2024.06.03 02:21 BellicoseHoney Luvmilk Collection Review Dump

So I've been collecting Luvmilk scents since last winter and have finally decided to sit down and write out my thoughts so far on what I've got. I figured I'd break it down by season considering that's how she offers them, just to make it easy. For reference I am a 30sF who prefers sweet gourmand scents with skin that seems to eat perfume.
To start with - General Catalogue scents. These are available year round, I have tried most of these with a few exceptions. I tend to go for very sweet gourmands so anything that leans floral isn't usually something I'd buy. Almost all of these were purchased as 2ml trial perfume oils with the occasional large roller ball or spray.
Angel Blood: This one I gifted to a friend as it is straight banana runtz candy. I'm not a big fan of banana but if you are this might be for you! It doesn't come off as sunscreen-y and is very strong and long lasting.
Doll Parts: An instant favorite that I bought a larger size rollerball of. Warm, sweet, cozy. This is a winter favorite and the orchid and hazelnut notes blend beautifully in the dry down and keep it from feeling too sweet or young. I really like to put this on at bedtime as a comforting scent. If you like vanilla, this one is so pretty and doesn't turn into that weird plastic note I sometimes get from vanilllas.
Dream Eater: Bread. Very photorealistic bread. This one I liked but depending on my hormones it can take very yeast forward on my skin so I don't wear it as much but straight out of the bottle it smells just like a bakery. I don't personally get much of the cedamoss green smells from it but I like the sweetness of this one.
Fairy Dust: Smells just like strawberry fruit-by-the-foot. Tangy, fresh and very strawberry that mellows out and turns into a very creamy fruity dry down. I really liked this one and will probably purchase a larger size once I run out of my sample bottle. Feels very spring and joyful to me.
Gourmandy Peach: Peach cobbler. It also makes me think a bit of Honey Bunches of Oats with peaches cereal. The peach scent is more blended into the overall profile so it's more of a fall/winter scent for me. It also lasts a long time.
Kneady Kitten: Another photorealistic bread scent. This one is maybe a bit more bread-forward than Dream Eater for me and is more straightforward. I like them both but have to watch when I wear it as, same as Dream Eater, it can feel a bit yeasty on me. I do enjoy just sniffing the bottle occasionally lol.
Magical Girl: Sweet! Very, very sweet. The only listed note is toasted marshmallow so it's very straightforward. This is definitely a fall/winter one for me as it can be too much in the heat but it's very pretty. This is another bedtime favorite as it's simple and cozy.
Moon Milk: Another very vanilla forward scent. This one has hints of cinnamon and pastry and smells more edible than Doll Parts. Brings to mind a big vanilla ice cream cone. I did end up loving Doll Parts more as it's more complex to my nose and seemed to mix better with my body chemistry.
Rabbit Cafe: This was another one I instantly turned around and purchased more of. I went with a large rollerball and a small 2oz spray. My husband says it smells like Starbucks Pink drink to him and it's delicious. Brings to mind going to the county fair and eating every fried confection you can find with the dough note. The floral notes along with the amber keep this scent grounded and wearable for me. This one gets a lot of use and lasts really well on my skin.
Spring Catalogue - These just went out to make room for Summer scents and I don't have as many of them as many lean very floral which isn't really my vibe. All of these were 2ml perfume oils except for Queen of Hearts.
Aphrodite's Temple: Adored this one in the bottle, it's so pretty and springy and complex but once I applied it all I could smell on me was the rose note. It's a pretty rose and I may wear it sometimes but I was most excited for the fruit/smoke notes that are listed.
Floralia: This one was a free sample included in one of my orders and it really surprised me. I'm not usually into florals but this was pleasant and smelled quite nice on me. I smell a lot of magnolia/gardenia and the green notes really help round this out. I would say this is pretty across the board appropriate for really any occasion.
Lamb Melody: I was really looking forward to the tea notes listed but, as with Aphrodite's Temple, I can really only smell rose once I put it on.
Queen of Hearts: Lemon pound cake, and oh, is it delicious. This one I ordered a full rollerball of as soon as I tried it as it compliments my BBW Iced Lemon Pound Cake lotion/spray so well and lasts longer too. This is probably my very favorite out of everything I've tried from her catalogue. The lemon is very pretty and fresh while the cake/vanilla notes smell edible. I can't wait for this to come back around next spring so I can also order a spray.
Holoholo: This was the special birthday scent released this year. Very coconut and sweet in the bottle. I think the ube note clashes with my skin though so I haven't gotten to use this one much but I loved how almost earthy it is at first sniff.
I don't yet have any Summer or Autumn Catalogue scents but I definitely have my eye on several of them!
Winter Catalogue - I discovered this brand last winter just as they were about to switch out seasons so I didn't get to order many of them and will be trying out more of them this winter.
Book Wyrm: This smells like a cowboy in a library to me. Very leather forward and leans more masculine than anything else I've tried. Very strong projection on my husband and good longevity.
Child King: This one I was very excited for with the coffee note listed but I mostly just smell the rum. This one I have to apply very carefully as otherwise the rum note is a bit overpowering to me. I have a spray and 2ml oil an the oil in the bottle smells more of coffee than the spray. I gifted the spray to a friend as the rum note was too strong on my skin. Lasts forever.
As far as customer service and turn around time, I've been more than happy with all of my orders. This is a small business that puts a lot of thought into their product. I love that they offer 2ml sample oils of all their scents and the packaging is all really cute. I haven't tried any of their other products like lotions or bath salts but they offer quite a range of products and sizes. The way they package for shipping is also really cute and I've never had any issues with leakage or breakage during shipment.
Overall, I'm planning to purchase more scents to try in the future and may write those up once I have enough to justify writing it all out. Thanks for reading!

2024.06.02 20:22 Odd-Atmosphere-254 Attorneys’ exam study advice

I passed the F24 attorneys’ exam on first try. I wanted to share how I studied just to show that there are many effective ways, and I don’t think I’ve seen anything on here yet that reflects what I did. Note - I took the UBE four years ago, and so I had already learned how to take a bar exam, which involved a lot of condensing the material from three years of law school. I'm not sure this advice is as relevant for someone who has never taken a bar exam because you still have to go through that process.
I took two months off work (one month paid leave by my employer and one month PTO). Step one was to create an outline. I created the base of my outline from scratch and almost exclusively through the rules I learned from practice essays. First I read Mary Basick’s book almost cover to cover. I would do an essay from that book, read the sample answer, and put the rules I learned onto my outline. (Contrary to what many people on here have said, Mary Basick's book was not enough for me - it was only the starting point.) Next I printed out a chart I found online that listed the date and topic of every former California bar exam essay (https://jdadvising.com/california-bar-exam-essay-frequency-chart/). Each day I randomly selected at least a few essays from that chart, aiming for an equal distribution of topics and making sure I did a PR essay every day, and then crossed off the ones I completed. I am a visual learner, and so crossing off the essays on the chart helped me see the progress I was making. I would also add the rules I learned to my outline. Once I got through a bunch of essays, I got an idea of the universe of topics and rules that were out there. Then I started focusing on making sure I knew the concepts well. If I did an essay and didn’t understand the rule that was being tested, I would consult a bunch of different resources I collected to learn it, and I didn’t rely on any individual one. For example, if I didn’t like how smartbar prep wrote a rule, I would see if there was a video of someone explaining it on youtube or if someone on baressays.com explained it well in their answer. During this process, I would write down every variation of a rule I came across. So, on my outline, I would have like several variations of many of the rules. Over time, I would delete the versions that I liked the least. It was this process of constantly adding to and narrowing down my outline that I started to memorize the rules, even though it didn’t feel like memorization. I did very little actual memorization with flashcards because when you work with the material enough, you start to memorize it without realizing it. I started out with a strict 9-5 schedule to not burn out, but in the last few weeks, I started studying a couple hours more per day because I was convinced that the time I put in now was worth it if I didn’t have to take it again. I also only did about 3 to 4 PTs. I think the most important thing with PTs is to get an idea of how much time you can spend reading the cases (which is very little!) and then to know you are always going to be doing certain things. For example, I knew that if there was a case that went against my argument, I would have to distinguish it. So when I saw that on exam day, I did it almost without thinking, which helps speed things up. Overall, I was lucky to have access to study materials from several major companies, but I did not use any of their plans. I just consulted their materials here and there to find alternative explanations for rules I was having trouble understanding, usually using control F. Understanding how a rule works is more important that memorizing the rule statement word for word. Also I know the material feels like it's endless at first, but it really is a closed universe. If you study long enough, you will start to see subjects repeat. That is when you’ve hit a sweet spot. I didn’t end up being able to read all of the CA bar former essays, but I also felt like I didn’t need to because things were getting so repetitive by the very end. My biggest advice is that if something feels like it’s not working, it’s not. And the flip side is also true. I also think it's crucial to have a methodology, which can look like a lot of different things, rather than blindly attacking the material. Goodluck!

2024.05.31 02:12 Clem-Fandango2021 Predicting MEE subjects

I know that the conventional wisdom is that it is dangerous to try to predict MEE questions on the bar exam. Nevertheless, is there any sort of logic at all to how the MEE topics are selected in a UBE jurisdiction? When I look at the frequency charts over the past 10 or 15 years I am tempted to look for patterns and make some kind of educated guess as to what will likely not be tested v what will almost certainly be tested, but I am not confident enough to base my studying on it.
If the topics are purely random then one would expect a somewhat even distribution of topics over the years, but we consistently see some topics like Civil Procedure and Business Associations that are tested without fail on nearly every administration of the exam. Any thoughts?

2024.05.29 20:10 SlimeSpree Review: Mythical Mushbunny Slimes/Audeez Slimes (with pics!)

