2024.05.22 04:48 Dismal_Rain_5528 Advice on handling oppressive micromanagement situation

Micromanagement/narcissistic boss is pushing me to my breaking point and am unsure how to handle it.
I feel like I am being micromanaged at my WFH job and it is causing me a lot of stress. Our previous manager was wonderful and quit some months ago shortly after some of our employees were laid off. Here are some of the behaviors our lead/supervisor exhibits:
Tags me constantly in the Teams chat, and if I don't respond right away either continues tagging me or sends me a direct message
We are supposed to let others know in the chat when we are stepping away to work on an urgent task. When I do this I get less than 5 minutes of time before they are tagging me again asking me to drop what I'm doing and do something else
A client scheduled a meeting with myself and another manager, they called immediately after saying they must be included on all meetings
If a client requests something from me specifically, they rush to jump in ahead of me and does not allow me to take on the task or respond. They have taken over all group chats I had with clients and have to be copied on any email requesting my assistance. Now, I am also supposed to put all scheduled calls/tasks in our Outlook calendar.
If I take one of two 15 minute breaks, at the 14th or 15th minute they will be tagging me in the chat asking "are you back?"
We have a small team and staggered lunches. We are expected to not take breaks at all if anyone else is on lunch or break.
When I am out sick, they message or text me asking if I'll be in that day.
They type in Teams all day long, incessantly, telling us to do things but not actually helping with the massive workload
Overall, when this person is there I cannot get anything done. When they are not, I manage multiple clients, specialized tasks etc. with ease and efficiency (even though it is busy).
Our previous manager appreciated my skillset and gave me independence to complete things and the responsibility to manage important clients, which really built my confidence and made me feel important. Since this person was promoted and our other manager quit, they make me feel like I am a wage slave who is thrown around all day in to menial and repetitive tasks that I am not given time to complete before being told to do something else.
I feel constantly monitored, overworked and stressed - overall it has really demotivated me to the point where I have no enthusiasm for a job I previously enjoyed. On top of that, the whole team morale has decreased significantly.
I don't like leaving tasks unfinished that have my name attached to them. That is not how I work but I feel I'm being forced into doing so. This person has also stripped me of all opportunities to use my skillset to grow.
To top it all off, we have been understaffed for months and the company has not hired anyone new, despite claiming to be looking for new hires. I've passed my limit and not really sure whether to bring it up with the owner or just quit.

2024.05.22 04:45 Adept_Blackhand So I made a USSG fanfic

First of all, for someone who don't know, USSG is basically our Ursus girls, Zima and co. Basically, Children of Ursus is one of my favourite events and it may got hooked me to this game up to this day. So I wanted to make pretty much a continuation of that story, trying to keep the whole vibe of the original and making it lore accurate, but at the same time adding some new details that don't contradict the original. I wanna continue making this wall of text, but if you just don't want to read it, here's the link, really hope you'll like it:
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/14353680/1/A-Homeland-Within
It's not long.(I promise lmao)And I'm not a native English speaker, it may have some linguistic mistakes here and there, but I did a big job at polishing it. But if someone will point smth out, I'll be very grateful. Btw, hope that there is no problem with me sending a link to this website, I remember seeing a post in this sub that also promoted their fanfic with providing a link, so hope nothing changed, otherwise F. So, what I wanted to add is that I've been cooking this one for quite some time. And by that I mean 2 years exactly (or even more actually). What I made here is only a first chapter and an introduction to the whole story. I had a first version of the first chapter, but I found it too lame and simple, it's not worthy publishing, so I just spent an another year remaking it from 0. I had a lot of more in plans, more drama, more characters involved, more big stuff happening, more OCs (since it's kinda necessary here) etc. Mostly depends on people's interest. So anyway, once again, thank you if you gonna give a try.
P.S. - I was thinking about adding some artwork to make a cover, since it might boost some traffic, but I don't wanna steal anybody's work so I just put it this way. If someone can give an advice about that and clear my doubts, I'll be grateful.

