Serendipity would have it that in the final stages of editing my manuscript I learn about the Berkley open submission call (thanks to u/cogitoergognome for that, by the way). Nothing like a deadline to focus my efforts! Plus, I've spent the past month or two analyzing and critiquing other people's query letters, and have learned an immense amount, so I want to fulfill my promise and offer up my own work in turn. A few questions I'd like you all to consider:
-Is it advisable for me to pitch my novel as having "picaresque elements"? It's the best descriptor I could come up with, given the novel's inspirations (for example, I would've put Michael Chabon's Gentlemen of the Road as a comp if it wasn't too old). Is picaresque still marketable at this point?
-The most iffy part of the whole query for me is the last blurb paragraph, which I've struggled with. It's mostly there to convey that the novel has no central "antagonist" other than the main characters' own awfulness, and to a lesser extent the banality of the world around them. Do I need to modify anything about this paragraph to get that idea across, or just get rid of it entirely?
-I was considering the idea of mentioning in my bio that I'm on the autism spectrum, but I don't want to make it seem like I'm using that as some kind of gimmick or angle. Is it advantageous or disadvantageous for me to mention it, or does it not actually make much of a difference?

Gera knows better than anyone: in the desert world of Kasura, the only victory is survival. A deformed hunchback enslaved from birth to a subterranean prison-city, only two things have kept him alive: his aptitude for languages, and an alchemical alteration preventing him from speaking any falsehood. Embittered by a lifetime of abuse, his sole desire is a peaceful life on the surface.

A thin sickly ray of light framed Gera as he stood behind the black iron gateway, peering out at the arena. There a gigantic spider, the length of two men end-to-end, devoured the swiftly-liquefying remains of a fighting-man. The spider, nicknamed “Old Hairfinger,” had been concealed in a pit beneath the sands, and its sudden emergence was startling to some, comical to most. A minor diversion at the start of the day’s bouts.
A minute ago, its meal had been “Urvam the Hawk-Snake,” mighty warrior of the canyonlands and would-be revolutionary. A “hero,” some called him.
Such was the fate of all heroes: to be consumed. As if they were never born.
Gera watched, somewhat disinterested. He heard, or felt, rather, the chants of the assembled crowd above, vibrations pulsing through the stone walls. The sun-dwellers from the surface had come down to the Pit, paying their entrance fee with bits of metal or shapestone. There, in the huge alcoves above, they came to see the strongest and most cunning of the undercity satisfy their bloodlust. To fight and, frequently, to perish.
None were there to see Gera, of course. They wouldn’t be. He was only a purpletongue, as imprisoned as the rest of the undercity. He was born a prisoner, and, he expected, would die as one.
He listened to their jeers, delivered in a dozen tongues, all known to him. His knack for languages served him well. Little else did: he was a most unsightly thing, with his misshapen hunched back, his flat nose, his bulbous eyes, his wet, jagged voice, and of course his tongue, deep purple and ever-wriggling.

So I, 23 F and my ex 25 M ended up splitting up over text message 3 months postpartum. He did so while I was at work and the same day I packed up all of mine and my sons belongings and went back to my parents house until I can get on my feet again.