Review: Mythical Mushbunny Slimes/Audeez Slimes (with pics!)
After my first review of this fabulous slime store I couldn’t resist revisiting for a round 2! My first review can be found here.

Mythical Mushbunny
6-8oz for $15-19
All the jars were individually wrapped in bubble wrap and well packaged in foam chips. They have such a lovely presentation upon opened, including little sealed envelopes with theme-relevant stickers containing their charms and add-ins, which is such a lovely touch. I got two mini slime samples. The clays come with generous sized spare jars or deli pots to store the excess.

  • I ❤️ YOU BERRY MUCH (cleajelly/squishies, scent: mixed berries)
The base has a pleasant berry scent with a hint of perfume/soap . I understand the cute squishies were made by Mr. Mushbunny himself which is an extremely lovely touch aaaaand THEY ARE SCENTED TOO! 😱 I made the decision to press them into the slime to see how it felt, unsure of how they would be effected. They had a slightly different texture for your fingers to happen across which is fun but, equally, they come straight out the slime completely clean and with extreme ease so you can keep them separate if you wish to after play. MMB you guys are so smart and innovative! Its can be fun pressing a charm into slime but a) it can be pokey and b) its a pain in the ass to clean all the slime off them again. No problems with these squishies!
This is a beautifully, thick and chubby slime, perfectly activated (well, very slightly over-activated but that’s exactly what I’m looking for from a new arrival and think is a professional move on a slime store's part.) No stickiness at all and has lovely moist clicks, tons of crackles and good bubble pops. There are little pearls and star glitters in this slime that make it look really cute when you stretch it out!
Sadly, I did have a little accident and got slime on the label when attempting to take a pic of the jar through a bubble. I completely appreciate that companies have to exhaust their existing stock before ordering more but I have everything crossed that MMB will eventually upgrade to waterproof labels too.
I LOVE the squishies, they add a very interested angle. I hope there will be many more squishies to come from MMB! (Was anyone else eyeing up the cool brain squishie Mr. Mushbunny made which was posted on their Tiktok?)
The squishies were a fantastic touch!

  • BUN BUN’S STRAWBERRY CHOCO WAFFLE (DIY clay/T&G base, scent: strawberry and chocolate)
The scent is quite subtle, slightly more towards the chocolate than the strawberry but nice. As I played, I got wafts of both. My clay were quite squished and I had to clean them up quite a bit for nice pics but their clay is so very soft and moist with such intricate designs it makes it terribly hard to avoid damage during shipping. MMB put HUGE amounts of effort into their clays, they are just so intricate, cute and beautifully made. Really, with the lengths they go to, this is as much art as it is slime! International journeys can be really hard on clays and the squishing issue is not unique to MMB at all, it's just more of a shame as they are such special clays! I'm always brain storming over how slime stores could avoid clay squishing and I'm wondering if securing them on a spiked base with a little saran wrap/cling film over the top could work? Of course that just adds more materials and more cost to the store's bottom line so it's never straight forward. Anyway, I digress.
The base was perfectly activated, but the little pot of "sauce" was quite sticky. This combines to a super stretchy, chewy and copious amount of clay slime. It has loud moist, clicks, and soft bubble pops. It has medium hold and a slightly tacky surface as you inflate but remains perfectly handleable. I did go for a little bit of activator in order to make a swirl to photograph. This inflates loads and had lovely soft sizzles on the deflate.

  • SEA DOG’S STRAWBERRY CAKE (DIY clay cloud creme/snowfizz combines to cloud dough, scent: strawberry cake)
The scent is super delicious, strawberry focused with notes of cream cake. The clay is so cute, a little squished and again lovely, soft and fresh. This is a beautiful slime with a fun and less usual hybrid texture. Perfectly activated with a little bit of texture to it, I'd call it a cloud creme/snow fizz ultra lite. It inflates a ton and has soft-to-medium clicks and very soft bubble pops. I love the way the surface breaks up, when you see that you know amazing soft sizzles are coming your way! And they did, loud soft sizzles and micro crackles which I love. It’s non-sticky and easy to handle. A truly lovely slime.
I've actually bought myself a little mic and headphones to listen to the slime sounds, not even for video purposes, just for me to bliss out to! I'm in good company to understand the pleasure in it I think! 😆
I love the way the \"biscuit\" cake base ribbons into the slime when you start mixing. And look at that gorgeous surface indicating the slime is stuffed full of air thanks to the snow pieces and ready to sizzle and crackle for you!

  • FROOTY LOOPS SLIME (T&G with foam rings, scent: fruit loops)
The scent is leaning towards a fruity perfume, it’s not bad but doesn’t do much for me, personally. The very cleverly designed 'Froot Loops' are a squishy foam ring which breaks up with a very satisfying little fizzy crunch when you squeeze them, they feel so great. This is a magnificent alternative to foam balls ideal for people who love crushing and I really love the idea. Texturally I much prefer these but balls do maybe look cooler! They don’t fall out at all and introduce a lot of air into the base for pops which is what I'm looking for in a floam.
This is a medium resistance base, a tiny bit over-activated as I prefer and non-sticky. It has medium to loud clicks and holds its shine well as you play. It has mega copious snaps, crackles and sharp bubble pops, an extremely satisfying and well-designed slime!
https://preview.redd.it/4rh3t7vcnd3d1.jpg?width=5793&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5e0d149a1b215bf710b19cd21c632e43948d3f68

  • FIGHT CLUB (DIY clay/T&G base, scent: bare skin and salt)
OMG this is THE coolest theme! I was absolutely fascinated as to what I would experience with this scent and did laugh at the “don’t worry it doesn’t smell like B.O.” disclaimer on the website! LOL! No, it doesn’t smell like BO at all. It is a soft, sexy, musky, masculine, aftershave leaning perfume that I personally found very nice. Call me a weirdo but the scent kind of reminds me of a hot guy I'd want to date HAHA!! 🤣 Sometimes the themes seed these ideas in your mind.
The clay soap was gorgeous and moist and combines with the base to create a super clicky and ultra plush soft, light, moist snow creme with a little chubbiness to it. It has medium-soft bubble pops, medium-low resistance and holdability and inflates to a lovely puffy texture with a firm jiggle. It has lovely crackly soft sizzles. This is a truly lovely slime and possibly my favourite from this batch from MMB.
I hope I didn't break any rules by talking about this one 🤭

  • PIGGY PILE (DIY clay/cloud creme, scent: cotton candy)
The base smells great of sweet, creamy cotton candy. I opened the pot of piggies and promptly closed it again because they are so damn cute I really do feel bad about what’s coming! 😆 OMG MMB make THE cutest clays with darling little bead eyes. I have so much appreciation for the amount of work that would have gone into producing this product. Its just STUNNING beyond words!
When I finally plucked up the courage to be a terrible murderer, I found the gorgeous piggies to be very soft and moist to squish. Every so often I came across one of their "eyeballs" in the slime which added textural interest (and reminded me that I was literally the big bad wolf 😅🙈) They combined with the base to make a very plush and slightly fuzzy, dense cornflower blue snow creme with medium clicks and soft bubble pops. It is very stretchy with low resistance and soft sizzles.
This is SUCH a beautiful slime assembled it deserved a full sized photo of its own. The amount of work that must have gone into it is remarkable.
https://preview.redd.it/b5rlvmi5zd3d1.jpg?width=2972&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f58cfb9499e612db52ab21039548b860f45cec85

  • PIKA PIKA BANANA CAKE (DIY clay, T&G base, scent: banana milk)
Another extraordinarily well designed DIY clay slime! I am extremely fussy about bananas scents, they very frequently smell artificial to me. This falls under that umbrella but is nonetheless soft and as nice as an artificial banana scent can really be to my nose. The clay was ultra-soft and moist and gorgeous squish.
Combined this was a very loose texture and despite a lot of activator I had quite a difficult time getting this to firm up to a more handleable state. It has loud clicks, very low resistance and low holdability with soft to medium bubble pops. It was far easier to play with if split off into smaller portions. I prefer holdable textures so this one was a bit lost on me but everyone is different and there will no doubt be someone out there for whom this is a holy grail texture!
https://preview.redd.it/2rcx3ff70e3d1.jpg?width=5581&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0aa3f4b58f4527c18c09087a1cf42580ba090b62
In conclusion:
It is obvious that the lovely folks behind MMB are dead set on not just being "another" slime store in the vast sea! These slimes are so innovative, texturally interesting and visually astonishing with themes that are just ingenious and SO much fun! Their scents have more hits than misses for me, the same with their textures. It is very obvious that this is slime made by people who really do care about their customers and have a passionate outlook. To boot, folks who are every bit artistic geniuses as much as they are slime chefs! It seems like they are always out there in their slime lab trying to come up with something new to surprise and delight us with and I'm so here for it!
Improvements could be made in the way of waterproof lables which will hopefully come one day. The clays can also get quite stuck to the bottom of the pots resulting in them getting squished when you lift them out so a solution to prevent that would be fantastic. Unfortunately the clays can get knocked around a fair bit on their travels but this is an issue across the board with most slime companies. I don't imagine that an international journey helps the issue either! I really hope that one day the slime world finds a solution to avoid this, especially MMB as their clays are really that special! I think MMB is well deserving of a 9.9/10

Audeez Slimes

Arrived promptly and well packaged in foam peanuts. Sizes ranges from 3oz variety pack to 8oz full size with most of the offerings being 6oz. Prices between £10- £17 with an average of £14. Cute logo and understated but nice, individual waterproof labels.

