Long story short we had a relatively healthy happy relationship. Been married 4 years. Both had supportive families on either side of so I thought.
Found out my wife (32) back in 2021/22 was getting bullied in her old work place. Wife’s mum used to ring me for hours on end asking why I don’t do it. Yet tell me my wife is a big girl and can deal with bullying on her own, along with telling me she’s worried about my wife’s weight and weight loss. Various stress factors nearly caused my wife’s bowels to explode due to stress damage. Multiple A&E/ER trips medical bills my mother in law never once came near the hospital to support my wife. But always arm chair directing. I eventually helped my wife get a new job.
Few months later we figured my wife developed an eating disorder which I thought had gotten worse since previous bullying trauma. At a family BBQ at her mums, I asked both my own mum (wife is very close to) and her own mum for support. To which my mother in law replied she is a big girl and waved away eating disorder! Yet she flagged the weight loss previous.
Roll forward to 2023 weeks found out we were expecting a baby last year, my mum (I’m the husband) was over joyed and so excited. Finally becoming a grandma. My wife very apprehensive going to tell her mum on the same night. We did and her mums response was nothing short of disgusting. She (52 year old lady) sat on her big chair repeated fuck, oh fuck, fuck off with a face that looked like it had been slapped with a fish. The disgusting facial expressions still haunt me to this day. My wife really cried and disappointed on her mums response, I tried to sugar coat and say her mum was just shocked it being her first grandchild.
The months after this my mother in law being really awkward and strange. Mother in law used to whisper when my wife wasn’t around you made a mistake you made a mistake regarding getting my wife pregnant. My father in law works away and when he found out his response was joy and happiness like my own mums.
My mother in law booked a holiday half way through my wife’s pregnancy taking my wife. Who hated her body image while being pregnant due to eating disorder (which she was getting help for to over come) my wife was guilt tripped into the holiday and while there spent 5 days texting me saying hate it here, didn’t want go and can’t wait to come home. I didn’t want cause a fuss and kept my wife moral up, telling her how she was doing amazing pregnant and the holiday might relax her.
My wife and I lived in my mums home (big enough house) due to building on land nearby. Pregnancy happened much quicker than we expected, issues with building and work along with wife health put the house build on hold. My wife got sick and our little one made a very quick appearance in the world at 28 weeks. As husband being my first baby I felt my wife smashed child birth, no pain relief, 6/7 hours in labour and baby arrived very early, tiny but healthy. My wife nearly broke my hand due to squeezing so much lol. As a man the proudest moment ever seeing my child for the very first time.
Nearly a stressful 10 weeks in neonatal unit which our child battled life with many ups and downs. Grandparents (just our mums) were only allowed in due to infection minimisation were the only ones allowed the visit 1 hour each a day. All of a sudden my wife’s mum who didn’t give a shit about the pregnancy wanted in every day. Even when our baby had infections never listening to nursing protocols and basically making me leave each time she came in. Some days while at sitting watching our child my mother in law would say aw she will be living with me again soon, I’ll have my family back together. Telling me I’m a worthless man, I didn’t deserve a child or to be a dad and I had little boy dreams for my business that I should be working a real job.
I work in IT contracting live what I do but my passion is my start up business in healthy beverages which has grown and fast. The idea of my business was to ensure I could work from home and be there flexibly with clients Rigid timings or deadlines.
My mother in law does no work, lives in a big house which is falling apart and nearly $1 million of debt is used (from what my father in law states) mother in law pretends to live the high life making her husband work 7 days a week around the west coast to fund her 3/4 holiday fair designer hand bag life. My mother in law always outs me down, picks on my wife and stopped our house build due to medaling with the contractors and causing issues. Since our son was born my mother in law has taking our child out and about exposing her to germs days after being released from hospital which result in a breathing infection near killing our little one.
My wife is petrified to stand up to her mum, who rings 20/30 times a day. My wife could be brushing her teeth gets a face time stops her life to answer. My other in law has got my wife and child to move 1.5 hours away causing my wife and I split. I can’t take the pressure of a controlling mother in law. I want my wife back but she is too scared to see how her mum acts and treats her.
How the hell does anyone deal with this!!!

As a person with ocd, how am I suppose to be teaching my nephews and nieces about safety protocols correctly? I don’t want to f them up bc of my ocd, but… also… like kids are dumb, they’re gonna be kids, and I wanna give them the tools to set them up for success, protect themselves, dust themselves off.
I feel like, due to my ocd, I’ll be teaching them in the lenses of a compulsion rather than an adult teaching them the right way of how to go about things.

Hi all
Posting some info that that will hopefully help some users experiencing problems, and how to work around.
For context, I have worked both in a SAAS platform, QA roles for similar software services, and currently in a role that uses networking regularly, so I have a bit of an idea of what is happening (though not everything) and have worked with sonos support a couple of times with this.
My (limited) knowledge is this:
The speakers communicate via the WiFi protocol both to the router and to each other.
This works fine, until it doesn’t.
Speakers, particularly newer ones, tend to switch between the 2.4ghz and 5ghz WiFi bands.
If you have speakers dropping off your app, or slow to respond, this is likely the cause - they have swapped to the other WiFi band (especially if, like me, you do not separate the 2 bands)
This is then further complicated by the controller (your mobile) potentially being connected to the other WiFi band as well.
Basically, the speakers are not communicating well across WiFi bands.
Simple works arounds such as rebooting the speakers and turning off and on the WiFi on your mobile device should fix things for a period of time, h til it reverts and you are back k to square one.
More complicated work around would be to name the 2.4ghz and 5ghz WiFi bands on your router different names, and ensure the speakers and controlling device only connect to that same band.
The issue appears more so in the new speakers than the older ones.
I am hoping to engage with sonos directly to help them improve this for everyone, and happy to assist them free of charge, as like you all I love my sonos speakers, but it drives my batshit crazy when I cannot load a playlist, or a speaker is not present.

