(Fair warning, it's very long) submitted by Dimetro_Sparks to Monsterverse [link] [comments] We start off as a flashback during early Ancient Egypt times, where Mothra was flying over the deserts, peacefully scattering her godly lights over man and animal alike, bowing down to her in reverence and becoming docile respectively, before she senses a disturbance somewhere. She rushes over to it, and sees Abaddon (using my idea for him, a huge-ass Dragonfly with a functional mouth, a stinger tail, and the forelimbs of a Praying Mantis) using his swarm to hunt for food. Mothra dispels the swarm and attacks Abaddon with her God Rays, with Abaddon territorially attacking the Queen, and Mothra, in a show of stubbornness, engaging his challenge, and both insectoid Titans engaged in a brutal aerial battle as the Ancient Egyptians watched. It looked as it was going well for the more nimble Mothra, until Abaddon trapped Mothra in his raptorial forelimbs, brutally slamming and dragging her across the sands, before he lifted her and raised his stinger. It cuts to the Ancient Egyptians, who gasp and look on in horror as the sound of a sharp object and crunching sounds fill the air. Abaddon drops Mothra's lifeless corpse as he flies away, having satiated his hunger, while the screen zooms in on Mothra's eye. Whatever epic opening your mind makes happens, before the title lights up. We follow Ilene Andrews (Rebecca Hall) and her surrogate daughter Jia (Kaylee Hottle) again, this time joined with the Chen Twins, Dr. Ilene and Dr. Ling (both played by Zhang Ziyi) as Jia dreams about MothraâŠ's hatching, that is. That's right, sometime after the battle in Rio de Janeiro, Mothra has flown to the Borneo Jungle and laid an egg there, and the main cast arrive to witness it in person, and naturally, when the larva hatches, it was a magnificent sight for all involved. When the night falls and Jia goes to sleep in the Borneo Outpost, she once again shares a dream with Mothra, joined by the Chen Twins, due to their history with the Queen⊠until the dream started going out of control, wildly flashing and prophesying, among other things, a high-pitched whining sound, unblinking red eyes, the earth collapsing, and darkness enveloping the skies. Everyone in the dream, from where they are, wake up in a cold sweat, until they get an urgent call that the Mothra Larva was displaying an unnatural and out of character level of agitation, proven correct when they see the slightly nervous Mothra pulsating yellow and orange, before breaking free of her containment and vanishing into the forest. It was pretty easily seen that something big was about to go down if Mothra of all Titans was getting upset. And soon enough, it looked like it came true when a devastating earthquake shook a large part of Asia, splitting the ground asunder and causing ruin, all while energy signatures shows Mothra venturing into Hollow Earth. At this point, the humans knew something was up. So it was decided, one team, with Dr. Ilene Chen, would stay up on the Surface World and monitor any more earthquakes or disturbances, and another, with Dr. Ling, and newcomers to the series Lance Gibson (Donny Lucas) and Scarlet Wilde (Emilia Clarke) would venture into Hollow Earth to keep track of Mothra. As Team Hollow Earth follows Mothra, understanding that she is sensing something they don't, they keep a close eye on her. Mothra continues making a beeline, hauling ass towards wherever, until she enters a foggy quarry and sees a flashing light that comes closer to her, causing Mothra to tense up, until the fog dispels and she sees⊠Battra. The flashing light was his horn, and Mothra, seeing this larva that shares the same similarities to her, softens up. Team Hollow Earth were stunned at seeing another Moth Titan, especially with scans showing they share the same genetic material. Mothra appears to be slightly taller than Battra, with Lance suggesting the possibility of them being siblings, and Mothra having hatched first, something that everybody agrees on. Battra has sensed Mothra's presence and vice-versa, with the Queen of the Monsters being visibly overjoyed to be an older sister. Until Battra's horn glows red, and he glows in agitation, before beckoning Mothra to follow him, and the humans trail after them. Mothra and Battra's venture in the rest of Hollow Earth lead to the Moth Siblings getting ambushed by a large and aggressive Praying Mantis Sub-Titan called a Scymantis. Battra, who has never been in a serious battle before, was scared and hid behind Mothra, who fortunately, did know how to fight. Mothra does battle with the Scymantis, and Mothra, filled with a huge protective big sister instinct, had actually led to her killing the Scymantis, a move that stuns everyone watching, even Mothra herself, though she quickly collects herself and continues on to follow Battra's signal. Both Moth Siblings take a breather in a large beautiful grassy plain, where they see large glowing aphid-like creatures called Flight Lights, one of whom Mothra grabs and directs it's abdomen to her mouth, before eating in a delicious (to her) substance like an ant eating honeydew from an aphid. Battra tries to do the same as his sister, but he doesn't know how to, which visibly saddens him. Mothra, seeing the trouble her younger brother is facing, teaches him how to properly eat from a Flight Light, and does so properly, causing him to light up in happiness. Meanwhile, with Team Surface World, Monarch is helping the areas of Asia that has been led to ruin by the earthquake, when they see the skies slightly darkening, something they identify to be a sign that Abaddon is arriving. Sure enough, he does indeed show up, his swarm following him. Abaddon was highly aggressive, something that confuses the Monarch team up above, until Abaddon reaches in and pulls out a huge insectoid Titan. The humans back away as Abaddon engages in a battle with the creature, before killing it, and feasting on it. Abaddon leaves, but the humans are left to ponder at what came out. Back in Hollow Earth, the Moth Siblings a large chasm in the ground, going several kilometers down, called the Gaping Maw. The Moth Siblings leap down the chasm, falling underneath and dispelling a veil of natural steam, with the humans following them, until they reach the bottom. Mothra bravely treads ahead, while Battra cautiously trails behind her, his horn staying red. Until the humans manage to direct the two of them to a veil of what looked like webbing, with Scarlet confirming it not belonging to the Moth Titans. Both Moths rip it open, and see a huge hive, all filled to the brim with Meganulons, almost all of whom stop and stare at them. Battra was nervous, but Mothra crawled forward. Up until she sees a Meganulon about to fall to its death, at which point she rushes forward with no hesitation and saves it. As the Meganulon stared at her in what looked like awe and wonder, a loud screeching is heard, and all the Meganulons back away as both Moth Siblings. Battra looked terrified, while Mothra was defiant, as the Queen of the Meganulons, Megaguirus, emerged and hovered down to greet the newcomers. Megaguirus sniffed Mothra out with her antennae, and understood that she came from the Surface World, which is good news for her, seeing as she wants to expand her hive. Until she sensed something else on the Surface. One of her own was dead, murdered. The same one that Abaddon killed. Furious at one of her brood's death, Megaguirus engaged the Moth Siblings in battle (yes, she treats her subjects with remarkably more respect and kindness that Skar King). Mothra valiantly fought her, even as a larva, while protecting the terrified Battra. While it looked like Mothra was doing well, Megaguirus, due to being mature, being incredibly speedy, having razor-sharp wings, and able to fly, managed to overpower her, grappling her in a deadly lock with her pincers and stinger tail, and even absorbing Mothra's energy with her stinger. Battra was scared, but upon seeing Mothra struggling, he decided to charge in and his horn lights up with yellow electrical (what looks like it, anyway) energy, and using it to force Megaguirus off of Mothra, who tag teams the Meganulon Queen and slams her to the ground. They would have continued, if not for Megaguirus' wings glowing and letting out a roar. Suddenly, the ground erupted, and out came Megalon, whom Megaguirus treated almost like a brother, with Megalon in turn, being unfailingly loyal to her. And so, used his abilities over the earth to severely injure Mothra and Battra, forcing them to retreat. As the humans escape the Gaping Maw and bring the two Moth Titans to a secluded but humongous cavern to rest, the humans found ancient tunnels with writings of an ancient tribe, explaining that their God, Megalon, created the Vile Vortexes to Hollow Earth, but after getting touched by a "Golden Ray of Light", he had become destructive after meeting Megaguirus, a "kindred spirit", and have a solution should they ever attack the world. Unbeknownst to them, the Moth Siblings found that solution: a huge influx of Hollow Earth radiation, not only healing their wounds, but supercharging them, and accelerating their growth. When the humans finally notice the blinding lights behind them, they saw the double cocoons, and the literal blinding beauty of both Moth Siblings gracefully emerge in their Imago Forms. Battra was amazed at his new form, while Mothra makes a dash and flies out, zooming out. Meanwhile, Battra flies back into the Gaping Maw to keep an eye on the Meganulons, he sees that Megaguirus is on the move, with Megalon and a crap-ton of Meganulon Warrior drones to assist her in her invasion of the Surface World. Battra flies back to the humans and warns this to Jia, who relays it to the humans, until Lance asks where the hell Mothra went to, with Scarlet bringing up scans revealing she went to the Surface. Back up in the Surface World, the team there reads Mothra's signatures erupting as she flies out, but she is making a straight beeline for a specific Titan. To Abaddon. Mothra is directly provoking him to get him to follow her to combat this threat, which worries Dr. Ling, seeing as she was aware of what Abaddon was capable of. Sure enough, the two Insect Titans collide in Bangladesh, where a furious Abaddon engages the challenging Mothra in combat once again. It seems as if history is going to repeat, until Battra steps in between the downed Mothra and Abaddon, and explains the situation. Abaddon was motionless for a few moments, before he backs off and follows Mothra and Battra to Hollow Earth. With Team Hollow Earth, they were now tasked with holding the line between Megaguirus' forces, and the Vile Vortexes to the Surface World until Mothra comes back, knowing that they're in big trouble if they manage to get there. While this happens, Battra and Abaddon get into some skirmishes about one-upping the other due to Battra's newfound confidence with his powers and Abaddon's dislike of anything moth, but manage to hold it in enough to get to their destination. Soon enough, the three insectoid Titans arrive at the battlefield, where they charge in as Megaguirus and her forces do to. Mothra engages in a dogfight with Megaguirus, Battra attacks Megalon on the ground, and Abaddon makes some snacks out of the Meganulons, as the humans attempt to both escape and join in on the fight. During the brawl, Megalon manages to make the ground unstable enough for him to fall into a Vile Vortex, causing the other Titans (and humans) to follow suit. In the Surface World, all the combatants find themselves in Barcelona, Spain. Megaguirus commands her hive with a high-pitched whining to arrive, with Megaguirus' absorption of Mothra's ability darkening the sky in a huge electrical superstorm, one Meganulon almost grabbing the humans, until Abaddon swoops in to save them, and the Moth Siblings follow suit. Their battles takes them to the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone. During the clash of insects, Battra realized brute force wasn't going to work on Megalon, so he continued beating down the huge beetle, until he grabbed the fatigued Megalon, and aerial suplexed him, making the ground give way and having him plummet to the depths of the earth. Now without her biggest ally, Megaguirus attacks more furiously, but fails when both Moth Siblings tag-team her with slashes and stabs, as Battra amplifies Mothra's own abilities, when Mothra grabs her and stares her down. Megaguirus roars defiantly, which is when Mothra flies up to the superstorm and throws Megaguirus in there, electrocuting her, before Mothra slams Megaguirus down on one of the volcanoes, immolating her to death. Both Moth Siblings and Abaddon roar triumphantly as Mothra uses her God Rays to dispel the superstorm. Mothra looks at Abaddon, who seems to give her and Battra a look of respect, before he flies off. Mothra is seen patrolling over the skies of the Amazon Rainforest, until she is greeted by Battra, as both the Moth Siblings exchange a cute little bioluminescent show of affection towards each other. Both teams of humans watch as Mothra and Battra fly off, casting a bigger light than the sun, and fade to white as the ending scene before credits roll. |

