2024.04.09 00:06 trevormead Finished my playa art upgrades early and I'm beyond thrilled with how they turned out, just had to share the results

Meet Doloresaurus, a fully mobile dinosaur puppet that sings, dances, burps, farts, meows, and plays a fantastic assortment of house and disco tunes, now covered with enough LEDs to glow like the frickin' sun.
This project was the nail in the coffin for ever using EL wire again. 60 meters(!) of 5mm COB LED strips, powered by up to three 12ah 12v LiFePo batteries mounted in the back. Silent, insanely bright, easy to solder (because seriously, fuck soldering EL wire), flexible enough and much more durable compared to EL wire.
Was worried about the power draw. On paper, the lights should draw just over 44a(!!!) at full tilt, and I wired it accordingly (added a breaker, used 8-10awg wire for the mains, split the body across two dimmers rated up to 30a each, etc.). In practice, they only draw up to 17a, and end up looking best when sipping a mere 3-5a. Ended up pushing the whole body through one dimmer and the teeth through the other, for better control and the option for a Cheshire Cat effect.
It was heavy-ish without the lights, definitely heavier now with the lights (and especially the batteries). Still need to weigh it, but would guess it was ~40lbs before, now north of 50lbs, maybe 60 with all three batteries (again, thrilled it needs much less power than anticipated). Sound comes from two Bluetooth speakers in the back and one in the mouth, paired to a couple of old phones running soundboard apps for independent triggering of music and sound effects.
Can't wait to see you all out there!! )'(

2024.04.06 13:07 mastroductions Psy Trance till 6am poll

Posted this in another thread, but I'm curious where the consensus lies. I love Eclipse fest, period. The only questionable decision on is to play 24hr Psy Trance music. Whosever made the decision to blast computer sex sounds until the sun rises should be Wet Willied until their eardrums collapse. I was right next to that stage in Oregon and there wasn't enough room in my canal for the amount of plugs needed to shut that shit out. Roast me all you want, I know I sound like an old fart, but even a 16th note rest would be a nice switch up every now and then. Im literally as far as possible from that stage and it still sounds like a drummer boy is 180BPM rolling like a meth head dating Heisenberg. Is this just a ploy to keep everyone awake so they buy more from vendors, or do people actually enjoy this music? It's 6am now and I'm about to Forrest Gump the soundboard. God bless you if you're camping close to that stage and I hope you don't like sleep.

2024.03.26 17:49 MeatyPasta Streams getting boring?

I’ve been watching case for about 8 months now. I still watch almost every stream, and if I miss I’ll watch the VOD the next day. I still laugh a shit ton, and get a lot of enjoyment from the stream. I even use my prime sub on him to avoid the ads. However, I feel like Case has turned into a human soundboard of himself, and is now just going through the motions in order to get clips.
All he says is:
1) what this nerd say? 2) Buddy really? 3) fart on me, dookie on me, etc 4) give me a kiss 5) in just playing, no I’m not
It’s just the same reactions to the same memes and insults. I feel like I’m watching the same stream 6 days a week. He also never has conversations with the chat that doesn’t involve a fake drive thru story. He only responds to insults or comments about the number of ads. I actually feel like I’m watching a robot who’s programmed to only says catchphrase’s.

What's the name of the mod I've seen a few people using that effectively acts as a soundboard for DRG sound effects? IE saying "Mushroom" without pinging one, the fart sound effects, coughing, etc.

2024.02.09 05:14 Fartin-Scorsese26 Has anyone ever gotten a second date after telling a fart story on the first?

So I (27M) just got back from a first date (26F). We went to a nearby coffee shop and I thought it went well overall with the exception of one part.
One thing we had in common is we were both theater kids and we were talking about things we did for theater projects. I was in the middle of telling her about the one time I was setting up live sound for an upcoming production. I got to the point of talking about I was quite a bit of a rotten student in High school. At this point was when I in my mind realized "Oh no, there's a fart involved in this story."
So rather than awkwardly stopping the story, I leveled with her and said I'm about to risk everything here continuing with this story.
Back to the fart in question, after me and my high school best friend finished setting up the sound system, we were screwing around swearing into the mics. Then, I look over at him while he's at the soundboard and I say "Dude! I got a fart! Turn the boom channel up."
So he does, I pull the boom mic down to my rear, I just let er go! The thing reverberates throughout the gym for a good 3 seconds after liftoff. Buddy and I are just howling afterwards. Teacher hears us cackling in the gym and asks us what the hell are we doing.
So at the end of telling this story, my date chuckles and says "well, my brother has the same sense of humor as you." So she either genuinely thought it was funny or might've been the turnoff. Guess we'll find out.
Anybody else have a similar experience?

2024.01.11 03:50 Remarkable_Spring811 Is it possible to use a soundboard in Lethal Company?

I'd love to be able to use a soundboard in the facilities while searching for scrap, so I can play random sound effects and have it echo throughout the halls.
Memes and fart noises are at the top of my list.