UBE VARIETY PACK:
I massively appreciate that these mini jars were a little bit under-filled, allowing me to fit all the mini slimes back into the original containers. I know the under-filling/over-filling of containers thing massively splits people and I can completely appreciate both viewpoints! Personally I am in camp underfill, at least for some textures. I would love to get my slimes back into the original containers more often, though appreciate this is always going to be challenging with certain super inflators and DIY’s. What bugs me is when you have a slime that fits back into its container but doesn't deflate quiiite enough leaving you with just a pinch of excess!
(Just to make clear, Audeez full sized containers were filled right up as usual. Just the mini pots were underfilled.)

  • UBE SAGO (milk clear with jellycubes/slushee beads Scent: coconut milk, ube jam)
The scent is sweet and pleasant but quite perfume leaning to me. I’m picking up a very subtle waft of coconut reminiscent of a sun tan lotion. Perhaps a suggestion of ube but it’s not too notable. This was a tad sticky but activator very quickly dealt with that. The jelly cubes are easy and pleasant to squish with a good scrunch and the texture very pleasant with decent resistance. I got some good, small, sharp pops and crackles. This was a nice little slime but I must admit I found the scent a little bit difficult to deal with as the perfume element came forward increasingly as I played with it and it was just a bit overwhelming.
https://preview.redd.it/fvpa6f298e3d1.jpg?width=4707&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=024566d985da1c8124d3a5ffaef27602b711b76c

  • UBE BUTTER (sizzly butter, scent: ube, leche flan)
This is a creamy, more ube focused scent, I’m picking up a very slight hint of perfume which again gets stronger as I play. A tiny bit sticky and needed several puffs of activator as I played and inflated it. This was a stretchy, low resistance butter with a matte surface and quiet soft sizzles on the deflate.
https://preview.redd.it/hn2wf25e8e3d1.jpg?width=5165&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a599a47f053fa55399363b546f47271d5c9cb13c

  • UBE CREAM (thick cream, scent: ube jam, vanilla cake, brown sugar)
I thought this was the most ube leaning scent so far with notes of creamy vanilla, its nice. This is a beautiful, slightly over-activated (which I prefer) very thick and glossy. It’s got a good bit of resistance on the stretch which loosens up as you play. It gets matte as you inflate it and has some great crackles and sharp pops. Very nice!
https://preview.redd.it/nk49eslh8e3d1.jpg?width=5739&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=feb7f57aff7e42063fa8ff54580d229f18ee1fc5

  • UBE CAKE (soft cloud, scent: buttery ube cake)
Interestingly, I am getting slight hints of coffee from the scent as well as sweet and slightly savoury notes of ube. It’s quite nice. This started off with a pretty wet surface, I worried it was going to be icee leaning but then it fluffed up into an ultra soft and blankety, beautiful cloud slime. I’m a cloud obsessive but only have 4 in my extensive slime collection because I’m so fussy about drizzles. This formula is extremely good on the drizzles, less clumpy than the photo suggests. I’m very impressed.
https://preview.redd.it/jnytupvk8e3d1.jpg?width=8961&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7cfe3411595278f10f2da727aa9274117f8de1ed

  • PANDESAL DOUGH (sizzly butter, scent: bread rolls, butter, condensed milk)
The scent reminds me a little bit of sourdough bread. While is certainly not a bad one, it is not the best bread scent I’ve experienced, perhaps a little too sharp and sour leaning. This is a very dense butter with a moist, slighty tacky/greasy surface and soft finger pokes. It’s matte and stretchy with low resistance. It got a little bit tacky as I inflated and called for some activator. Honestly speaking, these have not been my favorite butters in the world. They remain very dense and I find it difficult to fluff them up. When I stretch out a panel to create bubble pops I find it breaks up and tears quite a lot making it difficult to create good air pockets. Due to this the bubble pops were not particularly notable. This isn't a texture I'd buy again from Audeez.
https://preview.redd.it/fhsqnv8v8e3d1.jpg?width=8255&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=df2137a5a5be6fa74ed8a3ededb51c8d712712a4

  • SQUIDWARD COTTON CANDY (thick cream, scent: blue cotton candy)
The scent is very subtle, sweet and pleasant. This is an ULTRA thick and glossy, which is a bit over-activated, as I like it. It is nice and resistant and feels very much like it’s made of shiny vinyl, though the shine dulls down as you play. The bubble pops are extremely loud and low and the crackles plentiful. This reminds me very much of the super thick T&G slime from Jayden’s Craft Shack, which is very much my thing. The scent and color pleases me very much. I will most certainly return for this texture.
https://preview.redd.it/z1biya859e3d1.jpg?width=8355&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3512ff7e5fc454307e602cac857d6b2e6672a59d

  • MARSHMALLOW CREAM (thick cream, scent: marshmallow fluff)
This smells just like a yummy marshmallow and I just love it. It’s subtle, sweet, light and super realistic. This is another gorgeous, ultra thick T&G with strong resistance. It gets chubby as you inflate with just a touch of firm jiggle. Big, loud pops, tons of crackles and snaps and soft clicks which get a little louder when fully inflated. I absolutely LOVE this slime/scent combo!
https://preview.redd.it/deq2xhw99e3d1.jpg?width=8049&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=329d50308bf0e008ba7d2fb29bcc29f43e38e9b0

  • CHOCOLATE COW CREAM (thick cream, scent: chocolate milk)
It’s not easy to get chocolate scents right and I find it hard to find one which represents the full depth and richness of real chocolate but this is a very decent effort which I enjoyed. This slime is the same as the previous two thick creams and every bit as nice. The only downside is that this one stained my play area a little. It came off with a good scrub with wipes but that is something to consider.
https://preview.redd.it/6dmj1iee9e3d1.jpg?width=8358&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9cc2d8dec1a0bff8692a80fd3892371df90b6d1e

  • JAPANESE CHEESECAKE (soft cloud, Scent: cheesecake, buttery maple syrup)
At first sniff, the maple seems to be the most notable in the scent profile, it’s not bad at all but I didn’t really warm to it, personally. This is a very soft cloud that definitely drizzles but is just a little clumpier than the mini ube pot (though ironically it appears to be a smoother drizzle in the pics!) This truly is a temperamental texture and getting it exactly right is no easy feat! That having being said, this is still beautiful to play with and I’ll definitely be grabbing more clouds from Audeez in the future!

CONCLUSION:
I very much enjoyed my order from Audeez. Some of the scents were a miss for me but equally there were some which were real hits too. I thought the T&Gs were truly excellent, her signature texture and will certainly go back for more. I also thought the cloud was overall very decent and will go in for more of that too if the opportunity arises. The butter texture fell short for me. 9.7/10
Thank you for reading! I'll be back again soon with more from Momo, Rodem and OG! 😊🩵

2024.05.24 19:20 No-Tap4656 Need help breaking a plateau

This is my third time taking this exam and I have been stuck at a 52%-55% MBE plateau since the late stages of my first time taking this exam. I have tried rereading and analyzing the black letter law in the outlines. I have tried grossman lectures (sure for a few weeks). I have tried practicing questions (I think I have done 5000+ at this point). I have hit this average plateau for so long I want to break it, the sooner the better.
What should I do? I'm not in a position to be able to purchase a private tutor, and I honestly believe one can't help. I know its early in prep for the j24 exam but honestly, I believe the pattern will stay the same.
My UBE scores are somewhat as follows:
1st time: about 30 points from passing
2nd time: about 20 points from passing
I know 10 points is not that small of a jump but I can honestly say that my MPT and MEE scores are what helped with that jump. I need a significant jump for my MBE scores in order to have some sort of a chance at passing this thing.
Just to give some sort of example of how I am, during prep, I think that torts is an easy subject, but during the exam, I am at around a 2 percentile of all testers. That's embarrassing, to say the least. I answers questions during prep with good timing, and I feel comfortable with my answers as well. I'm not trying to hurry up at all. But when I see I get about 50% wrong, it makes me feel like I'm not learning.
Any insight helps. Thank you.

2024.05.23 16:06 Lanky_Rip3302 BES IS CERTAINLY AGAINST TRUTH

"Sinabi nga sa kanila ni Jesus, Katotohanan, katotohanang sinasabi ko sa inyo, Maliban nang inyong kanin ang laman ng Anak ng tao at inumin ang kaniyang dugo, ay wala kayong buhay sa inyong sarili."( Juan 6:53) Inulit Nya ang sinabi Nya it means it is what it is, what He mean is like what it is there's nothing hidden about it!
It also explains na may ibang alak at sarong iinuman si Jesus after ng last supper ano yun? (Yung tinapay) Ang aking katawan!" It is literal not abstract or spiritual.
It means that, the bread that Christ wants us to receive is He, who once offer His self on the Cross, and multiply His Mercy for us. This bread and wine is both an atonement for our sins, to make us clean of our guiltiness against God and also at the same time our own food that will make us Holy which partakes with the suffering and godliness of. Christ.
It is mysterious how the bread is turn to become Christ, and the wine is turn to become His Blood, it is a MYSTERY of faith.
In fact di nga natin napansin, ang unang himala Nya ay paggawa ng alak, turning water into wine, and His last miracle I think is when at the last supper He declares to turn the wine into His blood. Isa sa himala Nya ay ang pagpapakain ng mga tao sa pamamagitan ng tinapay at isda (He multiplied it) and I think He do it more at the last supper when He declares to turn the bread into His own body to feed the world. See? This is what the Mystery of Christ is!! Nasa buhay Nya, nasa mga Himala Nya which bears a lot of significance. Wala sa dila ni BES at KDR, wala sa sayaw ng choir, wala sa sayaw ng TK wala sa panggigising ng GCOS wala sa pagpapalabas ng Kdrama at ng MCGI pro, wala sa pagkakatipong inaabot ng madaling araw, wala sa east to west south to north like making the religion a religion of geography, wala halukay ube ni Jmal at wala din sa pagpapahaba ng buhok o kahit sa kung anopaman sa MCGI kuno, all of this are making the gospel more mysterious by not acknowledging the life of Christ as He, His Life is the Mystery of Faith.

