- Evening: Head to the airport for your flight back to Bangalore. Ensure your flight departs late in the evening or at night.

I wanted to plan the 4 island tour on an earlier date so that I could reschedule it if there are chances of heavy rain on that particular day, but I couldn't figure out a way to do so without making it more hectic.
Am I missing out any important places in this itinerary ? I would like to visit more scenic places rather than fill it with adventures. We do not enjoy parties either.

2024.05.19 14:07 UncleRuso Thailand has left a heartfelt impression on me
Tomorrow I leave after being here for two weeks. I tried my best to integrate and soak in the culture as much as possible, and I can say that I have grown fond of the culture and people. I know that I merely scratched the surface, but the attitude and energy of the locals I've interacted with and places I have visited were wholesome.
I understand that light comes with dark; everyone and every country have their problems to face nonetheless.
Maybe I resonate with the values not just of Thailand and it's people, but a more eastern approach in itself. This place has shown me what people can be like, and it is a very humbling experience due to the fact that at least in America, it feels very cut throat and far from being oriented towards humanity and kindness.
Memorable experiences: -The energy I felt going to Big Buddha. Very powerful. -Phuket Elephant Sanctuary. I will be donating a little when I can to support elephants which are rescued from unethical conditions. -Going off the beaten path in, Chalong, Kata/Karon, and Old Town Phuket. I really appreciate the local areas and immersing myself in them. -Doing a cooking class at the Blue Elephant. Honestly changed my mind on how fun cooking could be. The ingredients are so simple but when brought together they are magical. I have always liked Thai food in general, a blessing to learn how to do it. -Giving a little more than expected. I would say I am in a position where I could give more here. Even though back in America I live close to being pay check to pay check, it was nice to give more when I can. Whether it was getting a smoothie, using inDrive, or tipping at a restaurant. I know if I was in the other person's position it would be a blessing.
Just my thoughts. I am very grateful and honored to have visited this country.

2024.05.17 20:43 Any_Word6353 Explore Thailand: From Bustling Cities to Serene Beaches, Your Ultimate Travel Guide
Traveling in Thailand offers a rich and diverse experience, from bustling cities to serene beaches and lush jungles. Here's a comprehensive guide to help you plan your trip:
Major Destinations - **Bangkok**: The capital city is known for its vibrant street life, ornate temples, and bustling markets. Key attractions include the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Arun, and the Chatuchak Weekend Market. Don’t miss a boat ride on the Chao Phraya River and exploring the vibrant nightlife in areas like Khao San Road and Sukhumvit.
- **Chiang Mai**: Located in the mountainous region of northern Thailand, Chiang Mai is famous for its historic temples, such as Wat Phra Singh and Wat Chedi Luang. The city is also a gateway to trekking and adventure activities in the surrounding hills, and it hosts the Yi Peng Lantern Festival in November.
- **Phuket**: Thailand’s largest island, Phuket, is known for its stunning beaches, such as Patong, Kata, and Karon. It offers a mix of high-end resorts, vibrant nightlife, and water activities. The nearby Phi Phi Islands and Phang Nga Bay are popular day trips.
- **Krabi**: This province is renowned for its dramatic limestone cliffs, clear waters, and beautiful beaches. Railay Beach and Ao Nang are popular spots, along with excursions to the islands of Koh Phi Phi and Koh Lanta.
- **Ayutthaya**: The ancient capital of the Kingdom of Siam, Ayutthaya is a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring impressive temple ruins, such as Wat Mahathat and Wat Phra Si Sanphet.
Cultural Etiquette
- **Respect for the Monarchy**: Thai people hold their royal family in high regard, so showing disrespect towards the monarchy can lead to serious consequences.
- **Temple Etiquette**: Dress modestly when visiting temples (cover shoulders and knees), remove shoes before entering, and avoid pointing your feet towards Buddha images.
- **Greetings**: The traditional Thai greeting, the “wai,” involves pressing your palms together and bowing slightly. It is polite to return a wai when someone greets you this way.
Food and Drink
- **Street Food**: Thai street food is renowned worldwide. Must-try dishes include Pad Thai, Som Tum (papaya salad), Tom Yum Goong (spicy shrimp soup), and Mango Sticky Rice.
- **Dining Etiquette**: Use a spoon and fork for most dishes. The spoon is held in the right hand and used to eat, while the fork is used to push food onto the spoon.
