ET Max 100 Mile Review

2024.05.14 09:53 gavinfrag03 ET Max 100 Mile Review

ET Max 100 Mile Review
So, new wheel without many consumer reviews on YouTube or anywhere else. Haven’t seen any written on here yet so here goes!
I’ll start by saying that I am in no way a Begode fanboy; I actually prefer Veteran wheels :D
The reason I bought another euc after owning a Patton at the end of last summer is because I sold it for a motorcycle. I’m a bit of an adrenaline junky, so I feel like that’s a pretty substantial progression. I recently got in an accident, though. My bike was already an R title, so even with small issues like cracks in the fairings, my insurance company called it a total loss. I got more money back than I bought it for, but I wanted to save up a little more over the summer to get a nicer one eventually. I didn’t wanna stay inside while waiting, so an euc was my saving grace.
I got my ET on Friday, May 10th. Crazy story actually; I was actually looking to buy the EX30 as I couldn’t really afford any of this year’s offerings (GT Pro, Lynx, ET). Alien Rides had it on sale for $2700 opposed to $3600 on my usual website, EWheels. I buy the EX30 and instantly get an email stating that they were actually sold out of the EX, but they could offer me a used floor model EX for less, or a refund. I knew I wanted to sell the wheel at the end of the summer to get a new bike after saving a bit, so I didn’t want any extra miles. I declined and asked for the refund, but then I struck gold.
Alien Rides must really care about customer loyalty, because they offered me an ET max for the SAME PRICE as the EX30 on sale. $2,700, no more no less. I asked for the Lynx, but they said they didn’t order as many of those so they couldn’t offer the same deal. Honestly, I’m kinda happy because the ET is supposedly much more stable at high speeds, can go faster, and omfg the design language is GORGEOUS. I probably have the “cheapest” ET Max in the world (lol). I wasn’t going to pick this option if there were any early batch issues, but both eWheels and Alien Rides said that none of the ET’s they’ve sold have had a single issue.
As soon as I tried lifting the box inside from the porch, I realized that this thing was substantial. This was much harder than lifting the Patton box, and I didn’t know if I could handle it (I’m 6’ 160lbs btw, so pretty skinny).
After doing a check on tire psi (IMPORTANT as Begode tends to overinflate), playing with linkage settings, and applying the surprisingly good Velcro (either Alien Rides replaced the shitty Begode Velcro or this batch had better included Velcro), I took the wheel out for its first spin. It had been about 4 or 5 months since I’ve been on a wheel, but I acclimated to the ET unbelievably quickly. I told myself I wasn’t going to ride on main roads but I was already pushing mid 40’s in traffic 10 minutes in. It’s THAT easy to feel comfortable on this wheel.
Maybe my legs were tired on day two, but I was doing similar speeds and got insanely bad wobbles. Like, my feet would’ve come off the pedals if it weren’t for the great spiked pedals (I don’t really see the need to upgrade personally). Luckily I’ve been able to save every single wobble I’ve gotten after I learned the invisible chair braking technique. No bad wobbles after this; totally could’ve been user error.
I am now on day 4 with over 100 miles on the odometer, and I’ve only had to charge it twice. Riding with hard acceleration at fast speeds got me 37.7 miles with 30% battery left. It’s noticeably better than my Patton, at least it feels like it. I’m sure that once I’m comfortable pushing this wheel to its full potential, that number will only go down with my super hilly terrain. Also keep in mind that voltage climbed back up to that 30% after resting, and it was more like 20% at the end of my ride giving me beeps at around 35-40mph.
I only have a single issue and one minor gripe so far:
  • With medium hardness and zero pre-set horizontal tilt, the pedals like to tilt up a bit at both high speeds and sudden up’s and down’s. This isn’t noticeable to me with full pedal hardness and -1 tilt though. Could be fixed with a firmware update, so I’m not bothered.
  • More of a gripe, but the suspension makes clunking noises. I only mind because my Patton’s FastAce suspension was super quiet and smooth, but this suspension is still adequate after being spoiled like that. I’m 160 and the 1300lb spring is pretty alright if you nearly fully unscrew the spring tensioning ring. I’ve been told that the psi of the air chamber doesn’t matter too much and is only mandatory for the functionality of compression and dampening. Recommended psi is 50-100.
Other than those pretty insignificant cons, this wheel is a BEAST. I thought I was pushing it up hills, but when I started checking the PWM on DarknessBot I realized that I could push it so much harder. I was doing an absolute disservice to this thing, but now that I’ve gotten out and really given it a thrash, I gotta say that it’s unbelievable. You have enough high-speed power to pass cars in 45+mph traffic, and blast up hills without a single issue. Hell, even the stock pads feel great. They aren’t the best for locking your foot in, but they get the job done seeing as this wheel isn’t really meant for offroad use. It’s enough to hop curbs and hold you in if you’re accelerating so hard that you’re on your tip-toes.
By far, this is the best option on the market if you ever sell, crash (in my case), or can’t afford a motorcycle and still want that feeling of insane adrenaline. The acceleration, cornering, braking, and feeling of substantial-ness between your feet is unreal. I 100000000% recommend to just go for it. No need to wait for later batches; get it.
Please ask anything at all in the comments!
Edit: THE HEADLIGHT ADJUSTS????

