Food handler test

I’m a 17 y/o high school student soon to graduate. I work almost every day afterschool from 4-12, and I work 9-5 on the weekends. Today I came home from school completely exhausted from doing tests to graduate all day. It’s one of my days off and I wanted to come home and rest maybe an hour or two because my head has been hurting me. I walk into myself and my mom is screaming at me about how I never do anything around the house anymore (I pay bills and buy food) and how e i’m becoming lazy, and that I need to clean today or I will be grounded. I tried to explain how i’m feeling mentally today and she turned it on to herself. I ran into my room and closed my door to take a breather. Currently i’m in my room thinking on if I was being dramatic or if she was .

I had unprotected sex on may 8th. I was supposed to start my period may 13th but never came. I have never been late in all 10 years of having my period, I have always been correctly on date as well. I have this gut feeling I am but keep telling myself that there’s no way. All test are negative (I know it’s too early) I m nauseous I have left abdominal aches and no food sounds good (I normally am a binge eater who can eat anything at any time) I have line eyes anyways so I know this is negative but maybe someone can edit the contrast and tell me if there’s a ghost line or what I should do.

This is going to be a long post, so please bear with me. For starters, this is my second time applying to PA school--I was at a disadvantage last cycle, as I applied late July, almost early August. I was working towards my masters degree during that time, and had a bunch of in-progress courses that I need to retake. I wasn't the best student my sophomore year of college, and Organic Chemistry I was the death of me, had to retake it and passed on my third try. I have shadowed a surgical PA for a few months, but because of the pandemic, the hospital was not allowing any students to shadow anymore. I like the idea of PA's bridging the gaps in healthcare, as with everyone. Although lateral mobility and good work-life balance are enticing factors in being a PA, I don't see that as being true. It really is specialty-dependent, an ideally, I think is best to stick with one speciality and perfect your craft. I don't mind the level of autonomy that comes with being a PA, I feel that everybody can be a leader within their own scope of practice.
However, amidst this journey of applying to PA school, during college, and even high school, medical school and being a physician has been nagging in the back of my mind. I come from two loving parents who never pressured me to pursue a career in medicine, but something that will make me satisfied and have a good life. Being a physician means having the breadth of knowledge, thoroughly understanding the mechanism of actions in medication and diseases. Its better to know and comprehend the whole story and the why, instead of just knowing surface level information. I'd like to think being a research assistant is helping me in solidifying my decision to be a physician--I understand that its two completely different things, but I enjoy showing medical students and other graduate students how to dissect a mouse, I love teaching them the anatomy of the mouse, and what each part is special in, and how it pertains to the research that I do. I love being the leader, and I appreciate when my colleagues come to me for questions and ask for my perspective in different things. I enjoy being a leader, yet I enjoy working in a team. For reference, here are my stats, they are not the greatest, but I'd like to think my experiences showcases that:
-graduated college with a 2.943 gpa, had to retake most of my sophomore year's worth of classes, failed organic chemistry I and passed on my third try. with all retakes and masters, raised to 3.02. despite failing most of soph year, i made deans list numerous times.
-got my masters in biomedical sciences, got a 3.4 gpa
-last 60 credits, 3.66, last 45, 3.61
-1955 hours as a night shift float pct, certified in phlebotomy, ekg, and as a pct.
-1392 hours in biochem research, vitamin D regulation focused. abstract sent out, will be presenting in symposium in fall
-new job as mental health specialist on back up call center, about 60 hours since i just started position
-990 hours in social and affective neuroscience research, presented thesis to psych department
-volunteering: sunday school teacher for 2nd graders, habitat for humanity, health screener in grad school, volunteer in hospital in high risk pregnancy and geriatric wings, summer camp counselor in church, food bank.
-teaching experience: learning assistant for psych stats course, helped teach 37 juniors and seniors as a junior, about 42 hours bc during semester.
-hobbies: food festivals, legos, parrots, painting, cooking and baking.
I have not taken my MCAT, and I told myself that if I do not get far in PA school applications, I will start studying for the test come the fall. The masters program that I am apart of has a linkage with the medical school, so I will try to see what my options are when the time comes. All in all, both professions are excellent, but I don't want to spend the rest of my life wondering what could have been. Some honest advice and feedback would be helpful.

