I (48 divorced male) have been dating a wonderful lady (48 divorced female) for about 18 months (let's call her "HeckuvaCatch" or "HC" for short).
I have two grade school age kids. HeckuvaCatch has two high schoolers, one of whom has been medically diagnosed BPD (among some other issues) for years (let's call her "Betty").
Relationship is very serious.
Throughout our relationship, we have had very candid, frequent, and high quality communication about a # of serious things, including Betty's BPD.
Betty definitely affects the relationship, but has been relatively easily navigable, largely due to some seriously rock-star parenting / dating skills on part of HeckuvaCatch and very good comms between us. This applies to (1) HC and me, (2) Betty and me, and (3) the three of us.
I have some pretty serious concerns about introducing Betty to my two grade school kids, though.
HC and I have been very slow and deliberate w/ introducing our relationship to the kids' daily lives. My kids and HC's younger kid (none of whom have any mental health issues (so far)) have just met one another and hung out a few times within just the last couple months. My kids and Betty have never met (a deliberate choice by HC and me).
Betty is my first (known) exposure to BPD, so I am new to this and uneducated. Frankly, my gut reaction as a dad is to not let Betty and my kids interact, at all. HC and I have discussed that and she said that, (1) in my shoes she'd feel the same, (2) she sees the real negative impact Betty's situation has had on HER youngest, who can't be insulated from it, and wouldn't want that for my kids and (3) she doesn't have any great ideas, but hopes we can commit to trying to make it all work. The bottom line answer I have given her is that, re: (3), I am "all in" for doing whatever it takes...w/ one uncrossable red line: I can't knowingly hurt my kids for my relationship.
We're in mutual agreement that each of our highest priorities is to our own kids. But, boy, is this getting complicated and just blows at times.
Apologies for length....
I guess my questions are: (1) are my concerns overblown or founded; and (2) any thoughts on how to navigate?
I appreciate that individuals are unique, expressed BPD is unique, and a unique individuals unique BPD is uniqueness squared. But ANY thoughts would help a dad who wants to do right by his kids and a man who also wants to do right by HC and Betty.

As title says. I'm a student in my undergrad currently, and after I get my MSF I'm planning to go into banking, but I'm really interested in committing myself to Texas. The thing is, I'm having a really hard time finding connections or information online that gives me a good outlook on what to expect down there, and I'm throwing one out into the sea here hoping to catch someone who would be willing to answer a few of my questions and give me their opinions/perspectives. If that's you and if you're willing, I'd really appreciate it.

We have a new hire (about two months now) in our department D28 that I do not vibe with. This is also a rant-ish post so I don't give much sht for the grammar use. I apologize.
To start, I have a pretty nice relationship with most of our department even though I am a new hire myself. But two months ago, we got a new hire with a bossy attitude for someone so young. I don't mind bossy people, sometimes I am one myself if I am stressed, but I apologize when I know I sound like one since I am not a boss... but this one has a vibe that is not vibin'.
They mostly work as associate and recovery (for the last hour of the store) but their recovery is not recovering unless our DH is working closing.
Memorial Day had been a triggering day in this cold war. I was at the mulch pit area helping a customer load mulch and soil up, and I have a clear view of the garden center gate where they stand. I cannot get an extension, but I guess they got a call/intercom for wheat straw. Again, I can see where they are STANDING, and has been for the past 5-ish minutes while I'm loading up the customer. A few seconds pass, and I got a walkie call asking me if I can get a wheat straw for a customer because "We are helping a customer load something up." By "we," I believe they mean another associate who went to the pit to get some soil for a customer, the associate I am now helping since I just finished loading the last car, who heard the walkie and said, "I'll get the straw, can you load this for her (the customer in the car now behind me — and no, the associate I have beef with is nowhere to be seen)?" to which I gladly said, "yes" and ignored the walkie call. I said I believe since there was no other car (except in lumber area) that ever pulled up apart from the one who needed soil.
Do they assume I don't work unless I can get a call from SD or Cashiers or managers? (Read: Do they assume I am like them?)
Not the first time this happened. A month ago, I was helping a customer with another D28 associate, and I needed to spot them. Obviously, a work that needs two people. Like this time, they walkied me to ask if I can help a customer with a locked item because they were busy (I later learned from SD that there were three of them waiting for a customer to pull up and just chatting around when the call came, and SD cashier just happened to walk past them on the way to curbside). Anywoooo, since this time they were one month new, I was about to say "yes but give us 5 minutes" when my reach driver said "give me the phone" and answered the walkie with "we're currently busy helping customers in this area now, we cannot go there" and press leave call.
Not also the second time. About a week ago, they walkied me to tell me that a customer needs help. I know they are not walkie-ing the whole department since they call me by name. Another D28 associate (different from the past two cases) and a key-holder (who we called to open a gate) were with me and heard the call, and they both looked like "was that seriously a call?" with the associate going "DID [THEY] JUST TELL YOU TO FUCKING GO BACK INSIDE WHEN YOU'RE HELPING A CUSTOMER OUT HERE?" Anyway, I ignored that walkie, too. They can complain to someone I am ignoring their calls, but I don't care. I am doing my job and working and everyone (including them) knows it.
SD and other associates are not the only ones saying this to me, too. Garden cashiers would complain about how some people (they're also not naming names but the clues about their attire for that day was a given) would just walk around in their personal phone and they could see them and hear their phone ringing, and they just keep walking and ignoring the call. Told me they shouldn't get an extension if they won't bother using it.
The way they would say it, too, is as I've said at the beginning... very bossy.
I'm very petty, so when others in my department or the whole store would walkie me or call me to ask if I can help, I would happily answer with yes and to give me some minutes as I am with a customer, etc, etc. But when it's them... I straight up ignore it. I love garden department, and our managers and DHs are chill, and I don't mind if they ask me to do things for the day. It's chaotic, it's so large, but that means no boring day.
Oh, and I haven't expounded on their work like going to 15-minute break three to four times a day excluding their lunch. Hiding in the aisle when the store is busy. Not packing down. Walking down aisles that definitely needs front-facing and just looking around.
And this pisses me off: getting at least 32 hours per week being like this. IN SPRING. IN D28. I don't know, but I do hope they are temporary.
To end this: any tips to become more petty?