2024.05.14 09:24 Snazzy21 Motorcycle has really strong smelling exhaust

My 1984 XL100S has a strong smelling exhaust even after the bike is warmed up and the choke is pulled out. I tuned the carburetor, the plug looks perfect, the rings are new and it doesn't burn oil. My 90s 4runner with 3 additional cylinders that gets worse fuel economy doesn't have an exhaust this pungent. The exhaust system is unmodified.
It smells like a lawn mower. Is this a normal thing? If it is why is it so smelly?

Creaking shock, need help!
Bike is Propain Tyee, running a Formula Mod coil shock and its been great until now.
My bike recently developed this creaking sound, so I dissasembled, cleaned, re-greased the whole suspension linkage. This didn’t fix the creak.
Tried a trick that I saw online, putting dry lube on the seating surfaces of the coil and the creak was gone for one ride but then returned once again.
Should I just pack a bunch of grease on the contact surfaces of the coil, or is there some other solution?

Fix and sell or scrap?
I have an old Honda Dream 150cc that's been in a shed for the last 40 years. Is it worth it to fix up and sell or would it be better off scrapping? It used to be a family member's and they passed so I would need to go through the titling process on top of fixing it up. From the research, I would need to get new tires, spark plug, battery, carburetor, and a throttle cable bare minimum. It's a cool looking bike but I'm not sure I need another project and don't feel the calling to ride an antique bike.

2024.05.14 06:12 matthewperryofficial Gravel Path Considerations?

Behind my fence is a hill approx 40-50 feet from base to top. I want to make a path so that I can drive my ride on mower up it and dump my clippings in the woods at the top of the hill. My plan was to use landscaping fabric and garden edging and then lay 3/4inch crushed gravel and tamp that all down to 2-3 inch depth. Any insights on this such as what depth, size of gravel if not 3/4inch, better options, etc etc? Thanks!

2024.05.14 04:34 agilly1989 Thought Experiment (Implementing an Edison Motors system into a regular car)

Edison Motors (if you haven't heard of them yet) have designed a ... hybrid (?)... system for trucks (semis, lorrys, etc) that has a motogenerator, batteries and then an electric final drive.
In my spare time driving my own truck around, I have been wondering how I could be implemented in a car. Something like a large sedan.
Now, from what I have read, it takes about ~25Kw to cruise at 100Km/h (60mph, sorry my freedom units friends, I'm not gonna convert everything for you), about double that climbing a 5%-7% grade (I think that's what the post said, I don't remember).
I'm currently stuck working out what combustion engine to use for the motogenerator combo.
You will want enough power to charge the batteries + run the electric motor (let's say 100Kw) but be efficient enough to not chew fuel. My current ideas are the DW10 motor from Peugeot, a 2L turbo diesel that makes about 120Kw on a good day. Another option is a tiny petrol engine, like the Ford Ecoboost 1L. But remember, when it's running as a generator, it'll be running at a constant speed but with a varying load, like a tractor or ride-on mower.
Again, this is just a thought experiment, just thinking of what could be done with a smaller than a trucks engine bay.

Is it ok to ride over these rocks?
I feel like I know the answer but just wanted to check. Just got a zero turn mower and want to know if I can ride over rocks like this with the blades on.
Will the mower pull up these rocks and damage the blades?

2024.05.14 02:18 daman6901 2009 Craftsman 21HP, 42 inch mower worth?

Hi guys, I have a 2009 Craftsman YTS3000 21 HP, 42 inch lawn mower in excellent condition. I am looking to sell it and upgrade to a zero turn mower. What would be a fair asking price for this type of mower?

2024.05.14 02:15 bbartlett51 What suspension for Cummins

Looking to purchase a suspension lift for Mt 2019 RAM 2500 Limited. Also looking at the Carli Lifetime replacement Ball joints. So who has put what lift kit in their cummins, that hasn't change ride quality. I'm thinking the Thuren Fox 2.0 woth reservoir fronts. I wouldn't mind a little more stiffness in the back but don't haul much other than a landscaping trailer with 2 full-sized Ferris mowers. Any advice is appreciated.

2024.05.14 02:13 Corvinus1026 02' Honda Shadow Spirit 750 Carb

Smell of gas fumes and the bike popping when it's semi still 'cold' is making me think it's the carburetor. I bought the bike a few months ago and it rides perfectly fine , just the the things I listed above is getting pretty annoying to deal with. Is a rebuild of the carb ideal of just get some carburetor cleaner.

2024.05.14 00:46 cute_physics_guy The only good thing of X-Men 97 was it got me interested in X-Men again.

