2024.05.14 03:34 Hefty-Hyena-2227 Variable charge speed

Neither the owner's manual nor this vw charging guide mention how to reduce charge rate. I want to charge when my small solar generator is producing a reasonable amount of power. I get around 6 hours per sunny day of ~700w solar output, so I'd like to charge my ID4 at a "trickle" during those hours. Is it possible using vehicle controls? I have a L2 JuiceBox, wired to 240v 40A home AC. I also have an aftermarket L1 adapter that consumes some 10A at 120v, do I need to use that to "trickle charge" my ID4?

2024.05.14 03:23 Freakiziod [WTS] L3 WP PVS14 w/ Noisefighters AX14, Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x42 and KP 9 (5.5mm) stock

Timestamp: https://imgur.com/a/73J6N7y
L3 WP PVS14 & AX14 -$3,100 : Bought new from Gooningear less than a year ago before they became DARQ industries. Has only seen a few range trips and then decided to upgrade to duals. It is in fantastic condition. There is a zone 3 blem as pictured, but never was really noticeable to me when shooting. Don't think were allowed to post the spec sheet but the SNR is above 33 and FOM is around 2400. Can provide spec sheet to serious buyers. Comes with a 10yr warranty, however per Darq's website the device will have to be sent in for inspection for a warranty transfer. Comes with cheap hard case I got off Amazon. Filmed the video in pitch black condition, so I used the IR light to show how the tube actually would look outside.
I can hop on phone call or facetime if interested, just ask. Also would be willing to trade for a FP laser or Mawl plus cash.
NXS
-$1,100: Bought it on gafs over a year ago for a mk12 build, the build was scrapped and the NXS has been sitting in a safe ever since. Previous owner said he did not shoot that much with it. Comes with Butler Creek lens caps. It has the MRAD reticle (pictured, sorry for poor camera skills). The glass is pristine and looks amazing with no blemishes. There doesn't appear to be any salt that is visibly noticeable. I don't have the original box, but for some odd reason I have the manual for it.
KP9
-$160: Bought with the intention to form one, nerver got around to it. In great condition.
Preferred payment method is Paypal F&F with no notes.
If you call dibs, or have any other questions please PM me. Thanks everyone!

2024.05.14 03:06 SnackPatrol Custom TF2 Weapon Servers

Here is the easiest way to get your fix (best way below this one), and this server gets players. Honestly I preferred the one at the bottom due to it the weapons feeling more polished IIRC, and having more I believe, but this one is good too. Lot of fun stuff:

-VTF- Custom Weapons Revolution (TF2 Server)

https://www.battlemetrics.com/servers/tf2/22423359 (US server)
Here is the best way to get your fix, because it supports a whole-ass mod (the servers I'm going to mention also get players don't worry), generally gets more full, weapons seem more fleshed-out & legit, and the process of equipping them is built into the mod:

TF2Classic + knockout.chat Custom Weapons mod/servers

(Video of gameplay- dude kind of obnoxious, just skip around through vid to get a feel, it's very fun, also TF2Classic has jump pad tele replacements which are super fun)
Follow these steps:
  1. Download TF2Classic by following these instructions:
TF2Classic Download & Instructions
2) Download this asset pack
3) Use this shit I made in MSPaint for where files go
4) Go here, scroll to the middle under "Verified Servers" and add all of the servers with the name "Knockout.chat Custom Weapons Under New Management" to Favorites in TF2Classic. That site also tells you the player count currently. Or just add them manually:
Knockout.chat Custom Weapons Under New Management:
Server 1 IP: 54.37.80.217:27116 (France) ~100 ping for US, still playable
Server 2 IP: 54.37.80.217:27117 (same deal)
Server 3 IP: 54.37.80.217:27115 (same)

Bad Weapon Rehabilitation (TF2 Server)

No "custom" weapons per se, just a really solid rebalancing of all of them. Nothing really feels overpowered or underpowered anymore, also fun things like flames stay on surfaces & I think spy or engy can radar enemies within a few feet or something to his team? It's really fun and gets full. Here's the site with IPs and stuff (The US server gets full around peak time, esp. on weekends):
https://badweaponrehab.tf/

