A copypasta on how scared I am about roaches (first time writing a copypasta)

Cockroaches are little bugs that look like tiny coffee beans which are very terrifying to the point that they can turn into monsters. Oh shiver mi timberssss they have six legs that are the size of tiny little wood sticks that can reach to the heavens which is verrrrryyy concerninggg. Cockroaches are BEASTS to the society for many hoomans lilke me. To me, cockroaches are scary, agonizing, painful, jumpscares, stressful, frightening, horrifying, alarming, appalling, chilling, oh my gosh!! i have experiences with roaches they keep crawling and crawling and crawling and crawling and climbing and limbing towards me. i feel so flabbergasted seeing them everywhere because i never knew that they where known to be worldwide in every incgh of the earths. i never knew that people actually eat them! thats actually a very very very good solution to end the faer of roaches. for me, eating roaches are kinda so so so terrifying. I could imagine them doing the gangnam style in my stomach and also doing it on my head while they do the macarena in my sleep. They are so talented more than human children that they could even do the sturdy with six legs!! OH MY GOSH! Im in shock!! Do you know what roaches are? 2024.05.15 07:49 RouterRoast Master the Mini Brew: Craft Espresso at Home!

Espresso, a strong coffee, offers an energizing experience with its rich aroma, soft crema, and intense flavor. Brewing the perfect cup at home requires a bit of skill and a balance between accuracy and personal selection.
Tips:
  1. Go for fresh, dark roast beans for a good espresso, ensuring vibrant flavors and boldness. Grind them to a fine texture, similar to a table sugar.
  2. Familiarize yourself with the machine's features and functionalities, as most require preheating for optimal brewing temperatures, ensuring regular extraction and preventing unequal coffee brewing.
  3. Fill an Espresso maker with finely ground coffee, aiming for a slight dome. Use a tamp to compress the grounds, applying firm pressure for a consistent puck, as light tamps can result in watery espresso.
  4. The portafilter is used for extraction, which involves compressing coffee grounds to force hot water under pressure resulting in a rich, concentrated shot with an amazing crema.
Lastly, practice makes perfect, and with each delicious shot, you become a true home barista.
Enjoy the journey.
If you like it, thumbs up!

2024.05.15 06:37 ButteredPickle Joker Idea: The Inverter

Effect: Inverse the effect of surrounding jokers (immediate left and right)
Below is a list of how this joker would effect other jokers. I have bolded the changes to each effect to make it easier to see what is different.
I have italicized the effects that are only negative effects, I am not sure these effects should be included as a way to make this joker have downsides or not. On one hand its a cool idea because you need to manage the placement of this joker, but on the other hand this may be a very shallow complication to the gameplay of this joker and may not even be worthwhile. I would love to hear your opinions on this.
Also if there are (???) next to the effect I am unsure if this should be the inverted effect or not. The food items in particular I am unsure if they should get better over time instead of getting worse over time (and maybe if they do get better over time they should start as debuffs aka negative modifiers).
I will update this list with your ideas if they seem more cohesive or well thought out.
Also if anyone is interested in helping me turn this into a mod, please reach out. This idea is probably not going to leave my head until it gets implemented in some fashion. I have experience with coding and game development, but have never used love2d or looked into modding balatro)
Compatible Jokers (and new effect):
Thank you for your time lol

2024.05.15 05:59 Inevitable_Orange342 SOC L1 path Advice

Hi Everyone. I have made a path for myself on becoming a L1 SOC. Any advice or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I'll try to keep it short. I started my masters in cybersecurity in Fall 2023 and will graduate in May 2025.
Completed November 2023- Google cybersecurity by Coursera Jan 15th- cleared Security + March 2nd - Cleared BTL1 and SOC Level path from TryHackMe May 3rd- cleared CDSA by HacktheBox.
Below are my goals and objectives for the coming year 1- clear CCNA by July 1st week(I should have gotten a networking cert before but I made a mistake) Don't wanna do Network + over CCNA. 2- Clear CYSA + by September 1st week 3- complete a full Blown SOC home lab that includes splunk, lima Charlie, and much more. (Taking some help from Eric Capuano's blog) 4- Do another practical Blue team Cert probably CCD by December 2nd week.
Apart from this I actively participate in online platform like BTLO to hone my skills. Probably going to do BTLO till June end and then shift to TCM Security Labs. I tried getting a summer internship but couldn't. :(
I made my university CTF team as well so we participate every week in different ctf competitions.
As for my experience, this is somewhere I lack unfortunately. I only have 4 months of technical support internship and 3 months of Data Analyst. Did my bachelors in Mechanical engineering.
If you have read this far I greatly appreciate it. :)

2024.05.15 05:53 SlimeSpree MEGA SIZED Rodem review (with many pics!)

MEGA SIZED Rodem review (with many pics!)
Rodem Slime Shop
7.5oz for $12.99-19.50 Labels are now waterproof! Yaaay! đŸ’ȘđŸ»
I was so excited to get into this giant package from one of my favourite stores, and one I really love to support as they deserve it! This was actually a couple of orders I placed over time and Rodem contacted me to ask me if I wanted to combine them which demonstrates their incredibly attentive customer service. Usually the customer needs to contact the store for this to happen.
Included inside was powdered borax, a free gift slime for each order plus one more because it was a large order and they are generous. This exchange with Rodem got us chatting and then something very special transpired but I will post separately about that as I have to cram a lot of slime into this review and have limited space for images!
I had to brew a cup of tea, sit down and take my time going through all of these to make sure I combined all the correct things! It helps a lot that they are all pictured on the enclosed invoice but it would be helpful if they were packaged together. That having been said, separating the heavy pots of slime from the clays is a good idea when the order is this big and heavy so I can't complain!

  • LEMON TART (DIY butter snowfizz, lemon cookie scented)
This smelled OH SO good. The lemon and the cookie notes comes through and were just delicious and very realistic smelling! Sometimes lemon scent is reminiscent of citrus scented cleaning products to my nose but not this, this was an excellent effort. but My clay lemon was a little squished but clay often can be due to being delicate and tricky to package and the issue is not uncommon with any company.
The clay was soooo very soft, moist and pleasant to squish into the base. After you take the base out the pot you are met with a little bit of “caramel” sauce on the bottom of the pie. It’s all very mouth watering. This was the perfect, massively inflatable snow fizz and I was so in love with it. It was super crunchy and had the expected abundance of ASMR fizzles. It was beautifully activated and in every way a perfect slime. Some may find snow fizz a bit pokey but this wasn’t bad at all, the inflation was very cushioning!

  • TEA TIME (DIY clay, strawberry, blackcurrant, blackberry blended fruity scent)
The scent is fresh, fruity and yummy and the charms SO charming and well thought out! This clay was slightly stiffer and a tad dried out but the base extremely moist, silky and jiggly with tons of resistance on the pulls and I didn't end up with any lumps. It becomes extremely light, puffy, chubby and flubbery with massive pops and medium to soft clicks on the pokes which get louder as it inflates. I love Rodem’s take on this texture, it has all the awesome elements of the fluffy slimes I got from Seoul Gage but was more robust with no destabilisation issues (I found the SG ones a little dehydrated and sticky the next time I played.)

