God-king Meruem's Hatsu

2024.05.14 10:49 Researcher_Fearless God-king Meruem's Hatsu

I got to thinking about the powers of a Meruem who survived the Rose poison and went on to rule the world. This also assumes he is aware of the Dark Continent and that there are creatures there who could pose a threat to him. These Hatsu will be seperated into categories, since there's a lot of them.
Mostly, this was a chance to go absolutely wild with the pinnacle of Nen. I hope you enjoy reading busted abilities.
Foundational:
Aura Synthesis (Emission): By consuming the aura of another individual, Meruem permanently adds their aura to his reserves. This also allows him to reverse engineer any Hatsu they possessed perfectly, and improve them using his own Nen skill.
En Photons (Emission): By emitting individual particles of Nen, Meruem can gain the effects of En with effectively zero effort or aura investiture. More importantly, En Photons in contact with an individual with aura can become laden in the targets aura, returning to Meruem and activating Aura Synthesis. This means that, just by being in the same area as someone, Meruem can copy their Hatsu, and take as much of their aura reserves for himself as he pleases, though this is obviously massively faster the closer Meruem is to the target.
Specialization Access: By absorbing Aura from many specialists, Meruem gained the ability to use Specialization as if it were a normal Nen type, with 60% efficiency.
Combat:
Unshackle (Specialization): Meruem can only use this ability in a situation where he feels harm could come upon him from a source other than himself. To activate it, he must cut himself, and he cannot use Nen (including Enhancement healing) to heal it, or allow another to heal it for him. Once activated, Meruem gains 100% efficiency in all Nen categories while Unshackled. When Meruem ends this ability, 99% of his Aura pool is sealed away from him for ten times as long as he maintained Unshackle.
Transformation (Transmutation): A mix of Youpi's shapeshifting and Beelzebub, this ability allows Meruem to freely alter his form for mobility, combat, healing, and more. This is so potent that, as long as Meruem can maintain a a core the size of an ant, he can reform from nearly anything that doesn't destroy him on a cellular level. Unshackled, this ability allows Meruem to manipulate his body at the molecular level, though reconstituting large numbers of destroyed cells requires immense focus.
Spiritual Message (Emission, Manipulation): Meruem can read the mental, emotional, and aura makeup of anyone in contact with his En photons. This is so detailed that he can read minds and determine the Hatsu of targets instantly. This works on Dark Continent entities, though their complexity and uniqueness means that Meruem needs a few moments to derive useful conclusions, which is greatly reduced when Unshackled.
Mirror Clone (Emission, Manipulation): An emitted copy of himself, mirror clones do not have real substance and can be destroyed if their physical form is disrupted. They can use most of his Hatsu, and any aura granted to them is returned to Meruem if they are destroyed or are dismissed, as well as memories of everything they experienced. Although Mirror clones can move independently, they lack their own consciousness, and generally act on the last order given to them by Meruem.
Perfect Clone (Conjuration, Manipulation): Can only be activated when Unshackled. A true flesh and blood copy of Meruem. Instead of being granted a sum of Aura on creation, a Perfect Clone is instead granted a percentage of Meruem's pool, which it can recover on its own if expended, potentially even growing with Aura Synthesis. Perfect Clone is fully independent, and acts as an exact copy of Meruem's consciousness, meaning that personality drift is a real danger. Meruem considers this ability undignified, but holds it in reserve for creatures like Ai that can instantly kill anything at any range. If either the copy or original dies, the remainder receives the full Aura pool.
False Form (Conjuration): By using replacement-type conjuration to create a copy of his own body, Meruem can sustain bodily harm without it affecting his actual body. This ability normally has a latency of half a second to re-create a destroyed body part, but this is removed when Unshackled.
Executioner's Sword (Conjuration): Only usable Unshackled. Anything living pierced by this blade dies. Only one can be conjured at a time, even between clones.
Domain:
Heart of the Emperor (Conjuration): Meruem conjures an onyx shard. Any creature with this shard embedded in their heart is protected against the majority of the negative effects of Meruem's domains. Anyone else with a shard is treated as Meruem for the purpose of the domains effects.
Domain Activation (Emission): Can only be used Unshackled. Meruem emits a Nen space and teleports himself and any number of other targets into it. Each domain can only be activated if all previous domains were unsucessful in defeating one or more targets inside, and were active for at least 30 seconds on that target. Although each domain has a unique ability, all of them teleport En Photons directly between Meruem and the target, causing Aura drain to happen at a ludicrous rate.
Dimensional Anchor (Emission): Anything struck by the ray fired by this ability finds themselves unable to teleport by any means. This also foils any attempts to escape emitted spaces.
Domain I - Fields of Mourning (Manipulation): A seemingly infinite, listless field, this domain exploits the emotional vulnerabilities of the target, forcing victims to relive trauma, become overwhelmed with regret, or simply have all motivation drained away from them. Meruem can skip this domain against opponents that do not have emotions.
Domain 2 - Chains of Tartarus (Manipulation, Conjuration, Specialization): Worked stone and metal chains fill this domain. Targets inside of this domain have their body, mind, and aura seperated, unable to interact with each other. The body is paralyzed, the mind filled with pain and chaotic thoughts, and the aura rendered inert. Chans and manacles are conjured onto the target that interfere their ability to act in any way.
Domain 3 - Pits of Asphodel (Emission, Transmutation, Manipulation, Conjuration, Enhancement, Specialization): Pools of magma and gouts of flames fill this domain. This domain attempts to physically destroy the target by as many means as possible simultaneously. Heat, cold, vibration, ionization, entropy, and many more methods are used to destroy the target at an atomic, or sometimes subatomic level.
Domain 4 - Weight of Chronos (Specialization): A massive clock as the floor, with an endless abyss in every direction. This domain stops time, freezes space, and calcifies reality. Even Meruem is able to only observe and think, though he has near omniescense in this state within the domain. The purpose of this domain is to give Meruem the chance to observe, calculate, and formulate against a target that was able to resist the first three domains.
Domain 5 - Personalized Tapestry of Fate (Specialization + More?); The exact parameters of this domain are created while Weight of Chronos is active. Its purpose is to exploit weaknesses of the target in a way that allows them to be destroyed in ways that were not possible with the previous domains. If this is not possible with something standard, this serves simply to delay the target until the sixth domain unlocks.
Domain 6 - Unraveling (Specialization, Manipulation): Reality itself begins to unravel as this domain activates. This domain does not attack the target's body, mind, or aura. Instead, it attacks them as a concept, unraveling their very being at such a foundational level that there is little opportunity to resist.
Domain 7 - Colosseum (Enhancement): A large, roman colosseum. If all else fails, wearing the target down may be the only choice. When this domain activates, Meruem may take the opportunity to create a Perfect Clone outside the domain. While the domain is active, Meruem becomes five times more potent in every regard, and targets become five times weaker. Meruem also has his Aura efficiency massively increased, with expended aura mostly trickling back into his Aura pool, making him limitlessly enduring, while targets become massively inefficient, expending many times what they would even in a non weakened state. Note that this applies to unusual abilities like Ai's wishes as well.
Utility:
Teleportation (Emission): Meruem or something he targets teleports. This is instantaneous up to 100 meters (1 kilometer Unshackled), but requires concentration proportional to distance for longer teleports. In his Emitted spaces, Meruem can freely teleport anywhere within or between them. Can be used to escape Conjured or Emitted spaces.
Reactive Instincts (Manipulation, Specialization): Meruem is constantly self-manipulated with this ability, which reacts to danger or unusual situations. It can intuit danger that Meruem would have no way of percieving, and can activate any of his Hatsu autonomously. If someone wished for Alluka to kill Meruem, Reactive Instincts would Unshackle and create a Perfect Clone immediately before he died, allowing him to escape unscathed.
Hideaway (Emission, Conjuration): Meruem creates a new space, 'layered' slightly off from regular reality, and tucks himself or something else there. Although he can still percieve his surroundings with En Photons, very few methods can locate or target something that doesn't exist within regular spacetime.
Sacrificial Exorcism (Emission, Specialization): If Meruem is affected with a Nen curse or similar affliction, he may transfer it to a willing target in the form of a disease. Although powerful curses may result in afflictions on the same level as what Gon suffered, they will never be fatal (though survival may become nearly impossible with something on that level). If the target retains the curse for at leas ten years, and is still loyal to Meruem, their death causes the curse to die with them.
Exotic Matter Manipulation (Transmutation, Manipulation): Although technically many hatsu, I decided to group these together. Using his knowledge of physics, Meruem can create unusual states of matter to perform incredible feats, like creating black holes to form stable wormholes, to using transmuted antimatter to convert matter into energy. Physicists could probably suggest more weird stuff. Many of these must be Unshackled to come into effect properly.
Identity Safeguard (Specialization, Emission): Tucked away in an emitted space is a copy of the concept that makes Meruem what he is. If this is damaged somehow, he can use his backup.
Matter Reconstruction (Manipulation, Transmutation, Emission): Meruem can manipulate matter he infuses his aura into, reconfiguring it into any form he desires. Unshackled, this can manipulate atoms, changing the elements of the matter he is working with.
Timestream Shift (Specialization): If multiple streams of time are occurring simultaneously, he can enter whichever he pleases. Against Netero, he could use this ability to match Netero's time compression.

2024.05.13 02:25 YellowLantern15419 Batgirl Specific Villians.

