It was late November 2015. I was 51 and one year past my divorce (which was not related to cheating) when I became so disgusted with myself that I knew I had to pick myself up. Every kid growing up in Gympie in the early 90- 2000s knew about the Love Tunnel.
The love tunnel was located over the hill from the skatepark on the Riverbank. It was a massive storm water drain filled with spray paint and lore unbound throughout the generations; the glowing dick, whose name is the furthest in, the people who live inside, the bull shark that lived under the bridge just outside, all that fun stuff.
It collapsed in the late 2000’s in a flood and was eventually rebuilt, but it was all fancy, modern, safe and not the same. Back in the day it had decades of graffiti, crumbling cement, jagged metal pole framing bent and jutting out from the sides. You know, real character.
I remember when I was just a kid at the skatepark and I spotted a bunch of other kids at the metal grating of a drain. I joined them and gazed down a few metres to some older teenagers, they had trekked through this “love tunnel” under the massive hill all this way. Badass I thought. LEGENDARY.
I talked about it at school, about this mysterious “love tunnel”. It was in view from the road when I crossed the bridge everyday on my daily commutes from the backseat of mums car.
I would gaze down at the weir and see the top of the love tunnel, sliightly hidden from view by a hill. It fascinated me.
I learned all these mysterious tales; this person slept with this person there, someone took a dump at the entrance and some other girl stood in it and now she had a nickname, someone found needles, another found a homeless woman and she screamed at them. I was pumped for the next weekend. I was going to go see it for myself.
I saw too much.
Early Saturday morning I was riding my push bike through town and toward destination adventure! I started out at the skatepark, met up with a few of the regulars, a mix of 5-19y/o everyone on the half pipes and ramps had a code of comrady that I've never found in a public place anywhere else and you always had someone to hang with.
My usual crew slowly arrived through the morning, a bunch of other 10/11 year old misfits like myself and we headed on our first place on our journey, Hungry Jacks. Now we never technically stole, we found a loophole…
One or two would order a stunner meal, then we'd take privilege of the free refills and fill up the empty plastic 4L juice jugs that we all had prepped in our backpacks. Coke and red Fanta for days.
So we got our supplies and headed behind HJ, past the volleyball courts and headed down a bush track down to the river.
We walked along the banks to loop back down to where the bridge was, we passed a few teenagers fishing and a couple other groups of kids swinging from rope swings into the water or huddled in groups smoking things they shouldn't.
We eventually arrived at the weir and the stormwater drain that I had been so intrigued by. The Love Tunnel.
Climbing up the hill and seeing it up close when you were just a tiny human. It was like staring into the dark abyss of hell.
There was a small stream of water flowing out of the big grey cylinder and it was covered in multicolored quotes and crude pictures that was very eye opening at the time.
Our voices echoed as one by one we climbed up the grassy, eroding clay edging that was the makeshift path into the mouth that probably changed each time it rained. Each of us had pulled out clumps of grass that we thought were handholds. If you fell, you fell down an embankment of slippery jagged rocks poking out from the fast flowing river.
So were inside and began to walk a couple of metres in then around us the light abruptly disappeared into complete darkness. And I remember the way the sounds traveled you could feel it through your chest it was mesmerizing.
I remember bravely stepping into the darkness and taking five or six steps in. That thick darkness was something else, I ran myself back to that entrance and light, heart pounding from the adrenaline.
This turned into a game of who could go in the furthest. This stopped when one of the boys screamed out from the darkness in pain.
He was back in the light teary eyed a few moments later wet on one side and feigning a laugh. He'd slipped down and cut open his knee, it was hilarious. We teased him saying he was going to get gangrene and leprosy and a myriad of other ailments we had no idea actually was.
We decided to bail, we forgot torches, we didn't plan that part out too well, and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon being little menaces.
We met the next day with a game plan, we had an array of various sized torches, from small ones that didn't do anything, one of those giant rectangle ones that was our main light source, a couple of handheld ones, one which flickered and the other stopped working before we even got into the tunnel.
We got in safely and tested out our torches and began walking into the unknown. It was pretty much the same as before, but there were strange things, old makeshift bongs, shopping bags, random shoes, a shopping trolley, a mattress that was all moldy and rotted. I still to this day do not understand how people managed to get that shit in there.
We passed a section where someone had thrown a can of red paint all over the walls, the amount of those ‘S’ symbols was more terrifying.
We saw light up ahead, we were passing our first grate. It was kind of daunting looking up towards it. Even getting on each other's shoulders we couldn't reach. There was an array of broken beer bottles and glass was everywhere, under the grate was a dead snake amongst some debris.
We had a debate whether to go further, we ended up going on at least until the next grate, we came to a fork, one seemed like a smaller offshoot so we stuck to the bigger side.
There were more offshoots and we came to a part where the big pipes split off into three under another grate. We gazed up hoping to get an identifier of our location, but all we could see was blue. We called out to see if we could get anyone's attention.
“Cooooweeee” we shouted in unison, the sound echoing in all directions.
We were laughing and having a grand time until something shouted back, something that still shakes me to my core to this day.
Some yobbo crackhead chick in her fifties with this ratty pink tank top that was all stretched half showing her saggy titties. “What the fuck you think you little cunts doing down here.” This chick screeched at us through her few teeth or something along the lines of that. She just exploded at us with a barrage of threats.
We were shocked silenced moving together to make one mass.
One of the boys screamed when a skinny guy emerged from the darkness. He was covered in tattoos with scraggly hair and a beard, he was all crazy eyed and pantless.
Someone yelled out to run and it was all the motivation we needed.
We could hear them screaming and the guy ran after us, we heard glass shattering behind us, they must have thrown a bottle. We were legging it.
We got split up in our running, I fell down, tripping over some rubbish, one mate stayed back to help me, this left us without a torch. We came across the same kid who slipped over yesterday, he had slipped down again cutting open his other knee. He wore those with badges of honor at school, but he was blubbering like a baby at this point.
He had the flickering torch and it disoriented us more than helped, as it turned on and off every time he took a step. I thought we were lost but we found the other grate, then eventually the entrance.
The others were already climbed down, we were soon by their side panting in the grass and wiping away our tears so the others couldn't see.
We ran back over to the skatepark and immediately told every kid we saw.
That was the wildest shit we had ever experienced. Sure we’d seen crazy up on the street but to have it jump out at you from the shadows in a storm water drain was next level.
By that night one of the other boys had spilled to his parents about our escapades and a couple of other mums got phone calls, three got in trouble, two of us didn't, including me.
I never stepped foot back in that tunnel, I swam at the weir more times than I could count afterwards though and never encountered anyone else too sketchy.
I think only a year or two later I saw on the news people dying in storm water drains somewhere else in Aus, we never realized how dangerous they could be back then. Lol.
Every party or get together afterwards it was a crowd favorite to bring up. It was a good conversation starter and joined the tales amongst my friends of the weird shit that happens in ‘Helltown’.
Growing up and looking back they were probably just homeless drug addicts freaked out from a bunch of children's voices yelling out coooweee from the underground where they thought they were alone. That would have scared the shit outta me if I was them.

