The biggest thing that stood out is that the AI often sways back and forth when shooting. Before they were very stiff and robotic in the way they stopped, aimed, and shot. It made them very, very predictable and with enough experience you could easily pick them off before they could react to you by abusing their robotic behavior patterns.
Now that they sway, it takes a little longer to aim, and sometimes they dip in and our of coveline of sight leading to a more prolonged fight. For me it feels more organic and engaging to fight them. Since the fights are longer, I'm also finding more value in seeking cover an taking the time to position/mount weapons instead of charging straight in.
AI reaction time seems faster, and I'm definitely feeling their accuracy penalty if I'm close in on them. It just feels better overall, previously there were many times where they would just stare off in the distance for several seconds even after I engaged. Even though they shoot back faster, not dying instantly, definitely the accuracy penalty. Finding that it leads to some tense engagements but still feels fair, and I'm finding it more enjoyable because everyone is just shooting at each other.
The AI pathfinding seemed to improve, seeing less running out in the open. While there is still noticeable clustering and lines of soldiers forming a train, there's definitely less of it, and it doesn't seem as sever to the point where they were stacking on top of each other. They also seem to stay put and shoot more instead of aimlessly walk around during a fight, this is likely that note were they don't seek far off cover. They also crawl into cover well after being downed, had several that had gotten away and survived because of it (both for my squad and enemy).
Overall the AI seems feels more organic, a little more threatening, and a lot more survivable. Feels like the games are slowing down a bit and being more tactical, yet still action packed now that the AI is doing a lot more shooting, and less dying. I feel like I can lean more on my AI squad mates to cover me, and it's a lot more engaging fighting other AI. Really glad how these AI changes turned out!

Take note of the green in the memes... For examples, get ready to bite the apple and take profit, and when it is red, get ready to buy. It corresponds with the video where he is wearing the green glove and things are in reverse and back-to-front.
Notice how in the School of Rock video, the getting wasted letters are in green? Is he trying to signal, that is when the market is about to take a dump.
Notice the Kill Bill scene? Right as the market had hit the floor for today. And that, is one bloody scene.
HOWEVER, I must stress, that DRS is of course what we have established is how we end this. However, if there is cash on the side line for options or day trading.
I know he isn't a day trader, however is this how we capitalise to then buy lower?