Begin rant:
I read X-Men in the 90s, I got a ton of backissues back then, and I ended up having hundreds of comics that I still have today. I got out of it a couple of times, when Age of Apocalypse came along, I thought they really cancelled all of the main series, and I was pretty upset. A few years later, I found out that was only temporary, so I started collecting again until around the time of "The New X-Men" which had poor art, bad storylines, and they killed some of my favorite characters like Colossus and Psylocke.
I was really excited for X-Men 97, until I saw the first trailer...... where it had Gambit riding Wolverine like a lawn mower and charging his claws.
That was one of the dumbest scenes I had ever seen, something that a 10 year old would come up with, and they actually animated it. In that retcon they gave Wolverine super strength so a 6'5'' man could stand on top of him and it didn't phase his running, and they gave him invincibility so his claws exploding didn't hurt him at all.
From what I can tell the whole series is like that, power retcon after power retcon, story retcon after story retcon, fanboy after fanboy going "nO thAt's bAdaSS." One of the reasons the X-Men was interesting is that they didn't just keep on giving them new powers back in the 70s-90s, sure it happened occasionally, but most of the time it was finding new ways to use their powers. Like when Colossus fought Juggernaught, Juggernaught gets him into a hold, and to escape Colossus reverts to his smaller human form to slip out and then changes again. They didn't do this stand on a running Wolverine b/s.
I had a discussion in another form of I thought of one of the stupidest things they could do and I said "next, since Cyclops can now push himself back with backblast, they will have him flying around like Banshee", and a user responded "that sounds pretty badass". I didn't even know how to respond to someone liking the stupid idea I proposed.
BACK IN MY DAY.... there would have been a bunch of letters to Marvel appearing in X-Mail saying "STOP DOING THIS STUPID STUFF", but now days there's a mindless cult following eating every stupid retcon up like it's the most brilliant thing ever.
The only good thing I can see that came from that series was it actually got me interested in X-Men again. Now with all the digital comics, I can actually go back and read stories that I couldn't buy back in the day.
End rant.

2024.05.14 00:05 Ryanvw28 Kohler cv15s no start?

1994 John Deere riding mower
Kohler cv15s motor
Turns over for days, but not firing
New fuel pump, visibly see fuel flow
New carb (butterfly style with choke built in)
New battery
New fuel
Magneto is strong, cleaned and set to .010”
Good Spark when plug removed and grounded to chassis
It turns over for days, and if I add starting fluid it may ignite for a split second, maybe.
What am I missing?
It died last fall mid mow, and I’ve been struggling to get it back up for this season.
When it died, it was acting like it was out of gas, and fuel pump wasn’t pumping.

In ground sprinkler planning
I’m planning out my in ground sprinkler system (I was going to use the RainBird online services but I can’t wait 30+ days). I have some questions as well as what I’m planning to do. I have 3 acres but am only wanting to in ground the area immediate to my house and guest cabin.
Q- should I put the PRV before I tee off into my zones from here? Or should I put a PRV after teeing off (effectively 1 PRV per zone, probably will only be 2 zones at this location)?
Q- should I put in an inline filter? The water still comes out clear but I know some sediment gets in there.
Q- the standard nozzle is the number 8, what nozzles come with it?
Q- how durable are in ground sprinklers? I have a riding lawn mower as well occasionally will drive on the grass for yard work etc…will they break if accidentally run over?
My property is sloped the entire way from my “source” down, is this a concern? (About 1 foot over an 8 foot level)
Any tips/tricks for trenching? (Besides renting a trencher of course)
Anything I am missing?

2024.05.13 22:23 Zookeeper4116 Absolute garbage

To start I used to be all for craftsman. I had handtools, power tools, even gloves. Within the past year I bought an electric mower and electric weed eater. (I got duped by the "check out how great electric motor tech is now".)
The mower was ok at best but can't even cut a .2 acre yard on a full charge. The weedeater is garbage from day 1. It can't even handle a patch of crab grass.
I decide I'll at least need a gas weedeater. The gas weed eater just randomly stops working last week. I get it going again and it tosses the string won't hold a string at all now.
Yesterday I'm at work, I do refrigeration. I'm using my craftsman impact and it seems weird. I grab the top only to notice the handle is completely snapped off and is only being held by the rubber grip.
How did this company go from one of the best to being better used as a boat anchor? At this point I don't want the warranty I want to return this shit. I'll never buy a craftsman item again. If I won a craftsman tool set at this point I'd actually feel bad donating it because the poor sap that ended up with it doesn't deserve that headache.

I cant find blade for my Viking riding mower.
Hello guys, we bought our first cheap riding mower, but I can't find these blades online or any similar to them. Yes, I think those three are definitely stock because I found another used Viking online with the same blades, except that one had all four the same, so I guess they are stock. It's been like 4-5 days now that I've been trying on Google and local stores, but not with much luck.
Sorry i dont have any better pictures right now maybe on weekend.
If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. If "we" can't find any, I think I'll need to modify some other blades to fit, but I'd like to avoid that if possible.
Type: Viking GT10S 10hp briggs (old one piece carb type) deck:92cm but it can fit ~47cm blades without collision Thanks!