I just started dating my boyfriend a week ago, and we've been friends since September. It's my first time ever dating anyone ever.
He's been nothing but wonderful. Compliments, affection, communication, making sure I'm comfortable with anything (pda, people knowing about our relationship, him joining my friends group at times where he didn't before, ect). He tells me how much he likes me and how wonderful he thinks I am every day.
I even asked him to describe the feeling of liking me to me, and he wrote the sweetest thing ever, like, movie grade.
Here's the thing. I don't think I feel the same way he does. Like, his way of talking about the feeling itself. He says he's always happy when he thinks of me and us together and other stuff like that. I'm very happy when I'm around him of course, but there's been this weird feeling, like me dating him is a mistake, or like, that I don't like him that way, every time I'm alone. It feels like anxiety, but not completely. He's also been really sweet saying cheesy romantic stuff, whilst I've mostly been pragmatic and felt sort of a mental blockage when he tells me these sorts of things.
I think it may be my brain tricking me into believing I don't like him now that we're together (Im a very anxious person and I'm high functioning autistic). I, My Sister, My Mother and My Grandmother live together in a big house. My Father left when i was 2, My Grandpa is alive but has never been in my life and my Grandmas Second Lover who i consider to be my grandpa died in 2011 to Lung Cancer.
So heres what hapened today. Tell me if ive been gaslighted or not but it sure feels like it:
My pet bearded dragon got a wierd lump on her upper lip that she flinches from whenever i touch it so its obviosly painful. I told my mother who said she whoudnt bring her to a vet because shes tired and it costs money. (Mind you ive told her many times in the past 3 months to take her to a vet). I told my grandmother and she just chucked about it and said shes fine and she whoudnt be doing it.
I offered to pay the vet fees and my Sister even offered to pay them but they still refuse.
We argued untill my grandma walked in. We spoke back and forth untill my Grandma insulted me. I insulted her back with a way less bad insult and then she called me a Moron and i called her stupid.
My mother came between us and looked at me and told that i had to stop even tho my grandma started it by insulting me first. Now both are angry at me and my mother told me im scary when im mad (even tho i havent even touched them in 4 Years when ive been mad and last time i did i just grabed my mother by her shoulders gently and said please lissen to me, i havent actually hit anyone in anger for 10+ years and im 21 yet im still too scary i guess) and my mother said i had to think about what i said. I asked what was the wrong thing i said. She dodged the question like 3 times and started to speak about someting else.
When she finaly answeared she said 'Do you think what you said will make things better or change someting?' I said 'I guess not.' (Since me and my grandmas fight end the same way everytime where my mother picks her side and im left on my own to make the whole thing be my fault). I told her 'How did my Grandmother insulting me help?' She said 'You shouldnt insult her and i should respect my elderly.' I said now in anger 'I dont respect her nor you right now and i cant believe what im hearing' she then left to the balcony to smoke like she allways does after these fights.
I was so angered and annoyed but then my Sister came to me and started calming me down and said she agreed me. We talked back and forth till i wasent as angry anymore and i just walked into the bathroom and cooled off there.
I hate these 2 women and how my mother is such a coward to allways take my grandmas side. ( Couple times she has spoken to me later to tell me she agreed with me and that she didint want to fight with her mother. But apearently her son isint off the limits even tho acording to her im scary when mad and when i told her so was Grandma she just said no she isint. So wtf. )
Not to mention my mother told me i ruined her day afterwards. Is this gaslighting? If it is its been hapening since i was a little kid.
I wonder what it takes for them to finaly go and bring her to a vet... they preasured me to get her in the first place. I said i wasent sure if i was responsible enough and that its an exotic pet that needs medical check ups. They told me that someone else was trying to buy her and that this might be my only change so i got her. Yet when i complained to them about that they both looled angry or very annoyed and refused to answear that.
I feel bullied due to my Autism and memory problems causing me to often forget things i or they said wich makes this even more annoying. I allways apologise for these since i see things better that way than us being mad at each other. My grandma even has said to me that if i fought with her like this again she whould leave. My Mother is Scared of her mother clearly but even when our Grandma isint involved she never has said to me she was wrong. For example yesterday she said 'Coffee doesent corrode your teeth.' I called bs and googled and i was correct and coffee is acidic and can corrode your teeth. I told her to admid she was wrong like 5 times and she never did. This was a minor thing but upon reflecting now i dont think she has ever apologised for being wrong ever.
My grandmother if im being honest is a Hypocritical, Fuse-Headed, Short Minded, Self-Apathetic, Hard working old Woman. I love her and i care for her but shes just so infuriating. I often for fun mimic my Sister, Mother and Grandmothers speech to joke around but when my grandma hears me mimic them its okay, but if i mimic her im the bad guy. Worst of all shes mimiced me many times and ive not been offended by it.

Description: This is the epic reveal in fight club and DFV has replaced a lot of the words. In the original scene, if you haven't watched fight club, the main protagonist has put the pieces together to realise that he himself is actually the same person as the other protagonist in the film and it was him alone that accidentally setup a sort of movement against the financial elite. Speculation: Roaring Kitty was the twitter handle and Youtube profile for Keith Gill where he would speculate on the stock because he just loved doing it. DFV was the reddit handle where he is associated to that other sub i can't mention here but you know where i mean. I think that DFV is saying that what started as a fun speculation of the stock became something bigger than himself with his other channel in DFV on reddit. Now the wheels have moved and in the film it ends with the financial institutions being blown up, perhaps something similar metaphorically is already in place right now. It's actually a great analogy from DFV about his situation.