The lore in Batman Mythos is famous for having one of the most expansive and memorable list of supervillains the Caped Crusader and his allies face off against. We all know about the likes of the Joker, Penguin, Poison Ivy, Man-Bat, Two-Face, Mr. Freeze, etc and how often they can become adversaries to Batman’s allies as well. But writers will also sometimes create their own villains for him and his allies for them to fight as a way to avoid stories from becoming stale. Some of them are memorable enough to be considered archenemies of the heroes.
Batgirl has definitely gathered her own share of villains as well that are separate from the main reoccurring foes that Batman fights. Whether it’s Barbara, Cassandra or Stephanie under the mantle, they have consistent run ins with some villains in their series that some are a kind of rouge’s gallery. If I had to list them out it would look like this:
Barbara Gordon (Batgirl/Oracle):
Cassandra Cain (Batgirl/Blackbat/Orphan):
Stephanie Brown (SpoileRobin IV/Batgirl):
If there was one consistent element that the villains of the Batgirls had in common, it would be that it is usually a family member who spells trouble the most for the heroine.
Barbara has a serial killer for a brother, Cassandra often faces off against her mother and/or father depending on the story, Stephanie originally created the “Spoiler” persona to foil her father’s supervillain escapades as a knock off Riddler. Family matters for the Batgirls is quite the story driving plots for them which tends to make them the most memorable non-major Batman villains encountered by them.
Were there any other villains I missed? I always enjoy recalling stories in the law behind a character that definitely needs more fan appreciation and better chances in order to get a proper movie or successful series.

2024.05.10 04:53 edgiscript [FFFFFF4M] Coma [Yandere Victim's Dream] [Adventure] [Fantasy] [Sci-Fi] [Deciding To Accept Or Reject Yandere's Love] [Sword Play]