2024.05.21 15:17 bkallday2000 The new hot boba place Chicha San Chen

I will never understand people's need to stand in a line. I remember the lines at that first Yogurt Shop that opened up, then it was Magnolia Cupcake shop, then Papa Beard's Cream Puff's, then the Artichoke Slice, then the Rainbow Bagel, then Cronut, then Prince Street Pizza, it goes on and on. Who has the time, who has the desire, who has the patience.
So, last night coming from dinner, I was walking down Mott and thinking to myself, there are an unusual amount of tourists waiting for the BBQ Bun today as I noticed the line was coming off of Bayard turning on to Mott.
I then noticed there was a new Boba place, I guess I had noticed the shop during the day but there was a huge line last night.
I was with my son and we were about to do an Ice Cream Factory Ube ice cream mixed into an Ube Boba at Gong Cha bang bang. But, I now was curious about this new place.
I walked up to a teenage girl who was carrying like 4 boba's. I asked her how long the wait was for her. She says, oh it's not that bad. The line was like 45 minutes and then it takes about another 30 or 40 minutes for them to make your boba after that.
So, I am like, so about an 1 1/2 hours.
Yes she says smiling while coveting her 4 pack of bobas tied together with a string.
Anyway, whats the deal with this place, has anyone been. And is it safe to get a cronut now?

2024.05.20 21:35 erratic_hours I passed February 2024 (F24) as a multi repeat taker working full time - Resources I used, what changed for me, and some thoughts.

Edited 5.21.2024 to include additional breakdown on my schedule and organization on topics. Additional edit to my Smart Sheets entry.
I passed the Bar in February 2024 in a UBE jurisdiction after failing multiple times. I told myself that if I ever passed (which to me me seemed like an unlikely miracle), I would pass on the resources that I used as a multi repeater working full time at a fairly demanding job. This post is to explain what resources I used, why they were helpful, and what changed from my failing tests to my passing test. I am just hoping this is helpful to someone.
I took the Bar in a non-UBE jx several times and failed, and once in a UBE jx for F24, where I passed with a 302. I was not a good law student, I work full time, I graduated 6 years ago. I understand there are people with more stuff going on than me (all the kudos to parents taking this test - you are amazing and you got this!), but I do genuinely believe I am nothing special for the purpose of passing this test. I did a few points better on the MEE/MPT's than I did on the MBE, but I got passing scores on both. My jx does not give the full breakdown, so I don't know induvial essay scores, just the MBE vs writing component scores.
Resources: The study resources I used in F24.
Note: I found this post from u/SingAndDrive that really made an impression on me. I used Barbri on my failing tests and it NEVER resonated with me. I also used AdaptiBar (more on this below). I knew I needed to figure out a non-traditional Bar prep that was budget friendly and worked with my 9-5 corporate job. The linked post was a great starting point for me, and I did end up using a few of the resources they used. P.S. shout out to u/SingAndDrive for that post, and for still responding to people asking follow up questions about their experience.
1. NCBE BarNow "Everything Pack" - This is for MEE and MPT's. I did over 70 essays total - 4-6 essays per topic (I recommend at least 5 per topic) tested on the MEE and then 5 MPT's (I always did ok on these so I was not worried. If you are, do more. This was invaluable and very budget friendly (maybe $130). It includes hundreds of real essays and MPT's and all of the corresponding grader's point sheets. At first I would read the essay, outline my answer a bit, and then literally copy the graders point sheet exactly. I did this for 4-5 essays before I felt I could actually try on my own. I timed my essays (30 min per essay in my jx) and treated it like a real test to the best of my ability. Sometimes I checked the grader sheet as I was writing.
2. SmartBarPrep UBE Smart Sheets - This is the only thing I used for remembering rules for the MEE's. What I like about it is that it focuses on the main things that are tested and tells you the highly and moderately tested rules. Does it cover literally everything ever test? No, but you do not need to know everything. The goal is not perfection - it's a passing score. I also love that it was $130. It has some resources about MPT's I found useful for formatting different types of MPT's. Edit - I forgot to add I made like 1000 flash cards on index cards from the Smart Sheets. I thought it would be helpful to write them out for memorization. It probably did help some but making flashcards is a passive activity and I felt like I really memorized the rules by writing essays. I used the flash cards a bit to study, but I could have done that with the Smart Sheets themselves. I feel I can justify the time spent on this because I started studying November 5 and completed these flashcards by mid December. I burned all my flash cards in a bon fire a few weeks ago. Very cathartic.
3. NY sample essays for MEE essays - Free and helpful for a few reasons. First, if you look at the real essays by passing test-takers and refer back to the corresponding NCBE graders sheet you will see that great scores don't hit on every little point on the graders sheet. Sometimes passing scores come to the wrong conclusion. There is room for human error and perception in your responses. Second, it was so s helpful to me to see the format of passing essays. The MEE is all patterns (types of essays), do enough and you will begin to see patterns and patterns of how to format your response. I am very much a learn by watching person, and really needed the correct format laid out in front of me.
4. AdaptiBar - I used AdaptiBar during my failing tests, but the way I used it on my passing F24 test was very different. The big difference between my failing test and by passing test - a) I did wayyyy more questions on my passing test. In total, for F24 I completed around 1,600 questions. I'm sure I did like 600 on my failing tests. b) I reviewed every question I got wrong. For me this was reading the question again and then reading the full explanation of each answer. For one of the two tests you can take on AdaptiBar, I created an Excel sheet where I copied the question I got wrong in column A, the correct answer in column B, and the explanation in column C. I wish I did this for both tests. I don't know if I personally had time to do this for literally every question. I generally did 30 questions a day, all on one topic (more on my study schedule below). I reserved two Saturdays for a full 200 question test. MBE's are repetitive - they ask you a lot of the same base rules in different ways, and then stick these random niche exceptions/tiny rules in there. I highly recommend AtaptiBar or some other databank of NCBE questions with explanation. Do the licensed questions. It was the most expensive study aid I used by far, but I personally needed this resource to pass.
5. Goat Bar Prep - GoatBarPrep I wish I had found this subreddit sooner, but for the month I knew about it before the exam it was great. I read through the free megaposts for topics I needed help on. For example, I did not take Secured Transactions in law school and was starting from scratch. u/SnooGoats8671 is a wonderful teacher - he knows how to distill down complicated topics, and is an interesting and entertaining writer. Do not be fooled by the memes and silliness - this is the real deal. I did feel a bit like Alice falling down the rabbit hole and into insanity, but maybe that is part of the process. I personally bought a few additional resources from this tutor that specifically target tips and tricks on the MBE that gave me great results. For example, I saw a 10% increase in my Civil Procedure questions on AtaptiBar after using Goat Bar Prep MBE for Civ Pro resources. This was huge for me because I was basically hovering around 50% on Civ Pro (my worst MBE topic). I never directly reached out to u/SnooGoats8671, but others have stated he is very responsive and great to work with if you need a 1:1 tutor.
Failure vs Success: AKA, what changed?
While I did use (mostly) different resources, the biggest change was me - my attitude, my approach, and my effectiveness.
1. Passive vs Active Studying - I know you have heard this before, but it's the gospel truth - you NEED to practice active studying. Author Jessica Klein has some excellent thoughts on this in her book "Fck the Bar". Basically, you need to do the hard stuff. The extra un-fun stuff. Reading your rules is boring, but also passive. You need to write essays. Honestly, I didn't feel like I knew/started to memorize the rules for real until I starting writing essays. I started writing essays three months before test day, but didn't kick it in gear until January.
2. My Study Schedule - I am someone who loves a schedule, so I made one in Excel that detailed what I was studying from December 2023 through the end of February 2024. I scheduled two wiggle-room days each month, but in December life and holidays happened and I missed a few days. In January and February my schedule would change a bit, but I never missed a day because I had scheduled two wiggle-room/life happens days. No topic left behind. I worked on a 14-day cycle, where each work day had one topic assigned to them and weekend days had two topics assigned to them. I generally stuck to the same 14-day loop of topics over and over again, so each topic was covered two times each month. I combined Agency and Partnership because they are best friends, and never studied Conflict of laws outside when it was on a combo MEE practice essay. I am not sure if this was unwise or a good move over all, but it gave me 13 topics for 13 days, and on the 14th day I worked on MPTs or full on MBE tests or I devoted that 14th day to a topic I was having trouble with. I did not do two-a-day topics until the last two weeks before the Bar. Again, I was studying full time and I didn't really have time to fully devote my day to two topics. Honestly, it was for the best because I always start of strong when studying and dwindle off and it gets later. Speaking of - I studied maybe 2-4 hours a day during the work week and 5-7 hours on the weekend. I was not nose-to-book the whole time I was studying, but I tried my best. It helps that my then boyfriend now fiancé looming over me playing FIFA in the same room I studied in. Every time I picked up my phone he would turn to me and ask, "What are you studying now?”
Edit - additional info on my study schedule In January and February I typically did 2-3 essays a day On my 14 day/14 topic schedule that means that each MEE topic was covered twice a month. After I completed an essay I read through the graders sheet for the question. If needed I drilled down on any rule I didn’t get close enough to be accurate. For MBEs I was in a 7 day schedule (for all of February and part of January). I did 30 MBE questions for the MBE topic of the day and then reviewed all the ones I got long. On this schedule I covered each MBE topic four times a month. Each day had an assigned MEE topic and an assigned MBE topic. For MEE topics that are also tested in the MBE, I did not always cover them on the same day in February (eg. Civ pro MEE and civ pro MBE). In January I was able to because my MEE topic says did not always have any assigned MBE questions. I was able to do this because I did so much work on MBEs in November and December.
3. I Slept - No seriously. I went to sleep before 12AM. I never slept while studying for my failing tests. It sucked and I was a stressed mess. I was still a stressed mess this time, but I had way more brain function, wasn't burnt out, and felt physically better. For the record, I said "physically better", not "good". I did not feel "good". It was a lot of really hard, exhausting work and I never wan to do it again. It took me a month to gather myself up to even write all this. Anyways, get some sleep.
4. I was real with myself about why I kept failing - My multiple failures were a result of a few things. First, I was totally burnt out. Not sleeping, non-stop stress, and law school really sucked for me. I was just not in a good place. Before studying for F24, I had not studied for the Bar in at least two years. I was working full time, playing rec sports, had a boyfriend, and friends. I was in a good place. Second, I was studying ALL WRONG. All passive studying, nearly no active studying (see above). I FULLY believe I could have passed in the non-UBE jx I failed so many times in if I just did then what I did on F24. Finally, I acknowledged I was the problem, and decided to break the cycle. Better habits, new approach, worked within my schedule, and focused on discipline and consistency (Not my strong suite. Again, high recommend acquiring a FIFA playing study overlord - or an accountability buddy).
5. Test Day Mentality - I don't know if this is advice, but I walked into that testing center PUMPED UP. I was in a great mood - it was game day and I was ready to ball. A security person asked me how I was doing on Day 1, and I said, "GREAT!" and she said, "You are the only one." That is a true story. In retrospect I may have been losing my mind a bit, but hey, fake it until you make it, right? I tried my best to carry that mentality to Day 2. I also made a friend to hang with before, during lunch, and as we were leaving the test center - we still text! I am sure plenty of people need to be silent and alone to focus up, but for me, talking to someone (about work, life, whatever isn't test related) helped to keep my brain dynamic and awake. My friend was also a retaker who passed on F24, and I like to think having a friend helped them too.