  • BUMPER CAR (silica sand x salt, rose scented, also a choice of peach scent if you prefer)
I love rose scent and this was PERFECT! It isn’t a perfume type scent, just pure, sweet rose water like rose Turkish delight or, indeed, actual rosewater. I was utterly obsessed! This was a stunning slime with a beautiful iridescent pink topper and the most gorgeous little pink bumper car charm. It sounded absolutely incredible to crunch and combine. The little pops, sizzles and crackles were out of this world. This was so heavy in silica crystals and yet not pokey as the pieces were quite smooth and small but of course your mileage may vary. I can’t express just how much I adored this slime, one of my all time favourites!

  • YUMMY POPCORN (styrofoam slay, caramel popcorn scented)
The fact this comes with a little paper popcorn bag containing the Styrofoam "popcorn" is the cutest touch ever! I adore Rodem, they think of everything to make the experience so incredibly fun. This smells just like freshly popped caramel popcorn with a tiny hint of sweet corn, I loved it! The two hyperrealistic popcorn charms that comes with it are hilarious!
The base was soft, jiggly, super clicky and fluffy and the Styrofoam really satisfying to crush into it. I just couldn’t get over how spectacular the scent was, it was making me hungry! This slime was a slightly looser slay texture and needed a little bit of activator to aid in handleability but not much. It had a few nice medium pops in it but very little hold, which unfortunately isn’t to my taste but many people love that. I was tied over this slime as the scent was just divine but I prefer more holdable textures. That is a reflection on my personal tastes however, not the slime which was great! If you like jiggly slays you’ll fall in love with this. I may not be a slay person but there is no way this wasn't going be a keeper, it had just too good a scent and crushing the styrofoam is great fun!
https://preview.redd.it/x9yw1riaci0d1.jpg?width=9009&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3f3ceaaf5020ef0116257b956ce3da686e84b61c

  • CAROUSEL (DIY clay, citrus fruit and aloe blend scented)
The scent wasn't bad but just wasn't a hit for me, a personal taste thing again. The clay was a little bit smooshed and it was tricky to tell what it was but extremely, soft squishy and moist. (Incidentally it was, you guessed it, a carousel 🎠)
The base was quite loose and jiggly and called for a little bit of activator but very soft, chubby, quite matte and pleasant in the hands. This combined into a huge, soft, marshmallowy mound of slime with a lovely plush surface. Super stretchy and fun to fold for soft bubble pops and lovely soft sizzles. It was a little on the loose side for my personal tastes but slay lover will again adore this! It was a well made slime.

  • EMMENTAL CHEESE CAKE (DIY clay/butter, savoury cheese cookie scented)
This was a very interesting, fun and unusual scent. A little sweet but notably savoury with a subtle hint of cheese. The first time I played with it I enjoyed the novelty but the second time I wasn’t sure if I loved it enough to buy again. It’s hard to describe but definitely worth trying.
The HUUUUUGE cheese clay came in a sealed package and was so soft and pleasant to squish. It became a ginormous, matte, sort of butter texture, which was both fairly holdable and yet exceedingly soft. It stuck to my play area a bit. It was quite a job to handle it on account of its size and a difficult texture to describe. It didn’t feel sticky at all on my play surface but stuck to my hands when I tried to pick it up and stretch it. When I pressed my hand into it on the surface it didn’t stick or feel sticky but if I picked it up to try and stretch it, it was very gooey and hard to shape. Activator didn’t seem to make that much of a difference. This was a texture unlike any other I’ve experienced. It’s one I’m a little lukewarm on but still enjoyed playing with for an unusual experience and worth it for the mega-sized clay cheese alone!

  • MIXED COFFEE (super gloss thick T&G, mixed coffee and coffee ice cream blend scented)
This was a delicious, very creamy coffee ice cream/frappe coffee creme scent, very rich with subtle notes of chocolate. It was a medium thickness, super clicky, moist glossy texture with decent resistance on the stretch. Very good and elastic with tons of bubble pops and wet crackles. This was an extremely pleasant and easy to play with moist and jiggly glossy slime. The longer you play the looser it gets but not problematically so.
https://preview.redd.it/hhob7e8ndi0d1.jpg?width=4823&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eac50e47e3ae4040528d30a10444dede22dea5aa

  • FUJI APPLE ICE CREAM (DIY cloud creme, apple scented)
A lovely, fresh, crisp apple scent. The clay apple is so cute with its velvety exterior and so perfectly made. It was amazing fun to squish. This combined to a super stretchy and ultra fuzzy cloud creme. It was extremely light and super sizzly. This was another texture which is familiar and yet very unusual on account of the extreme fuzziness. I loved it and found it pretty amazing to look at!
https://preview.redd.it/o5fah6ugei0d1.jpg?width=4905&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c3941974b12b9e28570cad567ace8fb1fa46f2d9

  • FLAT PEACH CAKE (DIY clay and coated jelly/fluffy snow, peach scented)
The base has an absolutely beautiful fresh peach scent. Another stunningly well made clay which looks so much like a peach with the way they have created the fuzzy surface and peachy-perfect colour shift. It was soft and great fun to combine into the jelly base. The resulting slime was nice and clicky with big, soft bubble pops. It really felt plush and soft-surfaced on my fingers as I stretched it and was very moist, chubby, jiggly and flubby when I set it down. This was ultra inflatable with nice soft sizzles.
https://preview.redd.it/u2372z0wei0d1.jpg?width=5691&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f60afeb65d0269a8d83619526e9b97a4c264cb49

  • YAKULT GELATO (DIY snow creme, Yakult scented
A pleasant, mild, fruity yogurty scent. The little scoops of ice cream were so soft, moist and great to squish. This started off with lots of resistance and a nice plush feel as I pulled it. It had moist clicks and soft bubble pops. While it gave a little bit as it warmed up, it did retain a bouncy and elastic stretch with a nice little bit of resistance. This is another fun, boingy, flubby, jiggly texture, which is super inflatable and great fun to play with.
https://preview.redd.it/uaecn0p0fi0d1.jpg?width=8457&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0009976a0dc188ea74922188d351bcc7aeef8dd1

  • MY COSY SPACE (cloud slime, sweet juicy peach/added perfume)
It’s so ironic that cloud slime is my favorite and yet I have so very few of them retained in my collection as I just can’t find ones I love that drizzle perfectly! I was very, very excited for a cloud from Rodem but also anxious as clouds are so rarely perfectly in line with the exact level of drizzle I’m looking for! I absolutely ADORE the aesthetic with the soft little rug that comes with it in the shape of Rodem’s bunny logo and the couch charm, how stinking CUTE! The slime even matches! I think this is the best charm/slime combo I have ever seen, a big standing ovation for Rodem on this incredibly whimsical and charmingly presented slime!
The scent was a relaxing and homely peachy perfume with notes of bubble bath and baby powder. The drizzle was good!! True cloud is a hard slime to make to spec and, in light of that, a lot of companies don’t really bother with it. I’m so happy Rodem did and did such a great job. It was very soft and plush with gorgeous blankety folds and I have everything crossed they make more of this texture soon. I have no idea what I’ll do with the delightful little rug other than treasure it forever! Haha!
Even just looking at these photos as I type out the review I'm smiling again! I wish this slime was my dressing gown! haha!