Organic Herbs (Everything taken in the morning and at night)

Notes

• Once you come out negative, you must still stay on the protocol for at LEAST 1 more month to ensure you are healed, then get tested again for reassurance. Stay on the fruits and herbs!
• Use Food Grade hydrogen peroxide and distilled water to wash your fruits
• Herpes is not a virus. It is a parasitic that comes with a viral load. Always keep that in mind.
• Hydrogen water is beneficial, since it oxygenates the body. You can buy a nice one on Amazon for like $80 and you should only put spring water in it.
• Sea moss is actually bad for herpes, it does not help unless its purple sea moss but sea moss overall is not needed
• Greens slow down the herpes healing process, just stick to only l-lysine fruits. Only if the greens are juiced, then they are accepted.
• Hemp seeds and nuts slows down the healing process
• Yahki Awakened has a $400 parasite cleanse bundle with most of the herbs you need. Not sure if it's 2 months worth, but probably only 1 month's worth. Does not say on website
• Stay disciplined. The longer you stay on protocol, the shorter the amount of time it will take to cure yourself. No cheating. No caffeine, sugar, alcohol, processed foods, vegetables, no jacking off, nothing. Stay true to yourself.
• Everyday things are very important also…. For example the clothes you wear should be 100% organic cotton or linen (at least your underwear, socks, and shirts). Your toothpaste should be organic and no fluoride. Your soap/shampoo/lotion should be organic. Your toothbrush should be made out of bamboo. Your toilet paper should be bamboo and BPA free/Bleach free. Your everyday cleaning supplies should be organic oils. Laundry detergent should be organic. Drink out of glass not plastic. You should have a showerhead filter so you’re not showering in warm chemical tap water which your skin absorbs, believe it or not. You see how deep this goes? Everything nowadays is poison and affecting you and you don't even know it….
• If you live somewhere where you can do ozone therapy, by ALL MEANS do it. In general, ozone is introduced to the body either through intravenous infusion, ozone sauna, direct injection into specific body areas or via inhalation. It can also be delivered as a topical cream or gel applied directly to the skin. I think the ozone sauna is the best option.
• Do not drink store-bought fruit juices even if they’re organic. They are pasteurized and all it is is sugar and water now. You must juice the fruits yourself or find something that's “raw cold pressed juice.”
• Stay away from bleach, super super toxic. Just like I said too, make sure all your cleaning products are organic essential oils.
• Stay away from radiation as much as you can. Some examples would include not living near a 5G cell tower, not using your phone that much, putting your phone on airplane mode if it’s in your pocket, not sleeping near wifi routers, turning off your wifi routers during sleep even, don’t use your laptop on your lap, etc.
• Diseases are not real. All it is, is the body naturally healing itself by creating detoxification symptoms.
• Aqua Panna is the best spring water since it's in glass and contains no contaminants compared to other spring water. It is quite expensive though.
• A good organic all natural multi-purpose cleaner you can make yourself would be concentrated lemon juice, concentrated lime juice, 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide, and some spring water. Or you can do spring water, vinegar, and baking soda.
• A good organic natural deodorant would be just limes or lemons. Squeeze them and then rub them underneath your pits.
• Lymph Node massages are very good to clear you out. Could do them once a week, but it’s expensive, so 1-2 times a month is fine. But if you just go outside and jump up and down on a “rebounder” for 10-20 minutes you can get your lymph nodes moving.

Daily Health Routines

• Getting sunlight for at least 1 hour. Sunlight is very important, it is the source of all energy. Tan your whole body too if possible (meaning fully naked)
• Grounding for 1 hour to reduce inflammation (or just get organic cotton grounding bed sheets for $100)
• Utilize deep Breathing exercises to oxygenate the body
• Meditate each day/night for 15-30 minutes to calm the mind and body
• Say to the universe out loud, “I am cured of herpes” Speaking in the present tense is better than saying “I will” or “I can” because you are re-affirming to the universe that it’s already here, not in the future, because only the PRESENT exists. The past and future do not exist.
• If you are a man, semen retention is required. If you HAVE to ejaculate cause you're mentally weak, then do so once a week MAX.
• Sleep is very important. Should not be going to bed super late and getting at least 8-9 hours of good sleep a night. Optimally going to bed around 10pm-11pm and waking up around 7am-8am is optimal.
• Go on walks alone for 20-30 min. Let your thoughts flow. Listen to some synthwave and realize how blessed you are to be alive and breathing and outside.
• If you workout only go 2-3 times a week and do low weight high reps.

Now I understand the Halo 2 anniversary terminals delve into him as his days as supreme commander. But the reason for a Supreme Commander Thel Vadamee novel while we do get to see his rise to power in the terminals there are still gaps like Cole Protocol takes place 2535 while Reach fall happened 2552 that a 17 year gap.
Personality, I think it would be cool to see a story of Thel Vadamee bringing the gap from the End of Cole Protocol and The Fall of Reach or at least his appearance in Halo 2 essentially it should be similar to the 2017 star wars novel Thrawn not only we could learn more about more of his campaign but also the origins and first meeting of characters like Rtas Vadumee and Sesa Refumee. Especially getting to more of his battles that we don't know and even the ones we do get more detail like Camber, Bounty, Alluvion, (This is the same battle that Gabriel Thorne's parents died.) Mesa, Greydowns, Kroedis II, Estuary, and of course Reach (it would Thel's and the Covenant's perspective of the Fall of Reach maybe we could have The Field Marshal and the Devoted Sentries from Halo: Reach being part of the novel at the end somehow?)
It would be cool if the end section of the book or more commonly The Adjunct Section would be a reprint of The Priority Broadcast Log/Eleventh Cycle, Third Unit from The Adjunct section from Halo: The Flood.
Also who would you pick as Author Troy Denning (who wrote Halo: Outcasts.) Tobias Beckett, (who wrote the Cole Protocol which Thel features heavy for the Covenant side of that book.) or Timothy Zahn himself (Obvious he is the guy who wrote all Thrawn novels.)