The scene : a pro bono immigration clinic The cast : (names have been changed to protect the innocent-Margaret, in charge of filling out immigration application, Lisa, the interpreter, Mary, the immigrant applying for asylum and Me, the note taker and resident ADHD idiot.
Important note- this clinic is run by elderly nuns.
Lisa runs through a series of questions to Mary and interprets her answers for Margaret. We know from the meeting prior without Mary that she has fled her country due to an abusive partner. It's our job as a team to not only fill out her application but also literally write her life story as an affidavit. Her details of the reasons she fled are sparse but unfortunately they need to be fleshed out . We get through the application, no problem. It's getting late and we agree to ask her to write out her life details and email them to the interpreter to translate and then next week I will work on her affadavit. Mary agrees . Before we end the session, I ask her if she needs food, clothing or healthcare. Lisa interprets the question and Mary just starts crying. We have no idea why this question triggered this. Turns out she's pregnant.
Now all the elderly sisters come over to see what's happening. Mary calms down after a bit , after we reassure her she's in a safe space and we get her information for a trauma counselor.
She leaves. The Sisters are still standing at our table and one of them says her being pregnant will help her case.
So what do I say? I say to all within earshot : " Maybe we should knock them all up."

I have felt defeated and been dealing with suicidal thoughts since I was 13. I just got a memory of when I was playing soccer and the coach lined us all up by what he expected to be fair races... I was the last pair and the slowest pair at that to race. It was still unfair. No matter how hard I tried to run I was many parsecs behind my partner who was the second slowest on the team. This always made me want to give up. I could kill myself so that guy can be the slowest now and at least the whole team will be a bit faster in the process and I don't have to feel like shit.
Im tired of this feeling.
Now I'm at a point where my problems feel so great that I can't overcome them without losing many things I've worked hard for like my partner whom I love.. where I live, home rentals are hard to come by and my current landlords promised us a long-term rental which 4 months into the lease they have gone back on and now have our home placed on the market for sale. I am on disability for my mental health mainly and don't have a way to make more money to move somewhere else. I don't want to be homeless.. I don't want to have to rehome my pets... And I don't want to lose my fiance..
Idk it's hard for me to even want to write out my problems.. I just want to go find another subreddit that might have an answer for a painless way to suicide so I can just stop this train of endless suffering. Yes I know if I kill myself I will lose everything but what's the point of watching it slide from my hands like that fucker who was the second slowest... I am on disability for my mental health mainly and don't have a way to make more money to move somewhere else. I don't want to be homeless.. I don't want to have to rehome my pets... There has been a wealth of posts about building the highest AC characters, but I always stick up for the common DnD player that never ventures into the double digit levels or is able to fork out hoards of gold on armor. My goal was to build an all-round effective spellcaster with insane AC before a long beginner's campaign is over. I present you with three race options that cater to everyone's differing wishes. All with CON save proficiency (though not very high) for those concentration spells.
Within 6 levels awesome AC/spellcasting + an ASI, I think that's pretty amazing.
EDIT: I've been made aware that the Thri-Kreen's Chameleon Carapace is not considered armor and therefore not applicable for Forge Cleric. Since it would reduce the AC by 1 and not compete anymore with the other options I will use crossthrough.