2024.05.20 15:06 moondog151 Terrorista de Nova Iguaçu: In the span of three years four bombs would be set off, two at nightclubs, one at a movie theater and another at a supermarket resulting in 1 death and 18 injuries. According to a note left at one of the crime scenes, the bomber's motive was out of hatred for rock music.

(Nearly a month ago I made this post asking for case suggestions from my international readers since I focus on International cases and I recently was given one which I looked into and saw very few mentions of it online outside of Portuguese Wikipedia, digital newspaper archives and a single forum post. So I decided to take the case on. Oh and that Wikipedia article, about a good portion of it or so also talks about another bombing case that is likely unrelated.)
Credit to Royal_Catch7060 for telling me about this case.
And if any native Brazilians or even just Portuguese speakers in general are able to better navigate memoria.bn.gov.br than me and can find more information please let me know, For all I know this case may be solved after all and the information is just buried deep. Happened to me before.)
At 9:45 pm on August 12, 1985, over 2000 people were dancing or socializing at the Mesquita Tênis Club in Nova Iguaçu, located in Brazil's Rio de Janeiro State. The dancing was briefly interrupted by the sound of an explosion from the inside of the club near the stage, no panic broke out avoiding a stampede. There was, however, still a fatality. Elsewhere in the club was the body of a man, his arm had been torn off, his face heavily disfigured, part of his dental arch blasted a great distance away from his body and bits of his brain matter were blown up into and stuck to the ceiling. The blast also injured 15-year-old Claudete Oliveira da Silva, 19-year-old Cláudio Wilson Batista, and 17-year-old Luiz Antônio Oliveira da Silva.
The deceased was identified as a 23-year-old machinist and former goalkeeper named Otacílio Alexandrino Pinheiro, a regular at the club and well-known by the other attendees and staff. Tragically, when his brother was called and informed of the incident, he was in the hospital already as his father had suffered a severe heart attack. Otacílio was standing with a group of friends when the explosion went off, blinding one of them.
While Claudete was recovering in the hospital, she was questioned by police who told them that before the explosion, a man handed Otacílio a handheld radio described as sophisticated and of "foreign origin" and that he brought it to his ear and turned the dial to try and change the channel, the radio exploded once the dial was turned killing him instantly. She described the man who gave him the radio as a middle-aged, short, white male with a mustache, dressed in blue jeans and a checkered shirt and that Otacílio seemed to be friendly with him. Claudete also said that she saw other people witness this and try to chase after the man after the explosion but he managed to escape in the crowd. The bombing led to Otacílio's family protesting outside the club and blaming the lax security for his death as the guards were very selective in who they decided to check and screen.
Eventually, the police made an arrest, Nielsen Barros Louzada, a radio operator for The Civil Police and the son of a former deputy and owner of The Mesquita Football Club, Nielsen Louzada (his middle name isn't stated so they appear to have the same name). They later arrested another man, a painter named Edson dos Santos as Nielsen's accomplice. The police believed that the motive was a rivalry between the two clubs and even went so far as to accuse Otacílio being involved and that he was to place the bomb into the club's sound system but accidentally set it off prematurely. Nielsen's father also came to his defence accusing the police of being corrupt, trying to force him and Edson to confess and stating how none of the witnesses who supposedly got a clear look at the man identified him as Nielsen. He may not have been wrong to think so as the lead detective in this case was dismissed for corruption and gambling-related offenses.
On January 5, 1986, while Nielsen and Edson were on trial at The 4th Criminal Court of Nova Iguaçu, more than three thousand people were attending a concert by Tony Tornado at the Mesquita Football Club. At 10:20 p.m., a homemade bomb went off injuring 8 people including a child and triggering a stampede and panicked rush toward the exits. The injured consisted of Hernandes Freitas Soares, 25 years old, Marita Rodrugies Heriger, 17 years old, Adriana Xavier, Campos, 16 years old, Simone Machado Loureiro, 15 years old, Ana Claudia Costa Silva, 17 years old, Dejair Soares, 18 years old, Jorge Luis Csota Dias, 6 years old, and his uncle Didimo Rodrigues. Lastly during the stampede, 25-year-old João Luis dos Reis was trampled over resulting in minor injuries.
Five minutes after the explosion, three military police units on patrol in the area went past the club and saw that something was happening calling for backup and having the injured sent to two separate hospitals. Investigators faced massive pushback in their investigation as the club wanted to keep the show going at all costs ordering clubgoers to stop fleeing and continue dancing to the music. They unsuccessfully attempted to dispose of any evidence clearing away fragments of metal and cardboard as well as screws and a possible detonator believed to be from the explosive device. They even went so far as to try to deny police entry into the club. One of the injured, Hernandes Freitas Soares was an off-duty police officer. When he showed his ID, the two security guards attacked him and threw him out onto the sidewalk saying "The place to die is on the street."
The police believed that both bombings were linked but not because they were both committed by the same man. They proceeded with their club rivalry theory and that it could've been retaliation to the bombing of the Mesquita Tênis Club. Both victim and suspect denied this theory and stated that now the two of them were scared of future attacks and the owner Nielsen Louzada publically stated that the same man must've been responsible for both attacks. Nonetheless, the police remained steadfast in their theory so they did not re-examine the case and criminal proceedings continued against Nielsen and Edson
On October 5, 1986, at a movie theatre in Iguatemi Shopping Mall, 300 people were in the cinema watching "O Homem da Capa Preta". At 6:20 pm, a bomb placed under a seat in the fifth row on the right side suddenly went off injuring 17-year-old Alexandra Sabone Massa, 25-year-old Solange Vicente da Silva and 17-year-old Norma Sueli Ventura Santiago. Norma and Alexandra were severely injured as they had been pelted with shrapnel and even nails which had been packed into the device. They required surgery and even skin grafts. The theatre room was calmy evacuated while showings in the other cinemas continued uninterrupted.
The police arrived and recovered the fragments of the device and determined it to be low-powered and a timed device. Although the contents are unknown, there may have been a warning since the management was called from an unknown number. According to other theatregoers, the sound of the explosion was "muffled and muted" Property damage was surprisingly minimal as the seat directly above the bomb was mostly infact. Underneath the seat, investigators found a note written in "maritime signal code" which when translated, read as follows
"This is for you, club directors, to learn not to play only hot music. You also have to remember that slow songs exist. If my demands are not met, the games will continue until you change your mind. This is only the third game. They will continue until you meet my demands, and no security will stop me because I am capable of passing through walls without anyone seeing me. I just want equal time for slow music and not rock. NL"
The injured and witnesses could not give any descriptions and just like with the Mesquita Football Club, police were being met with silence as the manager would not show up to the theatre during investigations and were directly told by his employees that he was avoiding police and the press so he wouldn't have to make any statements. Some even causally dismissed the incident as a prank that had simply gotten people injured by mistake.
The media, however, upon hearing of the note ran with the story that a serial bomber was on the loose motivated purely by his personal music taste. And about that serial bomber "This is only the third game" Police went through other bombing cases and revisted the Mesquita Tênis Club and Mesquita Football Club bombings, both devices were similarly manufactured and used black powder and the initials Nielsen Louzada did match their one suspect, even if he was incarcerated at the time of the other two bombings and Nielsen said his name was planted by his father's politcal enemies. After the news broke, the owner of Mesquita Tênis Club and another club named "Lojas Americanas" came forward saying that in June 1986, they were both given notes written in signals as well. After translating them, the notes that gave the names Paulo Roberto Nunes and Washington Tavares Filho as the sender and the same address contained threats directed toward both clubs for playing rock music. The names were of course false but now there was a connection and Nielsen and Edson were both quietly released.
As a direct response to this bombing, Brazilian Police launched "Operation Macumba" to try and put an end to the sale and manufacture of "tula" and other types of gunpowder used in the bomb or at least severely limit it. On October 8, the police seized approximately 10 kilograms and 450 grams of gunpowder, packaged in 209 cartridges. On October 9th that number had jumped to over 1,021 cartridges with 40 grams of gunpowder each with 8 stores raided. Despite this crackdown, no leads to the identity of the bomber could be uncovered.
The fourth and final confirmed attack would occur on June 29, 1987, at 4:50 pm, the Casas Sendas supermarket was crowded with hundreds of customers when a bag left behind at the customer reception desk suddenly exploded. The explosion started a small fire and led to immense panic with many running, stampeding and others fainting with some thinking the entire building was on the verge of collapse. 20-year-old employee Marinaldo de Sousa Santos, who handled the packages was left with first, second, and third-degree burns and had to undergo several major surgeries. Marinaldo's co-worker, 17-year-old Osvaldo Luís Pereira and Marieta Moreira de Sousa were also injured. At the time of the explosion, few people were in the reception area which saved many lives.
Investigators at the scene collected two small batteries, pieces of wire, a talcum powder can lid, and other materials they believed that the person responsible was knowledgeable in explosives. The subsequent fire was deemed unintentional as discarded nearby to the explosion happened to be a plastic bottle containing flammable alcohol that the person dropping off the explosive package was likely unaware of. The decive again operated based on a timer, was homemade and the composition was highly similar to the last three attacks leading police to link this to the two clubs and the theatre bombing. Police arrested several people with explosive-related criminal records but none of these leads panned out.
Due to always striking in Nova Iguaçu, he was referred to as "Terrorista de Nova Iguaçu".
There was another bomber on the loose around the same time referred to as "The North Zone Maniac" who in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro set off 12 bombs from 1987-1988, mostly in the suburbs but also at a supermarket and a train station The police arrested Elourdes Mendes de Israel as a suspect in "The North Zone Maniac" case but the evidence against him was flimsy and he professed his innocence. Although some think that "Terrorista de Nova Iguaçu" and "The North Zone Maniac" are one and the same, the two have never been conclusively linked and both struck in different locations and had a different choice of targets. Due to the lacklustre evidence and a lack of any updates on Elourdes and his trial, it is presumed that "The North Zone Maniac" has also likely never been caught.