PLEASE, IF YOU’RE READING THIS, GIVE ME ANY ADVICE THAT HELPED YOU WITH SIBO/SIFO
DISCLAIMER: I don’t wanna repeat how useless doctors were during all of my injuries/diseases, so I’m just gonna put it here. I visited the ER and hospital probably 40 times, ended up with either „psychosomatic, making it up, it’s your fault, stop wasting out time, you’re irrational” every single time.
I started anorexia recovery in October 2023 (am normal weight now) and had many letdowns. In December I had a back injury and was in bed for a month, couldn’t move a limb. Took many NSAIDs and after finding a good physiotherapeut I got better.
Right after that m stomach started burning and I got H pylori. Two months of no luck with doctors, I found a single gastro out of 14 I visited who trusted me, gave me abx and I was cured in 2 weeks. I took PPIs the whole 2-3 months, which caused my SIBO.
No doctor helped me again, and I also got an insatiable hunger and carbs cravings. I got a blood test and found out I had insulin resistance. - how is that possible? I’ve only been eating for ~5 months, this can’t be right. I felt defeated and accepted that I’ll never eat “normally” again and will have to do low carb/keto forever. But then…
It dawned on me. SIFO. Candida. Candida causes high blood sugar… carb cravings… insatiable hunger. I read some of the posts here and I felt happy. I know it’s bad - as bad as SIBO, but I finally know I actually “don’t” have insulin resistance from food, only from Candida! And once I cure it, it’ll go away.
So now I’m here, ready to kill SIBO and SIFO. And get my life back. In 5 months I’m starting uni and I will be cured by then. I do not accept any other outcomes. I am determined. If I have to starve for a month to kill those bastards, I will. I kept messing around until today, now I have hope for being 100% healthy because once I kill SIBO and SIFO, insulin resistance WILL go away and I will be happy again. No more crying. No more defeat. I will win.
SYMPTOMS (idk which one is caused by SIBO/SIFO)

• mild oral thrush
• extreme 24/7 bloating
• extremely extreme hunger and cravings (wake up at night)
• depression (no more, I’ll kick its ass)
• mild brain fog
• mild constipation

I need your help

1. What antifungals work on every strain? My country doesn’t do yeast test so I can’t do a resistance test. I can get my hands on fluconazole, nystatin and maybe other options if you have a good recommendation.
   
2. Antifungals or herbs? Which is more effective? If herbs, what combo do you recommend?
   
3. Biofilm - would NAC and Kirkman be enough?
   
4. Diet - MEVY, do ammounts matter? Vegetables in ulimited ammounts or restricted to grams like SIBO low FODMAP?
   
5. Fasting - would a prolonged fast (7-14 days) kill Candida if I took some herbs while on it, like ADP oregano, ginger, allicin, and tumeric?
   
6. Probiotics safe for SIBO and SIFO both? S Boulardii is one of them, is L reuteri and Rhamnosus as well? How about Colostrum?
   
7. What Vitamins/Supplements will help fight SIBO/SIFO and boost immunity? And what dosage? I read about large dosage of vit C - how large?
   
8. Should I take Metformin to adress IR for now and stop when I’m cured? Will it help anyhow with SIBO/SIFO?

He’s 16 weeks old and it’s pretty obvious I uprooted him from his original environment.
His initial reactions to being away the first week were really positive! Didn’t seem like he missed being outside at all. Then I noticed he was in the litter more, but wasn’t straining just taking longer.
Then I noticed he’s sleeping 15-20 hours during the day so it’s like he’s not a normal kitten. Before he’d be running around causing trouble and mewing LOUDLY. Now he’s sleeping a lot and seems generally disinterested. This is week 2 btw so it hasn’t even been 3 weeks that he’s been off the Island.
I have a 4yo cat and the first week they fought but became pals. He’s not even interested in fighting with my other cat anymore.
I took him to the vet and they confirmed his stomach flora was messed up (overgrowth) and said it could be a parasite or it’s likely the change in his diet to more protein rich foods.
Parasite test was negative and he’s on Metronidazole and prebiotics to his meals for the next week. His behavior hasn’t really improved. Sometimes he will scamper around or mew loudly, he’s still eating and peeing/pooping.
Is it possible that he is depressed?

