2024.06.07 21:18 Last-Of-My-Kind Day of Visibility: June 27th

Hey everyone, I recently contacted the campaign about an idea I had for a "Day of Visibility" for the 27th of this month. As you know, the first Biden "Debate" will be that day. And it remains to be known if our guy RFKJ will be invited by CNN to participate.
I thought it would be a good idea for us supporters to use that day to show our support for Bobby as a type of protest against these rigged debates, whether he makes the stage or not.
All that's required of you as supporters to participate is to just visibly show your support. You can wear your RFK gear, hats or shirts and go about your day. Make signs, whatever. Go for a walk in the park, hang out at a bar, sit on your porch, do whatever you want, just physically express your support for Bobby.
If you want to make events, by all means do. Root for Bobby. But I envisioned this as a casual experience in which everyone can participate by their own means at their own speed, rather than be too official and organized.
I have a busy highway where I live, so I will probably be out there with some signs waving them around on that day. But the point is to have a presence across the country, and have fun doing it. And for that, I need the help of everyone hear and anyone willing to participate.
Visibility is important. I feel like there are a ton of people who are interested in Bobby and are willing to vote for him, but feel pressured not to because yhe running narrative by the media is "He can't win. He's a spoiler". But if we get out there and show that real, regular, and intelligent, everyday people are behind him, I feel all of the "Maybe..." folks will turn to "Yes!"
I don't know if the campaign will take this idea or not, (I did get some feedback. There was a positive response, so we'll see what hapoens) but I'm putting it out there for the community and will be telling everyone in my area about it.
I hope you all here feel this is a good idea and will participate, and tell your family and friends too.

2024.06.07 21:18 bestchange_pr What crypto asset market participants were talking about this week

⚡️Telegram now has its own currency. This was announced by the founder of the project Pavel Durov. “Big day today, we're launching Telegram Stars – a way to pay for digital services in mini-app,” he noted. According to the entrepreneur, “mini apps can now accept payments for digital services using the simplest payment method possible – in-app purchases on Android and iOS.”
⚡️ The crypto market remains bullish amid expectations of ETH-ETF approval and growing demand for the product in the United States. This opinion was expressed by QCP Capital analysts. Experts believe that optimism in the options market is evidenced by volatility in the options market. “Another reason for persistent bullishness is speculators increasing long positions in other crypto majors in anticipation of additional spot ETF approvals in the near future,” the analysts added.
⚡️ Bitcoin has proven its viability. This opinion was expressed by the head of the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong, Julia Leung. Many conservative financial market participants still believe that BTC and ETH have no intrinsic value, but Leung disagrees. The official said the debate about the value of cryptocurrencies can continue endlessly, but over 15 years, Bitcoin has experienced several ups and downs, proving its economic stability. According to Ms. Leung this means that it can be considered an alternative to traditional finance.

2024.06.07 21:17 melodiousmaple Tips for Cruising with a 12 month old!

