I genuinely think I am going insane. In August 2023, I upgraded my PC from the AM4 platform to the AM5 platform. To provide a comprehensive overview, I will share the PcPartPicker lists for both PCs, along with the detailed specs here.

Ever since I upgraded to the AM5 platform, in many games, within the first 1 - 10 minutes of launching (regardless of whether I stay in the lobby or queue into a match), my frames drop below 5 FPS and stay like that from anywhere between 20 seconds to 3 minutes. GPU utilization drops from 20% to 99% (depending on the game) to 1% to 5%. DPC latency for Nvidia and other drivers spikes like crazy. I've attached the LatencyMon reports.
Once it returns to normal, it STAYS normal until I restart my PC. The thing is, there are only some games like this. For example, it always happens in Valorant (not resource intensive) and Apex Legends (resource intensive). I play these two at low settings. However, it never happens in Forza Horizon 5 and Forza Motorsport (2023), and I play both at max settings in 1440p!
I've RMA'd the motherboard and CPU and even tried swapping the graphics card with a 4060, yet the issue still persisted. This never happens when I run Cinebench or casually use my PC. My BIOS, OS (Windows 11 23H2), and every single damn driver on my PC is up-to-date. I check every day for updates on everything. I may be the most up-to-date man in my city. I have also ruled out thermal throttling, as my CPU is stays below 75c when these drops happen, and before.
I've clean-installed Windows 11 countless times with no luck. I've played with no additional software on my PC, just drivers, and it still happens. I contacted NVIDIA support, but customer service couldn't fix it. I got forwarded to "level 2 tech support", and they said, "We will look into it on our side." I followed up consistently for weeks and never got a response back. I even made a new ticket, which got closed with no response. I even emailed their HQ (I think), and never got a response from them either.
I'm considering giving up and getting ready to splurge on a Ryzen 9 9900X when it's released. I believe it has something to do with the 3D-Vcache, and I prefer having a fixed overclock and finding its stable limits. At this point, I am insanely desperate for any fix. haven’t decided on a case

Hi Everyone!
Im here hoping to know better before taking a decision so Im here for your insight.
I built my pc long ago and I have been improving pieces every couple of months and Im feeling currently my GPU is becoming the bottleneck of my gaming hobby.
I play a lot Totalwar Warhammer 3 with average settings which i would like to play at max but currently playing and having youtube on the second monitor make gpu stay at 100% and causes the videos to freeze.
I was thinking on changing my RTX2060 with 6gb of dedicate memory for either a EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 FTW3 Ultra Gaming, 08G-P5-3767-KL, 8GB GDDR6 for $599 or Asus Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB GDDR6 DUAL-RTX4060TI-16G for $542.91
My concern is that from what i understood my motherboard has only PCIE 3.0 and both cards are PCIE 4.0 which means that even though it will work there si going to be a downgrade in performance.
Am I correct in my understanding?
would you recommend buying either of them since I dont plan to upgrade my other parts now even though my motherboard is still PCIE 3.0?
Would the 4060 be the best option since it has 12gb dedicate memory and its cheaper or I am missing something?

I'm trying to write some basic mass spec data reduction software, and I'm running into an issue with a Matplotlib button not responding.
The button should allow the user to toggle between two different plots, but as it stands, the button does nothing at all and I'm really scratching my head as to why.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys, I'm currently trying to run an openCV Python script on a Khadas VIM3 single-board computer. I made the script on my windows laptop originally and it all worked fine. However, my Khadas board runs on Ubuntu 22.04 Linux and I get this weird error when I try and run my code:

Originally, I was running my board on Wayland, so I thought that might have been the issue. So I changed it to X11, but it still gave me the same error.
Next, I tried installing OpenCV by following the Khadas guide: https://docs.khadas.com/products/sbc/vim3/npu/opencv-dnn
This still creates the same error message.
I've checked a bunch of stack overflow pages but I could not find any solution to my issue.
Does anyone know what could be an issue?

Hey guys, I'm currently trying to run an openCV Python script on a Khadas VIM3 single-board computer. I made the script on my windows laptop originally and it all worked fine. However, my Khadas board runs on Ubuntu 22.04 Linux and I get this weird error when I try and run my code:

Originally, I was running my board on Wayland, so I thought that might have been the issue. So I changed it to X11, but it still gave me the same error.
Next, I tried installing OpenCV by following the Khadas guide: https://docs.khadas.com/products/sbc/vim3/npu/opencv-dnn
This still creates the same error message.
I've checked a bunch of stack overflow pages but I could not find any solution to my issue.
Does anyone know what could be an issue?
Specs: Khadas VIM3 Ubuntu 22.04 Python 3.10.12 Mediapipe 0.10.14 OpenCV-Python 4.9.0.80 Tensorflow 2.16.1