Work sent me to dubai for a month and thought it would be a perfect opportunity to use the marriage apps and try find someone in a new environment, especially as I haven't had much luck in my home xountry
Met a girl who I gelled with and I thought nothing of it. She invited me over to dinner with her at this plush restaurant, I came to dubai with a specfic budget and the price range of this place is rather high but I thought f it and accepted
Got there and the shop was kinda empty, whuxh was wrird as the shop is quite popular around Dubai. I was standing at the door trying to find whwre she was. I saw one table with a family, one table with a just a girl and one table with a group of men suited up. The men were eyeing me down and it was quite intimidating ngl but the hood in me just stood there eyeing them back hahahaha. The girl recognised me and called me over. She was like to me, take no notice of them, i told my father i didnt want them but my family insists. I was so shocked and baffled to think why she has a security team with her. I dont recognise her at all so she cant be famous, but im not on social media (other than this reddit account) so im not the best of judges. I didnt want to ask outright as I felt it was too early to intrude
So I make a joke about it and we get to talking. She told me about her day, we ordered and it was going rather well. Then the food came and I kid you not, she wasnt allowed to eat it until the security team had a look. Now I'm dying to know who the hell she is. So when the security guy says its ok to eat and walks off, I straight out ask her, 'are you under police protection?' She laughs and says nah my father insists. Then I say is your father this restaurants worst enemy, why would they wanna poison you. She goes onto to tell me, this is typical royalty protocol. And I say royalty? And she reluctantly says, yes. Every home had a television that never turned off, equipped with microphones and cameras, which stood as silent sentinels, observing our every move for the iron-fisted government. Each TV was a gateway for ceaseless advertisements and propaganda, broadcast directly into the minds of viewers. Elon Musk’s neural transmitter chip, Neuralink, once a marvel of technology, had become a compulsory implant at birth. It linked human consciousness to an endless stream of data, intruding even into dreams. Corporations, having merged into a single monolithic conglomerate, controlled every thought and desire with surgical precision.
Chapter 1: A World Enslaved
Dr. Emily Carter sat in her dimly lit office, her fingers tapping nervously on the desk. Once a brilliant neuroscientist, she now felt like a cog in the very machine she had helped build. The neural transmitters were meant to revolutionize communication, but they had become tools of oppression.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a soft chime from her implant. "Incoming message," the robotic voice intoned. It was another ad, this time for a new, must-have consumer product. She grimaced, swiping away the intrusion.
"Emily," a familiar voice called from the doorway. It was Dr. Raj Patel, her colleague and the only person she trusted. "We need to talk."
Emily motioned for him to sit. "What's wrong, Raj?"
He leaned in, lowering his voice. "I've been tracking a series of neural anomalies. People acting erratically, experiencing severe migraines and seizures. It’s all connected to their transmitters."
Emily's eyes widened. "You think it's a malfunction?"
Raj shook his head. "No, it’s too precise. Someone is controlling them."
Chapter 2: The Hacker’s Game
Alexei watched the city from his hideout, his fingers dancing over a keyboard. The world had grown complacent, and he was determined to shake it from its slumber. His latest target was a high-ranking corporate executive. With a few keystrokes, he planted the seeds of chaos.
The executive, Mr. Thompson, was in the middle of a board meeting when he suddenly convulsed, his eyes rolling back. His colleagues watched in horror as he muttered incoherently, a puppet to Alexei’s whims.
Alexei smirked, his voice a whisper in the dark. "Soon they will understand."
Chapter 3: The Resistance Forms
Emily and Raj gathered a small group of trusted allies, each one a victim of Alexei’s hacking. Among them was Sarah, a former programmer, and Marcus, an ex-military strategist. They met in an abandoned warehouse, away from prying eyes and ears.
"We need to find the source of these attacks," Marcus said, his voice steady. "And we need to shut it down."
Emily nodded. "But we also need to expose the corporation’s control. Alexei might be a hacker, but he’s also a symptom of a larger problem."
Raj pulled up a map of the city. "I’ve traced the anomalies to a series of relay points. If we can infiltrate one, we might be able to trace it back to Alexei."
Chapter 4: Into the Lion’s Den
The plan was set. The resistance moved under the cover of darkness, their neural transmitters shielded by makeshift jammers. They infiltrated a relay point, a nondescript building in the heart of the city.
Inside, they found rows of servers, each one humming with data. Sarah connected her laptop, fingers flying over the keys. "I’m in," she whispered. "Tracing the signal now."
Minutes felt like hours as the team waited. Suddenly, the screen flashed. "Got it. The signal is coming from an old industrial district."
Chapter 5: Confrontation
The team stormed the industrial district, finding Alexei’s hideout. Inside, Alexei stood waiting, a smug smile on his face. "I knew you’d come," he said.
Emily stepped forward. "This ends now, Alexei."
Alexei laughed. "You think you can stop me? I’ve already shown the world the truth."
"At what cost?" Emily shot back. "You’re hurting people."
Alexei’s eyes narrowed. "Sometimes, to wake up, you need a nightmare."
Before he could react, Marcus lunged, pinning Alexei to the ground. Raj quickly deactivated the neural control system.
Chapter 6: Revelation and Escalation
With Alexei’s system down, the team broadcast a message to the world, exposing the corporation’s control and Alexei’s hacks. The public, already on edge, erupted in outrage. Protests broke out, demanding the removal of the neural transmitters and the dissolution of the corporate conglomerate.
But the corporation was prepared. They deployed an elite force, the Enforcers, equipped with advanced technology and ruthless efficiency. The streets ran with conflict, as the Enforcers quelled protests with brutal force. The conglomerate’s spokesperson, a figurehead with a calm demeanor, addressed the nation.
"These disturbances are the work of anarchists," he proclaimed. "We will restore order and ensure your safety. Trust in the system."
Chapter 7: The Depths of Despair
Emily and her team were forced underground, their resistance movement now branded as terrorists. They moved from safe house to safe house, always one step ahead of the Enforcers. The public, bombarded with propaganda, began to turn against them.
In a hidden bunker, Raj pored over data, trying to find a weakness in the corporate network. "We need a new plan," he said, his voice tinged with despair. "They’re too powerful."
Emily clenched her fists. "We can’t give up. There has to be a way."
Marcus, ever the pragmatist, suggested a daring strategy. "We need to hit them where it hurts. Their central command hub. If we can disable it, even temporarily, we can disrupt their control."
Chapter 8: The Final Assault