TITLE: COMA
Characters
Knight: Formal. Caring, like a bodyguard. Never speaks in contractions.
Bunny: Timid, cute, dependent.
Cheerleader: Full of happiness and glee.
Scientist: Logical. Matter-of-fact.
Fear Initially a grotesque hybrid of fear, anger, and depression. Her voice will sound more warped at first when she's in that amalgam state. When she becomes just plain old Fear, the voice changes to a less grotesque version.
Lilly: Person in love with the listener
Note: I'll be honest, I never expected and still don't expect this one to ever be performed. (If it ever does get performed, I'll erase this line and add "I knew it would be" later.) It has 6 distinct voices, is the longest single ASMR script I've written, is sfx heavy, and gets a little rowdy for ASMR. But I wrote it for me. It's a companion piece to Lilly's Saga. After I was finished writing that series, I was wondering what a yandere victim's dreams would be like. That spawned this. Hope you enjoy reading it, because you'll probably never enjoy hearing it.
And, of course the typical, check this out: An Introduction To The Book That Is Me :
And this: Masterlist for edgiscript :
Although this isn't directly a chapter of Lilly's Saga, here's Part 4 that shows the listener being knocked out which leads to this dream. [F4M] Lilly's Saga - Part 4 of 7 [Concerned Speaker] [Suicidal Listener] [Not Eating] [Kidnap With Intent To Rescue] :
(Soft whooshing of wind as a light breeze floats by seeming to indicate a mysterious transition of some kind. Sound of a horse approaching speedily, then stopping quickly.)
Knight: Whoa, whoa, girl. Whoa.
(Quickly climbing off horse and kneeling beside listener.) There you are, my love. I was informed you had entered this land unprepared for the dangers ahead. I see now that my informants were correct. It has been a while since you’ve visited these lands. What has happened to you? You seem very shaken. Are you injured?
(Pause.)
No? Good. Very good. Then you should be able to assist me on my quest. Come, we must ride quickly if we are to…
(A sudden gust of wind. Horse whinnies as if frightened and speeds off.)
Wait! No, don’t.... Ohhhh, damn! Something has spooked her. There will be no way for me to get her back now myself, and you do not seem to be capable at the moment.
Well, there is nothing else for it. It appears that we are walking. Are you up to it, my love? Fortunately, where I need to be is not too far. I would like to offer you a chance to rest and get your bearings, but I am afraid that time is of the essence.
(Pause.)
You can walk. Good. Good. Then let us hurry.
(Sound of feet moving quickly and a sword being unsheathed.)
We must move quickly. I am afraid that the danger is already upon you. We must move quickly if we are to stand a chance to rescue you.
(Pause speaking but running doesn’t stop.)
That is correct. I believe that you are being attacked as we speak just over that hill. Do you have your sword with you?
(Pause.)
You do. Then draw it. I can see now that you are being taken. We must defend you.
(Knight rushes forward. There is the brief sound of sword-on-sword combat.)
Remove your hands from the prisoners, foul creature. You have no place here.
(A few more quick sounds of combat. Knight sheathes her sword.)
Good riddance, filth.
(To the listener.) Those trolls disgust me every time they decide to show their horrid faces.
You fought well, my love. I was concerned that in your current state you would not possess your typical adroitness in combat, but you leapt forward and removed the heads of four of those fiends before I could dispatch even one. Your skill with a blade has never ceased to amaze me. Now, let us see to the prisoners. Lilly, are you harmed?
Cheerleader: (Laughs.) Not at all, Lilly. That was exciting. Can we do it again?
Knight: (Smirks.) Heh, not now, Lilly. Maybe some other time. Lilly, how about you?
Bunny: No, Lilly, I don’t think so.
(To the listener.) Oh, my love, thank you for saving me.
Cheerleader: And me too. You were so dashing and brave, my love. And your sword was just, swoosh, swoosh, swoosh. You were so freaking cool. I haven’t been part of an adventure like that in a while.
Bunny: I was so scared without you here. Please, hold me.
(Pause.)
Thank you, my love. How I always long for your embrace. I only feel safe when you’re with me. I’d wrap my arms around you and hold you too if it weren’t for these ropes tying my arms down.
(Pause.)
Undo the ropes? Of course not, silly. I’m always tied up like this. You know that. Why would I not be tied up?
My love, are you all right? You don’t look like you usually do.
Cheerleader: Yeah, my love, that was so much fun. Why aren’t you smiling like you usually are after one of your glorious victories?
Knight: My love, Lilly is right. You appear confused and shaken similar to when I first found you in the nearby enchanted woods. Are you certain there is no injury that I may assist with?
(Pause.)
You are confused? About what? If you have questions, please ask them.
(Pause.)
Whoa, whoa, slow down, my love. You are incoherent when you speak that quickly. Please, calm down.
Bunny: Lilly, what’s going on? Why is he like this? I’m scared.
Knight: Calm down, Lilly. You’re always scared.
Cheerleader: That’s true, Lilly, but I’m a little scared too. Something is off here. The confusion of a mystery is fun. An adventure awaits. But the confusion that we appear to be having now is different somehow. It’s not fun, it’s disturbing. Do you understand?
Knight: Yes, I do understand, Lilly. Now, my love, please repeat your questions slowly and I will do my best to answer them.
(Pause.)
Where are we? I… I do not understand the question. We are… here, where we always are, with you.
Cheerleader: Why are we sometimes referring to ourselves as if we are you? Because we are you, you nut. We always have been.
Knight: I am concerned. This has never been a source of confusion before. Something does indeed give the impression of being seriously wrong.
(Pause.)
Yes, my love. We act like you have been here before because you have. We have fought many heroic battles together. Do you not recall?
Bunny: (Frightened.) Lilly, I’m scaring me.
Knight: Not now, Lilly.
(Pause.)
Yes, my love, go on. That right there, you say. We each call each other Lilly. Yes, that is our name, at least for the time being.
(Pause.) But how could it be our name when we claim to be you because that is not your name?
And you are obviously a man. If we are you as we say, then how could we all look like the same beautiful woman?
And why do we keep referring to you as “my love?” Well… to be certain, my love, we were hoping that you could explain that to us.
Bunny: How we appear to you is… well, it’s up to you.
Cheerleader: (Joyfully.) I’ve usually looked like one of your friends: Billy, Janey, even your cousin Mikey for a time. Everybody that I look like is soooooooo much fun. I have to say, I like this cheerleader outfit. It’s also fun. But I can’t tell you why I look like this particular girl. Is she a friend of yours? Friends are so much fun.
Knight: (Gallantly.) I have looked like many people before, but I always come to you as a knight in shining armor. I have appeared as your father and your mother. For a while I looked like Captain Nautilus from that book series you loved as a child. Every visage of mine has been one of nobility, courage, and honor in your eyes.
Bunny: (Sweetly.) And I’ve been a few things too, but I’ve usually been a cute little bunny, not the even cuter little bunny-girl that I am now. (Giggles.) When I was a bunny, I had a collar on. I wasn’t tied like I am now. But whatever I am, I’m always soft and adorable and something that makes you want to just pick me up and take care of me. And hold me. (Sighs.) I love being held.
Knight: The reason why we are all the same image of a beautiful lady of whom we have no memory eludes us. There… is a recent… I guess emptiness would be the best word for it, for I know of no other way to explain it. We have always known who we represent, but this appearance is new to us. We have no frame of reference.
Bunny: Lilly, what about Lilly.
Cheerleader: YES! Yes, yes, yes. LILLY!!! YAY! Let’s go see Lilly. She’ll know what’s happening.
Knight: I concur. Lilly should be a great help. Let us all be off at once.
Bunny: Uh, Lilly.
Knight: Oh, right. You remain tied. My love, could you do us a favor and call my steed back to us? Our journey would be much simpler if my horse could carry Lilly instead of one of us.
(Pause._
Cheerleader: Why, yes, you can bring Lilly’s horse back. You can bring whatever you want. If you imagine it, it will be here.
That is such a fun ability to have. Remember that time you and I fought alien invaders in spaceships? You gave us each the coolest starfighters to…
Knight: Lilly. I am sorry to interrupt, but please save that story for our trip. Right now, my love needs to concentrate on bringing back my steed. Please, my love, can you bring my horse back to where we are now?
(Pause.)
Yes, Lilly was correct. Whatever you imagine, we can use. So it should be no trouble for you to just call my horse back to my side.
(Pause.)
What do you mean? What were you thinking we should do instead?
Cheerleader: (Squeals in glee.) Look, look, look. My love has brought us a hovercar. I call shotgun!
Knight: I had better drive. I know the way.
Bunny: That means I get to cuddle in the back with my love. (Sighs longingly.) You wouldn’t mind holding me close in the back seat while we drive, would you?
(Brief pause.)
Wonderful. I’ll just rest my head on your chest while you hold me.
Cheerleader: Great! This will give me time to tell you all about the time we saved the Pachoran race from the evil invading Gloxnil horde.
Knight: Lilly, there is no need. We were all there.
Cheerleader: Oh, let me tell my story. It’ll be fun. There we were, a handful of defenders against a thousand. No, ten thousand. No, a hundred thousand.
Knight: (Annoyed.) Lilly.
Cheerleader: (Sound of a hovercraft ship racing off. Cheerleader voice begins to fade as she gets farther and farther away.) Their armies cloaked in shadowy evil. Our armor glistening in the sun. The anticipation of a mighty battle hung heavy overhead, but we were ready for whatever may come….
(Sound of a hovercar getting closer. Once here, it shuts down.)
Cheerleader: (Voice is faint at first, but gets louder as she gets closer.) And then you kicked in the door to the cell, rescued the princess, and carried her off to your castle where you lived happily ever after. The end.
Knight: I fail to remember the existence of catapults when we attempted to cross the moat.
Cheerleader: I know, but the catapults made the story more fun, so I added them.
Knight: Well, regardless, we have arrived. Lilly has a laboratory just inside those doors. My love, would you kindly carry Lilly there inside.
Bunny: Oh, yes. Please. That way I can continue to snuggle my head into your shoulder as you hold me with your big, strong arms.
Cheerleader: Oh, this is so exciting. Lilly always has another fun adventure for us to go on. (Squeals gleefully.)
(Crisp whooshing sound of a sliding door opening. Various sci-fi sound effects can be heard as ambiance.)
Knight: Lilly.
Scientist: Good, you’ve all arrived. I assumed that you’d be along shortly. Ah, you’ve brought my love. I wasn’t sure we’d be here in this way.
Knight: Yes, it has been a while since we have been here and ready for battle. I discovered my love in the enchanted woods.
Scientist: The enchanted woods? Interesting. But first, I’ve been getting some very odd readings as of late that have me extremely concerned and I need to know what you’ve all been experiencing. My love, what’s been happening out there?
Knight: Uh, Lilly, perhaps I should be the one to explain. You see, my love has not been himself lately. Something appears to be wrong with us.
Cheerleader: She’s right, Lil. It’s like we don’t understand what’s going on.
Bunny: Or who we even are. It’s scaring me.
Scientist: I see. Please elaborate to the extent that you’re able.
Knight: As I informed you, I discovered my love lying in the enchanted woods instead of our castle where he usually appears. He seemed dazed and bewildered at first. We then rescued Lilly and Lilly from some doubt ogres and loathing trolls. My love was as brave and as skilled as he has always been in battle, but as soon as the threat was over, he expressed… uncertainty.
Scientist: Uncertainty? About what?
Bunny: About everything. My poor baby.
Cheerleader: Lilly’s right, Lil. We’re lost right now. There’s something missing in our mind that we can’t quite explain. My love has questions that we can’t answer, as do we.
Knight: Lilly speaks truth. He did not know where he was or who we were, which we did our best to convey. However, he also had questions about things for which none of us could answer, such as why all of us look like variations on the same woman. You, in fact, also now appear this way as opposed to your previous form of an elderly, bearded gentleman.
Cheerleader: It hasn’t been very fun. Do you have any answers for us, Lil?
Scientist: I see. Well, I may be able to shed some light on our situation and get us headed in the right direction.
Cheerleader: Oh, good. A direction and hopefully a goal. That sounds more fun.
Scientist: A short while ago, several of my screens went blank and I lost several gigabytes worth of memory which I’m attempting to recover now. I’m concerned that a traumatic experience may have occurred in the real world which may be affecting our memory to a point.
(Pause.)
Yes, my love, the real world. Have you not been able to put it together from what Lilly, Lilly, and Lilly have shared with you? This is your mind. Lilly, the knight, is your bravery, courage, and honor. She is your sense of nobility and justice. The bunny-girl you’re carrying…
Bunny: And doing so wonderfully, I might add.
Scientist: She is your timidity, your introverted nature, your shyness. She is the desire within you for others to reach out and care for you. Meanwhile, the Lilly that you see in the cheerleader outfit over here…
Cheerleader: That would be me. Yay!
Scientist: …she is the part of you that seeks adventure, that thrills at excitement, and that craves a mystery. In short, she is the part of you that wants to have fun.
While I, in my lab-coat and glasses surrounded by futuristic equipment and paraphernalia of all types, am your logic, your reason, and your ability to correctly process information from all other aspects of your temperament as well as your ability to intelligently interact with the world around you.
(Pause.)
Yes, you’re right. We all take the form of what you most closely associate with that aspect of your personality. Right now we’re all the same person, and you’re wondering how that could be. When I informed me earlier that…
(Pause.)
What’s that, my love? Ah, yes. Of course. I can see how the fact that we are all referring to you in the first person as well as the third is confusing to you in your present circumstances. Please understand that, as we are all constructs in your own mind and therefore a part of you, referring to you as “I” or “we” at times just makes sense to us. And, in the past, you’ve always understood. But now, with the memory problems that we are all facing, that can make this more difficult for you.
Lilly, Lilly, Lilly, I suggest, for the time being, that we all refer to our primary individual as a separate entity for the sake of clarity. Do you concur?
Knight: Of course, my love. I understand how that would help me… I mean, how it would help you in this situation.
Cheerleader: Fine by me. It’s more fun to think of myself as somebody else anyway. I’m really good at that.
Bunny: And I’ll just keep calling you “my love.”
Scientist: Ah, yes, that. “My love.” Why do we keep calling you that? I may have at least a partial answer to that. Please allow me to continue my previous attempt at an explanation.
Our forms are created by someone or something of great importance to you. At present, we are asleep, or unconscious. I can’t be certain.
(Pause.)
This may be a dream, yes, but it’s also possible that we… apologies, that you are in a coma. As I said, several memories suddenly disappeared so I lack what I fear is vital information to answering that question.
However, I have two pieces of good news. One is that you still receive information while asleep, or at least while you’re not conscious. I have been monitoring your environment for several hours since whatever trauma wiped out my… I mean your, God, that’s a difficult habit to break, memories. Here, let me pull it up on the screen and show you what I mean.
(Other Lillies gasp.)
Cheerleader: It’s me.
Bunny: It’s all of us.
Knight: Lilly, who are we seeing?
Scientist: I’m not certain. I have only been able to surmise that she is someone of high importance to us, and that her name most certainly is Lilly.
Knight: Do we have sound? She seems to be speaking.
Scientist: Yes, of course. Let me get that.
Lilly: (Crying softly.) Please, my love, please wake up. I can’t do this without you. Please, please come back to me. I love you. I love you so much. Don’t leave me, my love.
Scientist: As you heard, she is expressing a deep love for you and refers to you as “my love.” She is clearly the source of our appearances and the reason why we refer to you as “my love” constantly.
Cheerleader: That poor girl.
Bunny: I’m frightened for her. I want to hold her.
Knight: Lil, is there any other information we have on her?
Scientist: Only one memory. That’s the second piece of good news. Initially, it vanished like the others but then reappeared shortly afterwards. I believe its reappearance may have something to do with your successful skirmish with the ogres. Here, take a look.
Lilly: No. Stop. Please.
Bunny: Oh, no. She’s being attacked by other kids. Those big meanies. What are they doing?
Knight: (Unsheathes her sword.) I have to help.
Scientist: Put your sword away, Lilly. This is a memory. We can’t do anything. But keep watching.
(Sound of Knight putting her sword away.)
Cheerleader: Hey, you saved her. You fought those bullies off… and now you’re threatening them if they come near her again. Wow, why didn’t you remember that? That was so much fun. A real life adventure.
Lilly: You, you saved me. Thank you. I didn’t think anybody cared.
Scientist: Watch what happens next.
Knight: Oh my.
Bunny: She, she kissed me. I mean you. She kissed you, my love.
Cheerleader: How did you forget this? This has got to be the greatest thing that’s ever happened to you. WOW!!! What a cutie. I’ll bet you blushed sooooooo badly.
Knight: And you say this memory just reappeared.
Scientist: Yes, as I said before, shortly after your skirmish.
Knight: So he may need to re-experience some things in order to regain these memories and find out who this Lilly is?