I am a year 7 student. There is this kid who we will call Kin who is also year 7 and everyone hates him but he somehow made this gay friend group with some girls and 2 more Boys like him. Anyways we had PE at the end of the day and I and others were leaning on a metal fence with lots of jackets on them. Then Kin says to me " your on my jacket" I tell him oh my bad then he says wow it stinks now. I retaliate and say Shut up you stink. Then we get in an argument over this thing. His gay friends group back him up and that. My friends come and they still want to argue. he make fun of me being fat even through he is a moritbly obese and I am in good shape since I do martial arts. Then I was going to just leave but he keeps rambling on and on trying to body shame me on things io don't even have. Then he says are you a lady and a man me confused tell him are you. He keeps talking and yapping but then we have to get back in the match. The coach then makes us do this game where there are 4 teams named 1 2 3 and 4. I get pissed at him and so do my friends. They tell me are you really gonna take that from him. So I wait till they call both our groups out but here's the thing. The coach says 1 person or 2 people or the whole teams goes on to do a one goal winner game. Every single time his and my groups gets called he doesn't bother to get on. but ones the Coach said both our teams had to get on with all the players he had to get on. I scout the pics looking for him to slide tackle and injure him. But he doesn't try to get the ball. After a few more round of other teams and me and my friends playing. The coach calls out 2 people from my team and 2 people from kins team. Kin gets on the pitch with one of his friends and then I hear for kin"break his shins girl" He said to his friend. But then pushes that person to get infant and blows a raspberry at me I tell him to shut up, he's only confident since teachers are watching. Ones we get off the bus we get dismissed to go home. 2024.05.16 11:06 Desire-17 Some tips and advice for Pantheon based on what Iâve seen from helping others complete it over the last few weeks
- If youâre doing gaze on Golgoroth and are struggling, use a glaive. People are always surprised when they see I have a glaive but gazing is where a glaive is a top tier option. You just sit there and tank everything with the shield. When you donât have gaze, shoot the adds in mid or the minotaurs to recharge it. You just need a glaive that has adequate shield duration.
- I also like to use Sleeper Simulant as Gazer because Sleeper nearly one shots the orb off the roof. Grab gaze and then I shoot the orb, it really helps with the damage team not taking too long to shoot the orb off the roof. You can also use Tractor instead and provide a 30% debuff. Up to you.
- Please use damage resistance mods on your chest piece and ideally have maxed out resilience. The amount of times Iâve seen people die on Explicator continously then I check and see they have no solar resist mods at all. Donât forget them!
- Same thing with weapon surges. You should always be running weapon surges for damage for your heavy. I should not be seeing people going into damage with no weapon surges
- Do not forget to activate class warfare (or shot caller on that week)
- If you are struggling with killing your Collosus on Explicator, I recommend Chill Clip Riptide. Its stasis surge + the slow from chill clip really pacifies the lieutenant. He wonât fire his missiles and gets staggered by the slow. If youâre a sunbracer Warlock, you can use the Psions that spawn on your triangle for snap, then just spam the lieutenant spawn with nades too.
- If youâre add clear on Explicator, that doesnât necessarily mean you have to sit in the middle. If I am add clear, I sit on the top left or top right triangle. Itâs way safer and gives you a good vantage point for adds. Just watch for any potential tornados or the collosus spawn.
- The above point also relates to the point that now at -15 power, where adds are starting to hurt, you need to be smarter about your positioning. Especially on something like Atraks, where dying means you lose all of your Parasite stacks. Think about your positioning, how exposed you are making yourself, and if you keep dying then you need to reevaluate how you are positioning yourself.
- If you are doing explicator mechanics and die, please communicate if your collosus is still alive. I have seen multiple deaths occur because the person failed to state their collosus was still alive.
- Forerunner is very effective against tormentors. People are still surprised I use forerunner on them, donât sleep on this weapon
- Again, a Riptide chill clip is actually really useful for tormentors. The slow will pacify the tormentor, he wonât run at you or slam. I found this really useful for the tormentors on Rhulk. Just keep him slowed with chill clip and he wonât do anything aggressive, easy to melt.
- Blinding nades also work. Useful for the tormentor on Explicator if you donât want to kill him and just let him despawn etc
- I feel people need to utilise the power of loadouts more, especially for next week at -20 power. You can have a loadout for mechanics and one for damage. For example, I may run a mechanic loadouts with scavs, special finisher, or something to store armour charges for damage. Then my damage loadout is triple surges, loaders etc, may also run powerful friends so the wellock gets armour charge. The point is, we now have loadouts in game where you can change all your mods with a single click in the menu. You can run one loadout for add cleamechanics, then switch to another loadout that is fully specialised into damage output. Just make sure your subclass fragments etc all match so you donât lose super energy.
- Have courtesy during damage. With people using rockets or heavy GLs, there should not be strafing or significant movement during damage for the plate-based bosses! Additionally, if you want to cast a super, try not to do it infront of the team because the animation may block them. For example, when I cast gathering storm on Explicator, I do it behind the team so I donât block anyone. Also, on caretaker, please crouch if you are standing at the front of the damage plate.
- Please stop trying to revive someone with the boss near their ghost or ontop of them. The amount of times I have seen people try to revive with Rhulk or Explicator ontop of their ghost is too much lol.

1) When a new episode comes out each week. Have a different actor on and do some highlights of the show and maybe some bits as them each in character. You know Adam "wrote" on JKL. Late night shows have been following this format for decades. It is why the star goes on. You know it is part of their contract to do the press tour and late nights. Yes, I know he kind of has people from the show on, but he could do so much more with it. This isn't a new idea. It is literally why the late night shows exist. Adam worked on JKL and talked about how he was a goto guest because JKL was too small potatoes for stars to come on and pimp their movies / shows. Adam knows how this works.
2) Have Lynch ::shudder:: write some Mr. B bits every show (he already does the opening). Adam does 5 min as Mr. B each show.
3) Once a month or so, have the entire cast on (even if some need to be remote) and do a 10-minute improv with everybody in character.
4) Have everybody do ads for the show. "Hi this is Rosenne. I play whatever the fuck she plays, Watch Mr. B on DW+ each sunday" then do a bit of freestyle comedy as the character.

I hate that I spend more time thinking about this than the ACS idiots collectively did.
Ok, Adam has a huge podcart (maybe?). Easily reaches enough people that he can sell out 4 shows a weekend in nowhere, IN.
'toon takes a long time to make. In other words, Adam had a bunch of warning to pimp the ever-loving fuck out of this disaster.
Adam can reach a bunch of ears, so how about this for a marketing campaign that cost him nothing...? (why am I better at their jobs than they are?):
1) When a new episode comes out each week. Have a different actor on and do some highlights of the show and maybe some bits as them each in character. You know Adam "wrote" on JKL. Late night shows have been following this format for decades. It is why the star goes on. You know it is part of their contract to do the press tour and late nights. Yes, I know he kind of has people from the show on, but he could do so much more with it. This isn't a new idea. It is literally why the late night shows exist. Adam worked on JKL and talked about how he was a goto guest because JKL was too small potatoes for stars to come on and pimp their movies / shows. Adam knows how this works.
2) Have Lynch ::shudder:: write some Mr. B bits every show (he already does the opening). Adam does 5 min as Mr. B each show.
3) Once a month or so, have the entire cast on (even if some need to be remote) and do a 10-minute improv with everybody in character.
4) Have everybody do ads for the show. "Hi this is Rosenne. I play whatever the fuck she plays, Watch Mr. B on DW+ each sunday" then do a bit of freestyle comedy as the character.
5) Adam is on morning radio and "good morning
Adam has a platform and an audience. He should be pimping the FUCK out of this show. Why isn't he. No chance he thinks it sucks (it does). He really must be this stupid and lazy.

