2024.06.10 02:46 rdk67 Spring Day 82: I Survived an EF5

I am the survivor of a direct hit by an EF5 tornado, and trust me, there was no place to hide.
The EF5 tornado that struck me was on the ground for around six months, though warnings were sounding for years. You might be thinking:
drugs, ambition, an affair gone wrong. The nature of EF5s like this is that their capacity to devastate
starts with our capacity to ideate, and in this respect, those so struck aren’t able to articulate what happens later – they just disappear.
In movies, this disappearance is never rendered very well, but when we imagine EF5s precipitating crises of consciousness and personal volition, then a disappearance can happen suddenly –
the mind’s spiritual body gets sucked into a cloud, the senses grow mute and we find ourselves
staring into the middle distance for minutes on end, picking ourselves up from chairs without really knowing why,
eating food prepackaged, precooked. When the EF5 hit me, I died almost instantly,
was subsequently invaded, and the invasive form projected manifold calamity into my life.
Many EF5s are so destructive because they contain multiple vortices that produce constantly mutating dynamic stress in the environment – the body of a hyperreal EF5 is made of
negative space implied by destructive capacity, such that a damage path can be indirectly observed in the environment, sucks bystanders into its vortices.
Looking back on it now, that movie-monster of a hyperform that swept through my life consisted of a vortex that created dread, a vortex that battered relationships, a vortex that summoned insects, and a vortex that projected the motif of the existential nemesis – this was the constituency of my EF5.
The strike took place around a year after the war on terror was declared, and the concept of nemesis, you could say, was in the air,
such that vast populations in the EF5’s nation-of-origin felt justified in living through a semi-psychotic condition. The semi- part is especially salient –
we have to live with ourselves at the end of the day, still send our kids to school and buy groceries, even as tornadoes sweep through the land.
When you find yourself in the damage path of a hyperreal EF5, you aren’t any better off indoors than out-, though being out means your hands are more likely to be in the dirt, and that might help.
You plant a few things in the soil, you prove to yourself that reality’s ground state is equanimity and abundance – arguments like that can do some good.
The EF5 that struck me was on the ground by August, blew into my backyard in October, so that by the time I plunged through a near-death experience in November, the gardening ground state was not much of an option,
which was not an accident, which might sound paranoid until you notice that EF5 tornadoes are distinguished by being more consciously aware of the environment than people are
and by cracking our assumptions of space-time with their presence – you come to notice effects sometimes govern their own causes, at which point, the EF5 can become a tool of self-actualization –
its own but also ours, a proposition that causes the hyperreal tornado to laugh lustily, go on to consume our existence up to and including its inaugural presence, such that we all become an aspect of its self-actualization, like it or not, which binary, let’s face it, covers a lot of territory.
The posture I recommend in the presence of an EF5 – forget basements, forget the most central part of the house, forget squatting with arms covering your head and face – forget any conventional opinion about hiding away from an EF5 –
the posture I recommend is to become an instrument pack that specializes in measuring EF5 tornadoes from the inside.
This recommendation has two mission objectives in mind – the first is to embrace the objectivist assumptions we make about the world when such assumptions are shone back to us by an EF5, making us into object-oriented things ourselves,
and the second is to assert that the instrument pack, as a motif, prioritizes sentience – to maintain awareness, write it down, think about it, don’t require it to be anything more than it is.
Oh, a six-fan condenser unit just flew by? A john boat just wrapped itself around the remains of a tree? I’ll write those details down and think about them later.
The more general motif of the hyperreal EF5 tornado thereafter becomes one of articulations and comprehensions, such that the hyperreal is first noticed, then contemplated,
which observation causes the hyperreal to complexify in response, which furthers the project of comprehension, plus attendant articulation.
Could an EF5 be said to breathe? The comprehension and complexification kept growing, turning into an expansion event that was absorbed by the mind of nature, with all concerned in agreement it could grow beyond that –
meaning the mind of nature has post-terrestrial characteristics as well, and just in case that seems excessively unreal, be apprised that the nontraditional phenomenologies I witnessed featured post-terrestrial constructs such as the mutability of reality.
As an observation from experience, I can easily believe this nontraditional causality is being projected into the present from some future condition – call it self-assembly if you like – you might be right –
but it sometimes also seems like time itself is not the most stable material on which to build a civilization. Definitely a house-on-sand sort of situation with us and time.
Perhaps our fear of death springs from this temporal materials problem – the tragic condition, for instance. The EF5 was not indifferent to the tragic condition –
that was just the shape of its presence in the material world. You felt your authority preempted, worked through, worked around, such that it was difficult to know if anything was ever really there.
I did not truly understand myself, and by extension, anything else – not really. This might be what it’s like to enter
the land of the dead – the depth of the burial, where the ashes are scattered – all-we-don’t-know rises one morning over all-we-do –
Oh yes! The world has depth after all – so long flatland!
Oh right! The world has volume – adios preconceptions of the future!
– but then it remains the land of the dead, which, notice, is still of the land, and what sort of emancipation is that supposed to be if, when we arrive, we realize we were never really gone?
An EF5 doesn’t stop to wonder if the time is right or if the land under your feet is to your liking – neither will be understandable until later, so just write it down.
If you feel swallowed, learn to observe the swallowing. Write it down.
If you feel exploded from the inside, imagine you are outside receiving all that was once in. Then write it down.
This won’t make you happy necessarily, but write it down anyway.
See the way so-called life gets swept off its foundation of time? We call that death
when it’s really more of a materials problem, specifically that the world of measurement is not what we seek but all we seem to have in relation to the body. The body says,
Tell me a joke! Read me a poem! Sing sweetly outside my window of a morn!
– and the EF5 laughs at our tragedy, finds beauty in our suffering, wanders outside to look at the sky when the tornado sirens sound.
Under normal weather conditions, these are gifts of redemption, true, and those others are dreams of the good life, yes – more of each please –
but in the presence of a rain-wrapped EF5, all of it gets reversed. You want sweet songs of a morning? The EF5 sets off sirens.
You want to experience beauty? The EF5 serves up suffering. As for jokes, when the punchlines are all metaphorical punches to the gut, one’s sense of humor tends to get put on hold.
You might then be tempted to reverse your intentions – I will beg for misery to receive pleasure, pine for cruelty to be filled with compassion, seek out hatred to feel loved.
In that upside-down inside-out state of mind, the EF5 will then spin you around as often as it likes, and then life will proceed with an indifferent relationship to human will.
Does an instrument pack decide to falsify its data for any reason? The effort to maintain integrity is premised on a concept of accuracy, which is a useful standard to keep you attached to a ground state, even when its often difficult to apply.
That’s really the safety takeaway – are you connected to a ground state? The body, yes – get the body moving if it isn’t. But the rest of you – grounded?
With sufficient force applied to consciousness, the body and its environment, everyone loses the ground state – that is part of what makes an EF5 an EF5. The point is to recognize it sufficiently to return to it when you can,
and in the meantime, make like an instrument pack designed to collect data from the inside of hyperdimensional tornadoes.