I am currently filling out a claim on the jobs4TN.gov site, and just reached this "Voluntary Disclosure" section - although the description at the top states that "These questions are for reporting purposes only and do not impact your eligibility", in actuality, would any of the questions in this section have any sort of impact on how much benefits payment I would be eligible to receive? (based in Tennessee, that is?)
These relevant questions include:
1: "What is your gender?"
2: "What is your race?"
3: "What is your ethnicity?"
4: "Are you a veteran?"
5: "Are you disabled?"
6: "Are you currently homeless?" (only Yes/No options)
"Have you been arrested/convicted of a crime? If so, you may be eligible for additional support services and programs."
"Have you registered for Selective Service?" (only Yes/No/Documented Exemption options)
If I was to answer Male, White, & Not Hispanic or Latino for the first 3 questions, would this have any kind of potentially negative impact on how much compensation I am to receive (at least when compared to if I selected a different answer besides "White" , and/or selecting "Hispanic or Latino", for instance) and how much financial compensation I would be eligible to receive?
Would choosing "I do not wish to answer" for these questions (at least the first 3) instead be a better option? And what is the importance of each question in regards to this section's impact on my potential benefits compensation? (Or do they all matter equally, or not matter much at all, really..?)
But overall, would there be any potential for a difference in payout based on one's answers here, given the current political climate, DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion)-conscious businesses/corporations/departments, etc. that would result in higher compensation perhaps if I didn't truthfully answer to being a "White Male" so to speak? Lol.
Ultimately, I am just trying to find out if I should provide the answers Male, White, Not Hispanic or Latino, No (not a veteran), No (not disabled), No (arrested/convicted of a crime), Yes (registered for Selective Service),
OR if I should use the "I do not wish to answer" option instead, and on what questions would this be BEST to use this answer as a substitute?
Should I maybe just say "I do not wish to answer” for those first 3 questions regarding GendeRace/Ethnicity, and more accurately answer "No" for the veteran and disabled questions? Would selecting "I do not wish to answer" be more beneficial of a selected answer on these first 3 questions - would they have any positive impact on how much compensation I’d receive? Do you think using this answer matters less on the next questions asking if I'm a veteran, disabled, or convicted criminal?
Regarding the "Have you ever been arrested/convicted of a crime" question, what would be the optimal choice? You would assume "No" would clearly be the best answer if applicable, but the statement next to the question saying "If so, you may be eligible for additional support services and programs" makes me think otherwise perhaps...
And I have a rather unique situation regarding this one.
Basically, I was convicted several years ago for marijuana / paraphernalia possession charges, and have since had these charges expunged from my now-clean record back in February; so they technically should not be on my record anymore, and I can now lawfully answer "No" now for any "past convictions/arrests" questions I encounter, like this one here in this claim. Wondering what the best answer to choose is for this one: Yes, No, or I do not wish to answer?

