2024.05.20 23:11 TheFakeChiefKeef This low pressure draft should be seen as an opportunity to make simple choices about roster construction and depth
We've all had a chance to lament over drafting #5 again after being the worst team in the league. We've also had time to evaluate this draft class and determine that none of these players are going to get the Pistons over the hump next season. So where does that leave the team?
Well, I think this could be seen as an opportunity to identify solid talent while also being realistic about how good our pick can be and needs to be. This is a draft full of guys who can be solid options 3-5 in the starting lineup. We've been disappointed by guys who were hailed as future stars when we drafted them with the expectation that they would become such: Hayes, KCP, Stanley, Ivey, Ausar, Kennard. We've seen guys get drafted in the first round and we're just like "WHO???": Ellenson, Sekou. We've failed to develop guys who actually did have some NBA potential: Middleton, Dinwiddie, Bruce. We've been starving in the draft for over a decade for reasons of fit, coaching, and clearly wrong decisions.
So now we're getting near to the draft, and we're drafting 5. Here are the top 4 projections on some NBA news/analysis outlets:
ESPN: Risacher, Sarr, Clingan, Dillingham
CBS: Sarr, Risacher, Castle, Holland
Tankathon: Topic, Risacher, Sarr, Sheppard
Ringer: Sarr, Topic, Castle, Dillingham
BR: Holland, Sheppard, Topic, Sarr
So sitting at 5 with 8 players named by most outlets in the top 4, this draft is clearly all over the place. Therefore, we need to be looking at fit and NBA readiness as our main priorities. Personally, I think this means drafting someone older, familiar with the American game, and who can score right away.
That pick is obviously Dalton Knecht.
Knecht is buckets from the wing, athletic, and not a literal child. He's familiar with the American game, and he is clearly the best fit on this roster. If we draft Knecht, we're one solid FA role player signing from running this lineup:
Starters: Cade/Knecht/AusaTecc/Duren
Bench: Ivey/SasseFA or Grimes/FA or Stew/FA or Stew
Reserves: Who the hell cares, some of these chumps will have to be re-signed. I could see us keeping any of Metu, Fournier, Flynn, or Brown to play reserve minutes. God, I hope we dump Wiseman. It would probably be smart to pick up a center.
That lineup works. Maybe not contender-level works, but it works. There would be spacing, improved defense, and we can finally put to rest any indication that Cade and Ivey can both start while also letting Ivey run a bench unit that fits his skillset better. There's no pressure on Knecht to be the #1 scoring option, or even #2 for that matter.
Understanding that not one move is going to make this team competitive next season is step 1. The goal needs to be realistic improvements to our main weakness, which is players on the wing who can shoot and play defense. Knecht is the right high-minutes role player.

2024.05.20 20:50 AIbioscientist Fixing ED permanently - life goal for now
My ED is ruining my life.
I have some idea about what type of ED I have and I am on a mission to cure it. When I was 18 I had some difficulty getting an erection until my first successful intercourse. After that I was in good shape until I was about 55 years old (I am 63 now). My wife was mentally and physically abusive, snored very loud, and lost interest in sex the way that worked for me. I started sleeping in another room and continued to use porn and masturbation to have some outlet. I used porn since I was 13 and masturbated daily, sometimes 3-5 times per day. When my wife demanded sex after the age of 55, I could not perform, she was revolting TBH. Now that I am divorced I have started dating again, but the ED is still here. I have tadalaifil, and that helps but only with morning wood, it still does nothing for arousal. I tried pt141 and that makes me very sensitive, and just a little stimulation but I still made me rock hard, and I still had problems getting hard enough when I needed to, then I developed severe side effects to pt141 and cannot do that any more.
My very sexual partner gave up on me pretty quickly and, was not willing to work with me to fix my ED so we broke up. I had another partner with little success. Even with porn it was difficult to get hard enough for penetration.
I am in fairly good physical shape. I run daily and lift weights. My blood pressure is normal. I had my testosterone tested, and the doctor said it was normal: Total 574, Free 51.3, Bioavailable: 101.0 (low). Sex hormone binding globulin: 54.3, albumin: 4.3. My BMI is 26.8
I get erections in the morning and can stay hard for a long time, sometimes an hour or more, with manual stimulation. If I had a partner right now, that might be a good time to take advantage of it. I also get hard during masturbation but only with visual stimulation or a super-erotic thought and only for a minute or two before orgasm. I use lube, and not the death grip.
This is almost certainly psychogenic ED. The fact that I get hard in the morning is the strongest indication. I want to cure this permanently. I know that there are men who can get hard and stay hard at my age and can control their erections with their brains. How can I do that? Is there some biofeedback, meditation, hypnotherapy, coaching, training, education, or anything that can make me into a hard on demand man?