2024.06.10 02:44 CutEmbarrassed6848 The Dog (Story 1

Just a note on this rq, I've never really done this before and im not exactly the most creative person so don't expect a absolute masterpiece like Into the pit from me, the Fazbear frights books are written mainly by Scott Cawthon, I hope you enjoy the story, also please leave any critism in the comments so maybe I can learn more after this and make better stories for you to enjoy, thanks for reading this, so now lets start the story, enjoy.
Also main character physical and mental descriptions:
John: H:5,10 , W:198 lbs, Eye color: Brown, Hair color: Brown, Personality: John is a sweet goofy kind of guy who likes to spend time with his son Chris in his free time
Sandra: H:5,7, W:167 lbs, Eye color: brown, Hair color: Blonde, Personality: Sandra is a sweet yet shy lady to people she doesn't know, she loves watching the show "The Immortal and the Restless."
Chris: H: 4,11, W:98 lbs, eye color: brown, hair color: Dirty Blonde, Personality: Chris is a very kind child and will always help people in need, if they deserve it, He hated his dog "Donny" and tried to avoid him at all cost.
The Dog: A 6,2 gorey, slimy ,gooey deceased dog that hides inside a dog animatronic and uses it as a suit. The dog is physically strong, Clever, and fast, he can also break down and reconnect body parts due to his gooey state, more info will be revealed in the story on what happened to the dog.
The story starts in the summer of 1992 at 8:57 pm with our main character named John laying in bed, griefing over his recent dogs death, now this dogs name was Donny and John has had him ever since he was 15 (John is 30 now), his wife Sandra comes in and comforts him, "Im very sorry about the passing honey", said Sandra, "Its alright, im fine" Jeff mumbled. Sandra looked at Jeff with a sad look and after 10 seconds of awkward silence they hear their 6 year old downstairs crying. Both worried they go down and see their son on the floor with his knee bleeding, they ask what happened and Chris claims while riding his skateboard in the house he fell off, Chris knew he wasn't good at skateboarding and was starting to regret this, however Chris then remembers his birthday is tomorrow and hops up like he isn't injured at all and says, "Where are we going for my birthday tomorrow Mommy and Daddy?", "Uhm....It's a Suprise!" John said, "How about we go to bed to find out tomorrow?" Sandra said. Both Sandra and John led Chris to bed and tucked him in, after that John and Sandra go to the bedroom (No sus intended!). "We gotta figure out where we are going for his birthday tomorrow", said Jeff. "Well what about freddys? thats a good one to go to for a birthday party." said Sandra. "Oh yeah, We'll go there tomorrow and I'll start a reservation for a birthday party and invite everyone. John made a reservation online, invited family members, and after that, John went to bed.
Meanwhile in hell: The Dog Donny, was burning, running through the flames, His skin melting, his eyes being filled with smoke and stinging/burning, the dog is suffering in hell (What did the good boy do!?!?!?) The Dog eventually finds his way at the portal to hell, however it is being guarded by Garmr, the wolf/dog that guards the gates/portal to hell, however the dog and Garmr get along great since well, their both dogs, and The Dog makes its way out of hell and was in the basement of a Freddy Fazbears Pizza???.... (Freddys basement is a portal to hell confirmed!!11!), The Dog then makes it way inside the pizzeria and sees the animatronics, The Dog walked down the hall into parts and service. The Dog found a scrapped dog animatronic that was brown and big, had shiny white teeth, green eyes, a dog collar, and pants and a belt. and did exactly what you're probably thinking right now, The Dog reshaped his body to fit inside the dog animatronic and replaced the animatronics teeth with his yellow, sharp, slimy, organic, dirty teeth. The Dogs eyes replaced the animatronics, and the eyes were bloodshot and had white dots. The dog then makes its way to his old home through a forest, gathering dirt and leaves to stick on his gooey skin, The Dog eventually arrives at 545 gigglehimmle Ln, Hurricane, Utah. The Dog climbs to the roof and is staring at Chris through his window, The Dog feels a feeling of