Species: pitbull/australian cattle dog/lab mix Age: 3 Sex: male neutered Breed: same as above Body weight: 60 lbs History: dog has had Giardia in the past about five months ago. New onset of diarrhea within the last 36 hours with stool becoming progressively softer with each bowel movement. Dog had diarrhea four days ago with a tinge of blood but symptoms improved. Energy levels remain unaffected until yesterday. We took the dog to the vet this afternoon and they took a stool sample and gave him a bolus of IV fluids. They also got him on metronidazole 250 mg every 12 hrs and Fenbendazole.
The first time he had Giardia, he never had blood . We have been feeding him chicken and rice and he has had about one cup of food. Last movement was six hours prior to current one. Current movement was liquid brown with yellow bile and spots of mucousy blood. The blood wasn’t substantial, but definitely noticeable.
Clinical signs: lethargy noted as of this afternoon, but unknown if it is related to medication. Aside from that energy levels have been unaffected. Waiting on lab results for stool sample.
Duration: 36 hours ago, diarrhea began. Blood happened 30 minutes ago.

I'm(24) planning to take my lady(22) to San Diego for a 3 day 2 night weekend stay after her graduation mid June. Among the other things, I was planning to take her baclub hopping on Sat night in downtown. We've never explored SD city.
She really likes clubs, dancing, RnB and Reggaeton. So we'll probably start at a bar, but the goal is to do mostly clubs/settle at a good one. Her usual spots are gay bars/clubs in West Hollywood, and she mentioned that a "plus" in those areas is she doesn't get unwanted male attention or creeps because people are really respectful no matter how she dresses. A place with a lot of dancing, music she likes, and minimal weirdos would be ideal.
I've done some research across various websites and reddit for the best clubs in SD, and found a couple of repeat club names. In order : Sidebar, Parq, Bang Bang, Onyx, Nova, Bloom, Sevilla.
I know some of these have cover fees up to 30$, so realistically we wouldn't hit all the clubs. I'm also aware of the SD club crawl, and the 2 clubs they'd take u that Sat are Bloom and Parq, so it might be worth it depending on what yall say.
Anyway, so I'm wondering if these clubs are at the top of these lists because they're actually good, or if it's just the hype. Aka - do the locals have different opinions?
What do yall recommend for first-timers in GasLamp? (Any gay club recommendations in SD in general would be appreciated too)

Hi all,
Our 10+ year old Olde English Bulldog has developed another toe tumor, the second in 2-3 months. The first one was removed, and he did well in recovery because it was a non-weight-bearing toe. It was an urgent removal because, after two weeks of clindamycin, gabapentin, CBD, and galliprant, he licked it so much it burst open. The biopsy came back okay enough for us to go into wait-and-watch mode, and he'd been fine until the past few weeks. Blood work was also normal.
It's started again, but this time on the second from the innermost toe on his back R paw. When we first saw it, our vet aspirated the toe which was mostly WBC with a random other cell (I'm blanking on the name), chest x-ray was clear, and for the ultrasound, there were a few teeny tiny spots on his spleen that we need to keep an eye on.
We just finished up another two weeks of antibiotics but it's still growing, and he's still obsessively licking despite all the meds. As the title says, he's only got three legs--his front right leg was amputated 4 years ago when he was diagnosed with chondrosarcoma. I spoke with the vet today after noticing it's gotten significantly worse from two weeks ago, and we had the "big decision" talk of surgery or euthanasia.
At this point, his QOL seems fine. Still eating and drinking, and has bursts of energy followed by lots of couch sleeping. You can tell when he's feeling achy and arthritic, but for the most part, he's too stubborn to care. This is why I'm conflicted.
What brings me here is wanting to know with his old man mobility plus being a front-leg amputee, how bad would recovery be from losing a weight-bearing toe? Here are his details:

Why am' I doing this? Short answer, lack of anyone to talk to. Most will probably say or at least think something along the lines of. You have no one to blame but yourself. Truth is you are right. I do have a choice.
With that said. I am a 48 year old straight male cd. The thing is my friends, family and coworkers do not know and would not be understanding. To be honest I don't have many friends and could do without them. I don't really care what my coworkers think but It would make my job harder. I have to work with people outside the company that I have heard make comments about other people. So I know they wouldn't be happy about it. It's my family that I couldn't stand to lose. They would most likely disown me but even if they didn't I couldn't stand to see the pain in their eyes when they saw me. The sad thing is my friends, family and coworkers like me now and nothing would change.
Also it makes it almost impossible for me to have a relationship. Even if I can find a woman who not only accepts what I do but is willing to date me. I would have to tell them from the beginning. Which is hard to do because I have to trust that they would tell noone, before I really got to know them. Then if I do find someone and then it ends on bad terms. They could tell everyone.
So I guess your thinking easy just stop. Could I stop? Yes, but let me ask you something. These things may not keep you from a relationship but I hope you see what I am saying here. Are you a golfer, hunter, fisherman,reader, or gamer? Do you want to give it up? My thing isn't really a hobby or something I do for fun. It's a way of life. I have more confidence and I feel whole more at peace with myself when I am dressed. So I can give it up but I would also be giving up a part of myself.
I know most people look down on people like me. So I don't expect a lot of encouragement. Just please be respectful. Thank you