2024.05.22 04:45 Still-Mistake-3621 Sly 4 Hard Target: RANT

Sly 4 Hard Target: RANT
I cannot for the life of me complete this damn segment I legit calculated the frequency of how fast sly would have to shoot the arrows on a target 120 arrows, in 1:50 ish minutes? So that is an average of 0.75 seconds per arrow hit And that's only if you never miss a single target down to the very last second.
You miss? Sucks to be you I guess! The wrong target moved overtop of it at the very last millisecond you were about to hit it? Just to add a little extra "fuck you" to this shit stain of a mission
After replaying it several times I finally got it By sheer dumb luck
If you don't hit the 10 point dragon at least once in your attempt, there's pretty much zero chance of winning
Anybody have trouble with this one as much as I do? I can't stand this mission Why did they have to make it so unnecessarily hard out of nowhere 😭

2024.05.22 04:45 RelativeOdd7274 How calculated do you think Lilly is?

So we obviously know Lilly rage baits. But just how calculated do you think she is? Some believe she was the one who leaked the OF pics or knew they were gonna get leaked. I believe she uses rage bait and further promoting of OF as a way to cope and as a “comeback.” I think she is really really hurting and tries to disguise it. What do you think?

2024.05.22 04:41 KaleidoArachnid How do people here feel about the TV show the Marginal Service?

I ask as I cannot recall anyone ever discussing the show here, so basically I was wondering if anyone was into the series as it used to be so infamous for its fanservice used in its promotional image.
Man that was quite a fascinating advertisement as I remember like it was yesterday when literally that was all anyone knew about the show as the teaser poster showed a bunch of characters getting in the buff, and that must’ve been the selling point that got people into the series so easily, even if there was a much tamer poster released later on.

