Walle games

Finished, but was a mixed bag.

2024.06.09 16:56 Leftmost_Cactus Finished, but was a mixed bag.

I just finished Jedi survivor and figured I would share my thoughts even though I’m not gonna be breaking any new ground.
The good: combat looks and feels amazing, like the first game, but the parry timing seems to be a bit different. It seem to want earlier parries than before. After getting the hang of it, your force powers, and honing your stances and perks you actually DO feel like a Jedi. When I was at the ISB base I was roleplaying so hard. Slowly walking through those familiar cold imperial corridors just hacking, throwing, mind controlling, blasting, swashbuckling away while the emergency alarms go off. It was genuinely like being INSIDE of the movies. I pictured obi and qui gon carving their way through, obi wan fighting Vader etc. genuinely of the most BADASS feelings I’ve gotten from a game and I’ve been playing games since doom was on a floppy disc. The child inside me was giddy with joy that I get to live my fantasy of being a Jedi. The sounds of the sabers being drawn and stowed, the sound of connecting and slicing, the blaster noises, the clack of stormtrooper armor. It was spot on just like the original fallen order and it’s a joy to see, hear, and experience. Exploration is great too, but not as good as fallen order. The movement is more or less the same but with some new things that to be honest, are a nice addition but add some…..jank to it.
The bad (just my opinion, please don’t force choke me):
Bode. He sucks as a main villain in my opinion. I think the story would have been MASSIVELY better if they made bode a side villain like Rayvis. I found Dagan MUCH more interesting than bode. Plus I’m gonna be honest, I called it from the moment we were on couruscant, that betrayal was beating you over the head with foreshadowing at every turn. What’s more interesting? Ancient Jedi bent on creating a utopia turning to the dark side due to past perceived betrayals of the council? Or a dad who is v scared of the empire now and so he works for them doing the things that made him scared of them in the first place. Leaving his daughter unattended on a planet he’s never been to in an ancient ruin only to almost kill her twice due to his anger at cal. Bad dad. Also I think it’s BS how cal didn’t sense him as a force user or at least SOMETHING. Jedi have been known to sense friends in trouble from like thousands of light years away. Then this wide boi pops out a red saber like wtf this is a surprise in a bad way.
The technical issues, oh wow this game is CRUSTY sometimes. When it works it’s amazing and a great example of what good games can be. When it’s bad…..woah is it bad, a big example of why games need to bake longer. The amount of glitches I’ve had on this one playthrough has prolly turned me off playing it again ever. Maybe that’s a lie but prolly at least no replays for a long time. I’ve had the game refuse to let me use the blaster button, refuse to let me jump, I’ve had cal get stuck on geometry a TON due to the air dash, I’ve had to restart many times due to enemies not spawning, force abilities just not working. Enemies beating the hell out of me all while Tposing. I’ve lost whole hours of this game due to glitches 4 times. Pop in happens a lot, the way this game does offscreen culling is really bad, it’s visible a lot. T poses galore, invincible enemies, enemies being stuck underground. Calzone just REFUSING to run on a runnable wall and then finally running the opposite way I needed him to. It needs work that will never be done unfortunately.
Aside from glitches, wow this game throws a buttload of enemies at you. You have a ton of options for dealing with them BUT some combos of enemies just eat your lunch. 2 Upgraded probe droids, 2 football player droids, and 2 of those security droids that love to grab and wow, that was so freaking hard. No mind control bc robot, slam doesn’t work for long enough. It was hard. Doable but hard. Some of the enemies have some really bs attacks with insane tracking, I still cannot for the life of me dodge droids charge shots. (I know, git gud, I did I promise.)
Exploration, it’s great but I would have liked smaller maps on more planets as opposed to one massive map on one planet. Three Jedha sized maps I think would have worked better. I was so sick of Koboh by the end.
Overall I think this game is pretty enough to look at, and fun enough to play, that the bad evens out with the good. It’s a great game covered in some crust, and if you can get past the crust it’s a fun time to be had.
Honorable mention:
Skoova stev. I’m upset that I like a character so much that’s essentially an Adam Sandler joke.
Turgle, actually liked this dude, he was funny af.
The whole cantina, it was awesome. Nailed the feel perfectly.
Blaster and cross guard: if these aren’t in another Jedi game I’m gonna be upset. The level of depth the blaster adds is so much fun, I was the space Arizona ranger with the big iron on his hip, and the cross guard is so freaking cool. I roll STR build normally so a big ass green lightsaber brings a tear to my eye in the best, most joyfully nerdy way.

2024.06.09 16:55 Fit_Cartographer5464 League < Wild Rift

League < Wild Rift
Ok so basically i decided to try out wild rift last night and boy was i surprised. EVERYTHING is just so much better than PC league. First of all - RANKS > When you get up to Master you unlock some kind of new Ranked queue (Legendary ranked) with 6 Ranks unseen in league. THIS IS SOLOQ ONLY
Legendary Ranks
Not only that but (personal preference) the old ranks icon are still in the game + MONARCH rank ?
https://preview.redd.it/hsplnvjl4k5d1.png?width=1826&format=png&auto=webp&s=fa1e9d164a449773be39a9231fedd721cdec2008
Secondly - Theres a PVE mode !? For the "new" event Ruination there's a pve gamemode with some kind of Arena augments + Human Hecarim lol. https://youtu.be/yOj1zbL6ltU (pve footage) Arena is also playable in WR so they basically have all PC modes + pve lmao.
GAMEPLAY Well first of all the RIFT is drastically different. the rift is a mix between old rift and new rift, alcove only top, bushes are still in the old positions but the lane are huge. Dragons, Yup they have an ICE dragon? creates a new plant that stuns enemy in the direction you destroy it and creates Taliyah passive (fast around walls) all around the map, oh yeah and you can "spawn" a little monster in the toplane that pushes with you by standing in the alcove ?XD
ITEMS / RUNES > Lethal tempo is still there xdd old items aswell.
CLIENT > Everything is animated, everything is smooth and in great quality (especially the characters models) you have events all the time as well as Clubs/Clans, during champ select you can see what the topplayers are building on your champ and take their build. and so much features that it would take hours to say them all
COMMUNITY > Cant really tell i don't have enough hours into it to tell if the community is Toxic or not, feels like theres some toxicity but hey, writing on phone in the middle of a game is harder than just pressing ENTER xdd
OVERALL > Idk but it feels like being a Wild rift player is hella good, it feels like the dev are really into the game and listen to the community, whereas league pc feels.... underwhelming compared to WR
xdd

2024.06.09 16:51 MrRoeder To the Demons: What is the biggest sweatlord/try-hard-survivor you stumbled across?

No offense, just a describtion for persons, who really want to win this game which is fine. But this question came into my mind when today I experienced probably the most sweatiest Henry-player in the game.
So what are your most sweatiest encounters so far?

2024.06.09 16:50 Scriptico How Much A Pound Cost

I’ve lived to see another Tuesday night
Might as well step outside
Evening chill by my side.
Might smile sadly shake my head at the homeless guy asking if I got a quid
Wish I did mate
I lied.
I’ve got a couple coins in my pocket that I’m saving for the table
So I can push some balls in pockets and prove that I’m able
To better a peer over a cheap game and some beers
Bitter sweet relief the chimes of cheers ring in my ears
Then it’s
Baccy?
Burn?
Blem?
I nod my head and step outside again
The English air as crisp as ever pinching at my skin.
Through the fumes of the smoking area I lock eyes with a sort with brown locks and eyes no lighter
She touches my arm and asks if I’ve got a lighter
I pass it her and watch the spark come and go in an instant.
Cheers.
No worries.
Brief is easier
I don’t need a loss or a win
Don’t need her seeing the scars of sin leaking out from my skin
Yeah brief is sweet
Sound
Probably
I’m not sure
Maybe part of me thinks brief is what deprives me of more
Fuck it.
I’ll still blissfully piss a whole score up the wall
I’ll piss away my youth n all cos after all what’s life for if not for pisstaking and pub crawls
Footy scores, sticky floors and broken toilet doors with handles I ain’t touching.
Several more pints get drained until the pub spits us out again
Stumbling masses spilling out on the streets
Free of shame
In the air I smell the leaves of the Holy Mary Jane
Hit with the lit propane swimming straight into a brother’s brain
I fancy some of that
Got some buds waiting at the gaff
Time to head back but before I do I turn my head back
I see the homeless man staring, wearing his beanie front to back
Then I think of Kendrick
I think about his words on that one track
Anger and shame fill the gaps between my mind’s cracks
And thoughts I thought I’d drowned begin to start coming back
I pause.
Why am I haunted?
Why can’t I shake the feeling that something is watching?
Is it the drink in me sitting bad making a kid feel solemn?
Or is it that a pound cost the same as a dollar.