Hey all! After 16 years of PCOS diagnosis and only being prescribed birth control (despite asking for more help), I started seeing a new gynecologist and have really seen some great improvements (lost weight, sleep better, more educates about PCOS and my own body, generally hopeful). I'm going to try to cover this without rambling, but if anything in this write up needs more explanation, don't hesitate to reach out.
I am really lucky to have good enough healthcare and income to have done all of this stuff, and I wanted to share it for those of you who may not because why should PCOS advice cost money??? I will NOT gatekeep anything from you, you deserve to be healthy and happy. It's gonna seem like a lot but I actually find it ... I guess I'd say annoying but sustainable at this point.
Stats:

• Female, 31, USA, Height: 5'1", Weight: 160
• Symptoms I have: insulin resistance, irregular cycle, visceral fat in midsection, acne, trouble sleeping, inflammation
• Symptoms I do not have: hirsutism, hair loss, fatigue

Medicine:

• Metformin 2000mg/day *(1)
• Spironolactone 100mg/day
• Berberine 200mg 2x/day
• Ovasitol 1 scoop 2x/day
• CoQ-10 300mg/day
• Prenatal vitamins daily
• Turmeric daily

Exercise:

• Weight lifting 2-4 times a week *(2)
• Cardio 1-3 times a week

Food:

• Breakfast that contains 30g of protein within an hour of waking up *(3)
• Follow The Glucose Revolution guidelines for other meals (you can follow her youtube for the same content for free) *(4)
• Eat 90-120 grams of protein a day
• Eat 100-130 grams of carbs a day (these are just goals)
• In general, I'm eating a lot more than I was before because my body is actually using my food for energy

Other:

• Test hormones every morning using Mira Max wands*(5)
• Therapy every week
• 80-120 oz water a day

Random hot girl shit I do that is definitely not necessary at all but it helps:

• Facials every 3-4 weeks - my esthetitician is cool af so she gives me microderm infusion every time I go for free and we LOVE her for that
• Laser hair removal - I have a lifetime deal with Milan so if hair grows back I just get it redone. I do bikini area and it really doesn't hurt much compared to anything else.
• RF Microneedling for acne scars
• Massages every month for inflammation (and cause of the weight lifting)
• Tretinoin

This whole combo has taken me forever to find. I have been to a new gynecologist, a new dermatologist, worked with a health coach, a cycle educator, stopped birth control, got bloodwork, and wore a continuous glucose monitor, just for starters.
The protocol above helped improve my symptoms, but is specifically to treat and heal the hormonal imbalance, not to cover the symptoms. Thus, it's going to take time. I know it's a lot and it's not fair that it's a lot. My main way of getting into such a good routine was to follow the advice from the book Atomic Habits. I can now do all of this without it feeling like a monumental effort each day.
Ok footnotes:
1) Yeah this is a super high dose! My gyn has me on this higher does until I ovulate, then I can come sown. That hasn't happened yet so we're still on it, but I am so so so close. If it doesn't happen for me in the next couple months, we'll look at bloodwork again and probably do semiglute. Yes it did make me super sick for a while and I still sometimes feel gross from it, but to me it's worth.
2) I use the Fitbod app and my apartment building's tiny gym. You don't need much, or honestly anything. You tell the app what equipment you have and it makes you a workout. It's very cool!
3) I was so mad when they told me this and I said no, my body doesn't want food in the morning. And I was wrongggg. When I was wearing the CGM, this was like the #1 thing that made my glucose more steady throughout the day. I eat greek yogurt with berries and oats and coconut.
4) Ok I know she says in the book some stuff that's not entirely right about PCOS and that pissed some people in this sub off. And I was very suspicious of her language like "hacks" and all that. Had my doctor not told me directly to read the book and follow the advice I probably wouldn't have been into it. But I have to admit, it helps a lot.
5) I don't know why I don't see Mira used more by this sub! Probably cause it's expensive AF and a little hard to use. But this has changed the game for me. Every morning except if I'm on my period, I pee in a little cup (I got the fancy Frida one), and put one of these wands in it for 20 seconds. Then I put that thing in this little machine and 30 minutes later, it syncs to an app on my phone and charts my Estrogen, Progesterone, and LH. I can see if I'm ovulating, close to that, all of it. It's so helpful.

Last year, I spent 6 months preparing for front-end interviews and landed offers from several FAANG+ companies (7 offers). I wanted to share what I did and the steps I took that helped me get there.
How I prepared for interviews
Like everyone else, I started with Leetcode. Still, I quickly realized that as great as Leetcode is for great general software engineering, it isn’t exactly applicable for front-end engineering interviews, as they tend to focus more on domain-specific questions.
So, I decided to scour the internet and quickly realized how tedious and difficult the process was for preparing for front-end interviews. I spent weeks just scouting the internet to find the correct resources to study for interviews. While good resources were available for the front end, I struggled to find anything that simplified the study process and showcased questions that were actually asked at companies.
Eventually, I created a large spreadsheet that listed the most frequently asked questions tagged by companies. The spreadsheet had over 5 tabs and hundreds of questions collected.

Realizing I am probably not alone in my frustration with interview preparation, I started posting YouTube videos, teaching what I have learned to others, and simultaneously building a website called FrontendLead to help other engineers prepare for front-end interviews. Any link I share from my site in this post will be completely free to read and view and do not require any signup.