Having said his piece, Rene had expected the woman to accept her role as a prisoner of the Fleet. But no sooner had he taken his knee of her back than she was at him again, rolling over and cursing as she tried to spit him on her claws. Training kicked in and Rene applied the wrestling component of his hand-to-hand combat course. He secured underhooks with his arms, locking them together with his hands and hugging her tight from behind. Zildiz bucked and twisted around in a futile attempt to make room for her blades, even managing to get one of her knees beneath her and push off the ground. Rene allowed her to gain her feet, cunningly using the opening to slip the loop of his encircling arms around her waist. Now in complete control of her center of gravity, Rene swung his leg out and arched his back, heaving her up and over like a sack of turnips in a textbook suplex. A fraction of a second before he smashed the top of her skull into the hard ground, he remembered that he was supposed to keep prisoners alive and preferably not in a vegetative state, and so he cushioned the fall with his own body, falling on his side to increase surface area and dissipate the force.
Zildiz was caught totally by surprise. Unlike Rene she had neglected to tuck in her chin before the moment of impact, a vital detail which was one of the first things a recruit was taught to do on the mats.
“Oof!” she said as all the breath slammed out of her by the throw. Rene felt her body go limp as her dazed senses tried to adjust to the violent change of orientation. He took advantage of this moment of weakness and looped his legs around her body, locking his ankles together to form a full body triangle. His left forearm punched up and took her neck in a rear naked choke, a suffocating vise formed by the insides of his elbow crushing her windpipe and carotid arteries.
“I warned you,” he told her. His choking hand grabbed the inside of his other elbow, right forearm sneaking behind her neck and under his armpit, tightening the garrote even further.
“Had enough?”
“Hrrnnkk…” Zildiz choked. She lifted an arm and slid back the blade until it was the length of a finger, deliberately giving Rene the universal gesture to go and fornicate with himself, before sheathing the claw entirely and aiming her fist at him over her shoulder.
Rene ducked as the blade shot out again, only just avoiding it going through his eye socket and into his brain. As it was, it only nicked his temple, sending warm lines of blood trickling down his visor. Rene hugged her even tighter, constricting the chokehold until he heard her breathing reduced to an agonized wheeze. He throttled her until she stopped moving, her struggles weakening until she went completely lax. Then he held the choke for exactly three seconds longer, counting carefully to avoid giving her lasting brain damage. He let go and was relieved to hear her snoring faintly. Gently rolling her onto her back so she didn’t suffocate in the dirt, Rene cast about for a means to secure his prisoner. He had only a few seconds before she regained consciousness. Quickly he cut some vines from the surrounding trees and knotted them into a crude rope. He flipped her back over again and tied her hands at the wrists and elbows. He had no illusions that it would hold her for long. He tied her wings together at their bases for good measure. She had two sets of them, but the larger pair was missing one of its partners that had been torn off at the socket to reveal a gaping wound. They were wondrously tough membranes considering how thin and flexible they were, as sturdy as ultrapod leather. Rene looked over his work and loosened it a bit so as not to cut off the circulation in her arms. It wasn’t bad for something done on the fly. Then again, he’d been playing this whole thing by ear ever since the ambush that had cut his unit to pieces. Ye gods, but that whole experience felt like a lifetime ago. He had not expected to ever use that component of his hand-to-hand training designed for fighting human opponents. Of course, he’d helped put down a fair share of civil unrest in his time, but even during the worst of the food riots in Mound Ulysses he’d never so much as given a person a light shove. The civilians knew better than to antagonize a battalion of the Fleet’s finest over something as routine and reoccurring as a government rationing in the face of crop failure.
He felt quite bad about having to roughhouse the woman, that is, until she sat up awake and glowered hatefully at him, coughing and retching.
“Don’t,” he pleaded with her in exasperation as she gave him the old stink eye, “I don’t want to fight you again.”
“Why?” she spat defiantly, “Afraid you’d lose?”
“Uh huh,” Rene grunted, amused and even a little impressed by her spunk. She couldn’t have weighed more than sixty kilos soaking wet and was at least half a foot shorter than him even with that exomorph of hers, but this woman was all fight and no quit. She would have to be, living on the surface world and facing these abominations day after day. Rene looked at the dismembered corpses of the black-furred devils and had a sudden jolt of inspiration. As Zildiz tested the strength of her restraints Rene went over to the monster he had chopped to bits and poked the misshapen hump on its back, which had excreted thick ribbons of silk at the moment of death. Feeling more than a little squeamish, Rene pulled on the threads of silk. He had only meant to collect two or three meters of the material, but more and more of the stuff kept unwinding out its glands like a handkerchief from a magician’s pocket. Eventually his hands became enmeshed in the horrid stuff and he had to struggle like the dickens to unstick himself and scrape it off onto a bush where it stuck like a lumpy hammock. Remembering how his enemy had plugged the stab wound in its gut, Rene snapped off a twig and curled it into the white mess like those vendors at the fairs did with candy cloud treats, ending up with a spool of silk. He applied it to the cut on his temple by winding it around his head like a bandage, and was gratified when it stopped the bleeding almost immediately. He heard the rustle of dead leaves and turned around to find Zildiz furtively attempting to sidle away from him.
“Don’t even try it,” he told her, “Or I’ll run you down and knock you senseless. I’m taking you back to civilization. The Fleet needs to know what it’s up against out here, and you’re a veritable trove of information.”
Zildiz squatted back down and stared at him, simmering with resentment. Rene shook his head and continued his work, moving on to the monster that had been the first to die at the woman’s hands. Cutting open its hump, Rene was rewarded with a dense lump of thread still packed inside its spinneret. He took another twig and spooled it in, then wrapped the bundle of silk in a large leaf.
A leg twitched of its own accord. Rene nearly dropped the bundle as he sprang back, sword upraised. The devil’s limbs began doing a tap dance and Rene relaxed a bit, recognizing it as the onset of rigor mortis. The side of its face was split open and hanging loosely by a strap of flesh. Struck by a nagging suspicion, Rene stooped down and peeled off the segments of its head, holding the edge of his sword against its neck to decapitate it in the event that it proved too lively for his liking.