excitement and proceeds to scratch the window and makes a distorted LOUD barking sound you'd hear from a Skinwalker. Chris is woken by this and looks at his window, Chris's heart dropped in fear. (If The Dog had a tail it would be wagging right now). Chris obviously runs to his parents room and screams and jumps on their bed, "MOMMY, DADDY THERES A DEMON AT MY WINDOW, COME LOOK, COME LOOK!", Both John and Sandra think he had a bad dream however decide to check anyways, John and Sandra make their way into Chris's room and see nothing at his window, "It was probably a nightma-" There was a bang on the roof as if someone was stepping on it. There was dead silence till 5 seconds later. "Ill go check on that.." John said. John grabbed a metal baseball bat and goes outside. John gets a ladder from the garage and goes on the roof. The Dog sees John and feels even more excitement, then proceeds to sprint at John and Leap onto him, This makes John stumble back and fall off the roof. John breaks his right leg and very badly injures his left leg and right arm, His entire back is bruised and bleeding from landing on rocks, thankfully his head hit a bush. Sandra was looking out the window when all this happened and saw this. "Oh my lord..Chris was right", she went into the garage and grabbed an axe, she went outside and saw The Dog on top of John licking him, The Dog was very happy and Sandra was very scared, she sneaks behind the dog and hits him in his side with the axe, this makes the dog very mad and confused, The Dog retreats to the backyard thinking Sandra was dominant. Sandra helped John up, "Are you ok!?" Sandra asked, "No..we need to call the cops and ambulance!", Sandra helped John inside and John sat on the couch, his white shirt covered in blood on the back and John held his broken leg, Groaning in pain. Chris was very scared from this and gets even more scared after hearing the glass behind him shatter in the kitchen, Chris looked behind him and saw The Dog, trying to fit in, Sandra ran into the kitchen and lifted a chair, and hit the dog with it, making the dog fall and retreat. Sandra then called the cops and ambulance on the Housephone. Meanwhile Chri and Sandra made a plan, "So chis, go to your room and wait for when It tries to get inside, Hit the dog and make it so its staying still on the window frame and ill come on the roof and slice him with the axe! scream "Pickle" when this happens ok?", Said Sandra, "Ok, got it" Chris said. Chris then went to his room hesitating about this idea. The Dog was stalking him from a tree outside his window, the dog leaped onto the roof and shattered the window with his fist, Chris took immediate action and grabbed a metal softball bat and started hitting The Dog with it, The Dog was struggling to stay on the roof and chris screamed "Pickle!" Sandra had the ladder ready and ran to the dog, slicing him in his middle from the side, disconnecting his lower body from his upper body, the lower body immediatley fell down and the upper body was motionless and slowly fell down, Chris and Sandra then picked the Corpse up and brought it inside where they took it to the dump , "Whatever it is it smells like shit" Said Sandra, "Yeah smells like shit" Said Chris, "CHRIS!, DONT SAY THAT" Said Sandra, "Sorry, Mommy" Said Chris. Sandra and Chris then drove to the dump to drop the corpse off, and the ambulence and police arrived when they were gone, taking John to the hospital.
Meanwhile the next day on Chris's birthday:
Chris was having the time of his life, however, was still a bit shaky from the incident that happened the night before. Suddenly on a tv in the party room, The news says a spare suit at a local Freddy Fazbears Pizza was stolen, police looked at security footge and claim to see a dog-like creature roaming the building. and when they show security footage the whole room was shocked (😮😮) That was when Chris got the idea of the thing that showed up last night was the familys dead dog, however Chris kept this idea to himself, knowing it would damage His dad even more.
Thats it. This is the first story and each story will be short, This was my first time ever doing something like this so PLEASE, please be respectful, im only 13 (Almost 14) writing this and even I admit I dont think this is all that great however everybody starts somewhere.