2024.05.14 14:13 Ok_Translator_3368 Advice for getting into Immigration Law after a break from Law

Hello, Counselors!
Hoping for some pointers and insight regarding my plan for getting into immigration law. I had to take a few years off right after law school for complicated reasons. Currently doing doc review. I speak Spanish and a third language. I did a fellowship in law school assisting undocumented detained persons secure legal representation and also worked with a non-profit doing some asylum defense and family reunification type stuff as a 3L...
My concern is where I've been out of law school for coming up on three years that it'll be tough to find a job. Couple of ideas:
  1. I thought about taking this comprehensive Immigration Law course through Catholic Legal Immigration Network https://www.cliniclegal.org/training/e-learning-courses/COIL061724 but $625 to enroll under current financial situation is going to be a bit of a stretch and I'm not sure how much it will help me with employment... Although it does look inherently interesting.
  2. I also considered getting another bar license in a state like Texas where there seem to be a lot of immigration jobs. I realize I can likely practice before an immigration court there with my current license (east coast state in which I do not plan on living in the future) but perhaps it would make me more attractive to employers to be barred in the state?
The biggest downside regarding a second bar membership is the cost (between $1500-$2000 to transfer a UBE score and jump through all the hoops. Ouch!) and then I will have to keep up with CLEs from the state (my current state doesn't require CLEs)... Pay two X the bar fees every year... I'm honestly hoping someone will tell me that this is more than a pain in the ass than it's worth, ha.
Summary: Can anyone in the immigration field comment as to 1. taking the COIL course, 2. If it's worth it to transfer my UBE score given the cost and pain of keeping up with a second license, and finally-- any other ideas to make me a better candidate to land a job in immigration law going forward? I'm looking forward to your insight. Thank you kindly for your time!

2024.05.10 02:22 Interesting-Lead-262 How to add ube powder to recipe?

How to add ube powder to recipe?
Hi everyone. I purchased this ube powder in hopes of making a pink/purple colored confetti loaf of sourdough. This is the recipe I plan to use: 320g bread flour 250g water 70g starter 6g salt 30g sugar 2 tsp vanilla Lots of sprinkles
How would I go about adding ube powder to my dough? I’m new at baking sourdough and don’t really know much about changing recipes around. Would I replace x amount of flour with the powder or increase the amount of water? Thanks for the help!

2024.05.08 21:08 -jeanesis- Weekly Party Discussion 10-12 May

ho hi!
my guys!
what’s up, how’s life been treating u lately?
let me answer that one for myself (my barn, my rules)
in one word, roughly (i mean, work with people)
so u got it, i’m ur host for the week (oh shit, here we go again)
my second time curating THE Weekly Party Discussion
or something one could call the eternal sunshine of solitary mind (one thought leading to one another, if u get what i mean)
get ready to lose urself to dance cause that’s what a dancefloor is made for, like my guy wrote last week (remember chapter 5? here, do ur homework)
so let the music play there and keep on reading that crazy long ass text, u might eventually get what u came for (a great selection of events happening in ur neightborhood)
so let me discharge my mind peacefully and scroll down if u wanna skip the crap (don’t, it’s a fun read after all)
ah but before i get in too deep and in da club, there is something we gotta clarify my guys (suspense at a peak)
yeah that’s right, someone’s gotta do it out there (and here again, i am taking one for the team)
so don’t mind me setting things straight ahead, this time like some other (look for it)
since when downvoting became THE way to express an opinion? i mean, use ur sticky fingers and write (ur lack of) it down so we can at least get a constructive conversation out of this beautiful mess
ah, i already hear the big mouths in the back whispering that reddit isn’t made for this (or whatever bullshit they come up with)
oh, but guess what? we make AMSTERDAM_RAVE the way we want, that’s also why there are some rules, our rules (simple as this)
so do urself a favor, check them out, once more won’t hurt (be kind, simple as this)
still don’t adhere? well, then get out lurker (i won’t say it a third time my guy, really)
don’t know what the fuck i’m talking about? do ur research, u silly!
so watch out my guys, next time u’re downvoting my gurl, our queen so so bad, i’ll come haunting u on the dancefloor (trust me, i would do it)
yes, i’m a witch (ur words my guy, not mine)
yes, a witch of love (what else?)
i mean, if u wanna leave a dowvote so so bad, at least do it on one of my post (try me out my guy, got tough skin now)
oh but i forgot! there will be no more rants coming out there (i mean it this time, really)
time has passed, indeed and urs truly gotta find another territory suiting her (unrealistic?) ambitions (that stupid brain hitting hard, especially during long nights of insomnia)
and i hope u’re gonna miss me very much because i’m not gonna miss u (that’s a big fat lie, one)
no, that decision of not ranting out there was not an easy choice, but for once the head took over the heart (see, how rational i could be? back to my roots, eventually)
i mean, the content doesn’t fit anymore (has it ever? probably not)
and i don’t belong to me (things just aren’t much fun, unfortunately)
anyway!
if that is not an unnecessary long, boring and egocentric introduction, i don’t know what that is (an overflowing chain of thoughts, with me always)
oh yeah, THE Weekly Party Discussion right? don’t worry, i got u covered my guy (so u better have my back too, equity as always)
ah wait, i’ll start (not a start anymore, at this point) by quoting myself (again) and reminding u of a golden rule, since it’s a looong weekend incoming (as long as my weekly duh):
if u can’t handle a bender, it’s at ur own risk (u choose ur destiny but know that the best is usually saved for the last, if u get what i mean)
feeling frisky tonight, Wednesday i presume?
then i strongly advise u to head over to Klank en Kleur in Schietclub, listen to Running Hot exquisite selection (curious? check that out)
hell yeah, take me for a ride my guy (there’s no time to stop)
not convinced? i mean, he’s another great talent from my beloved and favourite record label, Love On The Rocks (obviously)
i mean, who’s working tomorrow anyway? not me (neither do u my guy)
still decided to sleep that one out but can’t wait for the weekend to begin?
fine, u got another chance on Thursday night to make it to Radio Radio, where my gurl Dee Diggs will go deep alongside my guy Beraber (curious? check that out)
i mean, toss it my guy (u’re gonna set urself free)
don’t like house that much? oh well, then let’s expand our horizons on Friday
two options, one choice, see for urself what suits better ur mood:
on the west side, Live From Earth has the honor of introducing the newly renovated courtyard of Lofi and if i trust what i saw on their social, it looks promising (the place for sure, the party not so sure)
almost a mini festival at this point, i mean it’s no less than ten deejays on the bill split on three stages (that should be enough to keep u untertained my guy)
not gonna lie, i am not familiar with most names on the lineup but if there was a few to remember: MCR-T, DJ Gigola, Mila Black and the one and only Pablo Bozzi (who i still haven’t had the chance to see, oh no)
i mean, there might be some trance energy so i guess it’s not that bad of a deal
on the noord side, a good old classic Garage night (if u know u know) with Wata Igarashi, Spekki Webu and Julie, all the three worth the turbulence of taking the ferry (i mean come on my guy, it’s not even five minutes u lazy)
if u don’t know, well too bad for u (keep on reading then)
without transition, we got into the weekend (fucking finally) and Saturday is right around the corner with plenty of offers, here and there:
let’s start with another round of Festimi served at Lofi, to keep on inaugurating that magnificent outdoor (good weather may (not) be included, i mean who the fuck knows)
and a (not so) exclusive news for u my guys, phone will get stickered at the door (if that is not some noticeable improvement, i don’t know what that is)
regarding the lineup, there’s enough to cater a wide range of taste with Bambounou b2b Kikelomo, Nala Brown, Nathalie Seres, Teqmun and so on (do ur research my guy)
remember that one, regarding festimi crowd? i specially digged it from the archive for u my guy (and my memory still doesn’t fail me, it’s very annoying)
find another option, another sound at Het Sieraad with sir Gerd Janson, who has this oh so rare elegance to build the most sincere and less gimmicky drops out there (simple as this)
something unique, u gotta hear it to believe it
and another piece of advice, while i’m at it (feeling generous after all):
if u wanna get THE sound of any established deejay u gotta go and see them playing at their residency, as far as it might be (simple as this)
i mean, why do u think that urs truly is traveling back and forth to the other side of the border?
i mean, have u heard of panorama bar? right, i’ll stop there before u get the usual propaganda that i have been endlessly repeating since a few months out there (remember that one?)
anyway! got slightly off-topic it seems (classic move)
third and final option at Garage for THE HARD WEEKEND (which reminds me that i never published my report of the previous one, oops)
if u still don’t know (lost the thread? haha), well u got a second chance so don’t sit that one out (i won’t say it a third time my guy, really)
for real, check the lineup urself because i don’t need to do it (when it’s good it’s good) and get ur ass on that ferry (i mean come on)
for real, my heart will go on and on (i just love that place, another proof here)
rest assured to leave it with new core memories (wink)
and like they say, come early stay late (it’s a long run that one)
without transition (again), the weekend has (almost) passed but luckily for us all, Sunday doesn’t leave us off the wall with plenty of offers, here and there (again):
if u chose Festimi the night before, one logic option would be to end up at Bret to close it off properly
another place, same deejays with Nathalie Seres, Ploy, Angel D’Lite, also joined by Sandrien and Paurro
otherwise, last but not least event of the courtyard opening at Lofi with Patio (a brand new concept, running on Sundays only)
that one is for u techno heads: Chlär, Lea Occhi, Stephanie Sykes and so on (do ur research my guy)
and for u house nerds, Ciranda Sundays at Doka with Mafalda and Mendel (curious? check that out)
finally, i cannot end that weekly by not mentioning Kolt since it was so kindly recommended by my guy out there (oh hello)
i mean, JEANS on the bill (almost heard my name)
location T.B.A., u know the drill (check their social, u silly)
oof, another eventful weekend that awaits us
bender season is officially ON, so i hope u took ur Monday OFF (or the percks of (not) working remotely)
yes, we all know what happens when one is staying home to focus efficiently (away from an overly agitated openspace? nah i don’t think so)
even if nobody talks about it, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist
and that culture of sneaking out is here to stay (they call it a lifestyle, i call it hypocrisy in disguise)
think about it my guy (wink)
i leave u to it (scroll back up, give it another try)
and remember, keep the spirit high and the heart in love (their words, not mine)