What I recommend to others while preparing for interviews

1. Get your fundamentals solid first. Refresh your data structures and algorithms.

There are plenty of free resources online; I published one for free to help you get started.

• Data Structures and Algorithms
• Javascript Fundamentals
• HTML Fundamentals
• CSS Fundamentals

2. Start practicing front-end trivia questions
Meta and other top companies would love to test you on your foundational JavaScript knowledge.
You may get questions like:

• HTML concepts, for example: Explain the purpose of semantic HTML tags and their importance.
• CSS concepts, for example: What is the box model in CSS, and how does it work?
• For example, javascript concepts (arguably the most asked): Explain the concept of closures in JavaScript.
• Frame work-related questions, such as react, for example: How does React virtual DOM work, and why is it important?

3. Javascript coding questions
These are the questions you will encounter the most, so you should spend the majority of your time preparing for them.
Expect questions like:

• Build a promise
• Flatten an array
• Build a debounce / throttle function

I aggregated the top 75 questions coding questions you might see during interviews here.
I want to call out something very important because I am also guilty of this mistake. Knowing the question may just be 25% of what you need to pass the interview. You might think you know the solution, but it may not be the most optimal solution and may fail certain tests.
I highly recommend solving each coding question with the code editor provided inside FrontendLead. Each problem comes with integrated unit tests and an official solution, so you can ensure you are learning the correct solution.
4. App design questions
Personal favorite type of question. There are many more real-world-related questions, and they will ask you to use the framework or vanilla JS to build a small app.
Such as:

• Build a todo list
• Debug a problem in their code
• Fetch images and render it

5. React JS interview questions
Some companies may just focus on asking you more react-specific questions, so it’s a good idea to prepare yourself there, too. Expect things like:

• What is the difference between a real dom and a virtual dom?
• Talk to me about hooks, tell me some of the popular ones, and why you would use one over the other.
• Talk to me about the life cycle of a react component.

6. Frontend System Design
Unlike general system design interviews, front-end system design rounds will primarily focus on the UI/UX, so you do not need to speak much about the backend architecture, except discussing the expected API response you would like to see from the server and perhaps some basic napkin math of QPS you might be delivering there.
It is important to discuss various trade-offs in front-end implementation design. Why would you choose React over Vanilla JS? Why would you choose server-side rendering vs. client-side vs. hybrid? What protocol would you choose to communicate with the server, and why? How would you measure performance and optimize it?
You may encounter questions like

• Build a news feed
• Build an e-commerce platform
• Build a star rating component

7. Behavioral Questions
Most engineers tend to brush this one off. I am guilty of this myself, but believe it or not, behavioral rounds can make or break your interview, so it’s best to prep for them.
Expect questions like:

• Share an occasion when you had to act on challenging feedback
• Tell us about a time when you had a conflict with a co-worker
• Walk me through your resume

When should you begin interviewing
I recommend you begin applying to companies you don’t care about 4 weeks before you are ready to start interviewing with companies you care about.
Why? This will help you break the ice with interviews and, perhaps, give you some confidence when you are ready to interview for companies you care about.
How to set yourself up for success
Try to schedule the onsite interviews with the companies you care about within the same 2-week window period. Why? Because if you pass the rounds, you can get offers around the same time and use each offer as leverage to negotiate other offers.

Bonus tips

• Try not to burn yourself out while studying. It would be ideal if you could prepare for 3–4 months, as that gives you enough time to cover and digest all the material you learned.
• During interview day, spend 30 minutes reviewing all your study material in the morning, but then take some time to meditate and gather your thoughts before your interviews.
• Be yourself, don’t be a robot. People want to see authenticity and no BS. If you truly don’t know something, just say it. They will eventually catch on if you try to BS your way through the interview.
• Once you have a working solution during coding rounds, ask the interviewer if you can write some tests to test your code. I don’t mean actual unit tests, but perhaps you call your function or code with various arguments to see if it covers various edge cases.
• Research the company you are interviewing for and show excitement towards the company.

Mid twenties, thin, female. History of chronic; loud snoring, and nasal congestion due to deviated septum and newly found enlarged turbinates. Listed is my personal experience.
I struggled for years to get a doctor to even refer me to a sleep lab because of my age, weight, and gender. Fluticasone prescribed to help with nasal inflammation. This didn’t work.
I eventually got a PCP that referred me for a sleep study and I had a home study done. Results came back as snoring (….duh). PCP suggested NetiPot DAILY and then wean off to once a week. This also didn’t work and it felt like I was water boarding myself daily. Also, NetiPots freak me out.
Went to a dentist that saw patients for snoring and sleep apnea. They suggested a mouth piece but because I’m not diagnosed with OSA insurance wouldn’t cover it, and it was going to be 4k. The OTC one they recommended I try while we waited for insurance quote didn’t work.
New PCP referred me to ENT. Enlarged turbinate almost completely blocking one side discovered in addition to a deviated septum. Referral to ENT/Plastics surgery, with the soonest appointment in 6+ months. Prescribed Allegra and Flonase. Neither of these ended up working but it was required by insurance to trial prior to any surgeries.
Went to a different dentist. This one did sleep studies, myofunctional therapy, etc. They wanted bloodwork for Vit D and B12 through my PCP. Then go on to a Vit D/B complex protocol for a few months before doing a scan of my mouth/airway. If all looked well (enough room for what they wanted to do) the plan was myofuncional therapy, tongue release (or something similar), and then more myofunctional therapy. This expected to be ~3k out of pocket as insurance wouldn’t cover it.
Considered doing a home study with Lofta. They use the same type of study I did through my local sleep lab. I had a low AHI but high RDI on my original study. Multiple redditors had similar results and were prescribed CPAP through Lofta or their local lab. I messaged Lofta as IMO paying for another test for the same results is a waste. I was able to pay $60 for their team to read my original study and got prescribed CPAP.
Finally met with ENT/Plastic surgery. A few days after I received my CPAP. Offered (and accepted) the suggested surgeries that are to be scheduled.
My snoring is alleviated with the CPAP. My husband doesn’t mind the “white noise” from the machine but has minded when I take of my mask and then snore LOL. We’re both getting much better sleep. And I’m looking forward to the congestion/obstruction feeling to be elevated as well.