- **Drinks**: Tap water is not generally safe to drink. Stick to bottled water and try local beverages like Thai iced tea and fresh coconut water.
Transportation
- **Tuk-tuks and Taxis**: Tuk-tuks are a fun way to travel short distances in cities. Always negotiate the fare before starting the ride. Metered taxis are also available and should use the meter.
- **Public Transport**: Bangkok has an efficient BTS Skytrain and MRT subway system. Buses and songthaews (shared taxis) are common in other areas.
- **Rentals**: Motorbike and car rentals are popular for exploring at your own pace. Ensure you have the appropriate licenses and wear helmets for safety.
Safety Tips
- **Health**: Stay hydrated, use insect repellent, and consider vaccinations for diseases like Hepatitis A and B, and Typhoid.
- **Scams**: Be wary of common scams, such as overly friendly locals offering tours or deals that seem too good to be true.
- **Travel Insurance**: It’s advisable to have travel insurance that covers health, accidents, and theft.
Best Time to Visit
- **Cool Season**: November to February is the most pleasant time to visit, with cooler temperatures and less humidity.
- **Hot Season**: March to May can be very hot, but it’s a good time for beach destinations.
- **Rainy Season**: June to October brings monsoon rains, but it’s still possible to travel and enjoy fewer crowds and lush landscapes.
Thailand’s diverse offerings and warm hospitality make it a fantastic destination for all types of travelers. Enjoy your journey!....

2024.05.09 11:18 yogeshraiden Our First International Journey Together
Hi Everyone,
We are an Indian Couple (M 32, F 31) who travelled Thailand for 8 days 7 Nights in March 2024. I first travelled to Thailand (Koh Pha Ngan, Krabi and Bangkok) back in 2019 (pre-covid) and wanted Thailand to be the first place to take my spouse on our First International Trip Together. Our itinerary this time consisted of Phuket, Khao Sok National Park and Bangkok. I had recently learned about Reddit and how to use it effectively and read a lot of info posted on this forum and now want to pay it back for future travelers. I have tried to share as much information as I can along with the transportation and accommodations we stayed during our trip. This is a packed itinerary, hence please feel free to tailor it as per convenience.
Day 1: Arriving at Phuket International Airport -> Phuket Old Town -> Wat Chalong -> A Blanket and a Pillow -> Kata Beach -> Sunday Night Market (Phuket Old Town)
- We landed in Phuket International Airport around 12 noon local time. Visa was free on Arrival and we had booked our SIMs in advance on Klook. We chose DTAC SIM Cards (10 Days Validity and 50 GB) and the counter was present as soon as you exit Immigration
- Once outside we proceeded towards Gate 6 Exit -> A short walk to Domestic Terminal Exit 3 -> Right outside you will find the Orange Bus to head to Phuket Old Town. The trip costed 100 Bhat each and we reached our accommodation at the Arbern Bistro Hotel in Phuket Old Town.
- After a brief refresh, we headed for lunch at Lao Pa Sat at the beautiful Phuket Old Town Street and then caught a Songthaew at Ranong Road to head to our first stop at Wat Chalong. We skipped the Big Buddha and directly headed via Grab for a relaxing sunset at 'A Blanket and a Pillow' followed by some beach time at Kata Beach.
- Finally once again took a Grab back to the Hotel, refreshed ourselves and went to the famous Sunday Night Market at Phuket Old Town which was just walking distance from our hotel. Tried a lot of the local foods and desserts and was a great way to End Day 1
Day 2: James Bond Island, Phang Nga Bay, Hong Island -> Back to Hotel -> Patong Beach and Bangla Road
- Booked a tour via Klook for James Bond Island, Phang Nga Bay and Hong Island with Kayaking options. Though great at first, it became a little monotonous with the constant kayaking to very similar cave structures. Lunch was decent.
- Got dropped back to the hotel and after a quick recovery proceeded to Patong Beach using the Blue Songthaews
- This was probably the best part of the trip. It was kind of like entering into a completely new vibe very different from Old Town Phuket. We had a fun time at the beach taking part in the open Zumba sessions in the evening, great food at shops and cafes and the mandatory walk down the famous Bangla road. We headed back via Grab to the hotel and called it a night.