2023.11.14 09:48 J-R4M Dan talks about feeling like a celebrity with the fart soundboard

Dan talks about showing the fart soundboard to his wife and finding some soundclip of Arin on there, then he says that that was a notable time he felt like a celebrity around his wife.
I also believe something like “Yep, that’s my comedy partner” (referring to Arin) was said shortly after.

It's quite childish but I laughed so much at it. Like they asked for a Howard dean scream but instead got the reverberating fart 🤣 anyone know which episode this is?

2023.10.20 10:27 Too_Tall_64 Game Theorist Taskmaster

Matpat mentioned enjoying the show Taskmaster (I think on his GT Live Billy video recently?), and how he would love to host some sort of Taskmaster. I would love to see a Theorist Taskmaster type series on any/all the channels. I wanted to throw around some ideas on how that might work…
~ If we were to do a 12 episode series, you could split them up between the 4 channels. Each week a new episode appears on a different channel with that week’s theme being Lifestyle, Food, Game or Film related. With most of the challenges being filmed before the ‘live’ show reviewing the results, you could film multiple themes of challenges in a day, and then reorganize them properly later.
If there are concerns the show might not do as well on one of the other channels, there’s still the option of splitting among 2 or 3 channels evenly.
~Themes for each channels challenges could include
Game Theory: Physical challenges. GT’s Gamelab Parkour Video is by far the most popular video, even overtaking FNAF. Having contestants participate in ‘real’ game scenarios as physical challenges should do well.
Horror game themed: So much of Game Theory is about horror games and lore, giving people small escape room style challenges in spooky rooms or sinister backstory would be fun to watch. Or more macabre ideas like dissecting a Mario plush to find a key.
Film Theory: ‘Put on a show’. Matpat loves Theater, so getting contestants to recreate movie scenes, or enact their own scenes with wild caveats. If Matthew was to play the role of Theorist Errand Giver, he could certainly enjoy digging into some crazy acting. “Perform the best stunt to be dubbed over with the Wilhelm Scream.
Trivia: Movie trivia is always fun to play with, but there are probably more visually interesting ways of doing it… “You have 20 seconds to put on the hat+accessories of the character your trivia question pertains to… while blindfolded”
Food: Having contestants cook with obtrusive rules, identifying food in physical states food should not be in, Or trying to perform engineering with hotdogs. Plenty of things could be done for Food Theory.
Style Theory: Feels like it could encompass most anything else. ‘Do a common household task with uncommon household appliances’ ‘Use the contents of this laundry basket to create a trebuchet’ ‘Hit the baseball without your hands touching the bat’ Sports, crafts, clothes, socializing, cleaning, just about ‘anything else’ could fit here. Although ‘Can Shoes Kill” is the most popular by a wide margin, so I imagine Violence with household items would be popular~
For those who don’t know, the show is structured to have the contestants and hosts bantering between clips of the actual tasks that have already been performed. Could this be a good show to stream on GT Live first before being put up on the individual channels? Or maybe just some of the challenges involved Audience Participation and are then used for a future episode?
I’m imagining scheduling the contestants as they’re able, and if there’s a ‘live’ task planned, notify viewers of the upcoming stream so they can participate in some ways. Maybe it’s just taking Madlib suggestions from the audience, or have something hooked up to Youtube/Twitch where things can be activated by Chat. Sounds, LEDs, AI Voice Generation, or just organizing chat into something comprehensible.
I’m thinking things like ‘DDR, As controlled by Chat’, “There are 10 things in this room activated by Chat. Figure out 5 of those triggers and their effects to finish” “Follow this Audio Only tutorial on cooking fish while Chat has control of a fart soundboard.” Whatever the game, it encourages routine involvement in Live content, and seeing their names on screen during an episode would be something to encourage further engagement. Maybe only the people who are Premium or Patreon members can actually interact with these live shows as another incentive for that.
The show loves doing sneaky tricks and leaving clues to their tasks.. Contestants might have secret tasks that they’re trying to fulfill throughout the show. “Act like you’ve forgotten that your fellow contestant Jacksepticeye’s real name is Sean. If anyone calls you out on it, you lose” “Wear mismatched socks to every live show” “Spell Nietzsche’s name like it’s an impressive fact you know at least 5 times” Plenty of little things for the audience to speculate on in the comments for extra Engagement points.
Challenge Highlights can be featured in Youtube Shorts and other short-form social media. Even if people aren’t willing to watch an hour-long show, They might still be inclined to watch a handful of highlights over the course of an hour.
I feel like a Theorist Taskmaster would be an amazing project to try out. I would personally love to work on a project like that, I too have been binging Taskmaster and now I want more.

2023.10.19 20:08 iman277 Help Finding History Road

I’ve been looking for a specific history road but I’m having a real hard time finding it. The story is about I believe a woman who was studying in a foreign country maybe? But she was looking for a bathroom but every place she went either didn’t have a bathroom or did not let her use it. I’m pretty sure Steve presses the fart buttons on the soundboard a bunch during the story.
Anyways I’m pretty sure that it was a history road on an episode from sometime 2022 onward. I would appreciate any help you all could provide. Thanks!