The musculature and armor tore away just like it had with Zildiz’s helm, and for the second time that night he found himself staring into the face of another living human being. Only this time it was a man whose face was utterly disfigured, a perversion of the basic form. In the place of his lower jaw were fingerlike protrusions of gummy tissue and exposed nerve endings. His nose cartilage was likewise missing, leaving only a pair of holes dribbling with snot. The man blinked, and glassy eyes with almost no whites at their edges fixed Rene in their gaze.
“Kill…me…” the man whispered.
Rene began to shake uncontrollably, wiping a trembling hand across his mouth as he was forced to consider the carnage he’d just wrought in a new and horrifying light. These weren’t three dead monsters littering the jungle floor; these were three dead men, and some of them he had killed himself.
“Kill me!” the man begged him. He was young, barely Rene’s age, his smooth skin untroubled by the wrinkles of age and worry. He had clear brown pupils and dark, expressive brows. If it weren’t for all the rest of him, Rene might’ve mistaken him for a fresh-faced recruit at the academy, or a paperboy climbing up the terraced apartments of inner hive to deliver news of the Fleet’s latest victory.
On unsteady legs Rene staggered back to Zildiz’s side and away from the awful truth he had uncovered.
“Something the matter?” Zildiz asked in a gleeful tone, “Feeling a little worse for wear, are we?”
“Shut it,” Rene said distantly. He dragged Zildiz to her feet and began winding the silk around her wrists, layering them over thick and tying them off with a simple knot. He kept the vines on her for added insurance and told her to start walking.
“Where to?” she demanded.
“I’m not feeding you to my children, if that’s what you’re asking,” he muttered, “I don’t have any to begin with, and even if I did, I sure as hell wouldn’t raise them to be cannibals.”
Zildiz didn’t move, so Rene grabbed her and frog marched her away. He had no real destination in mind—he just had to get away from this place and the bodies he’d made. Zildiz rounded on Rene, saying:
“Aren’t you going to deal with him? I only severed his neural connection to paralyze his exomorph. He’s still very much alive.”
“No!” Rene yelled, “That’s not how I—how people do things. Almighty ancestors, is that so hard for you to grasp?”
“Yes,” Zildiz replied quite candidly.
“He’s a living, breathing human being. I don’t know if you’ve heard, but those are pretty rare on Arachnea and worth keeping around.”
“No. He is a Leaper. After extracting your gilt helix, he and his packmates would devoured you right then and there.”
“That’s why you saved me, isn’t it? So they couldn’t obtain this shiny helix thing?”
Zildiz ignored his question, continuing:
“If you leave him here, at best he will die of exposure. At worst, his tribe will come looking for him, and if they find him, they will run us down and kill us anyway.”
Rene bit his lip. She spoke the truth and they both knew it. But after all this world had already taken from him, there remained one thing which he refused to part with. And Rene knew that if he gave in now and took the expedient option—the sensible option—he would be surrendering it forever.
“Sorry,” he said finally, “That’s against the rules.”
He dragged Zildiz over to the Leaper and spoke to him, saying:
“I won’t kill you. I’m not about to eat you either, so you can stop begging for a quick death. As long as you tell me what I want to know, we’ll leave you here and go our separate ways. I might even patch your wounds if you’re cooperative. Does that strike you as a fair bargain?”
The Leaper met this pronouncement with a look of utter perplexity that mirrored the one on Zildiz’s face.
“I’ll take that silence as a yes,” Rene said impatiently, “You’ll begin by telling me your name.”
“Kryptusshh,” the Leaper said slowly, as if not daring to hope.
“Very good. Are there any more of your people out there, Kryptus?”
“Why sshhould I trusht you? I would only be dooming more of my kindred, and there issh no certainty you would not kill me afterwardssh.”
“It’s a chance you have to take,” Rene shrugged, “Either that, or I’ll let this woman do as she pleases with you. And just between you and me,” he said in a loud stage whisper, “She doesn’t seem all that fond of your sort.”
Zildiz and Kryptus locked eyes with each other. Rene could almost feel the waves of hatred coming off her as she bristled, every tendon in her body tensing expectantly. Kryptus must have seen something he didn’t like, for he looked away and said:
“I am a warrior of the Weeping Vipersh. We are roughly eleven hundred sshtrong. One tenth of that number are bravesshh like me.”
“He lies,” Zildiz said, baring her teeth in a snarl, “That is less than half their true strength. He does not count the adolescents and the old loom-mothers, who are the deadliest of their kind.”
“Three hundred, then, if they are consshidered,” Kryptman quickly admitted, “Your pardon, merciful one.”
“I’ll excuse your forgetfulness just this once,” Rene warned, “But your memory better not fail you again.”
He questioned the Leaper closely. Kryptus claimed that only he and his pack had seen the safety pod’s crash landing, and that they had told no one else as they wished to claim the great prize all for themselves. The Weeping Vipers were the largest tribe in the rainforest and were always looking for an advantage over their numerous and belligerent neighbors. Apparently Kryptus had hoped to gain a modicum of the Divine Engine’s power by extracting something called a ‘gilt helix’ from Rene’s blood.
“Jussht one sample would have shatishfied uss,” Kryptus swore, “Then we would have taken you back to the Loom alive.”
“I’m sure nothing would’ve pleased you better,” Rene said wryly, all too cognizant of Zildiz’s earlier assumption that he planned to feed her to the Fleet’s youth.
Rene learned from Kryptus that the Divine Engine had ignited a blazing wildfire that was swiftly spreading north and west. The tribes would likely have noticed it by now, and would all be sending braves in a joint effort to douse the flames. For some reason all the Leapers felt collectively responsible for the wellbeing of the region, and could not allow it to come to harm for fear of dire repercussions.
“Last question. Is anyone going to come looking for you?”
“Not till the morning.”
“Good!” said Zildiz, breaking out of Rene’s grip and aiming a vicious kick at the side of the Leaper’s head. Rene barely caught her and yanked her back, shouting:
“Blood and thunder, woman! Is there nothing you won’t do to piss me off?”
“Are you insane? You cannot possibly mean to leave him alive!” the Gallivant hissed.
“That’s exactly what I’m going to do. Now come here!”
Rene took her by the elbow and pulled her forward, leaving Kryptus where he lay.
“You promished you would tend to my woundssh!” the Leaper cried after them.
“Don’t push your luck!” Rene said over his shoulder, “Anyone who follows us will meet the same end as your friends.”
He and his prisoner went tramping off into the night, Zildiz raging at him all the while.
“Fool! We will both come to regret that decision!”
“You’re probably right,” Rene had to agree.
“Then why did you do it?”
“For the same reason I’m letting you strut around and screech into my ear. What can I say? I’m a conversationalist.”