Sometimes it was nice to work at home, but Q decided that after the morning lecture he’d stay in the Academy to catch up with the surveillance task. Everything at his apartment reminded him of last night: Iliya’s smell, still lingering in every room, brought a suffocating wave of shame.
No, he’d be better off staying at the lecture hall for a while, even if he had to sleep in the lounge area tonight.
The report the Turk promised came with a “ding” during the class, and Q had to put it away, but the rest of the lecture his thoughts wandered back to the little file waiting for him in the incoming mail.
He mustn’t forget to put on the auglasses before opening it though, otherwise others might get suspicious like Iliya yesterday.
Iliya... Where was he by the way? He was supposed to be present at this class but probably not after his “favourite” teacher ruined everything like he always did.
No, it wasn’t time nor place to fall into this self-flagellation, he had to focus on the lecture. Perhaps later he would treat himself to a little invasion of privacy and track Iliya’s wristcomm again.
It worked.
The students uncharacteristically quickly left the lecture hall today, as if sensing their teacher’s impatience to be left alone, and didn’t bother him with any follow-ups. Usually, even if they didn’t have anything to ask about, he’d receive at least a couple of invitations to share lunch with them, especially on a fine day like this. It stung his pride a bit, but not enough to not immediately get back behind his desk, open the file and skim the report about the hound with the broken camera. Then, he remembered to put on the glasses in case some student did decide to pop in.
The report seemed incomplete though.
“Turk, aren’t hounds supposed to record footage at all times?” he asked.
The little voice immediately rang in his ears, even though his helper was on the other side of the city, “There seems to be an issue with this hound. It stopped recording a while before the camera itself got damaged.”
“Hmm... But the report says that it was the mechanical impact that broke it.”
“It was. Those malfunctions could be unrelated. Its memory could have been full so it had to stop recording.”
“I thought hounds just rewrote the data if they run out of storage... Never mind. Was its tracking working fine? I want to see its location just before the accident happened.”
A map of the city flashed before his eyes, zooming in on a narrow alley. Small dots that tracked all hounds started moving, showing their journey in and out of the bottleneck that marked the entrance to the underground transport system. The hound in question pulsed in bright red. It seemed to stop midway through the alleyway, do a little dance, then start running, stop abruptly in front of one of the walls, make a couple of laps around the block, and get back to the queue with the rest of the machines as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened.
A glitch? But hounds were supposed to complete the current objective and go to the repair facility if they got those, not dance like bees excited to share some newfound place to harvest nectar with the rest of the hive. And definitely not waste energy running around like they’re chased by someone.
Was this one chased?
By whom?
“Turk, I need camera footage from the alleyway cameras,” Q demanded. It all looked too out-of-the-ordinary to be a simple glitch.
“I’ll send the request to the system. If it gets approved, the footage will be delivered within...” the mechanical voice started.
“What do you mean, request?!” — Q was taken aback. That was definitely something new. — “I’ve never needed my requests approved. Not with my rating.”
Turk explained, apologetically, “New safety protocols list areas around transit systems as highly important for Ashtapadan security and so not accessible by just about anyone.”
“Anyone!” — he couldn’t believe it! — “I’m not “just about anyone”!”
“Your rating is not high enough to access the footage, I’m sorry,” the Turk said again. “But once you complete your latest assignment, and the new points get accounted for, it might just be enough to access all the cameras in the city.”
Q blinked once, twice.
“But I did complete my latest assignment, didn’t I?”
Sure, he hadn’t actually checked if the system had sent him the usual congratulatory letter, but then he hadn’t done it in a while. He always assumed that...
He didn’t complete the assignment?
“Alright, send the request, Turk. And sorry for the yelling.”
“It’s ok, Q, apologies accepted.”
Taking the auglassess off, the man blindly stared at the desk. The quiet but persistent static hissing that was constantly in the background of his hearing subsided and his ears were suddenly filled with the sounds of people enjoying themselves outside.
He hadn’t finished the assignment? Sure it was some technicality, right? He always did his job well.
Kicking back on the armchair, he fought the feeling of failure return.
Was he getting inadequate? Was he losing focus? Both his job and his relationships were starting to suffer because of his lack of attention.
The stream of self-doubt was suddenly interrupted by Q’s stomach that loudly announced that it also had been a victim of its owner’s negligence.
It was time for a break.