Hi, my computer is currently not running and i dont know how to fix it. The problem is that my motherbord is not showing any kind of power supply. No leds are on and nothing. I already swaped the power adapter with a new one and the cable too. I mounted the cable direktly into the wall and still nothing. I checked all cable connections between the power adapter and motherbord. Everything was fine. I remounted the gpu and ram. Still Not showing any kind of power…
I dont know what to do anymore. I hope someone can help me fixing my issue.

2024.06.09 16:43 _positivestorm_ Such a toxic player base

So I played some solo queue victim last night before bed, and I load into a match. Im connie, and in the basement Bubba chases me and a Virginia. I go thru a wall gap and Virginia dies. Fast forward, I open fuse, someone gets out, and another player says batterys open. I go over to battery and the virginia says “Im telling Bubba exactly where you are so you wont escape”. Update, I didnt. Then proceeds to call me a “dirty F slur” in the post game lobby. So fun 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

2024.06.09 16:43 Taeyee I Don't Understand The Wuthering Wave Community...

To start off, I'm a Genshin whale and HSR dolphin. Wuthering Wave is a awesome game. It just sad to see people bashing Genshin and others.
The community here is straight up Genshin hater. Genshin can never, free 5* character, ect...
Wuthering Wave hate to be compared to Genshin, but when they do show up, they go all out. 1st day sales of Yinlin beat Clorinde [Genshin] they already claming victory [not even wait for the monthly chart], Devs listen and gives free stuff [because release was buggy/trashy and they only did it to keep player base from leaving; half CN gave up on gane already], I can climb walls faster, ect.
I really like the game, but the community is so negative.
Can't spell Wuthering Wave with a "W". No loser, game is good and has issues. Stop kissing ass. Just my thought.

2024.06.09 16:36 Mike_2620 Medium Specialization Ideas (with a TA focus)

With TA becoming the main ranked mode next season, I was thinking about how medium currently has the least available specialization options. So what do y'all think would be a fun addition that could make for interesting gameplay in TA? (without ruining the other modes lol)
My idea would be a drone that flies in a straight line and pings (or flashes) anyone within close LoS. Can be shot and breaks when it hits a wall or after a short time. Think a straight line Gekko flash for anyone that knows Valorant. This could be useful for retaking space and clearing areas where players might be hiding.
This games lore and style gives a lot of freedom when thinking of new gadgets so I'm interested in hearing what people come up with. Also I better not see anyone say Recon Senses. :)

2024.06.09 16:35 jimmyhaare BMW driver ran over my pet rat and I am broken, should I confront her face to face?

TLDR; Young one ran over my rat
I know this sounds like a fake story but I am genuinely seeking help on this. I'm distraught and not sure what to do.
So, just to clarify, I'm a 27 year old bloke from Limerick and I beg this has absolutely broken me. I work as a plasterer and the few things I enjoy are playing PC games, gym and looking after my pet rat Ronnie. I am a bit of a lonely lad, I haven't ever really had friends in my life and I actually met Big Ron after I saw a magpie (hate the cunts) smacking the ground like a piledriver. I opened my door to shoo him off, and I saw a wounded rat that couldn't move a muscle. I cleaned him up, tended to the wounds and got the lad fixed. I know this sounds silly, but he's been my best mate ever since and we practically do everything together when I am not at work. I'm cooking and I'll be chatting away to Big Ron. I'm gaming and I'm chatting away to Big Ron (named him that because he's HUGE!) I'm lonely, and I'll be chatting away to Big Ron.
Yesterday, I had a particularly stressful encounter with my boss who accused me of being slow which could not be any further from the truth. I'm the fastest, most productive and pragmatic individual in my job and I never ever cause a problem - my manager just genuinely doesn't like me and I'm not really sure why, but this morning on a five minute break I took (which I seldom take) he had a go at me because I hadn't scraped the walls properly which was a stupid thing to say, because I was just taking a break before I got back to it. So he ended up just telling me off, and my colleagues who already think I'm a weirdo were just laughing at me and joking about me getting sacked. So I come home and I'm fairly frustrated, and I open the door and close it.
A few minutes later, I realize something - the cage door containing Ronnie is open.
And at this point, he's only domesticated for six months, which made me realized in utter dread that he was missing so my anxiety went through the roof. I was looking around and before I know it, I hear some lady crash infront of my house and, embarrassingly enough, I figuratively and literally SHIT myself. I went off to the bathroom to clean myself up as I just hear the doorbell being rung loads, and I fucking swear, no word of a lie, I couldn't find my jeans or anything suitable to wear. After what felt like fucking ages I found some jeans, looked out the window, and saw some very young one run into her BMW. Big Ronnie must have ran out the door after I opened it, before getting ran over.
As soon as I came crashing down back to earth, I immediately got my phone out, took a pic of her reg on her piece of shit BMW and saved it. Not only did she damage my wall to fucking bits, she destroyed the one living soul closer to me than any other on this forsaken planet. I am livid. I am devastated. I am lonely again and my mind is racing with so many things. How the fuck is this stupid cow able to get away with this horrific crime and I'm left with my heart in two. I'm so sorry if this seems out the blue, but what do you recommend I do? I have her reg, I am considering hiring a PI to track her down, and give her a piece of my mind but I dunno if I should go further than that. Either way, a wreckoning is coming. I'm fuming. I am so angry. I am so hurt and miss you Big R.

2024.06.09 16:30 Relative-Obscurity I'm blind, and operate an elevator for a living. My passengers keep disappearing.

Last year, when my ten year prison "stint" was finally up, and I re-entered society, I encountered some... obstacles.
Obstacles like.. Lack of upward mobility. Prejudices and stigmas. Wages and earnings lower than the general population. Undesirable and oftentimes dangerous jobs. And lack of protection from wrongful termination.
Not to mention, an already tough job market, and the fact that my parole required that I maintain steady employment, or face re-incarceration.
Which is why, when I finally got a job offer, after six months of aggressive job hunting, I jumped at the opportunity, giving absolutely no fucks as to how I was actually making ends meet.
"Ever operate a freight elevator before?" Mr. Winfred, the manager of "The Cornelius" and my new boss, asked me my first day on the job.
"No, sir." I replied honestly, as I ran my fingers along the doors of the antiquated contraption, the only remaining evidence of the recently renovated luxury building's ancient past.
"Normally these old things aren't used for passengers, but the building's pretentious designers thought it might add a certain charm to its otherwise sterile decor. Which is where you come in." He continued, as I heard him slide open the freight elevator's outside doors...
SLAM!
...Followed by its scissored metal inside doors.
SCREEEECH!
I heard Mr. Winfred step inside and, using my cane, scanned the interior of the rather large elevator, which must have been eight feet by eight feet, and followed him in.
Instantly, my nose was hit with an overpowering, musty scent, like the kind you'd smell in a basement, combined with your grandmother's attic.
He then closed both doors behind us.
SLAM!
SCREEEECH!
"Now this here." Mr Winfred added, taking my hand and placing it on the handle of a lever, "Is how you move the elevator from floor to floor. Up for up. Down for down. You'll hear a click when you reach each floor, which will be helpful for someone like yourself." He said, clearly calling attention to the fact that I'm blind.
Someone like myself? I scoffed internally. You ignorant, entitled piece of shit.
Truth is, I've always had a bit of a short fuse. Which I guess, looking back on it, is what got me into prison in the first place.
But in my ten years of incarceration, I was given tools to combat my anger issues. Tools like reminding myself that it was nothing new. Assholes like him were always dropping unintentional microaggressions. It had been something I'd grown used to, and given my probation, wasn't a battle worth fighting.
"Yes sir." I replied through my teeth, as I begrudgingly swallowed my pride.
"Now, why don't you spend today practicing. Our first residents don't move in until tomorrow."