2023.09.05 18:34 transxbombshell Inappropriate Sound Alerts

Hello everyone!
I'm new here, kind of new to reddit. I have a general question I'm hoping some more experienced streamers might be able to help me out with? I've only been streaming for about a year!
I have one streamer, let's call them John. Usually, John is just a lurker and doesn't really participate in chat much. At one point I had made John a mod but have since removed Johns mod abilities because they're rather inconsistent with hanging out and never really "modded" when present.
Enter sound alerts...
I set up sound alerts on my channel as a way for people to add to the stream using bits. At first nobody really used them, but then I realized they were being used every stream by John. John has more of us made themselves my official soundboard operator at their own expense of a few bucks a stream.
Now, normally I wouldn't mind at all. However, John seems to take a special pleasure in using the sound alerts at the most inappropriate times. Like someone will be telling me something kind of serious, and never fails John will use the "fart" sound alert. Like, not kidding, someone was telling me that their parent who had cancer wasn't feeling good and John used the "sad trumbone" alert. I kind of laughed, and I felt horrible but apologized profusely. Super awkward vibes. Now I sort of feel like maybe I made a mistake?
How would y'all handle this? Should I timeout John for being rude? Remove the sound alerts? Just ignore it and move on?
I don't know if I should even respond at all but I feel bad and cant help but feel like maybe I should do something to keep this from happening. Any help or insight is appreciated.

2023.08.16 15:50 ridiculous_ha The 3 P's of Ethan Klein

Poop - Ethan just likes to talk about the intricacies of scat for some reason. The amount of times Ethan has diverted the conversation onto a tangent about poo, pee, farts, cleanup (bidets, wiping), and incontinence disorders (prolapses, bedwetting, etc) is astounding. He even has a Wendy William's fart soundbite on Zach's soundboard. It is difficult to find an episode where scat is not mentioned or heard.
Porn - Ethan is fixated on sex. He lights up when he can talk about sex and if sex is not the discussion topic, Ethan will make a sex-related joke on the topic. Ethan is the most engaged when he is talking to or about sex workers (only fans streamers, escorts/prostitutes, pornstars, etc). And when Ethan is bored, he will ask guests about the intimate details of their sex life or make speculations about sexual details for the people involved in the topic.
Potshots - Ethan has never constructed a sophisticated joke. All his goofs and gaffs are cheap and easy insults based on appearance (attractiveness, hairline/baldness, weight, clothing-style choices, etc), perceived weakness (mental health distress, poverty, education, etc), implied submission (being cucked, being a beta, etc), or mocking victimization (pedophilia, "getting railed", easily scammed, etc). The common thread in all of Ethan's jokes is that the humor is mean.

----------------------- Add dead air and that is the gist of a typical H3 Podcast episode.

2023.08.13 19:59 BreathPuzzleheaded10 You have a real life mental soundboard

You have a non-physical soundboard where anytime you want to ,you can think about a sound that you have stored in your soundboard.
Everyone in a 5 meters radius will be able to hear the sound you played, you can store up to 15 sounds in the soundboard and they can last maximum 10 seconds.
You can visualize your soundboard and all the sounds in it to be sure of what sounds you have.
The sounds can not come from the same source, meaning if you have a sound that comes from Family Guy ,you can't have another sound from that show.
When I say sounds it's litteraly anything that can be heard, wether it's a fart noise or a political speech (a very short one since it's only ten seconds)

2023.08.11 02:28 RockerDad984 Let's talk about this vr game

Gorilla Tag. Have you heard of it? Do your kids play it? Do they watch YouTube videos about it?
My son has been playing it and watching some youtubers related to it. I've been keeping a close eye on it and every day I find something more inappropriate than the day before. At first, it was just stupid things I'm sure most of us said as kids, like "yo mama". Days later the cursing started (in game kids, not my son cause I'm there the whole time he's playing). Ok, kids curse, no surprise there. It's hard to hear everything that's said, but there were f bombs from kids who sounded like 7 years old. Then, I started watching some of the youtubers with him. I'm usually on top of that, but I was giving him the benefit of the doubt. Some youtubers were innocent kids just having fun and playing appropriately.
Then, there were 20-somethings, and some youtubers that didn't show themselves but sounded older, like 40s maybe. These two sets of youtubers were far from family-friendly. In games with young kids, they're cursing, making sexual remarks/sounds/jokes, using soundboards to trick kids into saying inappropriate things(ie, if I was a fart, would you blow me) encouraging loud screaming in-game and lobbies. If you don't know, the sound for the headsets is basically right in your ear. So screaming, it's super loud and can hurt depending on your hearing sensitivity or if you're wearing headphones.
If your younger kid(s) play this game, check it out. Make sure to check in on the videos they watch around this game, if you don't already. And overall, pay attention to what they're looking at online.
Edit: forgot to mention the cyber bullying, of course