  • ONIGIRI (white glue foam chip, savoury black sesame.)
Another incredibly interesting and unique savoury scent. This was definitely giving sesame seed/oil, albeit a bit more subtle than the real thing. I would say your mileage may very on this scent, it won’t be for everyone but it is certainly worth trying for a whole new experience.
This was a medium thickness, glossy texture which was very chewy and clicky. The foam pieces were quite hard and angular but crushable if you really go for it. This was a very novel floam texture which made a great change from the usual balls. This was exploding with fantastic crackles and pops, top tier sounds. I think the angular foam is even better for trapping air as this slime sounded like a tiny elephant stampeding in a bubble wrap factory! I got some big air pocket type bubbles from this one too!
https://preview.redd.it/t6eh86yigi0d1.jpg?width=5986&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5954f9b63ef8b82f6b18c833abed2b45aa816ce0

  • FRENCH APPLE PIE (white glue/snow/fluffy, French apple pie scented)
The apple and the crust both come through in the scent, as well as a little hint of caramel (which is very typical of a French tarte tatin, well done Rodem!) The little doilies in the bottoms of the clay pots (even though the clay is wrapped) are yet another gorgeous little touch that impress me about these guys, I love their intimate attention to detail.
The clay was again super soft and pleasant to squish into the nice, clicky base. This was a lovely, chubby, stretchy slime. It was a little on the thicker side and created satisfying farty bubble pops.
C'est bon!

  • SAKURA SAND (sand slime, sakura flower scented)
This is an absolutely beautiful scent. A slightly cotton candy leaning sweet Sakura. I love pink, I love sand slimes and I love Sakura scents so this really pleased me! Unfortunately I found it very sticky and loose so added a lot of activator until it was more resistant and was able to get it where it needed to be. Once I did it had great bubble pops and was a very sand-dense and crunchy/sizzly sounding slime, the exact sort of sand slime I like.
https://preview.redd.it/z24t4ms5hi0d1.jpg?width=5704&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=38d0ba14bbeeec427f15096407d5c23c0c9f0f67

  • STRAWBERRY MATCHA SUGAR CAKE (snow fizz, strawberry matcha scented)
A nice scent with both strawberry and Matcha coming through. This was an extremely fluffy, airy snowfizz with tons of fantastic ASMR sounds, so fizzy, sizzly and fun to inflate and tingle-inducing to deflate. It started off feeling like a light, sugary super airy scrub and got denser as I played. Another great slime.
https://preview.redd.it/2yfdnspdhi0d1.jpg?width=5788&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2498da365a7c185a377dd2a8b7bbf12c9b80e52e
https://preview.redd.it/pt6a3kjbhi0d1.jpg?width=6051&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4e7081712ecf6916d69111bfd736883628f12a6b

  • TANGHULU BALL (big foam ball, strawberry-ade)
This had a very subtle strawberryade scent. The giant floam balls were a total novelty to me and SO much fun! Who doesn’t love the feeling of big balls in their hands!? 🙊 The base was quite loose and wonderful for plentiful crackles and pops. I really enjoyed this!
https://preview.redd.it/37msqhrnhi0d1.jpg?width=8440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=65fa12490f41bec1c7c30cea77764e8082b63382

  • STEAMED BUN (chewy mochi texture, sweet red bean BingSu)
This was an extremely savoury scent, there is some sweetness there but it was very much umami focused and I really enjoyed it! I was getting notes of red bean with a saltiness.
This is a moist, super clicky, jiggly slime with two large sponges in it that crush like jelly cubes. This is extremely bubbly and full of juicy wet crackles and high pitched big pops. You can create absolutely gargantuan air bubbles with this texture. If you, like me, don’t typically enjoy loose jiggly slimes, there is a damn good chance that you will enjoy this as I loved it! It was just so multifaceted with what it offered. First, you have the unusual scent which is pretty intriguing and different. Then you have the two giant cubes to crush which is always nice. Then you have the joy of the crackles, pops and loud clicks. Finally, you have the enormous bubbles! You just can’t not have fun with this!
That bubble (slubble?) was bigger than me!!

  • PLOP DUCKLING (Snow creme, lemon meringue scented)
This has a gorgeous and accurate sweet and creamy lemon meringue scent. It’s so much fun watching the little duck’s butt slowly dive into the slime when you pop him on there.
This was exactly the texture and scent I fancied finishing on and quite by chance it was! I couldn’t find Rodem’s description for this one’s texture until later so I had no idea what to expect as I had forgotten, what a joy!!! This combined into a really lovely, soft sage green. This is another light, soft, squishy, chewy and chubby inflating texture that ends up airy and puffy. I absolutely loved it! Unfortunately that is one more image than I am able to embed on Reddit so please click here to see it!
With Rodem, nothing is fully predictable and every texture brings with it a nice surprise. This is especially pleasing to experience when you place big orders. There is nothing more disappointing to me than buying a lot of slimes from a company just to discovered there is hardly any nuance between them and the experience is basically a rinse and repeat one, texturally identical and/or predictable. Rodem break the mold and throw in some very unusual elements and scents. Their themes are so well thought out and utterly charming and beautifully presented. They produce so many textures and master them, each one designed with so much love and attentiveness.
I really adore this company and feel they work hard to bring joy and excellence to the slime community. Recently one of the more commercial slime companies was caught using Rodem’s brand as a key word on their google ads to steer business away from them and onto their own website which I thought was in very poor taste. It is however testament to the fact that they knew Rodem was a company slime enthusiasts were talking about. And so we should be! It is my pleasure and honour to continue supporting this wonderful company. I'm so excited to see what they come up with next!
I loved pretty much every slime and the ones I didn’t were more so a personal taste thing than a quality control issue. There were a couple I found less handleable or with activation issues (Emmental and Sakura Sand) but that is pretty damn good going for an order this huge and the sand one was easily fixable. A well deserved 9.9/10

2024.05.15 01:47 wishuponausername Tracking dog farts

I've only been watching slash knowing about the existince of Kenji ('coz youtube via Babish) for about 4 or 5 years now. Holy Hell have I learned a tonne!
I just read the bit on soaked vs. non-soaked black beans on seriouseats.com and damn near lost it at "Turns out that tracking dog farts accurately without specialized equipment is actually quite difficult unless you're willing to get even more down and dirty than I am in the name of good ol' gonzo journalism."
I do think Hunter S. would be proud of Kenji. I also hope Kenji didn't go to Tolstoy to rid himself of the fart joke karma, 'coz in my experience you just end up in a waking coma.

2024.05.15 00:55 ConManTheKushman Got a question about growing beans.

I'm growing beans for the first time this year and I am growing them in a square foot style with 4 per square. My question is can I have two bean plants grow up the same pole or do I need to have 1 pole per plant? If I can get 2 beans on a pole could I get more than that, maybe all 4? Don't know if it matters but the cultivars I'm growing are dragon tongue(which is a bush bean so I don't think I need a pole), 1500 year old cave bean, Rattlesnake pole bean, Indian giant snake bean(I only did 1 per square of those), Kurzer's Calico traveler lima bean. Thanks in advance for any input and happy gardening

2024.05.15 00:34 Bot-357 How were your experiences with over-the-counter appetite suppressants?