2024.05.07 23:29 PlatypusArtistic1743 Favorite Mix Ins

I've had success lately nailing down standard flavors with fruits, extracts and all and feel comfortable now - but I want to advance to the creative concepts of like mix ins and pairings.
I've seen cheesecake mixes and butter cake mixes in some flavors are those are pretty straight forward; but I am curious on how you come up with different pairings that make sense together but perhaps alone they didn't at first.
For example, I've made an Ube flavored ice cream, but I've seen some shops do Ube + Honeycomb folded in or Ube + Coffee Cake and they were amazing. I never would have put them together, but some how they work. I'm curious anyones experience with coming up with those type of pairings and what you process is when considering combining them? Or perhaps what are some favorite mix ins of yours you like combine with your ice cream? I've heard pretzels, wonton strips, and potato chips (idk how people do that even) so far - any others I should consider?

Trends For 2024 And Beyond - KLBD Kosher
https://preview.redd.it/lp6fe0w08zyc1.png?width=910&format=png&auto=webp&s=2d4da6288214eb3c007c224d32dd528bd6751945
Predictions for 2024 food and drink trends have already started to come to fruition across all sectors.
Health and wellness products look set to remain a number one priority on consumer wish lists. According to Bidfood, “around 48% of consumers are seeking out foods that directly impact their physical wellbeing, and 71% say they feel the aroma of food and drink can help boost their mood.” 2024 will see brands placing a specific focus on ingredients to benefit women’s health, especially those from an older demographic.
The feel-good growth of coffee and sodas will also thrive in the coming year, say Whole Foods Market: “Combining a boost with benefits has never been easier thanks to new coffee and energy drinks with added mushrooms, probiotics and more.” UK Manufacturer, Lionel Hitchenbelieves that the light, fruity tones of Peach Fuzz will even bring peace and serenity to food and beverage innovations. Other KLBD clients suggesting a flavour of the year are T. Hasegawawith ubeand McCormickwith tamarind.
Soft drink options aimed at younger consumers will include such unconventional profiles as Coca-Cola’s‘Sugar Byte’, which invites customers to explore how pixels might taste. Mike Watkins, head of retailer and business insight at NIQtold Food Manufacture, ‘These ‘unreal’ conceptual flavours not only resonate with younger shoppers but also drive incremental growth by expanding the flavours repertoire of both existing and new consumers.’
Plant-based food will continue to be in demand, but consumers will seek assurance on the authenticity of products and their health benefits. Whole foods like mushrooms, walnuts and tempeh will remain popular for their nutritional benefits, with mushrooms once again leading the pack for versatility. As observed by Kanthe Shelke: “People will discover mushrooms in every food and beverage category and product developers will find ways to weave in ancient wisdom into new craveable food formats.”

https://preview.redd.it/ymed4en68zyc1.png?width=768&format=png&auto=webp&s=fb43a0d3a0217c91f7f51209ba7d571875566786
Authenticity of ingredients and origins features strongly in Bidfood’s trends report for 2024. Consumers want to explore cuisines in their most original format and international cuisines from the Caribbean, Eastern Europe and Mexico are creating most curiosity. An insight into global tastes for 2024 is provided by Cecilia Pereyra of IFF Nourish, stating: ‘When it comes to global flavour trends, we can always know it is about spice. ‘Spicy, smoky, tangy flavours from regions all over the world are trending. Korean and African flavours are most popular, with Italian, Japanese and Greek flavours trailing close behind.’ In the UK, a fascination for British Fusion cooking is proving to be an exciting concept for more adventurous diners.

https://preview.redd.it/z9rxe21a8zyc1.png?width=1000&format=png&auto=webp&s=f36f96ba803a34c716b26c60ca175ef0ffcc150d
Another recurring theme for 2024 is sustainability, with awareness of environmental factors being a major driver of market patterns. Shelf Nowreports increased demand for sustainable food brands, with Kate Kehoe of FMCG Gurusnoting, ‘Brands must showcase resourcefulness across the supply chain to align with consumer values’. Companies must comply with The Food Safety Modernization Act to provide full transparency of how their products are made, as well as full traceability along the supply chain.
As the impact of extreme weather continues to be a hot topic, US based Natural Grocers’ Education team will present innovative solutions on utilising foods and nutrients to counter additional stress put on our bodies. Going forward, it’s claimed that eating watery vegetables and fruits like cucumbers, watermelon and mangoes will keep us hydrated and that supplemental nutrients will play their part too.
Leading chefs’ predictions for 2024 confirm the trend of farm to table produce being integrated into exciting recipes from plants, herbs and fruits. Expect to see pine needles paired with beeswax ice cream, with needles adding a citrusy, woody flavour to both sweet and savoury dishes. Alchemilla’s tasting menu in Nottingham promises fermented mushroom and spent coffee as part of their delectable desserts offering.
In America the ‘treat culture’ will feature strongly throughout 2024. Whether it is aesthetic plant-based ingredients, or luxury sweets, little treats will be tempting consumers in the year ahead. Aishwarya Iyer, Founder and CEO of Brightlandhas noticed a trend for visual and tactile aspects of product presentation, while Mandy Sevan of Styluscomments, ‘customers with cash to splash will continue to invest in luxury food experiences involving complex flavours, hard-to-source ingredients, next-level freshness and culinary craftsmanship.’ Luxury brands are likely to develop complementary food and drink offerings that ‘encapsulate their aspirational attributes.’ Conversely, the less affluent may have to adjust their shopping habits, but will still seek out small indulgences for reward and escapism.
In the drinks sector tequila’s popularity shows no sign of abating and is strongly predicted to retain pride of place at all the leading supermarkets. The Cocktail Societyare promising an exotic array of flavours to tempt our taste buds, with Asian Cocktails, Tea Cocktails, Margaritas and Vegan First innovations coming into the mainstream. The spritz category will continue to expand with new brands and flavour combinations.