âRaven!â
Sladeâs gruff voice pierced through the deafening, wave-like roars in Ravenâs head, but the rage was too much to bear. Her hands sizzled as hellfire danced in her palms, her body readying for another attack. She locked eyes with a reptilian soldier, dismounting his simian steed and charging on foot, but as she lunged forwards to strike him, she watched a man fly into her path. Slade Wilson caught the young Titanâs hand and pushed, throwing Raven backwards.
âCome on, kid, snap out of it!â But as Sladeâs words fell on deaf ears, he felt the familiar sting of a fist to his jaw, a crack echoing in his ears. He recoiled from the attack but powered through his injury and stood his ground. Sinking his heels into the ground, he locked eyes with the girl before him. Her face seemed contorted and uncanny, as if all of the rage she was feeling was pouring out of her. She groaned angrily as she thrusted her head downwards, her forehead making contact with Sladeâs teeth, before pulling her head back up again in preparation for another attack.
Before she could make one, however, one of the lizardmen had almost reached the warring duoâs sides, and as he lunged forward with his long spear, he made contact with Ravenâs side. A small rip formed in the side of Ravenâs outfit, which seemed to only anger her further. However, it did seem to distract her enough; Marâi fired off a single Starbolt which struck only the ground - a warning shot.
âRaven! Please!â the half-Tamaranean cried out. But the Raven she knew was buried under unfathomable amounts of fury; she ignored her teammateâs call and instead flew forwards and swung out at the reptiloid. The strike glowed with red flame, sending the creature skidding across the floor, barely conscious. Slade spotted a flash of something else on her face, as if she was finally able to fight back against the endless rage - pain, perhaps, or anguish. But in an instant, it was gone.
That flicker of something other than white-hot anger was enough for Slade.
He clutched his side as his still open wound began to ache, the bandages feeling wet with fresh blood. His jaw felt crooked, and as he gritted his teeth, it felt as though they sat differently atop each other. And yet, he clutched his staff tightly in one hand, and with the other he beckoned to Raven.
âKid, youâre fighting it, I know you are!â Slade felt his mouth filling with blood rather than saliva.
Within a moment, Ravenâs attention was locked on the white-haired man once again. She fired bolt after bolt of black and red flame, but Slade was still dextrous despite his pain. He dodged and dived, weaving through the fire, until he finally managed to make contact with his opponent. He drove his staff into her chest and pushed his weight against the weapon, forcing her backwards. She rose into the air, a black mist pouring from her arms and over her face, a large ghostly corvid taking her place. He felt the deathly cold shadow of the birdâs wing fall over him, his feet leaving the ground as she scooped him into the air.
He looked down at the ground far beneath him. A fall from this height would kill anyone, he thought, let alone someone beaten half to death.
Then, as a verdant bolt of energy struck it in the side, Ravenâs Soul Self shrieked and the shadows retreated inwards. Slade felt himself falling through the air for a second, then two, before he felt his back collide with something soft and cushioned. As he looked up, he met the gaze of Conner, who soared to the ground in an instant, placing the snow-haired man on the ground and giving a swift nod.
Raven let out a pained, frustrated yell as she returned to the ground, aided by a grappling line expertly positioned by Tim, and in response, Conner jetted off towards the sound of her cries. Sladeâs feet faltered beneath him, and he stumbled to keep his balance. His breathing was laboured and his vision was becoming fuzzy. It felt as though, he realised, all the blood loss and violence he had suffered over the past few hours were finally catching up to him. Was this what dying felt like?
âSlade!â shouted a voice, followed by the dulled drumming of hurried footsteps. Slade pulled his hand across his face to wipe away the mental haze and drops of blood. It was Don, sprinting towards him. When Slade felt Don clasp him by shoulders, he realized just how slowed he was by his injuries. âPlan?â Slade coughed out.
âYouâve seen what she can do. I only see one way out of these without one of the kids getting hurt. Iâd do it myself, but Iâm out of practice and this is too important to leave to chance.â Don looked around anxiously, his face betraying that he had a lot on his mind. âIâm giving you the powers of a god.â Slade opened his mouth to ask a question, a million came to mind. He glanced across the battlefield. Through a blurry film, he saw Ravenâs Soul Self bat Conner away with its wing. He careened into the trunk of a thick tree, uprooting it with a deep crunch. âAre you sure?,â Slade asked, breathless.
âIâm not losing another Titan.â Don squeezed his eyes shut. His grip on Slade tightened as pale, almost blinding light enveloped them. It felt warm. No, better than that: it felt peaceful. With his enhanced senses, Slade could hear his erratic heartbeat slow. Fleeting visions bubbled up in his mind, opening up his awareness beyond the wildest dreams of Project Veritas. He felt rivers of magical energy flowing through the air and earth. Each of them spiralled towards a depression. Towards Raven, he knew instinctively. Iridescent blue light spread outward from his shoulders. It washed over his body armor, bleaching the jet black panels until his entire body shone with radiance. The pain from wounds old and new faded, replaced by serenity - and power. Don opened his eyes again and sighed gently; a concoction and joy, relief, and quiet mourning.
âThere,â Don remarked. Slade felt lighter, less angry, less burdened. He looked down at the iridescent light enveloping his body. Magical energy buzzed against the surface of his skin. âThe powers of the Dove - officially yours.â
Slade sucked in a nervous breath. âDonâŠâ Even rejuvenated, he was still lost for words.
âTheyâre yours now,â Don smiled weakly. âNow go earn them. Thereâs a Titan in dire need of our help.â
Conner floated out of the dense jungle, rubbing his forehead. âIs Slade glowing or do I have a concussion?â
Slade looked over at Raven. She seemed less erratic, her movements driven by her brain rather than her gut. Timâs staff batted fiercely against her, each strike buffeting her back more and more, but it was clear to Slade that Raven was not any weaker physically - her mind, however, was another story.
Slade began marching towards her, the ache in his side dulled. âRaven. Youâre strong. Fight this rage inside of you.â Raven glared at him, a spark of something in her eyes, as she swooped in towards him at top speed. As she neared him, however, Slade readied his staff, stretching it out in front of him. As the tip of the weapon struck Raven, a beam of white energy coursed through her, as if she had been struck by lightning, and her body was flung backwards across the dirt.
Slade danced a hand over his rifle, but something felt different. He pulled it into his hands and inspected it swiftly; nothing seemed out of order. Raven rose slowly from her supine position, snarling softly to herself. Her movements had slowed, the expression on her face becoming closer to horror than rage. She was doing it.
âYouâre nearly there, kid,â Slade soothed, his words suddenly like butter. He watched Ravenâs shoulders start to relax. âThatâs it. Just fight this, Raven. Youâre almost there.â
Despite her tremendous progress, Ravenâs blistering fury won out once more, and she charged a large bolt of hellfire in her hands. Slade fiddled with his rifle and crossed his fingers. There was a standstill between the two. Slade analysed his rifle again; there was something different about the barrel, as if it had been swapped out for another similar model. The stock felt lighter, too, as if the weight had beenâ
Raven roared at him, swiping wildly with glowing fists, and in an instant Slade instinctively pulled the trigger.
What fired from the gun was not a silvery bullet, but a familiar glowing bolt of white light, cloud-like in appearance. As it struck Raven, she sucked in a deep breath, the energy engulfing her. Her face softened and her posture relaxed. Then she swung out for the manâs weakened side, his bandages poking through the aura of light. And yet, as he stayed steadfast, not even attempting to dodge the attack. Sparks flew from the point of contact. Slade just readied another shot and fired.
Her body swayed with the blow. Slade closed the gap between them and focused on the new warmth he felt, concentrating it into his staff as best he could. Then, as he held it out in front of him at armâs length, he swiped at Raven and struck her in the side of the shoulder. Each blow seemed to be more effective than the last, but as Ravenâs movements continued to slow, Slade held fire.
âYouâre doing it, Raven,â Slade encouraged. He watched as the other Titans surrounded Raven, each of them ready for any further attacks. Everyone watched with bated breath as their teammate and friend thrashed and recoiled from the hit. Her breathing was rapid, although it felt closer to panic than unabashed fury. She clasped her hands over her head, groaning. Then, suddenly, she stopped.
Her face had softened completely, her jaw slack, and tears filled her vision. She looked up at Slade with a comfort in her eyes. The aura emanating from him was pervasive and contagious, and although she had felt lost in a sea of impossibly vast emotions, its warmth and comfort cut through. The anger was still there somewhat, the last remaining dregs still working its way out of her system, but the comfort, the peace that Slade was providing was the anchor for her to stabilise herself. She had only ever seen this kind of power when DonâŠ
Ravenâs eyes widened as she realised what that meant. She collapsed to her knees, suddenly feeling the bone-deep fatigue her rage had suppressed. Her teammates rushed in around her. Marâi dropped to a knee by her side and put a hand on her shoulder. âItâs OK. Youâre safe. Everyoneâs OK.â
âDon Iâmââ She wiped away a stream of tears, stumbling her way out of the emotional vortex sheâd been sucked into. âIâm so sorry. I donât know what happened. Iâve lost control before, but never like this.â
Don looked older. Creases ran across his forehead and around his eyes. His smile hadnât changed. âRaven, my brother and I got those powers when I was a kid. We didnât ask for them. We werenât ready for them. We didnât know how to use them, let alone control them.â He laughed dryly, recalling Hank. âI donât regret anything. Giving my powers to Slade is the best thing Iâve done with them in years. I know Hank would feel the same way.â
In the moment of silence that followed, Raven rose to her feet and pulled her cloak tightly around herself. She was still shaking. Timâs eyes drifted from her to Slade. âSomethingâs gnawing at me. Kestrelâs powers are weakened in Skartaris. DonâsâŠâ He coughed, âSladeâs powers are amplified. If this place is what affected youââ
Marâiâs face flashed with recognition, ââyour powers must be tied to the Lords of Order and Chaos!â
Tim furrowed his brow. âMaybe.â He hardly had time to consider further when a thundering crack tore open the sky. Two bolts of swirling energy - one red and one blue - met above them, forming a swirling portal at their vertex. The Titans readied their weapons, expecting the worst.
âItâs them.â Slade murmured, still put off by his uncanny awareness. Terataya and TâCharr descended from the sky, one wreathed in mist, the other, magma. The two elementals stopped a few feet above the ground, hovering.
Terataya was the first to speak. Even at a whisper, her voice reverberated through the air. âI donât usually care for surprises, Don, but this was a pleasant one.â A thin smile appeared on her face.
âSlade Wilson.â Teratayaâs neck turned at an unnatural angle to face him. âYou wield the powers of Order with great skill. Who understands the dangers of unchecked War better than a soldier. Become my champion. Protect the balance.â
Slade took a step back, then glanced at Don.
âSheâs right.â Don said, with only a hint of hesitation. âIt took me years to use the powers like you used them today. Youâre a natural.â
Slade looked at his hands, still gently pulsing with pale blue light. âThanks.â He allowed himself a weak smile. âBut no thanks.â
âWhat.â TâCharrâs voice boomed.
âIt doesnât take Zatanna to realize an old soldier like me makes a piss-poor Avatar of Peace. I fight for a living, and Iâm not deluded enough to think that makes me good at anything but fighting. If you want someone who understands the need for balance, Don just sacrificed everything special about him for it.â
Don raised an eyebrow. âNone taken.â
âHis actions today were noble, but they do not make up for years spent squandering the gift.â
âSquandering? The Titans wouldnât exist today if he hadnât pulled them together. Everything theyâve done. Everything theyâve achieved for your balance wouldnât have happened without him, including stopping that monster you made.â
âWatch your tone, mortal.â TâCharr threatened.
âThere may be a vein of truth to his words, lover.â Terataya said. âBut *if we were to restore Don Hallâs power, we would need assurances. His indecision led down this path.â*
Rocks ground against each other as TâCharr landed beside Don. âYou would have weeks, not years, to select a counterpart and return to your duties.â
Donâs response was instantaneous. âIâve made a decision.â
âYouâve decided if youâll take up the mantle of Dove again?â
Don nodded. âAnd who should be the new Hawk.â
Terataya giggled. âFull of surprises today. TâCharr?â
âWe should discuss this.â He said. âIn private.â
The three of them vanished, leaving the Titans and Slade alone on a battlefield riddled with bits of dino meat and ape fur.