Custom Weapons US (Down atm while owners work on fixing- TF2 Server)

This Custom Weapons Server is/was amazing, but is currently down since the x64 bit update which is a shame. Had a lot of fun here and I would add it and wait till they hopefully fix things:

Keep upgrading my E90 335i or get an E46 M3?
I've got a manual E90 335i with 68k miles and N54 twin turbo engine. I absolutely love this car - I do all the work on it myself. It's full bolt-on (large FMIC, high flow downpipes, and aluminum charge pipe) tuned to MHD stage 2 and M3 front control arms. I've been toying around with the idea of putting another $10k into it and calling it a day - $3k for an LSD, $3k for Öhlin's full suspension kit, and $1.5k for a valvetronic exhaust. I understand my car will never be a true M car but that's not really my goal either.
On the other hand, I've been looking at some manual E46 M3 that are in the $40k range. For that price, I'm still looking at multiple owners and 80k+ miles. Most have the rod bearing, Vanos, and subframe reinforcement maintenance done.
E46 M3 has always been my dream car growing up but wasn't in my price range when I bought my single owner E90 335i several years ago, which cost me $16k. I'm not sure if I should pursue my dream car or stick with my current car, which I'm completely happy with.

2024.05.14 00:45 birdfur104 A little long -- but please give your opinion!

First and foremost, this post is for both consumers and techs, but mostly for techs as I want to see your side of things! I just need some advice on what to do in this situation. Apologies as it may be a little long but your efforts are much appreciated!
So, I recently got a new heat pump installed. I recently posted here getting the opinions of a few, and made a decision on one (I will post the specs in a comment). The company that installed it is a new hvac vendor for me, as I've used a different company in the past, but switched because i liked the owner (who came out to give the estimate), and the prices a little more. I feel all of this is important to mention as part of the background story.
My dilemma with the new unit has been crazy. The new hvac company allowed me to do the uninstall and removal of the old unit, and the new setup in two separate appointments at my request, as i had some work I wanted to do in a tough to reach spot in my basement behind the unit. This is unrelated to the hvac issue, but i thought it was also important to mention that they worked with me on giving me two appts and it was very appreciated.
However, i will say i was not present for the uninstall or install but my father in law was(who is very familiar with this stuff). But, overall, the uninstall and removal went pretty flawlessly.
Here is where the actual issues start:
The install was a little messy. They left a little garbage here and there (and left some behind the unit which was just cleaned. Not a big deal but i wanted to mention). They really didn't give any info on the new thermostat, and all the manuals for it and both the ac and air handler was left in the basement. Again, not a big deal but left us with some questions.
They installed a new outlet for the condensate pump, but didn't ask about where to place it. They put it on the platform (that just holds the air handler but isn't actually fastened to anything) but so low to the ground im worried about it taking on water if it rains hard. i feel they should have cleared the location with me as its very close to normal water levels of this basement (its dirt and from 1890 and a 4 ft tall basement, it's hard to get any water control down here, but im trying).
they put the condensate pump on the ground. Idk if this is normal or not, and my last one was on the ground, but i was hoping they'd put it up higher for the same water issue.
Lastly, i feel like the overall presentation was a little sloppy. there was some open gaps in the vents as pictured, and they didn't even put the label on the outside unit? Idk.
So my question is, what should I do? Am I being too picky? I just feel like i spent a ton of money, and the finishing touches were pretty sloppy. I also have a year maintenance contract with them so i don't want to burn bridges, but i think i should give them feedback. What are the thoughts on this?

2024.05.14 00:10 tearlock Yamaha P35: Can I connect bass pedals via MIDI and control the ORGAN?