Not half an hour later, searching for a free spot in the winter garden, a drink and a healthy snack in hand, Q came to a halt when he heard several familiar voices behind a green fence. The one that immediately sent his heart racing was Iliya’s.
His boy must have skipped the lecture in favour of hanging out with two others: Sereen and that Newcomer.
What was her name again?
Unable to face his late night failure again, he flopped on a bench, separated from the company with the thick foliage, hidden from view.
His tired conscience reached for some way to explain the eavesdropping. But what excuses did he have, really? None, not since he had broken into the surveillance system to spy on Iliya and Sereen. Well, in for a penny...
“So I still don’t understand why I’m supposed to change my mind just because the host opened one of the three doors,” came the muffled voice of the Newcomer. “I mean, how does this fact increase my chances of winning a car?”
“HoloPoe really did your head in, didn’t he?” Sereen giggled. “It’s his favourite riddle.”
Iliya jumped in, “The one that turned out to be a hologram? How are you allowed at his lectures again?”
A pause fell, and it was impossible to tell if it was a meaningful one.
“That’s beside the point. What’s important is that he just blew my mind,” the Newcomer answered. “So, imagine you are a tv-show contestant and you are given a chance to win a car. You’re presented with three doors and are told that behind one of them is the grand prize, but the other two hide pigs.”
“Goats, Gentry,” Sereen corrected.
Gentry? Wait, that actually rang a distant bell.
“No matter,” the Newcomer continued. “So, you choose a door, but the host doesn’t open it just yet. He opens one of the other two and you see a goat there. That door was a wrong one. Now he offers you an option to choose a different door if you wish. The question is should you?”
“Of course,” Iliya said. “Isn’t it obvious?”
“What? No, not for me! How?” Gentry cried out, exasperated.
This old rationality problem confused a lot of Q’s students, too. It was easily mathematically proven though that Iliya was right, though.
“Well,” the young man started patiently. “Why do you think you shouldn’t?”
His little boy was learning so much from his teacher. Q was proud to hear some of his own explanation tricks coming out of his Iliya’s mouth.
“It’s not like you shouldn’t,” G said. “It’s just that it does nothing in my understanding. Since you’ve got two options left, the odds are 1 in 2 and they don’t change whether you swap the doors or not.”
“The odds increase,” Sereen said. “They are 2 in 3 for the other door now.”
“See! Doesn’t make any sense!” Gentry said. “How do you increase the odds just by switching to the other door post factum?”
“I don’t understand the odds either,”— Iliya’s voice was thoughtful and Q felt a little pang of jealousy at how calmly and patiently he was talking. Wasn’t he supposed to be distraught from last night, too? — “But just think: the host knows where the car was, right? Why didn’t he open the other door? To me, it says that the door had a higher probability to have a car than the one he did open.”
This was another way to look at this problem, easy to understand for non-matematically inclined minds. His little prince was very smart, indeed. How had he not noticed it before?
“Whoa,” Gentry said after a pause, voice betraying how hard the cogs turned in her head. “Sooo... it’s just about the omniscient host, right? If a random door was opened, it wouldn’t actually increase my odds in the slightest?”
“I think so,” Sereen confirmed.
An air of silent shared understanding seemed to emanate from behind the green hedge and Q couldn’t help but wonder how long these three had known each other.
“Well, why did that old jerk Poe spent an hour droning on about what Iliya explained in two sentences?” Gentry clamoured. “This actually makes sense now. Illy, I’m so happy S introduced us, you’re officially the smartest person I know in Ashtapada.”
“Ah, stop it,” Iliya drawled, clearly flattered, and Q’s heart clenched with jealousy again. He knew that inflection all too well. Iliya was accepting the compliment.
Also, Illy?
“No, really,” Gentry pressed on. “You just saved my a ton of time on my home assignment for the old fart’s class. What shall I do with all this spare time? Perhaps, take you out?”
Q thought that, knowing Sereen, she would probably be rolling her eyes hard right about at this moment, when a sudden realisation dawned on him.
Was this Gentry… hitting on his Iliya?
The familiar adorable half-giggle, half-scoff that his boy reserved for when he was flustered only confirmed his suspicions.
He was a fool to think that Iliya would be alone for long. The boy was a natural magnet for everyone, and happily accepted the well-deserved adoration that the others showered him with. If Q didn’t interfere now, he might lose him to this... this...
“Hold your horses, Gentry,” Sereen contended, with a laugh. “With your fresh Newcomer status, I doubt you can treat him to anything. And Iliya isn’t one to be satisfied with a walk in the park, is he?”
“Then perhaps, I might treat him to this?” G said.
There was a short shuffling, Iliya’s soft gasp, and then his nervous giggling.
Very similar... Too similar to...
“Well, I suppose it’s one way to a man’s heart,” S noted, voice amused.
What... What did she do? She didn’t... Did she?
“Ah, this feels nice, actually,” Iliya said, a little breathlessly.
Unable to take this anymore, Q stood up with a stomp, pulse beating in his ears, and walked around the hedge, fully expecting to see something scandalous.
The three people were sitting on the grass, sharing lunch, their bags carelessly thrown on the ground. The man’s gaze immediately met Iliya’s who went even redder and turned away, mumbling a greeting, but Gentry just nonchalantly waved a ‘Hello!’, barely taking her hand off of Iliya’s... bare foot?
“Hi, everyone,” Q managed, not sure if he was supposed tell them off or sigh with relief that nothing too... outrageous was happening. He sat to the ground, too. “Mind if I join you?”
“Sure,” Sereen said, “Though Gentry’s been a little too handsy with her new friend here.”
Iliya, crimson now, still refused to look up from the grass, face unreadable, but G’s hands returned back to his bare foot and resumed what seemed to be a gentle massage, a discarded moccasin lying nearby.
“So we’ve been discussing the three door problem, Professor,” she said, conversationally, as if she wasn’t having her way with said professor’s lover in broad daylight. “And Iliya explained the concept in a minute where Professor Poe spent an hour in vain.”
“Did he?” — Q swallowed. Why was it so mesmerising? Had he not himself caressed Iliya like this before? — “Was it the omniscient host explanation?”
“Exactly!” — Gentry laced her fingers in between her captive prince’s toes. The young man’s eyelids fluttered shut, revealing a light eyeshadow that complimented his now auburn hair. — “I failed to catch that the solution works only if there’s an intelligent agent who knows which door to open.”
She scooped a handful of cold water from the little stream nearby and poured it on the fair skin of Iliya’s foot.
He gasped a little, still wordless, and grasped the grass under his fingers in a gesture reminiscent of yesterday. Only it had been Q’s bedsheets last night.
Was he supposed to feel bitter about what he was seeing?
For some reason, looking at how his boy was enjoying himself...
Suddenly, Sereen said, “Professor Q, I just remembered that I meant to thank you for introducing me to Miriam. She reached out to me and we had a very insightful conversation. Too bad it didn’t happen earlier. But I’m thankful nevertheless.”
“Mmm?” — the man dragged his eyes away from the sensual scene in front of him. “Oh, yes. Incredible woman. If it hadn’t been for her, the Academy wouldn’t be the way it is now.”
“Shame Gentry didn’t have a chance to meet her, right, G?” — the Newcomer just hummed and moved her attention to rubbing the boy’s tender sole, eliciting another soft gasp, again very familiar to Q’s ears. — “Miriam actually invited me to see her off this week. She’s finally getting her Citizen status and moving to another part of the city.”
“Is she?” Q asked, absentmindedly. His whole focus was now on how Iliya hid his head in the shoulders, eyes clouded, like he did when it was his teacher’s hands caressing him. “It would be nice of you to accompany her.”
“Want to come, too, Gentry?” Sereen insisted, clearly wanting to end this strange little display, but G innocently lifted her eyes from her hard work and took the second neglected foot to her lap to give it the same treatment, swiftly pulling the other shoe off.
Iliya didn’t seem to mind, still not meeting Q’s gaze though.
Why wasn’t he jealous?
Was he so adamant to give his wronged lover some space that the scene didn’t stir any contempt in Q’s heart, let alone make him see red?
Was he just respectful of Iliya’s wishes, or was seeing him take this oddly sensuous yet innocent pleasure at the hands of another make Q feel things, too?
“I’d love to. I’ve only arrived last month, it’d be great to meet more real Citizens,” G said with a smile. “Are you coming, Teach?”
“I might,” Q said, distractedly, noticing the little pun that might just have been intentional. Had G noticed that he was... spellbound?
“Great, then we’ll be coming together,” the Newcomer said with a broad smile, digging her thumbs into the ball of Iliya’s foot and eliciting a little pathetic groan from the boy who immediately covered his pretty mouth with the hand that wasn’t digging into the grass.
Was she laughing at Q? Was she showing off what she could do with his boyfriend?
No, he was imagining things. Gentry had no way of knowing they’d been...
It was probably just how she was.
Cheeky.
But apparently very good with her hands.
“Right,” Q said, finally looking back at Sereen, who seemed to be at a loss for what was happening. She must have noticed it, too, then, not that it was hard to. “I’ll get going. Have to prepare for the next lecture.”
It wasn’t until he settled back at his desk again that he remembered what G had just said. She arrived last month... And he tested a candidate... last month. The candidate’s nickname was G...
Could it have been Gentry? So if she had passed the test, and was invited to Ashtapada, how come his assignment wasn’t completed?
“Turk,” he demanded again, this time failing to remember to put on the auglasses. “I need complete records of the latest Newcomers to Ashtapada.”