Scientist: A sound hypothesis but I’m not certain that the experience itself was what caused the memory to resurface. It’s possible that the ogres and trolls may have had something to do with it and therefore destroying them freed the memory.
In addition, other stimulus may be effective as well. My love, would you mind setting Lilly… um, I mean, bunny-girl down for a moment. There’s something I want you to see.
Bunny: Well, I’d rather he didn’t, but go ahead, my love. Only because this might help you.
Scientist: Thank you. Now, please take a look at these.
Cheerleader: This picture that you’re showing him. It’s his parents. They’re smiling. They loved him so much.
Knight: Lil, this memory, this was right before…
Scientist: Yes, right before they died in that car accident.
Bunny: Oh, put it away. I don’t want to see this.
Scientist: Now, my love, please look at this image.
Knight: I remember this building. This is the orphanage where he stayed for a short time afterwards.
Scientist: That is correct. My love, you were brought here while the authorities tried to locate any family or friends that might be willing to take you in.
You were sixteen, almost seventeen. The authorities couldn’t find anybody else that wanted you, and so this became your home for a little over a year.
Bunny: (Sad.) You were sad. You missed your parents so much, and nobody else would help. Nobody else wanted you. Nobody else would comfort you or hold you.
Cheerleader: (Melancholy.) I’m afraid I wasn’t much help at that time. Losing your parents,… well, that just sucks the fun out of anything. And, and you missed mom and dad so much.
Knight: (Sorrowfully.) And I am afraid that I failed you as well. I am truly sorry. I just wanted to hide for a while. I lacked the strength for bravery. I lacked the will to defend you as I should have.
Scientist: I, however, was very active. While most of you shut down for a time, I was constantly recording and analyzing the situation seeking possibilities and a way out. Here are some images I’ve saved. Take a look.
Knight: Yes. I remember that lamp. Those curtains. The bookcase. The way the wood floors creaked when you would walk.
Cheerleader: That picture over there. The dinner table. I remember that. It was your only source of joy for a while. The meals reminded you… of mom.
Bunny: The last picture, the bed, it was your hiding place. You spent a lot of time snuggled into those blankets. So many tears.
Scientist: But have you noticed something strange about each image?
Knight: Yeah, you are right. There is something blurred out of each one.
Bunny: Something you can’t quite remember?
Scientist: Now, let me go back to the end of the first memory.
Cheerleader: You picked Lilly up after the attack and you carried her home.
Bunny: I like that memory. It’s snuggly.
Scientist: Now, my love, pay close attention to her house as we drop her off.
Knight: (Gasps.) It is the same house. That is the orphanage where you were brought after your parents died. Which means Lilly must have lived there too.
Cheerleader: Lil, is she the blurry one in the images?
Scientist: That would be my guess. My love, examine those images again. What do you see now?
Bunny: Look, Lilly is appearing on the bed. She’s trying to comfort you.
Cheerleader: And she’s sitting next to you at dinner. Oh, I love solving a mystery.
Knight: And the room with the lamp and the curtains. She is there offering you flowers. How could it be that she was blurred out of these images until now?
Scientist: I’m not certain, but I suspect…
Fear: You suspect the truth.
(Sound of a sword unsheathed as Knight draws her weapon in response to the sudden threat.)
Fear: We are not sleeping peacefully. We have been attacked. We have been assaulted. We… have… been… VIOLATED!!!
Knight: Stay back, foul creature. I do not know what you are, but I will not allow you to hurt my love.
Fear: Don’t give me your self-righteous rhetoric, HYPOCRITE! If you truly wanted to protect my love, you would be standing with me. I am the one protecting him now.
Knight: My love, draw your weapon. We can take on this threat together.
Fear: He cannot. You see how he stands immobilized right now. I have been working to prepare him for this threat for some time now. He knows my voice. He knows of what I speak. He is in my control.
Bunny: What are you?
Cheerleader: Seriously. You’re kind of like us, but a grotesque, misshapen, three-headed version of us. Ewwww.
Fear: Come now. Do you truly not know who I am? The science girl understands.
Knight: Lil?
Scientist: Remember when I said most of you shut down for a time? This one remained active. Well, I say this one. It’s actually an amalgamation of three different aspects of my love’s personality; fear, anger, and depression.
Cheerleader: And one hundred percent nauseating.
Knight: Fear? You are in there? What are you doing? You should be by my side. You were always a part of our adventures, a voice of wisdom in dangerous situations helping to protect my love against foolishness or potential harm.
Fear: Which is what I’m doing now, fool. It is you who stand opposed to my love, not by his side. You claim to protect him, yet you take the face of his BETRAYOR!!
Knight: What? Lilly? The girl from the memories? She was trying to help, to comfort.
Fear: ALL LIES!!! She seeks us to destroy us.
Knight: I have had enough of this. Enough of you. You will cease your bitter assault on my love now. I will make you stop.
(Knight lunges at Fear, but a blast fires from Fear slamming Knight to the ground and pinning her there. The sword that was in her hand clanks on the ground nearby.)
Bunny: What the…? Where did this pulsating blast from your chest come from? How are you pinning Lilly to the ground like that? I’m scared. My love, hold me.
Fear: No! Stay away from my love, timid creature.
(A second blast radiates out from Fear pinning Bunny to the ground.)
Fear: I will not allow you to infect my love with your desire for compassion and approval. They are bait to lure him into the hunter’s snare. Your desire for the love of others leaves you weak and open to their vicious lies and it will be my love’s undoing.
Knight: (Struggling.) How… are you… doing… this?
Fear: I am so much more powerful than you can handle. When I understood the threat, I began merging with anger and depression in order to properly deal with the threat. I have been building my strength, focusing my power, and now that my enemy has revealed herself, I will deal with her my way.
Knight: Lilly… is not… an… enemy.
Scientist: To be certain, it appears that she may very well be.
Knight: Lil? What… are you saying?
Scientist: It is apparent that my love is in the unconscious situation that he is now facing due to a trauma of some sort. Exactly what that trauma is or what caused it has been unknown, however, I have surmised that it has something to do with Lilly.
For whatever reason, we have all taken her likeness. And, as I said before, after you took action and rescued Lilly and Lilly, a memory of Lilly surfaced. All seems to be centered around her, and so it seems likely that the traumatic experience may as well. You there, Lilly.
Fear: Do not call be by the name of the hated one.
Scientist: Very well, fear creature, the ogres and trolls sent to capture Lilly and Lilly, they were your minions, were they not?
Fear: Indeed, they were.
Scientist: It was a preventative attack to keep them from foiling your plans. You have information that we do not. You have the missing memories, don’t you?
Fear: Indeed, I do.
Scientist: Well then, by all means, show us. Show the rest of us, and my love, why you have decided to take this course of action.
Fear: By all means. See for yourselves the force of our undoing, the source of my hatred.
Knight: That’s… my love.
Scientist: Yes, I recognize our apartment. This memory takes place shortly after we turned eighteen and left the orphanage. In fact, if my calculations are correct by the existence and placement of certain objects in the room I know we recently purchased, this memory took place yesterday.
Fear: Very clever, and very correct. You were all in hiding, wallowing in pity when you should have been defending my love. I took action. Depression, anger, they helped me drive him. They helped me prepare him. But I didn’t have enough control yet to prevent… this.
Bunny: Hey, it’s Lilly. She’s in his room. What’s she doing there?
Lilly: Shh, shh, shhhhh. My love, it’s ok. It’s ok.
Knight: What… what did she… do?
Lilly: It’s ok, my love. I know the needle hurt, but it’ll just put you to sleep, ok. Don’t worry. I’ve got you. I’ve got you. You’re going to be ok. I’ll make sure of that. I promise. I love you. It’s ok. I promise I’ll make everything ok.
Bunny: Lilly. It was Lilly that did this to us.
Fear: Now do you see? I knew an attack was coming. I knew we were truly on our own. When our mother and our father died, there was nobody left. Nobody wanted us. We were loathed, despised, HATED!!! Only I knew. Only I could see. Someone would take advantage of our isolation. It was Lilly. Lilly harmed us. Lilly stole us. I will be the one to save us. I will… OUCH!
Cheerleader: Ha, ha. Didn’t see that coming, did ya, ya stupid dink.
Fear: What are you doing?
Cheerleader: What I always do. I’m on an adventure, but this time, you’re the bad guy. Hyah!
Fear: AARRRGH!!! Stop it. You’re hurting me.
Cheerleader: Uh, duh. That’s kind of the point.
You were so focused on little miss bunny ears and the big bad knight over there, that you totally weren’t watching when I picked up her sword. You may be more powerful as three in one, but you’re already spending two thirds of your power holding down two of us. The makes the odds one to one the way I see it.
And, I’ve got a sword. So, you know what. I’m going to place the odds back on our side. Let’s cut depression out of the picture, shall we. Hyah!
Fear: Nooooooooooo!
Cheerleader: And now to behead anger. Hyah!
Fear: Stop! What have you done? (Voice fades back to regular Fear here.) You’ve ruined everything.
Cheerleader: Ruined, saved, to-may-to, to-mah-to. Hear you go, Lilly. You can have your sword back. And let me help you up.
Knight: Thanks, Lilly. Good work, there.
Bunny: Isn’t someone going to help me up too.
Cheerleader: Sorry, Lilly. Here you go.
Bunny: Thanks.
Fear: You fools. You’ve doomed us all. I needed control. I needed to save us. You were too weak to understand the threat. You’re too weak to handle this.
Scientist: That is a possibility. But it is also possible that your actions have only harmed us further.
Fear: How can you say that. You saw the evidence. She attacked us.
Scientist: We only saw the evidence you wished to present. But I suspected that there was more that you didn’t want us to see.
You took all of the footage of Lilly away from our love and from the rest of us because you didn’t want us forming our own conclusions. When your minions were stopped, some of what you hid was released. And when Lilly stopped you now…
Cheerleader: (Brightly.) You’re welcome.
Scientist: …your hold on the rest of my love’s memories have also been released. Let’s go back to that dinner scene, shall we?
Lilly: Thank you for sitting with me. You’re the best friend I’ve ever had.
Scientist: Not exactly the words of an enemy.
Fear: She’s a liar. She’s manipulating us.
Scientist: And this one.
Lilly: I got these flowers for you. I know they were your mom’s favorites. I hope they cheer you up.
Fear: Stop it. Stop playing this back.
Scientist: And sitting by us on the bed.
Lilly: I know what you’re going through. I went through the same thing when my parents died. I wish you would let me in. I want to help you. I… I love you.
Fear: LIES!! Can’t you all see it! She was setting us up!
Scientist: And you may be correct, but you are examining the evidence only through the eyes of fear. A good scientist examines all of the evidence in its proper context, not just isolated bits and pieces.
Remember how I told you all that even while asleep we record what’s around us. Watch this.
Cheerleader: Hey, this is his room. This is his bedroom before his parents died.
Bunny: He’s sleeping, but Lilly is there. How is Lilly there?
Knight: This is after we rescued her from those bullies, but before the death of our parents.
Scientist: That is correct. Now listen.
Lilly: (Softly. Lovingly, but mournfully.) I wish you could hear me now. I wish I was brave enough to tell you to your face just how much… I love you. When my parents died, I was so alone. I was so afraid. I thought I had nobody.
Bunny: That sounds like how my love felt.
Knight: Shh, I want to hear this.
Lilly: And then you came along. You rescued me. You saved me. But more than that, you held me. You made me feel something again. You made me feel love again.
I know that I kissed you unexpectedly. I’m sorry about that, by the way. I didn’t mean to. It just happened.
But you didn’t flinch. You didn’t pull away. You kissed me back… and then smiled at me. You carried me home and made sure I was safe before you left.
I want you to know how grateful I am and how wonderful I think you are. I see you at school all of the time. I know you’ve seen me too, because you’ve smiled at me several times. You even walked towards me once. I think you wanted to talk with me… but I ran away.
I’m so sorry. I guess I’m still fighting on the inside with the fear that nobody can really love me.
Cheerleader: Preaching to the choir, sister.
Bunny: Amen.
Knight: Would you both shut up!
Lilly: Anyway, you keep smiling at me whenever you see me. Thank you for that. It makes my day.
You don’t walk up to me anymore, but I know that even that is because you care. You don’t want to frighten me.
But I’m getting stronger, I promise. Your love is helping me grow. And when I’m strong enough, I’ll tell you, and I’ll do whatever it takes to love you back. You deserve all of my love. I’ll protect you the way you protected me. I’ll always love you, I promise.
(Pause.)
Scientist: There’s more. Much more, actually, but it all generally follows along those lines. A blush when you smile at her. A few more late night visits to your bedroom, one where she leaves with your sweater so she could wrap herself up in it and imagine it was you.
And then, after your parents passed away, there are countless times where she was doing her best to love you in any way she could at the orphanage, but you were already listening to fear at that point and couldn’t hear her speak.
Fear: As you should be listening now.
Knight: Oh, would you stop.
Fear: She broke into my love’s room. She violated his privacy. And now she has taken away his very freedom. She has knocked him out and tied him up.
Knight: Tied him up? Lil?
Scientist: That would appear to be the case. The first memory I showed you, the one where Lilly is pleading with us to wake up and professing her love, it seems that she has you tied up at that point.
Cheerleader: Whoa. She’s gone full yandere on us.
Bunny: I realize that I’m speaking as the one who’s always tied up here, but I’m honestly wondering, is that bad?
Fear: Yes, it’s bad. Of course it’s bad. What’s wrong with all of you. She’s taken him captive, and she plans to harm him.
Knight: Or love him. She is hurt and broken like he is. She may be somewhat misguided, but I think she is honestly trying to protect him.
Fear: Somewhat misguided? SOMEWHAT MISGUIDED!?! She poisons him, ties him up, and carries him off to who knows where and you say she’s trying to protect him? How can you say that?
Knight: Because she kept trying long after I had given up hope. And I think that part of the reason why I am back and fighting again, is because of her.
Scientist: So, my love, you have all of the evidence. You will return shortly, and only you can decide how you act. You’ve heard all of the opinions.
Bunny: Hold her, my love. She needs you.
Cheerleader: Hey, whatever happens, enjoy it, ok? This looks like it’s going to keep getting wilder.
Knight: I think she wants to protect you if you will let her. But I promise that I will not hide any longer. I’ll be here.
Scientist: Fear? Any last words?
Fear: Just… just be careful. Ok?
Scientist: Always remember that we’re a part of you. Goodbye, my love. My love.
(Scientist fades out. Lilly fades in.)
Lilly: My love? My love? My love!
(Speaking very fast and emotional.) Oh, my love, you’re back. You’re back. Thank God, you’re finally awake.
Oh, I was so afraid that I’d messed up and you weren’t coming back. I’m so sorry if I got the dose wrong. I wanted to make sure it was enough to allow me to bring you here, but then you wouldn’t wake up and wouldn’t wake up, and I was so scared. And I…
(Pause.)
Ok, ok, I’ll calm down.
(Crying.) I just couldn’t bear to lose you. I’m so sorry.
I love you. I love you so much. When you left the orphanage, I was so lost without you.
I’m so sorry for kidnapping you. I just… I love you. I couldn’t lose you. I can’t lose you. I can’t be without you. You are the most wonderful thing that’s ever happened to me and I’ve had to watch you fall into despair for so long, and I wanted to rescue you from that. That’s all. Really. I would never hurt you. I swear.
Are you ok? Are you feeling ok now?
(Pause.)
Yes, I know you’re tied up. And I’m sorry. I really didn’t want to, but I just can’t let you go. Please understand that I just can’t. I’m too afraid.
(Pause.)
No, I can’t untie you. Not yet anyway. I’m sorry. I just can’t. You’ll leave me. I’m so afraid that you’ll leave me, and I just… I just can’t let that happen.
(Pause. As she speaks, she’s not crying, but she continues to sniffle and wipe away her tears.)
Only untie your arms? You’re wanting me to keep everything else tied down so I can feel certain that you can’t get away?
(Pause.)
Well,… ok. I guess you couldn’t get away. There’s a chain on your leg right now, so I guess it’s safe for me to release your arms,… at least for a little while, so, yeah.
Here. I’ll just untie your arms like that, and… whoa. You’re hugging me. You’re hugging me. It's so wonderful. It’s just like I remember you holding me. Please don’t let go.
(Pause.)
Thank you? You’re… thanking me for kidnapping you?
No, for rescuing you? Rescuing you from depression and fear?
Oh, my love. I don’t know what to say.
(Pause.)
Yes. Yes, that’s my name. Lilly. I wasn’t sure you’d remember. At the orphanage, you were so…
(Kiss.)
You kissed me.
(Laughter through tears.) That’s right, my love, I didn’t flinch. I wouldn’t flinch from you. I love you.
(Pause.)
You love me too.
(Tears of joy.) Oh, my love. How I have longed to hear you say that. How I have waited for you to come back to me. The joy that I have now, I thought I would never experience.
(Pause.)
No, I’m sorry. I’m still so afraid. What if you’re just telling me what I want to hear so I untie you and you can run away from me?
(Pause.)
You understand? You know how fear can make us feel? You’re ok if I leave you chained her for now, as long as I stay here and hold you?
I will, my love. I’ll stay. I’ll never leave you. I promise. I’ll always be here for you. Thank you for wanting to be here for me.