My husband, daughter, and I cruised together for her first time last month and spent 10 days exploring Ireland with NCL. I couldn't find many resources before our trip about cruising with an infant (and asking brought out a TON of negativity) so I wanted to share what we learned!
Overall, our trip was amazing!! We were gone for 3.5 weeks total, exploring London before embarking on the Ireland cruise. It was our daughter's first international trip, but we've traveled with her pretty extensively through the US. We just booked a 10 day Caribbean Christmas cruise on Royal (she'll be 20 months) and are counting down the days!
Here are some tips/tidbits in random order:
1) The staff LOVE babies and will come interact, play, and visit with your child nearly nonstop. It was really sweet, but something to be prepared for.
2) We did BLW, so our daughter eats normal food. However, she has a dairy allergy that needed to be accomodated. It was a struggle every single meal to have her needs taken seriously, because it was expected that she'd want to eat veggie purees, not curry and steak. If you anticipate being in this situation, be prepared to be super proactive about meals. We were so glad we packed a bunch of her favorite granola bars to tide her over while we negotiated with the wait staff each day.
3) Pack extra of any meds you might need. She started cutting molars halfway through the trip and we quickly ran out of the baby Tylenol we packed. It was nerve wracking trying to find meds in another country and hope she tolerated them well.
4) Invest in a slim profile pack and play and stroller. We loved our guava and bringing our own sleep space gave her consistency throught the whole trip. The stroller we brought fits in the overhead compartment of an airplane so it's small and light. It's so much easier to wear the baby and carry the stroller on and off the ship, especially at tender ports.
5) Babywear as much as you can! It's so much more convenient than trying to navigate crowds and elevators with the stroller.... But still bring the stroller. We almost left it at home and we're SO GLAD we didn't.
6) Find the infant play room on the first day. We spent hours there each day letting her get all of her wiggles out! It was the size of an inside cabin but the staff rotated the toys each day and she LOVED IT!
7) Bring a sound machine, even if you don't use one at home! It was so nice to drown out the sounds of life at 6PM so she could sleep uninterrupted.
8) Embrace the slower pace! Bring a few good books and a card game to play with your partner. We loved getting to just hang out and relax while she slept without the guilt of feeling like we should be out at a show or a bar.
9) Don't over pack. Baby doesn't need more than a few outfits. Just wash whatever is dirty in the sink each night.
10) Bring some new, interactive toys for the restaurants. We gave her a busy book for her birthday that was perfect to bring along for meal times.
11) Bring an extra 2-3 days worth of diapers and 2-3 extra packs of wipes. We used wet wipes for EVERYTHING on the ship and ran out way faster than anticipated.
12) Don't let the naysayers get to you. People have a lot of opinions about traveling with babies and small children, but those opinions don't matter. The memories you will make with your child will be unforgettable! On the third night of our cruise, we woke our daughter up at midnight to watch the northern lights from the helipad. I tear up every time I look at those photos!
Our number one piece of advice is to BOOK THE TRIP!!! You are going to have an amazing time as a family and make the most special memories!

2024.06.07 21:14 fussomoro Fearmongering, prejudice and good ol' racism. Why the narrative that the game in Brazil will be dangerous caught up despite all the evidence to the contrary? A friendly discussion.

Hello, friends.
I'll start by introducing myself. My name is Felipe Moro, I'm a 40 year old Brazilian and I'll be attending the Eagles game this September on the stadium of my team (Palmeiras) biggest rivals (Corinthians). I'll be also wearing my Palmeiras shirt, and I'll be taking my 2 year old daughter with me. That's how little I'm worried about it.
So. Why all the fearmongering going on? Let's first discuss hard data:
As of 2023, São Paulo had a murder rate of 6,7 deaths per 100,000 people, Philadelphia in the same period had a murder rate of 15.9 deaths per 100,000 people. More than double. In overall numbers, São Paulo had 681 murders and Philadelphia had 410 murders. The main difference is that Philadelphia has 1,526,006 inhabitants while São Paulo has 11,967,825 inhabitants.
Couldn't find data for Green Bay. But Wisconsin has a murder rate of 5.9 deaths per 100,000 people. So just slightly slower than São Paulo.
In regards to absolute numbers, there's really nothing to be afraid of.
Still, I hear that the problem is not the overall violence, but the fact that there's a gang/cartel war and green is the color of the enemy gang in the region.
But no. First of all, Brazil doesn't have cartels, it has gangs, Brazil, just like the US, is a consumer of drugs not a producer. The difference is that our drugs usually come from Bolivia and Paraguay instead of Colombia and Mexico. What São Paulo does have is the PCC. A crime syndicate turned global mafia that controls things like prostitution, gambling, racketeering, money laundering, bank robbery and drug trade inside the city. They are however on a 10 year PAX MAFIOSA with the state and don't have any rivals in the city. If anything, they will be thrilled with all the foreigners wanting a Brazilian hooker coming for the game. Great wikipedia article too.
With that out of the way, why I'm not worried about the gang colors? Well, because it's not real.
The whole debacle about using green was fabricated by a Corinthians representative that jokingly said that he was against the NFL choosing two green teams to play on their stadium. The news was then posted unironically on reddit and twitter, the American-side of those platforms heard about it and thought it was a real problem and people escalated it until it became the nonsense we heard this past few days.
While Corinthians fans notoriously despite the green color, the worst thing it ever happened was a player in the team who got a fine for using a green boot during a game. That's it. The fans can get annoyed by it and you wouldn't want to get inside the Corinthians side of the stadium wearing a Palmeiras shirt DURING a Corinthians game. But none of those things are going to happen. No one will bat an eye because two green teams will play in their stadium.
All in all, this is a non-issue in Brazil that's getting way too much track on the US because people want to believe that all of Brazil is a nightmarish war zone with brown people stabbing anyone not slightly whiter than them for iPhones and that the gangs somehow control the people.
It's not. It's going to be ok.

