As for our Mists of Pandaria development, we are happy to announce the next big step in the development of patch 5.2 and the Throne of Thunder ‒ the raid is now available to test on MoP PTR! If you wish to try out the raid and share your feedback, we would be grateful, but please be mindful of a few details:

• While all bosses should have their mechanics nearly finished, the raid is still in an early state, and there will definitely be more updates as we do our research and polish the experience.
• You can access the raid by using our custom NPC found in all starting zones and capitals and close to all MoP instances. A new feature added to this NPC is the option to reset all instance locks (you need to leave the group to use this option).
• We have also made a new NPC to teleport you to a selected boss, so you don't have to kill all the previous bosses. This and the previous raid helper NPC (offering damage, health, healing, and periodic full heal buffs) are spawned at the start of the raid and at a location of each boss.
• Health, melee damage and immunities are not done yet ‒ please do not report issues related to this, as those aspects will change in the future.
• In this or any other raids on MoP PTR, you can now enter MoP raids without a raid group, and you can also enter Heroic difficulty raids without clearing the Normal difficulty first.
• Information for testing specific bosses: Megaera needs to be summoned first by clicking on three bells located in her cave. Ra-den will only spawn after Lei Shen is defeated; you will not find him there otherwise.

We encourage you to report any encountered bugs using TwinHead ‒ general instance bugs and trash related bugs should be reported here, while boss-specific issues are reported in their corresponding pages (via the links in the general report).

I am currently about to enter in as a new grad software engineer in the NYC area and I am relatively new to the credit card journey. Following the credit card template for asking for recommendations:

Hello everyone, literally 5 days ago I started having a problem with Virtual dekstop, when I turned my head, the latency reached 60-90 and usually just 50. I bought a new router (asus rt ax57 with support for wify6 and 160mhz), and changed the tariff ( from 500mbps to 1000mbps) changed the settings, nothing helped. I then decided to see what would happen if I logged in via the steam link, and it worked great. I do not understand what the problem is??? can anyone help me?

I am 42 and working a grueling (10-12 hour day + weekends) job that is impacting my mental and physical health. I grew up poor and, while I know it’s irrational, I’ve always had severe anxiety about money. Wife’s Income: $165K/yr (Gross). This nets out to about $8K/month post-tax. She also has access to health insurance.
Wife’s Retirement Pension: 33% of average highest 3 years of pay (she’s a federal government employee so this is the FERS pension system)
Expenses: We live in a HCOL area and have young children. Our monthly expenses range between $15K - $18K/month.
Questions:

• Are my savings sufficient for me to FIRE?
• If not, what level of income would I need to support our range of expenditures?
• Any advice on how I should be shifting my investment mix should I decide to FIRE?
• For folks who have FIREd, how did you finally build up the courage to make the decision? Any thoughts or advice?

I was considering not making a separate post about this author since there have been great compilations of her sources, but since this sub is going restricted I decided to make one. I hope that is okay! The tl;dr is that Deida's books on relationships and spiritual sexuality are extremely similar to what Mina teaches, and you are better off purchasing them or checking them out from the library.
I had learned of David Deida years ago from a male business mentor, specifically his book "The Way of the Superior Man." I tried to read it, but ultimately it didn't resonate and I put it down. That book does have some great points on stoicism if you can get around them "man" stuff.
Earlier this year, I found that he had written books specifically about relationships and gave them a shot. I was astounded at the similarities between his teachings and what Mina charges thousands of dollars for. She is so bold!
I really enjoy him as a writer. He is funny, insightful, and the books are hot 🔥 He does write from a male perspective and can't speak on female sexuality better than a woman can, but I love what he says about polarity and tapping into the different levels on consciousness, both alone and in a relationship.
Here are some ideas that I am certain Mina directly lifted. I haven't taken her Hypnotic Sex course, so I am curious to hear others weigh in on that. All this is based on her free videos and the 90 day relationship rehab course (I do believe that's the only relationship-focused course I bought). And I am sure I'm forgetting some things!

• The three stages of relationships are very similar to her stages of consciousness. The first stage is when we are thinking only of our own needs, and look to our partner to fulfill those needs (Basic Babe). The second is when we decide we don't need a partner and become overly independent (SAB). I highly recommend Intimate Communion specifically, but Enlightened Sex is also great. I listened to them for free on the Libby app, but I will probably buy them as they are worth revisiting. I'm glad Mina is finally facing some consequences for her plagiarism.