From looking at their match history, LIGhtYgo tends to reroll Shen + Zyra or Zoe + Illaoi (1 tank + 1 carry) but sometimes they manage to 3 star everything alongside Aatrox.

LIGhtYgo also frequently itemises Zoe with Statikk Shiv, 3 star or otherwise, to stack Zoe's passive as much as possible.Passive: Kills increase the number of ricochets by 1 for the rest of combat.Now, I should mention that Zoe's tooltip here is misleading and frankly incorrect. Zoe gains more ricochets if she participates in a kill, also known as takedowns.
And that is why Statikk Shiv is so phenomenal for Zoe. Not only is she reducing the MR of enemy units (helps Ghostly and your Magic Damage Dealers) but the damage from Shiv will give Zoe takedown credit once those enemy units perish.
So, even with just a Shiv and at 2 star, Zoe can be very impactful as her passive continues to easily stack.
Thus Zoe has great synergy with other AP carries like Zyra, Morgana, Teemo, Alune etc as they soften enemy units for each other to clean up.
And so Zoe is an incredible secondary carry as she needs very little to come online
You can infer this from LIGhtYgo's match history as they tend to succeed more when Zoe isn't their primary carry but rather secondary.
Although the buff to Zoe in 14.10 should change that, especially combined with the buffs to Ghostly, Warden, Aatrox, Behemoth and Jax.
Zoe's Weaknesses
- Firstly, she can struggle into tanky frontliners as it'll take her more time to stack her passive.
- Secondly, Zoe can lose 1v1s as her ult will no longer ricochet (no targets left to bounce to)
Spooky Solution
But that’s why Ghostly can provide so much value to Zoe.Those Spectres will help Zoe get through tanks and once they're concentrated, Zoe's single target will nuke which even allows her to win those 1v1s