Routine Help
Hi I have a bunch of products that I end up using for a few days and forgetting about. I want to establish a solid routine so I can follow through, but am not sure if the order is correct.
I pick my skin and though I don’t have active acne, I find little bumps that I pick and it is terrible…im trying to even out my skin tone by fading the hyperpigmentation from scars. I also have pretty noticeable sebum (whiteheads?) on my nose. My biggest problem is flaking skin from the healing spots. I misread the instructions on the Paula’s Choice BHA exfoliator once and ended up destroying my skin barrier - hence stopped all actives for about a year, and pared down my products to simple, hydrating ingredients. That helped me heal but I’m ready to try actives again!
I’m 31 and use nicotine vapes (trying to quit) and up to now never noticed any wrinkles or signs of aging, but I want to be preemptive and am starting to lean towards rets.

l really wanted to ask this thing here that I was thinking about for a couple of weeks now, I assume most of you here are familiar with the man vs bear thing that's been going on in every social media, and the whole "all men are gRapists", So I wanted to ask do any of you guys believe that in maybe 10 or 20 years from now the government or any other organization or radical feminism ideology will actually force young male students in schools to take pills to lower their libido so "they don't turn out to be gRapists in the future"? I mean I know it's kinda crazy but... If this anti male hatred continues and with the radical feminism agenda being pushed by the government and social media, and society as a whole I really don't think it's ENTIRELY impossible to see something like this happen, I mean obviously it's not gonna be exactly like how I described it but like some sort of suppressing men, because I also read an article about a really big political member from the UK that tried to pass a legislation that said men should have a curfew for specific hours of the day so women can feel safe, obviously it didn't pass, but I'm genuinely starting to worry about these types of things, so what do u guys believe?

I’m SO CLOSE to planting my newest native beds but I’m stumped on the sociability level of some species I want to include. There don’t seem to be any lists online ranking species from very well-behaved to very aggressive spreaders. That got me thinking… maybe we could collectively come together and share a tentative ranking?
In short, plant sociability was studied by Richard Hansen and Friedrich Stahl and they apparently published a list in their (now out of print and virtually impossible to find?) book Perennials and Their Garden Habitats:

• 1: behaved, grows singly
• 2: grouped or tufted, creeps a little
• 3: small patches, spreads moderately but won’t take over
• 4: large patches, spreads liberally but coexists with other species
• 5: great crowds or pure populations, dominates an area

I know from experience some rankings. Like that Baptisia spp are typically a 1 while Canada Goldenrod are a 5. But I’m really limited in my knowledge, considering how many natives there are out there.
Which brings me here. Since there are so many experienced gardeners and native plant enthusiasts in this subreddit, I thought you might all want to share your personal observations and conclusions?
To be clear, I know there are no straightforward answers. Plants behave differently under different conditions — stick a cup plant in shade or cattails in a dry spot and they won’t spread like crazy. So maybe we could consider some middle ground, like part-to-full sun and medium-moisture clay soils for mixed grass prairies in the central Great Plains?
Open to any comments, thoughts and feedback! And more than happy to read through any indexes/plant lists you’ve come across, so please share those resources if you can, too!

For example, I had a bad depressive episode last summer, I took a break from therapy for a month until I was sure I felt better and was able to compose myself in front of my therapist. In November we did some sort of trauma therapy that plunged me right into the next and worse depressive episode where I acted out and "threatened" to quit therapy altogether but since I started feeling suicidal I was scared to actually go. But I didn't talk about any of this, I was too busy being hostile and mad at her for reasons I'm not even sure are valid. After the Christmas break I felt better again but waited another 3 months to tell her about SI and as soon as I did, I came back the week after being hostile and unable to talk to her altogether. I could feel that she was getting a bit annoyed at me since she was trying to be nice to me but I keep fending her off.
I am now abroad and we actually had a very helpful session before I left. I again said that as soon as I leave the country, I want to stop therapy altogether. She told me that she would very much like to stay my therapist and that she still sees a lot of potential of me profiting from therapy. That offer made me feel good and I was able to reflect that I should just accept the help and her friendliness.
We have talked on the phone once already and I was in a very good mood. But this has drastically changed in a short amount of time and I feel like my old self again. I will have to talk to her next week and I'm again contemplating to just quit. I just don't want to talk with her about any of this and I really do want to quit and just accept that this is the way things are for me and I'll learn how to deal with it on my own.
I just don't know what to do anymore. Concerning the avoidance of people when I feel bad hasn't gotten better at all, I'd even say it's gotten more painful ever since I've started therapy. It's been over a year! Im realising now that this might be more of a rant than an actual question but I can already see what's going to happen next week. I will barely be talking while she will either say nothing either or will try to at least strike up small-talk which I won't be able to answer to. And it's such a waste of time for both her and me! It might just be better to give up my spot to someone who would actually participate. I don't understand why she kept insisting of me continuing and I am waiting for her almost to draw the line herself and tell me it's no use anymore.