2024.05.22 04:38 Jumpy_Diver7748 The Simple Domino Math by Qinalo

Hello Snap community. My name's Qinalo. If you've known me before, whether through reddit, KM's Discord, or the Snap Discord, you should know me most for one of 2 things -
  1. I've played Hela since season 13 last June with a 63+% winrate each season
  2. I am a Domino-truther
And these 2 things are related. You see, my favorite card in Snap is Jubilee. I play Hela because Hela is a deck that plays Jubilee. And I am a Domino-truther because my favorite card is Jubilee.
If I'm being honest, I often don't like being a Domino-truther. You can't be a Domino-truther if you are thin-skinned and bad at maths like KMBest (KMBest said himself that he can't do the Domino math on his podcast with Lamby). I have gotten into so many online debates over Domino in the past 10 months, at some point you get sick of it. Saying that Domino is a good card in some decks is one of those unpopular opinions that seem to trigger many in our community. But I guess that's the funny thing about being a truther - once you've had your moment on the way to Damascus, it's a cross you have to bear. Because truth can't be denied. There are FOUR LIGHTS!
When I started playing Domino, America Chavez was still 6/9 with her old ability. At the time, I played Domino in an Iron Lad deck with Jubilee, my favorite card. Then, when Loki came out, I played Domino in a deck with Loki, Iron Lad and Jubilee. This seemed to mystify and sometimes anger people. Still, if they asked, I would explain the reason to them. This was one example from 9 months ago-
Domino serves a lot of roles in the deck that give you an edge in the mirror. She's here to~
Improve your Jubilee and Lad pulls
Improve your draws after you Loki - drawing Domino early means Prof X and Dino are more likely still in your deck late
Improve your odds of Snowguard in opening hand to 40% with Chavez
Protect Loki from getting sniped by Dani (Mirage) in the mirror
Guarantee a T2 play so you don't lose a draw by playing Coulson
Act as a brick pull for your opponent's Loki
Help win priority on turn 3 for Cosmo
Confuses and tilts opponents
So yes, last week KMBest correctly pointed out that one reason to play Domino is to increase your chance of drawing your 1s on turn 1, but he's couldn't do the Domino math to figure out the rest.
The question is - why is Domino good in Jubi-Blink decks?
I read on reddit that Jeff Hoogland did the math on his stream that the chance of drawing the Jubilee-Blink combo is 73% without Domino, and 69% with Domino, so playing Domino is 4% worst. Hoogland did the obvious math to the wrong problem - I'm not surprised since he does say that he used be a high school math teacher. Also, clearly Jubilee is not his favorite card.
You see, the Domino math that explains why Domino is good in Jubilee-Blink decks is actually very simple, and you don't need a calculator or a college education to do it.
Yes, playing Domino hurts your probabilIty of drawing the T4 Jubilee, T5 Blink combo.
Yes, playing Domino hurts your probability of drawing Blink BY turn 5.
But -
What if what matters isn't drawing Blink BY turn 5, but instead what you wanted is to draw Blink ON turn 5, and not before? The solution to the problem is very obvious if you approach it as someone who loves to play Jubilee in Snap.
In Snap, you have 12 cards in a deck. Before each match, the 12 cards are shuffled into a random order. We can number them 1 to 12, 1-3 being the cards in your opening hand and 12 being the bottom.
When you play Jubilee a lot, you realize that when you play Jubilee on turn 4, what you care about is the #8 card - the top card, the card you would usually draw on turn 5. As I alluded to above, Jubilee is not the only card that cares about the #8 card - Iron Lad cares about the same card, as does Loki (indirectly). When you are playing any of these 3 cards, which card is the #8 card makes a very big difference to whether or not you will win or lose the match. And the reason to play Domino, the reason why Domino's ability is good, is that Domino's ability sees to it that she is NOT card #8. Nor #9, nor #10, nor #11.
So the math that solves the problem of why Domino is good in this deck is, as I said, very simple.
Without Domino, the chance that any specific card is card #8 is 1/12, or 8.3%.
With Domino, the chance that any specific card is card #8 is 1/11, or 9.1%. Same with card #9 and card #10.
Ok, so how does Domino help Blink? Well, Domino doesn't directly help Blink, but she does help Blink indirectly, and she helps Blink decks. Domino doesn't help BlInk directly because obviously you don't usually want to Jubilee INTO Blink (although that is not a disaster either). But Domino does help Blink indirectly, because there is a very good reason to not want to draw Blink BEFORE turn 5 - Leech (at least for now). Domino helps Blink decks because Blink decks play cards that are good Jubilee hits, cards that you want to be #8, #9 or #10.
So Domino is a good card for a deck that is playing both Jubilee and Blink. On the other hand, Jubilee-Blink isn't the best deck for Domino, because Jubilee-Blink has a specific combo it wants to hit. Domino is better in decks like Iron Lad or Loki that doesn't care about hitting a specific card #8, when any 5 or 6 cost card is a good Lad hit or topdeck draw on turn 5 or turn 6. Which is usually good enough.
So in other words, Domino's ability helps your deck draw its early plays ON turns 1 and 2, and helps your deck draw your late game plays ON turns 5 and 6. To me that's a very good ability and one that I've found that helps me win more than most other 2 cost cards. I prefer draw my small cards early and my big cards late, and not the other way around, and Domino helps with that, seems to me like a valuable ability. Where Domino does hurt most is on turn 3, so a deck playing Domino needs to have more turn 3 plays than usual. Zabu used to solve this issue easily by turning your 4 cost cards into turn 3 plays. Domino hurting your probability of drawing a specific card BY a specific turn diminishes as a match progresses, and is minimal to trivial by the final turn compared to playing any other normal card in your deck.
Anyway, I decided to write this so that in the future if someone asks why I'm playing Domino I can just refer them to this and make my life as a Domino-truther suck less.
The name is Qinalo, mon ami. Remember it...

2024.05.22 04:37 Big_Kick2928 I'm being offered a sous chef position that requires me to work 10-12 hours a day, 6 days a week, with a slightly low yearly salary. Is it worth it?