Of course, he’d helped put down a fair share of civil unrest in his time, but even during the worst of the food riots in Mound Ulysses he’d never so much as given a person a light shove. The civilians knew better than to antagonize a battalion of the Fleet’s finest over something as routine and reoccurring as a government rationing in the face of crop failure.
He felt quite bad about having to roughhouse the woman, that is, until she sat up awake and glowered hatefully at him, coughing and retching.
“Don’t,” he pleaded with her in exasperation as she gave him the old stink eye, “I don’t want to fight you again.”
“Why?” she spat defiantly, “Afraid you’d lose?”
“Uh huh,” Rene grunted, amused and even a little impressed by her spunk. She couldn’t have weighed more than sixty kilos soaking wet and was at least half a foot shorter than him even with that exomorph of hers, but this woman was all fight and no quit. She would have to be, living on the surface world and facing these abominations day after day. Rene looked at the dismembered corpses of the black-furred devils and had a sudden jolt of inspiration. As Zildiz tested the strength of her restraints Rene went over to the monster he had chopped to bits and poked the misshapen hump on its back, which had excreted thick ribbons of silk at the moment of death. Feeling more than a little squeamish, Rene pulled on the threads of silk. He had only meant to collect two or three meters of the material, but more and more of the stuff kept unwinding out its glands like a handkerchief from a magician’s pocket. Eventually his hands became enmeshed in the horrid stuff and he had to struggle like the dickens to unstick himself and scrape it off onto a bush where it stuck like a lumpy hammock. Remembering how his enemy had plugged the stab wound in its gut, Rene snapped off a twig and curled it into the white mess like those vendors at the fairs did with candy cloud treats, ending up with a spool of silk. He applied it to the cut on his temple by winding it around his head like a bandage, and was gratified when it stopped the bleeding almost immediately. He heard the rustle of dead leaves and turned around to find Zildiz furtively attempting to sidle away from him.
“Don’t even try it,” he told her, “Or I’ll run you down and knock you senseless. I’m taking you back to civilization. The Fleet needs to know what it’s up against out here, and you’re a veritable trove of information.”
Zildiz squatted back down and stared at him, simmering with resentment. Rene shook his head and continued his work, moving on to the monster that had been the first to die at the woman’s hands. Cutting open its hump, Rene was rewarded with a dense lump of thread still packed inside its spinneret. He took another twig and spooled it in, then wrapped the bundle of silk in a large leaf.
A leg twitched of its own accord. Rene nearly dropped the bundle as he sprang back, sword upraised. The devil’s limbs began doing a tap dance and Rene relaxed a bit, recognizing it as the onset of rigor mortis. The side of its face was split open and hanging loosely by a strap of flesh. Struck by a nagging suspicion, Rene stooped down and peeled off the segments of its head, holding the edge of his sword against its neck to decapitate it in the event that it proved too lively for his liking.
The musculature and armor tore away just like it had with Zildiz’s helm, and for the second time that night he found himself staring into the face of another living human being. Only this time it was a man whose face was utterly disfigured, a perversion of the basic form. In the place of his lower jaw were fingerlike protrusions of gummy tissue and exposed nerve endings. His nose cartilage was likewise missing, leaving only a pair of holes dribbling with snot. The man blinked, and glassy eyes with almost no whites at their edges fixed Rene in their gaze.
“Kill…me…” the man whispered.
Rene began to shake uncontrollably, wiping a trembling hand across his mouth as he was forced to consider the carnage he’d just wrought in a new and horrifying light. These weren’t three dead monsters littering the jungle floor; these were three dead men, and some of them he had killed himself.
“Kill me!” the man begged him. He was young, barely Rene’s age, his smooth skin untroubled by the wrinkles of age and worry. He had clear brown pupils and dark, expressive brows. If it weren’t for all the rest of him, Rene might’ve mistaken him for a fresh-faced recruit at the academy, or a paperboy climbing up the terraced apartments of inner hive to deliver news of the Fleet’s latest victory.
On unsteady legs Rene staggered back to Zildiz’s side and away from the awful truth he had uncovered.
“Something the matter?” Zildiz asked in a gleeful tone, “Feeling a little worse for wear, are we?”
“Shut it,” Rene said distantly. He dragged Zildiz to her feet and began winding the silk around her wrists, layering them over thick and tying them off with a simple knot. He kept the vines on her for added insurance and told her to start walking.
“Where to?” she demanded.
“I’m not feeding you to my children, if that’s what you’re asking,” he muttered, “I don’t have any to begin with, and even if I did, I sure as hell wouldn’t raise them to be cannibals.”
Zildiz didn’t move, so Rene grabbed her and frog marched her away. He had no real destination in mind—he just had to get away from this place and the bodies he’d made. Zildiz rounded on Rene, saying:
“Aren’t you going to deal with him? I only severed his neural connection to paralyze his exomorph. He’s still very much alive.”
“No!” Rene yelled, “That’s not how I—how people do things. Almighty ancestors, is that so hard for you to grasp?”
“Yes,” Zildiz replied quite candidly.
“He’s a living, breathing human being. I don’t know if you’ve heard, but those are pretty rare on Arachnea and worth keeping around.”
“No. He is a Leaper. After extracting your gilt helix, he and his packmates would devoured you right then and there.”
“That’s why you saved me, isn’t it? So they couldn’t obtain this shiny helix thing?”
Zildiz ignored his question, continuing:
“If you leave him here, at best he will die of exposure. At worst, his tribe will come looking for him, and if they find him, they will run us down and kill us anyway.”
Rene bit his lip. She spoke the truth and they both knew it. But after all this world had already taken from him, there remained one thing which he refused to part with. And Rene knew that if he gave in now and took the expedient option—the sensible option—he would be surrendering it forever.
“Sorry,” he said finally, “That’s against the rules.”
He dragged Zildiz over to the Leaper and spoke to him, saying:
“I won’t kill you. I’m not about to eat you either, so you can stop begging for a quick death. As long as you tell me what I want to know, we’ll leave you here and go our separate ways. I might even patch your wounds if you’re cooperative. Does that strike you as a fair bargain?”
The Leaper met this pronouncement with a look of utter perplexity that mirrored the one on Zildiz’s face.
“I’ll take that silence as a yes,” Rene said impatiently, “You’ll begin by telling me your name.”
“Kryptusshh,” the Leaper said slowly, as if not daring to hope.
“Very good. Are there any more of your people out there, Kryptus?”
“Why sshhould I trusht you? I would only be dooming more of my kindred, and there issh no certainty you would not kill me afterwardssh.”
“It’s a chance you have to take,” Rene shrugged, “Either that, or I’ll let this woman do as she pleases with you. And just between you and me,” he said in a loud stage whisper, “She doesn’t seem all that fond of your sort.”
Zildiz and Kryptus locked eyes with each other. Rene could almost feel the waves of hatred coming off her as she bristled, every tendon in her body tensing expectantly. Kryptus must have seen something he didn’t like, for he looked away and said:
“I am a warrior of the Weeping Vipersh. We are roughly eleven hundred sshtrong. One tenth of that number are bravesshh like me.”
“He lies,” Zildiz said, baring her teeth in a snarl, “That is less than half their true strength. He does not count the adolescents and the old loom-mothers, who are the deadliest of their kind.”
“Three hundred, then, if they are consshidered,” Kryptman quickly admitted, “Your pardon, merciful one.”
“I’ll excuse your forgetfulness just this once,” Rene warned, “But your memory better not fail you again.”
He questioned the Leaper closely. Kryptus claimed that only he and his pack had seen the safety pod’s crash landing, and that they had told no one else as they wished to claim the great prize all for themselves. The Weeping Vipers were the largest tribe in the rainforest and were always looking for an advantage over their numerous and belligerent neighbors. Apparently Kryptus had hoped to gain a modicum of the Divine Engine’s power by extracting something called a ‘gilt helix’ from Rene’s blood.
“Jussht one sample would have shatishfied uss,” Kryptus swore, “Then we would have taken you back to the Loom alive.”
“I’m sure nothing would’ve pleased you better,” Rene said wryly, all too cognizant of Zildiz’s earlier assumption that he planned to feed her to the Fleet’s youth.
Rene learned from Kryptus that the Divine Engine had ignited a blazing wildfire that was swiftly spreading north and west. The tribes would likely have noticed it by now, and would all be sending braves in a joint effort to douse the flames. For some reason all the Leapers felt collectively responsible for the wellbeing of the region, and could not allow it to come to harm for fear of dire repercussions.
“Last question. Is anyone going to come looking for you?”
“Not till the morning.”
“Good!” said Zildiz, breaking out of Rene’s grip and aiming a vicious kick at the side of the Leaper’s head. Rene barely caught her and yanked her back, shouting:
“Blood and thunder, woman! Is there nothing you won’t do to piss me off?”
“Are you insane? You cannot possibly mean to leave him alive!” the Gallivant hissed.
“That’s exactly what I’m going to do. Now come here!”
Rene took her by the elbow and pulled her forward, leaving Kryptus where he lay.
“You promished you would tend to my woundssh!” the Leaper cried after them.
“Don’t push your luck!” Rene said over his shoulder, “Anyone who follows us will meet the same end as your friends.”
He and his prisoner went tramping off into the night, Zildiz raging at him all the while.
“Fool! We will both come to regret that decision!”
“You’re probably right,” Rene had to agree.
“Then why did you do it?”
“For the same reason I’m letting you strut around and screech into my ear. What can I say? I’m a conversationalist.”

