2024.05.15 00:21 thestormz Chair suggestion <300€, 1.90, EU
As I said, I am 1.90tall x 82kg and I live in EU. As such, Used options for Steelcase and Herman Miller are NOT an option. I have already checked in my area and it's not an option in Italy.
I was wondering about Clatina Mellet, Sihoo M90D or some other and Ticova chairs, but I'm open to everything.

2024.05.14 19:58 BlakeBish Is Leap V2 an upgrade from haworth very?
Hi I picked up a Haworth Very Mesh without lumbar support for $50. I’ve been looking at the Steelcase Leap V2 and have a gentleman that wants to trade me my chair plus me paying him $245 for a loaded Steelcase Leap V2. Just wanted to know if this would be considered a good trade and if the chair was worth the extra cash?

2024.05.14 12:37 TurmalinBlack Best office chair for a college student on a budget?
Hey, i need your advice when it comes to picking out my new (and first "real") office chair. I am currently a student in university (= not that much budget, and not able to travel much to pick something up), and i sit A LOT.
I'd like something with a bit of support as my current baseline is an IKEA childrens desk chair. Regarding specifics: i am female, about 160cm tall and weigh ~60kg.
I am also located in Europe so the ised office chair market is a lot worse then anywhere else.
After scouting the local office chair market around my location ive found the following options:
• Vitra ID Mesh at 299€
• Knoll Generation at 299€
• Haworth Comforto 29/Lively at 209€
• Steelcase Think at 351€
• Steelcase Series 1 at 449€
I've read a lot of reviews on this subreddit but i am unsure on which one would be the best choice regarding my stature...
Thank you guys for your help!

2024.05.14 10:35 Nomad_Mask Do german companies post their assets on auction websites when going into insolvency or when moving out?
I am looking to buy some office chairs, such as steelcase. I came across some ads on kleinanzeigen.de where people sell bulks of chairs or different office equipment stating that they have them from an auction.
Can you let me know if there are any websites where I can participate in these kind of auctions?
Thank you!

2024.05.13 21:02 zephyrinthesky28 Local retailers for Steelcase chairs besides Heritage?
Hey folks - just wondering if anyone knows of a local showroom/retailer that stocks Steelcase chairs and has them available to try?
Heritage Office is the only place I can find in Vancouver that advertises being a Steelcase dealer, but they are by appointment-only and only open weekdays until 4:30pm. However I have to order direct from Steelcase in order to use a work discount, so I'd rather not waste their time on an appointment.

2024.05.13 16:59 Worried-Bike-5107 Can you guys help me chose my 1st ergonomic chair?
So here is my story, and the point i am in this moment with few words..
im 39yo 179cm and 75kg (kinda skinny).
i own a gaming chair (Anda seat T-PRO II) for 3 years and at this age, i decided to get my 1st Ergonomic office chair to help my body feel comfortable while streaming for almost 8 hours.
Logitech embody was my 1st choice, but it seems almost impossible to purchase it in my country (greece), that even if i find a way, it will cost me a lot of money, so lets say that any HM chair is out of the list..
then i found that its very easy to get an Ergohuman, since a greek store sells them here. but its kinda ugly and as long as i understand, these kind of chairs our recommend only in 3rd world country's. all the youtube videos i found our from Philippines and Malaysia. except of one famous youtube channel (BTODtv) that seems to be paid to talk about this chair. he is the only person that actually likes it and claims its the best chair he sit on, lmao.
Straight to the point: i found the Haworth Zody on sale brand new in greece for 559$ but this chair looks very office and won't look good for my streams/youtube.
then i liked very much the Asus Rog destrier that looks gaming but is Ergonomic, but the comments in reddit and youtube and some amazon doesn't say a lot positive things, except of the youtuber
Ahnestly that seems also paid to say its the best chair, i dont belive him.
Steelcase Costs 1200$ and i saw reddit comments recommend the Zody instead of Steelcase.
so now im between the Zody and the Asus Rog Destrier

2024.05.13 13:31 aceman747 Steelcase Leap uncomfortable ..
Love Steelcase series of ergo furniture. Have the series 2 chair as well as their standing desk but recently i gave developed a back problem where the slight tilt in the chair was annoying me. I ordered the leap thinking that there are more options to adjust but unfortunately I find that the lumbar support is too aggressive and I feel like i am being pushed forward. I have adjusted everything. Has es anyone had similar experiences and have looked at similar chairs that perhaps aren’t as aggressive to the lower back?

2024.05.13 01:22 DaiquiriJack Upgrade From the Ticova
Hey y'all
Looking to upgrade my ergo office chair from the Ticova to something better; by all means I think that the ticova is a bang for the buck, but I think it's time for a meaningful upgrade, and this seems like the place to ask for recommendations. As far as criteria I'm looking for...
- I tend to move around in my chair a lot as I sit in it, and find myself in positions that aren't considered "ergonomic"; this tends to be when I'm lounging, watching youtube videos or just casually sitting in it. I don't want something that's going to shame me for slouching once in a while or sitting cross legged
- I want something with fairly adjustable arms as I tend to move their positions quite a bit depending upon what task I'm doing at my desk (IE Gaming, typing, lounging)
- A comfortable seat
- A deep recline
- Lumbar that isn't going to poke my back out
Looking around this forum for a bit and watching several hours of youtube videos, it's looking like the steelcase Leap v2 might be a good option? Or the Hayworth Fern? After looking at the HM Embody Gaming and hearing what my buddy who has one had to say, it seems like it isn't comfy to slouch in much, and the arms aren't super adjustable.
Let me know your thoughts.