I need advice from experienced chefs here.
I'm being offered a sous chef position that requires me to work 10-12 hours a day, 6 days a week, with a slightly low yearly salary. Is it worth it?
Here's something about me. I'm 28 years old with 5 years of experience and culinary school. I'm currently a junior sous chef being paid hourly. I'm very passionate about cooking. I aspire to be a head chef or executive chef in the future, and I want to gain experience to achieve that goal.
But I don't think the salary I'll be receiving is worth all the hard work. If you do the math, my current hourly rate is higher than the potential yearly salary when calculated on an hourly basis. Wayyyyy higher.
To all the passionate chefs here, should I decline the offer and stick to my current position or should I accept the promotion?
Serious genuine question here, respectful answers would be appreciated.

2024.05.22 04:37 STEM-expert Throwing the towel (selling both Irelia project prestige skin account)

So I have this fun gameplay gimmick to keep league fun.
I pick one champ that I go from bronze to emerald using only one champ. It can be a high skill champ like Vayne, Yas, zed or enchanter like yuumi and nami.
I have played league on and off since 2010/2011 and usually play it during sprints but not consistently/daily over the entire year. usually maxing out at around 600 games a year. I'm old school diamond and currently emerald 1 hard-stuck.
I'm used to a champ being a little difficult at first but then exponentially getting better and quickly reaching plat 1/emerald. from the dussins of champs I have played over the years, by far the hardest to get to emerald was Vayne...untill now
Irelia is by far the most soul crushing RNG/counter pick/lane cripple fiesta champ I have ever seen. This image with the exception of Kayle, perfectly sums up why it's just not fun to play Irelia. I am fully aware that a near-perfect or amazing irelia player can just about win every match up. but using the 0.1-0.01% bench mark of a player pool to justify the power design of a champ is the most absurd thing I have ever seen. I put in 600 games into Irelia in the span of 3-4 months and I was unable to reach platinum 2 before mid season patch reset the number.
There is so much wrong with this champion in its core I dont even know where to begin with the most critical weakness of Irelia. Her whole kit is designed around AA's and riot has just about crippled the shit out of her dmg output by nerfing BOTRK and pumping up a tank meta by having every item give a absurd amount of armor whilst giving them a lot of fightebrawler-like damage, if you play against a tank, 9/10 games the game will quickly turn into a farming simulator. no point in engaging and no point in harassing and no way to dmg turret since if you try and AA, you will get heavily punished and most likely killed.
The team play needed with Irelia is not viable in lower elos since your teammates dont have the IQ to work together and having Irelia in the open (without a sneak flash all in) is just not worth it. ALSO. this champ is INSANELY flash reliant which is also a great weakness, that means you can only effectively engage once every 300 seconds.
Saddest part of all, Irelia is by far the most FUN-gameplay design of any champ in league so far. making crazy plays like the ones you see Irelking pull of gives me such a high it kept me addicted to league 4x more often than previous years. but inevitably I see the same trend.
EVERY TOP WILL COUNTER PICK (or unknowingly)
MOST CHAMPS ARE A UPHILL BATTLE TO PLAY ON EVEN GROUND
REALLY HARD TO SPLIT-PUSH, PLAY SAFE, TAKE OBJECTIVES OR COORDINATE WITH TEAM.
Which consistently results in me asking the question: "Why bother playing such a omega-skill champ if league fundamentally does not reward high-skill gameplay, but power-based gameplay. The fun of amazing plays is outshadowed by overwhelming majority of lane-bullying and counter picking."
it blows my mind how champs like camille can avoid any gank by pressing 1 ability whilst I get gang-trained on by movement speed champs like WW,Heca, Udyr etc...Its so bad I dont even have flash in such games because flash has insane high CD and they put no effort in taking it from me. better to just go TP Ignite.
I banned garen literally 599/600 games and the one game I dont ban him, to see if he even exists in the ELO, some brain dead moron picks him and dominates the lane. Out of roughly 20-22 champions that I have sought out to reach emerald/plat 1 in the past 3 or so years, it is only with Irelia where I am quite simply hard-stuck with.
lastly. who is the idiot that decided Irelia's non-q abilities should have such a absurd high mana cost in early game. what the actual f. HOW THE FUCK DO YOU JUSTIFY IT WHEN YOU HAVE CHAMPS LIKE YONE that can endlessly cast spells with high dmg/utility, low cds and no mana cost.
I'm giving up on my Irelia account so I want to ask
does anyone want to buy my account with PROJECT PRESTIGE AND PROJECT PRESTIGE 2022? BID STARTS AT 100 USD (EUNE)