I was writing a bit of code earlier today, and I had 8 different methods that followed a similar pattern of how logging and metrics reporting was done based upon what kinds of errors were thrown. This set me off a bit as I would have 20 line long methods, wherein 8 to 12 lines were for logs and metrics. And, those 8 to twelves lines only obfuscate the actual logic that a future reader would want to see.
So, of course I pulled it all out and write a wrapping function. And so, every place I would call a method, I would then also call the wrapping function, `LogOutput(mySvc.SomeMethod, input1, input2))`.
This means I would need to make sure that every time the code was updated and a method was called, the engineer would need to remember to wrap the method in a logger. Now, if I had a decorator, I could avoid the logger being being forgotten, and all around let the future engineers forget it exists.

I do not believe it obfuscates anything as as soon as you seen the decorator, you can go to the code and see exactly what it does. To be clear, I am arguing for Java/TS type decorators, and not Java type, which uses aspect magic that hides much of the behavior.
I know this debate comes up every few months on this subreddit, but it's just such a simple and nice feature that I think gets undo hate (probably, partly because of how badly Java does it). That being said, bring on the hate. :)

This is in response to a couple of posts from the past week regarding generative AI but long and late enough I figured a separate post makes sense.
I'm a songwritemusic producer who has been pretty deeply involved in these conversations for the past year. Below are insights I've gleaned. You can also join me at artistsresist.org where you will find my more or less monthly articles on generative AI and techsploitation. You can subscribe for free or (if you’re able to and want to support this work) support Artists Resisting Exploitation (ARE) at various tiers.
That said, we don’t actually need a single leader. The scope and reach of Big Tech is so great that no single person can seriously take this issue on and win. Moreover, elected officials like Senator Chuck Schumer have too much of a vested interest in our failure (including too many personal ties to Big Tech). Therefore, despite the fact that most people think stealing from artists to train generative AI on copyrighted work is wrong, the government continues to delay real regulation and to cater to Silicon Valley and Wall Street (fintech).
What’s working, nonetheless, are the efforts of and solidarity between many artists, including visual artists affiliated with the Concept Art Association and Create Don’t Scrape, writers with the Authors Guild, well-known musicians with the Artists Right Alliance, the Recording Academy, the Human Artistry Campaign, and (I like to think) the very grassroots work of Artists Resisting Exploitation (ARE). All of these groups fight for artists’ copyrights.
Note that there are groups like Fight for the Future (which is affiliated with Union of Musicians and Allied Workers (UMAW)), which are actively anti-copyrights but not always upfront about this. (Creative Commons and Electronic Frontier Foundation are also anti-copyrights and have aligned with Big Tech corporations’ “fair use” defense of scraping copyrighted work to train generative AI models.) However, for self-serving reasons, these anti-copyrights organizations are the groups academia (full of pro-scraping, Big Tech-funded researchers), the government, and tech policy groups and think tanks often turn to for “artists’ perspectives.”
In general, I suggest avoiding AI bros and focusing on uniting with likeminded artists. I think this is a better use of time and has more of an impact than attempting to convince those who put profits over people, including those who are paid to promote generative AI, invested in generative AI stocks, or employed by exploitative gen AI companies, to do what is right.
I firmly believe that if the vast majority of artists, who tend to care about protecting copyrights, band together, we can and will get through this. Popular generative AI models could not exist without us. In essence, these corporations and their users are dependent on us. But oppressors have historically (and possibly as a defense mechanism) long disrespected and despised those they’ve exploited. This is no different. Still, they only win if we give them our power by being complacent. I personally love art and artists too much to stand by while something that is so precious to my existence and to that of humanity is grossly devalued. No art form that can be digitized, however unique or innovative, is safe. Groundbreaking work that an artist has devoted years to creating can be pilfered, increasingly, in a matter of minutes.
We need solidarity between artists of all disciplines. For musicians, this means not using AI models that were created by exploiting visual artists (for example, for album art), writers, voice actors, etc. Fairly Trained has ethically created alternatives, and we should use those if we use gen AI at all. We also need to consider ways we, like visual artists, can poison models by supporting the development of tools similar to Glaze and Nightshade.
In the short term, we must speak up on social media, leave comments on articles and videos, and (most importantly) contact elected officials. In-person advocacy is especially effective. You can find your state arts advocacy group and get involved by meeting with or, if that’s not possible, calling or emailing your local and state elected officials. For Californians, these would be Californians for the Arts and its lobbying arm California Arts Advocates. In April, ARE joined other arts groups in meeting with the offices of seven elected officials in Sacramento. Remember, elected officials want to be re-elected.
Californians for the Arts’ and California Art Advocates’ rallying cry this year is #ArtWorkIsRealWork. Spread the word and post this everywhere, please. There is nothing wrong with wanting to make a living from work that you love and that you have devoted years to studying. Moreover, the fact that AI companies need and profit from your work is evidence of its value. There is something wrong with seeking to profit from another human being’s nonconsensual, unpaid, and (therefore) coerced labor.
Again, although there are advocacy groups, this is an all-hands-on-deck moment. Fighting Big Tech corporations that have seemingly unlimited wealth to throw at corrupt government officials all over the world—much of it, ironically, gleaned through exploiting artists—is exhausting extra work nobody asked for. They hope we will tire of it and give up. Those at the forefront of this struggle need to know that there are others who can take the baton when we need a break. I think I can safely say nearly all artists doing advocacy work on this issue would rather be making art. But we see a world in which that will be, increasingly, difficult as our works are stolen to line the pockets of the wealthy and then used against us to force us out of creative industries. So, if you love your art and art, in general, please do your part.