âYou donât think theyâre gonna come back in like, 200 years, right?â Conner asked. He sat beside the depowered Slade Wilson, who was downing aspirin to make up for the sudden deficit in peace energy.
âI donât know.â Tim said. âBut we should give them more than fifteen minutes.â
As if on cue, the skies opened again. Again, the chromatic energy lit the sky and again a portal opened its swirling maw. This time, however, it wasnât two elemental Lords to descend. Raven squinted to make the figures out.
âOh my god.â Conner said, having a far easier time with his super-vision.
âWhat? Who is it?â Tim asked.
âDonna!â Marâi shouted. She shot off the ground towards her. Her black combat armor was replaced with a crimson and white bodysuit studded with stars that seemed to twinkle as the light shifted around her. The sword at her side was gone too, replaced with a coiled loop of rope suffused with the same brilliant energy. The two collided into an embrace, spinning through the air as they held each other tightly.
Don was the first to land, restored with the powers of Dove. He looked stronger than ever, and maybe more importantly, happier. Even Timâs typical thoughtful brooding has been pierced by an unimpeachable joy.
âI donât understand,.â Raven said. âS-Sheâs alive. How is this possible?â
âI knew there was only one person who could be trusted with the powers of War, with Hankâs abilities.â He scratched the back of his neck, a bit guilty. âAnd sheâd been staring me in the face for years. It took some doing, but eventually TâCharr and Terataya saw that too.â
Donna landed beside him, Marâi only a step behind. By now Conner had stepped forward. He tried not to choke over his words. âIâm sorry. If Iâdââ
Donna didnât let him get the words out before pulling him into a grapple-turned-hug that quickly grew as the rest of the team piled in. Slade flicked another aspirin into his mouth.
âDanyah!â A voice called out from over the ridge. It was Travis, mounted atop a fanged reptilian creature in the vague shape of a horse and flanked on either side by his gold-armored honor guard. He broke into a gallop, stopping just short of the Titans. âWhen I saw the skies, I feared the worst. Is it really you? Has sorcery brought you back to us?â
âItâs me, Travis. A Lord of Chaos brought me back.â
âNot to interrupt,.â Slade said, still nursing his wounds. âBut did either of you ask them to bring us back to Chicago?â
âIâŠâ Don grimaced. âDonna, how do we get home?â
âHow did you get here? Surely you could return the way you came.â Travis said.
âNo, we canât.â Tim said, pressing a few buttons on his wristâs holographic display. âWhatever magic pervades Skartaris is also causing some extreme time dilation. I canât guarantee weâd return to the 21st century, or even to Earth.â
âI spent a decade in Skartaris and returned to Earth nearly two centuries later. Itâs the influence of Chaos. Weâd need a Skartaran mage of overwhelming power to stabilize our return.â She spat the word mage with disgust. Travisâs expression seemed to confirm the reputation of Skartaran spellcasters.
Before their anxiety could spiral, the sky above began to churn. Moments later, the ground shook as a violent bolt of lightning cleaved the air, striking with such ferocity that all but Conner and Donna were flung backward. Mar'i skidded across the damp undergrowth, her senses overwhelmed by the acrid scent of ozone. Her mind was racing; their victory was hard fought, and she doubted they had much left in the tank for another confrontation. She dug her hands into the ground and pushed herself up as she choked from the smell. The Warlord Morgan and his military guards snapped to attention, forming a protective ring around the crater that now marred the earth.
From the smoking pit, a figure rose, unfolding from a crouch like something out of Terminator. Adorned in a red and white jumpsuit that accentuated his lithe build, the young man's appearance was marked by a red cowl and goggles, with sandy brown hair rebelliously spilling out.
Conner squinted through the dissipating smoke, murmuring under his breath, âA speedster?â The Flashes had had a variety of different sidekicks and other allies over the years, but none of them recognised this one
With a nonchalant flair that seemed at odds with the charged atmosphere, the newcomer greeted them. âHey, everyone chillax. I'm here to get you guys back home.â
Donna, ever the leader, stepped forward and spoke with a commanding curiosity, now emboldened with the war aura of Hawk. âAnd who are you exactly? Why should we trust you with such a claim?â
Flashing a cheeky grin, he tilted his head and responded, âWell, Iâm a speedster for one. Nameâs Impulse. If I run fast enough, then I can⊠well, I guess bend time.â
Behind Donna, the group exchanged sceptical glances. Raven's face remained shadowed by recovery, Mar'i and Conner braced for action, and Tim discretely checked his gadgets, no doubt for something that he could use on a speedster should the need arise.
âYeah, we figured that much,â Don cut through the tension, his voice calm yet insistent. âWho sent you?â
Impulse chuckled, his demeanour remaining unfazed by their scrutiny. âLook, the details aren't the fun part. Trust me, I can get us back.â
As a silence thick with doubt and scepticism settled over the group, Impulse seemed to realise his casual assurances weren't sufficient. With a theatrical sigh, he reached up and removed his mask, revealing a face familiar to both Mar'i and Raven.
âBrody!?â Mar'i exclaimed, her surprise echoing through the clearing as she stared at the boy who had once hobbled through their college classes with his leg in a cast.
The young manâs grin widened, his eyes sparkling with mischief and a hint of pride. âActually, itâs Bart.â

