2024.06.04 03:47 Lovecoppe Convert BIN + CUE files to ISO

I'm try to convert the PSX version of WipEout 2097 which is currently in BIN CUE format. I want to change it to ISO format and run it with EmulationStation. How can I do this on an Android device as I don't have a PC?

2024.06.03 22:50 Chayes-- Silent Hill Emulation Probllems on Duckstation

I have 2 big issues which make the game practically unplayable.
  1. Whenever I open the inventory the in-game FPS spikes DRAMATICALLY, up to 250 fps. This results in a super long wait time just to access my inventory.
  2. The game crashes every time I die. I don't know the reason behind this one.
I can't find any similar problems reported anywhere and its driving me a little insane. I have tried running the game on standard settings, same problems come up. Same thing when I tried using a different ISO.
I'm able to run the game without problems on other PSX emulators but none of them offer the same options and ease of use that Duckstation does.
If anyone knows any fixes (or maybe a hidden FPS cap) please help me out!
EDIT: Literally just had to switch the renderer to Vulkan. Saving this here in case anyone like me goes crazy from this issue.

2024.06.03 05:09 Chris_TheGoldenH Looking for DBZ Raging Blast 2 ISO

So uhhh hi im new in this, so i unlocked my ps3 a month ago and one of the games that i always wanted to play was Raging Blast 2, but i can't seem to enjoy it quite properly, let me explain
There is a lot of videos with the game in PKG format, but the problem is that the game crashes when Teen Gohan (SSJ2) and Adult Gohan are selected, i wouldn't mind that much since i dont use the characters, but i wanted to 100% the game and that involves playing Adult Gohan's Galaxy mode, so big oof.
Is there a place where i could download it in ISO format? (Mediafire if possible 🙏) Because at least if it's a version without the crashes, i can load it in Irisman like i did with DBZ Burst Limit and Soul Calibur 4

TLDR: I feel let down by the amount of titles for the psp. I feel like it was a wasted opportunity. Wondering if I’m just jaded or if others agree
I feel like I have a problem. I’ve always been a huge emulator fan, since the early 2000’s with snes9x.
I’ve been steadily collecting every game I deem worthy, a lot of unreleased translated J-rpgs, some platformers (drill girl, and classics like mario and donkey kong), shooters, even some dating sims in the mix that I have yet to try.
With retro arch releasing on ios I was finally able to browse iso’s, a long untouched territory for me, mainly bc I grew up in the era of n64/psx/ps2, and with ps2 backwards emulation, i had a steady collection for the time.
I came across the psp iso internet archive, and is it just me or did we get jipped here? I feel like all of the best titles never hit US soil. In a way it was the blunders of the snes all over again. Am I missing something? I know we have a few original titles like mgs peacemaker, and some grainy armored core, but am I missing a chunk of games, or were most of the title just remastered re-releases?
Now I’m wondering if I’m just expecting too much. Have I hit the Pinnacle of mental illness? Did I stare into the abyss for too long? What are your takes on the psp collection?

2024.05.25 06:21 General-Frosting-672 PSP-FPKG problems

When using Jabu's PSP-FPKG tool to convert psp isos into ps4 packages, the program crashes no matter what I do.
I've tried on three computers and have tried multiple games, all lead to the program closing itself and not making a pkg file.
What could be the problem? I've tried doing what the dev Jabu said to try and fix it.