Just lost my 10 year old German shepherd mix today she was the sweetest dog ever. She suffered from chronic ear infections and loved to swim especially around this time of year every time I let her outside to the back yard she would always jump in the pool.she hated the vet very much 😂 like most German shepherds but wouldn’t try to bite just growl at the vet. Today was just like any other day I let my dogs out to go to the bathroom and get some sun and I’ll leave them out there for a hour or 2 so they tire themselves out before dinner and I had a feeling after a hour or so and I just brush it off and answered a phone call and got distracted and ignored the feeling after wards that feeling came again and I went outside and called my dogs in and my male dog came inside but my sweet lulu didn’t come I thought she was probably napping by the pool or her usual outdoor napping stops but nothing then I found her tucked between the shed and garden beds breathing very slowly and her stomach was bloated and very hard then the panic set in I tried to get her to move but she wouldn’t she gave me a couple of kisses and she had this look in her eyes I called my family out and I called the vet in a panic all while I’ll was getting ready to take her my aunt was comforting my lulu and she said it’s ok sweet girl if it’s to painful you can go and my sweet lulu took her final breath in my aunts arms. If I just gone outside the first time maybe just maybe she still be here

I really haven't thought much about it until today because I was preoccupied with another injury from last Friday (slept wrong, and my neck's been killing me the past few days)
It hurts pretty bad to the touch, but otherwise, it's fine. I google'd the issue today, and what I'm reading (pertaining to gangrene) sounds extreme/scary but from the pictures I've seen of gangrene, this doesn't resemble it. Does anyone know what this is?
Also, there's no discharge/pus, just the swollen red spot, with the weird looking green patch, which has gotten larger each day.

Lord Daemon Velaryon, the admiral of the royal fleet, was the first of the great lords to forsake Maegor, taking the royal fleet with him, and many other lords followed his example. The great houses of Lannister, Tyrell, and Arryn came out against Maegor and in the riverlands House Tully gave support to Septon Moon and Ser Joffrey Doggett, the leaders of the Poor Fellows.
Maegor called his banners in response, but few answered, giving Maegor an army of barely four thousand soldiers. Despite this, Maegor refused to surrender. At the end of the war council, Maegor remained behind alone in the throne room to brood. He was found dead the next morning by Queen Elinor, seated on the Iron Throne with his robes covered in blood and his wrists slashed. A spike from one of the swords on the throne behind him was impaled through the back of his neck. How Maegor died was never discovered. Some say he had been killed by Queen Elinor, others that he had been killed by a knight of his own Kingsguard. Yet others say he had been killed by a builder who escaped the slaughter three years earlier and desired revenge, and many believe that Maegor had been killed by the throne itself. Others believe that Maegor killed himself by opening his wrists on the blades of the Iron Throne.