2024.05.16 21:01 relationshipguy254 How Do Narcissists Act When You Start Giving Someone Else Attention and Not Them?
When you're in a relationship with a narcissist, it's incredibly draining and damaging to your self-esteem. You may become so accustomed to their behavior that you feel isolated from the outside world. However, let's say you become aware of their abusive behaviors and decide to start seeing other people or going out on dates. Maybe you're still in the relationship, considering breaking up, or you've recently broken up. You're now focusing on someone else, and they're hardly getting any of your attention. How would they react?
Rage
The first reaction typically is rage. They'll become extremely angry at you for moving on. Seeing you with someone else triggers their deep insecurities, and they often suppress this anger until it bursts out explosively. They may display aggressive or violent behavior, perhaps even breaking things, as their insecurities are laid bare. Being close to them during such outbursts is not advisable.
Hoovering
Another possible reaction is that they may try to lure you back. Narcissists thrive on power and control, so when they see someone else getting your attention, they may see it as a challenge to their superiority. They might exploit your vulnerabilities and weaknesses to manipulate you into returning to them. Their goal is not genuine change but to reaffirm their sense of superiority. They may apologize, ‘change’ their behavior temporarily, or resort to love bombing to win you back, all to maintain their position of dominance and control.
Play Victim
Another tactic they might employ is playing the victim. Seeing you with someone else may trigger their insecurities, causing them to accuse you of cheating or blame you for not wanting to salvage the relationship. They may guilt-trip you by claiming you were supposed to be there for them forever. In their eyes, your actions are a betrayal, and they may twist the situation to paint themselves as the victim, turning the blame onto you and making you out to be the abusive one.
Smear Tactics
Another tactic they may use is to smear your name. When they see you giving attention to someone else, they may start spreading lies about you to your family or mutual acquaintances. They might claim that you're being unfaithful or suggest that you were the problem in the relationship. By tarnishing your reputation, they aim to manipulate others into sympathizing with them and viewing you as the one at fault. This tactic allows them to elevate their own reputation while diminishing yours in the eyes of others.
So, those are some of the things that may happen when you redirect your attention away from the narcissist. However, it's important not to dwell too much on the potential consequences of shifting your focus onto someone else. Sometimes, you might be tempted to seek attention from another person as a way of seeking revenge or to prove to the narcissist that you're still desirable. But that's not the purpose of the your healing journey
If your intention in seeking out someone else or giving them attention is solely to make the narcissist feel bad, then you're approaching the healing journey from the wrong angle. While it might provide a momentary sense of relief or closure, ultimately, you're still caught up in a competition with the abusive person.
So instead of directing your attention inward and focusing on your own healing, you're inadvertently engaging in the narcissist's manipulative games. While it's fine to see other people if you choose to, doing so with the sole purpose of getting back at the narcissist or proving something to them only perpetuates the toxic cycle. In the end, you'll find yourself trapped in another unhealthy relationship, unable to move forward and sinking deeper into the same patterns of exploitation and manipulation.
Focus on yourself and prioritize your own healing without being overly concerned about the narcissist's reaction. While it's beneficial to gain insight into their behavior, the most important thing is to understand your own motivations. Are you seeking revenge or trying to escape from your own pain? Ultimately, true growth comes from facing your emotions and experiences head-on.

Rage

They may display aggressive or violent behavior, perhaps even breaking things, as their insecurities are laid bare. Being close to them during such outbursts is not advisable.
Hoovering
Another possible reaction is that they may try to lure you back. Narcissists thrive on power and control, so when they see someone else getting your attention, they may see it as a challenge to their superiority. They might exploit your vulnerabilities and weaknesses to manipulate you into returning to them. Their goal is not genuine change but to reaffirm their sense of superiority. They may apologize, ‘change’ their behavior temporarily, or resort to love bombing to win you back, all to maintain their position of dominance and control.
Play Victim
Another tactic they might employ is playing the victim. Seeing you with someone else may trigger their insecurities, causing them to accuse you of cheating or blame you for not wanting to salvage the relationship. They may guilt-trip you by claiming you were supposed to be there for them forever. In their eyes, your actions are a betrayal, and they may twist the situation to paint themselves as the victim, turning the blame onto you and making you out to be the abusive one.
Smear Tactics
Another tactic they may use is to smear your name. When they see you giving attention to someone else, they may start spreading lies about you to your family or mutual acquaintances. They might claim that you're being unfaithful or suggest that you were the problem in the relationship. By tarnishing your reputation, they aim to manipulate others into sympathizing with them and viewing you as the one at fault. This tactic allows them to elevate their own reputation while diminishing yours in the eyes of others.
So, those are some of the things that may happen when you redirect your attention away from the narcissist. However, it's important not to dwell too much on the potential consequences of shifting your focus onto someone else. Sometimes, you might be tempted to seek attention from another person as a way of seeking revenge or to prove to the narcissist that you're still desirable. But that's not the purpose of the your healing journey
If your intention in seeking out someone else or giving them attention is solely to make the narcissist feel bad, then you're approaching the healing journey from the wrong angle. While it might provide a momentary sense of relief or closure, ultimately, you're still caught up in a competition with the abusive person.
So instead of directing your attention inward and focusing on your own healing, you're inadvertently engaging in the narcissist's manipulative games. While it's fine to see other people if you choose to, doing so with the sole purpose of getting back at the narcissist or proving something to them only perpetuates the toxic cycle. In the end, you'll find yourself trapped in another unhealthy relationship, unable to move forward and sinking deeper into the same patterns of exploitation and manipulation.
Focus on yourself and prioritize your own healing without being overly concerned about the narcissist's reaction. While it's beneficial to gain insight into their behavior, the most important thing is to understand your own motivations. Are you seeking revenge or trying to escape from your own pain? Ultimately, true growth comes from facing your emotions and experiences head-on.