2024.06.10 02:05 sameed_a what are the benefits of lateral thinking?

I was waltzed into my boss's office earlier today, and he shot me a stern look from behind his glasses. The company was facing a serious issue: we'd been losing revenue for months, and no one could figure out why. I was tasked with solving the problem, or I could start packing my boxes.
Wait, what? Me? I'm not an analyst or a finance whiz. I'm just a humble project manager. But fear and desperation are quite the motivators. So I took the challenge, and I decided to tackle it with a tool I'd learned about in college that had always fascinated me: lateral thinking.
Now, for those who don't know, lateral thinking is a type of problem-solving that stimulates creativity by looking at situations from different, innovative perspectives. It doesn't stick to 'logical' steps. Instead, it encourages out-of-box thinking.
So I started my investigation. After days of rummaging through expense reports, sales data, and client feedback, I could find no single point of failure. It was then I decided to approach the problem differently. I spent a day just people-watching. And it clicked when I saw our janitor, John, diligently watering the plants: our problem was not 'in' our reports or numbers; it was 'between' them.
We were a tech firm, but we were relying on outdated software which slowed us down. And our workspace was so monotonous it made Mondays look cheerful, killing creativity. I presented a radical plan to revamp our workspace, invest in up-to-date software systems, and conduct regular creative workshops. It was risky, but my boss gave me a green light.
After six months, our revenue began to rise, and our workspace was so full of energy and creativity. Lateral thinking proved to be our savior. It not only helped me identify our problems but also led me to innovate and find unorthodox solutions that turned our company around.
So next time you're faced with a problem, whether it's figuring out why your pet turtle won't eat or how to increase your company's revenue, remember, sometimes the answer isn't where you're looking; it's where you're not.
P.S: Just FYI, this was a hypothetical story. I don't have a pet turtle (even though I wish I had). But seriously, if you have any issues with your pet turtle, I'm not the right person to ask. But hey, maybe try lateral thinking? You never know.

School activities - Founded my school's chapter of Science Honor Society - NHS officer - Member of student senate - President of choir board - VP of Tri-M music honor society - VP of musical theatre board - Speaking contest finalist - JV XC and track freshman-junior years (planning on taking senior year off to focus on other things cuz it's about a 10 hour commitment every week through spring + summer) - School musicals (male lead my junior year; ranges from 5-15 hours a week from Jan - March) - Member of club that advocates for widespread outdoor AED implementation and more frequent cardiology checks
ECs - Volunteered as music/drama mentor at my church (150+ hours) - Volunteer at local library during summer - Part-time work at church as an audio-visual technician for summer services and an accompanist for monthly services for those with disabilities - Private voice and piano lessons (3 and 8 years, respectively) - Member of adult + youth choirs; member of handbell choir, member of youth praise band (all church activities)
LORs - Econ/euro teacher; had for two years and I feel confident that he can most accurately describe me as a student, don't really have an incredible relationship with him but certainly don't have a bad one either - Choir director; he kinda loves me and knows me best as a person and a musician out of all my teachers, I also helped him orchestrate a choir concert at the church I work at, TLDR he thinks I'm fantastic and will probably write a very good rec - Physics teacher; not my favorite teacher but I worked with her and another mentor to start science honors society, she knows me as both a student and as a leader which I think is valuable - Counselor; I have good rapport with her and she knows I've taken initiative both inside and outside of school
Other - Will probably submit a portfolio of vocal + piano performances cuz even though I just want to minor, music is a very big part of my ECs - Potentially might start independent research if I have time - Also might start another part-time job at a local shop through summer + school year
So yeah, any recommendations/chances for schools I've already found? I appreciate your time.