DFV has changed some of the narrators (Red) words in showcase his story of being wrongly accused in 2021 and having the flee out of the spotlight. He talks about pressure and time, he presents a lot of memes he has created over the years and then shows a particular screenshot of one of his streams.
Speculation: This tells DFVs story but also has some juicy parts. I think Red in this is a bit like the reddit crew (us) keeping tabs on his story but DFV is saying to escape like him it takes pressure and time (could be gamma squeeze, could be LEAPS, could be DRS, could be holding and buying, could be ALL of it) but all it takes is time and pressure. The memes he posted i wonder if some of those have found their way into various subs over the last 3 years without any of us knowing it came from DFV. The steam he screenshot has been spoken about a lot this morning but it seems to come from one of his youtube streams when GME last broke $30.

4. ItalianFiesta (CooleeBravo) on Twitter

Their claims, confirmed to be fake news:

1. LakersFanatiic's faked screenshots of twitter DMs with the real EbonyPrince2k24, supposedly showing more CCTV images, claiming that there was "an altercation involving CA" and asking for $800k to an ETH account.
2. norasafeee's claims that they have DMs from CA which totally contradict his public statements and supposedly show he's a liar. Claims to be disgusted with CA, yet does not post the contents of the DMs, which shows us that they neither possess the claimed DMs nor even the ability to fabricate DMs/screenshots. Also a dodgy account due to being clearly a new burner account with a fake name and profile picture of a fake human (AI-generated and typical of bot accounts).
3. The fake Youtube account that copied EP's name and picture from the real EP Twitter account has not posted anything except (late) reposts of EP's Twitter videos, plus one trolly video about Kanye edited from stock footage that is typical of the "spooky" 4chan style imitating Anonymous. Has posted no new information and is not linked to by EP on Twitter. Is not active at the same time as EP on Twitter.
4. ItalianFiesta claims to be an insider in Kendrick's circle. Went on Discord to do an "interview" making claims typical of a pathological liar: fucked all the hot women, is a real hard gangbanger, is a rapper that gets $150k for a feature, while simultaneously being a smart guy who stays incognito so nobody knows who he is, etc. etc.

Beware of fakes, trolls, and attention-seekers.
Don't confuse and conflate information from one source with another. Otherwise, you may keep believing and spreading misinformation from a source after it gets discredited. For example, the claim that "there was an altercation involving CA in the hotel lobby" comes from only the faked DMs, nowhere else, so there's no reason to believe that part anymore. You can't use the faked data to inform your interpretation of the other data.

