Mira Magic House
All done with this one. All told, not my favorite to put together. Pros: -Very detailed, both the wood and paper pieces -Lots of "prop" pieces, not everything is paper -Good coloring on the wood
Cons: -All paper is cut individually, not stickers (con for me, some peeps like this) -No glue with kit (nice to have) -Touchpad was TERRIBLE. I though it wasn't working, but it wasn't sensitive enough to get through the wood, even when using a Dremel to cut some away. Ended up turning it upside down and taping to bottom to just get it usable. - Wood is not scored well, I broke several pieces trying to get them out. - Pieces that were meant to lock together didn't fit well, either too tight or too loose. - Instructions are, not great. Pic included for reference, would not recommend for a beginner.
All in all, I'd still give it 3/5. It's super cute together, I especially like the bed on the second floor. But it was by far the most annoying to put together of the 6 I've done.

2024.05.13 22:57 Temporary_Wear5834 Tips for grinding a dog’s nails?

Hello all,
I’m a new bather at this local salon in my area. I’ve only been at the salon for a month and have become good at bathing dogs and cutting nails. However, I still have trouble grinding a dog’s nails with a dremel and need some tips. How should a hold a dog’s paw while dremeling their nails? What should the nails look like after the dremel? Any advice would be appreciated because I want to do the best that I can.

Hi all , i bought a crap second hand bumper , it fits somewhat ok however on sides it doesnt mainly due to indicators not bolting up , i have attached OEM bumper how it should be , so the indicator bolts up to fender and pushes bumper higher .
However bumper i bought seems like first owner had dyi job too and cut everything off, so essentially my bumper looks like this :

How can i add all the material so i could dremel it out to a shape ?
Just to say : Picture is generic from internet with plastic bumper, its actually fiberglass .

2024.05.13 15:35 RobbieRobin89 Dewalt die grinder hose attachment?

Can you use a hose attachment on the dewalt die grinders like most dremel/rotary tools? I haven't bought one yet but can't think why you wouldn't be able to do it. Anyone tried it? I need to cut a welded nut that has really poor access.

Bike Friday rear rack mod
As you can see in the picture, the rear rack has two holes in each of the front stays that attach to the frame. The bolt that is used goes clear through the frame. This makes removal for packing a PITA.
Using a Dremel tool, I cut a notch in the underside of the holes (smoothed with a grinding wheel). This way, all you need to do is loosen that frame bolt to free the two stays. Now, remove the two bolts/spacers at the bottom of the rack, and it's ready to be folded for packing.

2024.05.13 14:01 Taeles Question about Repasting/padding

Question about Repasting/padding
I have a stealth gs65 with 2080 rtx max-q, had it since 2019. For last two years it was in someone elses hands but has returned home and im about to tear it down and do the following:
. Replace the fans (oem equivalent, i have dremel kit to adjust the gpu fan molding)
. Air gun the entire inside of the laptop (battery powered air gun)
. Repaste the cpu/gpu (arctic mx-6)
. Thermal pads throughout. (arctic tp-3)
I came across the following photo in my research and the thermal pads look pretty precise in sizing but I have also seen folks oversize the pads (instead of the three red ones along bottom, one large rectangle for example). Should the thermal pads be precisely cut to the exact surface they are used for or is it ok to extend beyond the points in the following photo?

2024.05.13 09:31 mindyourownbusiness3 Mick Thomson EMTY Blackouts issues

I purchased a set of Mick Thomson 7 string EMTYs because I love how the 6 string versions sound in drop A and B, and that’s the tone I was aiming for on my 7 string.
I had to do a bit of dremelling to get the pickups to fit the cavity, but it wasn’t anything I wasn’t confident with. I got them mounted and soldered together using the provided directions from SD.
Holy mother of bass, Batman! I’m having to completely cut out all of the bass frequencies just to get it to sound remotely clear. I’ve seen African drinking water that was clearer than this. It is the sonic representation of a bowl of marmalade jelly that’s bouncing around. I’ve tried adjusting the heights of the pickups, but that doesn’t do anything to change the tone.
I know that 7 string models of 6 string pickups aren’t going to be exact tonal copies, but is this just how these sound? If not, what else can I do to troubleshoot these? I’m not above cutting my losses and going with another brand, but I’d like to make sure I cover all my bases before I do that.

2024.05.13 03:38 Brilliant-Safe5168 Built & engraved butcher block desk for wife for Mother's Day

She was struggling to have enough room in front of her screen with the giant legs of the Odyssey G9.
This was a fun project, and still cheaper than the crappy particle board desks you can go out and buy at a store. All the stencils I used came from Amazon, and I cut the designs with a Dremel 3000. Just wanted to make her something custom in wife aesthetic. Her previous desk was a glass top/particle board L-shaped disaster from Office Depot that i think we paid over $400 for. The 30" depth on this butcher block desk makes the giant legs of the super ultrawide much more tolerable.
Ebony Butcher Block came from Lowes. ($189)
Legs came from Amazon ($119)
Various stencils from Amazon ~$5 each. I already owned the Dremel. 2 cans of this stuff.

