest of sails coming and going. Oft he would watch the ships as they sailed away and wondered where they went
From a young age, Dorian showed a keen interest in learning and the world around him. His education was that expected of one of his lineage; lessons with the Maester were as important as that of his martial education. At just ten, he was sent to Highgarden to squire for House Gardener. There, amidst the vibrant gardens and rich traditions of the Reach, he learned the values of chivalry, honour, and the importance of duty. His time at Highgarden left a lasting impression on him, fostering a deep respect for the knightly traditions that would shape his later life -- which would make the later actions of the Tyrells sting all the more,
At one-and-seven, Dorian’s path took a scholarly turn. Sent to study at the Citadel, immersed in the halls of knowledge, he began forging his maester's chain, dedicating himself to the studies of copper for history, bronze for astronomy, and iron for warcraft. His mentors noted a sharp intellect and strategic mind, qualities that would serve him well in the years to come.
The Heir to the Hightower
In 35 BC, a marriage united Dorian with Leila Tarly, a match both strategic and affectionate. At the age of twnety Dorian became a father, welcoming his first child, Garlan, into the world. Over the years, the Hightower family grew with the births of Garmund, Delena, Owen, and Lynesse. Each child brought new joy and responsibility, shaping Dorian into a devoted father and a wise lord.
The Stranger visited the Hightowers in 20 BC, when Dorian's older brother, Leyton, the heir to the Hightower, was lost in a shipwreck while returning from a journey to Braavos. At five-and-twenty, Dorian was thrust into the role of heir, a position he had not anticipated. Embracing his new responsibilities with determination, he began learning the intricacies of rule, administration, and justice from his father. Living in Oldtown, the heart of the Faith of the Seven, also imparted a deep spiritual awareness in Dorian. The more he learned, the more he was put into positions of authority. Initially undertaking a role as his father's Steward, Dorian learned quickly that he was much too bored by numbers to be anything close to competent. He was better at dealing with people.
Through his dealings his network grew, and this network, he recognised, could be turned toward the flow of information. The ships he had watched as a boy carried trade, but they also carried words from half the world away. If he could find a way to hear those words before any else, he'd have an advantage -- not only in trade, but in politics as well. Setting to work, Dorian used his House's name to tour as often as he could, finding those in key places that would serve his ends for the right price.
Life and Trials
As the head of House Hightower, Dorian instilled in his family a profound sense of fairness and the importance of knightly traditions. He stressed the values of chivalry and gallantry, ensuring that these principles were deeply rooted in the Hightower legacy. His household became known for its adherence to these values, earning respect and admiration throughout the Reach.
He was an avid hunter, frequently organising grand hunting expeditions in the lands surrounding Oldtown. Not merely for sport, these hunts also served as opportunities to bond with his children and vassals. One notable hunt saw Dorian bring down a formidable stag, a feat that became legendary in his household.
Dorian’s daughter Delena married Harlan Tyrell after a secret tryst, a match that Dorian did not initially support but ultimately was forced to accept. His youngest daughter, Lynesse, found a husband in Willem Ryger. A man whom Dorian had mentored in the art of espionage, and who would later go on to prove the most succesful spymaster in the country.

Family life, however, was not without its hardships, and the Hightowers not immune to tragedy. The House faced a profound loss when Garlan, Dorian's eldest son, was killed on the Field of Fire, turned to ash by dragonfire. This tragedy left Garlan's young son, Gwayne, as Dorian's heir, a heavy burden for the grieving boy to bear at such a young age. By then Dorian was a man nearing his sixtieth decade, not young by any stretch, and so particularly attension was paid to Gwayne's education near to the exclusion of all else. A small army of learned men were brought in to cover every aspect that would eventually be required of him. Dorian hardly went anywhere without his grandson in tow. The Seven Kingdoms might have been united, but the dawn of this new age was eclipsed by Dorian's fears that he would pass before his heir was ready, and he had known many a House felled by the poorly equipped.
Dorian levied from Lord Hightower against House Costayne of having refused the call to rally at Oldtown, backed by the word of the High Septon. A host marched on Three Towers but was met with denial from Lord Costayne who eventually demanded a trial by combat. Gyles Gardener offered himself as champion, and for his victory was given rule over Three Towers, with the fallen lord’s kin being exiled to Essos. Aegon Targaryen was crowned in the Starry Sept upon their return.
In 8AC, a band of sellswords by the name of the Black Roses arrived in Oldtown, headed up by Harlon Costayne, offering cheap mercenaries for the city and protection for its trade. Dorian put to them a challenge, a trial by combat to determine if the Seven stood with the Roses. Pit against a knight of Oldtown, the Black Roses emerged the victorious party, and Dorian issued them leave to remain so long as they served the Reach and her interests.