2024.05.12 08:43 MarkRShell Long term chair for big guy HM,Steelcase,Haworth?
So after 3 1/2 years of using a cheap wayfair plus size chair purchased during COVID it finally snapped and broke last week. I’m currently a full time remote worker now so I can justify spending a good amount on a quality chair if I know it’ll last. I’ve narrowed down the 3 manufactures to Herman Miller, Steelcase and Haworth. I’m 6’2 325lbs so only a few selections are in my weight limits and no real showrooms / retails near my home to test (nearest is 2hrs each way).
Selections considering
Herman Miller: Aeron size C , Embody Steelcase: Leap Haworth: Zody , Fern
I’m leaning toward the HM Aeron or the Haworth Fern but any recommendation I’m missing or advise with good and bad experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

2024.05.11 14:07 sinefine Steelcase has the best warranty program
I'm writing this to recommend Steelcase because they've been extremely generous.
I have had a Steelcase Gesture with headrest since 2018 purchased from Uplift. By 2021, the foam on the seat has lost its volume so I contacted Uplift and Steelcase replaced the entire seat for free. Unfortunately, they did not have the same blue color I originally ordered the chair with, but I didn't mind that at all. My chair's color was Egyptian Blue. It's like RGB blue which is why I love it. Every time someone comes over to my house, they say "it's... so blue". I love that reaction. The replacement seat had Plum blue color so it was a darker shade of blue.
This year, my back's been hurting a lot from work. I work from home as a software dev and I've been burning the midnight oil a lot lately. The backseat had lost its volume and didn't have much support anymore. The backseat is a one giant piece with a headrest so I wasn't sure if there was anything that can be done. I contacted Uplift regardless and Steelcase didn't replace just the backseat. Steelcase sent me an entirely new chair in Plum blue. I was speechless and just could not believe it. I'm extremely grateful to Steelcase and their amazing customer service. I've been thinking if there was anything I could do for Steelcase since they've gone above and beyond for me, and the least I could do is share this story to promote Steelcase.

2024.05.10 23:34 imamexican_jaja Urgent Chair buy, help me decide!
As the title suggest, my Amazon chair has run its course, the mechanism that makes the chair stay at the desired height no longer works, you sit, and you go down as if I had it in the lower setting.
Can you recommend a good chair to buy, obviously getting an original Herman Miller or Steel case is out of the budget.
Any good recommendations for a good chair that i will spend hours sitting there (music production, gaming, work from home, etc..).
Should it be better to buy those second hand steelcase from the site all people mention here? Or what would be a good buy is urgent, I can't decide and can't tolerate my current chair!
I have looked in my city locally at schools, furniture places, etc. with no luck to score something. Small city (US).

2024.05.10 12:17 officechairtopper If you need a good computer chair [Buy it for life], don't buy any chair until you read this
If you feel like your old office chair is not doing you any good, you are not alone. And since the pandemic started, a lot of us have been spending more time in front of the computer. And the absence of travel and commuting makes it more amenable for people to do overtime.
But then the backache starts to amp up. And your chair isn’t doing anything to make you comfortable. It does have something to do with the brand and quality of the office chair that you bought. But regardless, there are still some things that you can do to be able to make things less painful for your back.
- Ways to amp up the comfort level of your chair
We are going to enumerate several steps on how you can overhaul your office chair to suit your needs. Some of these steps are a no-brainer.
- Make sure that the chair has the proper dimensions
When we speak of dimensions, we are talking about the height of the seat, the width of the seat, how tall the backrest is, and the position of the armrests. Let’s dabble a bit on some.
- Set your chair to the proper height
A chair that’s set too high or too low for you can be detrimental. When set too high, your feet will be dangling off the chair. And this can cause numbness in the back of your legs. Then you’ll feel a pinching pain afterward. And when set too low, there will be added pressure on your back.
It can be easy to figure out the perfect height for you. Most often you just have to listen to what your body tells you. But that’s not the case with everyone. Alternatively, you can do these to get the perfect setting.
The measurement is taken from up the floor to the back of the knees. Your feet should be flat on the floor. And you should be wearing flat shoes when you measure this height. Your feet should not be dangling from the chair nor should your legs feel like they are being too pushed down into the seat.
Also, correlating the seat height with the height of the backrest. Your shoulder and upper back should still be supported, but the chair’s frame should not be pushing too much against your skin.
If your office chair has adjustable seat depth, the more you’ll be able to find the most comfortable spot to work at.
How would you know if the seat pan isn’t pushed too forward or pulled back? When seated, you should be able to place two fingers between the seat and the back of your knees.
- Take advantage of the recline function
If your chair has more options for a recline, then you’re in for a treat. You’ll be surprised at how a few tilts from a 90-degree sitting position can do wonders for your back. An upright 90-degree angle is too much compression on the back.
According to some researchers, a 135-degree recline may offer the most relief and prevent back compression. But you can always fiddle with the recline settings of your chair and find the one that you’re most comfortable with.
The height of the arms plays a significant role in either pain or comfort. Like the seat, if it sits too high or too low, it can cause a strain on your back. How can you tell if your armrests are at the perfect height?
Easy, check your elbow angle. Your elbows should be placed at 90 degrees by the side. Plus, your shoulders should be relaxed, and they should not be held too high nor pulled way too low.
But this is easy if you have adjustable armrests, but what if your office chair has stationary arms?
Well, the best solution is to take out the arms if it’s possible! An improperly positioned armrest will not do you any good, so just free your chair from it. And think on the bright side. Armless chairs allow you to go in and out of the chair easily. Also, it will give you more room to stretch your legs for a break.
IF all of these things do not work, it's time to put an end to your old chair, and find an ideal office chair that works for 8-10 hours
Some of the best suggestions you'll see around Reddit, loved by so many Experts, even big media sites recommend them:
These are latest models from 2024
But if you prefer the budget options around $500, then go with these chairs:
Are there any other ways to avoid back pain problems?
Of course, you always have your own story, but we simply recommend you practice self-care, be it by taking regular breaks, stretching your muscles, walking around, or practicing yoga. This will help you remain limber and healthy even when spending long hours working from home! Remember: your physical health is just as important as your productivity – always take care of yourself first before getting on with any task at hand!
And another perfect solution for your back, get a standing desk!
Sit-stand desks are game-changers if you can switch between sitting and standing for 4 or 5 times each day, at least 25-30 minutes of standing. Do it for one week only and you’ll thank us later