2024.05.06 16:27 Yokos2137 Gold in Pyrite price - Datafrog S80 review

Gold in Pyrite price - Datafrog S80 review
A few weeks ago, while talking to a certain person on Discord about choosing a controller, as a joke, he sent me the cheapest possible controller, Datafrog S80, costing about 10$. I was so interested in this controller that I searched for a while and found one review of it. According to her, it wasn't too bad. However, the topic dropped and I didn't think about it for the next few days. A few days later, while browsing Aliexpress on a PC where I was not logged into my account, I noticed an offer for new accounts for this controller for less than 7$. At this point I decided that just for fun, I would check what this controller can do and share my thoughts. I invite you to read.

Packaging:

The controller comes to us in mint-colored packaging. On the front you will find information about the model, information that it is a wireless controller, information about compatibility (Nintendo Switch in all versions and PC) and a sketch of the controller, with an indication that it has RGB rings around the analogs. On the left side you will find information about the controller's bells and whistles, such as RGB, adjustable vibrations, Turbo function, 6-axis gyroscope and macro programming options along with additional rear paddles. On the right side there is further information that it is a wireless controller, and at the back there is information about the manufacturer. The remaining sides are devoid of prints.
At this point, I apologize for not attaching photos of the packaging, but the courier decided to play parcel ball, which, combined with the average packaging of sellers on Aliexpress, meant that it was not very representative and I decided to spare the eyes of those reading this.

Contents:

Inside the box we will find an almost loose pad, almost, because it has a foam protective foil, luckily it was enough for the contents to arrive intact, a surprisingly long USB-C cable, about 2 m long, but without a braid (I wouldn't expect this in such a cheap product) and user manual, which turns out to be very useful because the controller does not have dedicated software.