I also find there to be a really odd tempo where I need to find Zoe 3 but also hit level 9 to find Udyr. I did learn later that you don't really need to 3 star Zoe to get to 9, and it's certainly not impossible to hit Zoe 3 at level 9.Although, it seems that LIGhtYgo resolves this problem by keeping the option of Zyra Reroll open. (They play boards akin to this one occasionally)
Also, sometimes the Inkshadow item doesn't tend to be that useful, especially if it's Tattoo of Bombardment, as you don't have an AD carry.
Lastly, the position of the Ghostly units is really important so the Spectres concentrate onto Zoe's target(s). This can be really awkward if your primary Ghostly tank has a Stoneplate.
I have lost games because I moved Zoe away from my Ghostly units last second :(
But by far the biggest problem I have found is how much better the comp becomes at 9 than level 8. I personally find rerolling at level 8 to be the easiest to find 3 star Illaoi, Zoe, and Galio 2 whilst also being able to field 8 units which enable many important synergies.
Essentially, I don't like rerolling at either 7 or 8 with this comp. So I decided to comp up with a new comp to address this problem which is Altruist Arcanist.

This board also has a primary tank option between Amumu or Illaoi so you can play around whichever you manage to 3 star.
Although your secondary carry here is Lux who also holds your utility items like Morello and Shiv.
The Lissandra Nerfs really hurt...
Honestly, this may be extreme bias due to a bad few games, but I find a Lux 2 to be more reliable than post-nerf Lissandra. Lux feels like she needs a lot less to function better as she CC's more units, usually targets and slows down the enemy carry, and softens up enemy units for Zoe.(VOD of why I don't like Lissandra)
The combination of Lux, Amumu, and Illaoi feels incredibly solid
Now the reason why I don't give Zoe Shiv on this board is due to a few reasons - Altruists prolong combat due to the mana reave, damage reduction, ally healing, and the trait resistances - That allows your frontline to be super beefy especially since the resistances are great for Bruisers/Wardens (loads of EHP) - Lux will have more AS than Zoe (Lux: 0.7x1.5=1.05 vs Zoe: 0.75x1.2=0.9) - And finally, opening up that item slot allows you to give Zoe a third damage item
Why not itemise Soraka?
Your secondary carry items should be going to Lux as she has more AP from Arcanist.While Soraka can do a lot of damage, you only really care about her mana reave because it's such a powerful utility ability.
Regardless, Soraka will gain AP naturally from her passive as your frontline will continue to heal during combat. As she gains more AP, she heals your frontline more, who then stall for longer.
Lastly, the following 2 combinations are literally perfect for Altruist Arcanist.
Lux, Teemo, Thresh, Volibear, Galio, Morgana Darius, Bard, Soraka, Galio, Lissandra

In the 14.10 Meta Report by Khym and YBY1, Arcanist Zoe is described as an Easy Top 4 Comp (if I'm reading that correctly)Khym also has a guide on how to play Zoe/Illaoi RR here
And what's great here is that, again, as you reroll you have option between Amumu or Illaoi 3 as your tank (however Illaoi is better due to the Arcanist AP)
Also, with the 4 Warden buff, this frontline feels great and buys plenty of time for Zoe to scale.
And this variation certainly has the highest ceiling out of all the comps if you get a Porcelain Spatula
6 Arcanist, 4 Warden, 4 Porcelain is extremely powerful.
Luckily, you can easily pivot into this board from Altruist Arcanist but pivoting is a tad more difficult to do if you're playing Ghoe.Similarly, both the Warden and Altruist boards can tech in Hwei at 8 to make hitting the 3 stars easier.