Owen Bush was a knight of the Kingsguard during the reign of King Maegor I Targaryen. When Maegor suspected Queen Tyanna of the Tower of betrayal, he had Owen and his sworn brother, Ser Maladon Moore, bring her to the dungeons, where she confessed.
Maegor the Cruel gradually lost political support, resulting in a rival threat in his nephew, Prince Jaehaerys Targaryen. Two of his Kingsguard defected to Jaehaerys, and Maegor lost a third guard when Owen was found dead outside a brothel in 48 AC, his member cut off and stuffed in his mouth.
Maladon Moore was a knight from House Moore and a member of the Kingsguard during the reign of King Maegor I Targaryen. When the king suspected Queen Tyanna of the Tower of treason, Maladon and Owen were dispatched to seize the queen and deliver her to the dungeons, where Maegor was said to have slain her while Maladon was present.
After Maegor died in 48 AC and his nephew King Jaehaerys I Targaryen took the Iron Throne, Maladon was accused of being involved in the death of Queen Ceryse, allegedly restraining her when Ser Owen accidentally killed her. Maladon denied these charges, insisting she died of "shrewishness". While the charges were never proven, Maladon lost his head for his involvement in Queen Tyanna's death, of which he was guilty.
When Queen Tyanna of the Tower admitted to poisoning Queen Alys Harroway during her pregnancy, Tyanna promised the same would happen to Elinor. Tyanna was proven correct when Elinor gave birth to a stillborn abomination said to have been born eyeless and with small wings. Elinor was one of the two wives who survived the king, the other being Queen Rhaena Targaryen.
After King Maegor's death, Lord Daemon Velaryon proposed that King Jaehaerys I Targaryen marry Queen Elinor to reconcile with Maegor's supporters when a bride was being considered for the king, but nothing came of the proposal. After Jaehaerys's ascent, Elinor departed King's Landing dressed in the robes of a penitent. She visited her two elder sons at the Eyrie and Highgarden before retiring to her father's seat at the Three Towers with her youngest son.
Later, King Jaehaerys commanded Elinor to go forth and spread his Doctrine of Exceptionalism to the peoples of the Seven Kingdoms, as well as the goodness of Jaehaerys and Alysanne, becoming one of the Seven Speakers. Her queenly raiment became shabbier and more threadbare each day, and she eventually gave up all claims to nobility, becoming Mother Elinor at the great motherhouse in Lannisport.
House Rosby was one of the first houses to yield peacefully to House Targaryen during Aegon's Conquest, surrendering to Rhaenys Targaryen and Meraxes. The Rosby lands became part of the crownlands surrounding King's Landing. Lord Jon Rosby was named Warden of the Sands by King Aegon I Targaryen during the First Dornish War, but Jon was killed in the Defenestration of Sunspear.
Ser Rayford Rosby defended King Maegor I Targaryen during his trial of seven, but Rayford was slain during the fighting. Lord Rosby remained loyal to the king even as his downfall became certain, and was one of the last to see the king alive. In the chaos that followed the discovery of Maegor's body, Lord Rosby drank a cup of hemlock to join his king in death. His young son received forgiveness from King Jaehaerys I Targaryen at Dragonstone.
In 47 AC, King Maegor was dealing with the issue of his lack of heirs, despite having already married three women. Lord Daemon Velaryon, Rhaena's uncle and a member of Maegor's small council, advised Maegor to wed Rhaena, to unite their claims and prevent new rebellions, and to gain her as a hostage against any potential schemes of Dowager Queen Alyssa. Later that year, Maegor summoned Rhaena to King's Landing, and she did not defy him. At the Red Keep, Maegor married Rhaena in a triple ceremony, together with Elinor Costayne and Jeyne Westerling. As the three women were all widows of men Maegor had killed, they became known as the "Black Brides". Immediately following the wedding, Maegor declared Rhaena's elder daughter Aerea as his heir until he had sons of his own, while disinheriting Rhaena's youngest brother Jaehaerys in the same decree.
After Maegor’s death, discussion arose as to who had the better claim to the Iron Throne. There were some who suggested that Rhaena's claim, as the firstborn child of King Aenys I Targaryen and Queen Alyssa Velaryon, was the strongest. Her gender argued against her, however, and Rhaena herself had come to loathe King's Landing and its court. The claims of her daughters were argued for as well. If Maegor was to be considered a usurper, the true king would have been Rhaena's first husband, Aegon, who had claimed the throne before Jaehaerys had. As such, some suggested the throne should pass to one of his daughters by Rhaena, Aerea or Rhaella.
As time passed, Rhaena began to resent the fact that her claim to the throne, and that of her daughters, had been dismissed in favor of Jaehaerys, to whom she began to refer as "my baby brother". In addition, Rhaena begrudged her mother for promoting Jaehaerys's claim over her own.
Ser Walton Towers was granted Harrenhal by King Maegor I Targaryen in 44 AC after winning a melee in Lord Harroway's Town, but Walton died soon after from his wounds. Harrenhal thus passed to his eldest son. Lord Jordan remained loyal to Maegor during the king's wars, and Lord Rosby were the last to see the king alive before Maegor's death on the Iron Throne. Along with Lords Darklyn and Staunton, Jordan yielded the Red Keep to Prince Jaehaerys, Princess Rhaena, and Princess Alysanne Targaryen. The three lords were sent to the black cells, but were eventually pardoned by King Jaehaerys I after surrendering some of their land.
Jordan eventually died of a chest congestion. Harrenhal passed to Jordan's last surviving son, Maegor Towers, as Jordan's older sons had all died fighting for King Maegor.
Maegor's father, Lord Jordan Towers, was one of the last lords of the Seven Kingdoms who remained loyal to King Maegor I Targaryen. All of Jordan's sons died fighting in the king's wars, with the exception of young Maegor.
Maegor became Lord Towers after the death of his father due to a chest congestion. When King Jaehaerys I Targaryen began a royal progress in 53 AC to celebrate the new year, his first stop was to see the new Lord of Harrenhal, then only nine years of age.
Maegor was an impoverished lord who resided in the Tower of Dread with only a cook and three men-at-arms. Since the rest of Harrenhal was empty, King Jaehaerys settled his widowed sister, Rhaena Targaryen, in the Widow's Tower in 56 AC. Maegor and Rhaena eventually became friends, and she cared for his servants after Maegor passed away in 61 AC. Harrenhal was granted to House Strong after Rhaena passed away in 73 AC.
Maegor was sickly and poor.