I've been binge eating this past month and a half and gained a lot of weight. I'm trying to lose it right now and I've lost weight before so I know what to do but I'm having some serious trouble right now with hunger and I'm considering taking a combination of a Glucomannane and Garcinia Cambogia supplement because I've seen a study showing positive health outcomes about just that. I'm wondering if anyone else could share their experience using these?
For some background, I'm not a big guy by any means but I have an insane appetite. On a given day I can eat 5-6K calories of "clean" food without even trying. I exercise regularly and my TDEE is about 2700-2800 calories. I know a high protein intake is important because it digests slower and keeps you full but I can't bring myself to eat beans, chicken and beef all day.

The Bloodline is not done, as they continue to attack their 4 opponents. they put each of the Von Erichs on an announce table, and the G.o.D each climb a turnbuckle and deliver matching splashes through the tables. Jacob Fatu spears Trick Williams through the announce table. And in the ring Solo hits Wes Lee with a Samoan Spike.
As Solo is picking up Wes Lee to deliver another Samoan Spike, suddenly around the arena we hear something familiar "Sierra, Hotel, India, Echo, Lima, Delta" and the crowd goes nuts, the camera pans all around the arena until finally up in the crowd on a staircase we see Roman Reigns who has been gone since Wrestlemania, but then behind him step up the returning Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose, all 3 men dressed in their signature Shield gear as they make their way down the stairs. The 3 stars jump the barricade, as they do the camera zooms out to show the Bloodline has left the ring and is now standing up on the stage.
Backlash ends with The Bloodline on the stage staring down at The Shield now standing in the ring, and the crowd chanting 'Holy Shit'

2024.05.14 22:34 ChiaDaisy Talk to me about the baby to toddler transition

My baby is turning 12 months next month and although she’s small, she is already walking all over the house, has a couple of words, 8 teeth, eating tons of food and hard to keep still and occupied. I feel totally unprepared and like somehow I woke up with this walking running kid in my house. I feel so under prepared.
How the heck do I feed her snacks on the go? Do I always have to bring my big bill Graco stroller if I want her to have a tray for snacks? It’s so squeaky and bulky now.
Diaper changes. When do I switch to standing changes? Anyone have experience with elimination communication? Should I switch to cloth at this point?
Food. I feel like I’m just constantly giving her beans and cheese and fruit. I’m vegetarian so I don’t prep meat, can I give her vegetarian meat? What are other good low prep meals? I do not have the time or energy to make broccoli tots from scratch.
Where do I find good toys? I feel like my target only has baby teethers and then like light up and sound making electronic toys and we’ve already got plenty of those. So tired of being disappointed by Amazon buys.

2024.05.14 21:58 W00LYS Custom feat balance

If the names "Pip & Beans" mean anything to you, please stop reading.
Hello, I've made custom feats for each of my players and id like some guidance on balancing.
Bard -
2 new uses of bardic inspiration;
Diving Keel; while flying, move more than 25 feet in a straight line and attack. On a hit, add the number rolled on your bardic inspiration to the damage. If attacking a huge or smaller creature, the creature must make a strength save against your spell save DC. On a failed save they are pushed 10ft in the direction the PC is travelling.
Offensive blockade; if a creature that has been given inspiration and uses the inspiration to add to a melee attack, on a hit the enemy creature's movement speed is reduced by 10ft until the start of the player's next turn. This reduction is increased to 15ft if the PC is within 20ft of the creature. // Wizard -
"Wins" about engagement with information allows the Player to access "Intellectual Aegis", this condition grants the following benefits;
Advantage on intelligence saves and checks. Gain temporary hit points equal to intelligence modifier. Gain cold resistance.
This lasts 4 hours or until the PC experiences an "L".
*I recognise this is very subjective and so balancing for those not in the game might be difficult - for context this player as part of their character notes down wins and losses day to day. An example of a win is "knowing things others don't and explaining these things to them", and example of a loss is "someone correcting my information". // Rogue -
Gain advantage on initiative checks.
Can use a bonus action to access "Blitz", this condition grants the following benefits;
15ft movement. Advantage on dexterity saves and checks. +1 AC. This Lasts 5 rounds (30 seconds)
Can activate this a number of times equal to the PC's constitution modifier. // Paladin -
You can spend 10 minutes exercising with your companions, shoring up their physical prowess. When you do so, choose up to six friendly creatures (can include yourself) within 40ft of you who are participating in exercise with you. Each creature can gain advantage on their next Constitution save and Strength save/check. A creature can't benefit from this feat again until it has finished a short or long rest.
Player with this advantage must declare it after the roll but before they know the result. // Druid -
At the start of everyday, the PC can choose to speak to animals, this has the effect of the "Speak with animals" spell but lasts the entire day. Once the PC can access 3rd level spells, he can choose between speaking to animals or plants for the day. Speaking to plants operates the same as the "Speak with plants" spell but lasts the entire day.
Possibly helpful extra information;
Party composition is - Aaracockra Bard, Merfolk Wizard, Changeling Rogue, Firbolg Paladin and Warforged Druid. All are level 4.
Some of these are obvious riffs on spells/magic items. Sorry for any poor spelling/formatting!

2024.05.14 21:31 tnvrhlst Semi feral scaredy cat only want pets when other cat is around.

My boyfriend and I adopted a semi feral 10month old cat a week ago (we named her Bean). She was picked up from the streets at 3months old and has been in the shelter ever since. She wasn't getting adopted because she's not very socialised. With that I mean she's curious about humans but very scared of them. (Preferred staying hidden at the shelter, was hissing and spitting at people...) Now that she's home with us she comes out to eat and play and can be relaxing in the same room but you can't pet her whatsoever and she might hiss when she gets scared.
We adopted her to become friends with our 5year old cat Luna and started slooowly introducing them to each other by letting them have a peak at each other through a crack in the door. When Bean noticed Luna through the crack she was fully ready to meet her, was rolling on her back meowing and also started purring and letting us pet her? Normally we can only let her sniff our hands and she would back off immediately afterwards and now she was fully asking for pets?
From the moment we close the door and Luna is not there anymore bean goes back to being scared of hands and you can't touch her anymore, she goes back to insecure little hand sniffs.
Has anyone got any experience on this? It's just such a weird behavioral thingy but also very cute haha.