So if you're low rolling Zoe, Hwei can easily save the day.
Regardless, all 3 comps make up for at least one of Zoe's weaknesses. They either buy her plenty of time to scale or they tremendously enable her damage and, in turn, her passive.
And, at the very least, Zoe is great item holder due to her buffed passive
Speaking of which, let's talk about Zoe's items now.
Zoe's Items
But generally, MR reduction is necessary (even if it's not on her) so Zoe can kill units and stack her passive. Shiv is far more preferable to build but Ionic still does the job.
But I'm a simple guy, I want to see BIG damage numbers and huge ricochets, thus I forgo Shiv on Zoe for pure damage items.
But before we get into those items, let's talk about which casting item Zoe will want
Casting item: Shojin vs Adaptive Math
First cast:
Zoe is 0/60 and Shojin/Adaptive give 15 manaShojin:
0.75-1x3 = 4 secondsAdaptive:
0.75-1x4 = 5.3 secondsSecond Cast onwards
Shojin:
0.75-1x4 = 5.3 secondsAdaptive:
10 mana after 0.7 seconds 40 mana every 3 autos every 4 seconds Then 1 more auto for 10 more manaThus Adaptive: 0.75-1x4 = 5.3 seconds
Considering Adaptive gives more AP, is not dependant on auto attacking, will continue to generate mana even if Zoe gets stunned (or has to walk up) and it grants MR (useful against magic damage), I believe Adaptive is the superior mana generating item on Zoe if she has no bonus attack speed
If Zoe has just a Shiv, then her cast frequency is much faster [(0.75x1.2)-1x4 = 4.4 seconds] with Shojin.
TLDR:
- Give Zoe Adaptive if you're going solely damage items on her (Rabadon/Archangel's + Jewelled Gauntlet)
- Give Zoe Shojin if she has any bonus attack speed (Nashor's/Shiv/Pumping Up)
AP item: Rabadon or Archangel's
I prefer Rabadon because it's more upfront AP alongside a great damage amplifier. However Archangel's can be more realistic to build and eventually it will outscale Rabadon's AP.
Increase Casting/Damage Multiplier
Or you can give her more damage amp for more, well, damage. Those are items like Jewelled Gauntlet or even items like Guardbreaker or Giant Slayer.
Although if you go the pure damage route, you need Zoe 3 and a ton of AP, so Zoe can stack her passive by one shotting whatever she touches.
SUPER TDLR:
Generally great build : Shiv/Nashor's + Shojin + Rabadon/JewelledMy favourite: Adaptive + Rabadon + Jewelled

Pivot Potential
So you don't absolutely need to reroll Zoe, you can just as easily use Zoe to Fast 9 instead, especially around Storyweaver, and pivot into a Legendary board.

For example, I think Low Interest Rates is turbo giga insane in 14.10 because you can hit max interest rate at 2-6 (by the latest) at which point you're earning 6 gold a turn.
Lastly, I'm currently working on a Rek'sai reroll comp that is incredibly funny so look forward to that!

I commented this on a separate post but thought I’d develop it more and hear your guys thoughts, this is basically my general theory of what Joyboy being the original pirate to the Ancient Kingdom was like
Essentially, I think the world of one piece back then (pre-floods), consisted of one large or a couple large continents comprised of the Ancient Kingdom, tribes of the various races we’ve seen so far, and the 20 other kingdoms that eventually founded the WG, each being much more secluded with closed borders as the lack of oceanic borders and shared landmass made every country much more territorial and constantly at war (similar to our own world). I think the Ancient Kingdom must’ve had a strict status quo, with Joyboy paralleling Oden being the natural born adventurer who wanted to explore. Refusing to follow the rules of his Kingdom, he became the first pirate and first person to actually set out to sea and encounter all different sorts of people and races.
Through his explorations around the world and infectious ability to bring smiles and make friends/allies wherever he went, he was able to bring all races together to the Ancient Kingdom and usher in a sort of prosperous utopia where everybody working together contributed to it becoming the most advanced civilization. Think about it, a country where the fishman, giants, sky people, buccaneers, minks, and etc all use their unique abilities and knowledge in unison to make the best kingdom, what a beautiful concept that’s reflected also in Luffy’s crew and extended allies. Who wouldn’t want to leave their shitty oppressive country and be a part of this? This scared and threatened the other kingdoms, which led them to team up against the Ancient Kingdom and segregate the world again to maintain their social hierarchy (void century, creation of the red line, celestial dragons, etc).
This would line up with several other existing theories, where all the races seem to worship some sort of Sun God and have a variation of a sun-esque tattoo, symbolizing their allegiance to the Ancient Kingdom. It also follows the Pangea theories but I won’t go to deep into all those.
A key element to this theory comes with the character Toki. Being someone who personally knew Joyboy and of his eventual return, she fell in love and decided to have her child with Oden because she thought he was the spitting image of Joyboy’s adventurous and infectious spirit, and believed that their child would inherit that same will and be the Joyboy of the current era. She likely saw the same thing with Roger and that’s why she put her full faith and trust into them being the men who would help her set the pieces in motion for the next generation to bring the Dawn (maybe she was Joyboy’s lover back in the day, who knows). Obviously neither Ace or Momonosuke became Joyboy, but it would’ve made sense for her to make that wager. It’s a common theme in One Piece for inherited will to not come from actual genetics, but nonetheless Roger and Oden still were critical in influencing the next era and Luffy (Joyboy’s actual return).