2024.05.20 02:14 Starspangle223 Am I the problem?
I am a 29/M and have been dating a girl for a couple years now. We have fun going on date nights and such but I feel like this isn’t going anywhere, when I would love to continue to grow together it feels like she is stagnant in life. She still lives at home, which isn’t a problem. Works part time and mainly sleeps all day and has very low energy to do any sort of activities other than going out for a bi-weekly dinner. I’m very active and would love to do active things together even if it was just going on walks with the dog, but even then it’s like pulling teeth. I try to persuade her to better herself and do these things but I’m caring about it more than she is. Which isn’t sustainable at all. I’m looking for things to justify the next step like moving in or eventually marriage but everything I’m seeing tells me that’s not coming. I try to be as supportive as I can and coach or motivate her to no avail. Which makes me ask am I the problem? Am I expecting too much or asking for too much? I don’t like to put people in this cookie cutter idea of what a “perfect” partner may be because I feel it’d be hard to find some one who checks all those boxes but the more time that passes I’m seeing less boxes checked than I’d expect or want. I don’t have many outlets to talk this through and I’ve tried to talk to her about it and she promises change but her actions say otherwise. I feel like I am just wasting my time at this point and setting myself up for future heartbreak. Any advice or help would be appreciated, thank you!
TL;DR Feeling I am putting so much into someone who doesn’t want to put anything into their self. Looking to make the next step but feeling like the signs aren’t there. Am I expecting too much?

2024.05.19 23:00 agileideation Transforming Workplaces into Sanctuaries of Mental Wellness: Small Steps, Big Impact
This Mental Health Awareness Month, we're diving deep into how we can revolutionize our workplaces to be more supportive and nurturing environments. As we know, the impact of organizational culture on employee well-being cannot be overstated. A positive work environment not only enhances productivity but also contributes to the overall mental health of everyone involved.
The Starting Point
It begins with understanding that mental health in the workplace is not just an HR agenda—it's a leadership one. The question facing us isn't about the resources needed to initiate mental health initiatives but about the potential costs of ignoring them. So, where do we start?
Small Initiatives, Significant Outcomes
Wellness Programs: These can range from physical activities to mental breaks designed to encourage mindfulness or creativity. The goal is to offer outlets for stress relief and mental rejuvenation. Mental Health Awareness Days: By dedicating days to mental health awareness, we can destigmatize conversations about mental health issues and encourage openness and support within the team. Access to Mental Health Professionals: Providing employees with access to workshops or counseling can demonstrate a deep commitment to their well-being, beyond just the professional facade. Engagement and Feedback: The Heart of the Matter
The effectiveness of any initiative hinges on its relevance and accessibility to the intended beneficiaries. Thus, incorporating feedback mechanisms and encouraging participation in the development of mental health programs is key. This approach not only ensures that the initiatives are well-received but also fosters a culture of inclusivity and respect.
A Call to Leadership
As leaders, our role transcends mere management. It's about creating an environment where every team member feels valued, supported, and understood. This Mental Health Awareness Month, let’s commit to taking actionable steps toward cultivating a workplace that prioritizes mental wellness as much as professional achievement.
What Next?
I'm here to facilitate this journey. Through coaching, we can explore strategies to enhance your leadership skills, ensuring that you're equipped to support your team's mental health effectively. Together, we can transform organizational cultures, one step at a time.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas on this topic. What initiatives have you found effective in your workplace? Or, what do you wish your workplace would implement to support mental wellness?
Let's make our workplaces a model for mental health and well-being.

