Hi everyone. I’ve been frantically reading every post I can find about people’s (mostly) positive experiences securing a passport with an urgent appointment. I am flying out in 18 days (6/8) and just realized my passport is expired of course. I had a couple questions I couldn’t exactly find in the subreddit yet.
1) most of the posts have tips for securing urgent appointments by calling, and it seems folks have to call dozens of times before getting a representative, sometimes risking the ability to get one in the city you live in. Has anyone just booked through the online system? I’m finding some appointments there so hoping I can just go that route and avoid the endless calling.
2) although I’m 18 days from travel, with Memorial Day weekend, the soonest I’m eligible to make an appointment is 5/28, only 12 days before traveling. I booked an appointment online in my city (Chicago) by putting a sooner date of travel in the system which allowed me to book one for next Thursday. Since the actual appointment is within 14 days of my travel, do you think they will notice I put in a different travel date then the one I will show on my printed itinerary? Essentially, will I get caught?
Sorry, doing this because I do not have the ability to travel to another city for an urgent appointment due to family obligations. And my family has been planning this trip as our first post-COVID so while I messed up royally, I cannot ruin this trip.

Yes, this is my fault, but I also needed to purchase some basic necessities. I have a nice bed, a nice desk, nice clothes, great shoes, a good set of shirts, a great microphone and camera, a nice desktop, etc.
Basically I own everything I need to be presentable and start an online business.
I did exceptionally well in my 1st year of work - going from a small BDR patch job to a regional BDR for our company's East Coast (I work in a publicly-traded tech company).
I am interested in Higher Ed as a field and have always wanted to build EdTech.
I have skills as a BDR, Inbound Closer, Designer, Marketer, Writer, and know some people in the VC World.
I will be moving to San Francisco in August to be with some friends. This is a non-negotiable.
I'm not sure what I want to do but it's definitely not this corporate job. I'm working 8 hours and I can feel myself wasting so much time and potential.

Living with parents for a month is an option but I don't really want to do that unless I have to. Would rather travel, live in a hostel, and be far away from Bay Area for a month since I have almost no real travel experience.
Can I just send it? Is it safe to take the jump and just say f-it to everyone trying to tell me otherwise?

Just starting riding and picked up a used Ninja 250. There's a couple bits that need attention, such as a broken front indicator after being dropped, and the tail tidy/integrated tail light is rough so it's something I'd rather replace. Clutch lever has a lot of play too.

I’m 21F. I love to crochet, sew, go on walks etc. I could go on and on for hours. I have ADHD so I have various random droves of useless info🤣. I play games on Xbox. Mainly GTA online and Minecraft. I am married so no men please.