2024.05.14 21:05 EJC28 Bills 2024 Draft Analysis Compilation

Round 2, Pick 33 - Keon Coleman, WR, Florida State:
NFL: After trading back twice on Thursday, the Bills stick at 33 and take a big, physical and athletically gifted target. Coleman isn't fast and isn't a deep threat, but he can win in a variety of ways. But who will Josh Allen's deep threat be? Stay tuned.
CBS Sports: C-. “X” receiver for a WR-needy team. Plays faster than his combine speed but doesn’t separate consistently and isn’t as good of a contested-catch wideout as his size and highlight-reel would indicate. Young though.
ESPN: After trading back twice, the Bills addressed the team's most significant position of need with Coleman, a big outside receiver with the ability to make splash plays -- 12 receiving touchdowns on contested catches since the start of 2022, second-most in the FBS, however, only a 31.7% contested catch percentage in 2023 -- to create separation and a release that general manager Brandon Beane described as "about as good as any." Beane acknowledged that while he's "probably not" going to run away from defenders, Buffalo feels his play speed is faster than the speed he showed at the combine -- 4.61 40-yard dash -- also noting that they liked his athletic ability that came from playing basketball. The Bills needed starting-level talent at outside receiver and Coleman, who turns 21 in May, fits into what Buffalo was looking for, while the team was still able to move back and add picks.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Believes that knitting is the original “Netflix and chill”.
Round 2, Pick 60 - Cole Bishop, S, Utah:
NFL: Safety was a big need for the Bills, and they go back to the Utes for help after taking Dalton Kincaid in Round 1 a year ago. Bishop is a very good athlete and field general who can play the post safety spot and cover a lot of ground. He played like the QB of the Utes' defense the past two years and could be a rookie starter for Buffalo.
CBS Sports: A-. Large, intimidating safety with magnificent movement skill. The QB of the defense. Aligns everywhere. Can wear many hats. Excelled as slot defender and vs. TEs in coverage and runs the alley on outside runs as well as any safety in the class. Ball skills and tackling must improve. Short arms. Need filled.
ESPN: Another pick for the Bills in the second round, another big need addressed. Drafting Bishop adds someone who can compete for a starting role this season, in addition to being a potential answer in the secondary after moving on from Jordan Poyer this offseason while Micah Hyde continues to contemplate retirement. Bishop has the ability to move all over the field, along with speed -- 4.45 40-yard dash -- and many of the qualities and instincts the Bills look for at the position.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: He always weebles and wobbles, but he won’t ever fall down.
Round 3, Pick 95 - DeWayne Carter, DT, Duke:
NFL: When I first watched Carter at the Senior Bowl, I wrote in my notes: "rolling ball of knives." Carter's game doesn't have a lot of pretty to it, but he's a scheme disruptor with his low center of gravity, ferocious style and nasty demeanor.
CBS Sports: B+. Active, high-energy interior rusher who’s on the ground a bit more than what’s desired because of his frenetic style. But it also gets him to the football more often than most DTs. Flashes of swim move and spin just needs to utilize them more. Length is a plus and he works hard vs. run. Some power too. Fills niche need on Buffalo’s defensive front. Needs to use his length better on passing downs.
ESPN: Using the pick acquired via the trade with the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday, the Bills addressed another hole with Carter bringing depth at defensive tackle. The three-technique tackle will have the opportunity to continue to develop -- potentially as Ed Oliver's backup -- adding to a defensive tackle room that has limited young talent. The Bills didn't draft a defensive tackle last year due to the way the board fell, but the team was able to add to the rotation early this year.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Still says ‘weeeeeeeeeee’ when on a playground swing.
Round 4, Pick 128 - Ray Davis, RB, Kentucky:
NFL: Davis has overcome a lot to reach this level, and though he lacks long speed, he can be a Zack Moss-like player for the Bills. Davis' vision and wicked spin move have left a few defenders in a blender.
CBS Sports: C. Compact, older RB with plus stop-start ability, married to his feet well. Can deploy multiple cuts in a run to make defenders miss. Good, not amazing overall elusiveness though. Quicker than fast too. Will work hard to fight through contact. Has the skills to be fine complementary RB in NFL.
ESPN: With Davis, the Bills add a needed bigger back -- 5-foot-8, 211-pounds -- to pair with James Cook, but also someone who has the ability to catch the football (seven touchdown catches in 2023, tied with Najee Harris for the most by any SEC running back in a season in the last 25 years). Buffalo had a variety of veterans complimenting Cook last season, but Davis, 24, will give Buffalo a power runner and another younger presence in the room, albeit with plenty of collegiate experience from two seasons at Temple, two at Vanderbilt and one at Kentucky.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: This divorce is taking forever Erica why are you doing this?
Round 5, Pick 141 - Sedrick Van Pran-Granger, C, Georgia:
NFL: He's a tough, durable competitor with good anchor strength and three years starting experience for an SEC power, although SVP's lack of athleticism and smaller frame might make him a center-only projection.
CBS Sports: A-. Multi-year starter in the SEC with wrestler’s mentality. Battles through the whistle every snap. Mobility stands out. Explosive short-area quicks. Doesn’t have supreme length and clearly has to add weight/strength to his game. Methodically carries out run-game duties with ease. Second-level climbs etc. Older prospect but comes with high floor.
ESPN: This offseason, the Bills moved on from the team's starting center, Mitch Morse, and backup Ryan Bates. Last year's left guard Connor McGovern is set to slide over to the starting role. Adding Van Pran-Granger brings depth at center -- he allowed one sack his entire career in 1,337 pass-blocking plays, according to Sports Info Solutions -- and a strong candidate for the future at the position with significant starting experience (he started the last three seasons at center for Georgia).
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Is constantly telling people how different things are on Linux.
Round 5, Pick 160 - Edefuan Ulofoshio, LB, Washington:
NFL: In recent years, Buffalo has taken some interesting shots on linebackers in Rounds 3-7, and Ulofoshio continues that trend. He was one of the final players in my top 100 prospect list with his excellent speed, intense style and special teams experience, even if injuries have clouded his projection.
CBS Sports: A-. Six-year LB who starred for a long time as a full-time player in Washington’s program. Big-time tester and it shows on the field. Just takes a second to diagnose. Keen block-avoider as he’s sifting through traffic. Smooth athlete all around but doesn’t quite play to his workout. Reliable tackler who also flashed coverage skill down the seam. High-floor pick here. Crowded LB room.
ESPN: The Bills lost major special teams contributors this offseason, including linebacker Tyrel Dodson and defensive back Siran Neal, while captain linebacker Tyler Matakevich remains a free agent. Ulofoshio adds depth to the linebacker room, but perhaps more importantly, he can find a role on this roster as someone who can make an impact on special teams, an area of priority for the Bills. He has experience from playing six years at Washington, and while he dealt with multiple significant injuries in 2021 and 2022, he played every game in 2023 and earned Washington's Guy Flaherty Most Inspirational Award, the program's oldest and most prestigious honor.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: DROP TABLE card_facts; [please crash your pc, reader].
Round 5, Pick 168 - Javon Solomon, DE, Troy:
NFL: Solomon was a highly productive rusher the past few years in an unusual frame. He's short and undersized at 6-foot-1 and 247 pounds but with nearly 34-inch arms and huge hands. That extra length helps Solomon get to the quarterback, along with his quick burst and non-stop motor. An interesting study for sure.
CBS Sports: A. Burst, bend, speed predicated outside EDGE. Small frame but serious length. Unique build. Doesn’t get engulfed by bigger blockers as much as expected because of his speed-to-power conversion. Hand work is good, not amazing and can flatten to the QB. Motor hums on every play. Bills needed this type of quick winner on the outside.
ESPN: Solomon provides depth at edge rusher, another position of need for Buffalo. He led the FBS with 16 sacks last season and totaled 31.5 sacks since the start of 2021 (also most in the FBS), in addition to 49 career tackles for loss (third in Sun Belt history). Being a Day 3 selection, finding a special teams role will be important for Solomon. He'll also have the opportunity to develop behind the likes of Greg Rousseau, Von Miller -- someone that Solomon has modeled his game after -- and AJ Epenesa.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: He once painted the walls of a Buccees stall, hasn’t been back since.
Round 6, Pick 204 - Tylan Grable, OT, UCF:
NFL: He's a converted Jacksonville State tight end who became a solid left tackle the past two years at UCF. Grable is a quality athlete with great length and potential to be groomed at center, even if he's still learning how to play O-line.
CBS Sports: B. Height and length type at OT who probably plays guard at the next level. Smooth athleticism and can sustain speed throughout the play. Not just quick. Hands are more active and heavy than they are accurate. Good depth add here with positional versatility. Can grow into his frame.
ESPN: Grable started his collegiate career as a walk-on tight end at Jacksonville State, but transitioned to offensive line starting in 2019 and then started 27 games at left tackle while at UCF. He will compete for a roster spot in an offensive line room with veteran players, and said he's prepared to make a switch to a different position if needed. General manager Brandon Beane said that Grable is "gonna have to continue to work on his lower body strength, his power to move guys in the run game, but has great feet you know for pass pro."
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Still refers to Google DUO as Google MEET.
Round 6, Pick 219 - Daequan Hardy, CB, Penn State:
NFL: His return skills might be what keeps him in the league, as Hardy lacks the mass and strength to hold up full time on defense, but sub-4.4 speed is always appealing in a DB.
CBS Sports: A-. Case for most sudden, twitch-up athlete at CB in the class. Super speedy too. Plus recovery talent. Explosiveness in every movement. Not always sticky in coverage but does have high-caliber reps. Check Ohio State game. Erratic tackling and hard to get off blockers because of his size. Chippy in trying to make plays on screens.
ESPN: Hardy brings depth at the cornerback position and skills as a returner. In 2023, he tied the Penn State record for most punt return touchdowns in a season (two) and finished seventh in punt return average (14.6) in school history. Beane noted that if not for the new return rules, he's not sure if they would have picked Hardy, but "this guy can play one of the backup corner spots, but also he's a really nice returner." Buffalo lost multiple players at the returner spot in free agency, and with more focus on it going into this season, Hardy will have the opportunity to compete for the role.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Owns the complete N64 collection including a CIB Conkers.
Round 7, Pick 221 - Travis Clayton, OT, England:
NFL: The Brit, who is 6-foot-7 and 301 pounds with 35-inch arms, ran a 4.81-second 40-yard dash at South Florida's pro day and immediately put himself on scouts' radars late in the process. He's a total project but might be a terrific find with some seasoning, thanks to those unusual athletic traits.
CBS Sports: C+. At 6-foot-7 and 300 pounds with 35-inch arms and a sub 5.00 40-yard dash, this is a ridiculous athlete who is new to football from London.
ESPN: Despite the Bills never seeing Clayton play football, he's an intriguing addition to develop. The initial projection is as an offensive tackle for the 6-foot-7, 303-pound boxer and former rugby player from England after offensive line coach Aaron Kromer came away from watching tape of his workouts. Notably, he ran a 4.79 40-yard dash, faster than all offensive linemen who competed at the combine in the last 10 years. He'll have an opportunity to show the Bills exactly how his skills will translate and what he may be capable of in the NFL, especially as he does not count for a roster spot as part of the International Player Pathway program.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Just like a fantasy draft, the true sleepers can be found in round seven.