Demagogues are political leaders who seek support by appealing to the desires and prejudices of ordinary people rather than by using rational argument.
Modern demagogues include Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, Huey Long, Father Coughlin, and Joseph McCarthy, all of whom built mass followings the same way that Cleon did: by exciting the passions of the masses against customs and norms of the aristocratic elites of their times.

This is why Maegor and Socrates died. They challenged authority and lost. They were silenced by the powerful lords and by the elected council of Athens whom were given power by the common people.

King Maegor had married all his brides and gave them Queenly status.

Jeyne was married to Lord Alyn Tarbeck. She was widowed when Alyn died during the Battle Beneath the Gods Eye in 43 AC. Jeyne was pregnant when her husband died, and gave him a posthumous son a few months later.

In 47 AC, Jeyne was being courted by a younger son of Lyman Lannister, the Lord of Casterly Rock, when King Maegor I Targaryen sent for her to be wed to him. She married Maegor in a ceremony at King's Landing, along with Lady Elinor Costayne and Princess Rhaena Targaryen. After the wedding, Queen Jeyne's son was confirmed as Lord of Tarbeck Hall, and sent to Casterly Rock to be raised as a ward of Lyman Lannister.

Lord Edwell Celtigar, the Hand of the King, announced half a year after the wedding that Queen Jeyne was pregnant, and Queen Elinor's pregnancy was announced shortly afterwards. Maegor, joyful, showered both his wives with gifts and honors, and granted new lands and offices to their fathers, brothers, and uncles. Unfortunately, Jeyne's labor began three months early, and she gave birth to a stillborn child, monstrous, lacking arms and legs but possessing both male and female genitalia. Jeyne herself died soon after.

In 48 AC, Tyanna of the Tower confessed to having poisoned Jeyne's child in the womb.

Maegor had sent the young son of his fourth wife (Jeyne Westerling) as a ward(hostage) to House Lannister. Then he sent the two eldest sons of his sixth wife (Elinor Costayne) as wards(hostages) to House Tyrell and House Arryn. When the great houses rebelled, Lord Daemon Velaryon, the brother of Alyssa Velaryon, escaped with the Royal Fleet and left King’s Landing.
Maegor called his banners to fight against the threat but they were too few and Elinor Costayne begged him to surrender to save her two eldest sons and the son of the long deceased Jeyne Westerling. He banned her from the council room and refused to surrender and his lords and him and Rhaena made battle plans well into the night.
At the end of the war council, Maegor dismissed everyone and stayed alone in the throne room to brood.
The following morning, Elinor Costayne found the King dead, his wrists slashed and throat impaled on the back of the Iron Throne.
Lord Rosby was one of the last people to see his king alive and drank a cup of hemlock to follow him in death.

I believe the article was deleted because it was littered with negative comments. I'm not sure if they are Japanese because they used English profile names and they commented in English. The article is very recent so it seemed unusual to delete it for housekeeping. Also, Japan Today is a Tokyo-based online newspaper. So this must be the Chrysanthemum Taboo phenomenon.
According to Wikipedia: "The chrysanthemum taboo is the Japanese social taboo against discussion or criticism of the Emperor of Japan and his family, especially Emperor Hirohito/Showa (1901–1989)."

It seems like people are not only talking about the Imperial Family, they also openly talk about members they like and don't like.
But this does not extend to Japanese pop culture. They barely mention the Emperor of Japan or his family. Most of it was indirect. Known examples:

1. In the anime Gate - Thus the JSDF Fought There! (2015) - The Emperor was hinted to allow the evacuation of civilians to the Imperial Palace.
2. In Sword Art Online (2012) - Kirito and Asuna were talking about the Imperial Palace's digital services being separate from the rest of the internet.

Weirdly, I can identify specific three older Japanese animation movies where the Emperor was directly mentioned:

1. In Hayao Miyazaki's Grave of the Fireflies (1998): A soldier committing seppuku cried out "Tenno Heika Banzai!" (Long live the Emperor!).
2. Memories (1995) - In the second part of the anthology, "Stink Bomb" mentions the Emperor refusing to leave Tokyo despite the mass evacuation of citizens.
3. A late 90s/early 2000s anime about the romance between then-Crown Prince Naruhito and Princess Masako. I forgot the name.

In criticism of the monarchy, I know an Australian journalist wrote a book detailing the difficulties Empress Masako experienced when she was Crown Princess. Japan managed to control its release in their country, with the help of nationalists who harassed publication houses, but they failed to control/persuade the author. It helps that he is a foreigner.
A political breach of taboo could be the end of a person's public service. In Post-war Japan history, I read about ministerial resignations caused by leaking Emperor Hirohito's opinions on sensitive issues, usually related to foreign and military affairs.
After the 3/11 tsunami, Diet member Taro Yamamoto gave a letter to Emperor Akihito about the plights of the victims. Politicians demanded his resignation. He likely heard some things from crazy nationalists. But today, he is still a Diet member.
So the Japanese people do talk about the monarchy. The extent of their opinions on the Japanese monarchy is mostly limited to news and gossip and written in Japanese so foreigners do not immediately notice the discourse around them. Anything more than that, like publishing critical deep-dives on the monarchy, references in fiction, and fictional portrayal, is rarely done and prone to attacks from nationalists. But breaking the taboo isn't as serious as it was during the Showa period. What do you think?