2024.06.07 21:12 Different-Hornet-954 Bitchy Mom

TLDR AT BOTTOM
I've been sick for 3 days and stayed home for 2 and struggled to convince my mom to let me stay home today. For context l'm very often sick like almost every months I have something that is so bad I need to stay home. At least half of them are lung related since it's very polluted where I live (as in I need to use a nebuliser.) I'm underweight (my whole life) and can never gain weight but my mom always jokes about how she's jealous, I have a very weak immune system. My mom has become more and more blantantly transphobic, she used to just be skeptical of surgeries but now she's falling into TERF rethoric. She always was difficult to let me stay home when I'm sick even with fevers and the school having a policy to not send your kid to school sick. Today after staying home an extra day than the doctor said yesterday. I still feel very sick; feverish, coughing and plain exhausted. I tried at first hinting subtly to my mom that I can't go to school by saying how I feel but as always she ignored it and told me to get ready. So l end up telling her directly and then she suddenly starts going on about "I'm a woman and I'm still strong! No body wants a sick dog, you're always sick!" So I get obviously angry and also confused why she's bringing gender into it and I tell her that maybe l'm always sick becaus she never lets me fully recover. Then out of fucking nowhere she goes "And you're the one who wants all those surgeries."
I lose it. That's the first time she's been so blatantly transphobic in a completely unrelated argument. She was 100% just trying to hurt my feelings. I'm so riled up by her constant misgendering and deadnaming plus this that I start calling her every curse on the planet and I tell her that respect goes both ways after she pulls out the respect your elders card again. But she somehow says she's not disrespecting me??? My mother is completely delusional she told me just a day before that she doesn't know shit about trans healthcare after she called it experimental and I disproved that. So she told me I just don't pray enough??? I try to entertain her saying I do pray but god isn't going to do it for me, then she says it's because I don't pray at church which is literally unsafe for me as I pass but she always misgendering me automatically outing me but she lies to herself saying that I'm androgynous enough and that people are tolerant of masculine girls (homosexuality is crime in this great country she decided to come work at). Anyway, after she left cus she hates when I cry. I'm now having the worst panic attack of my life. I couldn't breathe and I broke something for the first time ver out of pure rage (I hid it in the trash so she won't see) plus I had to hold back hitting my mom because she so fucking smug and know it all. I also puked my entire breakfast and I'm shaking right now as I write this.
TDLR: My transphobic mom who always sends me to school sick said "but you want all those trans surgeries" and insinuated I'm too weak. After I stood my ground since I'm still sick and told her l'm not going. I broke something and had a panic attack the second she left.
Help? Btw my dad is out of town and he's usually more supportive one for me.

2024.06.07 21:11 mr-prez Capital One: 2 automatic CLIs on bucketed card in 1.5 years.

Back in December, I made this post detailing my automatic $3k CLI after 1 year of using a bucketed QS1 with a $500 limit. Basically, I got this CLI by funneling almost all of my spend into my card and paying off multiple times per month. These were normal everyday purchases like gas, groceries, amazon, etc. so there was no way to misconstrue this as manufactured spend. It likely also helped that I opened a Capital One Bank account and sent my direct deposit there.
After the initial increase to $3.5k I was able to fit my larger bills and thus more spend onto the card. I let the balance run a bit high, over $3k, but I always paid well above the minimum so it was clear that I had a handle on debt management. The balance has been steadily decreasing over the past month or two.
A few days ago, I made a payment which brought my balance below $500 and I woke up this morning to another automatic CLI of $2.5k, setting my total credit limit at $6k. Very interesting, because people generally go years without even getting a CLI upon request.
The major takeaway here is utilization: Capital One clearly loves when you use their cards and take them to the limit, while also demonstrating that you know how to pay your bills without depending on minimum payments.
Capital One has been hounding me every week or so with emails about applying for a SavorOne with a SUB since December. I'll wait until my new limit and utilization report to the credit bureaus, but I'm more than confident I'll get a very nice limit.
TL;DR: If you truly use your Capital One card consistently, even bucketed cards can get nice CLIs.