I realize this may not be the right place to post this, but figured the pet parents here would have the most experience with the topic of dog seizures and possible causes. Both of our dogs had grand mal seizures within 3 days of each other with no prior history of seizures. I’ll try to be thorough with things, but it will be long.
Dog #1 (Jupiter) Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, female, 101 pounds, 6 years old. Takes trazadone for anxiety and Proin for urinary incontinence.
Dog #2 (Selene) Border Collie, female, 46 pounds, 4 years old. History of elevated liver enzymes for unknown reasons and serotonin syndrome caused by trazadone.
They have both been OFF of flea/heartworm meds for several months because of the elevated liver enzymes. So we can rule that out as a cause.
We had an exterminator come to the house on Tuesday April 23rd. He used two products, one inside (permethrin based) and one outside (fipronil based). [ASPCA poison control and the manufacturer of these chemicals were consulted and both agree that these should not be connected to the seizures] They are never outside alone. They both try to eat grass sometimes. The area they use is just lawn and then rocks with some weeds growing in them.
5 days later (Sunday Apr 28) dog #1 starts wretching just before breakfast and that transitions into a grand mal seizure lasting approximately 2 minutes. Recovery was quick, maybe 10 minutes, was taken to emergency vet. Thyroid testing (normal), chest/abdomen X-rays (normal) and blood tests (normal except slight elevated bilirubin). Sent home on seizure watch.
3 days later (Wed May 1) dog #2 wakes up with our alarm, runs from couch to bedroom door and immediately goes into grand mal seizure that lasted 5 minutes. Urinated and defacated during seizure. We had cameras all over to keep an eye on the other dog at this point. Recovery was slower, she didn’t even try to stand up for 15 minutes. Went immediately to emergency vet. All bloodwork came back normal.
*At this point our vet is sure it’s got to be environmental. We throw out dog food, dog treats. Empty and thoroughly clean and sanitize water bowl. Wash all dog toys and their toy box. Mop all floors, clean all rugs, wash all walls. Moved and wiped down every piece of furniture. Power washed the foundation where pesticide was applied. We even washed the garage floor because that’s where they go in and out. We went back to making their food for them, so no more kibble after the seizures. We bought a totally different brand of treats too. I even crawled under the deck to make sure there weren’t rodent baits or anything under there. They only get RO water, which is the same water we drink.
May 7-Dog 1 goes for yearly vet exam and vaccines. No issues. Heart worm negative.

Vet gave the “all clear” to put them back on heartworm/flea prevention after being off of it for several months. I decided to wait and make sure they were good before giving their preventatives because I know they all have a seizure risk and didn’t want to introduce more toxins to their systems.
Today, 18 days since first seizure, dog #1 starts wretching just before breakfast (same as before the first seizure) and it immediately transitions into another grand mal seizure. Lasting about 2 minutes, similar to the first seizure. She comes around after 5 minutes, drunk walks 10 feet and then vomits bile/foam. Call the vet immediately and vet has us pick up levetiracetem and start it right away. She goes back to the vet tomorrow for further testing—ekg and urinalysis.
We are wracking our brains trying to figure out what kind of environmental thing could be causing this. They don’t swim or go into any water sources. We do have farm fields around us, but the dogs don’t go there and haven’t been out during spraying or anything. They haven’t eaten anything strange outside. Previous owners of this house had cats and a dog. Our neighbors dog hasn’t had any problems (they also used the same exterminator on the same day we did). My dogs don’t really get into anything in the house, don’t chew. They have not had flea/heartworm preventative for the last 4 months (see above). The only thing I’ve found that the vet hasn’t brought up is toxoplasmosis. I do plan to have the water tested again (it was tested one year ago and water was fine, but slightly elevated nitrates, which is why we only give RO water)
We may never find an answer to what is causing this, but in the hopes that someone may have a lead for us, I’m asking for your help redditors.
If it helps we live in northern Indiana near-ish to Lake Michigan. We have lived in this house since last fall, it’s rural (we lived in city previously). There are stray cats, squirrels, lots of chipmunks, turkey and deer that are around all the time. House was built in the 90s so lead shouldn’t be a concern as far as the paint goes.

34 Male, had a string of back to back colds/illnesses in April; flu symptoms (unverified), two bouts of food poisoning, sinus infection, and then started May with what I think was strep (red and white patchy throat, painful swallowing, swollen tonsils; did not get tested because my insurance’s covered urgent care is closed on weekends - symptoms started Friday, and I felt good enough to work by Monday, though still not 100%).
It’s been a little over a week since symptoms started - my throat is still a little scratchy, my tonsils are still visibly swollen, but I’m mostly fine. No fever that lasted more than an hour or two, and never above 99 degrees. Suddenly, though, my lymph nodes on only one side of my neck feel really tender and swollen. This has gone on about two or three days with no improvement/worsening - I noticed it and it’s been about the same since I did.
Should I go to urgent care? Is this just a late onset symptom of whatever I’ve got, and I should just continue to stay hydrated, drink tea and rest? Help!