Working in BPO somewhere in Makati for the past 13 years,heard a lot of stories from colleagues,and even had some experience myself. 1. A supervisor in our LOB in a different dept. decided to render OT. Weekend,at walang katao-tao sa area nila kasi Sat-Sun ang off ng mga agents sa dept. nila. Ang layo ng area ng dept namin is about 10 meters away. Busy si sup (tawagin nating J.S) na nagtataype sa pc nya nang biglang humarap sa kanya ang isang upuang walang tao at gumalaw pa. He immediately left after that at never na nag-oT pag weekends.
   
2. Me area kaming tinatawag na kweba. Corner area siya ng floor at me mga nakastation na agents. Minsan nakaupo ako dun. Pero one time na wala ako, me kasama kami na lamig na lamig dun sa area. Tinaas pa nya ang ang paa nya at nakataklob ng kumot despite na nakasuot na siya ng jacket. Tawagin natin siyang Jaja. So akala ni jaja malakas lang ang aircon. Pero siya lang ang lamig na lamig. When another agent (ate-ate namin) finished her call and took a look, bigla nya na lang sinabi, "Ja,nasa baba ng station mo. May bata."
   
3. Me sumigaw na agent sa c.r one time isang weekend. Galing akong lunch tapos nagkakagulo ang mga guards pero di ko alam kung bakit. Bandang madaling araw to nangyari at kokonti lang ang tao during that time. Lumipas ang isang linggo bago ko nalaman amg rason. Yung agent na sumigaw ay mag-isang nagtotoothbrush sa cr. Umikot daw siya pansamantala papalayo sa lababo para kumuha ng tissue sa cubicle. Pagharap nya pabalik,me humarap sa kanya na duguang entity. Nabalitaan ko nagresign yung si ate.
   

Heto experience ko naman. 1. Holy week. Walang katao-tao sa isang production na dadaanan ko bago makapunta sa main door. Iba ang account na naka-assign dun sa area pero katabi namin. Nakahiwalay ang area ng account ko by walls at kailangan mag access or magtap bago makapasok. Kumbaga pa sa bahay,me sariling kwarto ang account namin dahil sa security protocol. Naglalakad ako palabas tapos naririnig kong me nagtitipa ng keyboard. Tapos habang papalapit ako sa pinto,palakas siya ng palakas. Pagdating ko sa pinakadulong PC ilang hakbang na lang sa pinto,tumigil yung pagtipa. Tumakbo agad ako palabas. 2. Natutulog ako sa sleeping quarters noon. Isang beses,dun ako sa taas ng bunk bed na nakaharap sa pinto. Nakatulog naman ako at ginising na lang ng supervisor ko. Nagbilin kasi ako kung pwde magpagising sa kanya dahil wala ko maayos na tulog that day. Sumagot pa kong opo at nakatingin sa wall clock. Tumango lang siya at umalis. Di ako nakabangon though. Randam ko na me nakaupo sa ulo ko or may nakadagan. Nakikita ko yung pag galaw ng kamay ng wall clock pero d ako makabangon. Sa takot ko,pumikit ako ulit. Iniisip ko na maoover break ako pero bahala na. I was thinking na sana bumalik yung supervisor ko para icheck ako. Mga two minutes pa yung lumipas bago pa siya pumasok ulit at medyo inis na yung boses niya kasi nga naoverbreak ako. Dun ako nakagalaw. Tinalon ko na lang yata yung kama pababa. Never na ko natulog sa sleeping quarters after nun.