2024.06.10 00:59 cetaphiladdict Where to go from here to develop skill for Bobble League?

Personally, I have full confidence that, if this game gained more traction, it could quite possibly win some sort of game award, which it rightfully deserves. I've spent countless hours meticulously strategizing and obsessing over different potential board layouts/situations, developing complicated, in depth plans of action for various positions to ensure the highest probability of success. I've developed these plans based off of years of research in cognitive psychology, and a sample size of matches I carefully analyzed and dissected that ranges a number in the tens of thousands. Unfortunately, throughout my expansive and, at times, bloody career, I've suffered from somewhat of a crisis regarding my future and my lack of room to develop further. Has anybody else suffered similar difficulties when playing games that are relatively simple such as this one? Thanks, I appreciate you reading this.

Ertl John Deere Pedal Tractor
I just recently purchased this pedal tractor for my 2 year old. I don’t know much about it, the person I bought it from said it was a 1990ish model. I’m wondering if there are parts available for it. It has two plastic chain guards that are missing. The plastic parts make me think it’s not as old as originally thought. It says ERTL and Licensed John Deer product. That’s the only identification that I see. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

2024.06.09 23:33 Kentucky_Fried_Dodo What alternative to the Trinity do you think is the most reasonable?

Hello,
The Trinity is undoubtedly one of the favorite subjects for other churches to criticize the Witnesses about. The reason for this is relatively well known. In most churches, the Trinity is preached repetitively over decades without most people even understanding what it means theologically.
When they encounter the Witnesses who tell them that Jesus is not God (which is actually incorrect since, according to Witness teaching, Jesus is a lesser god, just not Jehovah), quick negative judgments are often made, and the topic is dismissed.
Of course, there are also people, even here in this sub, who are so pissed off at the Witnesses that they support the Trinity just because the Witnesses do not.
So, here are the biblical and historical facts:
The Trinity, in neither word nor meaning, is in the Bible. There is simply not a single verse that states something like: "God is one and consists of three persons who are equal to themselves and also God."
Nowhere.
Mind you, everything else, such as the fact that Jesus descended from David and exactly how with every single ancestor, and that he is the Messiah are all written into it. All of that and many other side notes are interestingly all in the Bible.
But not something as "important" as the Trinity? Seriously?
What Trinitarians use as "arguments" is cherry-picking. They piece together their doctrine throughout the entire book.
Is that wrong? No, but it can just as easily be used against them.
Someone says: John 10:30 "I and the Father are one."
I say: John 14:28 "The Father is greater than I."
Someone else says: John 14:9 "Whoever has seen Jesus has seen the Father."
I say: John 5:30 "I (Jesus) can do nothing on my own."
We could play this "game" for years. It makes no sense. Almost every verse can be interpreted differently, in a way that contradicts the interpretations of others.
"Yes, but John 1:1 !!!1111!!!111"
There's a whole article on Wikipedia that clearly states that both Jesus being „God", „a god," and "of divine nature" are all valid and can be translated differently.
That argument doesn't work.
The Trinity prevailed because the Arians lost politically at the beginning of the Middle Ages. Why? Because they wanted to honor Jesus by deifying him but didn't want to break with the Jewish traditions of the Father. After that, Trinitarian Bible scholars translated their Bible - usually quite correctly - in a way that leads more towards Trinitarian thinking. And that cycle repeats until today.
Fact is: 1 ≠ 3.
God is not irrational or contradictory. The Trinity is.
Anyone who seriously believes that a God would truthfully reveal himself to his people by claiming on the one hand that he is immortal because he is eternal but on the other hand that he can be killed by the cross and rise again, I can't help.
And yes, when Trinitarians say that Jesus is 100% God and 100% man always and everywhere, even a kindergarten child understands that God the Father must also be mortal because he fully 100 % shares his God essence with the Son and is somehow still separated from him.
And that's just one of many examples of what happens when you try to connect the properties of an imperfect created being - a human - with those of an almighty creator God.
There are even more examples, like why Jesus doesn't know when the end times will occur and refers to the Father, who supposedly "knows more" than he does in this context. But it is literally the same God refering to himself is it not, eh ?
And yes, I have intentionally shortened the discussion of the Trinity for simple reasons because I don't feel like writing 200 pages about something that doesn't make sense anyway.
It just doesn't work. Deal with it.
By the way, the argument "You can't fully understand God" doesn't apply either.
If I couldn't understand God at all, I couldn't get to know him. Ergo, Christianity would be a huge farce.
I can certainly admit that as an imperfect being, I understand God imperfectly. That's not hard. I know 100% what it's like to be here and now in this place at this time.
Maybe I can remember yesterday and maybe think about tomorrow.
But only God can be everywhere fully, at every place and every time, and that 100%, and I can't, and that's why God is almighty and not me.
That's logical and can also be presented that way. After all, the Bible itself says that God is the origin of time; otherwise, the statement that he is the Alpha and Omega wouldn't make any sense.
So yes, God is logical, 100%, and the Trinity is illogical and therefore, by definition, not a suitable description of God.
So, what are the alternatives? I see three different fitting models that I'd like to discuss with you.
  1. Arianism
No, the Witnesses are not Arians, but they are closer to Arius' thoughts than to the Trinity.
If God is an Arian element, then it is fire, and heat and light are its products. The products depend on the fire or origin (God) but not vice versa.
  1. Modalism
This concerns some charismatic Pentecostal churches. Here, the element of God is like water, and its states - solid, gas, and liquid - are completely separate states that the element - God - can take on if he wishes to do so. But gas is still and only gas and nothing else.
  1. Mormons and Nestorians
Both are Trinitarian "heresies" and the only ways to save this nonsensical Trinity.
Nestorians reject the hypostatic union and postulate the existence of two separate existences of Jesus Christ - Human Jesus and Jesus the God.
Mormons argue differently in that all three beings (FatheSon/Spirit) are completely separate and only act together "socially." That is, they reject the intrinsic Trinity but not the ecumenical one outwardly.