Life is a loan, and eventually all men's accounts are settled in full. Having passed into his eightieth year, Dorian Hightower knows the end is nearing for him. Age wracks his body, though his mind remains sharp. He has prepared his grandson as best as he could have done, and all that remains is the wait until his last, content in the knowledge. For the first time in a decade, the Lord of the Hightower has descended from his perch and travels towards King's Landing.

Biography:
Born in 5BC, the firstborn son to Garlan Hightower, Gwayne was bathed in a viridescent light, anointed with the seven oils and named in the rainbow of light that filled the sept in the Hightower. This act alone is reserved for the heirs to the Hightower, a ceremony to mark them from birth as defenders of the Faith. His early life was a happy one, though he recalls little of the time. His mother and father were truly in love. Only two years later after his birth would his brother follow, and their two sisters after them. His grandfather's hall and hearth was filled with the laughter of children.
It was Garlan Hightower who held command of the Hightower host the fateful day that dragonfire swept across the Field of Fire, who perished there on the field, and whose bones were turned to ash and no longer able to be laid to rest. Gwayne was too young to grasp the reality of it, and before long his Grandfather had him learning with such intensity that he hardly had time to process the fact his father wasn't coming home.
Life turned into a steady routine of learning. His lessons consisted of how to act at court, his histories, his number and letters, and martial training in the yard. He would be woken before the dawn and not be permitted to bed until the sun had slipped away and night had fallen. Recklessly bold, oft he would attempt to climb the exterior of the Hightower and be scolded for the act if discovered.
His first true test at arms came when in the form of pirates. They had made their home in a cove and would strike out at ships fat and ripe with goods. Gwayne rode out with a small band of men, headed up by his uncle, Owen. For a week they scoured the coastline looking for signs of their quarry, and eventually, one night, sky unclouded and stars bright, they saw the fires. Come the dawn the charge of the Reachmen sent the pirates srambling for their weapons, and though they put up a fight, they were cut down to a man and their ships burned. Of those that surrendered, they would hang at the port in Oldtown as a stark reminder. For his bravery Gwayne was given their Valyrian Steel sword, Vigilance, upon his return.
He would seek out his glory in the lists after that, travelling the length of the Seven Kingdoms looking to make his name as a knight. Tourney followed tourney, but at each stop he remembered to paya visit to the local Sept and offer prayer. He lent a hand where he could. Sometimes he found friends, sometimes he found foe.
When the Orphans of the Fire descended on the Reach, Gwayne wished to march out and chase them down, but Dorian refused him -- and as well he did, for the chaos wrought by the Orphans might have claimed him, and Dorian was adamant that he would not lose another heir to fire. The inaction rankled at Gwayne, but he heeded his grandfather's words all the same.
Now, in 25AC, with Dorian ailing and a celebration called, Gwayne travels toward the event and prepares himself for what may come.

Hey all, I need some help understanding why I’m being charged my $3500 deductible / oopm again.
A month and a half ago I reported to the ER for kidney stones, they addressed the issue and I met my $3500 deductible / OOPM (United HC). Out of that, I paid $2500 of it, and only have the $1000 outstanding, which has not been billed to me yet.
Next week, I am having surgery with Advent Health to extract the stone, and I just checked my account to see if there was any balance I owed up front. To my surprise, they are stating that I owe $3500 up front, with the remainder of cost being covered by insurance. If there would have been any cost, I would think it would be the outstanding $1000 from my deductible / OOPM.
Can anyone help me understand why I owe this much up front after the ER covered my entire deductible / OOPM?