I’m in a pickle and need to delay my medical retirement. I don’t want to challenge my ratings 60/90 but I was told by a source that I can request a formal board (currently being scheduled 4-5 months out) to buy me more time. Then 30 days before my board date I can rescind my formal board request and keep my original ratings. Has anyone done this? Is this true? I need more time to complete IT certs for employment. If I accept my ratings now I’ll be retired in less than 90 days and that’s not enough time

I’m not anti gun. I legally have a licensed firearm. Now that’s out of the way my sister, and her husband weren’t/aren’t, they own multiple firearms, and are Colorado residents.
In a mere few months my sister went from a happy wife, loving mother of two, with a phd in psychology working with special needs children - to insane.
She has gone from being sweet natured the first 35 years on this planet to so manic and delusional and full of rage the only thing I can compare it to is how actors in movies behave when they are possessed by a demon, and the priest is trying to pull it out. Not hyperbolic.
What’s very bad here is she’s convinced her husband wants to kill her. All guns were removed from their home weeks back. Things have continued to escalate - my brother in law, and nieces are living with my parents who moved to Colorado to be near the grandkids.
She’s so manic/paranoid/delusional she did $12,300 in damages to their home. Not factored into that insurance estimate, she threw away everything wardrobe wise tied to her daughters from bows to shoes - she was meticulous. Put it all in the trash, and poured gasoline over everything. Thankfully, whatever reason she didn’t light it - probably, lack of lighter. Then took off in a car with no wallet or ID. Her car was found abandoned in New Mexico with the keys in the ignition. She was picked up by the police 48 hrs later on some random highway, and a seven day psy hold was done.
She is now out.
You all have ZERO idea how hard it is to force psychiatric care - we even found an ad she typed for Craigslist (but didn’t post) looking for a hitman. Police said because it wasn’t posted with a monetary amount it’s not enough of a sign of “grave risk of violence”.
I’ll skip the other insane things she’s done.
She is a threat to others - that’s reality.
She has no psychiatric record in Colorado as the 1001 things she’s done aren’t enough for forced evaluation - you must have solid proof someone is “grave threat of suicide or homicide”.
In Ohio it is very easy to get a gun via private buyer. Out there, Colorado, it’s private sellers have to start background checking in 2025 correct? Currently, private sales can/do take place. Regardless, everything is vague on psychiatric history… a judge has to rule an individual unable to purchase a gun?
My sister is beautiful, poised (well was), and can appear sane long enough to buy a gun. Odds are if this occurs, and she’d have to have cash hidden somewhere she hasn’t used - she will end up in prison for attempted murder or murder.
I sound hyperbolic. Again, I’m not.
Her husband is consumed with emergency full custody/restraining order that states she can’t be anywhere near her daughters.
My 75 year old father asked me to look up Colorado gun laws, but you just had all this stuff hit the floor for a vote. The law doesn’t mean it’s followed. I can’t find what Colorado considers mental health illegibility - and this entire thing is upsetting to even be doing.
Turns out bi polar can develop at any age and turn a loved one into an unrecognizable monster. Pretend this is your sister, and like you she’s in Colorado. How easy will it be for her to get a firearm? Cash. As easy as Ohio?

In some countries you have a working holiday visa, but the US doesn't have one of those. What other options do i have? If i just visit for 90 days as if i'd go on holiday, would i somehow be able to rent a place? I wouldn't wanna stay in a hotel for 3 months lol.
I'd wanna be near a big city. Preferably New York, or something in California. That's just a preference though, i'm open to any suggestions :)

The Brazilian State of Rio Grande do Sul is suffering from unprecedented floods. The international media coverage is lacking, so I'm trying to bring more info there from Brazilian media.
But first, let me tell some facts about the affected area: Rio Grande do Sul is one of Brazil's largest states (by area). With 281,730 km², it's bigger than Colorado or the country of Ecuador. It is home to 10.9 million people.
Now, picture this: the whole state was impacted, 90% of its cities are claiming damages from either the floods or the rain. 618,000 people are now displaced. The water level reached 30 meters (98.4 ft) in some cities. 148 confirmed deaths, 127 missing people so far. The capital, Porto Alegre, has seen water reaching 2,6m (8.5 ft) from the street level. Its International Airport is now closed and will remain for a long time — it's filled with water from the runway to the gates. It's being compared to the Katrina floods.

Millions lost their cars, their furniture, their documents and will have to make repairs to their houses (or demolish it) when the water goes down. Talking about water going down, it's going to take weeks to months for it to go away.
Why did it happen? Basically, a cold air mass came from South but faced a hot air mass just north of Rio Grande do Sul. The water in the hot air mass condensed and it rained 700mm over 15 days (5 months worth of rain). Geography did the rest, with downstream rivers and lakes accumulating water from upstream rivers and flooding. And it's still raining right now, 300mm more rain is expected for the next days. To make matters worse, temperature is going down and it's expected to reach 5°C (41 F) this week — with thousands of displaced people having nothing but the clothes on their back.
I don't even need to say that this rain is linked to climate change. Past floods in the state never reached this level, even the worse ones.