2024.05.22 04:35 Student-Normal Gurus and Warrior Trading

There are so many questions about thr gurus out there, some are hated, some are fiercely defended, and they all have something else to sell you.
One that is both fiercely hated and fiercely defended is Ross Cameron with Warrior Trading.
The typical discussion runs to his 3 million dollar lawsuit from the FTC, he got sued must be a bad guy discussion (a lot of business owners deal with lawsuits).
I was looking at the FTC ruling and when outlining some of the prohibited actions under the FTC it says
"IT IS ORDERED that Defendants, Defendants’ officers, agents, employees, and attorneys, and all other persons in active concert or participation with any of them, who receive actual notice of this Order, whether acting directly or indirectly, in connection with promoting or offering for sale any good or service are permanently restrained and enjoined from making any Earnings Claims or assisting others in making any Earnings Claims, expressly or by implication, unless the Earnings Claim is non-misleading, and, at the time such claim is made, Defendants: (1) have a reasonable basis for the claim; (2) have in their possession written materials that substantiate the claim; and (3) make the written substantiation available upon request to the consumer, potential purchaser, or the FTC."
Earning Claims are defined as “Earnings Claim(s)” means any representation to a consumer, specific or general, about income, financial gains, percentage gains, profit, net profit, gross profit, or return on investment. Earnings Claims include: (1) any chart, table, or mathematical calculation that demonstrates possible results based upon a combination of variables; (2) any statements from which a prospective purchaser can reasonably infer that he or she will earn a minimum level of income (e.g., “earn enough to buy a Porsche,” “earn a six-figure income,” or “earn your investment back within one year”); and (3) any statements, claims, success stories, endorsements, or testimonials about the performance or profitability of representatives, endorsers, instructors or customers"
Now the question/discussion he repeatedly Claims in videos he turned $583 into $10,000,000, and the FTC fling explicitly states "Earnings Claim is non-misleading, and, at the time such claim is made, Defendants: (1) have a reasonable basis for the claim; (2) have in their possession written materials that substantiate the claim" while there are definitely people lying on the internet is it fair to say he did in fact make $10,000,000 since he made this claim prior to his run in with the FTC and that his "3rd party audited broker statements" aren't a farce? There is no mention that any of the FTC judgments are for misrepresentations of his earnings.
Or can someone smarter than me explain why he can still claim this even if it's bs?

I'm looking for help identifying a game my daughter played on a Mac Classic G3 around 2011 when she was 5 years old. The Mac classic G3 computer had been left behind by previous tenants / owners of a property in 2011. It's likely the game was pretty old at that point.
I have spent an extensive amount of time searching the usual online databases without success. It makes me wonder if it may have been a shareware release or released with a mac magazine rather than a very well known game.
If anyone can help we'd greatly appreciate it.

2024.05.22 04:15 Dismal_Rain_5528 Micromanagement pushing me to my breaking point and unsure how to handle it