When Slade emerged from the shower, his skin was glistening with moisture, the water tracing the contours of his scars. He wrapped a stark white towel around his waist, and crossed the plush carpet to sit on the edge of the hotel room bed. He released a slow, deep breath; it was a good job the speedster kid arrived when he did. The notion of being stranded in an alien land or, worse, a different time had gnawed at him with a ferocity that was hard to admit. Without Bartâs intervention, every one of Sladeâs meticulously crafted plans would have been utterly dashed.
Facing him, a wall-mounted mirror caught his rugged reflection. Drawn to his own image, Slade studied the scars that mapped his trials, the slick white hair that crowned his head, and the deep lines etched into his face. A familiar discomfort nagged at him, focusing his attention on his right eye. Unable to alleviate the irritation through the skin, Slade exhaled heavily and carefully removed the eye altogether. The movement, fluid and practised, spoke of years of adaptation.
He placed the prosthetic gently on the bed beside him and as he massaged the socket, a decades-old habit, his mind wandered. He wasn't accustomed to keeping the prosthetic in for extended periods. Showering with it had been an uncomfortable experiment in necessity - he didn't like it, but understood the importance of maintaining the facade. The Slade he would have people believe he was would have never lost an eye, because that Slade had led a life far from by the darker paths Slade had truthfully trodden.
His thoughts wandered to his brief time wielding the potent powers of Dove, and Slade felt a twinge of regret at their loss. The clarity and strength those powers had provided were intoxicating, yet he recognised that he had a more important goal, one he couldnât compromise. His current role demanded not the accumulation of power but the perfection of his deceit, ensuring that all believed he was not the Slade Wilson they knew, but a Reawakened, more innocent doppelganger.
Now, with the glass eye resting beside him, Slade stared at his unmasked visage. Maintaining the myth of the noble Slade was critical. The ruthless mercenary, the Worldâs Deadliest Killer - those identities had to remain buried. The Titans had believed him enough to entrust him with divine powers, their faith a testament to his performance, but the game was far from over; in fact, it was entering its most critical phase.

Raven let out a pained, frustrated yell as she returned to the ground, aided by a grappling line expertly positioned by Tim, and in response, Conner jetted off towards the sound of her cries. Sladeâs feet faltered beneath him, and he stumbled to keep his balance. His breathing was laboured and his vision was becoming fuzzy. It felt as though, he realised, all the blood loss and violence he had suffered over the past few hours were finally catching up to him. Was this what dying felt like?
âSlade!â shouted a voice, followed by the dulled drumming of hurried footsteps. Slade pulled his hand across his face to wipe away the mental haze and drops of blood. It was Don, sprinting towards him. When Slade felt Don clasp him by shoulders, he realized just how slowed he was by his injuries. âPlan?â Slade coughed out.
âYouâve seen what she can do. I only see one way out of these without one of the kids getting hurt. Iâd do it myself, but Iâm out of practice and this is too important to leave to chance.â Don looked around anxiously, his face betraying that he had a lot on his mind. âIâm giving you the powers of a god.â Slade opened his mouth to ask a question, a million came to mind. He glanced across the battlefield. Through a blurry film, he saw Ravenâs Soul Self bat Conner away with its wing. He careened into the trunk of a thick tree, uprooting it with a deep crunch. âAre you sure?,â Slade asked, breathless.
âIâm not losing another Titan.â Don squeezed his eyes shut. His grip on Slade tightened as pale, almost blinding light enveloped them. It felt warm. No, better than that: it felt peaceful. With his enhanced senses, Slade could hear his erratic heartbeat slow. Fleeting visions bubbled up in his mind, opening up his awareness beyond the wildest dreams of Project Veritas. He felt rivers of magical energy flowing through the air and earth. Each of them spiralled towards a depression. Towards Raven, he knew instinctively. Iridescent blue light spread outward from his shoulders. It washed over his body armor, bleaching the jet black panels until his entire body shone with radiance. The pain from wounds old and new faded, replaced by serenity - and power. Don opened his eyes again and sighed gently; a concoction and joy, relief, and quiet mourning.
âThere,â Don remarked. Slade felt lighter, less angry, less burdened. He looked down at the iridescent light enveloping his body. Magical energy buzzed against the surface of his skin. âThe powers of the Dove - officially yours.â
Slade sucked in a nervous breath. âDonâŠâ Even rejuvenated, he was still lost for words.
âTheyâre yours now,â Don smiled weakly. âNow go earn them. Thereâs a Titan in dire need of our help.â
Conner floated out of the dense jungle, rubbing his forehead. âIs Slade glowing or do I have a concussion?â
Slade looked over at Raven. She seemed less erratic, her movements driven by her brain rather than her gut. Timâs staff batted fiercely against her, each strike buffeting her back more and more, but it was clear to Slade that Raven was not any weaker physically - her mind, however, was another story.
Slade began marching towards her, the ache in his side dulled. âRaven. Youâre strong. Fight this rage inside of you.â Raven glared at him, a spark of something in her eyes, as she swooped in towards him at top speed. As she neared him, however, Slade readied his staff, stretching it out in front of him. As the tip of the weapon struck Raven, a beam of white energy coursed through her, as if she had been struck by lightning, and her body was flung backwards across the dirt.
Slade danced a hand over his rifle, but something felt different. He pulled it into his hands and inspected it swiftly; nothing seemed out of order. Raven rose slowly from her supine position, snarling softly to herself. Her movements had slowed, the expression on her face becoming closer to horror than rage. She was doing it.
âYouâre nearly there, kid,â Slade soothed, his words suddenly like butter. He watched Ravenâs shoulders start to relax. âThatâs it. Just fight this, Raven. Youâre almost there.â
Despite her tremendous progress, Ravenâs blistering fury won out once more, and she charged a large bolt of hellfire in her hands. Slade fiddled with his rifle and crossed his fingers. There was a standstill between the two. Slade analysed his rifle again; there was something different about the barrel, as if it had been swapped out for another similar model. The stock felt lighter, too, as if the weight had beenâ
Raven roared at him, swiping wildly with glowing fists, and in an instant Slade instinctively pulled the trigger.
What fired from the gun was not a silvery bullet, but a familiar glowing bolt of white light, cloud-like in appearance. As it struck Raven, she sucked in a deep breath, the energy engulfing her. Her face softened and her posture relaxed. Then she swung out for the manâs weakened side, his bandages poking through the aura of light. And yet, as he stayed steadfast, not even attempting to dodge the attack. Sparks flew from the point of contact. Slade just readied another shot and fired.
Her body swayed with the blow. Slade closed the gap between them and focused on the new warmth he felt, concentrating it into his staff as best he could. Then, as he held it out in front of him at armâs length, he swiped at Raven and struck her in the side of the shoulder. Each blow seemed to be more effective than the last, but as Ravenâs movements continued to slow, Slade held fire.
âYouâre doing it, Raven,â Slade encouraged. He watched as the other Titans surrounded Raven, each of them ready for any further attacks. Everyone watched with bated breath as their teammate and friend thrashed and recoiled from the hit. Her breathing was rapid, although it felt closer to panic than unabashed fury. She clasped her hands over her head, groaning. Then, suddenly, she stopped.
Her face had softened completely, her jaw slack, and tears filled her vision. She looked up at Slade with a comfort in her eyes. The aura emanating from him was pervasive and contagious, and although she had felt lost in a sea of impossibly vast emotions, its warmth and comfort cut through. The anger was still there somewhat, the last remaining dregs still working its way out of her system, but the comfort, the peace that Slade was providing was the anchor for her to stabilise herself. She had only ever seen this kind of power when DonâŠ
Ravenâs eyes widened as she realised what that meant. She collapsed to her knees, suddenly feeling the bone-deep fatigue her rage had suppressed. Her teammates rushed in around her. Marâi dropped to a knee by her side and put a hand on her shoulder. âItâs OK. Youâre safe. Everyoneâs OK.â
âDon Iâmââ She wiped away a stream of tears, stumbling her way out of the emotional vortex sheâd been sucked into. âIâm so sorry. I donât know what happened. Iâve lost control before, but never like this.â
Don looked older. Creases ran across his forehead and around his eyes. His smile hadnât changed. âRaven, my brother and I got those powers when I was a kid. We didnât ask for them. We werenât ready for them. We didnât know how to use them, let alone control them.â He laughed dryly, recalling Hank. âI donât regret anything. Giving my powers to Slade is the best thing Iâve done with them in years. I know Hank would feel the same way.â
In the moment of silence that followed, Raven rose to her feet and pulled her cloak tightly around herself. She was still shaking. Timâs eyes drifted from her to Slade. âSomethingâs gnawing at me. Kestrelâs powers are weakened in Skartaris. DonâsâŠâ He coughed, âSladeâs powers are amplified. If this place is what affected youââ
Marâiâs face flashed with recognition, ââyour powers must be tied to the Lords of Order and Chaos!â
Tim furrowed his brow. âMaybe.â He hardly had time to consider further when a thundering crack tore open the sky. Two bolts of swirling energy - one red and one blue - met above them, forming a swirling portal at their vertex. The Titans readied their weapons, expecting the worst.
âItâs them.â Slade murmured, still put off by his uncanny awareness. Terataya and TâCharr descended from the sky, one wreathed in mist, the other, magma. The two elementals stopped a few feet above the ground, hovering.
Terataya was the first to speak. Even at a whisper, her voice reverberated through the air. âI donât usually care for surprises, Don, but this was a pleasant one.â A thin smile appeared on her face.
âSlade Wilson.â Teratayaâs neck turned at an unnatural angle to face him. âYou wield the powers of Order with great skill. Who understands the dangers of unchecked War better than a soldier. Become my champion. Protect the balance.â
Slade took a step back, then glanced at Don.
âSheâs right.â Don said, with only a hint of hesitation. âIt took me years to use the powers like you used them today. Youâre a natural.â
Slade looked at his hands, still gently pulsing with pale blue light. âThanks.â He allowed himself a weak smile. âBut no thanks.â
âWhat.â TâCharrâs voice boomed.
âIt doesnât take Zatanna to realize an old soldier like me makes a piss-poor Avatar of Peace. I fight for a living, and Iâm not deluded enough to think that makes me good at anything but fighting. If you want someone who understands the need for balance, Don just sacrificed everything special about him for it.â
Don raised an eyebrow. âNone taken.â
âHis actions today were noble, but they do not make up for years spent squandering the gift.â
âSquandering? The Titans wouldnât exist today if he hadnât pulled them together. Everything theyâve done. Everything theyâve achieved for your balance wouldnât have happened without him, including stopping that monster you made.â
âWatch your tone, mortal.â TâCharr threatened.
âThere may be a vein of truth to his words, lover.â Terataya said. âBut *if we were to restore Don Hallâs power, we would need assurances. His indecision led down this path.â*
Rocks ground against each other as TâCharr landed beside Don. âYou would have weeks, not years, to select a counterpart and return to your duties.â
Donâs response was instantaneous. âIâve made a decision.â
âYouâve decided if youâll take up the mantle of Dove again?â
Don nodded. âAnd who should be the new Hawk.â
Terataya giggled. âFull of surprises today. TâCharr?â
âWe should discuss this.â He said. âIn private.â
The three of them vanished, leaving the Titans and Slade alone on a battlefield riddled with bits of dino meat and ape fur.