2024.06.07 21:10 Ok_Guide3141 What is a valvetronic Universal Muffler?

A Valvetronic or Valved Exhaust is an exhaust that has multiple pathways of exhaust flow, all controlled by a valve that opens and closes. This valve directs the exhaust through the different chambers changing the volume and tone of the vehicles engine. The valve itself can be electronic or pneumatic. Many newer vehicles like BMW come from factory with electronic valves. Valvetronic Designs develops its exhausts for these vehicles to be plug and play with either the factory valves, or the separate Valvetronic Designs valve control kits that can be found HERE. Pneumatic valves are controlled by vacuum. Our universal mufflers use a vacuum valve system controlled by our vacuum control box. This box creates vacuum pressure separate from the engine vacuum to open and close the valves, allowing full controllability of the valve operation, even with the engine off. Valved exhausts truly are the future of the automotive industry. With exhaust laws becoming more strict across the country, Valvetronic exhausts can help keep our hobby alive. Allowing us to be courteous to our neighbors, avoid hefty fines, but also enjoy our fun cars when the time is appropriate.

2024.06.07 21:10 RegulusPlus Flat DR tiers & The current state of damage reduction

Flat DR is becoming more commonplace (thanks to % DR negation doing the same), and I wanted to do an analysis on how much flat damage reduction is realistic for different types of units and why.
For anyone new to the concept of damage reduction, I'll explain how it differs from percentage-based damage reduction.

X% vs. X

Percentage-based damage reduction is a skill effect that reduces incoming damage after Atk, Def, and Res stats are factored in by a percentage.
Flat damage reduction (or damage negation) is a more recent skill effect that reduces incoming damage, after the usual damage calculation, by a flat number.
In the above example, how these two effects work is clear. Percentage-based DR can create a much greater reduction in damage (at the cost of its ability to be reduced). Flat DR usually creates a small reduction in damage, but it's more reliable and a critical effect for omni-tanks to take as little damage as possible.
These two effects are best when paired together. Basically, percentage-based DR makes big numbers into smaller numbers, and then flat DR turns those smaller numbers into tank-able numbers.
The best way to gain access to this combo on a tank is to get a %-DR Special:
as well as a source of flat DR, which are mostly on exclusive skills (and Laguz Friend, and Excel on PP & Specials).

How much Flat DR can we expect per unit (for now)?