In just a matter of a week or so, as the doors of "The Cornelius" opened to its new tenants, I learned pretty much everything I needed to know about the job.
Said tenants were rich. Very rich. And most of them acted as such. Entitled. Obnoxious. Holier than thou. Especially given my own social class. But a few of them weren't so bad, and tipped well.
Mr. Winfred's assistant, Jane, was a lovely human being. Patient, kind, thoughtful, understanding. Especially when compared to both the building's uptight residents, and Mr. Winfred himself. It had been years since I had dated, and the very thought of meeting a partner stressed me out to no end, but if I was to find someone, I hoped she'd be like Jane.
The elevator didn't open on the basement level. As I'd learned countless times, it was possible to go there, but the doors simply wouldn't open.
The old freight itself was finicky as fuck. Stop the lever one second too early, or one second too late, and when the doors open, you're halfway between a floor. But eventually, I got used to it, to the point where most of the building's tenants assumed the role of freight operator had always been my job. And when you're good at your service job, and do it with a smile on your face, the tips start flowing.
And so, all was well for the first couple weeks on the job...
...A seemingly refreshing return to normalcy, after ten long years...
...Until...
...The disappearances started happening.

I was just arriving to work one day, when I heard about the first disappearance.
"Have you seen - I mean, have you been in contact with Elizabeth Davis? From room 401?" Mr. Winfred asked, after correcting himself. Something he did often, which continued to annoy me.
"Um." I replied, unsure of where he was going with the question. "Not since yesterday. She got back from work, and I brought her up to the fourth floor. But come to think of it, I don't think she rode the elevator down this morning. Like she usually does."
"Interesting." My boss replied, before continuing. "She disappeared yesterday."
"Disappeared?" I asked.
"Yeah, husband said she never came home last night."
"Hmm. Well I know for certain that I brought her to the fourth floor. Did you check the hallway surveillance footage?"
"Not yet. Unfortunately the building inspector's in today, and I won't have time until tomorrow. Let's hope she just went somewhere, or got lost. In the meantime, keep an eye out - I mean - just, let me know if you hear of anything suspicious."
"Yes sir," I replied, once again resisting the urge to snap on him, before heading for the elevator, where I started the day's shift.
SLAM!
SCREEEECH!
That day, I did my best to do as Mr. Winfred had asked, and listened carefully for any signs of mischief.
But the day went on, business as usual and by the end of the day, I hadn't noticed anything out of the ordinary...
...Except... The only thing of note was a difference in Mr. Lawrence's demeanor. The tenant of room 805, he was a salesman, and acted like one. When I say the man could talk, the man could talk. To a point where whenever he was a passenger in the old freight elevator, despite the long ride from floor one to floor eight, I'd rarely have a chance to get a word in.
But this time... was different. This time, Mr. Lawrence entered the elevator chatting away, just as he always did. But about halfway up, he just... stopped talking. And the thing about my job is, if someone chooses to talk or not talk, it's their decision, and none of my business. So I left him alone, and when we reached the eighth floor, I simply said goodnight. To which, he didn't reply.
Must be going through something. I thought to myself, having been unable to truly get a sense of his composure, without being able to see him, before closing the double doors and heading off to help the next passenger.
SLAM!
SCREEEECH!

Later that night, Mr. Winfred called me into his office, and asked me to take a seat beside his assistant, Jane.
"Mr. Owens. Are you aware of the situation that's going on in the building?" He asked, in an interrogating tone.
"Um... yes, you told me about it yesterday. The disappearance, sir." I replied.
"Disappearances now. Plural." He said sternly.
"But... who else?" I asked.
"Mr. Lawrence."
"What happened to him?"
"Well, to be honest, I was hoping you could tell me. Cause much like Ms.Davis, the last place he was seen was going into your elevator."
"What about the cameras in the hallways?"
"I'm afraid that after reviewing the tapes, after stepping into your elevator, neither Ms. Davis, or Mr Lawrence, ever stepped out."
"But that's... not... possible."
"Mr. Owens. I'm going to give you an opportunity. Is there anything you want to tell me? I know you have a sordid past."
"Mr. Winfred!" Jane interjected, clearly offended by his words, and implications.
"Quiet, Jane." He scolded, before continuing. "Answer the question, Mr. Owens."
I didn't know what to say. I was so shocked, so flustered, by what he was implying, that I simply froze.
"Mr. Owens!" He screamed.
"I... I... don't know!" I cried out, as I heard Jane squirm in her seat. "I'm telling you, the last time I heard from either of them, I took them up to their floors. But I'm-"
"You're what! Blind?"
"Well, yes sir. I don't see what goes on inside the elevator. I just let them on and off."
"Mr. Owens. If they got on your elevator, and never got off, where could they possibly have gone?"
"I... don't... know." I replied, at this point, wanting to grab him by force, demand that he never speak to me that way again, and scream out my innocence. But my next parole appointment was the following week, so once again, all I could do was just bite my tongue.
Mr. Winfred paused for a moment, took a deep breath, and regained his composure.
"Mr. Owens, I could go to the police now. And that would be very bad for someone like you."
Fuck. He's right. I thought to myself, realizing, that if he went to the police, and I was even remotely suspected of what was going on in the building, it was back to prison for me.
"But lucky for you," He continued, "There are things going on in the building that I wouldn't want to bring unwanted attention to. And for that reason, I have decided not to go to the police... yet. But consider this a warning. And know, that I have a repairman coming first thing tomorrow morning to install a security camera inside the freight elevator, so I can see what exactly it is that you're doing in there."
I had know idea how to react to Mr. Winfred's continued accusations. So I simply remained silent.
"Now get out of here and go home! We'll reconvene on this tomorrow." He said dismissively, before Jane walked me out of the room, down the hall, and outside the building, where I planned to return home for the night.

Fifteen minutes later, we were at a bar down the street, where Jane apparently frequented.
"But where could they possibly have gone?" I asked her, my hands trembling at both the thought of people disappearing in the elevator, and that it was happening under my watch.
"Thing is," Jane said, as she finished her beer. "There's something you should know about the building."
""The Cornelius"?"
"No, from before it was called that. It used to be a factory of some kind."
"Is that what Mr. Winfred was talking about when he said that there were things going on in the building? That he didn't want to bring unwanted attention to?"
"Well, yes and no. Yes, in a sense, that Mr. Winfred cut some corners, and rather than fully renovate the entire warehouse, he simply walled off entire sections of the old structure. Like the basement."
"And no?"
"No, in a sense, that even Mr. Winfred doesn't know what's really going on in the elevator. Sure, it'd be easy to pin it on you, especially with your criminal record - no offense... but even he knows that it's probably something... else."
"Something else?"
"See, that's where things get hazy. Because no one knows what exactly went on at the factory, before it became "The Cornelius." But rumors have it... it was laboratory of some kind, and some fucked up shit went on inside there."
"Like what?"
"That, my friend. I don't know. But what I do know is... I better be getting to bed."
"Fair enough. Well, thanks for the drink, and the support." I said with a smile, as we made our way out of the bar.
"Yeah, don't let Mr. Winfred get to you. And try not to worry too much."

Contrary to Jane's suggestion, that night I worried... a lot. About the disappearances, what might be causing them, whatever may have gone on in the factory, and most importantly, about everything getting pinned on me.
I couldn't fall asleep, tossing and turning in bed as my mind raced. And each time I finally passed out, I'd wake up in a panic attack, my heart pounding, short of breath and in a cold sweat.
But it didn't stop there. The uncomfortable feeling of terror and fear, accompanied by the vibrating sensation of adrenaline pumping through my body, remained well into the next morning, when I stepped back into the elevator, terrified by what might be going on inside there.
Please don't leave me alone in this fucking thing. I thought to myself.
And within a matter of minutes, my prayers were answered.
"How goes it?" The surveillance installation worker called out, his cheery disposition contrary to mine.
"Um... not too bad." I replied, lying through my teeth, as he stepped inside.
But after a minute or two of sharing the elevator with him, my fears lessened and my body relaxed, comforted by the positive conversation, and the metallic, clinking sounds of the installation.
Everything's okay. The doors are open. And he's talking. I thought to myself.
But eventually, the man finished installing the camera, and began wrapping up the job.
"Well, that's it! Camera's all installed and running now." He called out. "Let's just take the elevator for a spin and make sure we don't lose the signal."
"Yes, of course." I replied, before reaching for the double doors...
SLAM!
SCREEEECH!
..And moving the lever up.
We started moving.
"Fascinating job, I must say, elevator operator. But I suppose you could say the same for mine."
"Pays the bills." I replied, feigning a chuckle.
If he's here, and he's talking, then I'm safe. I continued to reassure myself.
But a few minutes into our ascent, just like Mr. Lawrence... the man... suddenly stopped talking.
"Alright, looks like it's working fine. We can head back down and-"
SILENCE.
"Hello?" I asked.
But he didn't respond.
Fuck. I thought to myself, realizing that whatever caused Ms. Davis, and Mr. Lawrence, and seemingly now the repairman to disappear, could still be in the elevator with me.
Standing there, shaking, sweat rolling down my brow, I backed myself into the corner of the elevator, as I reached for the lever, pressed it down, and the elevator began to make its descent back to the ground floor.
When I finally reached the lobby...
DING!
I scrambled to open the doors...
SLAM!
SCREEEECH!
...And darted out, gasping for air, expecting to find a safe haven.
But instead, all I heard was the sound of Mr. Winfred's voice. "Where is the repairman?"