She's much younger than me and in a relationship, but we worked together quite closely last year and it just happened. I didn't even take it seriously at first until it was full blown thinking about her every single day, day and night. I just loved how it felt being in her company, the only time I felt remotely normal or happy I guess. She's more extrovert than me, and much more confident, but we have common interests and values. It felt like she understood me on a level most people don't.
Anyway, I got another job so I thought it would take care of itself. Hated it there though, and found myself slipping into depression. I quit after a few weeks and returned to the other job. I avoided her for a while when I came back, because she'd messaged me to ask how the new job was going and when I explained how much I was struggling she ignored me. It wasn't unusual for her to ignore my messages, in fact it happened quite often, she'd explain it away by saying she was "busy" and I wouldn't make a big deal out of it but this time it hurt. She'd also regularly make promises she wouldn't keep, plans she wouldn't stick to. But obviously I'd put her on this massive pedestal so I didn't recognise this behaviour for what it was.
Eventually we bumped into eachother and she seemed pleased to see me back. We planned to catch up at some point. Though a few days later I messaged her to say I needed some space and admitted my feelings for her had become too strong. She was okay with this. But I found that we kept bumping into eachother after that, and it was starting to feel awkward, so we knocked that on the head after about a week.
We still hadn't had a proper convo at this point, so I asked if we could meet up on her break one day. She agreed. Instead she chose to spend it with someone else, without telling me. Bear in mind I was on a 12hr shift this day and working flat out, it would have been nice to at least know she'd taken hers so I could take mine. Sure, jealousy was a factor, but it was more the lack of consideration. So when I saw her later that day, probably for the first time in our friendship, I let it be known she'd upset me. She denied that I'd made her uncomfortable by admitting feelings, wasn't very apologetic about it and walked off.
She stopped speaking to me after this, said my reaction was uncalled for. I did threaten to leave, not to make her feel bad but because I genuinely can't stand the feeling of tension at work. It would have been the same with anyone. My efforts to reconnect with her after this failed, she'd walk past me like I didn't exist.
All the while my mental health was plummeting massively, and so a couple of days after Christmas I set out to take my own life. I sent out several goodbye messages to several people that day, hers was pretty long. I went into great detail about how much I loved her and why. Of course never for a second did I think I'd have to face her again after sending this.
Anyway, I didn't get very far in my bid because I got too drunk before I could do anything stupid and was found by a member of the public. Her response to all of this was to cut me off (block me), stop talking to me and not even so much as ask how I was doing when I returned to work. I meanwhile started therapy and a stronger dose of antidepressants which got me to a slightly better place inside my head.
I decided to work around her shifts to make this easier on us both, but this was proving increasingly difficult, I was having to do a really horrible shift pattern. I also found that having to look up her hours and tweak mine to fit still involved me having to think about her, so it wasn't really solving the problem.
I got my line manager to arrange an informal chat, if she was willing which she was. I thought if we could have a heart to heart she might come around. She showed zero warmth to me throughout, and I wasn't getting through it felt like or she was holding back somewhat. I apologised for the upset I caused her that day. She explained that she cut me off because the messages were getting "too much" and her boyfriend wouldn't like it, ignoring the obvious context of me being out of my mind and suicidal. I accepted this anyway and said I didn't really need her number but can we at least try again as work friends, she agreed but only if we take things slow.
A week later, I tried to make the situation better by giving her money. Quite a lot of money. I felt like I'd ruined her Christmas, and I wanted to help her replace those bad memories with some better ones. Her and her boyfriend could go on a nice holiday or whatever, that was my thinking. My intentions were good but it backfired massively, she was totally freaked out by this and stopped talking to me again. The money was handed in to my bosses, so I had to explain myself to them as I sheepishly came to collect it. They were sympathetic.
I tried to respect her wishes and stay out of her way after this, as I heard the fact that I kept giving the money back wound her up. This only happened about twice, and only because it felt like she wasn't properly considering it. She also gave it back through the duty manager at the time instead of directly to me.
Fast forward about two or three weeks, I needed help with a work task. The manager on duty at the time said he could only spare me one person which was her. We approached her, she seemed fine with it. 10 minutes later he comes back, "oh, there's been a change of plan and I need her to do something else, you can have someone else in 2 hours." Naturally I saw through this, so I approached her to confront her about it, to reassure her I just wanted help with something and I wasn't looking to reconcile, but she refused to talk to me. Said her family wouldn't like it - one of her cousins works in the same building and was on shift at the time.
This was probably the second worst moment of my life. Someone I adored with all of my heart had such a low opinion of me they didn't want to talk to me at all, work in close proximity to me, and her family thought I was some kind of monster capable of causing their daughter great harm.
I quit the job there and then and walked out. As I came out, she was stood by the exit with the duty manager talking. He said goodbye, she said nothing, didn't even look at me. I went on a long drive to clear my head, came back to find police at my door concerned for my welfare. After a meeting with my boss the next day I agreed to stay on, but only due to a lack of options. They refused to transfer me to another site, said the situation wasn't serious enough yet.
Since then I have worked around all but one of her shifts but I still think about it constantly. I carry this enormous sadness around with me, guilt and shame, but also this fear that I'm going to bump into her again and how that will feel. I don't want to think about it anymore, so my natural inclination is to want to leave, but the jobs market is poor, mentally I'm not ready and all the friends I have in the world work there and I need them close right now.
How do I get past it? How do I stop feeling so down about someone who couldn't give less of a f--k? It's ridiculous, and yet I'm powerless to do anything about it. Every day is like groundhog day in my head. I know I didn't behave perfectly by any means, the last thing I would ever want to do is hurt her in any way and I did, but losing her feels like punishment enough. Why do I have to suffer daily reminders on top of that? It's just horrible. And I don't see a way out.