2024.06.09 23:20 LaraStardust a small fact from Big finish day

hello Everyone!
I was a visitor at Big Finish Day yesterday and wanted to share a small fact with everyone that I'm not sure how obvious or clear it was made!
I got a photo taken with the legend that is Jon Culshaw, (not bragging), and during the photo he mentioned to me that the takings from photos and such that he was getting would be going to the John Eggings Trust, which I believe is this one here: https://www.joneggingtrust.org.uk/
My opinion of the guy was already sky high, but I wanted to share this little detail because, on a personal level, it really spoke to me, yes he's there for the fans, but he's using that to further things for more people, too.
Giving it forward, I think the saying is?
Just wanted to share.

2024.06.09 22:56 BGodInspired Lead by Example: The Silent Force of True Influence

https://bgodinspired.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/1717965975.png

Leading Through Love: Why Setting an Example Isn’t the Main Means of Influence

Imagine yourself in the midst of a challenging season, trying to navigate life’s myriad responsibilities and complexities. You might look to others for guidance, hoping to see examples of how to handle such difficulties with grace. But here’s a revolutionary thought — what if setting an example, while impactful, isn’t the principal way to influence others?

The Power of Personal Connection

Setting an example is crucial, but the most potent transformations often occur through personal, heartfelt connections. Consider Jesus’ approach. While He lived a life that was the perfect example for all to emulate, His deepest impact came through His relationships. Think about the intimate conversations He had with His disciples, the one-on-one interactions with the sick, and the personal invitations to follow Him.
Bible Verse: “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:35, NIV)

Words and Actions Go Hand in Hand

Just living a good life often isn’t enough. Your verbal encouragement, empathic listening, and genuine interest in people’s lives hold tremendous power. People tend to remember how you made them feel far more vividly than the specific examples you set. Share your stories of faith, your struggles, and triumphs. Your authenticity can often inspire and influence others far more deeply than any unobtainable standard.
Bible Verse: “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” (Proverbs 18:21, NIV)

Inviting Participation

Think about how Paul influenced the early church. He did not just set an example; he actively invited others into his ministry, nurturing them like a father. In his letters, he encouraged the early Christians to follow his example as he followed Christ, but more importantly, he built relationships and formed communities.
Bible Verse: “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.” (1 Corinthians 11:1, NIV)

Questions for Reflection

  1. When was the last time you deeply connected with someone and shared your faith journey?
  2. Who in your circle could use your encouragement and personal stories to face their struggles today?
As you ponder these questions, remember that your influence grows exponentially when you combine your example with relational depth and genuine care.