- 5-18-2024 HAVE SMARTPHONES KILLED THE ART OF CONVERSATION? Once upon a time, human relationships unfolded without smartphones. The reality may be hard to recall, so profoundly have these devices transformed the way we relate to the world and others in fifteen years or so. As an anthropologist interested in modernity, I am particularly preoccupied by the impact of these devices on our conversations. In my book, “The End of the Conversation? Words in a Spectral Society” (French original: “La fin de la conversation? La parole dans une société spectrale”), I investigate the pernicious effects of this technology
- 5-18-2024 HOW TO REWARD EMPLOYEES FAIRLY AND IMPROVE TEAM DYNAMICS A recent study has shed light on how to reward employees more fairly and improve team dynamics. The study found that when less skilled employees report their performance voluntarily, they often exaggerate their achievements and ask for higher bonuses. These employees also tend to put in less effort and are less concerned about fairness when sharing their contributions voluntarily. Interestingly, the researchers discovered that requiring employees to explain their contributions leads to fairer decisions about bonus allocation and improves
- 5-19-2024 BILLIONS ARE SPENT ON EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY, BUT WE DON’T KNOW IF IT WORKS During the COVID lockdowns, schools and universities worldwide relied on education technology—edtech—to keep students learning. They used online platforms to give lessons, mark work and send feedback, used apps to teach and introduced students to programs that let them work together on projects. In the aftermath of school closures, the market for edtech has kept on growing. The value of the sector is projected to rise to US$132.4 billion globally by 2032. The problem is that we don’t know very much about how effective many edtech apps or programs

- 5-18-2024 WHEN CONSUMERS WOULD PREFER A CHATBOT OVER A PERSON Actually, sometimes consumers don’t want to talk to a real person when they’re shopping online, a new study suggests. In fact, what they really want is a chatbot that makes it clear that it is not human at all. In a new study, researchers found that people preferred interacting with chatbots when they felt embarrassed about what they were buying online—items like antidiarrheal medicine or, for some people, skin care products. “In general, research shows people would rather interact with a human customer service agent

Companies like IBM, Volkswagen and Starbucks are moving to more participative strategy development approaches that reflect a growing understanding of the importance of diversity in fostering innovative and creative strategic ideas. Yet the outcomes of inclusive strategy processes often fall short of expectations. A new study in the Strategic Management Journal sheds light on why that may be. - 5-18-2024 STUDY FINDS AVOIDING SOCIAL MEDIA BEFORE AN ELECTION HAS LITTLE TO NO EFFECT ON PEOPLE’S POLITICAL VIEWS In the weeks before and after the 2020 presidential election, researchers ran a number of tests to try to understand how much Facebook and its corporate cousin, Instagram, may be contributing to the nation’s political divide. One of those experiments—led by Matthew Gentzkow and Hunt Allcott, economics professors at Stanford University—centered on more than 35,000 Facebook and Instagram users who were paid to stay off the platforms in the run-up to Election Day. There’s a lot that researchers could glean from the social media hiatus, including whether people’s political attitudes

Cognitive biases are among the most important factors that prevent people from changing their minds. However, opinion dynamics are also influenced by a factor that the researchers call “ambiguity noise.” Unlike biases, ambiguity noise is variable, depends on many random factors, and leads to inconsistent judgment.

- 5-18-2024 WHY STUDENTS CHEAT IN ONLINE EXAMS Media psychologists at the University of Cologne have studied how students’ individual needs, conceptions and reasons relate to cheating behavior in online exams. Online exams have become a more common type of exam at universities, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic. They are advantageous because they save time and offer flexibility. However, cheating attempts present a big challenge for lecturers. This is why universities have been working on ways to thwart cheating in online exams by putting organizational and technical measures into place.