Flat DR so far has been balanced according to a few factors such as:
  1. Conditionality
  2. Activation on specific strikes (e.g. only first/follow-up)
  3. Other trade-offs
  4. Placement in kit
Highly conditional flat DR can reach very high numbers, but as a result is able to be reduced to 0 by counterplay, unlike effects that use a number based on the user's stat.
When flat DR applies on only a specific strike, it tends to be higher. Similarly, other trade-offs can bring up the value of flat DR.
Finally, sacrificing a passive skill slot (B skill) seems to increase the value of flat DR because it cannot stack with Laguz Friend and also sacrifices other effects that can greatly enhance a tank's gameplay (Null C-Disrupt most notably).
Here are the classes or tiers of flat DR so far, their average X value, as well as the units in them *limited to one skill, this is not including units who can stack their weapon with Laguz Friend for example):
  1. All or Nothing (Super-High Ceiling)
    1. The source of damage negation can be absolutely countered, but has a high ceiling as a result.
    2. These units with such high flat DR either sacrifice their B skill or have drastically low Spd causing them to almost guarantee having to take two or more strikes if they cannot kill immediately on their counterattack.
    3. Examples:
      1. Eikthrynir: X is calculated as 50% of the highest total bonuses on nearby allies. From just his weapon's bonuses, this should be 9. With Spd/Res+6 on those same allies, it goes up to 18. Under extreme circumstances (double buffs due to Harsh Command or Attuned Micaiah), this can come up to 32 or more from this skill alone. However, him and his allies can be panicked and all DR will be lost.
      2. Attuned Caeda: X is the highest total bonuses on nearby allies (double the deer man, but also takes up her B skill slot). With her base kit and her bonuses not negated, this is 24 flat DR. It can go up to double that (48 or more) with flipped penalties and no panic.
      3. Nidhoggr: X is the damage dealt to foe (max 20). Yes she deals 8 combat-beginning damage so that base value should be 8, but Breath of Life can counter this.
  2. Higher Value, Higher Cost (25% or 30% of a Stat)
    1. There's a slight increase in the value of damage negation at a cost. This difference of 5% or 10% of a stat when dealing with modern stats can
    2. For all of the below tiers, the estimated value of X is calculated using only their weapon, their stats with flowers and a boon in the respective stat, and an average of +10 to that stat to account for passive skills.
    3. Examples:
      1. New Year Nerthuz: X = 25% of Spd, but only on the foe's first attacks. This value is about 19.
      2. Diamant: X = 25% of Def, but negates all non-Special % DR on himself and hinders his own ability to follow-up. This value is about 15. This is due to only getting Def+5 from his weapon and not having highest base stat either.
      3. Rhea: X = 30% of Res, but only on follow-up attacks. This value is about 19.
      4. Edward: X = 16, but only when getting hit with an offensive Special.
  3. The Blueprint (20% of a Stat)
    1. This was the introduction of this effect. 20% of a stat, after in-combat effects. When using the Atk stat, the percentage is reduced due to weapon might, so it becomes 15%.
    2. Note the outlier in Bridal Embla (an amazing unit). Not only does she get higher stats, but she's the only significantly faster unit in this class. All other units calculate flat DR based off of a defensive stat and as such have lower Spd mostly and risk follow-ups.
    3. Examples:
      1. Spring Maria: The original, getting 20% of her Def as damage negation. The value is about 13.
      2. Askr: X = 20% of Def; it's about 13.
      3. New Year Askr: X = 20% of Def; about 12.
      4. Bridal Embla: X = 20% of Spd; valued at about 15, thanks to her modern weapon granting about 10 more stats than other units in this class.
      5. Brave Dimitri: X = 20% of Def; about 12.
      6. Dimitri: X = 15% of Atk; about 12.
      7. Gatekeeper: X = 20% of Def; about 12.
      8. Midori: X = 15% of Atk; about 13.
      9. Ninja Cherche: X = 20% of Def; about 12.
      10. Laguz Friend Users: X = 20% of Def/Res, should be in line with the above, those with modern weapons and refines (+13-15 to stats) hitting Embla's 15, otherwise hitting around 12.
  4. The New Normal (Fixed Value or 15% of a Stat)
    1. Basically, you need flat DR to survive now, so this is added to a unit's kit who also has other means of survival such as overall high stat swings, higher Spd, infantry skill access, % DR in the same skill, is a grail unit (lol), etc.
    2. Examples:
      1. Rinkah: X = 15% of Def, but only on first attacks; valued at around 9.
      2. Cormag: X = 15% of Def, valued at around 7.
      3. Edward: X = 8, unless when getting hit with an offensive Special.
      4. Halloween Corrin: X = 8, on defensive Special trigger.
      5. Brave Corrin: X = 7, on foe's first attacks only.
      6. Legendary Corrin: X = 7, on foe's first attacks only.
      7. Say'ri: X = 7, on foe's first attacks only.
      8. Fallen Ike: X = 7, on foe's first attacks only.
      9. Mozu: X = 10
      10. Divine Veine (Stone): X = 10, when hit with an offensive Special.
  5. We Used to be a country A proper country
    1. The lowest amount of flat DR which belongs to skills that are either outdated or have a lot else going for them, but each big of flat DR can contribute to survival. Upgrades to these inheritable skills could become very relevant.
    2. Examples:
      1. Shield Pulse: X = 5, on defensive Special trigger.
      2. Hardy Fighter: X = 5, on defensive Special trigger.
      3. Summer Fjorm: X = 5, on defensive Special trigger.

Final Notes

Of course there are some units I probably missed and in-combat all of these numbers will look different according to each situation. But this is to paint a general picture of how flat DR is currently balanced in the game. The key notes are that:

What country has, from a social-historical POV, little to no reason to exist?

