I have been looking into Esquif canoes a lot, and am really leaning towards the Heron. It has 3 seats in the design, which would allow me to "comfortably" take at least 2 of my kids out with me at the same time. I have thought about the Mallard as well.

What worries me is the square backing. I definitely can't afford a motor right away, and I don't really want one. I've read and seen on videos that a square back is far from ideal for a paddler. I've thought about the Scout, but it seems a little small for us.

I’m a 20 year old male. Condition is located on upper inner thigh, specifically the left one. No signs of this condition on my right thigh, let alone anywhere else on my body. Following up on some major seevice work at 171k miles on 2014 Wrangler 3.6 / auto and need some advice please:
Changed plugs, coils, injectors, oil cooler (dorman aluminum version) timing set (Melling) and cam phasers with new control valves (Standard Motor Products).
I don’t do this for a living but am definitely on the serious side of amateur / hobbiest. I’ve probably rebuilt to spec several dozen engines ranging from 1970’s Jaguars through FJ40’s lots of GM products in 4,6,8 cylinders, light truck and commercial diesels and powerstroke Diesels. I’ve never had a failure to start, run, or last. I have and followed factory service manual for the JK Jeep. I should have been able to do this!
Startup was rough but after a few attempts at cranking she bled the injectors and fired right up. Idles smoothly. Oil pressure 91-95 PSI cold and 25-30 hot at idle. Battery and alternator voltage good (don’t recall exact value). Within a 1/4 mile I was in limp mode with traction control and check wngine lights on. All of the codes are P000a-d. “Camshaft Slow Response”. Engine runs smooth through 5000+ rpm, but shifts are limited to 4th gear. So I drive to work 18 miles each way. Next day the lights go off and everything is golden. After 3-4 restarts, limp mode is back and wont go away!
Factory service manual says oil change, then replace pcm. Nope, not at those $$. I want to know what is wrong! So I do a bit of parts cannon…. New cam position sensors, although the fault seems to be on all 4 randomly. JSCAN only says “at least one fault has been counted in this position recently”. New crank position sensor. New cam VVT Solenoids. No Changes.
Then I start tracing grounds from the solenoids and get some intermittent high resistance. Ive had weird groundingg problems before, and I realized that my battery cable terminal negative side isnt clamping well. I can lift it off the post. The harness is generally crunchy and shitty from 10 years in desert heat, so I decided to re-do them.
Pulled the entire wiring harness off the engine and yanked the battery cables out. Replaced them with 2awg and bolt-down terminals. Continuity checked every ground terminal pin to pin. No fails. Same on the power side.
Fun side note, the 2014 Factory Wiring diagram has a major typo in showing incorrect ground terminal locations!
So, put that all back, pulled valve covers again, checked timing marks against youtube. It all seems right. I did not pull the timing cover again. I did clean the bits of metal powder off the camshaft tone rings with paper towel and brake clean. Restart engine. Starts instantly. Cam rattle for about 1 second, perfectly smooth idle. Same codes within 45 seconds.
So, i need a scan tool. Factory service manual says to check desired versus actual cam and crank positions. My old scan tool was PC based AutoEnginuity, but I hate the PC aspect and the subscription lapsed about 8 years ago. So im looking at Autel, but overwhelmed by all the options with very little info.
Can anyone tell me what level of Autel can show that live position versus desired position? Should I look elsewhere?
Mechanically, can you tell me if it is possible to overtorque an oil control valve? I keep wondering if the cam phasers could be dragging because they might be too tight? But if you grab the cam with a wrench, it moves easily and moves the phaser, so the lock pins are seated.
Cost isn’t a huge concern, especially if I can find a tool with longevity, but I cant use it for work, so it wont pay back / trying to avoid the Snap-off-in-you van. I can go a long way into trying to squeeze another 150k miles out of this rig before I lay down for a new Jeep at $75k plus!