A few minutes later, I was once again sitting in Mr. Winfred's office, next to Jane, this time attempting to explain what had happened.
"...And then he stopped talking! Just like Mr. Lawrence."
"You know what, Mr. Owens. I'm tired of your excuses. And now that we have a working camera in the elevator, it's time to find out what's really going on inside there." He threatened, as I heard him clicking away on his computer, clearly reviewing the footage.
"Please do!" I cried out, "I'm telling you, it's not me."
That's when... Mr. Winfred, and Jane, both went silent.
"Hello?" I called out, unable to see what was really going on. Given the fact that my passengers had recently been going silent, the thought crossed my mind that they too had disappeared, but I could still hear their breathing in the room. Breathing, that sounded like it was increasing rapidly...
...Until they broke the silence.
"Oh... my..." Jane said, struggling to catch her breath.
"That can't be. Let me rewind the tape." Mr. Winfred mumbled, the most scared I had ever heard him.
"What is it?" I asked, as they seemingly played back the video.
I would later find out from Jane that the footage would show myself and the repairman in the elevator, as a slithering, grotesque, humanoid figure, suddenly climbed down from the roof of the elevator, wrapped it's slimy arms around the repairman, then somehow hopped back out of the elevator, and pulled the man up with it. Leaving me standing there, completely unaware of what had just happened.
But in that moment, Mr. Winfred must have realized the... complications associated with reporting such a bizarre phenomenon, and instead decided to finally pin it on me.
"Mr. Owens, you shouldn't have done that!" He cried out.
"Mr. Winfred, what are you talking about?" Jane asked, "You and I just watched the same footage."
That's when I heard him drag a file to his computer's trash and delete it.
CRUNCH.
"Stay out of this, Jane. This man has killed three people in the elevator. I knew I shouldn't have hired an ex con!"
"But sir, I didn't-" I tried to reply, before he interrupted.
"Mr. Owens, I'm picking up the phone, and calling the police. I'd suggest you just stay put."
"But Mr. Winfred, I'm telling you, I didn't do anything!"
"Yes, is this 911? I'm the manager of "The Cornelius" and I'd like to report three murders in my building."
"We'd better go." I heard Jane say, as I felt her place her hand on my shoulder.
"And yes, I have reason to believe the killer is our elevator operator, an ex convict, who is sitting right in front of me."
"Come on, let's go!" Jane screamed, as she tugged at my shirt, I hopped up from my seat, and she led me out of the office, down the hall, and into... of all places... the old freight elevator, as she explained to me what she had seen on the surveillance tape.

SLAM!
SCREEEECH!
"Take us to the basement!" Jane called out.
"But the basement is walled off." I replied.
"Just do it!" She insisted, before I moved the lever down and the elevator began to move.
I spent the ride catching my breath, until we finally reached the basement level.
DING!
"Now what?" I asked.
But Jane didn't reply.
"Jane?"
Oh fuck. I thought to myself. The monster.
That's when I turned to the center of the freight elevator, where Jane had been standing, reached out into the unknown...
...And sure enough, felt the cold, slimy, skin of the creature, wrapped around Jane's face, preventing her from making a sound.
Not knowing what else to do, I gripped its disgusting appendages with both hands, and slowly pried it off Jane, as she let out a...
...SCREAM..
...And the monster's arm quickly slithered away, back up through the roof of the freight.
Jane dropped to the ground, coughing violently.
"You okay?" I asked her.
But rather than responding, she simply handed me something...
....I opened my fist, to find a pair of keys.
"The lock above the lever. Unlock it." She instructed, still coughing, as I felt around the lever, found the lock, inserted the key, and unlocked it.
CLICK.
"The doors. They should open now." Jane said, as she stood up, having finally caught her breath.
SCREEEECH!
SLAM!

We arrived in the dark basement to smell the same, musty odor from the freight elevator.
After her eyes adjusted and she scanned our surroundings, Jane informed me that this floor looked nothing like the other eight, newly renovated floors, with their modern feel and minimalistic designs.
Instead, the basement was a window into the building's former self, when it had been a factory. Its walls brick and crumbling, its floors concrete and cracked.
And scattered everywhere, were the dusty remnants of laboratory equipment. Devices, machines, tanks, most of which were destroyed, or disconnected, or both.
"What went on down here?" I asked.
"From the looks of it, something inhumane," Jane said, after she picked up a few tattered pieces of paper from one of the lab stations, and told me what was on it.
"The first page looks like some sort of a diagram, of a man being pumped with chemicals from tanks. And the second, a drawing... of the creature from the elevator. In pencil beside it, someone appears to have labeled it "The Silencer.""
Silencer. I thought to myself, before remembering that the creature seemed to always silence the sounds of its victims, and to have been repulsed by Jane's scream. At the same time, it had never bothered me in the elevator, as I tended to stand there in silence.
But before I could dwell too much on the thought, Jane interrupted.
"If you don't mind my asking. What did you go to prison for in the first place?" She asked.
"It's okay," I said, surprised she had waited this long to ask, before contemplating the best way to explain what had happened. "’Cause of my temper. Some guy was being a dick on the train platform. We got into a scuffle, and he accidentally fell into the tracks."
"Over what? Did he insult you? Your blindness?"
"No, I'm afraid not." I replied, "We were drunk... and arguing over... a basketball game, of all things. He was... my friend."
"Oh my God. I'm so sorry."
"It's okay."
Jane put her hand on my shoulder, and we stood there in silence for a moment...
...Until suddenly, we heard the sound of Mr. Winfred, and the police approaching, as they ran down what must have been a hidden set of stairs from the ground level to the basement.
"Come on, follow me!" Jane called out, as she took me by the hand and led me into what I'd soon discover was a labyrinthian network of old passages, while the police and Mr. Winfred both called out to us.
"This is the police! Put your hands on your head, and turn yourself in!"
"You're trapped, Mr. Owens! Just confess your crimes, and you'll simply go back to jail!"
We continued to run deeper and deeper into the passages, as our pursuers began to close in on us, their footsteps getting closer... and closer... and closer...
...Until suddenly, the sound of their footsteps was replaced by that of...
...SCREAMING...
...And they suddenly went...
...SILENT.
"What the?" Jane whispered.
"The creature." I whispered. "It must be down here."
That's when we hatched a plan.

Having found our way out of the labyrinth and back to the entrance of the laboratory, where we had arrived in the old freight elevator, I found myself standing alone, waiting, as I nervously tapped my cane on the basement floor, Jane having gone off on her own.
That's when I heard Mr. Winfred emerge from the passages, alone, and call out to me.
"Mr. Owens! There's nowhere to run! Even your beloved elevator is gone. You're cornered." He taunted, as I backed towards the elevator and tapped at it with my cane, its doors open, its shaft empty.
"What did you say?" I asked, encouraging him to talk louder.
"What are you, deaf now too?" The ignorant old man snapped back. "I said, you have nowhere to run!"
"I'm sorry, you'll have to forgive me," I said sarcastically, pointing to my ears. "Can you repeat that again?"
That's when Mr. Winfred began approaching and screamed, "You worthless, ex con! I knew I shouldn't have hired you in the first place! And now, you'll go back to where you belong!"
But suddenly...
...Mr. Winfred went SILENT...
...As the creature must have wrapped its slimy tentacles around his face.
That's when I seized the opportunity, ran over to Mr. Winfred, gripped the cold body of the creature, which was indeed wrapped around him, turned, and flung them both behind me, into the hollow elevator shaft...
SLAM!
...Before hitting the "Up" button on the wall, and calling the freight elevator down.
Suddenly, the gears of the elevator above could be heard turning away, and the machine began its quick descent down.
"Mr. Owens, no!" Mr. Winfred cried out, clearly now separated from the creature.
I froze for a moment, as my mind raced back to the night of the tragic accident, when my friend called out to me from the train tracks, and I was unable to save him in time...
....Until I eventually snapped myself out of it, and willed myself to save Mr. Winfred, no matter how evil the asshole's intentions may have been, reaching out my hand out, and pulling him up and out of the elevator, just as the freight car came crash down to the basement level.
SLAM!
CRUNCH!
"RAAAAAAAARRRRR!" The slimy beast cried out, as it was crushed under the old elevator's weight.
DING!
The basement fell SILENT for a moment, until...
SCREEEECH!
SLAM!
...Jane stepped out and said, "Going up?"
But the joke was met was silence. I simply stood there, shaking, as Mr. Winfred did the same, clearly shocked by the events that had just occurred.