I'd start off with the obvious, and say Belgium. It's basically a land of Dutch that isn't the Netherlands, a French land that doesn't belong to France, and a bit of Germany that isn't German, with a capital that is mostly French-speaking existing as an enclave surrounded by Dutch speakers, that also serves as the capital of Flanders despite not even being part of it.
All of this has led to struggles and conflicts for decades if not centuries, and it is therefore no surprise that a significant part of the Belgian population supports separatism and lingustic nationalism of some sorts, especially in Flanders. It's a true geographical abomination indeed.
Yes, there are countries, mostly in Africa, that are far worse in this regard, but that's mostly because of colonialism, as opposed to countries that became like this in a more "natural" way.

2024.06.07 21:08 DattDamonMavis Plugin For Making Backing Loops?

Longtime primary Reason user who is tired of my ancient version and doesn't want to pay for the new subscription. I've used Reaper a good amount for live audio mixing, but as a drummer, I exclusively used Reason for making tracks and often backing loops when we throw together impromptu covers. I've used Reason's native Redrum plugin for making loops for a decade. What's a good option for making loops in Reaper?
I make my loops bespoke for each song, but my main job is very busy right now, so I'd love an option that can make patterns automatically. I'm also open to just using percussion loop .wav files if anyone knows any good loop packs. I'm not making money from music anymore. I just don't want to look like an idiot, lol.
Genre can vary from alternative, to country, to r&b. Lots of shakers, tambourines, snaps, claps, and rim shots. Some synthetic sounds, but not often.
Any thoughts?

2024.06.07 21:08 Ok_Working168 How can I make a geographical graph in Google Colab for the analysis of online chess tournament Titled Tuesday?

Hi! I am in the process of making a project for one of my university classes and I chose to analyze the statistics of a series of chess tournaments called Titled Tuesday which are played on chess.com. For the reference, I am working with this particular dataset: https://www.kaggle.com/datasets/stassl/chess-com-titled-tuesday-games
For this project assignment we have to use Google Colab, and the point is to make an analysis that has to be supported by various graphs. So far I have bar charts and line graphs that show the rating statistics, and I also had to include various network graphs that show connectedness of the paired players in the tournament (those I had to limit in number because if I had left all the participants to be represented by a single node, the chart would be overwhelmed and overstuffed). Now I wish to add some more variety to make my analysis more interesting, so my plan was to use either geopandas or ipywidgets to create a world map which would show which parts of the world bring the most participants.
The command I used, and which hadn't gotten marked as an error but it didn't worked either as the program gave me back feedback that it couldn't find the coordinates of federations, is following:
import ipywidgets as widgets
from IPython.display import display
from geopy.geocoders import Nominatim
import time
federations_df = df[['white_fed', 'black_fed']]
federations_df = federations_df.dropna()
G = nx.Graph()
for index, row in federations_df.iterrows():
white_fed = row['white_fed']
black_fed = row['black_fed']
if G.has_edge(white_fed, black_fed):
G[white_fed][black_fed]['weight'] += 1
else:
G.add_edge(white_fed, black_fed, weight=1)
federations = list(set(federations_df['white_fed']).union(set(federations_df['black_fed'])))
geolocator = Nominatim(user_agent="geoapiExercises")
def get_coordinates(federation):
try:
location = geolocator.geocode(federation)
if location:

I would appreciate your feedback and advices very much! Also, my field of study isn't related to computer science and programming so I am almost complete beginner but I am determined to pass this Data Science class that we have, and learn more about programming along the way because I find it very cool. I get small dopamine rushes every time my code works, so I would be even happier if that becomes more often occurrence lol

2024.06.07 21:04 ethangyt MOASS vs. Transformed Gamestop Market Cap (It Might Not Be What You Think)