Controller specifications:

  • "Producer": Datafrog
  • Layout: Switch
  • Supported connections: Wired/BT
  • Analogues: Alps
  • Triggers: Membrane - Digital
  • ABXY and Dpad switches: membrane
  • Bumpers: Mechanical
  • Additional: 2 mechanical ones at the back
  • Vibration motors: 2 symmetrical
  • Built-in battery: 1000mAh
  • Additional information: RGB backlight controlled by a switch on the back, switch to change the vibration strength, pairing switch, USB-C connector
Putting the word "producer" in quotation marks probably arouses interest, so I hasten to explain why I wrote that. This controller is the easiest rebrand in the world. I don't want it to sound like a disadvantage, because there is nothing wrong with it, but there are a lot of almost identical controllers on Aliexpress. Of course, I'm not sure if these are exactly the same controllers, so I will only comment on the Datafrog item.

First feelings and observations:

The first thing I noticed after taking this controller in my hand was how light it was. Compared to my Machenkie G5 Pro, the difference is noticeable. The second thing you notice is the quality of workmanship. And I have to praise the producer here, the actual one, because it's not bad. The controller is stiff, does not bend in the hands and does not creak at every step. The quality of composite materials is also not the worst. Maybe it's not the highest level, but for 7$ I expected much worse. The plastic itself is not a great magnet for any scratches or fingerprints. An additional advantage is the presence of a texture that improves grip. It's not perfect, but it will make the controller feel a bit more secure in your hands. However, due to the shape and size of the grips themselves, it will unfortunately try to escape from our hands if we apply force to it. ABXY and Dpad work ok, it's definitely not a click like in e.g. a stock Xbox or Playstation pad, but it is correct, the pivot in the Dpad is a very big plus, which will prevent us from pressing all four directions at once. The bumpers in this controller are a very nice surprise, in my opinion, they have a very low and quite hard jump, which makes them very responsive, but I have to give them a small minus because they are a bit too long and too low for me. Triggers, no surprise, work properly. Unfortunately, the disadvantage of membrane triggers will always be a rather unusual feeling, but it is definitely worth giving them credit for the fact that they do not require much space and are very cheap to produce. Moving on to the rear buttons. They are placed in a good place, but they could be a bit bigger and in my opinion they have a slightly too high and soft jump. I left the analogues for the very end, these are, as I wrote above, alps. Even though I'm a big fan of solutions based on Hall Effect technology, I can't say that they are the worst. They work quite linearly, you don't feel any significant resistance when moving the knob. This may not be at the level of alps used by, for example, BigBig Won in their Rainbow 2 Pro, however, is very nice. Unfortunately, they do not have POM rings, which are also intended to reduce analog resistance and the generated noise, but it is not a must-have in this budget. Unfortunately, the analog sticks themselves collect dust and dirt quite a lot. I will skip dwelling on the functional switches, they are there and they work, nothing extraordinary. I will quickly mention the RGB backlight, it has several presets, the colors are unfortunately a bit faded, but you cannot see individual diodes, which is a tiny plus. Unfortunately, when we move the analogue device, it enters the backlight zone, which makes it less visible, but it is not a major disadvantage.

Guts:

Before we even get into the actual testing of the controller, let's take a look inside. After removing 6 screws and struggling with the latches for a while, you will see the green PCB. And on it are the triggers, which interestingly have an analog diaphragm, which probably causes this tiny problem which I will write about later, the battery, which is quite large, and the rear switches. Interestingly, there is a rather large additional button. It turns out that it is hidden under a hole in the back casing. It serves as an off switch, but why was it added? It is unknown. There are also vibration motors that can be detached, which is a big plus, because some more expensive controllers do not have this option. The last thing is the BT antenna embedded in the PCB at the top of the controller. When it comes to the quality of soldering, I rate it as very good, there are no flux residues or cold solders anywhere.
Moving to the other side of the controller, we will see two analogs, and if we look at them, we will see the Ginfull logo, a pleasant surprise that no noname analogs were used here. Of course, these are not Hall Effect, which Ginfull did in an exemplary practical way when it comes to alps based. Moving on, we find the membranes for the buttons and Dpad. And even higher are the switches than the bumpers. The RGB diodes are soldered into the PCB and there are 4 of them per analogue.
As for the casing, there is nothing extraordinary in it, everything is in its place, there is no need to elaborate.
Now what is this problem with triggers that I mentioned above? Unfortunately, due to the average workmanship of these triggers, at least in my copy, they have different activation points. You can get used to it, but there is a big minus for this pad.

Nerdy tests

Quick note: I didn"t finisged my stick latency testing method, so i made only button latency tests

xinput - wired

In the case of xinput tests, the pad performs decently. Unfortunately, we have a small problem with the internal and external dead zone (around 1%), but it will be practically unnoticeable. Likewise, I didn't notice any problems with skipping zones.
There is no problem with stick tremor or axis snapping. As for the biggest surprises, they will definitely be the circularity, which will present us with an error of 0%, which is, as you can guess, an ideal result, and the resolution, which in this case exceeds 300 positions (according to my calculations, about 303 positions). Unfortunately, I was not able to check the centering of the analogue due to the dead zone, but I know that it is within 1%. Input latency is tolerable for a wired controller, 17.5ms avg in GPDL with a spike of up to 24ms, at 125Hz Polling rate.

Switch - Bluetooth

In this case, the analog's performance looks similar, but not the same. In this case, unfortunately, the internal dead zone deepens slightly (up to about 5%) and the problem of stick tremor occurs. However, the resolution is also increasing, because we receive about... 2,000 posistons. The circularity error drops to 0.1%, which is an unnoticeable value. Input latency in switch mode is surprisingly good, with AVG at 18ms and max at 40ms.

Feelings of use

Synthetics tests are synthetics tests, but how do you play with this controller? I will say this, it is possible, but it is not easy. The main problem are these unfortunate triggers. You can feel them, but playing games like Asseto Corsa or BeamNG.Drive was impossible on them. Additionally, playing the more dynamic Everspace, which is based on moving in all possible directions on the pad, is also not the easiest (but i think this is my skill issue). So what can you play on such a pad? Two titles that were very enjoyable to play on this pad were Portal and Ghostrunner, especially since in these games we don't gain anything from the analog triggers. The third very nice title was... the good old original Spintires, in which the precision of the high-resolution Alps really gives measurable benefits, even with a dead zone of 1%. Another type of game in which this controller should be perfect will be all kinds of platformers and shooters. Overall, after spending a few days with this controller, I can't say it handles poorly. As for the programmable Macro, the feature works well, as do the paddles.

Summary

To be honest, I didn't expect the controller to be cheap for such good results. In fact, we have these unfortunate digital triggers, but actually this is the biggest drawback of this controller, or more precisely, their biggest drawback is the different activation points. But apart from that, it's hard for me to fault anything and I can honestly say that this controller has more advantages than disadvantages. But, it is any good?? For around 10$, to be honest, it's a pretty decent option, but for a higher amount there should be more interesting options, especially on the secondary market.

2024.05.03 18:04 hugobosslives Stab area to front foil area formula?

Is there a formula or way to calculate what stab size is needed for different front foils?
I started with a kit that included a medium aspect 1900 and 1450cm2 front foils and a 350cm2 rear stab.
I've since bought a smaller 1200cm2 higher aspect foil, that is also considerably thinner than the beginner foils. I intend to also buy a 900-1000cm2 foil soon.
Do I need to buy a smaller stab? E.g. 250cm2? How does this relationship work between front and rear sizes work?

2024.05.01 17:15 NotRlyaReditor What I Ate During Recovery!

DISCLAIMER: I am very aware that these are not the healthiest options. I did not count calories during recovery and I still haven’t (I’m now 3.5WPO). These meals were the easiest options for me. I know this won’t work for everyone, but these are the things that worked best for me as far as protein intake & convenience goes. Please don’t make any comments about how I should or shouldn’t be eating. If any of y’all in recovery have suggestions for others who might read this post, feel free to comment them! I know I was stressed about food before surgery and any suggestions helped. Thank you! 🫶🏻
I apologize to the vegans & vegetarians that stumble across this post. I do not have any options for y’all here. If you can’t find any help with that, DM me and I’ll do my best to come up with some recipes!!! Peace & love! :)