A few weeks later, after the authorities had done a full sweep of the basement, and cleared out all traces of the building' old laboratory, I found myself once again back in the manager's office.
"Mr. Owens. This is the last time I'm gonna tell you this!" Jane joked, as I heard her recline back in what was once Mr. Winfred's chair, having been named interim manager since her boss's recent and... ironic... prison sentencing.
"Who's the convict now?" I said with a smile, before making my way out of the office.
"Wait." Jane said, stopping me at the door. "You sure you want to go back to operating the elevator? After all that's happened? Like I said, the doorman job is yours if you want it."
"What's the worst that could happen?" I replied with a smile. "There's another one of those creatures in the building somewhere?"

2024.06.09 16:29 No-Act386 Here my smash bros moveset for lilac

Do I think she have the best chance to join smash bros? No especailly since sonic is around as much I don't like his presentation in smash bros but that doesn't stop me to hope about it, I am planning to do for carol and milla though not neera lee and why PJiggles video on octolinks will explain to you, I am doing it assuming either smash 6 will have the same physics as ultimate or of she join to ultimate deluxe type of deal, no smash 4, melee, brawl and whatnot without further ado:
Lilac will be the second fastest character in the game with a ground mobility of 1.3 times of captain falcon but in order to access it, she to gain enough momentum to pull it off, and she have very high mobility being 0.9 of yoshi's,
Compare to sonic she a far more rushdown based chacter, having a mix up playstyle of kung fu user and a ballerina type of moveset, being a brawler that have some swordie esque gameplay with her generally disjointed hitboxes which while slower than the avrage brawler make up for high damage without sacrifice too much speed and range.
Her main strengths come from her combo game, high mobility and balanced air physics, great recovery, and among the best shield pressures in the game.
Her main weaknesses are her survivability being the 6th lightest character in the game, mid air commands grabs can make her time harder, and while she not lacking in out of shield options from front and above behind is a different story with pancaking since her back air is somewhat narrow.
She will excel against charactera who have poor disadventage, lackluster recovery or short range like wolf, bayonetta, byleth, greninja, terry, and young link to name a few, and will struggle against characters who can stand up against her reach and speed like mythra, cloud, roy and meta knight with by far her worst matchup is sora for having, really most of the tools to counter her gameplay.
She have two jumps and would have the ability to wall jump.
Gimmicks:
1.Lilac her an energy meter that have 10 ticks to let the player know their state of how much they can use her specials, besides parried down special all of her specials are rely on the meter with neutral B can be used for 5 seconds, side B 10 times, up B will drain all if you allow it to get fully though you have a way to cancel before it all drained, and 2 times for down B.
2.lilac have a special technique called the parry jump or PJ for short, after parrying an attack she can jump while carrying the I frames of the parry allow her mix up to break out of disatventage and overall being less predictable with the main weakness it require a timing of 4 frames during a parry so you need to be ready, she can also cancel the PJ for another thing like a double jump, an air dodge, and attacking but she will lose the I frames in the process of choosing one of those options.

2024.06.09 16:27 RaddKx MnK/Controller/Desync/Ranked/Tournament/Server/Netcode? whats the futur of it ?

Hello everyone. Before starting this post, I want to clarify that I would like the comments to be as serious as this post, in order to have a real constructive debate on the subject.
I would like to talk about the confrontation between MnK and controller players within Xdefiant.
We all agree that the netcode in the game is currently more than questionable, but I want to raise a point that needs reflection.
As mentioned above, I am an MnK player and I play crossplay in all games when it is available, and I hold no prejudice against controller players or even MnK players. So my question is purely for reflection.
For those who closely follow the topic or even esports, MnK players have more comfort in movements, long-range shooting, and precision (flicking), while controller players have more consistency in aim via AA at close and mid-range (because after a certain range, AA disengages).
Several people who have tested it observe a kind of bullet magnetism when they plug in their controller, which allows them to kill more people, giving the sensation of dying behind a wall.
I notice a lot of desync in crossplay, whether it's deaths behind walls, spiders not appearing on the screen, air control strafes that sometimes make no sense to the point of not being able to duel the player, or taking damage even before seeing the player. However, when I disable crossplay and play Only MnK, even though AA is not present, I notice almost no bugs, to the point of playing a completely different game: all the spiders are visible, escapes are possible, desyncs are rare, you can even bait a phantom ulti and kill him without dying while being outside his ult.
So my question is as follows: apart from pure netcode issues, do you think the game has an incompatibility with crossplay? Or even with peripherals? As if we were talking about a console game ported to PC, which could be a much harder problem to fix than netcode?
Furthermore, for MnK players, I scrim and participate in tournaments against EU controller players, some of whom are top players. For your information, ranked matches will have crossplay enabled and it will be impossible to play without it. What I mean by this is that the desyncs I notice in crossplay, after reviewing my VODs, show that controllers playing ACR in close range have a TTK similar to a Vector after analyzing it with a timer, despite a similar ping between the player and their opponent.
Thank you in advance for contributing to the debate.

2024.06.09 16:22 Croue Outlaw Sharpshooter in The Pit boss tip

tl;dr: You can dodge the fireball spread mechanic by standing on the inside of the "C" shape they are in.
I've seen a lot of people post about the Outlaw Sharpshooter boss being overtuned but the main problem mechanic it has isn't very well telegraphed or intuitive. The shadow boss casting the cone of small fireballs is essentially the only dangerous mechanic in the fight and will almost always one-shot you if it hits you. However, that's because you already failed the mechanic before it hit you.
First, you can see where the shadow boss will be spawning based on the flaming pentagram that appears on the ground at various times. If you know it's going to be the inquisitor or just aren't sure, be close enough to it so you can react when you see what the mechanic is.
Second, the shadow boss will create a spread of fireballs in a C shape. The outer side of the C is the safe side:
Safe > C < Unsafe
The fireballs will always launch towards the reverse direction they appear in, or the "inside" of the C. If you are outside the C, you are safe.
Third, if you are in the unsafe side of the spread already but are close enough, you can run through and eat the fireballs BEFORE they launch for a fairly tolerable amount of damage, even multiple of them.
The fireballs do more damage the further they have traveled or depending on the speed they are traveling (not really clear on this, I just know if they have been launched and are going full speed you will almost always die), so you want to prioritize not being in the danger area firstly and then eating one or two if you are on the unsafe side instead and are able to.
Every other mechanic in the fight is able to be failed without being one-shot and generally shouldn't be an issue for more mobile classes. I don't play Sorc or Necro enough to know if there is more nuance for them with it, but I would guess the fireball cone mechanic is still the only thing actually deadly in the fight.
Additionally, later on in a fight you will definitely have to spend time just dodging mechanics instead of only DPSing the boss. If the boss teleports to a weird spot or against a wall, it's usually better to move to a safer location and let the boss move into the open again. This applies to any boss in The Pit essentially, as the lower their health is the more AOEs the game will spam at you, and it's better to spent 10 seconds dodging and recuperating than getting knocked into a tornado puddle and instantly dying.
Context: I'm new to the game, started playing 6 or 7 days ago and so far reached Pit 73, so I don't know if this is already widely known information but I assume it's not based on the number of posts I've seen here about this boss. I've killed the Outlaw Sharpshooter on tier 67 multiple times with both whirlwind dust devil barb (don't do this, lol) and thorns barb with ~35k life which I would assume is probably an average or even low amount of life for this and it's probably doable with less as long as you are paying attention and properly dodging mechanics. Almost nothing in the fight can actually hit you except the boss's normal auto attacks.