Hey, I just got the results to my test I did a few weekday ago. I dont understand much of it but now my family doctor wants me to go for a gastroscopy and a endoscopy.
The wait time is at least 60 days here to get my appointment. Could anyone tell me what the results possibly mean? I've been a little stressed regarding this lately and my doctor seemed to take it very seriously with her approach. Thanks.
29, male , active lifestyle. Been sick often lately with asthma/breathing being worst. Food gets kind of stuck, like one bite a week, when it started almost 8-10 months ago. Now it happens like once a month and only foods like chicken or rice.

I am on Day 3 of Covid-- started out as intense joint pain, could feel every joint in my body in the worst way, then a prolonged fever. Yesterday I could hardly walk my legs hurt so badly so I took a test and urged my household to do the same-- we all tested positive. Today I am out of breath and exhausted with some intense back pain.
I feel really sad about all this-- this is my third time having it since I got it initially in January/March 2020. I've been masking for four years, even working to make sure masks were allowed at my work. I got my family sick and we're just barely able to tend to our pets and generally live socially isolated since the Pandemic began. It's been hard to get enough food because it's hard to get to the kitchen but luckily have been able to have access to ample water. Just overall feeling pitiful but have been resting as much as possible.
How do y'all cope with intense exhaustion/out of breath feeling from Covid?

Today was my 8th EMG. I showed the muscles where I had fascics and weakness. All was clean/normal. Also clinical. 10 neurologists cleared me of ALS already - clinically and then 8 emgs that were normal. I have still my doubts after reading about some cases, where especially young people have clean emgs for years and then turning dirty. I was tested in all possible muscles in the past 3 years but after every EMG I try to think what if in the other muscle or other side something would be shown. The neurologist that performed the EMG today just stick the needle in my muscle and immediately shrug his head and said no MND. No other neurologist did this. After that he was sticking the needle for a minute into the muscle and then I needed to flex with the muscle. But the whole EMg was like 15 minutes maybe.. what if he has performed it wrong? I see many here doing it for an hour or more. At the end he said it is just BFS and that I can be assured it is not als considering my age (24), duration of symptoms (2 years and a half), clinical exams and emg. I am still worried because I still have all my symptoms.. perceived weakness (like I can’t hold my phone for more than 10 minutes or sometimes even at eating my hand feels weak when using the fork or knife), bad cramping in the same spot (hurts a lot and feels like the muscle is getting tight), being sore and exhausted all the time like I have run a marathon, tremor in muscle activity, fascics (to mention that they were not even seen on my EMG, although I have them all the time?!). Besides that I have also trouble swallowing (saliva only, no food and liquids), feeling that my voice is nasal (although my parents and friends don’t seem to notice a difference), trouble getting air when speaking (like some words just can’t be pronounced well but the speech is not slurred.. just missing air when speaking and it makes it harder to speak then). So I thought even about a bulbar onset because actually no bulbar muscle was tested in my EMGS ever (I was told no clinical points towards it and that bulbar in my case would be absurdly to even consider) but I was also told that if it was bulbar and I had problems in my limbs (which I have), the EMG would show it anyway. What is now my thinking about everything is just the fact that I feel so alone in this. Nobody believes me anymore or how much I struggle. It is hard to accept to live like this forever and even the fear of a terminal disease being a possibility makes me unmotivated to do just anything in life anymore. What advice can you give me? I'm just a homebody introvert who would rather game or binge shows all day than go out. I had a blood test for celiac disease and it came negative. I did not come back insensitive to certain foods based on the blood test but I am not so sure about those results. My doctor said one of my antigens came back a little high for inflammation and now my doc wants me to do a colonoscopy to check for Crohns. My doc doesn’t believe it’s Crohns and thinks it is just IBS, but wants the confirmation with colonoscopy. I am not sure how I feel about getting a colonoscopy at 25 :-( I do not think I have Crohns.
My symptoms are:
-Constipation, some days I have looser stools (not full blown water diarrhea but mild diarrhea)
-I only have about 1 BM a day, even on the looser days
-Sometimes will get urge to poop and I only pass gas
-Stomach bubbling/internal gas? I have rumbling towards my anus after bowel movements/ through the day
-Stomach feels unsettled through the day
-Stomach cramps at times that feel like I need to have diarrhea but I do not have diarrhea.
-Never have blood in stool, Mucus in stool sometimes