2024.05.14 18:57 LolwutMickeh Ode Gen 2 arriving tomorrow - first steps?

So I'm relatively new to the whole coffee thing, and have been using a Wilfa Svart to grind my coffee with ever since I started.
It's obviously not the best, however I have gotten familiar with how it works, and knew which settings I had to use to get the best grind sizes for the coffee's I liked.
Now I had decided to upgrade to an Ode Gen 2, clearly I am going to have to start over for the most part as this is a completely different grinder. I am looking forward to experimenting with it.
However, to help me along get to the point of enjoying my coffee and not just endlessly experimenting, my question is, since the complexity has gone up with a grinder such as the Ode 2; are there any steps I need to take after I take it out of the box? Any calibrating I need to be doing, etc? Or do I just unbox, plug it in and start seasoning the grinder with beans? At what point is the grinder 'ready'?
For people that are familiar with the grinder or have one at home, how is the experience for the first couple of cups? The weeks after? Did the steps at which you ground the coffee change meaningfully after the first few weeks, with the same coffee's? Any tips that you've found while using it are also extremely welcome!

2024.05.14 18:38 TheLeeVR GT7 + VR + Steering wheel = gaming euphoria.

I've been playing GT7 on and off since release. I'm not a car guy but I do still do like them and enjoy racing games in general. I've always found GT7 immersive, even with just the Dual Sense controller.
Last year I bought a G29 at full price, which for me was around ÂŁ349.99, something ridiculous anyway, because I just had to try out a steering wheel.
I made two mistakes that day, one I paid full price when I already had spent my indulgence budget allowance (see: PSVR2) and the second one was clamping the wheel to a shitty desk and sitting on a shitty office chair.
I felt kinda guilty spending that much and as I tested the wheel, whilst I found it high quality, I had the guilt at the back of my mind, along with the clutter it created in the living room. Sitting at an office desk/chair also really threw off the immersion, I wasn't sat right and my wheel didn't line up at all with the in game wheel. I felt motion sickness as soon as I overshot a corner or bumped another car. I've got solid VR legs but I was dizzy for a while after that.
As quickly as I inpulsed bought the wheel, I returned it back to the store, as I was scared of damage via a pet or a child, what with all the cables.
Anyway, skip to this weekend. I find myself browsing through Facebook marketplace (ugh, I feel dirty) and I see the G29 along with a stand for £99 and it looks in good nick 😀 I buy it, get it home, set it up. Kick the office chair away and find my son's giant bean bag and it's perfect, it acts a bit like a bucket car seat but comfortable, it molds to my happy ass. I boot up GT7, everything looks in place. The steering wheel feels strong and responsive and then I fall in love...
I've played my fair share of VR. I love horror games, puzzle games, escape room games. I've had amazing experiences with them all. But something about GT7 is magical. I definitely feel like the wheel helps (obviously) and if more games could incorporate their own peripherals - I don't know, a shotgun controller for Resident Evil? A skateboard for the skateboard game... a kayak for the um, kayak game? You get the idea. Back to my point. There's something special about racing around NĂŒrburgring at 300 miles an hour in the comfort of your own living room. I get giddy thinking about how I can have a track day, on any track, in any car whenever I want. I'm not a car guy but I am a video gamer guy and driving around, having fun is just something else.
I am in love.
I don't have anything new to say here. I just want to share and spread my enthusiasm about how amazing I am finding this.
Now if only I could get a seating rig with full haptic/tilting/rumbling feedback...

2024.05.14 17:40 promisedground Coffees to Avoid: A Guide to Making Better Choices

Coffee is a beloved beverage enjoyed by millions around the world, but not all coffee is created equal. Some coffees to avoid and some brands can negatively impact your health, taste buds, and even your wallet. In this guide, we'll explore the types of coffee you should avoid and why making informed choices can enhance your coffee experience.

1. Instant Coffee

Instant coffee might be convenient, but it often falls short in flavor and quality. Many instant coffees are made from lower-grade beans and can have a bitter, burnt taste. Additionally, they often contain additives and preservatives that can detract from the natural richness of coffee.

2. Pre-Ground Coffee

While pre-ground coffee is convenient, it can quickly lose its freshness and flavor. Coffee begins to oxidize and lose its aromatic oils as soon as it’s ground, leading to a stale taste. For the best flavor, always opt for whole beans and grind them just before brewing.