Yesterday I made a post about asking what cleaning games are out there. Since a few people seemed interested in this type of games too, I thought I would post again with a list of games that I either played or got recommended in my previous post. Feel free to comment more games if you think of any!
Organizing:
Wilmot's warehouse - organizing a warehouse full of products
A little to the left - organizing random items according to sizes, patterns, etc
Unpacking - you unpack boxes after moving and follow the story of the main character through their items, pixelated
Inbento - you organize bento boxes
Cats organized neatly - you organize cats lol
Supermarket simulator - you run a supermarket and have to stock shelves, didn't really hit the spot for me though
Cleaning: Powerwash simulator - you powerwash buildings, vehicles, etc, as stupid as it sounds, is genuinely one of my favorite games ever lol
Loddlenaut - you clean up underwater, feed fish, etc
Werecleaner - free game about being a werewolf cleaner who has to avoid being caught while he works night shifts, very short and you gotta be stealthy but it's still fun
Viscera cleanup detail - you're a space station janitor who cleans up after these sci-fi/horror events
Lawnmower simulator - a little different type of cleaning but still satisfying
House flipper 1 - you clean/paint/renovate and decorate houses, so many DLCs, workshop items
House flipper 2 - has better gameplay mechanics than the first one in my opinion but there is a lack of furniture and decorations for now, it just came out a few months ago, I would recommend playing the first game first
WW2 renovator - you renovate areas in England destroyed during WW2
Tran station renovation - you clean, recycle trash and decorate train stations
Hotel renovator - you renovate and decorate hotel rooms
Arcade paradise - you run an arcade and a laundromat at the same time, has cleaning elements but it didn't really hit that spot for me
Other satisfying games that kind of scratch the itch in one way or another:
Doronko Wanko - you play as a dog and try to get everything as messy as possible
Hardspace: shipbreake Ship graveyard simulator - you disassemble starships/ships and sell the parts for profit, VERY relaxing.
No place like home - game about sucking up trash and destroying rocks to clean up the land, it's great but a little repetitive
House builder - it's more about building houses from scratch rather than cleaning but it also scratched the itch for me in a way.
Katamari damacy reroll - you roll a ball around and get things stuck to it, making the ball bigger, very fun to play, has a sequel too.
Luigi's mansion 3 - a little different but you have a vacuum you can use to suck up everything around you
Donut county - you control a sinkhole that goes around town and swallows things, making it bigger

The free beers (as many as you can carry, they are pre-poured and ready on the tables so no waiting) at half time were also excellent (you can also ask at the bar for wine, cider and specific beers if you are prepared to queue).'

2024.05.16 20:59 shmeckers15 Anyone else feel like SJM changed her planned story arc for the series between HoF and QoS? Thoughts on possible OG story
First time reader, and only just finished EoS, but this has been BUGGING ME. Anyone else think the books were going to go on a somewhat different path (VERY different in terms of the relationship arc) and then they changed courses between HoF and QoS to make something they thought would sell better? Theory on the original plan for the series:
1) Choal was supposed to be Aelin's mate
-Towards the end of ToG there's a line where Aelin says she felt a "golden chain" inside her that bound her to Choal.
-Rowan asks if Aelin wants to know if Choal is her mate in HoF (like he KNOWS who her mate is) and Aelin says she doesn't want to know.
2) Rowan is just an older-brother figure
-They make it VERY CLEAR that, in HoF, there is like no sexual tension between the two of them. He sees her naked and like no reaction. They share a bed and there is no sexual tension. Like they make one or two references to Aelin feeling possessive, but maybe that was just the Carranam thing?
-HIS WHOLE FREAKIN BACKSTORY IS THAT HE'S TORMENTED BY THE LOSS OF HIS MATE. He has it TATOOED OVER HIS WHOLE BODY. He is remorse incarnate. Making him somehow super into/in love with Aelin at the beginning of QoS and saying in EoS that it was because Aelin was supposed to be his mate the whole time but Maeve somehow duped him into thinking Lyria was his mate feels like the biggest retcon ever
3) Maeve is just a selfish b*tch content to bide her time across the sea and enjoy her little kingdom while things go to hell in Erilea unless it serves her ends. Including her in HoF helps fill in the plot hole of why she didn't show up when Terrasan fell, and it would explain why we'd probably never see her again after Aelin frees Rowan in HoF to start her new court
4) The King was the main bad guy. Don't think either he or Perrington were supposed to be possessed, they just didn't give a damn about people and craved power, which the Valg were all to willing to exploit to get back into the world
-King and Perrington have a conversation at the end of ToG where 1) we get to see what the King is thinking and it's all normal and rational and 2) King is clearly in charge between the two of them, even behind closed doors. Makes no sense if Erawan has possessed Perrington and the King is possessed by a lesser Valg.
5)The series was to be shorter (maybe 4-5 books)
-Book 3 she has to leave to learn how to use Magic since she can't do that in Rifthold
-Book 4 she comes back and she and Choal have to figure their shit out while hitting some intermediary goal (Either revenge on Arobyn or freeing magic so that Rowan can show back up in Book 5 and be more useful)
-Book 5 is the big standoff with the king, shattering of the glass castle, big ending
Because of the change, they give Rowan all of Choal's good qualities in QoS and make Choal a completely unlikeable douche for most of the book. I've seen several posts about how people hate Choal but love Rowan, even though the characters have a lot of overlap, and I think this is why--the parts of Rowan you like were supposed to be Choal.
Super tenuous, but I also feel like SJM was going to do something where Choal was Aelin's soulmate, but she'd wind up having to marry Dorian. Which would have been COOL, but not popular.
-It felt like they were going for Aelin = Elena reborn and Dorian = Gavin reborn (he's got those sapphire eyes which in ToG they say "no one knows where they came from" and then in CoM they show that they're the same eyes Gavin had)
-They're prince and princess of neighboring kingdoms

