Austin Community College District (ACC) honors our students' incredible achievements at the upcoming Spring 2024 Commencement. More than 3,000 students were invited to walk the stage at 4 p.m. Friday, May 17, at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.
The ceremony will also be livestreamed. To honor graduates, the college launched an online message board for the community to share a message to celebrate the achievements.

Strike of busses No busses were on the move I had to travel on my own the day was gloomy and windy not many at school coz transport wasn't available every left the class it was me and her she packing her bag to leave looked at me from the side I also in the flow walked behind her and gave her a back hug( biggest blunder) I could feel her shiver it was cold after all calming her down we left until behind a bus she hugged me back ( the first one she ever had ) I gave her a forehead kiss
The letters continued so did the conspiracy another day walking back home her mom saw me walk beside her green told me not to talk to her as it would be like adding another character ( Her mom alr knew about jawline trying on green) So idint I walked my path 2 days later I felt a change in her behaviour she would walk down to talk to her frnds not 5 steps back to talk to me painfull innit

Hey, I'm a high school student that's gonna take my final IB exam tmr (french listening). And then I'll be officially done. Next year, I'm thinking of taking a gap year just to hopefully get some job experience and figure out what I want to do in the future. I'm very passionate about biology, and I'm considering to become a biology tutor (for IB students) next year. I have never done anything remotely similar before (I have quite severe social anxiety disorder. I'm soon going to be a senior high school student, but I still haven't decided which school I should go to. I really want to go to a good school. I'm torn between going to a school close to my house or going to a nice and prestigious school. However, the school closer to my house is terrible. The education is awful; the teachers don't teach you all the time. The only benefit of going to this school is that it's close to my house. I don't need to pay for anything because it's a public school, and most of my friends are also going to study there. While the other school is excellent, I need to pay some tuition fees. My parents support me in deciding which school I should go to, but I'm very worried about the fees, especially because my older sister is going to college. This internship requires around 30 hours of research per week, and some meetings overlap with my current schedule.
I could drop my classes to do the internship (delaying my transfer window), but I would lose the SI job because it requires me to be enrolled in at least 6 credits (I'm currently taking 8). I'm unsure about what would be best for the long run. My goal is to transfer to UF for Electrical Engineering, but I also want to build my resume and grow as a student to support my professional career.

I am going to be a junior in college and I’m starting to look more and more into graduate school for something in healthcare (unsure if med school, pa school, or nursing). Is it fair to put a small section that recognizes my internship from senior year of high school? The internship was with one of the biggest hospitals in my region and only accepted 20 students all in high school. I would put it with the scholarships I have received while in college. • I am interning with the Sales Team at a Series A start-up this spring and summer. Working for a start-up has been a great experience, but not exactly what I want after graduation.
• My GPA is 3.4.
• I am an Economics major. I love macroeconomics and financial markets. Managing my own paltry saving portfolio is a hobby, as is reading Economist/FT/WSJ articles on macro trends.
• I also love exploring the world of innovation. I recently had a Crunchbase free trial and enjoyed going through early-stage VC firm portfolios and learning what new ideas were being funded.
• I enjoy challenging myself to spend as little as possible. I see every purchase as money that could have accrued interest or been used to optimize utility elsewhere. Doing this at a big corporation might be cool.

My question is, what jobs for recent grads with a GPA like mine without a bunch of Finance internships on my resume are available in finance? Do the interests presented here set me up to enjoy a job in Finance that might be seen by others as dull and monotonous?