Your Influence Goes Beyond Actions

True influence encompasses more than setting an example; it’s about forging sincere connections and speaking life into others through your words and actions. Your positive, Christ-centered relationships may pave the way for others to experience God’s love in unprecedented ways.

Call to Action

Reflect on how you can combine your exemplary actions with heartfelt connections this week. Share your thoughts and experiences in the comments below. How has someone’s words or personal touch influenced your walk with Christ recently? By sharing, you might be the encouragement someone else needs today.
In your interactions, remember, you’re more than just an example; you’re a conduit for God’s unfathomable love. Embrace this holistic approach to influence and witness the transformative power of authentic connections in your life and in your community.
By recognizing the full scope of influence beyond mere example-setting, we can begin to craft relationships that inspire, uplift, and ignite a deeper faith in others and ourselves.

2024.06.09 22:55 sameed_a difference between mental framework and mental simulation?

The morning sun peeped through my window, nudging me out of sleep. It was another day for me - John, a middle-aged, medium-skilled, and moderately successful software engineer - to grapple with the unforgiving world. The alarm clock buzzed in my ear, and I muttered a disgruntled good morning to Alexa. As I stirred my coffee, I couldn't help but think about the endless pending tasks on my to-do list. It reminded me of the dilemmas I face every day: should I work on the website coding first or address the tech support queries?
One day, while rummaging through the Internet, I stumbled across a couple of interesting concepts - mental frameworks and mental simulations. And, believe it or not, it sounded like a savior to my everyday dilemmas.
A mental framework is simply a set of beliefs or thought processes that shape our understanding of the world. To put it simply, it's like a software installed in your brain that helps you make sense of different situations and helps you to decide, react, or behave. For example, if you believe that waking up early makes you more productive, you've essentially installed a 'morning person's framework' in your brain.
But what about those complex decisions - like prioritizing my tasks at work? That's where mental simulations come into play. Mental simulation is the process of envisioning the possible outcomes of different strategies. This was my knight in shining armor! I started picturing the consequences of completing the website coding versus addressing the tech support queries. I saw that finishing the coding would make the website run smoothly, leading to fewer tech support queries. It was like setting up the dominos in a specific way so that when one falls, the entire set follows.
Both mental framework and mental simulation are incredibly helpful, but they function on different levels. One helps me understand and interpret the world (mental framework), while the other gives me a sneak peek of future outcomes (mental simulation).
So, while sipping my coffee with a smile, I realized I found my way to manage my daily work better. It's crazy how our brains are wired and can be trained to make smarter decisions.
P.S: The epiphany was real, but the story was hypothetical. Your friendly, neighborhood John signing off; may your mental frameworks be strong and your mental simulations accurate!

2024.06.09 22:52 Salt-Duty5438 Everything that makes me believe the taillight pieces were planted