I haven't been playing for a long time, but I wanted to play as a mage character, so I started leveling fire. However, all fire seems to offer is damage, and I'm not sure if I like this style of gameplay. I looked into arcane and cursed, but both seem kind of boring to me. I'm very interested in the frost staff, but I really can't see it dealing damage. In my view, even if I spec it a lot, I'll struggle with damage or mana.
I have many questions, such as why people say that is one of the weapons that deals the most damage in the game if all it does is kiting?, I can't see it working in other content like 2v2 Hellgates. Can someone explain how it deals this much damage when spec'd and if it truly has high damage?
Also, which frost staff is good for each type of content? Is the standard staff good for open world PvE and small scale PvP like a 2v2 1v1? Sorry if I was rude at any point, I'm just seeking more knowledge. Thanks in advance for your understanding.

I play COD WM3 (2023) on PC with a 1440p 165Hz monitor. Low latency to the servers, still game's lagging as hell.
It is impossible to have 0 packet loss, low ping and still lag. Are those inside game metrics lying? It is impossible to play.
My PC specs are:

Nvidia 4070 TI
32 GB DDR5 6000Mhz
Windows 11 latest version
Latest drivers (MB and GPU).
My internet is very stable, with 500 Mbps down and 250 Mbps up FTTH. ISP router is in bridge mode and I am using a ASUS AX82U router. I play using network cable (CAT 6).
I play FIFA 24 online, it is almost perfect most of time. I play other offline games, no issues.
What is happening with COD on PC?? I've opened support tickets before and they don't know how to fix that.
I've recorded videos, showing I am always late in gunfights and enemies see me first half of a second.
The lag give me headache. I get stable 150 fps on all maps, GPU 70% to 80% of usage and CPU 40% to 60% of usage while playing.
My KD is most of the time negative. I used to kill 30 to 40 in most of the time. I got a 1.4 KD and suddenly, I can't kill anymore. It's been like that 3 months already.
Is there anyone else having that behavior???

First, sorry about my bad English :)
I'm finally planning on upgrading my system to a newer platform based on one of these cpu's: Ryzen 5 4500 or Ryzen 5 5500, keeping the other components.
My current PC specs:
• Core i7-3770@4.3Ghz • Cooler Master Hyper 212+ • Sapphire Pulse RX 6600 • ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 • HyperX Fury 2×8GB DDR3 1866Mhz • Crucial MX500 SATA3 1TB SSD • LG 24MP59G-P FHD@75Hz IPS FreeSync monitor • Seasonic Focus GX 650W 80Plus Gold
Some important things to consider in advance:
– I will keep on playing at 1080p, freesync enabled, with a maximum goal of 75fps on games (and I'm perfectly fine playing with at least 60fps). More fps is welcomed, of course – it will enable me to raise more graphical options – knowing that I use freesync/vsync, and after tweaking with graphics settings, I lock frames at 75)
– I don't care about "ultra" graphical settings. I'm happy playing my games with High/Very High options, and don't mind if I have to set a few graphical options to "Medium", or even to "Low", aiming that the majority of settings stay on High/Very High.
– I know that Ryzen 5 5600 is a popular choice for gamers nowadays because of it's price/performance, PCIe 4.0 support, cache size, etc. But consider what I've said above; furthermore I think that my RX 6600, despite being PCIe 4.0, doesn't have the 'horsepower' to fully saturate PCIe 3.0; that difference between PCIe 3 and PCIe 4 only becomes relevant on more high end GPU's.
These are the type of games I play:
Cyberpunk 2077, The Last Of Us, Uncharted, Deus Ex, Dishonored, Resident Evil, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Outer Wilds, Far Cry, Subnautica, Control, Stray, etc.
And here are some games I want to play in the future:
Cyberpunk: Phantom Liberty DLC, Alan Wake 2 (i7-3770 doesn't have AVX2), Horizon: Forbidden West, Ghost Of Tsushima, Dying Light 2: Stay Human, The Last Of Us part 2 Remake, Judas, A Plague Tale: Innocence, Red Dead Redemption 2.
My budget for cpu/mobo/ram is between 200€ to 220€ maximum.
What I have in mind is:
Motherboard: Asus Prime B550M-A 70€ (used). I need a board with 4 fan headers; this one has that.
Memory: Kingston Fury Beast 2×8GB DDR4 3200MHz 1R CL16 46€
As for CPU's, prices here in Portugal are as follows:
72€ Ryzen 5 4500
90€ Ryzen 5 3600
97€ to 100€ Ryzen 5 5500
125€ Ryzen 5 5600
My plan is to be able to play upcoming games with the majority, not all, of graphical settings at high/very high; locked, after tweaking options, at 75fps, for at least the next 2 to 3 years.
