Haircut

Even if I get a fresh haircut and nice clothes I’ll still be seen as the short guy; in fact if anything I’ll probably be seen as over compensating.
I once heard a quote (can’t remember from here or not) which goes ‘a short man in a suit is like a piece of shit in a box of chocolates’ 💀

I recently made the mistake to get my hair cut short short (low taper fade with messy fringe but the barber cut it too short) and now I'm regretting it a bit lol. I wanna grow it out, however, I feel like with short hair I look like a masc lesbian and with long hair I looktoo feminine and I can also not deal with it well because it's way and has too much volume. Anyone else feel like this? What did y'all do to solve this dilemma?

I'm furious. I went to a hair salon after cutting my hair at home for 4 years. I used to do a carre haircut (like a bob but with no angle at the ends). I loved how it turned out straight, but I'm now trying to wear my hair naturally curly (I have a 2c fine, abundant hair), and this haircut doesn't work so nicely because I don't get any volume at the roots.
So, I decided to go to a "curly specialists salon" in Madrid and it was a tremendous, expensive disaster. i just asked for some layers to get a more rounded, voluminous style and I ended up with an awkward haircut with lots of random short pieces and uneven ends. They cut it dry, but it was so fast, the hairdresser spent less than 10 min cutting it. He combed it before with his hands destroying all the natural curl pattern, and didn't bother to fix the final result. He styled it upsidedown, even though I told him I don't usually like this technique because it tends to give me so many wonky pieces. Hover diffusing with some flipping at the very end allows my curls to form better. He wouldn't listen. I think he was just one of these hairdressers that knows one technique and uses it for everyone no matter what they ask for or what type of hair they have.
I've had many experiences like this before, no matter how many salons I try, so I just want to go back to cut my hair at home. Do you know any good DIY tutorials? I was looking on YouTube but I couldn't find anything close to my curl pattern or the hair length I usually go for. Any other extra tips about how to tame this mess are highly appreciated.

We went to a “kids salon” in La Mesa twice and both times he came out looking like a raggedy Vector from Minions. I booked a different stylist the second time thinking maybe the first one was a fluke pero no! Just as bad! lol

Okay y'all. After YEARS of not getting a haircut, I finally got one. I went to the same place as the last time I got a haircut from, just to try and make it easier for me. However, the whole place got a remodel and the hairdressers were all different, but I had an appointment, but it was more important to keep the appointment to me(since that is someone's livelihood and I don't want to mess up someone's income.) It wasn't so bad, still not completely comfortable with it....but I did it regardless

I’ve been struggling with intensely dry hair for the first time in my life. I was wearing my hair back in a bun every day for work, and between the super fried dry hair and twisting it back every day, half my hair was snapped off. Every time I brushed it I would rip more and more hair out. Eventually, after about 8 months, I gave up and had my hair cut short, about ear level. My hairdresser used olaplex during the haircut and dye, and for a few weeks I could finally run my fingers through my hair. Now, after about a month, it’s going back to the horrible condition it was in.
I use bed head recovery shampoo, olaplex 3 and an argan oil conditioner in the shower, with My Organics Angel Potion (an Italian goji berry belated leave in conditioner) after, and every now and then a Marc Anthony Strictly Curls leave in.
My hair is in awful condition!! I’ve been in bed with covid this week and my hair has literally been standing upright because it dried that way and no matter how much I brushed it down, it would pop right back up for two days. It feels like straw. I’m at my wits end. I don’t know what else I can do.
I am willing to spend money on things if they’re going to work, but this has gone on for so long and I have thrown so much money at hair products without any results, that I don’t think I can afford to keep doing it.
Oh, and to point out how thirsty my hair is, I spent a week in Darwin a month ago. My hair was actually in the best condition it’s been in for years while I was up there! It was full and soft and silky, until the last day or two when it finally started getting a little frizzy.
I know this isn’t normal, but I have no idea what to do with it.