Day 3: Phuket Old Town -> Khao Sok Village
- The next leg of the itinerary involved checking out from our stay, a short grab ride to Phuket Bus Terminal 2 and on a 3 hour bus ride to Khao Sok Village via Bus 465
- Once we reached the village, we had a hotel pick arranged to take us to "Our Jungle House" and post a quick lunch went to explore the village as well as partake in a traditional Thai massage.
- The town has a great sleepy, chill vibe but we had to get back early to our stay due to the distance and walking involved (Outside of the main road the pathways leading to the accommodation are not well lit) and called it a night.
Day 4: Khao Sok Village -> Khao Sok National Park
- We booked the 3 Day 2 Night Package with our hotel and hence Day 4 involved checking out from a Tree house stay, placing our main luggage with the Hotel and starting towards the Khao Sok National Park.
- After a 1 to 1.5 cab ride with a short stop to get some snacks, we arrived at the Pier and headed by Long Tail boat over the Cheow Lan Lake to our stay for the night - A floating bamboo house along with several other guests
- Post a quick lunch, we had some fun with snorkeling and kayaking and in the evening headed out for a hike followed by a bamboo raft ride to some caves. We were fortunate enough to witness an elephant in the forest having its daily snack.
- We witnessed a beautiful sunset and were back to our accommodation and shortly after dinner, called it a night. We had difficulty in getting sleep due to frequent power outages and warm nights as well some bit of movement from the waves.
Day 5: Khao Sok Village -> Surat Thani Airport -> Bangkok
- We woke up pretty early to witness a beautiful sunset, headed out for a short boat ride to witness birds and limestone structures in the morning, had breakfast and headed back to the Pier
- Once at the pier, we went back to our hotel in Khao Sok Village, had lunch and then had a mini van arranged to take us to the Surat Thani Airport for the flight to Bangkok
- We arrived in Bangkok at 9 30 pm and then took the A2 Bus to Victory Monument. These buses are parked in front of the Arrival Hall on the first floor of Terminal 1 (Exit No 6)
- After a 1 hr ride to Victory Monument, had dinner and proceeded to our accommodation for the next 3 nights at Fyn Park Hotel near Victory Monument
Day 6: Grand Palace -> Wat Pho -> Wat Arun -> Asiatique Riverfront -> Khao San Road
- Started our bright and early and proceeded from Victory Monument BTS to Saphan Takshin BTS - Proceeded to Sathon Pier and took the boat with the Orange Flag.
- Proceeded to the Grand Palace, went for Lunch at a place called "The Sixth", Wat Pho followed by Wat Arun. In Wat Pho we also partook in a Traditional Massage and was a great experience. Wat Arun was bit of a surprise with a lot of locals dressed in traditional clothing and having photographers clicking their pics. It was difficult to navigate or admire the beauty of the place without getting in someone's way.
- Post the temple visit, we took the Ferry to Asiatique Riverfront - Absolutely loved the vibe of the place and spent a good 1-2 hours exploring the different food joints.
- We then took the last Ferry out from Asiatique to Phra Arthit to explore the infamous Khao San road. The Ferry ride in the night moving from the well established side of Bangkok with High rise buildings to witnessing the beautiful Wat Arun in the night was a tourist attraction in itself. Finally arrived at Phra Arthit and proceeded to have dinner at "Madame Musur Bar and Restaurant".
- It was time to hit Khao San road and man what an experience. Loud Music, line of people inviting us to step into their pubs and bars, it was confusion and chaos at max. We briefly stepped into a Seven Eleven to catch up breaths and hydrate ourselves and witnessed the biggest line in a Seven Eleven I have seen in all of Thailand. Multiple people queuing up with liquor, snacks, quick bites and then proceeding to head out in the jungle of Khao San.
- We then booked a grab back to our stay after thoroughly enjoying what Khao San had to offer.
Day 7: Klong Lat Mayom Floating Market -> Chinatown -> Talad Noi -> Lumpini Park -> Jodd Fairs Night Market
- Once again an early start to the Victory BTS to Bang Khun Non MRT and then took Exit 3 to catch the free feeder bus to Klong Lat Mayom Floating Market. Explored the market for a couple of hours as well as went on a boat ride along the riverways of the market
- Returned back via feeder bus to the BTS station and headed to Wat Mangkon MRT which is the famous Chinatown - Had a quick lunch and first ventured to Talad Noi to capture in the beauty of the wall paintings as well as a quick coffee stop at Mother Roaster.