2024.05.10 01:11 mavad90 Holy A** the Haworth Fern is One of the Worst Chairs I've Ever Tried
Just got a new black digital knit Haworth Fern delivered. I had such high hopes from all of the amazing reviews you see everywhere. Within the first minute I knew this $300 Staples chair was going back.
I'll start with the good, which isn't much. It feels like Haworth pumped all of the funds for the chair into the back, then paired it with a cheapy Amazon chair for everything else. The digital knit feels great... very comfy. The adjustable lumbar is alright... it doesn't feel too agressive to me but it does feel like there's a metal rod going across your back. Overall though, I love the back and while not as good as the embody, it's in the same hemisphere.
That's where the positives end. Once I sat in the chair I tried to raise the height, only to realize that the lever was loose/broken... so I can't even try out the forward tilt I paid extra for lol. That alone blew my mind and seems like it's much more common of an issue than it should be, on such an overpriced chair. Next we have the armrests. Very flimsy, loud, and especially cheap feeling. The right armpad is looser than the left one... anytime I slightly move my arms, only the right armpad moves and then I have to readjust it. They also don't have a large enough range, forward/backward, in my opinion. My girlfriend's Secret Lab armrests blow these out of the water... in fact, the whole chair does in comparison (for less than half the price).
The plastic and knobs on this chair feel very cheap, resembling that of a $300-$400 Office Depot chair. Didn't have this issue on the Embody, Amia, or Secret Lab at all. The casters and base are very basic. The seat cushion itself is comfortable enough but again, similar to that of a much cheaper chair. When adjusting the seat depth, after it clicks into place, the seat still slides forward and backward up to an inch. Also for some reason, there are two tags coming out of the seat cushion. Obviously you can cut those off but my gf said it makes it look like I got the chair from IKEA lol.
The Logitech Embody and Steelcase Amia build quality actually felt premium and worth the money. It's beyond me how Haworth or any of its customers thinks this chair is worth $1200-$1600... even if it did work straight out of the box.
What has your experience been like?

2024.05.09 21:03 RikRik2222 Choosing a Leap Mesh vs Non-Mesh has become an extremely difficult decision for me.
Hello great minds of OfficeChairs,
I would love your help in helping me make a decision on an office chair. I have a particular model in mind, the Leap V2 by Steelcase. However, I am trying to decide between two variants: One with a layer of mesh fabric, and one without.
I initially wanted to purchase a new office chair because I have ongoing back pain, and my current chair makes it agonizing for me to sit for long periods while I am trying to get work done. I have difficulty picking between the mesh and nonmesh variants of the Leap chair.
While the mesh version adds a tiny bit of extra padding which feels good on my achy back, the feeling of of mesh fabric is very scratchy, and irritates my skin that I can feel it through the shirt I am wearing.
To remedy this, I bought an office chair cover that solves 90% of the scratchiness issue. I am concerned about the longterm longevity of this cover however, since it is a cheaply made product from Amazon. So if the cover fails, it may leave me with a scratchy chair.
The nonmesh version has less padding, so I can sometimes feel the frame of the chair when sitting in it a bit more, which relieves my back less. But the nonmesh material is not scratchy, so it does not irritate my skin.
So does anyone have any experience with resolving the scratchiness on a Leap with the Mesh padding? Thank you.