Hi everyone! I am having an ongoing issue with my thinner but dense 2B/2C hair. It feels lifeless, a little mushy, will not create a cast with mousse and gel, and will not hold curls! I’m not sure if it’s over-moisturized or doesn’t have enough protein. I live in an area that has pretty hard water too, which could effect it. On top of all of that, I got a haircut in September 2023 where I cut several inches off. The first wash after the cut was great, my hair was really curly! But every wash after it’s been this weird lifeless mess.
My routine is: - Shampoo with Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Tingle - Condition with Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Tingle - Comb with a wide tooth comb in shower and flip hair upside down to rinse out - Get out of shower, apply Aussie Instant Volume Mousse and Instant Freeze Gel (have used these for years with no issues) - Microplop to get excess product out - Sometimes I plop for 20+ minutes but I haven’t been recently to see if it helps my hair - Diffuse my hair to dry
I also want to state that I am not the most well-off person, so if you have drugstore recommendations that would be appreciated! Thank you all so much!

26M about a month ago I went for a haircut and nearly passed out in the chair (I was hungover). All of a sudden my stomach blew up, my fingers and feet got numb and nearly passed out. Ever since then I never felt the same, I can barely sit straight up to do anything because I start to get the same scary feeling again. I’m not sure I can chalk this up to anxiety because I’ve always been a care free happy go lucky guy.
I eventually went to the ER where they told me to take Pepcid and to buzz off. Here are my symptoms:
Short ness of breath (not all the time)
Low appetite / full feeling
Bloating
A weird pressure on my sternum right below my ribs, even if I’m not bloated it feels like hard
Major lightheadedness where I can barely move and feel I’m going to faint only walking a few steps sometimes.
Sometimes my fingers and feet feel like pins and needles
Visions issues kinda
Constant impending doom anxiety, makes it hard to sit still
Lots of diarrhea
Don’t know what happened but seriously my life has totally flopped since this incident. I barely want to leave the house, don’t ever want to eat and idk kinda ruining my life. Do these symptoms sound familiar to anyone? Like I could be anemic or something????? I’d hate to go back to the ER at all but I want to feel normal again!

So today I went for a haircut at a new salon. Pls read the whole thing before judging me.
Full disclosure : I have had a few bad/creepy incidents with men growing up (getting chased by a man at 16, getting my hips grabbed by a stranger as a child) which make me uncomfortable of touch in general, but more so against the touch of a man. I don't even like other women hugging me.
The barber guy was very polite, courteous etc. but , While cutting the sides of my hair , which barely goes past my jaw, his hand holding the scissor came way below and rested on my chest for a split second( above my boobs , more on the pecs area before the boobs begin, but below my collar bone)
Usually I am extremely aware of people touching me anywhere and immediately flinch away if am uncomfortable, but his hand was gone before I could even move away from it. I was expecting something might happen and I was ready to move away, but idk if I had a freeze response or if his touch was so brief I couldn't move before he did.
The first thought in my head " it's ok it's ok, he didn't exactly rest his hand on your boobs, his hands were closed around the scissor, don't over react", don't cause a scene".
Like at one point he tried to remove a piece of hair from my lips and I stopped her him and did it myself. I also prefer to brush the cut hair away from my neck and chest by myself too, so I had asked for the brush too, which he let me. He was extremely polite and courteous otherwise.
I just keep thinking of how will I ever be able to function as a normal adult in the world if I can't even aget a haircut without getting a small panick attack. I can't even handle the thought of a marrying a man , even though I am attracted to them.
I put on an extremely calm face and didn't react there, till I came home and I cried over this.
I have heard soooo many bad stories of Indian men (and just men) being so creepy , that I feel I have lost all my trust in them, even If my brain says it's irrational. I have developed a sort of paranoia of it.
I keep thing "what if the touch was intentional ? What if he enjoyed it ?" "Am I over reacting like a crazy bi*ch ?'"
How do I go back to normal settings and actually be able to tell a an intentional creepy touch apart from a accidental one ?

I’m a newish tree owner. This summer will be the second for this little guy. It looks like it needs a haircut. What’s the best way to go about pruning this? Any other tree care tips are welcome!

I've always had hair atleast to my shoulders if not longer, and although I absolutely hate the length and how feminine it makes me feel... due to a medical condition that I was born with, I have a very strong connection to my hair. I'm going for my first guy haircut in the next few weeks but im filled with anixety that I will go too short and hate it even more 😐 so I was hoping being able to visually see what it could look like would be more reassuring.