Let's get one thing straight first:
The ENTIRE stock market is mostly fake. Fundamentals have gone out the window since 2008 and QE. It's all based on BIG CAPITAL manipulating sentiment. That's why if you have any friends working at, oh let's say Morgan Stanley or Goldman or JPM, the vast majority of them will admit: you can't outwit big capital, thus the safest play for your money is in ETFs (ones that mirror large index funds like the S&P). Trust me (bro), those bankers invest that way themselves believing in the historical average returns of the S&P.
That said, Gamestop is in a unique situation. Fundamentals actually look solid if you view it from this vantage point:
They are keeping but "leaning out" the legacy business, yet due to the events in 2021, they got something they didn't have before: massive name and brand exposure worldwide. You know how much it costs in marketing fees to get the same impact? A metric fuck ton. Just Google Forbes most valuable brands to get an idea (Walmart's brand is worth $30b, Netflix $26b, etc).
They are now diluting but raising their cash balance astronomically to roughly 4-5Billion. Imagine the possibilities with the Gamestop brand AND that much cash.
So RK is absolutely right - you're basically either betting on management having a blockbuster of a plan yet to be unveiled using that cash, thus transforming the business, OR you think they are morons here to fuck shareholders. Depending on your stance, you're either on the long or short side.
If Gamestop can operate with an innovative, startup mentality WHILE sitting on such a huge amount of cash (whereas normally startups have to run around licking the nuts of VCs and PEs to support their massive cash burn)... I mean, just let your imagination run wild with what kind of transformation they can come up with...
...and how much that newly transformed business would be worth.
RC is thinking LONG term. A transformed Gamestop could viably reach a market cap level on par or even surpassing MOASS, the difference is it would be a sustainable business that isn't a forseeable pump and dump (let's be real, if it were MOASS that would be exactly the outcome). Besides, haven't we learned from 2021? Fuckers on the street are detestable but they have fucking power. They can resort to all sorts of unimaginable, unethical shit to prevent you from realizing that profit (halt halt halt, no buy button, taking brokerages offline, banning certain tickers from trading due to "extreme volatility", reversing trades hi BRK/A, the possibilities are endless).
AND THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT. THERE'S NOTHING "FREE" ABOUT OUR MARKETS.
But they can't fuck with a legitimately transformed business that gets a valuation multiplier like a successful startup.
So, which side are you willing to bet on?

2024.06.07 21:02 Sea-Helicopter-4796 Please ensure justice for everyone

I have a request from the development team of the game Xdefiant. I am an Iranian player, and this game is not available in my country. I understand that this decision is due to the United States sanctions against the Iranian government. However, I want to inform you that the people of Iran, like you, oppose the policies of the Iranian government. Over the years, many people have been arrested and killed for this opposition. Additionally, many companies that have sanctioned Iran have done so in a way that allows the use of their games through DNS because the policies of governments should not affect the friendship and justice among different people. Therefore, I ask you to enable the playability of this game for Iranian players using DNS. In this way, there will be no risk from the U.S. government for you. Thank you for your help.

2024.06.07 21:02 passiontiger74 Help for a non redditor

My mother is running a half marathon tomorrow in Skye. She's 70. She's using Strava on her run but wants to know if it is possible that she can share her journey live with those of us who won't be in the country. Is this possible?
edit to clarify: she isn't wanting to have video or such just a dot on the map as progression like watching an airline's flight in progress.

2024.06.07 21:01 celobelo Backup from stolen phone and new number

Hi everyone,
I hope someone can help me with this!
My phone was stolen and since I currently live outside of my country of origin, I had to get a new phone number and sim from another phone company where I'm currently based.
Since I now have both a new phone and new phone number, I have no way to restore my chats. I read that you can restore them from your Google account as well if you backed it up on there, but when I input it it says I have no backup on it l, so maybe I had never put that option unfortunately.
In two months I will go back to my own country and hopefully be able to restore my old phone number on a new sim that I will start using. In that case, do I have any way to retrieve my chats?
Another option I have is that I'm still logged in my old phone number and account on whatsapp Web from my laptop. Can I back up from there?
Would really appreciate if anyone knows if I can do something about this, I would hate to lose all my chats.
Thanks in advance!