I applied for an "instant" Mainland trade license in December 2023 which I received rather quickly since it comes with a virtual site for the first year.
I don't actually reside in Dubai, but I want to keep my residence. My plan is to renew the trade license before it expires in Dec 2024. Here are my questions:

1. Do I need to have a location (and an ejari contact) in order to renew the license? If yes, do you have any recommendations for cheap sites, preferrably that I can lease online from abroad.
2. Will I be able to renew the license online? Their website here states that the process can be completed through the phone, and that there is no paperwork involved. I am not sure if this is entirely true especially if I need an ejari contract for a site.
3. In case I will really need to visit Dubai to renew the license, how long would the process take?

I am working with the PIC24Fj64GA002 microcontroller operating at 16MHz and the HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor. I believe my hardware is operating correctly. I used a logic analyzer to confirm that the sensor was sending signals back to my microcontroller, and when putting a breakpoint in my input capture ISR, the program correctly stops inside of it. This tells me the issue is with my code.
I am having an issue debugging this code. I placed an object in front of the sensor and varied its distance from the sensor. However, when placing a breakpoint inside the else statement in my input capture ISR, the distance value I am getting is not expected, and on top of that the distance won't change as I move the object.
One debugging step I took was connect my RB4 and RB5 pins together, and knowing that I am sending a pulse of 10us from RB5, I tested to see if the finalVal would correspond to 10us. It did not, so this tells me the formula I am using in my program is wrong.
What steps should I take from here?

Pull up to pickup pin. After a little bit I start looking for the passenger GPS location. I eventually find it a few blocks away, but then it gets onto the highway.
I call, no answer; I text, no response.
Cancel, no show.
So, I contact support about a passenger safety concern and explain what happened and ask if they might reach out to the passenger to ensure their safety. It has now been almost an hour, I've received three support comments telling me they are transferring the issue to a specialized department.
At this point the body would be buried.

Hi all,
Started using YTM recently, mostly for music, but my few podcasts are on it too after the Google Pods migration (I know, YTM sucks for podcasts, but I lack the energy to use another app anyway, so whatever).
However, what made the podcasting at least barely functional was there was a pinned auto playlist called "New Episodes" (or something like that). The playlist had some system-provided art. It was just the system playlist where new playlists populated, and when an ep was finished, I believe it removed the episode automatically as well.
As of a few days ago, that playlist just vanished for me. Gone from my playlists entirely, and not on the podcast page either. So, I don't think I have a spot to see the latest episodes, unless I go into each podcast individually.
Is this something that happened to everyone? Or just me? I don't think I could have deleted it, because it didn't seem like you could delete pinned auto playlists. The "Episodes for Later" Auto playlist is still there, for what its worth. Is this bare bones feature now gone too?

I (23m) have recently found out my (23f) fiancée has been secretly talking to a guy she works with & has been hanging out with him. When I first found out she assured me that he was gay and that I was over reacting. I only know of once that they hung out, she told me her & her bff were going fishing (they have before, we all have gone before) an I thought nothing of it. I found out later that her bff did not go & that she was with him. I had her location the whole time, I even pinned one of our favorite places on her Apple Maps for them to get to. I’ve recently found out that he is not gay, I think he has a girlfriend. I don’t check social media much, but she hid our engagement post from her page & deleted every picture/post of me that doesn’t have our son in it. After I found out I packed my bags an left, missing my son/her guilt tripping me I came back. I think it was a mistake, we talked for a few hours the day I came back (about a week ago now). I do not have a car, when we had our son she ran into pregnancy issues causing her to be unable to work, she only worked part time to pay her car payment & half of our insurance (15-20h a week) an I covered everything else. I could only afford to pay for her car payment (her pap co-signed) I was alone on my loan.

Ziak clutched his head as the Predator energy rifle laid on a mounting in front of him, the damned gun didn't just make no sense, the fact it worked was a insult to federation weapons technology itself.

As Ziak let out a defeated whine the sound of the heavy security door opened as Ziaks partner and friend M'aiq entered holding two cups of steaming Gojid Mohi tea and a plate of warmed Venlil Strayu, something the crew had stocked up on in excess due to there extended mission. M'aiq noticed his whining companion and approached him. “Ziak? Is something wrong? You've been working on that new predator weapon we acquired from the last capture, is something wrong?” His companions' sudden speech made the lanky Farsul yap in surprise and let out a low frustrated growl before noticing the morning meal his friend had fetched for the two, eagerly taking the tea and taking a few long sips of the potent stimulant. 