https://preview.redd.it/460eiuxg8zyc1.png?width=1000&format=png&auto=webp&s=7da5854adcf71208984bf50f9a5c7a60740a2a51
As consumers become increasingly aware of their drink intake, a lower alcohol alternative provides the ideal compromise. The emergence of alcohol-free bars across the UK is attracting a new generation of drinkers, with the owner of Manchester’s Love From saying, ‘More and more people are drinking less but they still want somewhere to go with their friends.’ London venues such as The Permit Room, Kings Cross, are offering ‘teetotal tipples’, ‘sober negronis’ and ‘rumless mojitos’ to entice clientele. Meanwhile, the Cross-Country train network will be the first to provide Mavrik’s alcohol-free Cuban Mojito.
Financial considerations continue to affect consumers worldwide. Mintel’s Global Food and Drinks Trends report stresses the importance of maximising value as consumers grapple with cost of living and turn to different products as a result. Executive Director of Waitrose, James Bailey, has noted how price-conscious customers search for the best value and look to promotions to cushion their bills. Separately, Kate Kehoe comments, ‘Brands should respond by introducing packaging advancements to prolong the shelf life of products.
It comes as no surprise that the most dramatic changes on the horizon will be AI-powered solutions across all sectors and that a new era of convenience will emerge as technology streamlines meal planning, shopping and cooking. Referring to AI’s potential to revolutionise supply chain management, Athena Lee from Shelf-Now comments, “By analysing sales data and other factors, AI can accurately predict demand patterns, allowing businesses to optimise inventory levels, reduce costs, and minimise food waste.” As 2024 sees food safety regulations continue to evolve, technology tools will help brands to meet compliance issues, including food safety standards, labelling, as well as environmental and labour solutions.
Likewise advances in technology and health monitoring apps will identify personalised recommendations based on consumers’ purchase history. Brands are aware that using ‘tech tools’ will tie-in with consumer preferences, such as highlighting plant-based options that vegan and vegetarian consumers might enjoy. Brands that adopt this approach will strengthen customer satisfaction and reap the benefits of long-term loyalty.
It is also widely predicted that AI-powered chatbots and virtual assistants will enhance the broad customer service experience by responding to routine comments and even making restaurant reservations. This will free up human employees to focus on customer interaction and value-added tasks.
Exciting technological trends look set to revolutionise the food and drink industry globally, with 2024 just the start of innovations across all sectors.

Theres Dominique Ansel's cronut, Julien Boulangerie's croissant cube, Lafayette's Suprême, cruffins. But who do you think had the best spinoff?
Always holding out for Dominique Ansel to release a flavor that would wow me like the Cranberry Pear and Olive Oil Ganache which was 4 years ago. Some flavors were great since then but he had some that would have left me underwhelmed and wondering what the hype was had they been my first introduction to the cronut such as his ube coconut cronut. Its a shame he only has one flavor per month since I think the flavor you try has a big impact on your impression of the cronut.
Especially interested in how Lafayette's Suprême compares to it.
Not looking at regular croissants right now as I already have places like L'imprimerie, Brooklyn French Bakers, Breads Bakery, and La Cabra as places to eventually try, although I'll have to ask when they come fresh out of the oven to make an accurate assessment.

Conchas! (Mexican sweet bread)
These are chocolate, vanilla, and ube flavored. Done the traditional way (over an hour of kneading while slowly incorporating sugar and butter separately). Learned how to make these in CDMX. What’s fun about the topping is they can be any flavor as long as you have the powder for it (-: I’ve done matcha, coffee, and pumpkin spice. Feel free to DM for recipe.

2024.05.04 18:14 Mousiemousy Passed J23 UBE and F24 CA; AMA

July 23 UBE
First time taker in July, used Themis. Didn't follow their schedule, completed around 75-80%. Did all but one graded essay all open book and got the average or slightly below average on all of them. Full time study started in late May. Focused on MBE. Had a lot of supplemental materials because of study group, but don't think they are necessary with Themis, because it comes with UWorld and tons of sample essay answers. Did passive and active studying. Didn't study much last two days before the bar because I got sick. I think I took one or two other days off, so around 3-4 days off total. The long study days - maybe around a week of these, sometimes 10+ hours were due to video watching at 2x speed - wanted to get through all MBE and MEE subjects. Otherwise 4-8 hours was more usual. Tried to do 50 questions per day to start off the day. Did 75-100 some days depending on my energy level. Did 200 once for the simulation day. Couldn't review all the wrong answers that day - too exhausted but picked it up the next day. Most important tip is to review all answers whether you get it right or wrong. I always did them timed but in tutor mode - found it easier to learn to review each question/answer right away. Felt confident on both AM and PM MBE session. Average near the end was around 80-90% in UWorld. Don't dwell on any one question so you won't run out of time. Read a lot of model essay answers, hated writing timed or not. Jumped all over the place during the exam - gave more time to essays I felt more confident about. MBE score was around 170 and essay around 150. Probably overshot studying - could have taken some more days off, done no Themis questions (UWorld is all that's necessary but stupidly I wanted to see the Themis counter go up). On the day of the exam, whether essay or MC just keep going, don't let anything take up too much of your time. I got nervous at several points but it was important to keep moving. Study in a way that doesn't make it too painful - no need to follow how others are doing, figure out your style so you can stay the course. Process really sucks - sorry we all have to go through this. Wasn't sure if I passed when I walked out.
February 24 CA
Worked full time for Feb bar - started in November. Studied either on weeknights or weekends. Used Themis again, again didn't follow the schedule and completed around 60%. Focused again on MBE. Did 1800 UWorld (zero Themis questions this time). UWorld accuracy around 75%-85%. Did all but one graded essay all open book and got the average or slightly below average on all of them. Same as before, read a lot of model essay answers and jumped all over the place during the exam, giving more time to essays I felt more confident in. Took one week off before the bar, focused that week on essays as most of the MBE questions were done by that time. Crammed a lot the last two days before unlike the first time around (rested those two days because I was sick). During that last week, I made sure to review PR and I reviewed model answers of predicted essay topics - got lucky that some appeared on the exam but many also did not - so important to review a bit of everything. Watched only the CA topic videos. Relied on doing the MBE questions to refresh MBE (first time, I watched all MBE videos). Got the Basick book - overall I don't think it was necessary because the Themis model answers were sufficient and in some cases better - I didn't like some of Basick model answers. Hated reading the answers from the CA bar site - made me feel nervous. As for the essays, felt good about 2 (Con Law, Crim/Evidence), average about the MPT (didn't use up the full time since I felt meh) and 2 (Community Prop, PR), and not so great about 1 essay (Contracts) as I couldn't answer one sub question - got confused about the people in the fact pattern, got nervous and didn't want to dwell so I diverted time to the essays I knew I'd score well on. Spent maybe 10/15 mins less than the alotted time on the MPT, Community Property and Contracts. Diverted that time to Con Law and Crim/Evidence because I knew I could identify all main and sub issues. Perhaps overshot studying a little but wouldn't have changed anything because essay grading was an unknown quantity and it is my weakness. Again, wasn't sure if I passed when I walked out.

2024.05.01 16:15 Fit-Competition-7651 Sitting Out a July Exam

Full transparency and honest feedback from those who sat out an exam (especially a July one) and passed the next/following exam. I graduated law school in May 2021 and I have taken every single bar exam since July 2021 up to this point. I recently found out on my 6th try that I failed. Even worse than before (even though I felt the most prepared going into the exam). I'm seriously considering sitting out July 2024 (and may end up having to). My question is how does one deal with sitting out an exam planning for the subsequent Feb one? I would most certainly have FOMO for not taking July 24, because what if I do pass that time? I keep hearing from everyone that I will have "a better shot at passing" by taking the July bar, and I understand the stats/probability behind that, but I am at a point where I am running out of time and options of where to sit for it. Since I have taken and failed the UBE more than 5x, I have to write a petition for admission to even sit for the bar exam in a neighboring state (my state of KY has a cap at 5x no matter what). So, while I am still applying and drafting my petition for admission to sit for TN, there is a strong likelihood that I may not even be able to sit for the July exam period. Is it so bad to sit out an exam? Also, am I already at a deficit by going with a Feb exam instead of a July exam? I really do not want to wait an entire whole year just to sit for the July 2025 exam just because it's a July exam. How did it make you feel mentally when prepping for the Feb exam that you passed? Was it difficult to get back into studying after taking extended time off?
P.s. If it doesn't work out for me for July 24, I would apply for Feb 25 in Alabama. I would have otherwise applied to take their bar exam, however, their deadline was April 1, and I did not receive my Feb 24 scores until April 12.

2024.04.30 01:42 meatspace_visdev Struggling building Meria, Scholar of Antiquity Cheerios and just Combo in general.

Decklist: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/RbQWcAPvwEuLftLPdjUbeA
For context, I made a deal with a friend who went abroad and bought me a foreign MH3 pack that I would build a deck around at least one of my pulls from the pack. I pulled an [[Urza's Saga]] much to the table's delight and tried looking for a synergistic commander to build it in. EDHRec directed me to their list of commanders and [[Meria, Scholar of Antiquity]] caught my eye, gruul artifacts sounded really fun.
Several iterations later and I'm no closer to building a deck I enjoy playing. I enjoy building around unique, interesting cards and it seems like the most synergistic strategy with Meria is spamming out artifacts (typically cheerios) to burn everyone with pingers, [[Aetherflux Reservoir]], or massive spells like [[Crackle with Power]]. My issue is that I'm regularly taking 30+ minute turns, desperately filtering through my library until I hit a combo [[Mystic Forge]] + [[Sensei's Divining Top]] + (insert cost reducer) or everyone is dead. I don't enjoy making other people sit there and wait for me to find out whether I win or I get stuck with nothing to play.
Maybe I'm too much of a Timmy, but I'm feeling uninspired and dissatisfied with building a play style I don't like; Hoping to hear from others how they approached this decklist or if anyone has any other synergistic strategies to include Urza's Saga in.

2024.04.29 19:06 throw4waway224 NJ C & F Timeline

UBE Transfer here. The reviewing attorney has had my application for 60 days now. Can anyone give their input as to how long it will take them to make a decision / request more information / request an interview or hearing? I know each case is subjective but anyone's personal experience would be helpful and calm me down lol