- Proceed to walk around Chinatown, grab snacks along the way and then headed to Lumpini Park via BTS
- Spent the evening at Lumphini park and took a grab back to the hotel
- Post some time, we proceeded towards the Jodd Fairs Night Market at Rama 9 for Dinner and returned back to the hotel
Day 8: China Town Shopping
- Our final day was reserved for Shopping and we went to Chinatown to pick up souvenirs and gifts for friends and family. We did want to go to Chatuchak Weekend Market but the shopping at China Town took a lot more time than expected and we could not get to see this amazing place. Hopefully next time we will have the fortune of visiting Chatuchak.
- Checked out from the hotel, took a grab to DMK Airport and post the mandatory duty free liquor and chocolate shopping landed safely at the Chennai International Airport
Note: This is my first time detailing out an itinerary and would love to seek feedback. I plan to add photos and probably add a few places to the list which have been missed. Please let me know in the comments if there is any specific information which is needed from our Itinerary. I really enjoy travelling to Thailand and experiencing the beautiful country and thankful for this reddit group with awesome tips and guidance.

2024.04.12 01:08 MattyKGee I genuine can't picture how Raian would beat Gaolang
I'm not saying Raian loses to Gaolang if the fight ever happens, he would probably win mid to high diff. But what techniques would Raian even use?
- Earth scraper is just a foot sweep
- Hard slam is a basic slam
- Mountain breaker is a double punch inspired from karate, even though the movement in kata is meant to depict a throw instead
- Leg thrust is a regular kick
- Buddha killer is a regular elbow uppercut
- Lionbite is an instakill against fodder but we haven't been shown how it even works
- Against Willem he ducks and punches
Gaolang being the muay thai expert can logically speaking do most of these moves but more accurate. So how exactly would Raian win besides somehow being unable to get knocked out by rock shattering punches and berserk through everything using 100% removal?

Hello All! I'm a 32 year old woman living in the southern United States who has never traveled internationally. I'm scared as hell to take this leap, but I feel it will be important for my personal development. 2024.03.08 11:03 CoomerDoomer92 [CopyPastaFB] ADIL ???
| ADIL ??? Saya rasa ramai pernah nampak kedai dan promosi ni. 1. Nama kedai ni Baker’s Cottage - Dia buat promosi yang amat menarik.
- Seekor ayam panggang pada harga 16.90 sahaja
- Banyak tahun dah dia buat
- Strategi dia sangat power
- Dulu Baker’s Cottage ni mcm dah sendu sket...….
- Tapi diaorang buat strategy loss leader ni, Ramai orang datang membeli
- Dan dia berjaya buka banyak outlet satu Malaysia
- Tapi kenapa saya letak tajuk ADIL ??
- Macam ni citer nya
- Baker’s Cottage ni kedai lama.. brand dah lama
- Apa dia orang buat?
- Jumlah transaki ayam diaorang capai level puluhan juta sebulan
- Senang cerita 70% ayam kat Malaysia datang dari diaorang
- Walau awak beli dari kedai melayu kat pasar, kemungkinan BESAR ayam tu datang dari giant ni ni...Kadang boleh kata hampir pasti
- Yes mereka la giant.. Leong Hup salah satu giant terbesar di Malaysia
- Sebab apa giant, sebab mereka la yang hari hari decide berapa harga ayam nak jual kat pasaran
- Kita dok tibai menteri kalau ayam naik harga… sebenarnya kartel ni lagi besar dari kementerian
- Susah nak faham harga ayam
- Lepas tu LEONG HUP supply ayam kat BC ,
- Pastu BC beli oven combi...panggang ayam... jual sekor ayam panggang harga 16.90
- Order banner besar letak depan kedai...Ayam Panggang 16.90
- Hahaha... terdiam gak tengok harga dia
- Untung la pelanggan....hari hari masuk...beli ayam sauk gak roti dan lain lain...Bijak betul strategi ni
- Tapi peniaga lain gigit jari
- RM 16 tu kalau peniaga lain ...harga kos belum masak, tak masuk kos pekerja , sewa dan lain lain
- Pengsan beb
- Dah celah mana nak bersaing... tapi ni bukan masalah peniaga ayam jer...