3. Flavored Coffees

Flavored coffees might seem appealing, but they often contain artificial flavors and sweeteners that can mask the true taste of the coffee. These additives can also lead to unnecessary calorie intake and potential health risks. If you enjoy flavored coffee, consider adding natural spices like cinnamon or vanilla extract instead.

4. Cheap, Bulk Coffee

Buying coffee in bulk can be tempting due to its lower price, but these products are often made from low-quality beans that lack depth and complexity. Bulk coffee is also more likely to be stale by the time you get to the bottom of the bag, diminishing your coffee experience.

5. Pods and Capsules

Coffee pods and capsules are convenient, but they often come with environmental and quality drawbacks. The packaging creates a significant amount of waste, and the coffee inside is typically of lower quality compared to freshly ground beans. Moreover, the convenience factor often comes with a higher price tag per cup.

6. Unethically Sourced Coffee

Not all coffee is produced with fair labor practices or sustainable methods. Avoid brands that do not support fair trade or environmentally friendly practices. Instead, look for certifications like Fair Trade, Rainforest Alliance, or Organic, which ensure that the coffee is produced ethically and sustainably.

7. Old or Stale Coffee

Coffee has a shelf life, and consuming old or stale coffee can result in a flat, lifeless cup. Always check the roast date on the packaging and try to consume your coffee within a few weeks of roasting for the best flavor.

Conclusion

By avoiding these types of coffee, you can ensure a more enjoyable and responsible coffee experience. Invest in high-quality, fresh, and ethically sourced beans, and you'll taste the difference in every cup. Happy brewing!

2024.05.14 17:24 Grand_Collection3152 Brokeback Mountain is a problematic movie.

Brokeback Mountain perpetuates harmful stereotypes about gay relationships by depicting them as inherently tragic and doomed to fail. The movie feeds into the "Bury Your Gays" trope, where gay characters are often killed off for dramatic effect.
It even misses the mark with its portrayal of gay intimacy, which comes off as unrealistic, cold, and even funny at times (seriously, sex after beans?). The protagonist's lack of courage to stand up for himself or his supposed "love" only adds to the film's problematic depiction of gay relationships as doomed and lacking agency.
As someone who grew up closeted, queer cinema was my window to breathe, and had I seen this movie back when I was young, I’m sure it would have taken some years more for me to be out. Movies shape perspectives, and I’d never recommend this movie to any young queers still in the process of self-acceptance.
There's so much more to queer experiences than tragedy and passivity. What do you think?

2024.05.14 17:15 timmeh129 What influences taste the most — country, terroir, variety or process?

So recently I've been trying more and more different beans and I think I'm starting to notice certain descriptors common for a certain origin country/process beans. For example, I recently got two Washed Kenyas from different roasters and they tasted almost identical (different varieties and regions though). I love anaerobic ethiopias so most of the time I get them from any roaster they taste pretty much the same. Also I just got an anaerobic columbia and it tastes exactly like a coffee I used to drink in a totally different country few years ago. I use a pretty standard method — just Hario Switch, K-Max and the same good water all the time.
What's your experience like? Do you notice the small changes in terroir in the same country and process? And is it worth it to taste different beans of the same origin and process by same or different roasters?

2024.05.14 17:13 Hopeful_Friend_374 dear bean - a informal email from me (that you will never see)