2024.05.22 08:08 Efficient_Notice_128 Easy Guide to PS2 games on HEN

I am going to make this as painless as possible for those who were new to ps2 emulation on Ps3hen. You should have no issues following this guide. You'll find a single download here containing all the packages you'll need: https://www.mediafire.com/file/6neasc2mofb8qnv/ps2aio-hen.7z/file
For prerequisites you're going to need:
-A ps3 with hen enabled.
-Fat32 USB Drive OR FTP device (this requires your phone/pc to be on the same network as your ps3).
WARNING: Games over 4gbs will have to be FTPd over as fat32 cannot store >4gb for each file.
-Visit a little site that rhymes with "Moe Claymation" and see if your game can be downloaded as a pkg/rap file (these are way easier to install than this method, however, some games aren't on there). To play these simply place the RAP file in the exdata folder under dev_hdd0. Place the pkg file in the folder named packages under dev_hdd0.
-A ps2 iso you want to play.
Good, now, download the AIO 7z file I put up at top. Extract it and place the pkgs in the root of your usb thumb drive. Simply install the packages through the package manager. MAKE SURE to run the webMAN installer, because when you install the package you're not actually installing the program, JUST the installer.
Now, transfer your PS2 ISO over to your usb thumb drive or start the FTP process. For FTP you will need a program like FileZilla for PC, OR Owlfiles for Android.
For FTP users, go into your program and add the IP of the ps3. You can find it by going into the network settings. After entering it in, you should see a bunch of folders. Go to the one named dev_hdd0, then in that folder should be one called PS2ISO. FTP your iso into that directory and you should be good for now.
For USB users, plug your drive into the right most usb port on your ps3 and then go into multiman. Select the file exploremmOS. Go to the icon titled root and you'll see a bunch of folders pop up. If your USB was formatted correctly and plugged into the right port, it should show up as something like dev_usb000. You'll know its the right one because it has an icon different from the rest of the folders. Open it and copy the ISO inside, then go back to the root. Open the folder named dev_hdd0 and proceed to the folder named PS2ISO. Copy your ISO file and you're good.
Great. Now we gotta encrypt that sunuvabitch.
Exit multiman, and open Apollo Save Tool.
Upon opening the application, you'll see a UI with a bunch of options, just press right until you see an option called "User Tools". Click that one. Scroll all the way down and you'll see an on option along the lines of "Encrypt ps2 iso from system storage". Simply press it and itll load up all the isos in your PS2ISO directory. Click on the one you want to install/play. It will encrypt the iso into a format a hen-console can play. After its done you will have a file named (whatever the name of the iso was)[Dot]BIN[Dot]ENC. For example: (Ps2 Game (US) (En,Fr,Aramaic).BIN.ENC)
Great. Now we have the ACTUAL playable game on our system. Exit Apollo. You can go into multiman and delete the iso if you want.
Finally, go into Webman and refesh the XMB and Games. You'll notice your game wont show up even after refeshing, this is fixed by just restarting the console. So don't freak out, just reboot the muthafucka.
Now, once your console is restarted, enable HEN and go to webMAN. There should be a folder called PS2 which holds your game. Tap on it and you should get a message in the top right corner saying your BIN.ENC file has been loaded. Then you'll see the ps2 classics placeholder logo pop up. Don't worry just click it. AND BOOM. You're now playing Freaky Fisters III or whatever it is you degenerates like to play.
FOR THOSE EXPERIENCING MEMORY CARD ISSUES, OR GAME ERRORS READ ON:
If you run into a memory card issue where the game isn't being detected, watch this short guide. It saved my ass: https://m.youtube.com/watch?si=eF62qxhMpBmSK8lK&v=TUYYD16Nh2U&feature=youtu.be
If you are experiencing a glitch in your PS2 game, go to this website: https://ps3.aldostools.org/ps2config.html
You'll see an option near the top that says CFW/HEN, click HEN. You are now seeing a list of encyrpted configs for HEN users. Search your game, and download the corresponding config file. Its a small download so don't worry. Rename it to the corresponding game you wanna patch. For example if your game is named "God of War.BIN.ENC" in the PS2ISO folder, then you'll need to rename it to "God of War.BIN.ENC.CONFIG". NOTE: This may not fix all glitches or bugs. Ps2 games are naturally hard to emulate so don't have a conniption if its not working.

2024.05.18 06:05 Educational_College6 No sure if this it normal or how to fix it.

So I recently modded my psp 3000, and I've been having some issues and Im not sure if they're normal or how to fix them. Some of my ISO dumps have these weird texture glitches on the xmb, and even after testing some ISO's online they still had this issue. I tried multiple ISO's, I tried finding PSN versions, and even tried converting them to eboots, same issues. In games like PaRappa the cut-scenes dont even load. I tried changing the ISO driver, that didnt work either.
Also, Im not sure if that weird screen glitch when loading things is normal either. However emulators, psx games, and homebrew all run fine, it's only the psp iso's.
I'm using a Japanese PSP 300, ProC 6.60 firmware.
Any help is appreciated!

2024.05.17 14:06 MalevolentPact RetroArch won’t index PSP games

I can play PSP ISO’s by pressing open and finding the folder they’re in
But it won’t index them in the app like it does for GBA and PSX etc.
Is it maybe because it would prefer cso format instead?