Hey ya’ll! This one is for tattoo community in SLC.
I’m getting tattooed again soon at a local american traditional studio. It’s fairly new (under 3 years) and an artist has quoted me $300. Now, they do great work, but this tattoo is fairly small like 2x2 inches. I am okay to pay for good artwork and a comfortable situation (female artist, clean, queer etc)
My question is, how much are a lot of these artists making?? I have gotten tattooed at Black Honey as well, and a tattoo that took 45 minutes was also $300. If they are tattooing 2-3 times a day, four-five days a week, we are talking about some serious money here.
Obviously I believe everyone deserves a livable wage and I know they have to put their own money into retirement accounts, health insurance etc, but wow that is some money! It’s unfortunate because I really respect tattoo artists and hair stylists, but while they can raise their prices, the rest of our wages (healthcare worker here) are not going up.
I am wondering if this is on par with other areas? Is there a lot of money to be made in the industry or does the things I mentioned prior and things like booth rent, and supplies take a big cut? Also, what is the expectation for tipping when the cost gets to this level?
P.S, I don’t need to hear that I am being ripped off. This appears to be the going rate at more younger generation studios such as Black Honey, Everybody Tattoo Studio, Sweetneedles, Only Forever etc. And every artist is different, I am happy for ya’ll if your artist is really affordable.

2024.05.14 20:14 Techn0-Viking Artesian Cloaks (FSMP cloak mod) suddenly not working on save with Legacy of the Dragonborn
It's as the title says. I've been playing Skyrim for ages, and I have multiple saves separated by profiles in MO2. On all of them, I have FSMP and its requirements, it works perfectly, etc. Artesian Cloaks is fully functional on all saves and profiles, except for one. On all saves, FSMP is fully functional as well.
However I recently decided to get Legacy for the first time, I installed all the associated patches for it, loaded the game, and played. All FSMP mods work perfectly and beautifully on this profile and its saves, except for Artesian Cloaks. Everything else is fine, just not this mod.
I have run LOOT several times over, FNIS, I've changed my load order manually to move various patches around, and none of it works. Artesian Cloaks just outright does not seem to work with Legacy installed.

My dad was always the more violent, abusive parent. That being said, this generated a lot of pity for my mother. But I came to the terms that she made her bed from the beginning.
For context, my dad abandoned me and my mother along with my two half-siblings (my dad’s kids) to gamble and see other women for 5 years and lied about working overseas. I was fatherless for the first 5 years of my life and my dad decided to waltz in when he was out of options. My mom found out and even though I wish she’d leave him there and then, she accepted him back into the family because she believed it would be easier for her and all of us if we had a male father figure. While my father was in our lives, he was physically and emotionally abusive to me and my siblings. He was unemployed the entire time and relied on scamming people for money. He also emotionally abused my mom to a huge extent (calling her stupid, useless, etc).
My mom would always cry on my shoulder and tell me about how she wanted to divorce my dad but didn’t for the sake of the family. I’d be her therapist, telling her everything is going to be okay, etc. It confused me for a long time because she would say those things, then suddenly talk about how she was so in love with him and wanted a tattoo of his name on her back.
She also trauma-dumped on me and told me things that a grown woman shouldn’t tell a child. Things about her own abusive childhood, her sexual trauma, her past boyfriends, her and my dad’s sex life, etc. In a way, I felt very special and entitled because my mom would tell me that she "never told anyone else". (later found out she did the same thing to my older half-sister)
She’d talk shit about my older half-siblings and made me resent them at a young age. Whenever my sister brought me food, she’d say "Your sister is trying to get you fat out of jealousy because she's not getting my affection” and weird shit like that. (Thankfully, I have a close relationship with them now)
Another weird thing about her was that she would always get super defensive when I talked shit about my father with her. Her reasoning was "I’m his spouse so I’m allowed to talk shit about him.” But apparently, it was okay if I was her therapist and didn’t express any of my feelings. In addition to this, whenever me and my siblings were punished severely by my father, she would try to demonize us at tell us it was our fault for provoking him. But when she was abused by him, all of the sudden she had this victim complex where she urges us to comfort her all while we’re hurt probably as much, if not worse than her. She failed as a mother to protect us. No doubt about it.
I guess the last straw was when my dad stole my scholarship money through direct deposit. I almost had to drop out of college and had a family friend cover my expenses for me. But what hurt the most was when she defended my dad and said that I was being selfish and impatient for being angry at him. I got pissed and stood up for myself for the first time. They disowned me and made me beg for forgiveness so I had a place to stay for winter break. I humiliated myself and my mom talked shit about me in front of my fucking face, twisting up the story and saying how I spent the scholarship money myself.
This was the woman who told me that I was her "best friend" and that she "couldn’t live without me". It felt like someone stabbed me in the back 30 times over and over again. I stood up to myself once again and called her out on her bullshit privately without humiliating her. I told her about how she didn’t treat me as a daughter and just treated me like a tool she could use for her own emotional dysfunction. Since that day, she doesn’t really talk to me anymore and practically cuts me off emotionally and uses my other siblings as her therapists instead.
I grieved. I cried. A lot. But then I realized that I wasn’t crying for her. I was only crying over the idea of who my mother was, which was shattered by who she actually is. Coming to terms with that made me feel much better.