2024.06.07 21:00 Dear_Bluejay2233 Torn about situation with Grandma 91F

Hello everyone,
I'm not sure if this is the right subreddit but I am a bit lost.
Background: I basically grew up with my grandma. I was with her a lot and she was the loveliest grandma I could imagine back then. Always cooking my favorite meals, doing fun stuff with us, letting us drive her mad with our Pokémon figures, you get the gist. She lost her husband when we were very young (me 2,5, brother was just born). She would always spend time with us and help my mom who was a single mother at the time. She visited my mom literally daily and this didn't stop after my mom got married again. Even though my mom was married, she still was at our house like 5-6 days a week. I never thought anything of it because I was a kid. She would always help in the household and play with us so I thought it was all normal. Important to mention: she would still regularly meet other family members and most of all a few close friends. She would also go to a beach vacation once a year with her senior friend.
What came after those years: Her best friend, whom she went on vacation with passed away. Some family members passed as well. My mom's relationship became abusive and ended in divorce. I moved abroad, over 10'000 miles from my home.
Most recent worrying changes: - Before I moved abroad 4 years ago, I said goodbye to a fit and bubbly and kind grandma (87F back then) who would still run to the bus station, walk a lot and do lots of stuff. While I was abroad, grandma was diagnosed with cancer 2x. She was not able to get anyone visiting because of the restrictions during the pandemic. I was not able to come home because I couldn't leave the country also because of the restrictions of the pandemic.
- I ended up moving back home last year only to come home to a grandma I could not recognize anymore. She can't walk anymore (uses a walker), she is prediabetic, can't hear anymore and seems to have no joy with nothing anymore.
Which leads to the next problem: Grandma is totally isolated. She is even more stubborn about going to an elderly home or assisted living, if you just dare to mention it, she will leave the room and not talk to you anymore. Grandma refuses any contact to a senior group, her old friends or other family members. She only wants my mom and us grandkids to take care of her and spend all our free time with her.
And this leads to another problem: Grandma's health is worrisome. She has heart failure and dizziness, she doesn't eat anymore (and keeps lying about eating and having a full fridge, but I have seen it more than enough to say she never has anything but condiments and maybe a sausage and a salad in there). She always says that she is fit mentally but just her body doesn't do what she wants anymore. We have not seen any signs of dementia etc and funnily enough she can always her whatever she is not supposed to hear. But at the same time it's so hard to talk to her, she can't understand anything, my mom literally has to go with her to doctor's appointments and then grandma yells through the room "what did he say?" When the doctor is sitting next to her.
And all of this leads to my and my family's frustrations: - no matter what she is not willing to leave the house, doing anything we suggest. - she won't let us help her with her household, yet expects my mom to drive her to all doctor's appointments. - she says she can't get on buses because they won't help her get in, but I even called the bus company and they confirmed that they're obligated to help people get on the bus. Yet grandma refuses to take the bus, which stops in front of her house. - she keeps complaining about how lonely she is, but we're all working and have our own families, we can't just give up our lives to be with her all the time. My mom is currently looking for a job again but even when she was working it wasn't reason enough for grandma to accept that mom doesn't have time.
Something I should maybe also mention is that my grandma is not particularly mean or angry all the time, which makes it even harder to set proper boundaries, however, while she doesn't push me to have kids so she can become a great-grandma, we did have the discussion and when I said that I don't want kids she was like "but then who will take care of you when you're old?" And this made me angry and I scolded her and said that children are not just born to take care of their parents all their life.
Overall I'm just so frustrated and lost. And mainly torn.
I remember grandma as this precious person who was one of my favorites and I still love her with all my heart, but I just don't know what to do anymore. I know I have hurt her with not taking all her shit, but I had a hard time too when I sent her a care package from the other side of the world to make her cancer treatment easier, only for her to call me and scold the f out of me like "how dare you send me food I don't feel like eating it!!!".
I also feel guilty of not spending time with her all the time and I feel like my family is forwarding the guilt from person to person. We all want to help but she is so stubborn, no matter what we suggest she declines (with excuses that are actual proven lies).
She basically wants to move in with my mom and my brothers for them to take care of her full-time. My mom doesn't want this as she also wants to live her own life, she has her own struggles and is mentally drained too. My brothers are also working and after my mom rejected living together with her, grandma even went as far as trying to manipulate my brother who is disabled and can't judge over the situation.
I am sorry if this post is really confusing, but I was just wondering if you have any advice?
We want to help grandma and can't watch her being miserable, but it seems like the only way we can help her not be miserable is by being miserable ourselves and giving up our own lives...
Thank you already.