2024.05.17 12:45 eduo ROM Formats in general. CHD in particular (for PS and others)

As you move into more emulation you'll soon discover that BIOS are not the only thing to take into account. You also need to keep score of what formats are accepted by the various emulators you use and ensure your ROMs are in those formats.
Some consoles have seven or either different formats, and not all emulators support all. Not only this, but many support "ZIP" or "7Z" when selecting games, but then may uncompress and save the files individually in their own directory or keep the ZIP.
Your favorite emulator front-end (you're not usually installing emulators really, but rather installing iOS front-ends from standalone emulators that add the UI, hooks to the system and the like) will usually have a place where they list the files they support:
Delta: Importing Games Delta (deltaemulator.com)
Provenance: Formatting ROMs Provenance (provenance-emu.com)
Retroarch: Sony - PlayStation (Beetle PSX HW) - Libretro Docs
(Retroarch is a bit trickier, as you need to check per core, which shows you expected BIOS and ROM formats. You can also look this in the config menu for the core itself)
PPSSPP: How to get games for PPSSPP - PPSSPP
(officially supports ISO and CSO, but should also read ELF, PRX and PBP)
More and more, emulators are supporting CHD file format. It's a format originally developed by MAME that is very capable. Whenever an emulator supports CHD you would benefit from that, as it supports multidisc and compression. CHD is the best format for PS1 files, for example.
Tools exist to convert existing files to CHD, most of which rely on CHDMAN (the original MAME tool).
If you're on Windows you can use NAMCHD to convert bin/cue to CHD: umageddon/namDHC: Windows frontend for CHDMAN
If you're on Mac or Linux, you can install the command-line through your package manager (homebrew on mac, specifically). For linux a good front-end is TOCHD.
CHD are also ideal for multidisc games, as they can contain an .m3u "playlist" that ensures all disks are included.

2024.05.15 21:50 zedarecaida RetroArch first impressions

Pretty complex emulator, much more than Delta and PPSSPP. But that is also a good thing.
I will use strictly to play PSX games, so I already put my 3 bios files directly through the Files app from the iPhone: RetroArch > system.
I have already played:
But then I tried playing Jeanne D’Arc (PSP), to compare with it’s performance on PPSSPP (which ran perfectly), and it froze three times before entering the main menu. I don’t know why. You don’t even need bios for PSP and I used the .iso file. Maybe I will try another game later, but I will probably stick with PPSSPP for that.
If you have any questions, just ask. The first thread got flooded quickly and people’s doubt will never get answered.

2024.05.15 06:28 Economy_Ad2443 Gamma App. Am I screwed?

Gamma app only takes bin.cue files. The bin.cue files I have found on online archives are all in German. I understand that there is an ISO converter available online, however I don't have a PC to use it. Are there any workarounds or different resources that contain english versions of PSX games in bin.cue format, or am I just screwed when it comes to emulating on Gamma? I'm really trying, and I did my research so please try to avoid any hostility lol

2024.05.13 17:50 BrownBag-Special Final Fantasy 8, 9 & Metal Gear solid running choppy or not at all.

The last couple of months I’ve been trying to get these 3 titles to work better. Metal gear Solid & FF8 run, but very choppy, and FF9 gets to the point where you can first save and the Play starts and then crashes. It was suggested I try adding PSX Bios, I downloaded them yesterday and added them to the Bios folder on the card with the ISO’s on there, and it said the files already existed. I replaced them, and tried the 3 games, and no improvement. Any suggestions?

I just realized the other day, beyond the PS2 ISOs I haven't used the largeolder formats in forever? Can I just get rid of them or are there reasons (like the PS2 MC loader) to keep them?

Hi! I've got a PS3 Slim (CECH-2012A) running CFW 4.91.2 Evilnat Cobra 8.5 [PEX] [noBD] (the BD is completely dead, I suspect a faulty motherboard connection). I can't run PS3 games in ISO format, but I managed to install them alright in pkg format. However, when it comes to PSX games, it's not just bin files that fail to load, but also if I install them in pkg, they install alright but when I try launching the games, all I get is a black screen. Is this a known issue? Is there any workaround? Any help will be welcome! Thanks!