Me [26F] and my boyfriend [31M] have been together for 4 years. He has a female friend, let's call her X.
She and I have never met. He and X have been friends since college, so they have been good friends for long than I have been together with my boyfriend. I'm okay with my boyfriend having female friends, and he's okay with me having male friends.
He says that we're the same age and that we're into some of the same things and that we would get along. I have met some of his other friends where we have no similar interests, but we get along just fine, so I'm not concerned about similar interests and whatnot.
The problem I have is that, when I asked my boyfriend to watch a movie with me, he said he would, but wanted to wait until it was out online so we don't have to go to a theatre to watch it. Then, he goes and watches this movie in theatres with X and a few others, but X was the one who initiated it.
My boyfriend likes the outdoors and said he would like to take me out on a long hike with a good view. However, it's been 4 years and we have never been on a long hike or even gone camping like he said he wanted to do with me. I'm not a huge avid hiker, but I like going on hikes. I don't have the stamina for long hikes which would make it a longer trip, but I'm willing to do it still and I have mentioned this to my boyfriend. Then, last summer, he said he was going on a long hike with X.
X is more outdoorsy than I am, so he might have wanted to do this long hike quicker than it would have been with me. Of course I wasn't going to say no to him just hanging out with his friend. However, during that time, my boyfriend works a typical 9-5 job. if you include commute, it would be 8-6. I was in school monday to friday as well, and would work early saturday mornings. We wouldn't really spend time together on the weekdays because it was already evening by the time we met up (we did not live together at the time) and he likes to go to bed early. Our only time to meet up was on Saturday, because we were both available. Sundays are my family days, which he is invited to, but he also sometimes hangs out with his family on Sundays. I didn't like that he decided to use one of our hangout days to go on a hike with X, especially because that was our day to spend together, and he could have gone on another day, like Sunday.
Overall, I just feel like he chooses X over me. He has said that I am a priority and am the most important person, but it doesn't feel that way. His actions don't really match up with his words imo. He said he would do things with me, doesn't, and then does it with X instead. I have always felt like a second priority. Either with work, his friends, or his phone, I feel like I'm a second choice. He can't leave work early to go on a date with me, but tries to leave early for work to hang out with his friends. He's on his phone when we're out together. This is an ongoing struggle we go through, but we have talked about it and it's improving.
I told him that I don't feel comfortable meeting her, I dont want to meet her, I have no intentions of being friends or friendly with her, and that I don't want anything to do with her. This is because every time I hear X's name, I just think about all the times my boyfriend has chosen her over me. I asked why he's so invested in X. He says they've been friends for a long time, that she gives out good vibes, and is a good person. He still wants us to meet and to get along, but I am still not interested.
He says that it's unfair to pinpoint my anger towards her because she didn't do anything wrong. I agree, but that doesn't make me want to meet her or anything. I just don't feel the need to meet her at all. I also told him that I don't want to hear her name or anything around me. However, I don't want him to keep secrets from me...so I'm not sure what to do here.
We're at that stage where we're talking about getting married, and I told him that I didn't want her at our wedding, to which he was very offended. For some context, my boyfriend has a really close male friend, lets call him Y. my boyfriend was not part of the groomsmen or any wedding preparation, only part of the wedding as an attendee. my boyfriend was a bit upset that he wasn't a part of the wedding in a more involved way, and two years later got the courage to ask his best friend why he wasn't part of the groomsmen because they thought they were super close. Y then said that Y's wife did not like my boyfriend and requested that he not be involved. SO, if his close friend was able to do that, I believe it shouldn't be a problem for my boyfriend to not invite someone to our wedding, because why would you want your bride to be upset on her wedding day?
i told him that she is basically putting a wedge between us, and asked if she's that important to him that he's willing to allow this wedge between us. He doesn't think there's a wedge but clearly there is. Me not wanting to do anything with her, him still wanting to be friends and not hiding things from me. I told him that I would prefer if he stopped contacting and stopped being friends with her, but I'm not going to force him on that because he's allowed to have friends. We ended our conversation here, but nothing really resolved from that. I don't believe he's committing infidelity with her, but due to all these other reasons I still don't like her.
I know I am harbouring resentment towards her when she hasn't really done anything...but I can't shake off the feeling of being uncomfortable and feeling off about her.

Hi, I need to ask for a mandatory reconsideration for PIP but citizens advice were useless and there’s no other charities with any appointments in my city.
I need someone to physically sit down with me to write it out, are there paid services for this or any online video call services or similar?
Is doing a good job of the mandatory reconsideration even necessary or does it not make a difference? I’m assuming i’ll have to take it to tribunal anyway. The stress of this is awful and I’ve needed to do it since January😭

As the title states, I’m looking for a long distance or online friend. I’m not currently in the Philippines, though I visit every so often. I studied High School and College in the Philippines so I am somewhat fluent in Filipino. I have work during the day, and I’m 6 hours behind the local time in Manila. One thing that stands out to me is that the advice for getting laid while you are either cohabing and/or are going through a divorce is abstinence. It's good advice, to be sure, but in reality works about as well as teaching only abstinence in school - leaves you without the knowledge you need to succeed!
Basically, the steps below are designed to destroy her map of you. She knows what you do, she knows your routine, and women are pretty good at knowing the importance of suddenly different things. You will have to destroy her ability to know what to expect and normalize unpredictability.