• Breakfast Casserole — MEAL PREP
https://www.plainchicken.com/sausage-hash-brown-breakfast-casserole/
Serving size: 1 slice of casserole
21g Protein / serving (I calculated this myself so no guarantees but I did my best! This is if you use whole milk)
Delicious. I made this the night before surgery and it was so convenient. My mom came to stay with my dad & me for a couple days post-op and the three of us were able to eat on this for days.
• Chicken Noodle Soup — MEAL PREP
https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/lightened-creamy-chicken-noodle-soup/
Serving size: 1 cup of soup
20g Protein / Serving (when using whole milk)
This is my FAVORITE chicken noodle soup recipe. So damn good. I made this the day before surgery and we ate on it for the first week. I know not everyone here likes to cook, so I understand if this one is too much for some. Canned chicken noodle soup is not as good but very convenient. However, if you have ANY way to get this ready the day before surgery, I highly recommend. I made a 9x13 of focaccia bread to go with it and it was the perfect comfort meal after surgery.
• Shredded Chicken & Bean Burritos MEAL PREP
https://www.mindyscookingobsession.com/chicken-black-bean-burritos/
Serving size: 1 burrito
20g Protein / Serving
I didn’t make this exact recipe, I just made my own. This one is very similar. I made Mexican shredded chicken in the crockpot and then made burritos with a can of black beans and shredded Mexican-blend cheese. I formed the burritos and then wrapped them in foil individually. I stored half of them in the fridge and the other half in the freezer. When it was time to thaw one, I let it thaw in the fridge overnight. I didn’t heat the tortillas until I was ready to eat to prevent the tortilla from getting soggy. In the earlier days, I’d have my dad throw a burrito in a skillet on the stove until it was browned and crispy.
• Great Value Frozen Chicken Nuggets
Serving size: 4 nuggets
11g Protein / Serving
In the earlier days of recovery, I would throw 10 of these nuggets in the air fryer and get an easy 25g of protein. Super yummy. You could pair with a salad or whatever you like on the side!
• RATIO Vanilla Protein Yogurt
25g Protein / Yogurt Cup
I bought a bunch of these from Walmart and topped with granola when I needed to get a quick snack / sweet treat. Super easy protein source & pretty affordable. Any yogurt will do, I just love this one in particular.
• Nature Valley Protein Granola
Serving size: 2/3 cup
13g Protein / serving
My favorite granola. Any granola you like will do if it’s packed with protein. Pairs so well with the RATIO vanilla yogurt and fruit. Yum!!!!!!
• Fairlife Protein Shakes
26g Protein
These are my favorite premade protein shakes just because I think they taste the best. Any protein shakes you like will do. I found that these tasted more like milk to me. The vanilla ones taste like melted ice cream. I tried the premier protein shakes and I just don’t like them 😩 To each their own!
— I have a post on here about my favorite homemade protein shake. It’s a chocolate and peanut butter banana shake.
• PINEAPPLE GINGER TEA!!!
https://tastythriftytimely.com/pineapple-skin-ginger-turmeric-tea/
I ate lots of pineapple during recovery to reduce bruising and inflammation (per the advice of some people on this Reddit). Pineapple contains Bromelain, which helps reduce inflammation after surgery. Instead of throwing away the pineapple skin and all of the trimmings I didn’t eat, I boiled them with ginger root & turmeric to make a homemade tea. This is the recipe I used. I drank it hot at night and over ice during the day. It was so delicious. I made this the day before surgery, as well. I don’t know for SURE that this helped with my inflammation but I’m so convinced that it did. Please give this a try.
Here are some things I ate / drank that don’t need recipes:
Peanut butter & honey toast — peanut butter is an easy source of protein for someone like me who loves peanut butter.
Fruit — helped with bowel movements and hydration. Veggies — cuz it’s good for you.
Prune juice — totally helped with bowel movements.
Gatorade — yummy and helped with hydration.
LOTS of water!!!!!!

2024.04.29 03:03 TemporaryDeal3463 I'm not used to reddit, so I'm posting this here.

• How old are you? What's your gender? Give us a general description of yourself.
-I am a 30-year-old biological female, mentally male most of the time.
• Is there a medical diagnosis that may impact your mental stability somehow?
-I don't think so. I'm relatively mentally stable, I think.
• Describe your upbringing. Did it have any kind of religious or structured influence? How did you respond to it?
-My upbringing was relatively boring. I have my parents and my two younger sisters (28 and 22). I think that my parents were irresponsible for wanting to have children for their reasons. My parents both broke out of religious households and my sisters and I (have one wish before we die and it may sound strange as if our minds are deranged) grew up sans religion. (Extra credit points if you get the reference.)
• What do you do as a job or as a career (if you have one)? Do you like it? Why or why not?
-I am employed as a veterinary assistant by my veterinarian mother. Yay, nepotism. I don't really enjoy my job, but I get paid fairly well for the hours I put in. I enjoy working more when it's just me and the vet because then I have way more control over everything than when the other assistant(s) and the receptionist are at the clinic. When it's just me and the veterinarian, I can get the vet and her patient prepared and in surgery, set up for all of the appointments and other surgeries during the day, prepare vaccine certificates, take phone calls and assist clients, get the X-ray table ready, do any bloodwork/urinalysis for patients done, schedule appointments, and overall get everything done how I want to get it done right then.
• If you had to spend an entire weekend by yourself, how would you feel? Would you feel lonely or refreshed?
-I could probably spend eons by myself and not get sad or lonely. I can have my surroundings be as quiet as I want them.
• What kinds of activities do you prefer? Do you like, and are you good at sports? Do you enjoy any other outdoor or indoor activities?
-I'm not really good at sports, especially team sports. I do like archery, cycling, hiking, weightlifting, kettlebell exercises, weight drafting/pulling and can pull my 1.5 ton car on good days.
• How curious are you? Do you have more ideas then you can execute? What are your curiosities about? What are your ideas about - is it environmental or conceptual, and can you please elaborate?
-First of all, it's *than. I would say that I am pretty curious, I think. I don't really know about executing ideas. I tend to hyperfocus on one thing, if this is what the question is asking. Most my "ideas" are storylines in my head and I have a couple of those. Other more realistic (at least I think they're realistic) ideas are more based on the future of humanity and future civilizations and other crap like that.
• Would you enjoy taking on a leadership position? Do you think you would be good at it? What would your leadership style be?
-I do not want to take on a leadership role. I think if I had someone else to tell what to do who would do what I say would be the best way that I could be a leader.
• Are you coordinated? Why do you feel as if you are or are not? Do you enjoy working with your hands in some form? Describe your activity?
-Coordinated as in calculated or not clumsy? Well, I enjoy gardening, home improvement, and all of the physical things I said about the sports question.
• Are you artistic? If yes, describe your art? If you are not particular artistic but can appreciate art please likewise describe what forums of art you enjoy. Please explain your answer.
-I am pretty artistic, but not the most. I draw mostly tangible things like dogs, cats, horses, and humans. I also like drawing dragons and aliens and other crap. I would just say that animals and outside scenery are the main focus of my drawing. I also draw some surreal and kaleidoscope-esque things and other things. I am not very good with clay, but I like making tiny clay sculptures. I also like making music. I play a dozen different instruments and use my ability to read music (western notation and tablature) to play with modes, transpose, transcribe, etc my sheet music from lessons and schools in between each instrument. It's a sort of my own little game with my own rules for me. I can do this by ear, but it's more fun and more challenging with actually mapping things out. I also incorporate basic algebra and the FOIL method into my music theory game rules. I don't know if that made sense.
• What's your opinion about the past, present, and future? How do you deal with them?
-I think we can learn from the past, but it's not something to get hung up on. Wars, genocides, mass extinctions, and more efficient ways of life (on a softer note) are something to consider. I think it's kind of stupid when parents don't understand that their child is an adult and has changed while they won't let the past go, or whatever. For the present, it's just here. I just go along with whatever is thrown my way whether I can take it or not in the end. For the future? I'm not sure. I don't want to sound contradictory to what I said about the present, but while the present is here and is... here, I like to think about what I can be doing in the future. I will reach my 80lb weight loss goal in 1 year, for one example. I will have this sort of "devil on the deep blue sea behind me" moment (another reference of The Police) if I can just figure out how to break those chains that bind me here.
• How do you act when others request your help to do something (anything)? If you would decide to help them, why would you do so?
-If it's something that I can realistically and physically help them with, then I will help them. If it's something isn't detrimental to me, I don't see why not. If I can't help them with something, then I will point them to something or someone who can.
• Do you need logical consistency in your life?
-Yes.
• How important is efficiency and productivity to you?
-It is very important. I think it should be important to everyone. Like I said in an earlier question, I like to take charge of the productivity because then I know it will get done correctly even if it's not done how someone would like it done.
• Do you control others, even if indirectly? How and why do you do that?
-Yes and yes. As said earlier, I get everything in my external surroundings prepared exactly how I think it should be done and everyone else (whether coworker or client, at least in the workspace) just follow with what I already have set up. Other than at work, I don't really interact with other people all that much, so I just have control over people at work.
• What are your hobbies? Why do you like them?
-My hobbies are the exercise things and "art" things that I mentioned earlier along with reading books. I enjoy them because they are essentially an escape from reality as well as that I make a little money from taking drawing commissions for art roleplay games, so there's something to that. The exercise and music are more for helping my mind and body. I can come home to walk on my treadmill for an hour, do some deadlifts, and then play bass a little bit once I have exerted myself, for a small example.
• What is your learning style? What kind of learning environments do you struggle with most? Why do you like/struggle with these learning styles? Do you prefer classes involving memorization, logic, creativity, or your physical senses?
-I could have done better in school with how smart I was (my teachers would pull me out of class and would nag me about my grades). I had to have paras in some classes for some reason, but they and the teachers both sucked at explaining things to me in ways that I would understand. I think my science and band classes had the highest grades. I was bad at math and with understanding what my English literature and writing teachers were trying to teach me. TLDR for this is that I can't learn things on other people's terms. For school in specific, if I had dropped out and learned the world my way without the pressure of grades, I probably would have learned things a lot quicker. I like a lot of things now that I hated learning in school. I know that this question isn't all about school. I think logic and creativity would be most how I prefer classes. With science classes and band, I could easily use both.
• How good are you at strategizing? Do you easily break up projects into manageable tasks? Or do you have a tendency to wing projects and improvise as you go?
-This depends on the task. I have a bunch of notes that I make for myself regarding a task so that I can come back and either do it the same if it works or change it if it messed up. Usually, I start something completely new sometimes by winging it and piecing things together to what works in the most convenient way.
• What are your aspirations in life, professionally and personally?
-Well, like I said before, I'd like to lose 80 more pounds by the end of this year. I'd like a different career and to move out of the current state I live in. I'd also like to keep myself independent for the rest of my life.
• What are your fears? What makes you uncomfortable? What do you hate? Why?
-I don't really have any fears. Smalltalk and hyper people make me uncomfortable. People trying to "help" me with things I've already planned out because they think their way is better without thinking things through or explaining why their way is better annoy me. Clients who come in and tell some dumb sob story about how their dog was badly abused by its previous owner and about how sick it makes them to think about it annoy me. Do they abuse their dog? No. The dog is with them, now. They need to stop worrying about the dog's past because the only "trauma" their dog has now is its owner's negative and irrational emotions towards the past situation.
• What do the "highs" in your life look like?
-My highs are that pretty on top of the world feeling. It can be little things like getting my rent, utility bills, and car payments done on time. I also am more mentally "aggressive" if that makes sense. Usually, I keep my highs internal. I don't really know how to explain the non-sensory highs.
• What do the "lows" in your life look like?
-The lows are me being externally crabby, no motivation to do anything, naggy, eating an ungodly amount of unhealthy and savory food. I think "bitchy" is a good way to describe it.
• How attached are you to reality? Do you daydream often, or do you pay attention to what's around you? If you do daydream, are you aware of your surroundings while you do so?
-What is spatial awareness? I am aware that I am here, but I feel very detached from my body almost constantly. I can completely lose myself in whichever of my storylines I want to. I do it at work a lot where I can just autopilot my body while my brain goes to LaLa Land.
• Imagine you are alone in a blank, empty room. There is nothing for you to do and no one to talk to. What do you think about?
-If it's a blank and empty room, that sounds like prime breeding grounds to just zone out and not think about anything. If I get bored, I can revisit my internal storylines and look for something in their to either start a new storyline or go back and rewatch one of my other filed storylines. I often like to think about if I were to trade bodies with an unrelated biological cisgender male and about the differences that I would experience like what having a higher center of gravity would feel like, for one. Another thing is what a civilization would do with having to harness radiation from black holes to use as power.
• How long do you take to make an important decision? And do you change your mind once you've made it?
-This depends on the situation. If it's a pet that broke its back and has no use of any of its legs, that's an automatic euthanasia. Other times, because I have no examples right off the top of my head for this, it can probably take a while for it to mull over.
• How long do you take to process your emotions? How important are emotions in your life?
-So, everyone's emotions are valid, but they should not let them get in the way of logic. I feel pretty calm most of the time, but sometimes there will be one thing that just sets me off and then I get passive aggressive and snappy. These times are all shallow and short-lived, though.
• Do you ever catch yourself agreeing with others just to appease them and keep the conversation going? How often? Why?
-Not really. I don't like talking to people just to talk and I will tell them what I think if they ask for my opinion. If something comes up in their conversation that I can reply to, if it's something I disagree with I'll answer them so long as they will listen without interrupting my point of view. If they get hissy with me for disagreeing, then they shouldn't have asked for my opinion. This only goes for people who engage in conversation with me. I do not seek out conversation with others unless it's important information.
• Do you break rules often? Do you think authority should be challenged, or that they know better? If you do break rules, why?
-I break rules if the rule in place doesn't make sense. If the rule does make logical sense, then I'll follow it. I follow most rules at work, but sometimes I'll be extremely honest with clients and tell them things that I think they need to hear even if the vet yells at me later for it. She usually puts the receptionist and me in charge of bluntness, though, because she can't bring herself to hurt her clients' feelings. In the real world, this also depends on the rules broken because I don't want to do something against the rules (speeding, for instance) and have to fork money over for a ticket or go waste time in a court of something that could have been avoided if I had followed the rule in the first place. Authority figures depend on the person in charge. Some of them do and some of them don't. I don't know what else to say about this. I think it's pretty straightforward.