I have a Yamaha P35 (technically a p35b but I haven't been able to find any documents specific to this variant). My son practices both piano and organ using this model but one of the biggest problems with using it for organ practice is that it of course does not have a set of bass pedals like the one at church.
I just purchased the JG3 Tech 24 bass pedal midi controller, hooked it up to the digital piano via MIDI cable to the P35's MIDI IN port and made sure that the pedal board was sending on channel 1 then tested the pedals. In spite of the fact that the piano was set to the organ voice, pressing on the pedals only produces piano sounds. I tried changing the midi channels on the pedal board but no matter what channel I sent (1-16) from the pedal board, the digital piano only produced piano sounds. Upon checking the owner's manual of the P35, you can adjust its MIDI send channels, in the manual mentions the existence of MIDI receive settings but never actually tells you how to access them, and the keyboard diagram in the manual that identifies what each piano key does when you hold down the function key seems to prove that there is no basic way to change the MIDI receive channels on this model, at least no way that's obvious. I'm not even sure if the default MIDI receive channel is the actual issue. Either way it was wondering if anybody has had much success using base pedal midi controllers with digital pianos and any advice you can give particularly for this model of piano would be greatly appreciated.

2024.05.13 23:24 Grouchy_Carpenter489 Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP: It is time to forget about standard Excel sheets and take an enhanced data upload tool

Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP: It is time to forget about standard Excel sheets and take an enhanced data upload tool
A Time to Forget About Ordinary Excel Sheets and Take an Enhanced Data Upload Tool
Thousands of users worldwide of Oracle Fusion ERP use ADFdi and FBDI for data loading or data management generally. Excel has some great features that help to streamline data analysis. There is no argument that Excel is a highly functional tool for organizational data management.
Ordinary Microsoft Excel spreadsheets have many limitations regarding data loading to Oracle Fusion Cloud. Excel is great for simple ad hoc calculations, but it needs connectivity features to automate and document its contents, making its use prone to error.
Manually keying in data in Oracle Cloud from Excel worksheets or copy-pasting is a slow, time-consuming process that is bound to reduce employee productivity. Accuracy is also compromised, and inaccurate data can cost an organization millions in revenue. Excel needs more automation, so if you handle large volumes of data, there may be a better tool for you. Furthermore, data security is not assured since Excel does not have encryption features.
The standard Oracle tools (ADFdi and FBDI) are rigid in nature; the user cannot move columns around or even easily paste data from another sheet to ADFdi or FBDI. The error reporting and resolution cycle is too cumbersome and needs specialized technical knowledge.
Why do people still use Excel sheets for data management?
It’s cheaper
For a team that doesn't care about automation, why bother spending on something more costly if they can get away with something that stores data tables? Considering its limitations, is it worth it in the long-run cost?
Easy-to-use
Excel is easy to use. It is one of the basic Microsoft Office tools that most people learn to use in basic computer interactions. Because they are already familiar with it, most people find Excel easy to use and often prefer to do so than learn new about new tools.
Limited knowledge of what’s available
Some people are just stuck in their routines. They need help staying current on the newest software available on the market. If the leadership of a team or members does not take the initiative to look around and find out what the market has to offer, they will be stuck with Excel and its attendant costs when others are enjoying the benefits of more advanced tools.
Poor experience with some project management software
Choosing a data loading tool to suit your data loading needs is a task that should be taken seriously. Many data-loading teams that used Excel have been turned off by their previous experience with data-loading tools. Some tools are cumbersome and difficult to use, others are code intensive and not suitable for most end users, and some may need more features you are looking for. The poor experience is a result of poor customization.
Suppose you had a tool that allowed you to use the easy-to-use and familiar Excel worksheet while providing you with advanced specialized features for loading data into the cloud. Wouldn’t that be great?
How to make Excel work with advanced tools
Working with Excel in data loading does not have to be a slow and cumbersome process that does not ensure the accuracy or security of your data. You can harness the power of Excel and still enjoy using advanced data-loading tools. More4Apps and Simplified Loader are Excel-based data-loading to consider.
More4Apps
More4Apps is an Excel-based data-loading tool that allows businesses to integrate familiar Excel spreadsheets with Oracle EBS and Oracle Fusion. Its tools work within the familiar interface of Microsoft Excel, leveraging the many features of Excel to facilitate data loading.
Training is optional since Excel is the main interface, and end-users are familiar with it. Unlike ordinary Excel spreadsheets, which are limited in scalability, More4Apps empowers data owners to carry out mass data uploads and updates.
A plugin must be installed on a PC before you can use More4Apps. The IT Helpdesk needs to be involved in installing the plugin, so only specific PCs can be used.
More4Apps sends and receives data from the server hosted by More4Apps. Considering data security, allowing data transfers to a third-party server without ensuring the details are transferred is risky. Robust testing is required with every release of More4Apps update to ensure your data is transferred to a safe place. The IT Security department needs to get involved in verifying the third-party server and plugin.
Simplified Loader
~Simplified Loader~ is an Excel-based tool designed explicitly for uploading or downloading data to and from Oracle Fusion Cloud. The Simplified Loader template is easy to use. It includes a toolbar that contains operations specific to the template. The output of any operation is displayed in the Excel template's Load Status and Error Message fields.
Simplified Loader Excel files upload or download data from Oracle Fusion Cloud. Simplified Loader’s Excel templates are used either for mass data loads, for example, data migration, or everyday data loading activities in Oracle Cloud.
Simplified Loader ensures your data’s security by routing data from the Excel template directly to Oracle Cloud without a third-party server. The Simplified Loader template doesn’t need plugin installation and runs using Macros, similar to how other Oracle Cloud tools interact with Oracle.
Which template should you choose?
User convenience - Both More4Apps and Simplified Loader provide features that enhance user experience. Most UX features are similar in both products. Since they use Microsoft Excel, additional training is rarely necessary. More4Apps provides a form to input data that is not in the tabular format. Whereas the Simplified Loader provides a single unified sheet to enter data, the same sheet is used to invoke the list of values.
Both tools allow you to insert custom columns, hide or delete columns you don't need, and insert formulas you may need for data analysis. You can also analyze or validate data before uploading it.
Data Security - Oracle Fusion only allows interaction through APIs. Both More4Apps and Simplified Loader use APIs to interact with Oracle, so the security protocols are the same in both toolsets. More4Apps uses an external system to manage licenses. From the IT point of view, in a highly data-sensitive environment, the IT has to open additional ports to interact with the More4Apps servers to validate licenses.
In terms of data security, both toolsets have the same features.
License Management - This topic is considerably different in More4Apps and Simplified Loader. More4Apps restricts the number of times an administrator can update users licensed to use the Simplified Loader template, whereas, in Simplified Loader, the Administrator has full control over maintaining the users licensed to use the Simplified Loader templates.
Support—Both organizations offer excellent support to users who log defects using the support system. Simplified Loader has a vast library of short videos demonstrating product features and functionalities. More4Apps has recently adopted the approach of video tutorials.
Plugin installation - This is a key difference between the two templates. The More4Apps template requires an additional plugin installed on the user's machine. The user will always see an additional toolbar in Excel when working on any Excel document. The user always has to use the PC where the plugin is installed. In comparison, the Simplified Loader Excel doesn’t need any plugin installation on the user’s machine. When the user opens the Simplified Loader file, the Simplified Loader toolbar appears. Users won’t see the additional toolbar when they open any other Excel file.
Using Excel parallelly: When using either toolset, Excel cannot be used for any other purposes. The user has to wait until the data is loaded to Oracle.
Pricing: Both toolsets offer per-user licensing. More4Apps offers licenses per user by module, whereas Simplified Loader offers licenses per user by Template. License management at the template level gives the administrator higher control to assign the right user to the right template, resulting in purchasing the right number of licenses per user. The More4Apps licenses are considerably higher (more than 5x) than the Simplified Loader licenses.
Conclusion
Using ordinary Excel spreadsheets for data loading may not be very effective. Excel may have shortcomings, but you can use it efficiently with advanced data-loading tools to get the best of both applications. Both More4Apps and Simplified Loader provide similar features for loading data in Oracle. Both are advanced data-loading tools that make your experience more pleasant and effective. Simplified Loader is more handy as it does not need plugin installation, and the user doesn’t need any involvement from IT to install the plug-in.