Hi. I’m 27 years old and I dont know what to do. I just came back from a 3 month sick leave from that job because it was too much for me. I was in charge of everyone with the phone from the company 24h/7. Now that I am back, they said that I would be good to create hobbies for the residence (old people you know). I was so happy with their decision, until now: not only i am not the leisure manager but i have to replace the receptionist. They said they didnt know she was going on a sick leave. It okay, i know the feel but its not in my task to do the job of everyone. I talked with my boss and he said that I am the only one who know « how to » …. I told him that I was uncomfortable with this since he told me I was going to be in charge of the hobbies, that i would do 32h a week to begin with and now i am stuck at the front, monday to friday , 40h a week. 100 Proof- Aged in Soul. VG/VG-. Original press on the hot wax label. I being conservative calling the wax VG, it really has very minimal light non feelable lines. The front cover has ring wear, jacket has hole punch top right corner, no splitting. Super hard to find this soul record. $19

The bunks on your trailer will go through the bottom of your boat eventually if your boat isn't floating on the water. Remember carpet burns? Most bunks are covered with carpet and while gelcoat is not your skin, it's not resistant to abrasives at all. In the past year we've seen half a dozen boats with ruts dug into them from being blasted up onto semi-dry bunks.
Bass boats are the worst for this because most folks don't float the boats on, they get the trailer in far enough that they can just power the boat up onto it and get out without worrying about it coming off the trailer before they hook the front.
It costs between 3-10k to repair these ruts in the bottom of your boat. Some of the worst I've seen the bunks have gone atw through the glass layer into the foam core.
If you want your bottom to last, put your boat on the trailer floating like the way it came off. Leave the hotshotting to the guys that throw money at their boat till it's time to buy a new one.

BLUF: I had a new proctor that was not familiar with the GMAT testing procedures (specifically whiteboard usage) causing me to cancel my exam mid-exam during the first 20 minutes. She interrupted my exam multiple times during the first section because I was moving around too much while writing/erasing the whiteboard, and then during the last interruption, she asked me to position my laptop camera so that she can see the whiteboard as I am writing. I told her that that basically made zero sense as there is no way for me to move my camera and see the questions at the same time. Even though she checked the front and back during the check in.
I scheduled my exam for 8:00PM, began check-in at about 8:05, the proctor added me to a zoom meeting where she said she needed "2 minutes" to read through the exam because she was not familiar with it. She then placed me on hold.
At about 8:30, and almost 30 minutes (way more than two) and not getting a response, I left and tried to relaunch and was reassigned to the same proctor, where she answered, did not realize I was the same person, and again greeted me and said pls give me 2 minutes while I read the instructions.
At about 8:45, she finally started checking me in. At this point, I had been waiting for about 45 minutes in an empty room with my computer in a lockdown browser. I have testing anxiety and just sitting waiting for that long drove me insane.
Once she finally got me checked in (including making me scan my room almost 10 times because I was going to fast, not angling the camera so she can see everything, not doing a continuous circle, etc. after each scan she had another issue, made me move my desk to another side of the room because she said I couldn't be near another chair, amongst other things), she didn't realize she need the test code so she put me on hold again to get the code. Once, I finally went to start the exam and verify my name, the system crashed so I had to completely restart.
At this point, my anxiety/irritation is through the roof as it was 9:00PM and had been an entire hour.
FINALLY, once I am in the exam and begin, I start off with Quantative Reasoning as it is my strongest subject, and began using my whiteboard. She stopped my exam and asked me what I was doing because I was moving around too much. I never left my seat and said I was simply writing on the whiteboard. She said okay.
She then interrupted me again, and asked me to position my laptop camera so that she can see the whiteboard as I am writing on, which make absolutely no sense. Because of my frustration with her lateness, putting me on hold, and interrupting me multiple times, I asked if there is anyone I can have a different proctor or reschedule my exam.

It was summer. He needed money to pay for school next year. He decided to get a job. He needed to apply to different places. He first made a resume. He then made a cover letter. He walked around his neighborhood.