âYou donât think theyâre gonna come back in like, 200 years, right?â Conner asked. He sat beside the depowered Slade Wilson, who was downing aspirin to make up for the sudden deficit in peace energy.
âI donât know.â Tim said. âBut we should give them more than fifteen minutes.â
As if on cue, the skies opened again. Again, the chromatic energy lit the sky and again a portal opened its swirling maw. This time, however, it wasnât two elemental Lords to descend. Raven squinted to make the figures out.
âOh my god.â Conner said, having a far easier time with his super-vision.
âWhat? Who is it?â Tim asked.
âDonna!â Marâi shouted. She shot off the ground towards her. Her black combat armor was replaced with a crimson and white bodysuit studded with stars that seemed to twinkle as the light shifted around her. The sword at her side was gone too, replaced with a coiled loop of rope suffused with the same brilliant energy. The two collided into an embrace, spinning through the air as they held each other tightly.
Don was the first to land, restored with the powers of Dove. He looked stronger than ever, and maybe more importantly, happier. Even Timâs typical thoughtful brooding has been pierced by an unimpeachable joy.
âI donât understand,.â Raven said. âS-Sheâs alive. How is this possible?â
âI knew there was only one person who could be trusted with the powers of War, with Hankâs abilities.â He scratched the back of his neck, a bit guilty. âAnd sheâd been staring me in the face for years. It took some doing, but eventually TâCharr and Terataya saw that too.â
Donna landed beside him, Marâi only a step behind. By now Conner had stepped forward. He tried not to choke over his words. âIâm sorry. If Iâdââ
Donna didnât let him get the words out before pulling him into a grapple-turned-hug that quickly grew as the rest of the team piled in. Slade flicked another aspirin into his mouth.
âDanyah!â A voice called out from over the ridge. It was Travis, mounted atop a fanged reptilian creature in the vague shape of a horse and flanked on either side by his gold-armored honor guard. He broke into a gallop, stopping just short of the Titans. âWhen I saw the skies, I feared the worst. Is it really you? Has sorcery brought you back to us?â
âItâs me, Travis. A Lord of Chaos brought me back.â
âNot to interrupt,.â Slade said, still nursing his wounds. âBut did either of you ask them to bring us back to Chicago?â
âIâŠâ Don grimaced. âDonna, how do we get home?â
âHow did you get here? Surely you could return the way you came.â Travis said.
âNo, we canât.â Tim said, pressing a few buttons on his wristâs holographic display. âWhatever magic pervades Skartaris is also causing some extreme time dilation. I canât guarantee weâd return to the 21st century, or even to Earth.â
âI spent a decade in Skartaris and returned to Earth nearly two centuries later. Itâs the influence of Chaos. Weâd need a Skartaran mage of overwhelming power to stabilize our return.â She spat the word mage with disgust. Travisâs expression seemed to confirm the reputation of Skartaran spellcasters.
Before their anxiety could spiral, the sky above began to churn. Moments later, the ground shook as a violent bolt of lightning cleaved the air, striking with such ferocity that all but Conner and Donna were flung backward. Mar'i skidded across the damp undergrowth, her senses overwhelmed by the acrid scent of ozone. Her mind was racing; their victory was hard fought, and she doubted they had much left in the tank for another confrontation. She dug her hands into the ground and pushed herself up as she choked from the smell. The Warlord Morgan and his military guards snapped to attention, forming a protective ring around the crater that now marred the earth.
From the smoking pit, a figure rose, unfolding from a crouch like something out of Terminator. Adorned in a red and white jumpsuit that accentuated his lithe build, the young man's appearance was marked by a red cowl and goggles, with sandy brown hair rebelliously spilling out.
Conner squinted through the dissipating smoke, murmuring under his breath, âA speedster?â The Flashes had had a variety of different sidekicks and other allies over the years, but none of them recognised this one
With a nonchalant flair that seemed at odds with the charged atmosphere, the newcomer greeted them. âHey, everyone chillax. I'm here to get you guys back home.â
Donna, ever the leader, stepped forward and spoke with a commanding curiosity, now emboldened with the war aura of Hawk. âAnd who are you exactly? Why should we trust you with such a claim?â
Flashing a cheeky grin, he tilted his head and responded, âWell, Iâm a speedster for one. Nameâs Impulse. If I run fast enough, then I can⊠well, I guess bend time.â
Behind Donna, the group exchanged sceptical glances. Raven's face remained shadowed by recovery, Mar'i and Conner braced for action, and Tim discretely checked his gadgets, no doubt for something that he could use on a speedster should the need arise.
âYeah, we figured that much,â Don cut through the tension, his voice calm yet insistent. âWho sent you?â
Impulse chuckled, his demeanour remaining unfazed by their scrutiny. âLook, the details aren't the fun part. Trust me, I can get us back.â
As a silence thick with doubt and scepticism settled over the group, Impulse seemed to realise his casual assurances weren't sufficient. With a theatrical sigh, he reached up and removed his mask, revealing a face familiar to both Mar'i and Raven.
âBrody!?â Mar'i exclaimed, her surprise echoing through the clearing as she stared at the boy who had once hobbled through their college classes with his leg in a cast.
The young manâs grin widened, his eyes sparkling with mischief and a hint of pride. âActually, itâs Bart.â