I’ve auditioned and trained on snare drum for 3 years. I’ve also went through one full and one partial leadership training. I did my best but I was put on an instrument that barely anyone is qualified/wants to do(synthesizer). Due to me being my director’s best candidate for synthesizer I was denied a place in the drumline 3 times. Not because I’m bad at drums. I can play them, even better than some of the rookies who were given the role(I’m not kidding or flexing, I literally have more training and life experience) but when you have multiple people doing something and your best and only worker wants to switch to something that many other people can do, you’re probably not going to allow them to switch and it makes perfect sense. The rookies and first years can be trained into next generation drummers but I’m basically a senior(Junior Marshall becoming a senior in 8 days) so this is my last season and I have no replacement. As for leadership, I went through a whole entire training session over the course of about two months, not getting voted for and someone else who had been in the band Longer than me who was more assertive taking Section leader position, which makes sense also. The second time I actually had a chance, considering that most leaders were leaving, I lost my cool once during the year after being perfectly fine and having a clean record. I didn’t Hurt anyone or destroy any property but I ended up with a week of suspension missing three of my leadership trainings. When I came back, I naturally lost any chance at marching band leadership for the rest of my High school career. It’s crazy how I went above and beyond did everything I was supposed to do came to almost every single rehearsal, when above and beyond, and one moment of weakness ruined it all. It’s crazy how a flick of a finger can send a whole tower down. Anyways, I’m a very persistent person and I will not give up. Would love to hear input or advice on what could’ve been done differently or what I could’ve done. Obviously not do what I did lol but I just wanna vent for the sake of venting.
My instagram has always been private and I only allow students to follow me if they graduate high school. I pretty much just post on my story. Sometimes stupid shit that probably isn’t professional but I digress. Was doing high school last year but now I’m doing elementary school.
A public Facebook group for parents of my school’s district posted a screen-recording of my story from a month ago. The story was a picture of my classroom and saying things I probably shouldn’t have about my little ones. My kiddos trashed my classroom during a lockdown when I made the post so naturally I was furious. The Facebook post blew up.
Have yet to speak with HR about it because I told them I refuse until my union rep is present but I’ve since been notified that I’ve been removed from my assignment and the Facebook page announced that I’ve been let go.
I’ve been verbally and physically abused by my little ones the entire school year. A kindergartener choked me and another tried to cut me with a piece of glass, to name some things. Even so, parents have always praised the work I’ve done in the classroom.
It was a bad day among many bad days and I felt the need to share it. Didn’t realize the Facebook page had access to my private social media. Were these students tough? Fuck yeah. Do I still love them? Fuck yeah, but some days I don’t. Do I still love the profession? Absolutely. And now I’ve been made out to be a public enemy and have to be careful when I go out in public. On the bright side I can file for unemployment? Lol

tldr; I know I can probably finish WGU in less than a year based on the CLEP and Sofia exams and if my university's and associates credits will transfer, but would WGU be helpful for someone like me whos just starting their career, because it seems like the vast majority of people enrolled are already knees deep in their career and are just doing WGU in order to move up to a new position.
My main concern is how helpful would WGU be (like their career services and student support) if I'm applying to entry level tech jobs just starting my career, or would I be better off finding a different way to get into tech like continuing to make personal coding projects to maybe make a business out of them/applying to WITCH company contractors like Accenture? (problem with WITCH companies is they also require a bachelors degree now)
It seems like having a bachelors degree is a bare minimum to be taken seriously by employers nowadays and projects are just for talking points in interviews to keep the conversation with the interviewer going for more than 10 minutes

Long Story:
I'm in a tough spot. My current school I'm attending is called Grand Valley State University but I'm not having a good time because of their traditional 4 month semester like you have to be on pace with everyone else, I rather just get assignments done quicker or if I want to slow down and truly understand the material but if you were to do that at my school they would imply you're being inconsiderate and rude...
I just don't fit in with their traditional teaching model, I excelled at online learning but it seems like my local schools in general are doing away with online based learning and going back to a sit in a classroom setting because they're apparently paranoid with rampant cheating with ChatGPT and stuff so much that they're making everyone required to be in class and do everything on paper now. The only strength my school really has for me is the local connection to internships, that's pretty much it... All my friends graduated in 2021 so the socialization attraction of college left 3 years ago
I'm a non traditional student, meaning I'm not my state university's usual student who just graduated high school and are under 24, I been out of college since 2021 I just recently came back last year. The school is a 50 minute daily drive which is horrible, they do not offer convenient online classes, it's your typical brick and mortar sit in a classroom and listen to the lecture type school which has never worked out for me since like middle school. Then there are those professors who do flipped-classrooms where the professor does not teach, you and your classmates are teaching each other which is a horrible experience like how do you expect students to teach people stuff they don't know about and you get mad at us for teaching it the wrong way
My school also does not offer semester-round for certain classes, so theres certain mandatory classes you have to take but it's only offered once a year so if you miss out on that class or if it becomes full and no one drops so you can't enroll, you'll have no way to take those classes, better luck next year. They expect to have 25k students enrolled this year (half of that will be in CS/IT/Data Science) when they do not have enough professors, resources and local internships to handle all of that, it's a small ass university in the middle of farms.
This caused my graduation timeline to actually be late 2026 or ealy 2027 and there's no way in hell I want to wait that long, I rather graduate as soon as possible and get to the money now instead of having to wait like almost 4 years to start my life.
I graduated from an online community college with an associates in business technology management in 2021 but there's a problem with my state university, I have 82 credits and they classified me as a Junior but I'm basically a freshman because all of those credits are free electives, my credits basically weren't accepted because they're from out of state even though they're all business/CS related. I couldn't find a course transfer equivelancy page on WGU's website to show what specific classes will transfer from certain universities, does anyone have information about what credits can transfer without having to call WGU? (I don't want to get spam called by them)

I'm still in high school but I want to have a career that I'm at least aiming for. I wanted to be a paleontologist, but my parents are discouraging that due to their religious beliefs.
I was wondering if there was anything similar that I could do with history or paleontology. All I've come up with is a museum curator or a history professor, but I just want more options. Any ideas?