Maka company start up tak leh lawan guna kekuatan produk semata mata
- Sebab tu banyak brand start up main sentimen lain... contoh ..perkauman, agama, simpati, gimik, influencer, gimik, dan lain lain.
Tapi apa daya saing yang ada time tu...Lepas tu cakap peniaga ni penunggan agama
- Contoh mudah cuba tengok Syukor Burger la...... Dia buat burger level street...Sama taraf dgn McD... pada harga marhaen... (So jangan compare kan dia dgn brand Woodfire lak)
- So kalau Syukor Burger letak sebelah sebelah dgn McD... of course la automatik orang akan cakap burger syukor tak sedap, service tak power, brand tak standard, staff tak friendly...
- Mekdi tu dah berpuluh tahun niaga kot...Syukor baru setahun buka kedai burger... Mmg tak leh lawan
- Sebab tu dia kena guna strength personal branding dia dulu... tarik pelanggan...
- Nak perbaiki ni take time... takkan boleh nyer tetiba terrer.... heheheheh
- Saya takder apa apa against Leong Hup dan Baker's Cottage... Saya ada je beli ayam dia...sedap gak for the price...
- Faham yang brand start up kadang kena jual mahal... Kalau tak nak beli takper tapi jangan jatuhkan mereka dgn kecaman berjemaah
- Saya tak pertikai ADIL ke Baker's Cottage jual harga ayam murah...dia power buat strategi...dia ada kelebihan..adil la guna.. No prob..Respect!!!
- Tapi saya nak tekan kan.. Adil ke Bulan ramadhan nanti , kalau korang nampak orang meniaga ayam golek kat Pasar Ramadhan... jual harga RM 22 sekor... pastu cakap "ni la peniaga nak gi haji balik hari, menipu harga jer...Baker's Cottage boleh je jual murah..."
- Jeng woiii !!!
- Saya menulis pasal dunia F&B dan perkongsian pengalaman dan pandangan saya.. Banyak lagi content cenggini kat FB Saya.

The Final Instructions of National Teacher Kozen Daito (Kozen Daito Kokushi Yui Kai)
All you people, you enter this monastery to study Zen and Buddha-Dharma. Don’t do it for clothes or food. If you’ve got shoulders, you won’t be without clothes. If you’ve got a mouth, you won’t go without eating. Always direct yourself, 24 hours a day, to the place beyond knowing. Study hard, reach it, master it, and leave. Time is like an arrow; so be careful, don’t occupy your mind with miscellaneous affairs. You’ve got to see that! You’ve got to see that!
After this old monk’s pilgrimage, some of you may have rich temples with large halls and volumes of sutras decorated with gold and silver, full of noisy enthusiasts; or may read sutras and recite dharanis, do zazen for long periods without lying down, eat only breakfast, and work day and night. Although you do these things, if you don’t set your mind on the marvelous untransmitted way of Buddha and the enlightened ones, you immediately deny cause and effect, and the true teaching falls to the ground. All these are a bunch of devils, and though this old monk may have left this world for a long time, you are not to be allowed to call yourselves my descendants.
But if there is one person who seriously studies the self’s affairs, even if living out in the fields in a straw hut and cooking meals of vegetable roots over a grass fire in a broken pot, here is the one who sees me daily and is grateful for what has been received, who would dare to be careless?
Work hard! Work hard!

The text goes back to Shuho Myocho 宗峰妙超 (1282-1337), usually known as Daito Kokushi 大燈國師, who according to the stories gave this admonition as the last address to his students. He was an interesting character, who according to legend after the death of his principle master (Dai-o Kokushi) spent twenty years living with homeless beggars under the Gojo Bridge in Kyoto. The Emperor Hanazono, who later sponsored Myoshin-ji 妙心寺, went to look for Shuho Myocho; not being able to distinguish him from the other beggars he resorted to a clever device. The Emperor knew that the Zen master loved melons; therefore he brought along a basket of melons and asked the beggars to take the melon without using their hands. By answering “Give me the melon without using your hands” Shuho revealed himself and the emperor was able to persuade him to become the abbot of Daitoku-ji 大徳寺, where Shuho then spent the rest of his life. Shuho Myocho died in the high seat, after forcing his crippled leg into full lotos posture (and thus breaking it); once he assumed the posture he composed his death poem, and then passed away.