When Slade emerged from the shower, his skin was glistening with moisture, the water tracing the contours of his scars. He wrapped a stark white towel around his waist, and crossed the plush carpet to sit on the edge of the hotel room bed. He released a slow, deep breath; it was a good job the speedster kid arrived when he did. The notion of being stranded in an alien land or, worse, a different time had gnawed at him with a ferocity that was hard to admit. Without Bartâs intervention, every one of Sladeâs meticulously crafted plans would have been utterly dashed.
Facing him, a wall-mounted mirror caught his rugged reflection. Drawn to his own image, Slade studied the scars that mapped his trials, the slick white hair that crowned his head, and the deep lines etched into his face. A familiar discomfort nagged at him, focusing his attention on his right eye. Unable to alleviate the irritation through the skin, Slade exhaled heavily and carefully removed the eye altogether. The movement, fluid and practised, spoke of years of adaptation.
He placed the prosthetic gently on the bed beside him and as he massaged the socket, a decades-old habit, his mind wandered. He wasn't accustomed to keeping the prosthetic in for extended periods. Showering with it had been an uncomfortable experiment in necessity - he didn't like it, but understood the importance of maintaining the facade. The Slade he would have people believe he was would have never lost an eye, because that Slade had led a life far from by the darker paths Slade had truthfully trodden.
His thoughts wandered to his brief time wielding the potent powers of Dove, and Slade felt a twinge of regret at their loss. The clarity and strength those powers had provided were intoxicating, yet he recognised that he had a more important goal, one he couldnât compromise. His current role demanded not the accumulation of power but the perfection of his deceit, ensuring that all believed he was not the Slade Wilson they knew, but a Reawakened, more innocent doppelganger.
Now, with the glass eye resting beside him, Slade stared at his unmasked visage. Maintaining the myth of the noble Slade was critical. The ruthless mercenary, the Worldâs Deadliest Killer - those identities had to remain buried. The Titans had believed him enough to entrust him with divine powers, their faith a testament to his performance, but the game was far from over; in fact, it was entering its most critical phase.

The "In Case You Missed It" Thread - for all the highlights we weren't paying attention to...
/soccer is often dominated by discussion around the Premier League, and the biggest European teams. This means other clubs and leagues can get overlooked. The idea for this thread is a "second chance" to share goals, highlights, and other news stories that may not have got their deserved spotlight this week.There are just three rules (as well as all our others about shitposting, trolling etc)
- No Premier League "Super League Six" teams (Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City, Man United, Spurs) OR Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG or Bayern Munich
- The original post must have had less than 1,000 upvotes when first posted on /soccer (if posted at all)

There was a hot-mic moment before the halftime show of Portland vs San Jose tonight. I want to hop in front of it and let everyone know it was me. Iâm extremely sorry and embarrassed it happened.
I try to be objective but ultimately, I prefer when the Timbers win. Based on the scoreline at half I was frustrated, making an ill-fated joke to my producer.
I donât want this mistake to define the amount of work Iâve put in and will continue to put in. I love being part of the radio team and upset with myself I put that in jeopardy.
Iâm most of all sorry to Phil Neville who is kind enough to give me time before every match for a one-on-one interview and Iâve learned so much about the game from him already. I see how much he gives behind the scenes and his level of care for this club is more than anyone.
I'm really sorry everyone. Hope I didn't cast too negative a light on an otherwise great result.

Hey everyone! It's me, Yume! The new Gaylor who's not fully convinced with Taylor's gayness but is def finds the idea intriguing and making sense.
Today, I propose an interesting imagination that I'm not convinced in myself would happen but how has that stopped me or anyone honestly!
The imagination, in question, is the idea that Female Rage: The Musical can be an interesting concept with Taylor coming out at the end of it.
Imagine Taylor Swift, the megastar directing a Broadway show. The fans are excited for it. Everyone is intrigued. There's bitchin', there's speculations and then the fated night comes.
Taylor begins her musical with a monologue ("Who's afraid of little old me?") and tells her this musical is a story of superstar named Cassandra.
Then musical has the following story order.
Act 1 It follows the introduction of the superstar as some girl who collects boys and dates a lot of them. Everyone has their eyes on her. She goes on dates, she is madly obsessed with her breakups. We see scenes related to that and then a public breakup news follows of the girl. We see the media narrating how the girl crying madly alone and swearing she will get the boy back.

She pulls herself up and does PR walks, song releases for the team. Now, news breaks she has found another boy, her new target, dates & speculations. The girl is visibly happy in public. Act 3 The singer finally breaks down while on a PR walk shocking everyone. She begs her team to let her be real for once. Her team is shocked and realise there's not much option left now.
Flashback scene - we see her meet with another girl(Let's name her Betty) They seem to be talking about a relationship but then we realise that they are talking about their relationship. They are dating. The other girl breaks up with her because she never came out when she promised she would last time. Cassandra tells her she wanted to but then the scandal happened, and her team.. but then Betty leaves
Back in present, Cassandra holds a press conference and reveals who she is. She is lesbian. This shocks everyone. And then on live, she sings a song for her real love apolgizing for what happened.
She ends the press conference. We hear multiple how lots of followers she loses, she earns support from alot of people but alot of people scream how she is acting all woke fakely.
One last scene. Cassandra is alone in a garden singing a song when someone comes to meet her. It is Betty. They reconcile and kiss and the act ends.

Today, I propose an interesting imagination that I'm not convinced in myself would happen but how has that stopped me or anyone honestly!
The imagination, in question, is the idea that Female Rage: The Musical can be an interesting concept with Taylor coming out at the end of it.
Imagine Taylor Swift, the megastar directing a Broadway show. The fans are excited for it. Everyone is intrigued. There's bitchin', there's speculations and then the fated night comes.
Taylor begins her musical with a monologue ("Who's afraid of little old me?") and tells her this musical is a story of superstar named Cassandra.
Then musical has the following story order.
Act 1 It follows the introduction of the superstar as some girl who collects boys and dates a lot of them. Everyone has their eyes on her. She goes on dates, she is madly obsessed with her breakups. We see scenes related to that and then a public breakup news follows of the girl. We see the media narrating how the girl crying madly alone and swearing she will get the boy back.