Wanting to add rear pipes similar to this (I believe these are 4"pipes, will probably go w/ 3.5" OD tips though). 2024.05.12 21:55 Zhai Any advice for a prop tinting - Daft Punk helmet visor

Hello WindowTint.
I'm trying to finalize my daft punk helmet and need to tint the visor. Please see attached photos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/vmidgRdvrvSkxzcB9
It's a piece of plastic sheet that I curved using vacuum forming (heat up in the oven to 180+ degC and then put it on the form standing on a box connected to a vacuum cleaner to suck it to shape). Inside has some irregularities, but outside is pretty smooth. How would you advise to approach tinting it?
I know edges look like shit - I still need to cut it to size, but it's weekend and didn't want to disturb my neighbors with the sound of dremel grinding on plastic.
https://imgur.com/a/jDi6ME9
This is my goal.

2024.05.12 09:35 EouMD Cutting discs for LXT Die Grinder?

Hi All,
I'm a plumber kitted out with Makita and looking for a Dremel tool for detail work, mainly for detail work when cutting tiles (so will need small tile cutting discs) and cutting plastic pipe.
To stay with Makita ive been offered the Cordless Die Grinder, but from reading the specs of it, I can see loads of "grinding" and "sanding" accessories, but not so much "cutting"
Am I trying to make this tool something it isn't, and should I just get an actual Dremel??
Any experience with this and advice would be great before I splash out on a tool!

2024.05.11 19:10 margreeeeen dremel to face plate quest 3?

hey there so basically i was like damn the quest 3 overheats a lot i wonder if theres custom face plates on thingiverse to give better cooling potential, there sadly is not. then i had another idea, if i get a dremel or some sort of tool to cut the plastic i could cut the area of the face plate right in front of the heatsink since its very conveniently aimed at a spot that has no electronics.
is there any possible downside of this? i plan to install a dust vent to it to keep it clean still but im unsure if this could possibly lead to any problems has anyone tried anything similar?

2024.05.10 15:00 UncleGurm Not another seat thread!

The title is a lie - this is absolutely a seat thread.
I'm unreasonably excited for my new GT (upgrading the old GT), my wife laughs at me because it's almost the same car and nobody casual will be able to tell the difference.
The thing I'm LEAST excited about is the seats. At 2 years in (and a lot of miles), the current Recaros bruise my outer thighs on anything but the shortest drives. The passenger seat is much comfier than the driver, probably due to less wear. For the first year and a half the seats were fine, so I suspect that I just hadn't worn in the bolsters enough to feel the metal rods. Also I've been losing weight, when I got the car I was probably a few pounds lighter than I am now, but I got much heavier and didn't have a problem. I've been exercising a lot more lately, too.
So I'm pre-emptively floating ideas to fix the seat situation before the new ones wear in.
Option 1: Swap with a limited owner (or get a limited driver's seat from a wreck or off of eBay). This is a decent option, assuming I like the limited seats. I have an appointment to go drive one (literally to assess the seats), so we'll see. If the problem truly is just seating position/lumbaetc., having the 10-way adjustable seat might go a long way. Downside: might have the same problem - they also have uncomfortable metal bars!
Option 2: Just bend, cut out, or carefully remove the bars. I'm assuming that the Recaros aren't magic, and that they disassemble just like the limited seats. I can either do a total tear-down and unbolt the bars, or just cut them with a dremel, but either way an hour's labor ought to get them gone. Downside: might need to figure out something to stuff the gaps in the bolsters with, some people report that after removing the bars there's something else hard underneath.
Option 3: Get professional help. This one came to me from a friendly subreddit member in a DM, but basically I could go to a local automotive upholstery shop and explain the problem... and let them fix it. They'd be on the hook to make it look perfect, and could probably do what I'd do in Option 2 with more skill. Maybe even widen the bolster a little in the process to accommodate fat American asses. Downside: they may go "nah, can't help you".
Option 4: Get aftermarket seats. A mount plate and 4 bolts pretty much lets us put any universal seat in. Genuine Recaros, while pricey, will harness right up (although they'd need a resistor to block out the SRS light). Or just skip the power options and get literally any brand. Downside: no heat. Power is a question mark. No SRS sensors.
Option 5: Try to make the seats from a VA STI (which are insanely comfortable) fit. I don't know if anyone has done this yet, but I bet the same mount plate would do the trick, and the wiring ought to be significantly easier (might have to splice, but all the same plugs should be there). These seats are pretty plentiful on the secondhand market. Downside: sweat equity, unknown hardware requirements.
Edit: Option 6… cancel my order and get a Limited. I’m sure the sales manager will be cranky with me, but it’s an option on the table. Sure I lose all the drive modes and stuff, but I can customize a limited just fine. And it comes with better seats. I do need to go drive one first, though. I’m still struggling to resist the urge to buy a 6mt. My knee and hip are not great on the left side, which (along with my wife having bad knees) is why I got the GT in the first place. But… it’s a thought.
Edit: Option 7… sit on a purple seat cushion. Lol.
I welcome any an all input, with the exception of GT hate. Haters who say "why are you getting a GT" or "why are you getting another GT" or any permutation of the above will be ignored.

Three stripped bolts and not sure what to do.
I'm pretty sure the apollo tools destroyed my scooter. Three of the 5 bolts are completely stripped.
I tried cutting a slot into one with a dremel, and heating it up. But I just can't get these three out. A shop 20 minutes away wants to charge $170, and i just can't afford that right now.
Any help would be appreciated.