Back in 2022, I was diagnosed with a possible case of eosinophilic esophagitis/GERD. I was on a pureed diet for about a year since I had significant dysphagia and lost 20 pounds. I've been underweight ever since.
When I transitioned to eating solid food again, my poop looked very weird. White specks floating in the toilet water above the actual poop. White and yellow specks, as well as stringy things in my actual poop. One time, what looked like a literal worm in the toilet bowl. My GI last spring ordered a parasite & ova stool test. While I was waiting for the results, I had to go to urgent care for another matter. Well, it turned out the urgent care doctor was an infectious disease doctor, I showed her the picture, and she thought it looked like a roundworm.
Well, that parasite & ova stool test came back negative. I did a pinworm paddle test as well. It came back negative. My poop continued to look weird. Saw my GI last summer, and he just told me not to pay too much attention to my poop.
Then last fall, I went to my primary and told them maybe I'm dealing with a pinworm infection. Can my partner and I please take albendazole to see if it helps. We did one dose, and then after two weeks, another dose.
Now I'm dealing with near constant constipation, so I can't properly see if my poop is normal. I'm also dealing with nausea, bloating, a lack of appetite, iron deficiency anemia, B12 deficiency, and Vitamin D deficiency as well. I have had anemia since I was a teenager, the B12 deficiency started in 2022. The Vitamin D deficiency has been on & off during my life. Due to these symptoms, I am not able to gain much needed weight. I did a SIBO test in January that came back negative. Asked my GI what the next steps were about my symptoms, and he just told me to take Miralax.
This week, I saw a weird white floating thing in the toilet water when I had a bowel movement. Then, when I wiped today after having a bowel movement, there was what looked like a worm (maybe?) on the toilet paper that was yellow/tan in color.
My question is, really, what do I do? Does it sound like I could have parasites? If so, how do I go about addressing this? Once again, looking for guidance, NOT fear mongering.

Just found this groups today. I’ve been dealing with health problems for a long time now (since high school) and I’m just realizing that it may be an allergy to food.
I was hoping to explain what happens here and take any feedback, experience, advice you guys are kind enough to give.
The thing that mostly throws me is that it doesn’t happen immediately. And I’m on some strong antihistamines and inflammation blockers because it’s been such an issue so that may be hiding the issue.
I found out long back that I can’t eat wheat, although I got the skin test and it was negative. But eating wheat knocked me out for 4-8 days with brain fog, exhaustion beyond words, etc, so I obviously stopped eating it.
What’s going on now is that unpredictably, I’ll suddenly feel all my sinuses swell shut and it makes me utterly exhausted - like “go ahead and let the house burn down, the exhaustion isn’t worth fighting just for my life” levels of tired. I cannot emphasize enough how hard it is to stay upright and conscious.
I have lots of GI issues all the time - bloated, upset tummy, cramps, diarrhea or constipation.
If it gets bad enough, I start coughing continuously. I’ve read that it keeps my heart beating and that may be why I cough even with nothing in my throat.
When it happens, I suddenly can’t speak think well - like I’m dyslexic or something. I add simple math wrong. I make idiotic mistakes. I can’t think or function.
I’m told my face gets really red sometimes but I never get hives or anything.
I’ve been taking Zyrtec because I used to itch all the time. I never had a rash but I just itches crazy, especially hands and feet/ankles.
And I’m now taking singulair too. I always feel so bad, like I got hit by a truck. Achy like the worst flu you ever had. The singulair helps with the pain / ache some and also, when I take it, I don’t get those sudden attacks nearly as bad. Like I don’t pass out immediately and do that continuous cough thing.
I have gotten inhalers from friends (because I text negative for asthma and the symptoms are delayed and I don’t know the cause, so the docs don’t see the reaction and dont think I have any real issue, I guess?) and it helps more than most things. It sometimes stops me from coughing like crazy and it helps when I go into the cold funk.

Created a new save to try this new update only to quickly realise the food and water setting to be absolutely pointless and just a free bonus for doing pretty much nothing, not even needing to consume or carry food and water.
The 30 minute timer for being fed/hydrated resets fully back to 30minutes whenever u swap weapons/use quick slot or open the scanner, either them two features are unusable if i want to enjoy this hunger mechanic or I just constantly have free buffs . (not to mention possibly other things which do this as well but I didn't test it thoroughly).
I noticed this straight away by the time I got to Kreet, like do they not test their own games or something ? Is it possible to fix this I would love to try it out properly where I need to scavenge for food. I even purposely chose beast hunter background to rp knowing how to survive and hunt for food on alien planets no matter where i am in the universe or how far from civilisation I am but seems like it hasn't worked at all for me so will likely just turn it off.