Seventy-eight percent of people in England and Wales think that crime has gone up in the last few years, according to the latest survey. But the data on actual crime shows the exact opposite. As of 2024, violence, burglary and car crime have been declining for 30 years and by close to 90%, according to the Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW)—our best indicator of true crime levels. Unlike police data, the CSEW is not subject to variations in reporting and recording. The drop in violence includes domestic violence

Cognitive psychologist Iliana Samara discovered that men, in particular, tend to overestimate the interest of their date. She explains why this may be. “Imagine you walk into a packed bar, looking for a date. Your eyes are naturally drawn to attractive faces. If you’re a man and find someone attractive, you’re more likely to assume they’re also interested in you. “Then, when you approach them, whether you’re a man or woman

But those benefits are also contagious, say the co-authors of a new working paper. “It’s not just that the individuals who have more years of education are in better health,” said David M. Cutler, Otto Eckstein Professor of Applied Economics. “It’s that even people with fewer years of education—for example, people with just a high school degree—are in better health when they live around

Many people practice mindfulness or self-compassion techniques in their everyday life as part of their normal self-care routine. Although many studies support the individual benefits of mindfulness and self-compassion, few have focused on romantic relationship outcomes. A new study published in Personal Relationships has examined how mindfulness, self- and other-compassion, and need fulfillment relate to relationship and sexual satisfaction in midlife married couples. Brands like Mattel, once criticized for promoting unrealistic body standards and gender stereotypes, now portray themselves as feminist and progressive. - 5-18-2024 ALLYSHIP IS ESSENTIAL TO NEW MOTHERS RETURNING TO WORK, SAYS STUDY Returning to work after parental leave can be one of the most challenging experiences for any parents, especially mothers, to navigate. Fortunately, there are simple, kind and thoughtful ways in which organizational members—regardless of formal status, parental identity or gender identity—can help mothers feel supported as they return to work, which can also benefit job satisfaction and maternal well-being.
- 5-18-2024 STUDY FINDS SAYING ‘PLEASE’ MAY NOT BE SO POLITE IN EVERYDAY REQUESTS By kindergarten age, most children have been taught that “please” is a magic word. “Please” is an expression of politeness that shows courtesy and respect, turning a potential demand into a request that will—poof!—magically be granted. But a new study on the ways people make requests of one another suggests that “please” might not be an all-purpose marker of politeness, but rather a more focused, strategic tool to manage frictions or obstacles among family members, friends and even coworkers.
- 5-18-2024 MILITARY RANK AFFECTS MEDICAL CARE, OFFERING SOCIETAL INSIGHTS: STUDY Stock project from Pexels Human relationships are inherently shaped by power dynamics, yet quantifying their impact has remained a scientific challenge. Now, a large new study published Thursday in the journal Science reveals that military doctors give more attention to higher-ranked patients, providing concrete evidence about the privileges that come with elevated status, frequently at the expense of the less powerful. “One of the things we are trying to show is that this is not a military-specific analysis,”

These are polarizing, hot-button issues. While there have been legislative and social advances for LGBTQ+ rights, ignorance and discrimination persist and continue to negatively affect the lives of many. On May 17, the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, UdeMNouvelles asked two Université de Montréal professors and researchers who are experts in the field to share their views.