1. Set a pin for your phone!

1A. Start by imagining you have something to hide on your phone. Put it on vibrate, keep it on your person at all times around her, if you set it down, set it down facedown. Don't answer a single text message in front of her, but you can and should use it to check the weather or emails, or surf the web. She probably won't say a single thing, but she is GOING to notice this change and now she's suspicious. Silence her messages - she's used to you responding quickly and she WILL find reasons to contact you just to see if you respond quickly. You will need to slow down communication with her - normalize your replies taking a long time. If she calls don't always pick up. Let it go to VM, or text her that you are busy, or will call back, or whatever. The goal of 1A is to break her expectation of you replying quickly so that it doesn't really stand out when you go on dates later.
1B. Pick a few days each and every week to be out of the house. Don't share what you are doing immediately, make her work for it. She may or may not ask for a while, but she's paying attention. What should you do? Well, I suggest buying some new clothes, try out a few gyms, go for a hike, try out new places to eat by yourself, check out bars and find a few cool ones at different parts of the area you are in, try out a musical instrument lesson, go to car meets, go to biker meets (Harley dealerships have huge bike meets and they cook), play poker, go fishing.... It doesn't matter WHAT you do specifically, just that you ARE actually doing things, and you SHOULD be doing things you would never normally do. Take pictures. You should do this for a minimum of 1 month.
***Why? Well, you don't really know who you are as a single man, and this step is partly to help you figure that out, while shattering her map of 'what you do.' At the same time, you are learning to be less dependent on her for emotional support, simply by slowing down communication with her and creating that distance.

1. This step depends on her, not you. She is going to question you about all these new things and probably outright accuse you of having another girl. Tell her you don't have one (don't get defensive), and if you can show a picture of what you were doing that triggered her accusations, then do it. Tell her you are doing new things because you are a single man again, and you need to discover who you are without her now. Tell her you have no interest in another relationship - that you have decided to work on yourself and focus on being happy. All of those things are true, and you should save the bulk of what you'll say for when she confronts you. The goal here is to get her to accept the IDEA you might actually be working on yourself and shutting her out - she's not going to buy it, but this casts doubt in her mind you found another woman, and that's good enough to continue to step 3.
   
2. CHANGE YOUR PHONES PIN CODE! She probably has it by now. We are about to actually have something to hide.
   
3. Sign up for whatever online dating apps, but you need to turn OFF banner alerts! This should be obvious, but don't bring her back to your house, no matter how sure you are your STBXW isn't going to be home or show up. Condoms... this will get you caught. Either buy and dispose of the whole pack (never bring them home) or find a really good spot to hide them in your car that she'll never find.
   
4. Great, now you found some girl and she's making you happy, right? Getting laid, she probably makes you feel like a Million $s. Good. You'll want to see her constantly because you just realized how terrible you have actually been treated, don't. Your STBXW will say some hurtful and mean things and you'll want to drop that you are and have been banging someone else... don't. If your STBXW feels like she's getting more suspicious end things with 'new girl,' let the situation cool and find a new, new girl... or don't, and continue to work on yourself.
   

Why go through all of this? Because even if you stop at step 3 you've helped yourself! Interestingly, like many can attest to, the moment you find another woman she'll be interested in you again. The mere idea that you could do new things and be happy without her will bring her right back - like the happiness sucking harpie she is.
Lastly, I want to say one more time, that I think NOT sleeping around until after your divorce has been signed by a judge is by far the smarter thing to do. What I am describing here is essentially OPSEC for having an affair, but this level of effort is required because while she may be able to get laid without consequence, the system is not 'for you' and she will make sure you get every inch of the justice d*ck without any lube if she finds out you are plowing the younger, hotter, fun version of her.

Hello there, hopefully somebody here can help me out.
I'm confused on what option to use when trying to update my SIN online after getting my PR.
At one point in the application, they ask you if you've ever had a SIN before, when I answer yes, they ask to select a "type of application to submit" where they give you the following options:

1. Update or correct a SIN record
2. Request the confirmation of an existing SIN
3. Register a legal change of name
4. Change the status on a SIN record
5. Extend the expiry date of a 900-series SIN

So, I'm pretty sure I can discard 2, 3 and 5. But I'm not sure what option to choose from 1 and 4.
For those of you who have already done this online, which option should I choose?