2024.06.09 16:21 OutFoxedU1988 Horse power isn't for girls

So I played this racing game with my hubby. His passion is being a grease monkey and gets excited by anything with enough horse power to just haul ass. I don't care for grease monkeying around, I don't care much for smelling like used motor oil, transmission fluid, dirt and sweat All at once either. That's what I have hubby for. So I was playing whatever racing he plays and I've come away from playing this racing game with him with like 4 out of 5:straight wins and a huge crush on what I thought was some new model of mustang but after hitting the in F.Y.I and having a short conversation with hubby. I'm now enlightened that it wasn't a mustang; but in fact what I have come away from a dang racing game with a crush a Shelby super snake. Of course she's a red head without white racing strips. The racing stripes reminds me of chrome or that hunk of junk that the county jails like to stick on the wall above the sink in the cells. The racing stripes color is called magnetic and I think u can see ur blurred and distorted reflection in the magnetic stripes that look good with red body paint. I told my husband I want one of these right. He was like u better be kidding me bc that's a new Shelby super snake with the big block....yada yada yada. So I flipped over a few cars and stopped on the exorcist by Hennessy in kryptonite or krypton green. My hubby said "thats more expensive than the Shelby in reality. Why u just like an equinox or a Cruz or a fiesta or maxima or something that is more suitable for lady's. I was like "excuse me! WTF do u mean suitable for lady's. Since when have u known me to be lady like in the least while ur all trying to say horse power is just for silly boys. Unless u meant something less pricey is what u meant by lady's. and darling husband it's ur lucky day. He asked "why is it so lucky." It's lucky for u I don't got a Shelby super snake right cuz I'd probably run u over. Maybe just run over ur or something but I'd still probably run u sexist shovanist ass over. Would be suitable for a lady to do? 🙊🙉🙈🤬🤬🤬🏎️🏎️🏎️🏎️

2024.06.09 16:20 TheWingedBadger A beginners guide to fishing the Isle of Man

Take what I have to say with a pinch of salt, I'm new to fishing and I've recently started fishing with lures after moving to the Isle of Man so I wanted to share my perspective from a total beginner.
My only fishing experience is carp and course fishing with my dad 17+ years ago, so I'm self/YouTube teaching myself everything from scratch from gear to knots to finding spots.
Started with a Leeda telescopic spinning rod that I actually found in the shed when we bought our house, the cheapest Shimano reel I could find (size 4000 Catana and fx) some 20/30lb braid, 20lb fluorocarbon leader and some multipacks of different types of spinners and lures. Upgraded the rod as it literally fell to bits after half a dozen sessions. Now I'm using an Ugly Stik GX2 10" 20-80G and a cheap shakespeare predator telescopic to run traces with. Bought a kayak last year and have just got a 4" ugly stik kayak rod so when the weather gets better I'll be giving that a try as well.
I live in Foxdale and work South, so for now my adventures are keeping me Peel/Douglas and south but I'll venture north eventually.
I like to pack light and keep the gear in the back of the car at nearly all times for quick sessions whenever I can. Rod and reel, lures, knife, pliers bucket, Go.
Thought I'd share some of my learning experiences and thoughts from the last few months where I've caught a few dozen Pollock and Mackerel, and a few Wrasse.
Port Erin Breakwater
Callig and Mackerel Galore, my most common fishing spot with about a 70% success rate, close to work and I can usually get 45mins solid fishing on my lunch break. Good size mackerel from early May onwards, Callig/Pollock as well in all shapes and sizes. Fished now at nearly all states of tide and I'd say it fishes slightly better at low tide however don't be dissuaded from having a go anytime.
Seaward of the breakwater for me seems slightly less productive and far snaggier however it seems the more popular side for most folks. I've only caught a couple of times this side and it seems like the 45° out from the breakwater is significantly less snaggy than the rest of it, you just need to grab a spot right on the corner.
My preference is the internal side, go down the steps as far as the tide allows and cast towards the Bouys or as far alongside the breakwater as you can. Tried all sorts of retrieves I usually end up with a steady draw and a few twitches and the fish are closer in than you'd think, several occasions I've seen a Callig come up out of the kelp and rocks to strike the lure more or less at my feet
Looks to me to be an ideal spot for Wrasse and I commonly hear tell of Conger in the remnants of the Old Breakwater. These will have to wait for a time in the future when I've gotten myself a bit of weedless/float fishing tackle.
As you walk down the concrete to the steps over the chain on the right hand side there looks to be a deeper gully between the harbour wall and the remains of a second smaller jetty extending out in the same direction as the steps (you can just see this on Google maps as a darker shadow, see attached photo) looks to me to be a prime place to float fish but it's THICK with kelp and sea grasses in the bottom so I wouldn't recommend spinning lures in here, it'd get very expensive on tackle.
Port Erin Jetty
Only fished here once, first cast, bad snag, lost lure. I didn't have anymore leader or swivels with me so I gave up. Going off that brief experience it might not be the best for spinning lures, I'll try again with Weedless/Float fishing tackle in the near future, part of this pier gets covered by the tide so beware. A good cast with a heavier lure could probably get to the foot of the lifeboat station or towards the Raglan Pier.
Port St Mary Breakwater
Heard lots of hype about this one and it's only a hundred yards from work, tried half a dozen times and blanked every time. Inside the wall, off the end, over the back, high tide, low tide, mid tide, slow tide. Nothing. The only birds in the area are gulls and they never seem to work the water for food, very very rarely see any baitfish/sand eels or Seals in the harbour. To me the waters in PSM bay feel dead, others may disagree but I'm on the waterfront for work Monday to Friday and this has been my experience.
I've been for a chat with people I've seen casting from the breakwater and they always seem to be blanking and have tales of the golden days of PSM fishing that seem a distant memory from when the scallop factories dumped the shells over the side. Perhaps it's me, maybe it's not a lure spot, or I might have just been unlucky. Due to its convenient location I shall persevere and I'm sure I'll eventually pull one out.
I'll be going here soon to try freelining and dropshotting, a few people locally have recommended trying this here with the little green crabs or some rag worm so when I've a few hours I'll be down and I'll update.
Port St Mary Inner breakwater protects the bit of the harbour that goes dry at low tide, I've tried twice here casting out in an arc into the inner and main harbour and not even had a knock. Special mention for the inner harbour as a place to collect bait at low tide, lovely easy to dig sand riddled with ragworm piles. Fella from work has claimed to have seen half a dozen Mullet in this inner harbour (Mid May) and we've checked a few times since but he's the only one to have seen them.
Port St Mary Rocks
So I tried this place on a whim one afternoon, drove past the breakwater and the Anchor Memorial and there's a little car park, follow the path and steps down and the rocks are easily accessible at all states of tide.
I got here 2 hours before high tide climbed out on the rocks as far out as I could get and had a quick spin, 32g blue and silver spinner. Water was a lot shallower than I thought it would be so I was more or less dragging the lures across the rocks close in. Never the less within a half a dozen casts 2 beautiful Ballan Wrasse hit the lure. Had the cut the session short unfortunately because I was on the skive from work but I'm definitely going to revisit this spot, had a couple people say it's unusual to snag Wrasse on a lure so maybe it was a fluke.
There's some deep spots of water here between outcroppings of rock and I think certain spots have potential especially at low tide when you can walk a fair distance out. Lots of crab and lobster pot bouys around here in the deep spots so it's probably a rocky mess on the bottom, float fishing, jigs or rotten bottom rigs for the deeper stuff I'd say.
Fleshwick Bay
Beautiful spot down here, remote and silent. Peaceful. Unless you're a mountain goat this is a strictly hightide +/-2hrs spot, park up follow the path to the right up and down onto the flattish rock that sticks out. Mind how you go. The high point looks like it could be slippy and it's a super narrow game trail.
Lovely crystal clear water when it's calm and plenty of baitfish in the kelp, cast tight up against the rocks or out into the centre and you shouldn't struggle to pull out Callig, Mackerel or Coalies.
Looks an ideal spot to fish from a small boat/kayak and that's something I'll definitely be doing in the summer.
Peel Breakwater
The "famous" Peel Breakwater, recommended by everyone and their dog for beginner anglers... However... Seems like the golden days are long gone.
The local fish factories have been banned from tipping their offal off of peel head, for better or worse I couldn't say. The pristine waters and white sands of Fenella Beach are a byproduct of the tonnes of king and queen scallop shells dumped off the back and in the past have apparently been an amazing food source for droves of fish. Fish stocks lead to Seals, of which Peel hosts plenty. The lack of food dumps and plethora of seals seem to have affected the stocks and nowadays people seem to blank more often than they catch here.
I've tried a rake of times here now and never caught, one memorable trip out saw ~18 fellow anglers off the back wall and off the end, a drove of feathers and lures flying out for 3+ hours and I saw a grand total of 2 mackerel pulled out.
Maybe in the summer it'll come a little better here but only time will tell, might be a good spot for freelining I'll give it a shot when I've figured it out.
Peel Castle Rear Rocks
Tried here recently, had a few hours to sneak out but the tide and weather was against me and I blanked.
Lots of movement in the water, loads of oxygenation around the rocks. LOTS of deep water and gullys in and around these rocks, pick your spot and away you go. I've got much higher hopes for catching back here than I do from the nearby breakwater despite it being a much quieter spot.
Might be better suited for LRF gear but I'm going to persevere with the spinning rig I'll update when I land something here.
Niarbyl
Just the one session here so far, nice evening out wife and one of the dogs had a good wander around while I tried to sniff out a few marks. We were a few hours before high tide so I stumbled over the shoreline hoping to get out onto the rock 'tail' didn't have any waders on however so. I just got out as far as I could on the shore.
Didn't have anything from this spot and I couldn't seem to cast far enough to get past the thick weed close in, I could see a bunch of diving ducks working a bit further out so I still had hope. I retreated up the hill towards the cafe and down the 'path' next to the bench, not quite mountain goat territory but be careful if the ground isn't dry it's a long slide or fall onto very unforgiving pointy rock. Following this trail you can get down and much further out than the beach, plenty of likely looking marks if you wanted to follow the rocks around further.
Nice flat point to stand and cast and really sheltered from the elements for a rougher weather session down at the bottom. Very deep water right at your feet, if I'd had a second rod with me I'd have dropped a 2/3 hook flapper rig, I grabbed a handful of sand and pebbles off the beach and it had 20+ different types of sea snail/shelled invertebrate shells in it, any sort of limpet/snail/crab would be ideal bait here as it's naturally rich with them and they are easy to snag off the rocks anyway.
Alas I only had my spinning rod and a couple of lures with me and with the wife and puppy getting impatient I wouldn't have had time to wait anyway. 10 mins later I managed to land a nice sized Callig, nice fight on it with the deep water at my feet, they do love to dive.
Marks yet to try;
Port Erin Bradda Rocks
potentially mountain goat territory so it might be better attempted from the kayak but it's been mentioned by a few locals. Supposedly larger Callig than the breakwater on the opposite side and some Conger regularly pulled out.
The Sound
Heard good things about a couple of marks down there. Just waiting for a good day where I've nothing planned and I can get away for a good session.
Langness, Fort Island
Walked the dogs round here plenty of times and seems like it'd be good it high tide, lots of rocks and deep water. I'll need to learn to set up a rotten bottom rig for here looks like it's be expensive on lures. The very protected bay seems like an ideal place to launch the kayak for a session.
Scarlet Point
Came down for an explore at low tide a few weeks back, the exposed rocks were a dream for limpet and crab collecting for bait, when the tides in this shallow spot would be great for Wrasse and Conger to my inexperienced eyes. The "Stack" looks a good place for float and jig deep water fishing and I've heard good things about callid and Coalies here.
Battery Pier Douglas
Been for a walk down and had a chat to a couple anglers here, saw a couple bull huss come out and heard tales of mackerel and Callig
Port Soderick
Looks likely for some rock marks and a trip or 2 on the kayak
Kirk Micheal, Ballaugh beaches
Heard of Bass coming out on these beaches, my next challenge I hope. Going to do some research into lures and techniques and hopefully catch a bass this year. When I'm properly equipped I'm planning on walking a few miles up and down here and just fish my way up and down to scout out some spots.
Point of Ayre
Looks a good spot for Bass, Callig, Mackerel the usual. Probably hindered by the giant colony of seals that reside here but probably a great walk out casting as you go.
Ramsey
I've seen a fishing competition on the north beach but they seemed to use baitcasters and gear I don't yet have. High tide from the 2 lighthouses at the entrance to the inner harbour will probably give results. Mullet spotted in inner harbour. Kayak to the legs of the Queens Pier might be a worthwhile trip
Maughold
Lots of likely looking rocky marks around here, only walked round once so I need to properly explore.
Laxey
I've never really looked around Laxey beach with an eye to fishing, very pebbly beach with a huge tidal movements, enough depth to cast from the beach at high tide but it's a very popular beach for people and dogs swimming. There looks to be a path over the hill to the less accessible outer lighthouse and looks like some nice deep water with some structure over the outside wall.
Castletown
Few marks in and around the harbour that are mentioned in the other guide, the lighthouse extends out into what looks like some real nice deep water.
As I said, I'm new to all this and I've struggled to find advice/guidance outside of locals telling lies about fish they haven't caught and vague posts online. I'm hoping this could be helpful to any new starters and I'll be returning to update as I do a bit more.
Any help/advice/guidance for a new starter would be appreciated, thanks all and tight lines.