It seems to me, that if we made it illegal for an attorney to learn that his client is guilty (and as our example crime for argument's sake we'll use murder) and really did murder the person they are accused of murdering, that that attorney should be required by law to inform the judge on the case that the accused actually committed the crime, or at least admitted to it. And we might say, "But if the accused knows that they are not protected, even in the safety of the attorney's office when admitting what happened, then they'll just lie to their attorneys." Which is certainly true; however, I'd much rather have a criminal who is guilty, and also likely not schooled in the finer points of weaseling out of crimes they actually committed, be told by their attorney precisely how to do this. Lets let the accused/guilty be the one's crafting the lies for the courtroom and jury, ideally for a legally savvy prosecutor to tear apart, not the accused AND the attorney.
And someone might say, "But you just as easily might have lawyers who will be told by their guilty client that they committed the murder, and then choose not to obey the law requiring them to inform the justice system that their client admitted to committing the crime." Which also is true. However, simply making it illegal, and a debar-able offense, would still highly restrict the number of attorney's who would be willing to conceal that they know their client is guilty, and in doing so put their entire career at risk, should this concealment ever be found out.
It seems to me here that the old saying, "If you're innocent then you have nothing to fear," holds true. Any innocent person being accused of a crime they didn't commit would have no fear to tell their attorney nothing less than exactly what had happened. But with attorney-client privilege, we are basically telling guilty people that their odds of making a mockery of our justice system go way up if they admit to the murder to their attorney, and then both put their heads together and try to figure a way to get out of it via loopholes.
My major hesitation on this belief is the raw fact that many legal minds I respect seem to disagree with me on it, though as said, I can't find a compelling reason as to why. CMV!

For some context, my fiancé (m30) and I ( f25) have been together for almost two years. Again the issue arises in my mind ‘How will the church be healthy if the youth is unhealthy?’ The issue can’t be only concentrated on church. For a church to survive, the basic foundation is the youth and for the youth to be saved and attracted the church has to be healthy. In my knowledge it is a ‘Vicious Circle’.

But my understanding says that these concepts are incomplete somewhere to create a bond in reaching the results because today’s youth is attracted towards the unrealistic worldly matters, but has resulted in declination towards the god’s spiritual growth. As the church ministry is the foundation pillar, the main aim is how much measure of commitment is valued and given to achieve the target successfully. In bible, Paul highlights this principle of his personal lifestyle and in his teachings comparing with the example of a soldier or athlete to illustrate the amount of sincerity and efforts. (1 Corinthians 9:24-27), Paul states that “In a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize”. I herewith conclude in a Christian race all runners (ministry, believers, purpose) will fail to get a prize if there is no effort that is commitment from everyone.
Along with the concept of ministry, believer, purpose; effort is also the key concept and it has to be achieved from the youth as well. A healthy youth will gain efforts only when the growth will favour them from within, when the forces of the ministry believers and youth will collide with each other to form a healthy growth.
This will create a mutual relationship between god’s provisional resources and our active involvement in process which is more clearly in Philippians 2:12-13: “Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is god who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose”. This principle is intricate but the application is clear.
If one is to grow towards maturity in Christ then one must cultivate and demonstrate the efforts with passion, Philippians 2:17-18: ” But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you. So you be glad and rejoice with me”.
Therefore the conclusion lies in the above concept, both; effort of the youth along with the work of ministry, believers proves in the healthiness of the church. In the book “Youth At Risk” by Peter Christian Olsen, 2003, he highlights four basic needs which he has clearly created an awareness of the effects that affects the development of youth:
Acceptance – belonging
New beginnings and second chances – forgiveness
Significance – generosity
Freedom – independence
I agree with his confirmation that he examines in deriving the above developmental needs from the provision of the Almighty’s resources as the absence of these needs do intentionally contribute in how they shape the personality, maturity, responsibility and stability of emotions. He emphasizes Christian community in respond to the needs determining that, the resources will be polishing youth through support during the fear and avoid them from destruction. At times the concepts will be foreign, indigestive for youth because unable to realize its importance. Rather the community need not re-interpret or change the language but simplify their thoughts and improve their visionary and understanding by change in structure through a friendly communication by becoming an effective leader to bridge the gap between the church and the youth. Therefore forces and efforts are needed for decision making which is an effective key in respond to ministry believer and purpose for a possibility of a healthy youth to build a healthy church, which will make the church flourish.

Q.1 In what way and sense is Christian religion, faith and church viewed by today’s modern youth?

Youth of today’s modern era is firm on the point stating that inspiration is lacked in religion; they feel that the world is divided through religion and is the major factor which is affecting the growth. A 17-year-old Jude from Kent says confidently that “He does not agree with the church who talks on subject morality” and is “Overfilled with traditionality”.
Youth pick their ideas which suit their taste through various religious beliefs. There are few in bunch who strongly believe, there exist only single religion which has controlled the truth. Young generation refer to perform all activities as per their own desire which in return less importance to the religious belief are being given, which gives birth to the side effects of the conduct.

Q.2 Why do young crowd feel that Christianity is not a ‘happening’ cultural activity?