born from the ashes of war was a country of exponential growth and promising prosperity.
But 25 years ago from now, upon the assassination of it's 5th generation leader, it was thrown into utter chaos and mayhem. Neighboring countries, which were once old enemies, had formed a temporary alliance and together they took advantage of this disorder to raise the divide amongst Novany's people, hoping to conquer them in a joint skirmish.

He wasn't smiling. His demeanor was more nonchalant.

Novany,
born from the ashes of war was a country of exponential growth and promising prosperity.
But 25 years ago from now, upon the assassination of it's 5th generation leader, it was thrown into utter chaos and mayhem. So, this topic is an interesting one and isn't talked about enough for me. Your house or apartment number radiates at a number based on the number itself it is one digit or the sequence being added into one.
For example, if you live in apartment 304, then your # will be 7 because you add all numbers until you get a single digit. If you live in an apartment that equals 7, you may find yourself extra inquisitive or connected to some type of contract or relationship. Some people living in 7 homes say that it ends up being related to ghosts and others notice it can be connected to learning about something more.
If you live in an apartment with 302, then your number will be 5. This is better than living in a 104/5 apartment because 104 is 14 and 14 is a karmic number. It took me about 10 years to get over tattoos, but miracles do happen. I have always been accepting of LGBTQ. I feel like no young American are expendable. I need them all around to be professionals when I need them as an elderly person. Also I have been married over 30 years, But I also believe that we heteros have not been without reproach in the relationship and marriage department, so let LGTBQ have a crack at it. I think when my generation starts a statement with, "I'm from the old school" the BS train has left the station. Be patient with us poor Boomers.

Cait's got a duplication glitch I don't want. When I try to unequip an item she auto switches to another apparel item. When I try to take an item from her I have one and so does she, so that's fun. My husband and I (30M & 27F) went out to dinner with my in-laws (69M & 65F) at a local bar.
My FIL got up to go to the restroom and our main dish was brought out. Our waitress had several tattoos, one of which I particularly liked and commented on, telling her I thought it was unique and very well done. She started to tell me a little backstory of the tattoo, that it represents her childhood nickname of Lollipop.
My MIL, not yet involved in the conversation as she was looking at the food plates chimes in with, "Hey Lollipop, nobody brought us our salads." To which my husband and myself immediately told her that was inappropriate to say. The waitress also looked a little shocked and then scurried away, coming back shortly with salads.
While the waitress was away, MIL was mad we called her out in front of the waitress and we defended our side saying that her explanation of a childhood nickname is not an invite to be called by said nickname, especially by someone you are serving. When my FIL returned to the table he could tell there was a little tension and she told him we were policing her words so she better "just not talk anymore tonight."
We have had experiences with her and my FIL in the past where we wait until later to call out inapproiate words/phrases and they deny ever having said something wrong and say we are "putting words in their mouths" and trying to make them the bad guy because thats what our generation does. So waiting until a quiet moment isn't really a priority for us anymore.
Now they've brought it up several times, saying we are overdramatic and should mind our own language instead of theirs, because we like to use curse words a lot.