2024.05.13 23:23 Uncommon_Commoner Impedance Advice Needed: Connecting Music Man 112 RP Amp to Univox U4044 Speaker

Impedance Advice Needed: Connecting Music Man 112 RP Amp to Univox U4044 Speaker
Hey everyone,
I recently acquired a Univox U4044 speaker cabinet and I'm hoping to connect it to my Music Man 112 RP 65 watt amp via the extension speaker output and use the main 1x12" in my amp in unison with the 4x12" cab. I'm a bit unsure about the compatibility and the best way to go about this. Amp/speaker compatibility has been something I've struggled with understanding and I'm looking to learn more. Impedance has been especially confusing to me.
I only have experience using combo amps and the main speaker(s) they come with so I didn't know I'd need an electrical engineering degree to branch out into using extension speakers /s.
Here's what I know:
  • My Music Man amp has a 4 ohm and 8 ohm output impedance switch on the back. I believe the main speaker takes 8 ohms.
  • The Univox U4044 speaker cabinet has an impedance of 8 ohms and takes up to 120w. It has four 12" speakers. (is the whole cab needing 8 ohms or is each individual speaker 8 ohms and needs something different? this is so confusing pls help)
I've read conflicting information online about what's safe and what isn't so I'm hoping the experienced folks here might have some advice:
  1. Is it safe to connect my Music Man 112 RP 65w amp to the Univox U4044 speaker cabinet?
  2. If so, whats the best way to do it?
  3. Are there any potential risks or drawbacks I should be aware of?
  4. Any other cab recommendations?
  5. I'm planning on setting the amp on top of the cab and running all 5 speakers, is this parallel or series?
What I've gathered from reading the owners manual for my amp is I should use the 4 ohm output impedance but I'm not feeling confident in my hypothesis. Especially because I'm not sure if this is a parallel or series speaker situation (any tips on how I can learn more about this concept and determine if this is a parallel or series setup would be awesome)
Per the manual:
Parallel speaker impedance = (R1 * R2)/(R1+R2)
Series speaker impedance = R1+R2
Again, any insights or tips you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Especially if you have any tips to help make amp/speaker compatibility simpler to understand!!
Thanks in advance for your help!
ps i posted some pics of the amp and cab below (not mine, just snagged 'em off google)

2024.05.13 23:13 Alex_Wells Kind of spongy brakes on a Ford Fusion after replacing ABS

Hey :)
So the story is as follows: I bought a salvaged 2017 Ford Fusion Sport (2.7L) off of Copart. The car wasn't that damaged - it was run and drive and "only" needed a new bumper, a headlight and radiators in the front. That is to say that the damage was nowhere near anything brakes related.
Knowing it lacked some features, like the Adaptive Cruise Control, I planned to install those myself. For that I needed to replace the ABS unit, as the stock one did not support that. So when the car arrived, I only drove it for a hundred meters before parking and beginning repairs, including replacing the ABS. That also meant removing the tubes going from the master cylinder to the ABS.
I don't remember if the brakes were good or not before I got to replace the ABS - the brake discs were all rusted and I could drive it for long because of the missing antifreeze. Once I was done with the repairs, I manually bled the brakes to at least get to a shop for them to do it properly, and replace the fluid completely in the process.
After the shop bled the brakes, they were kind of shitty. By that I mean that the pedal would feel spongy (going back after releasing the pedal was slower than expected), and the brakes were very linear. Stopping from even 5-10km/h required pressing the pedal to ~30%.
I knew this wasn't normal, because I happened to have three other Fusions (all of the same generation, two pre-facelift) available to test the brakes and they all had the same brake feel that differed from mine. Pressing the pedal just 5-10% was enough to quickly stop the car from 5-10km/h, just like you'd expect on a modern car.
So I thought that maybe I bought a faulty used ABS - so I bought another one, replaced it, bled the brakes, got to the shop - they bled the brakes with a pressure thingy and absolutely nothing changed.
Some other things I tried:
Now I'm completely lost on what my next steps should be. I'm certain the brakes should be better than they are - judging from experience with other Fusions and from comments from other Fusion Sport owners. It also seems unlikely to me that the brake booster is bad - the car only has 50k miles. Some other Fusions have 5x that and no reported problems of brake booster failing.
Please advice 🥲