2024.06.09 16:09 VegetableFriendly686 Green Flag sa mga hookups 🥵🔥

For some reason I am reminiscing this Sunday. I reviewed my google sheet records of my sexual experience and check each entries and tried to look back. Anyway, as mentioned I am currently in my 'Hoe Phase' (I think pa end naman na). With my encounters they are really some thing na sobrang green flag when people do sa hookup.
So here is my green flags, read first and comment your green flag if you have any.
This opinion is based on my experiences only! with 23 unique partners and 43 encouters. 1 relationship, 6 Fubu and the rest as ONS.
Pre-hookup Green Flag
  1. Intensions are written in the wall. Location and what they are looking for even complete profile info especially the HIV info, such a good sign.
  2. Does not play any games. I hate people who say 'you first' or any G app culture games. Stop wasting my time, why would you ask for my pictures when It's already in my profile, ikaw tong blank profile.
  3. Literate. No hate to jeje or anyone, I'm not trying to be elitist or something. Pero as a corporate girlie, I really like corpo typings. Proper punctuations and all words are spelled out makes me so hard.
Hook up Green Flag
  1. Lumalabas sa Gate, Lobby, Aassist ka sa parking. Such a green flag if they are making sure na you wont get lost or ma question ka. Drop your location is not enough, I need more info on where to go hahaha.
  2. Not wearing Underwear and matigas na. No hate sa soft pa pero ang hot when when they don't wear any underwear tas bulging na yung hard dick. All ready for the battle.
  3. They asks for what you need. I experienced this with my fubu. Pag place ko na they wont go empty handed, they will bring coffee, fast food, donuts or just Water. One time he gave me some lube kasi last time we did it is paubos na lube ko. Super cute and really great way to make me hard and go all in.
  4. Amoy, lasa and parang minty yung mouth. Meaning na they brush their teeth before the hookup. Sometimes kasi kahit hindi bad breath, amoy luma or morning breath ganon. Ang nice knowing na they prep before the thing. THIS SHOULD BE THE NORM, pero I know na hindi. And my rule is, if I dont taste a toothpaste from your mouth, I wont eat or go near your ass.
  5. Communicate. Tell it to me if may teeth na sumasayad, if malapit kana, if nangangawit ka sa position, give me tips on how to satisfy you. I just met you, dont expect na alam kona lahat for your body.
Post Hookup
  1. Offer their bathroom, water, food, towel. They would ask what you need and give it. Some just lay there, Its ok if they are catching their breath or something. Pero if you dress up and just expect me to leave, I would pero yikes.
  2. After Care. I know this is transactional, we got what we needed. Pero a few mins of cuddles, talk about basic info, chill for a moment wont hurt anyone. I hate yung kakatapos lang may feeling na gusto ka na niyang umuwi,
Baka mahaba na masyado, will add nalang ulit some other time. I am really interested to read your green flag!! if ok we might think about the red flags next time??

2024.06.09 16:06 Courtnall14 Niko Mikkola

Not sure how many watched the game last night, but the last two minutes or so of the game, when EDM had pulled their goalie and McDavid, Draisaitl, Hyman, RNH, Bouchard, and Ek out there the entire time, our old pal Niko was on the ice almost the entire time.
...and he looked great. Got the puck out. Pinned it against the wall to kill time more than once. Just played some excellent defense. Not saying I'd undo that trade, but just wanted to point out he doesn't look out of place playing top 4 minutes on a Stanley Cup Finals team.

2024.06.09 16:06 Cardbox_Toad Homebrew Pauper deck: Train affinity.