One area where this impact is particularly significant is in the organization of production chains—specifically the way goods are made and distributed. A new study from the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business advances understanding of the U.S. production chain evolution amidst technological progress in information technology (IT), shedding light on the complex connections between business IT investments and organizational design. 2024.05.18 08:31 carebearanon Anyone know which Coach line this is?
| I’m trying to ID this for a friend. This is the Coach Legacy Mini Tanner bag (I believe? But could be wrong). I can’t find the exact line or year of manufacture. My friend bought this bag in Japan from a vintage thrift store which apparently had authentic vintage items. Its been hard to find online, so it may mean it’s a fake. The leather seems genuine and legit, stitching is nice (albeit there is wear and tear as it’s old). All zippers have traditional YKK as many Coach bags do, there is also a little Coach leather tag which seems legit. There is a label inside which states it was made in the Philippines which is where many Coach bags are made, but I can’t find a style number. There is no creed inside. This was a big red flag for me. I’ve researched this bag and the others (that I’ve seen online) are also missing creeds. I know that some vintage Coach bags don’t have them - so I don’t want to entirely rule it out as a fake. My friend stated it may either be an old outlet bag, limited edition, sample, or vintage (predating the creed). But I’m not sure. Your help is much appreciated! submitted by carebearanon to VintageFashion [link] [comments] |

2024.05.18 01:14 vsingh93 Just saw Coach Outlet get robbed at Potomac Mills
It's so wild. My wife was coming out of the restroom when she noticed the the back door was open, then a group of 4-5 guys walked in and went straight to the store, grabbed a few bags each and ran out. The whole thing happened in less than a minute.
I've seen the videos online of stores getting swiped, but I didn't think I'd see it happening here... And especially a Coach Outlet.
ETA: After talking to my wife it seems more likely that there was a max of 3 people and I had gotten confused between the people looting and the people they were running through.

2024.05.17 21:33 cinmunbun5834 Do not sleep on REISS…
| I needed a white bag for the summer and found this bag for $260, plus 15% off. Leather smells so good and feels like real coach (not outlet coach) quality. I love how the bag is lined with suede. The magnetic flap closure is super easy and secure. And the hardware is a more quiet and neutral gold (I’m not a big hardware person). Overall I think this bag is a super good deal for the price! submitted by cinmunbun5834 to handbags [link] [comments] |
2024.05.17 14:22 HSPersonandcatlover Destructive lying to please made me depressed
Yesterday I came clean again to my partner of 9 years that I lied to him about finishing my bachelordegree. I am in a destructive cycle of lying to please others for years and I must stop this. I need to finish two courses and then it´s over, but I am so burned out emotionally that I am incapable. The lying with a good dose of procrastination (Doing a study of 3 years in 6 yearsand the fact that I am an unemployed 31 year old that is financially depended on others have made me spiral in depression, stress and anxiety. I have no appetite, I run hot all the time, have big arrousel moments that lead to crying, reflux and once hyperventilation. I do have a doctors appointment next week with my general doctor to get help and came clean to my HSP coach that I feel like just doing coaching sessions for hsp isn´t enough. But in the meantime I don´t know what to do to calm myself down. I do yoga and tried meditation, but it takes me so much effort to just do standard things to take care of myself. So yoga is not really an option. Does anyone have tips? Worst case I just needed an outlet, because I feel so alone. Maybe some of you out there deal with rhe same. Only my partner knows how bad I feel and because I hurt him deeply due to my lying I need to give him space to heal so I can´t depend on him.

2024.05.17 03:34 OneDisastrous998 Amtrak vs Trenes Argentions Sleeper Car Service
I just completed my 10 days vacation in Buenos Aires and trust me, the train system down there is pretty interesting. They have 4 long distance routes so I took the one that takes 31 hours and they got sleeper car but only ONE. They have it service daily like Silver Meteor. The train is called Trenes Argentinos Operaciones.
The train runs as one locomotive, 8 coach cars, 1 cafe car, 1 sleeper car and 1 baggage car. No dining car.
The sleeper room has double bunk bed, a small table, sink and a mirror on the wall. It has their own power outlet, a weird design. No shower thought, it has 2 toliets and 2 sinks for them to use next to the restroom end of the sleeper car.
To see a example someone video of that sleeper car:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rx8rxPOY1yc&t=267s The fare was $81,800 ARS (Pesos) so I exchanged to only $86.50USD.
I find this strange because Amtrak wants $800 for sleepers while Trens Argentions only wants $86?
Priceless!