Yellow Pearlglow?
Hey, I have my eye on a z32 near a buddy's house. I'm planning to talk to the owner about it this summer. It's been sitting for several years, my buddy said 12. It has a red spray can job, but under the red paint that's chipping off, it appears to be this yellow. This means it's a 90-91, correct? It's a 2+2, because the gas cover (which is just straight up missing on the car) is behind the rear wheelwell. I don't know if it's a manual or not. I hope it is, because I will swap it to a manual if it's not. And that's like, $2-$3k I don't need to waste on a car. I plan on offering him about $1000, with $1200 being my max offer. Overall, the car is in rough shape. But the reason I made this post is, I love that yellow color, can I buy OEM paint a repaint it, or do I have to pay a pro to do it and to get a hold of the specific color I'm wanting?

2024.05.13 22:31 MotownCatMom 2015 Honda CRV cold start rattle

Started intermittently a few months ago. I've scrupulously changed the oil per the owners manual (the heads-up that the engine gives at 15%) but when this first hit the oil was low, but no low pressure light came on. It was time for a change anyway. Come to find out from an indy mechanic that that's not frequent enough and that these 2.4 engines are known for timing chain/tensioneactuator issues. That it's an engineering flaw which Honda was slow to correct. I've priced it out and the indy and the dealership both want around $2k to do the complete job. I only have 74K on this car. What gives? Kinda pissed. I feel like Honda should cover this.

2024.05.13 22:27 ontheportco How to improve my process?

I am a business owner, trying to carry my product database from excel to sqlite and store product images in S3.
My plan was to upload images to S3 and put image URLs in a column.
Yet I have 3000 pictures and manually uploading them, naming them, then adding them to corresponding rows in SQL seems too inefficient.
Is there a better way to do this? Totally new to AWS products all help is appreciated.

2024.05.13 22:18 GremoryKing Fault Code Troubleshooting Help

So I have a 2015 Iron 883. The previous owner put it in a garage at 55 miles and never touched it again. I've been trying to get it back up to good condition; de-rusted tank, new fuel pump, tires, fluid changes, new brakes, new battery, etc. I haven't had too much issue with it but around July 2023 got a P0107 and P0374 codes. I've put over 2000 miles on it and did the 500 mile break in, 1000 mile service, replaced the MAP sensor, spark plugs and spark plug wires, CKP sensor, HO2S. Harley tech told me in the maintenance history the original owner allegedly brought the bike back to the dealership for the same rideability issue (which is probably why he locked it up at 55 miles) so they diagnosed a defective ECM from the manufacturer, got approval for a good will repair and replaced it for free. Every time they have the bike they do the maintenance, test ride it for 10-20 miles and the codes stay gone. I have it back for a couple weeks and they pop up again and bike starts having rideability issues. They said they don't know what's wrong with it but I'm not paying them another $200-$300 for more troubleshooting if they can't figure out how to fix it. I probed the whole circuit for the CKP and MAP sensors for continuity on all the wires and they show proper voltage when tested with the battery. Both of the sensors seem to work fine and they're new so I don't see the sensors themselves being the issues. Not sure what else could cause both of those codes repeatedly together. I've been scrounging through the service manual as well but there's a lot to sift through. I've also taken it to 3 other mechanics before who diagnosed it ECM before the good will repair so they don't know what else could be the issue either. I grew up on dirt bikes but this is my first real street motorcycle so I'm by no means a Harley tech but any help would be appreciated. I also get this could be hard to diagnose through a sub reddit but if there's anything else that would help, just leave a comment and I could give more info.
TL;DR
Rideability issues - Bike randomly loses power and bogs down for 2-5 seconds at a time, throttle no longer controls anything. DOES NOT lose electrical power, only mechanical power. Does better with this issue at low speeds but is more frequent above 45mph. On 2 occasions has died completely at low speeds or when idle.
Codes thrown - P0107, P0374
Parts replaced - ECM, MAP sensor, CKP Sensor, HO2S, spark plugs & wires, battery
Injectors were inspected, CKP and MAP sensor circuits probed for continuity and voltage. I don't think the bike would bog down and throw both codes if it was just the TPS but I don't know.