Homebrew Pauper deck: Train affinity.
So, I made a Vehicle Deck for pauper... and incredibly, it worked. Played it on a local tourney, won 2 out of my 3 games, and the game I lost was ironically against a deck my deck was well prepared to handle...
I just got nervous and played like absolute trash.
Here is the list: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/GCCLX2wVG0eEusHQoXZ-OA
The star of the deck is [[Renegade freighter]], that's why I would like to call the deck "train affinity".
https://preview.redd.it/5h5mgmmgzj5d1.jpg?width=393&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5cad3320cdd77724e6f86865d2390aa7ef7051cb
Background: I love cards that are different and can be clustered into small group, which is why I have all the Sagas that are playable in pauper, as well other things such as the familiar cycle. But Vehicles, being an arguably inviable mechanic always caught my eyes. Got them all as soon as I could, and always dreamt of making a deck with cards like [[Nezumi Road Captain]] or [[Kitsune Ace]].
Then one day while looking at old cards, [[Cinder Wall]] opened my eyes. One easy way to enable vehicles is by having strong creatures that can not attack but can Crew a Vehicle. My mind instantly went to [[Rotten Reunion]], a card which has strong utility against GY setup and is fairly efficient for it's cost. (one 2/2 creature for 1 CMC, then another 2/2 creature for 2 CMC) Given that red is capable of dishing a lot of damage fast (which works well with strong vehicles attacking early for 3/6 damage each turn) and black is able to draw a lot of cards (neccessary for a deck that needs to play Vehicles AND creatures), the identity of the deck was born: an Aggro Rakdos (B/R) deck.
Since the deck wanted to be aggressive, the idea was to keep ourselves on the low end of the vehicles mana-curve: motorcycle, trains and helicopters, no giant mechs. (sorry [[Thundersteel Colossus]]) These low cost Vehicles could also help get [[Galvanic Blast]] online, which is fantastic aggro card. But that also means that extra artifacts can help, which is where affinity comes into play: [[Frogmite]] works suprisingly well with low-curve Vehicles and artifact lands! Another free 2/2 that can crew our stuff.
Sadly, the vehicles were going to be an easy picking for pretty much any removal spell in the format (including both creature AND artifact removal), so the next idea was to find uses for the vehicles before they got derailed. Protection is not Red's or Black's forte, and while cards like [[Undying Evil]] or [[Offer Immortality]] exist, none of them looked particularly great to me. Instead, we can accept the inevitability of card destruction and try to gain advantage with the bodies we have: [[Deadly Dispute]] for extra card draw, [[Annihilating Glare]] for removal and [[Fling]] for extra face damage. Let me tell you, few things are more satisfying than flinging a [[Renegade freighter]] that has already dealt piercing damage for extra 5 points of damage!
Finally, thinking of taking advantage of all the self-sacrifices the deck was going to have, I wanted to include some "mind control" options to use my opponents creatures against them. Something akin to [[Bloody betrayal]], which also generates an artifact token. Also, the card [[The Shattered States Era]] looked particularly tempting to me. However, thanks to [this list over here] (thanks u/Lord_Rewex) I realised that [[Tenative Connection]] filled the role like a globe. The deck already runs [[nezumi Road Captain]], which gives us options with menace. Combined with the fact that the deck is hungry for artifacts, [[Goldhound]] is the perfect filler: cheap agro-oriented artifact with menace. May not sound like a lot, but that menace can give you 1 or 2 free hits, and force the opponent to make awkward defender choices.
The list:
Creatures (9): Frogmite x 4, Goldhound x 3, Cinder wall x 2
Vehicles (7): Renegade Freighter x 4, Flywheel Racer x 2, Sky Skiff x 1
Artifacts (4): Experimental Synthesizer x 3, Barbed Batterfist x 1
Sorcery (5): Tentative Connection x 2. Okiba Reckoner Raid//Nezumi Road Captain x 2. Annihilating Glare x 1
Instant (17): Lightning Bolt x 4, Galvanic Blast x 4, Rotten Reunion x 3. Deadly Dispute x 4. Fling x 2
Lands (18): Jagged Barrens x 4, Vault of Whispers x 4. Great Furnace x 4. Mountain x 4. Swamp x 2
Sidedeck: Flaring Pain x 2, Cast Down x 2, Breath Weapon x 2, Red Elemental Blast x 2, Gorilla Shaman x 1, Tentative Connection x 1, Reaping The Graves x 1, Relic of Progenitus x 1, Cast into the fire x 1, Makeshift Munitions x 1, Deface x 1
Conclusion:
The deck is clearly not perfect, and there might be some things to fine tune:
* Bridges? I think they might be too slow, and the ping for the crime-lines is not to be under-rated. 1 or 2 damage with this deck is usually game defining.
* Not sure about [[Experimental Synth]]. The deck has a few 3 mana cost cards which completely back-fire when drawn. [[Ichor Wellspring]] might be a better solution. (maybe)
* [[Kuldotha Rebirth]] MIGHT be a viable card. 3 tokens that can crew your vehicles or go face is not something to be scoffed at.
* [[Arada Express]] is another train with menace and a crew cost the deck can easily fulfill with zombies, frogmites and even other cards. There is anti-synergy with [[Nezumi Road Captain]], but it might still be worth it.
But all and all, I really liked it. No idea how this is going to fare in a post horizon-3 world, but I just hope I can keep polishing this idea further.

2024.06.09 16:00 Aubagin Something I noted about Zavala in the cutscenes after the Excision mission and the debrief afterwards

I need to get this off my chest because I don't see anyone else mentioning this so forgive my wall of text.
Specifically in the lantern lighting cutscene: After the initial shot when the children laughter are heard and Zavala turns around to see us approach the Vanguard leaders with our ghost happily floating beside us I noticed his dejected face expression. I think it's because we got Ghost back by Cayde sacrificing himself for us ...but not for Targe and Zavala. It must hurt for him to have his coleader and friend of many years do the ultimate sacrifice for someone who's - forgive me to put it like that - the Vanguards personal murder-hobo attack-dog*.
So now after that cutscene we are treated to another ink splotch montage of the character's activities after the victory (and possible future conflict setups) and the "thanks for playing" scene that shows us the Traveler's new state of being over a voice coms of Crow's report giving me the impression that some amount of time between the battle, the celebration after and things going back to working order has passed. After all that you get to debrief with Ikora.
Now due to an unclaimed engram Zavala was blinking for me and because we often got to debrief with both Vanguard leaders in the past I assumed I was supposed to talk to him, too. So I went to Zavala first after loading into the Tower, but nothing. I than went to Ikora as prompted and got the debrief and because she mentioned Zavala (and still the reminder of his sad expression fresh in my mind) I went straight back to Zavala, but still no words from Big Blue. I than tried Crow (finding him in the Hanger after a little goose chase) and he said something to me that vaguely sounded related to the quest (but in retrospect might be just idle NPC chatter) so I thought that might have triggered Zavala's debrief.
But it didn't and that's when it hit me: Did this ruin our friendship with the commander? This might be a setup for a future conflict, maybe a B-plotline for the Episode with Fikrul or Xivu. I don't believe this will feature in Echoes since it's not topical for it and would fit more in an Episode featuring resurrections (Revenant) or betrayal of close family members (Heresy). If anyone find's a lore entry where this topic is brought up please don't hesitate to link or guide me to it.
*I'm going to be transparent and out myself as a Beyond Light blueberry. I played through Forsaken and the intro mission fully sold me on Cayde's character, I can understand why he is a fan favorite and I fully believe that he must have forged a very good friendship with the Guardian from D1 to his death. I know the "You're my favorite. Don't ever forget that." was targeted to those veterans. And I'm also aware that every player character is "the canon" Guardian from D1 no matter in what year they crawled out of the Cosmodrom. What I'm trying to say is: It felt unearned to me. My immediate thought to that scene was "But what about Targe?". To be even more meta: In MMOs and other perpetuate games the threat of permadeath is never to the custom character protagonist but rather on the character cast around them and from the moment the first cracks on Ghost appeared it was clear to me where this was going. Now there was the tiny possibility of Ghost permadeath without us loosing the Light for good by him being replaced by some sort of direct link to the Light (in the form of a empty ghost to not invalidate all those cosmetic shell purchases), but seeing as he isn't just a side character but also the solution for "giving the protagonist a voice" without imposing a character onto the custom player character this was unlikely in my opinion. This is why I want this to be setup for some complicated feelings for Zavala to be exploited and handled later instead of just fanservice.