Hello! I am not a competitive bodybuilder but I am really into fitness and train in that style and it has always interested me. I have a few friends (male and female) who have competed in bodybuilding competitions and I was wondering if that would be a sin? Yeah, yeah, I know, been a while. My job basically forces me to be nocturnal, otherwise I promise I’d be less non-existent. I’m not completely anti-social, I just… sleep while everyone else is doing things.
{apologetic} I- yeah, okay, so. Ohh, this is gonna sound terrible. This is gonna sound bad.

Look, normally I’d never ask this, because we don’t even know each other, obviously, but I accidentally locked myself out of my house, and I don’t know anyone else on the street either, and, well, I remembered you being friendly that time that we did meet, and it’s really cold out and I don’t want to try to sleep in my car, and-

I really am sorry about this, I promise it’s not how I wanted the night to go. It’s just hard to stay on my guard about things like that when I’m here. This place relaxes me, you feel more like home than anywhere I’ve ever lived has. My tongue tends to slip. I’m sure you understand.
Ah, I should explain. I suppose I don’t have to, you won’t remember anyway, but you do deserve to know what’s happening. I come over here… rather a lot. I always use some variant of the “poor, lost innocent” act, and it works every time. You let me in, and you start trying to take care of me, and you’re always so protective and sweet… it’s nice. The first few times, I was annoyed. I thought your kindness was just weakness, or worse, that you were only being kind because you wanted something. I didn’t even realize how hypocritical I was being, can you believe that? But it’s true. It took more weeks than I’d like to admit to realize how good it felt, having you want to take care of me. Once I did, I started coming by more often, staying longer, trying to get to know you better in the time that we had. I started looking forward to getting to take a load off with you more and more, too. It’s gotten to the point where staying with you is the brightest spot in my week. This house has become my little home-away-from-home, my sanctuary from all my problems. And you’re what makes it that, so thank you.
Oy, all of that, and you’re probably more confused than when I started. I suppose I’ve danced around the relevant point. {hesitant} I- uh. Well, I’m- Well, there’s no easy way to say it. I’m a vampire, and at the end of every night, I feed on you and remove your memories of me.
{reassuring} No, no, keep calm. I can feel your heart rate increasing, there’s no need for it to. I’m not here to hurt you, I promise. I haven’t hurt you any time before, and I don’t plan to start now. I would never.
I’m only here for a tiny bit of blood, just a taste, really. You won’t even notice the loss. Well, okay, you might notice it a little. You’ll probably feel kind of weak in the morning, but the marks will have faded away completely, and the bite won’t even hurt. We’ve done this dozens of times by now, and I promise, the worst you’ve felt is a little woozy.
I think it’ll even feel good. You’ve definitely seemed happy with the feeling before.

I hate it, almost as much as I hate the lack of recognition in your eyes when you see me. I want you to know me. To light up when you see me. But this is the way it has to be.
{yearning} I’ve thought about coming to you under other pretenses… introducing myself, maybe starting a real relationship. I could take care of you after every feeding instead of abandoning you, like I want to so badly. I could spend more time in your refuge from the chaos of the world, and give you someone to share it with. I think we’d both be happy… but it’s not that simple, is it? Every day takes us farther from our first meeting, makes it harder to introduce myself, and every memory we make makes me more likely to out myself, as we saw earlier. Besides, I’ve gotten used to this. I like being able to treat you as a safe place, without having to put any burdens on you. And God knows, dating a vampire - hell, just being friends with one - comes with burdens… You deserve better than that. When I read my work on a new screen, ie a tablet, it forces me into the reader’s mind. I also like to make notes to self though.
I’ve been using Files, but the second I tap the wrong spot, I lose all my scribbling. I assumed there’s an easy answer like Acrobat, yet wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing out on something else.

So I got arrested and was told to turn in my weapons and FOID to local PD. Which I did, except I kept the AR. I did not know about this stupid ban a day after my release. I talked to ISP and my local PD and they said the same "if I turned the weapon in I would've been arrested on the spot and charged" they told me to even try to transfer. Which I did and completely regret. I plan on keeping it hidden until my court date so I can sell it out of state or just completely destroy the weapons itself and show them proof if anyone comes knocking on my door. I talked to a number of people and it seems no one knows the damn answers. Is it legal for me to destroy my weapon in Il? Should I keep it hidden? Can they still arrest and charge if they don't find it?