Ok, I don't have enough time to fully talk about this, but I just had an idea about Caine's origin, which I will entirely hold onto until proven otherwise. But, so that I don't forget about it, I'm posting it on here.
So, I ultimately think that, when we do see Caine's origin, it will be a direct modern parallel to the Cain and Abel story, as I feel like that in of itself could have so much potential - with Caine and his brother "Abil" being the owners and faces of a company who, in the 90s, decides to create a revolutionary form of digital reality that would become the Circus as we know it.
Caine would be in charge if growing and programming it like a farmer growing his crops, meanwhile Abil would be in charge of leading the company like a shepard leading a flock. However, as a result of this arrangement, Abil would receive much of the praise and credit from the board of directors.
So, out of jealousy and for not being given any of the credit, Caine would confront Abil and ultimately kill him after a dispute. However, in an attempt to cover it up, the Board of Directors would forcibly trap Caine inside of his own creation, then shutting down the project and, from then on, using the Amazing Digital Circus as a place where they'd trap unsavory employees or people against the company, meanwhile Caine and Abil were declared as accidental deaths with their younger brother Seth later being appointed as the new face of the company by the board, much like how Seth in Abrahamic Faith was suspected of being sent by God as a replacement for Abel.
(For those who don't know, in Abrahamic faith, Seth is the third son of Adam and Eve and was suspected by Eve as being a replacement for Abel sent by God)
It'd make sense for Pomni to have been part of the company at some point, given her reaction to seeing the desk with a computer while running through where the exit door lead. Also, given Caine's expertise in programming and power within the realm, it would make sense if he atleast lead in creating it. Plus, in the pilot, at one point we see the company logo for "C & A", which could very well stand for Caine and Abel (or Abil), which could hint at not just Abel's existence but also that Caine could have at one point been in charge of the company that created the Digital Circus.
But tell me, what are your thoughts?

Wife sells vinyl padded certificate covers with church etc names on them. She has an old machine (heat press) and sets up the letters. Clients want logo added, but she cannot. We looked online and found sellers that "print" logo and fonts in gold or silver on the cover, but we cannot find how they print on a 1" thick vinyl cover. They actuall say "not engraved or impressed" We looked at CriCut cutter and a Cricut Heat press thing and maybe it's do-able. Again, thank you for your time and pro-advice

Wow, where do I even start. First off, it's that weird time of year wherr tempatures are all over the place and my body ALWAYS runs hot; I always have a fan or cold air on me to compensate.

Zone 7b. 6,000sq ft of cool season in the back yard (with weeds) 2,000 sq fr of zoysia in the front lawn. I have owned this property for 5 years now but just decided I want the best damn lawn in the neighborhood. I realize this won’t happen in a season but it’s not in terrible shape as it is.
I’ve already treated the back yard with weed b gone to kill wild strawberries, violets, some creeping Charlie and a ton of clover. Going to do another dose of that in about a week. The front doesn’t need much help as it’s nice thick zoysia. I’ll be lowering the HOC this season and scalping heavily while dormant next season. Back yard is about 30-40% weeds and 2-3 types of grass… that is my main area of focus.
Getting a soil test asap but I already know I’m dealing with some heavy clay soil. This is the reason I plan on dressing with garden soil blend from a local landscape supply company (below)
Anyway, see below for a breakdown of my plans:
After weeds die:
Fill in large holes with top soil and compost.
Plant kgb/ fescue blend with 5% micro clover in those spots and bare spots from where the weeds were.
Cover with hay
Water daily
After seeds sprout, fertilize.

Fungus treatment for the front lawn
Grub control for the front lawn

Fertilize again

Fertilize towards the end of the month

Aerate back yard and clean up the cores
Mow low
Overseed with fescue/ kgb mix with 5% micro clover in back yard only.
Top dress with garden soil (30/70 blend of aged compost and screened top soil). (6yds) $330 for soil, $100 delivery. $430 total.
NEXT SPRING:
APRIL:
Pre emergent in the back yard.
Scalp the zoysia as low as possible and bag the clippings.
MAY:
Fertilizer back yard
Aerate front yard
Top dress with garden soil. (2yds) $140 for soil, $100 delivery. $240 total.