I've seen several posts about how people hate Choal but love Rowan, even though the characters have a lot of overlap, and I think this is why--the parts of Rowan you like were supposed to be Choal.
-It felt like they were going for Aelin = Elena reborn and Dorian = Gavin reborn (he's got those sapphire eyes which in ToG they say "no one knows where they came from" and then in CoM they show that they're the same eyes Gavin had)
-They're prince and princess of neighboring kingdoms
- Aelin laughs at Dorian for saying he wouldn't want to marry for love (forget if that's ToG or CoM)

Setting is Spelljammer-inspired; the Astral Sea is literally outer space and people travel it in magic ships. I’ve introduced several major and minor factions & cultures - one which came up in the last campaign (as a minor party in a trade conference) was what I’ve named the “Kingdom of Adamaunt”; a small crystalline planet whose inhabitants are aware of of interstellar travel.
Physically, these inhabitants are Gemfolk - Adamaunt is strongly inspired by Steven Universe, but also draws from the animes that inspired it, Brightmoon from the She-Ra reboot, and both original and LD versions of the Alteans from Voltron. Basically, they’re a matriarchal “anime space monarchy” where everyone lives in giant crystalline palaces and looks like Pearl StevenUniverse and dresses like they’re in a future reenactment of Rose of Versailles. They have deep and complex noble-court politics, and a Prussian-style duelling culture.

My issue is I now want to homebrew racial stats for them; every other race in this setting is playable either with official stuff or my own homebrew. But that raises an obvious question - what abilities would you want such a race to have? I could just rip off SU, I know, but I’ve already used reimagined aspects of that on other races and just in general it feels lazy.
Physically, these folk are human-sized, but with brilliantly-coloured skin and hair made either from hardened light or literal crystal (I’m undecided). I could see them being uniquely resilient, but also uniquely fragile - I want to avoid cultural stuff if possible (in line with newer official races), but since these folk are probably magically made I might be able to get away with some of it.
So yeah - based in that description, what would you expect these folk to do physically?

The idea is each Pred will be escorted by a Razor. The Tacts are going to be split, with all meltas going into the razors and the basic bolter boys being used for home objectives/actions. The devastators likewise go in the razors. The hellblasters and techmarines go in the impulsors.
Basic battle strat goes as this: Destructors and Rhinos with devs on the outermost flanks, since their weapons can reach the center easier. Annihilators and razors with melta tacts deploy closer to the center, for better flexibility to support where they are needed. Impulsors follow behind the front line, between flank groups and center groups, to drop techs to repaibuff the required tanks. They can also protect against deepstrikers or full in a hole in the front. Basic bolter boys run around and be useful with objectives, or held in reserve for longer range objectives.
How does this list and strat sound? I chose Ironstorm Spearhead as the detachment, for it's vehicle support and free rerolls, but would there a more appropriate detachment for this playstyle?

I'm planning to use 6x6 posts with notches for the beams. My plan is to use 2- 2x8 southern pine boards for the beams. Given the height constraints, I'll have to attach the joists with joist hangers rather than placing them on top of the beams. Do I have an adequate number of posts? Or do I have too many? I think I need beams on the edges of the stairwell and around the tree but I am not sure. I've got it stuck in my mind that my beams have to be on the edges of the sides that are parallel to the house wall but I'm not sure if that is necessary? What is the correct size and maximum span of the joists I can use? Hi. Male, 33. Plan to be child free. I've had a single relationship in college that came close to marriage, but fell through. Since then, I haven't had any luck with even getting close to a relationship. I'm at the point where I'm considering just making peace with it and planning for being on my own for the rest of my life. Just to see if there's anything pointing towards a potential different future, I'm hoping someone can read my chart and tell me if they see love and potential marriage down the line.

I (27F) went through a faith crisis in 2018 before "leaving". I was trying hard to cling to the faith (when the boat rocks and all) and suppress my queer identity , and then I tried to have both, and then I was outed by a member of my YSA ward and for all intents and purposes excommunicated (mainly released from my callings, basically shunned by the rest of my ward and community, and pretty sure my temple recommend was revoked but they never actually told me and I didn't go to the temple for the last year I was in). I took my name off the membership records before my bishop could schedule a meeting (shout out to QuitMormon) and left.
At the time I felt so free once I got confirmation I was removed but now I am kind of struggling with how I never really got my shelf breaking moment and really my fate was sealed for me.
Now, 6 years later, I've been struggling with the fact that I never got the chance to bring my challenges about TSCC, church history, and other shelf items forward and really address them. I never got to challenge the faith because it was pretty much stripped away from me the second they realized I wasn't fitting into the mormon mold. I watched Under the Banner of Heaven on Hulu recently and am currently reading the book. While this focuses mostly on fundamentalism, it's bringing up those old church history issues I've had -- especially polygamy which was a huge one for me -- and stirring those old feelings back up.
I've been debating picking up a copy of BOM and D+C so I can go through and really identify all those things that made me want to leave and I guess sit with them? IDK if that's the right way to put it but like actually get the experience of deconstructing that I didn't really get.
Did anyone else experience this? Like I know I am never going back to the church, but I wish I could have the chance to bring these up and at least get them out there, even though I know I would've gotten the party line back.

I went to college, got a degree in Environmental Geology and Sustainability, work in addressing food apartheid in my city, and am living with my amazing girlfriend who I plan to propose to later this year. Faith crisis aside, being pushed away from the church community was the best thing to ever happen to me.