Discussion on calculating EV
Hi All,
I am working on a calculation for EV and want to run some information past some other eyes before I start coding it:
https://preview.redd.it/kpfzi3kycawc1.png?width=1090&format=png&auto=webp&s=78cd6686d33194c1b17933371cba3d5510ee99eb
Does anyone know of any information that contradicts the information I have found on the pull rates of rarities and the location within the pack they can be found? Thanks!
Note: thanks to u/bgg-jerrylshen I know about Foil Hyperspaces Rares being missing.

In the spirit of boycotting those in control of food supplies, I present the first small lettuce harvested from my Kratky bin overwinter project! Beans were also harvested. The lettuce in the photo was germinated on Feb 9th and harvested on April 22nd. I have been growing 14 lettuce, a zucchini, 2 tomato (flowering), 2 green bean (producing), and 3 pea (producing) in a space of less than 1.5m x 3m in my basement.
This sounds like some sort of brag however I say it because I would like to highlight what others have pointed out in some other posts and comments about the ease of growing your food for yourself as we take this struggle with our food supply seriously. I am not a pro at this by any means but I want to give a rundown for those who may not know how easily a working grow box can be setup with a little bit of time, money and small space. As mentioned, I am using the Kratky method which involves growing plants in a passive hydroponic system, the 'set it and forget it' method as I call it. This is just one of many ways to get going on the grow-your-own food journey but it is a quick and easy starter.
HARDWARE
For my setup, I am using the yellow and black tote bins with 2" holes drilled in the lid. I took some aluminum foil and duct-taped it over the lid to limit light reaching the nutrient solution that will be inside. Each drilled position gets a 2" netpot with a seed or previously started seedling in medium. I am using hemp cubes and clay balls as my growing mediums.
The bin size gets chosen based on how many lettuce or other crops you want to grow. Lettuce has been calculated fairly well to know exactly how much water is required to take it from seed to harvest. Knowing that, do the math! I'm using 45L bins and I've setup each bin with 8 positions for lettuce to grow.
NUTRIENT SOLUTION
This is the part that I think most struggle with because it requires some thinking to get things right. I have been using a chemical brand from an online retailer but I'm sure you can find your own easily enough. Avoid all-purpose single-chemical nutrients. The one I am using is a 3 stage chemical mix, and it works okay for what it is. If you have a hydroponic store in your area, stop in and talk to them!
You are going to need a pH and EC meter. Very important. They will give you all the correct readings on how to make sure you are mixing your nutrients right. It is not rocket science but it does require some close attention. Multiple resources online can help direct you on how to mix, and what the proper readings should be to make sure you are mixing the optimal nutrient solution for your plants.
LIGHTS AND ENVIRONMENT
My lights are 2000W LED from online for about $110-150 depending on sales. I don't mind the pink/purple but you can get white light versions now. Getting good quality lights is important so do your research on the good quality LEDs and which grow lights have them! I am running a 15-hour schedule turning on at 7:30am and off at 10:30pm. I have multiple lights but each individually can cover about 1.5m2 comfortably.
Depending on what you are growing, knowing the temperature and humidity levels that plants appreciate is helpful. I used my deep basement. It stays about 19 degrees all year round with humidity from 30-50%.
THE PLAY
So the thing with Kratky is that once you set things up there isn't a lot of maintenance. In the beginning, most of your time will be light watering with a spray bottle while the seedling roots grow and stretch through the growing medium heading to the nutrient solution below. Once the roots have made contact with the nutrient solution in the bin then the watering from above can be decreased or stopped. As the plants continue to drink the nutrient solution the level in the bin will drop, and this will provide the space required for roots to have access to air as they would in soil. Really once you're at this stage you are watching and waiting. Keeping an eye out for pests. Check the nutrient solution in the bins once in a while to make sure things haven't gone crazy in pH or something else.
dusts hands off enthusiastically
Easy!
'Well, hold on' you might say, 'you said this takes time, a little money invested, a small space, willingness to learn and patience.' Well, yes.
I don't have the time!
Each bin can be set up in under an hour. Maintenance is checking in twice a day. If you have read this far, you can handle the daily check-ins. Just make it a priority and part of your routine.
It costs too much to setup!
Yes, there is some investment. Investment is the keyword. The lights cost me $150 not on sale and are a one-time cost, with electricity use being minimal. Other hardware like bins and netpots were $25 and are reusable. Cheap pH and EC meter are $25. The nutrient solution mix is $30 and will be a somewhat regular purchase depending on the scale of growing. Growing medium varies as hemp cubes are single use and the clay balls are reusable. Seeds are generally a negligible cost.
I don't have space for that!
An empty closet space would do if the conditions were right!
I don't want to learn or don't have the patience!
Can't help you there, friend. That one is on you.
This isn't an all encompassing guide on how to do this but rather meant as a tease to see what it is possible with just a little bit. Just a small part of the journey toward being the master of even a tiny piece of your food supply.
Taking even a small fraction of your food supply control is important in support of the boycott. We need to be able to take that control into our own hands. And that takes work, time, money, and patience but as the title of my posts says 'You can do it!'. It will take some trial and error, and you will come across troubles and hiccups, and that's okay. There are a plethora of resources and communities willing to help.
May the strength of the boycott be with you!

2024.04.22 15:20 XspitfireA Simple CDF Software to calculate drag coefficient of a drone frame.

I am busy with a drone simulator and have made my way to calculating the drag from the frame, motors and battery.
In the past I used JavaFoil for aero foils. This worked really well as Java foil would supply the drag coefficient for a foil with an angle of attack from 0 to 360 degrees. This allowed me to calculate the drag using the standard drag formula after doing a lookup to find the Cd.
I do not need anything too complicated and was hoping I can pre-calculate the wetted area and drag coefficient of the drone (in reference to the airflow direction) and then just do a simple look up. Then using this to calculate the drag.
To do this, I imagine I need to get some CFD data for my model at a set a range of angles and then interpolate between them.
Is there something simple and free that I can use ? Or is this not a simple process ?