dear bean
yknow i know you definitely will not care about this and you will probably tell your friends and say how desperate or annoying or needy or shitty I am, and its fine - say what you want. because honestly I couldn't care less about how you think about me but I just want to be heard from your end one final time. and yea I did say that a couple times, I've tried reaching out a couple times, I've tried being a mature person even though I was actually breaking inside. so yea, I'm sorry I lied, sorry I said it would be my last time contacting you but breaking that promise every time, but this time it really will be the last time.
honestly, I think we had a good run for the what, 4 months we were friends? i have nothing bad to say about you, and even though it was hell after whatever you would call that, I still don't dislike you or hate you or feel negative feelings towards you, cause at the end of the day, we're all humans living life and we can decide when someone isn't worth being in our life anymore (that might sound passive aggressive, it wasn't supposed to sound like that, just read it like I understand the feeling). if you're annoyed by this email - don't keep reading, I'll just go on and on and I guess this email (that I will never send) is just a way for me to reflect and understand my feelings while also giving you, the bean that I knew, a chance to come out one last time before shutting me down once and for all. yea so if you're gonna go beserk from this email, dob me out to all your friends, then I suggest you leave before I pour my heart and soul out.
you were actually really cool in my eyes, talented and smart, it was hard not to admire the determination you had and the willingness to do things. and I hate admitting it, and I know my friends hate hearing me talk about it, but I miss you and your presence. yes, sue me, no I'm not in love with you, yes you made that big of and impact on me. i was scared of you when you first joined honk, you had very sharp and cool eyes. and again - you were talented which intimidated me. but overtime, I understood that you weren't scary, you were actually so sweet and funny and really silly. i liked how you pushed yourself to try harder and new things, like clarinet 1 in honk. i don't even know how we started chatting, I think you were looking for some sheet music or something. honestly it was nice talking to you, even from the beginning. it was fresh talking to someone new, I didn't have high expectations of where this friendship would go but I was happy enough to enjoy the moment while it lasted.
and well, that moment lasted a while. we talked for a week and I could already tell that my crappy feelings would complicate things - I just never met someone so like me before. even though I didn't have strong feelings, I knew they were there, but I still chose to talk to you. how foolish right? i mean we had the same interests, music (clarinet!!), txt, twisted tales, it was a coincidence meeting someone who was like a mini me. and of course, when we started talking about crushes, I felt adrenaline and just kept going until I just puked my feelings over you. I'm not sure how you felt then when I admitted I liked you, but if it was hard for you or if it made you uncomfortable, I'm sorry. putting you in that position must have been hard so i'msorry. you said you weren't ready for anything serious, but I was just excited, too happy to find someone finally, that it didn;t occur to me how fast i might be going.
we had our issues, but i thought that we loved each other. i loved you so i thought that even though i had issues, talking it out with you was always the best way to work things out. communication is key, that's what i told myself. i guess it wasn't key, unless it's the key to making friendships break apart. i guess i just tricked myself into thinking you loved me just as much as i loved you, so i thought you had the same idea of communication as i did. and honestly i think a part of me was right, because you did try. but it was my fault, i kept bringing in other little small things that affected me and you had to put me back together. and i guess that must've been annoying cause at some point you just stopped trying. I'm not saying that that's an issue or that it was your problem, I'm under the impression it was all my doing.
looking past that, i seriously loved you so much. i neglected a lot for you - again not blaming you, i did it because i really really loved you so much and i wanted the best for you in every circumstance (even if it didn't seem like it). i left my friends a lot, my mum noticed i was getting more distant and well, after things ended i got into touch with my loved ones again, so I'm in a way grateful for you for doing that.
love is hard to describe. but i knew i had love for you. i said i loved my other crushes. but they were absolutely nothing compared to what i had for you. i had love for you that was comparable to my best friend (don't tell her that). mayve you can tell but words could not describe how or what i felt after things ended. not sure what your breaking point was, but it must have been a big point. i have 3 main points regarding this end of whatever we had:
  1. what is it we even had? you said we were just friends - i accept that - but i feel like it was definitely not what i saw. and yes, maybe this is subjective BUT i don't think friends hold hands (well they do but they're not afraid to), they don't celebrate "months of friendship" (recalling every month we were "together" we would celebrate) and friends don't kiss each other's foreheads like that (and if they didn't like it, they'd stop each other). honestly, I'm cringing recalling the fucking embarrassing things i did but it needs to be addressed. i have to ask you - and there's no shame in being truthful because i don't care anymore - what did you see us as? was i a one time fling? was i seriously just your friend? did you have feelings for me then realise i was too high maintenance to handle and dropped me? or maybe there was another factor. that brings me to my next point.
  2. was there another person who you realised was better? again, while an average person might see this as morally incorrect - i do not care - you're human and you can feel whatever you want for whoever you want. But i’m genuinely asking, did you? Was it the guy you liked in year 6? The one who bullied you? Call me a detective but, i remember seqc calling one night after things ended, i was back from vietnam and had slightly accepted the idea of the situation. you pulled out some messages from a boy on discord, it was of him admitting he liked you back in year 6. i looked at the date, it was the 6th of january 2023, 9 days before you had the courage to break it off with me. Did he maybe have a part in this? Did you maybe feel things weren’t working out with me and realised you had a chance with someone else so you took it? AGAIN NO SHAME - you do whatever you want to do in life, i’m not shaming you or judging you I just genuinely want to know. I also saw you posting about a boy on your story - not sure if its the same boy but if it was, i hope it went well for you. Sorry these were all the conspiracy theories i made up to cope - crazy right? Imagine what a person can do to you.
  3. why did we stop being friends? Even though things didn;t work out romantically (or what i thought was romantic, you thought of as friendship), i don’t know what happened to us. You told me you wanted to be friends. I also wanted to be friends. The only reason that kept me alright was the idea that even though you don’t think of me more, i could still keep you as a friend - someone i could share my passions with and geek out over txt music with. Thats why i tried to stay friends with you. I really and truly did try to make ‘friends’ work with you. But the more i tried - the more annoyed you got. Or i think you were getting annoyed. I wouldn’t know because you didn’t tell me how you felt afterwards. I tried to make it work because you said we could be friends but you gave up on me. I think that’s what hurt me the most - breaking your word. I keep saying it, but you’re entitled to do whatever you want, but it left an emotional scar on me. I don’t want to admit it, but on the days you started at (bean's new school name), i woke up early just to talk to you, to keep you company on the bus on your first few days. Yea cringey i know, bare with me please. I thought I owed you that, i thought that being friends with you after you ended ‘things’, i had to earn my right so i tried, i really tried to be my best for you, so you felt that maybe it was worth keeping me around. And maybe, maybe i was still in love with you then. But i think you saw talking to me for three days straight at 7am was annoying and you were probably uncomfortable because it was me. I feel like you saw me as a creep - almost like a pedo. But i tried and you gave up on me, and there was a time a couple months later where we were perfectly fine, but then things just went again.
you might think I just had silly little feelings for you. but I didn't. i really had feelings for you. and I don't know if you genuinely didn't see me that way, or you didn't have feelings for me, if you just thought it was a silly little thing we had going on or if you're hiding the fact you did like me at some point. I just know that losing you as a friend really crushed me to pieces. and yes you told people you never want to talk to me or talk about me - which is fine you're entitled to your own rights - but I just wanted to get this off my chest. one last time - I promise.
I don’t know if this will get to you. It probably won’t, theres a bit too much that i wrote in here. Do you care about this still? Definitely not (I’m assuming). It’s embarrassing how much I think about this and how much i regret not letting my feelings out before you removed me as a friend on instagram and discord (or even blocking me on spotify, not sure how spotify was a way for me to get to you but whatever works i guess). This issue has been taking up my mind for the last few years, and it really does suck. But I’m gonna let it out, so im sorry if you got up to here.
Not sure how much this means to you, but you can contact me anytime if you want to let out your feelings (of life, not about this or me), i want to support you as much as i can. I can also help you with coping with school - again i don’t think you’d take me up on that but it’s always an option if you need it. I won’t make it weird, i wont bring this up again, i’ll talk to you like you’re one of my friends.
I haven’t heard much about your feelings in this - feelings of anger, regret, sadness. If you do want to share (you most definitely don’t have to), email me, text me, contact me and we can talk about how you felt too. This email was for me to finally write down what i wanted to let out and finally let go of what happened (even if you think it was miniscule, it wasn’t for me).
Life is hard, and I learnt that through you and the experience of you. So thank you for teaching me this. Thank you for showing me what love felt like, and thank you for being my first love. You made it very hard for other people because i only compared them to what I had with you. But in saying that - I made life long friends who helped me cope. And I hope you found some life long friends as well.
I hope you have a good life (in saying that, i am assuming we will never meet each other ever again - but if we do meet again disregard this).
Thanks for everything (and nothing as well) (while that sounds bitter, its more like a thank you for what you taught me - life lessons and all - but also thanks for the pain i had to feel afterwards, while that pain was not enjoyable, it was what taught me).
kind regards,
toad
to readers: i censored the names for privacy, but i called her bean (as a nickname - it really suited her), and i was known as her 'toad', hence the names.

Candida/leaky gut functional doctors protocol
Hey guys I've been a long time lurker on this page. I tried using people's suggestions to help myself for a long time and my candida just kept coming back (had it about 2 years). I finally went to a functional doctor and they did a blood test which showed Candida and white mold causing inflammation in my body. This is how my functional doctor is treating me. I am not a doctor and this is not medical advice I just wanted to share my experience
My main symptoms: anxiety, brain fog, bloating and easily upset stomach, white/patchy sometime sore tongue, frequent yeast infections, fatigue, always hungry, trouble sleeping and waking up starving in the middle of the night.
Supplements:
GI Detox binder from Bio-Botanicals: Take one cap morning. If it makes you feel worse, then half the cap and start at that dose for 5 days. Then try to move back up to one whole cap.
If you feel improved or the same, then immediately go to 1 cap morning and 1 cap night. This one needs to be taken 2 hours before or after meds/supplements/foods.
Nasal Spray: Get one good spray up each nostril twice a day.
Biocidin: Move up to 10 drops 3x per day as fast as possible. If you feel a little queasy, then move down until you feel normal. Try to build back up after 5 days at that dose.
S. Boulardii: 1 cap morning and 1 cap night, with food. ViraCid: 1 cap morning and 1 cap night DHist: 1 cap morning and 1 cap night Orthospore: 2 caps with dinner. Take away from biocidin. SBI Protect: 1 scoop morning and 1 scoop night. Can be put into really anything.
Diet: no flours of any kind, no quinoa or buckwheat, no grains, No tropical fruit except coconut, mushrooms especially shiitake are okay, nuts and beans are okay in moderation, coffee is okay, sweet potatoes are okay in moderation, yogurt is okay, cheese is okay, no milk.
He says this protocol will be about 3 months. If you're using the "Now" brand of S. Boulardii throw it in the trash it's not helping you. The magnesium is for constipation. The nasal spray is specific for the white mold. And the SBI protect is for leaky gut. He said if you want to be perfect take the biociden away from the s boulardii but he hasn't seen issues with people taking it at the same time because it's such a strong probiotic.