2024.05.22 04:00 ActuaryDataPicks 🏉 NRL TryScorer Bingo Analysis 🏉

This is a market offered by some bookies where at least 1 player per jersey number 1 through to 13 has to score a try. Usually pays $5-$6. This is my analysis of the historical hit rate since 2013 after filtering out bye affected rounds (i.e. less than 8 games for the round)
2013: 4/20 implied odds 5.00
2014: 5/19 implied odds 3.80
2015: 1/20 implied odds 20.00
2016: 2/20 implied odds 10.00
2017: 7/20 implied odds 2.86
2018: 6/23 implied odds 3.83
2019: 6/23 implied odds 3.83
From 2020 the NRL changed rules significantly which lead to higher scoring
2020: 6/20 implied odds 3.33
2021: 6/23 implied odds 3.83
2022: 5/23 implied odds 4.60
2023: 8/21 implied odds 2.63
2024: 5/11 implied odds 2.20
Key Take aways - Implied odds since 2020 are 3.26, since 2013 are 3.98 - Bingo has only occured once during a bye affected round (2016), meaning there is no point playing this market during bye rounds - Emergence of guys like Hazleton, Stefano and AFB has been great for this market, however they all play as number 8
Conclusion This market appears to be value if you're getting above $5 odds based on the empirical odds. There are more forward looking ways of calculating the true odds of this market eg by assessing the bookie odds for players of each position. You would need to assume market consensus odds as try scorer odds can vary significantly across bookies. Bookie odds also may not be accurate in assessing likelihood of the outcome occurring either. I might make a follow up post on this using Round 12 bookie odds.
Personally I have never bet on this market but if I ever see $6 for this, I would take it. You probably want to make sure the following guys are playing though
8s: Hazleton (14%), AFB (14%) Papalli (8%), Stefano (8%)
10s: Haas (9%), NAS (7% but has been coming off the bench recently), DSaf (5%) Note 10s appear to be the hardest number to hit
13s: Murray (18% but currently injured), Jurbo (13% but would have this much lower at this stage of his career), Hopgood (11%), Radley (11%)
9s: Surprisingly the top 4 hit rates since 2013 all currently still play. These are Grant (24%), Mahoney (18%), Robson (16%), Joey Lussick (16%)

2024.05.22 03:58 marbles12 Reaching 2 YOE at my first job and want to ask for a raise. Looking for advice.

I recently reached two years working at my first engineering job. The company has been great, and I've never had any issues with them.
I was hired at an $80K salary and live in a HCOL area (the company is based in another state). Since it was my first and only offer, I didn’t really have any leverage (and didn’t know how) to negotiate, so I just took it. In the two years I've worked there, I've never asked for a raise (stupid on my part).
However, recently my team has gone through some shifts, and we’ve hired new engineers that I’m helping to onboard.
I looked at the average salary in the city where the company is based, and it seems to range between $95K and $110K. My workload hasn’t really changed, but some of my engineer friends convinced me that I should ask for a raise at this point since I’m comparatively underpaid. I’m aiming to simply match the salary of other engineers in that city ($100K), specially since the company has been growing a lot in the past two years and have reached some significant milestones.
I’m looking for some feedback on how to approach this and advice on how to bring it up with tact. I’d also like to note that my engineering manager just got promoted and is brand new to the role (if that even matters).
Is what i’m asking unreasonable? Thoughts?

2024.05.22 03:54 lavardera White Paper on alternate to Code required R20+R5 continuous

Quick Summary & Link: The IRC code's format for expressing the Minimum R-Values (via Table R402.1.3) in the format such as 20&5ci, or 13+10ci promotes a bias (unintentional) towards satisfying the requirement for continuous insulation by using continuous Exterior insulation. I contend that there are much simpler, easier, and less technically challenging ways to build a wall assembly that satisfies this insulation requirement without Exterior continuous insulation.
White Paper 20+6fci wall 14Nov2.pdf https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/hf23xgkwmdjrzb89qynh0/White-Paper-20-6fci-wall-14Nov2.pdf?rlkey=q6zr9y6r13nuprkehdjtepji6&dl=0
Detailed Summary:
In NJ we have adopted the 2021 version of the IBC and IRC at the beginning of 2023, and along with the new code came requirements for higher insulation values. Previously under the 2018 version code could be satisfied by a 2x6 wall with R20, or a 2x4 wall with R13 and R5 continuous insulation. Now under the 2021 version the whole State must provide R20 + R5 continuous, or R13 + R10 continuous, or a single cavity wall of R30. I've found that during the past year that every builder I discussed this with was unaware of the change - and some I caught in mid-bid where they had gravely mis-estimated the work they would need to supply. Furthermore over half the architects I spoke to about this were also unaware of the change.
I became very concerned because the overwhelming implication is that the continuous insulation layer must be at the exterior, and I was witnessing an entire State of builders being thrown into detailing flashing and water tightness with an exterior layer of insulation which they had zero experience with. There are alternates to this, and in fact the 2021 code introduced a table of minimum U-Factor values which bypasses the familiar table of insulation values. Another run-around is the Res-Check software package where the option to measure the total performance can prove compliance with alternate assemblies. However builders certainly, and admittedly most architects are not in the routine of calculating U-Values of their wall assemblies, and in fact Res-Check is quite limited in the format of data entry for insulation - its cavity or continuous only.
Some may argue that the code does not require the continuous layer to be exterior, but that does not hold up. The rush of material manufacturers to bring to market products that are specifically aimed at R5 continuous exterior insulation is palpable. Sheathings with insulation laminated, rigid insulation with air water barrier pre-laminated, dense and rigid batts are all being touted as the solution. These companies have invested millions in developing and promoting products to answer what is obviously a call to exterior insulation in the building code.
So I along with a couple of colleagues from New England who have already been working under the R20+5continuous requirement for many years have written a White Paper to document compliance of a greatly simplified compliant wall assembly consisting of R20+R6 furred continuous insulation located at the interior. This requires much less work than continuous exterior insulation, and more importantly requires no new skills or techniques for successfully flashing and making the exterior side weather tight. And the performance is marginally better than R5 continuous.
It is our intention to share this widely, so that architects and builders are not caught unprepared for the new code requirements when and if they come to your location the way they have just landed on New Jersey. The white paper can be downloaded from this link:

2024.05.22 03:51 ViceVersaMedia [24M] Has anyone ever felt fraudulent and completely useless in their career?

For reference: I’m an engineer that works on aerospace electrical systems, and I’ve been in this job for 2 years.
I’m currently on my first business trip to hash out the design implementation for an initiative I’m supposedly a big part of. Day 1 was mostly my teammates and I getting acclimated and bonding. It went much better than I expected, since I’m usually a nervous wreck who rarely speaks. But I was able to be myself for once and actually felt apart of the team.
Then Day 2 comes (today), with the first round of technical discussions. Barely said a single word the entire day. My manager and I had an understanding this would largely be informative for me, but I still felt…gross. The technical/schedule discussions largely went over my head, then I was awkward at the happy hour afterwards since I’m very obviously not among my peers. Everyone involved is completely out of my league, actually. They’re all so well-spoken, intelligent, witty, and they understand the system on the same fundamental level (which likely helps with banter). I can barely write notes fast enough to keep up with their trains of thought. I feel embarrassed that I’ve wasted the company’s money coming out here, I’m completely inconsequential.
I’m only 2 years into my career, but it’s not like many of the major players are much further along (5-6 years). I’m starting to think I just don’t have the aptitude for this, or anything really. I’m not sure how I got promoted last week, I am not like these people and may never be. I’ve been wanting to get a shotgun and blow my brains out all day. I lied about feeling nauseous to avoid going to the happy hour with the vendors/customer who probably wonder why the hell I’m even here. I’m not sure where to go with my life at this point.

2024.05.22 03:33 Ecstatic_Plastic_428 Is It Possible to quickly change Careers?

I’ll be 30 in August and I’ve been basically doing administrative work my entire adult life. I’ve been at a great company for 2.5 years and haven’t had one promotion. I’m the last in my cohort still entry level, everyone has either been fired or promoted, some promoted twice by now.
I feel so stagnant and I’m self conscious about being behind and now I’m at a point where I can’t afford to make this entry level money, I make around $57K after bonuses. It’s not enough to afford a place in this city, I’ve been living at home and to say my mental health has declined is an understatement.
Anyways, I feel like I need to pivot and learn a skill. I’m ok with busy work long as it’s kind of mind stimulating, I’m kind of an introvert and would prefer non-public facing work, but can fake it enough if there’s a lot of internal collaboration.
Is there a career that I can look into that doesn’t quite require a degree but maybe a quick cert or 2? Doesn’t have to be tech, I’m opened to anything. I just want to find what I’m good at, make around $65K-85K starting out and not take years doing because I feel like I’m out of time.