I said that a cover design did not represent the company well, I think the boss made it himself because he made fun of me by saying "is that so?", so why did you hire me in the first place? Do your own design. and many events like this happened so much. and endless update requests...
I didn't liked to sit in front of a pc and stand there whole day too.
I don't want to be graphic designer anymore, Other than art I love kitchen, maybe i can be a chef to be honest with you guys I don't know. But Im sure I want to keep design and art as a hobby

I don’t know if this is the right place to ask this question. My fiancés father owns a boat detailing company and has been doing it for 15 years. My fiancé has been learning to take over since he was 15, he’s now 23. My mom has a friend who wanted to sell her boat. And asked if my fiancés fathers company could detail it, before they sell
My fiancés dad sent my fiancé and another worker to go and do the boat. My mom’s friend made a mistake on length of the boat and work needed. But my fiancé honored the first price they gave her, even though they did more work. Additionally she did not pay when the work was done. It took her an additional week. Which was not mentioned to us until payment was about to be collected.
My fiancé took photos and sent her videos once done, she did not come look at the final result that day. She expressed happiness about the result and said thank you.
Now it’s been a month since my fiancé did her boat. She’s saying my fiancé or the other worker, did not zip up one of her flaps that covers the front of the boat. And one of the glass windows is cracked. She said it was due to all the rain that has happened. My fiancé apologized for not closing the flap. That they must have forgotten and that it was his mistake.
But she never went to look at the boat, one month after he completed the job! Commonly customers reach out within a week if they have issues with the detailing job. Then they fix it free of charge. The weather can’t be controlled by us. She is fully blaming him and writing reviews to slander the company. Even after she was satisfied with the detail work, we gave her a discount, and accepted late payment. What would you do in this case? Are we completely in the wrong?

Hey folks,
After a UK trip I thought it would be nice to actually try gardening in Ontario (Ottawa, to be specific). Nothing in particular, maybe some easy flowers that attract butterflies and/or resist mosquitos and give me an excuse to get some sun rather than sit in my basement all day :) MAYBE some herbs for cocktails but I don't want to expect too much yet.
My townhouse has a front garden bed, so all good there, but I have some questions about my back deck.
My back deck is raised about one storey, and faces south-east. Below my deck is a mostly unused lawn. I figure I have two, non-exclusive options:

1. Add small garden beds to my lawn. I think I would need small walls - nothing major, but at least a few inches, in order to keep the garden beds separated from the lawn itself. (I might be using the wrong terms here, but I'm imagining a garden wall of this size or even much lower)
2. Buy a few pots or a raised planter for my deck.

I'm open to either option but leaning towards #2 so that I don't have to go down the stairs in order to get to the garden. However, there is no room in my house for a raised planter or pots, so I'd need something that can survive the winter.
Soooo, with all of that context out of the way, I have two broad questions:
What are cheap pots or planters that are completely winter-safe? I need to be able to leave them outside during the winter. I can cover them but that's about it. I am not worried about maintaining a gorgeous aesthetic; as long as they don't look disastrously horrible they don't need to look good.
What is a cheap, durable way to build garden walls on a lawn? It doesn't need to be indestructible but it should be something I don't need to futz with a bunch once it's installed, and as mentioned, it needs to survive the winter.
(I know I wrote "cheap" many times and I'm not looking to drop like $1k here, but I probably should have written "reasonably affordable" since I don't know if this is a long-term hobby for me. I'm happy to pay for winter durability)
I'm happy to clarify if I've been confusing here, or if any of this is unreasonable that's also good to know!

So they got my son's DOB wrong on my passport. The application was fully online with digital photos. Birth certificate was sent off and a covering letter confirming all the details.
Somehow they still printed it with the wrong year.
The "fix" they've given me is to fill out a paper application and send that off with the incorrect passport, a cover letter and two new photos. I don't have photos, I did it all digitally and took photos on my phone.
Is this really the best fix? They made the error and printed a passport with incorrect details. Does anyone know if escalating a complaint can get a better fix where I just send the passport back? It seems mad to have to go to a snappy snaps just to fix their error. I did it online to avoid all this hassle.