“Oh i can find many things wrong with this damned laser weapon if i can even call it that to begin with” he growled smacking the remarkably durable yet blocky thing with a spiteful paw, it did little but make it wobble a bit on its perch.

“Oh? What have you learned while i grabbed us what was left of morning meal?” his curious companion asked as Ziak growled. “For one, it has no internal moving components, the ONLY moving pieces on this are the trigger, and the battery release, everything else is closer to an archaic laser drive than a weapon!, i mean, its a laser magnetron firing into a compression array, farsul engineering students in primary make these in basic astrometric engineering and somehow not only do predators have the technology, but theyve weaponized it” Ziak spat indignatly as his companion nodded, Ziak taking a sip of his tea and a nibble of Strayu as M’aiq pondered the weapon quizzically, i twas a matte green and gunmetal weapon with its main…body? A simple rectangular cube. “Well…i cant imagine the weapon is all that powerful, it is just a laser after all, we have lasers, mostly used for mining or point defense on space stations or planetary outposts and they cant even effect civilian energy shielding.” Ziak simple stood up, picked up the bulky rifle that took him a short time to adjust to the in-farsul design and pulled its trigger, without warming a sharp CHOOM was heard as a bright red, near white beam of searing light is heard burning the air in the ship as it hit and burned through an aluminum target located in the lab, the laser was not just pinpoint accurate with no recoil but it was STRONG, able to flash cook 8 inches of aluminum and another 4 inches of solid federation steel. M'aiq jaw dropped “HOLY SMEG” M’aiq shouted and ran over to the still glowing target in shock. “How, how could they get THAT much energy into a laser that small?!” Ziak sighed and pressed a lever on the side of the gun and released the bright, nearly fluorescent yellow, fat cylindrical battery from the side of the laser weapons rear. “I had the computer analyze the components of this battery…its a small nuclear fission battery, y’know, like the kinds our warships use as emergency power?” Those words struck M'aiq, although Ziak knew his friend lacked that kind of specific knowledge. “Wait aren't those kinda…..really big?” M’aiq asked quizzically and with a twinge of fear as Zaik let out a sigh of frustration. “There twelve tons on average and are typically housed in a easily ejectable section of a ship, this battery is about….75 percent as potent as that, the other twenty five is compensated by a advanced and complex magnetic confinement system that….that's more advanced than anything i've seen and its just so CONFUSING” 

The Farsul growled in frustration, tossing the weapon back to the mounting where the emergency containment field kicked in, catching the gun in zero gravity and gently placing it back down onto the pedestal.

“Its lens array is just a inferred fused silica compound and babies first laser magnatron, but the high powered electro magnets and battery capacitors are so advanced and powerful that it makes the best federation tech in comparison look like, LIKE” Ziak looked like he was about to explode as M’iaq interjected “Hey hey, maybe this is just….some tribal weapon? Something slap dashed together out of spare parts?” M’iaq questioned as Ziak seemed to try and compose himself and lets out a deep aggravated sigh. “It isnt….when we interrogated the predator about it he said the weapon was of ‘pre-war’ design and had actually been fabricated recently by some weapon smith a part of his war tribe, the “Enclave” or whatever, and its STANDARD ISSUE!” he howled in frustration and contempt “I even did a micron scan of the thing! There are SERIAL NUMBERS, I even cross referenced it with some of the other Laser light guns we captured and they MATCHED which means not only are these things being produced but that predator was telling the truth!” Ziak, now dejected, smacked his muzzle into the table. “So…what does that mean?” M’iaq asked as Ziak looked up frustrated at his friend and colleague “I means M'aiq” he said coldy and with clear frustration “That these humans can produce weapons that can reduce any federation armored vehicle to molten slag with a few volleys….lets be grateful these things aren't automatic, ancestors shield us if these damned predators figure out what a PULSE LASER is….”