However, Porto Alegre was technically prepared for such events. It has a dike and drainage system that could handle up to 6m of water (relative to the Guaíba lake), more than the current flood (5,3m). Still, there was so much water that pumps started failing, causing more pumps to become overflowed in a cascade effect (it didn't help that the local government ignored some maintenances too).
This is what extreme weather events look like. You can tell yourself that you're safe because the geography of your area is different or that your local government is trustworthy, but ask yourself: are you really sure your city can handle 1,000mm of rain over a couple of days? Can the lake or river next to you handle it without overflowing? Can you reach the next city if all bridges get destroyed? Because extreme rainfalls and hurricanes are becoming more common thanks to global warming, and very few cities in the World are ready for this. The collapse of Rio Grande do Sul is a cautionary tale for the whole World.
Side note: because of the hot air mass, at the same time Rio Grande do Sul flooded, many Brazilian states were suffering with the hottest April/May on record and one of the driest. So that's the World at +1.58 °C, where cities just 500 mi apart are simultaneously suffering from a record flooding and a record dry hot wave.

I disputed a debit transaction on February 16 about a transaction I never received with SoFi. I submitted information they requested by March 1st and no refund yet. Each time I email them, they state they are waiting on the merchant to reply. It will almost be 90 days Thursday. Still haven't heard anything. What should I do at this point?

Hi everyone, fairly new to Nix. I've installed Nix about two months ago and everything worked fine. At least until 8th of May, that's from when my latest system build is. Recently I've wanted to install some package, added it to my configuration.nix and run sudo nixos-rebuild switch (aliased to update) and got this error

So firstly, of course, I tried reverting back to old configuration, which I new was built about a week ago and run update and... it failed with the same error. I've even tried switching to older builds, like month old and running build but it still fails with this error.
I've done some troubleshooting steps:

1. I've tried removing imports from my configuration.nix, the problem stopped after removing home-manager.nix
2. I've tried removing imports in home-manager.nix, but that didn't change anything, since my home-manager.nix itself is very simple this helped me narrow it down just to the home-manager.nix itself, it's not any of it's imports.

So now, what's the problem here ? The system could be built but now can't, the problem seems to be in file that is very basic and worked. Also the missing attribute is in kanshi.nix, I don't have slightest clue what even is kanshi. (I am not installing it anywhere, it's not referenced in my entire config folder.)
Could anyone here figure out what happened and what is going on here ? I've been trying to fix it for like 5 days now and can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated

I have about 90 oz in a day, starting to suspect that’s too much.

Sadly I'm stuck living with a crazy narcissist female due to bad luck and finances and so I've had to endure witnessing some detestable bullshit.
The story starts with the girl abusing her boyfriend until he suicided himself. She has a long history of some of the most cruel treatment of her "ex". The very night he was officially declared dead she went partying and one night after already had a new boyfriend.
This guy didn't give a shit about the dead man and didn't care about maintaining any more respect for him outside what the girl superficially expected.
This guy uses people, rips people off, he has zero empathy, a giant over inflated ego, and worse is just being caught around any of that and having to go through the cringe of his BS.
He always tells you and others "his plans and goals" because ofcoarse it puts him on a pedestal to feel like he's a success. But you seldom ever see him pull off anything he says and outright drop 90% when you expect him to do what he's saying. Then he acts like it never happened, rinse and repeat.
He's the type of guy to pep talk the entire work crew into working all weekend "to get 'er done!" And the first to not show up. He does this regularly.
He went on a tirade all day about this new job hes looking at and accused everyone of being lazy, unmotivated and uncommitted. He talked really big and made a lot of promises only to change his mind the day after.
I broke my leg and the guy has yet to "believe" anything is wrong. He thinks I just skipped work to do drugs despite the fact that I don't do drugs and I'm around him enough that he should know that I don't do drugs. I never got the smallest "are you okay" from the guy.
Funny enough, he nearly cried the day after because his boss wouldn't come pick him up to take him to work. He was entrenched in a ridiculous amount of self pity. He was sniffling so I'm assuming he was holding back some tears. He was saying things like "no one ever helps me" yet my other buddy is basically his fare-free taxi driver and other people are helping him through everything. So, the guy with the broken leg gets no sympathy but a grown ass man that refuses to take pu lic transit and miss work because of it should be pitied on account of his boss wouldn't pick him up.
So, these two have been dating for a few months now and they compliment each other so well. He's apathetic and she's cruel and sadistic. She loves his "status" appeal especially because it's all bullshit. He pretty much just sees her as a sex object and she's so delusional she thinks they're in love. Her bogus and superficial good girlfriend acts work on him only because he doesn't care to see things too deeply and because he's so emotionally detached and she's so delusional she can convince herself she's the best girlfriend ever. Neither one of them have any morals, although the girl pretends to be a paragon of righteousness even though she's pure evil.
They work out because they're both so fake that while he doesn't need to genuinely care about anything, she can pretend to genuinely care and neither of them care to scrutinize the truth of the matter. Meanwhile I have to watch her lie, come up with delusion fabrications, and I have to watch him spout his mouth with bullshit anytime he talks. There's also the fact they love hearing each other bullshit everyone because it's like they get second hand ego boosts from each other.