An 18-year-old Marcus said that he left church when he was 15 because the teachings did not amuse him and it did not interest him of anything as a youth.
The major quest, a struggle for a religion is to impose an exertion of force of involvement in terms of attraction. I usually attend church service wherein I find young ones missing the services. I kept questioning myself that, where the young crowd has disappeared? Surprisingly the young ones have taken charge for the attendance of the church. In this consequence the church should give priority to change its curriculum and its way of presenting the services with new attractive packages for enhancement.

Q.3 Are the young preachers practicing different approaches in Christianity declining. What are your suggestions?

As the attendance of the youth in church has declined, but on the other hand people practicing approaches are increasing in numbers. The following is revealed through one of the youths that more the deepening are the studies of the bible, more a person becomes a hypocrite of the Christian leadership and unintentionally accepts and performs the lifestyle of the clergy right or wrong at times unknowingly. In such case, the practices are affected and become different from those which are to be precise. Seen are still some true Christian youngsters who are different in their attitude and conduct, but in spite of such difference, they are not involved into the immorality and violence activities with other youths. hello! good morning
i've been struggling with something in my first serious relationship with my bf, 25m, and it's distinguishing things that i should bring up to him vs things that's not but still upset me.
like for example (we are ldr) we sleep together on the phone and he leaves to go do something, says brb, and he doesn't call me back or maybe he says or does something that i don't like but i know it's a big deal or it's hard for me to tell because i'm really really sensitive sometimes for the most random things and i get upset about it a lot even tho he apologizes. should i bring it up anyways or how do you guys determine whether or not the issue is serious enough to bring up? it's like sometimes constant small issues like that and i feel bad nitpicking things that really aren't that deep or aren't a big deal. My therapist says i tend to see things in black or white and overreact, and i do sadly because of trauma, so it's hard for me to determine whether or not the things i am upset about are not just all in my head.
I want to add that he does not say this to me (the "it's not that deep" comment i said), this is all my thoughts and he encourages me to be honest with him and he wants to make me happy but I feel bad constantly getting upset over small things that really don't matter.
I guess i don't really refer to the question in my post but how do you guys make the judgement on whether or not something is important enough to bring up or if it's maybe just you overreacting?

(I know this post is probably similar to a lot of other ones, but I'd appreciate some advice)
I've (23M) had a constant struggle with myself and photos. I've heard people say that if you look bad in photos, then you're just unattractive, but I just can't help but think there are some cases where this is not true. I have good periods where I feel decent about myself, even good, and I've even had unsolicited compliments (although so does everyone), but sometimes I just cannot reconcile what I see in pictures vs in real life. I don't even necessarily always think I look great - but just how bad I can look in pictures depresses me to no end. People will tell you to get over it, but nowadays everyone is always taking pictures... online dating (especially as a gay man) REQUIRES good pictures. It's just awful. I'll match with someone, and then they'll want more pictures, but I just can't send anything - especially a front-camera selfie. I've met up with people before, and nobody seems to think I'm a catfish for choosing the pictures that I feel look good, but the fact that I'm so so limited in what I can show really depresses me. And maybe these people just have weird taste? That shouldn't matter in an LTR, but it makes me sad to think of the reduction in my potential pool (already small).
The weirdest thing, is that the bad (majority) pictures and even videos (especially selfies/mac camera ones) often contradict what people say. I've been told I have a square face, even with a 'defined jaw' (lmao - these people weren't joking either) but pictures will give me a round blob with no chin. I'm not exaggerating. I know my chin is small for a guy, but I just can't see how it's anywhere near as bad as how it looks in some selfies. I also have quite prominent eyes (one of my least favourite features), but they don't look too bad in the mirror (in all sorts of lighting), yet in pictures they make me look like a fish. This isn't just ordinary distortion. I also have what I'd say is slightly more asymmetry than average, which is just the icing on the cake. I know that pictures are known to exaggerate some features, or cause distortion, but does anyone know anecdotally of any of their friends for example who actually look so much different in pictures? Or do you think I genuinely look that bad? I find that most people talking about this are often exaggerating, but I promise you I'm not. I've been doing okay recently, and I've been to therapy (before anyone says), but every time I accidentally see myself or have to record myself... As I mentioned before, I'd be really interested in hearing if other people have similar experiences or especially if they know people who look good in real life, but whose pictures (or even videos) might say otherwise. It might sound silly, but this sort of evidence might really help me rationalise things and calm down beyond anything therapy has already achieved for me.