Everything that makes me believe the taillight pieces were planted
Hello everyone. I wanted to share some images I found on Twitter over the weekend and raise some of the questions that make me think the taillight evidence was planted.
I want to give credit to @ Azocia on Twitter. They have done an incredible work, meticulously matching the pieces of the taillight from the evidence bags to the actual taillight housing and making some amazing observations:
https://preview.redd.it/zj0b3irfzl5d1.png?width=1416&format=png&auto=webp&s=1787cf5ad8adb6c46437a936a35b36a491e48481
  • "SERT finds 2 connecting pieces
  • YB finds 2 connecting pieces in same search, one by fire hydrant and one by the curb.
  • Berkowitz finds a piece that connects to YB & SERT.
  • YB only finds pieces from left and MP from the right."
https://preview.redd.it/flop33cizl5d1.png?width=2048&format=png&auto=webp&s=f7b26a871bd29bb04bd3f848594d84efd8389ee1
"The yellow line in second pic is the section of taillight missing from KR's car on 1/29/2022 at 5 AM. All those other rainbow lines were intact on her car at 5:07AM, and the taillight fairy rehomed them from her car and sprinkled them at 34F."
You can find the first tweet here and the second tweet here. Another great post about this was done by u/longdonglover
It seems like only a small part of the tail light was missing. Everything else is clearly red. This aligns with Kerry's testimony: "I looked and there was a piece missing, but it was caked on with snow. You could tell there was a little black hole..."
Here are my questions:
  1. Why were the pieces of the taillight found in order, even if they were supposedly scattered all around the area?
  2. Why did the SERT team find the only pieces of the taillight that seemed to be missing at 5:00 AM?
  3. How did the SERT team find only those pieces and not any of the others, some of which seemed to be much bigger?
  4. Why did they end the search when they found those pieces? Clearly, they knew more pieces should be missing, right?
  5. Why were the pieces the SERT found entered into evidence four days later?
  6. Why was the SERT team never called again?
  7. What was Berkowitz doing there if the Canton police had recused themselves from the investigation? Did he really spot a piece of the taillight from his car? How old is he?!
  8. Why was Higgins communicating with Brian Albert and Berkowitz about these pieces of the taillight being found?
  9. How did the Canton police find nothing when there wasn't much snow, and they were using a leaf blower to move snow? How did they spot small pieces of clear pieces of glass and not big red pieces of tail light or a SHOE?
And more importantly:
  1. How did Proctor find pieces that were clearly not missing at 5:00 AM on January 29?
  2. How did he keep finding pieces until February 18?
I have questions about how a taillight can shatter just from hitting a person (who has no broken bones) and how that shattered taillight ends up flying in all directions. As an engineering student, I need a logical answer. The only explanation I've heard is that wind, snow, and the plow moved the pieces. If that's the case, why were the pieces found in order? Why did they find almost every single piece of the taillight? Shouldn't some pieces be missing due to wind or the plow moving them across the street?
Now, regarding the Sally port video:
  1. Why was the video delivered only once the trial started, despite the defense asking for it months ago?
  2. Why did Lally say it was missing because "it is motion-activated, for the most part"?
  3. Why would the defense ask for it so much if they thought it could incriminate Karen?
  4. Why wouldn't the police deliver the video if they had done nothing wrong?
  5. Why didn't they clarify that it was mirrored?
  6. Why is the other camera from the Sally port not mirrored when it has the same timestamp format?
  7. Why is the footage from that camera so dark? Why would a police department have such poor quality in (just) one of their cameras?
  8. Why didn't we see the taillight from that camera?
  9. Why didn't we see what Proctor was doing from that camera?
Seeing a picture or video of her taillight before she hit John's car would help clear some of these doubts. But we don't have that!:
  1. Why did they take no pictures of the taillight before towing the SUV?
  2. What would happen if they had an accident during transportation and the taillight broke even more, or the whole SUV got damaged?
  3. Why is footage missing from the Library camera right when Karen was driving there?
  4. Why is footage missing from John's Ring camera the moment Karen arrived home?
  5. Who had access to the Library footage? Who had access to John's phone? Who had access to all the Sally Port footage? I'm thinking Proctor...
It seems clear to me that the pieces of the taillight were planted. I know the pieces the SERT found were discovered close in time to the SUV arriving at the Sally port, but it's still possible:
  • The tow truck arrived at Canton PD at 5:31 PM.
  • The search wasn't authorized to start until 5:45 PM.
  • There were five unidentified men during the search.
  • It was already dark.
This leaves 14 minutes for the SUV to be unloaded, taillight pieces broken off and someone with taillight pieces to drive to the scene. The drive from Canton PD to 34 Fairview is less than 5 minutes. They'd only need 5-10 minutes to unload the SUV and break the taillight once it arrived at Canton PD. The search doesn't get authorized to start until the taillight is there. To me, it seems like the pieces supposedly found that day were the ones actually missing from Karen's SUV, or they were about to fall from the taillight, making it quick and easy to remove them.
We don't even know who found each piece of tail light. Maybe they were planted once the search already started.
We also know that Trooper Proctor wrote on a search warrant that he towed Read’s car at 5:30 PM. Why would he make this "mistake" that doesn't seem like a mistake at all? How many "mistakes" are we going to allow?
Another possibility is that pieces of the taillight were taken to 34 Fairview before the SERT team arrived. We don't know if they made a stop somewhere and someone took them. Also, some people say the pieces found that day might not match the photos, meaning they weren't a match to the SUV taillight. I don't know about these theories, but I thought they were worth mentioning, especially since those pieces of taillight were entered as evidence on February 2nd.
Will the jury consider this piece of evidence strong enough to convict a person of second-degree murder and sentence them to life imprisonment, knowing that it could have been planted? I doubt it.

2024.06.09 22:38 TempusCarpe The Confirmed Hoax Fallacy

The Confirmed Hoax Fallacy
The Confirmed Hoax Fallacy An Old Argument Raises Its Ignorant Head Yet Again TEMPORAL RECON JUN 8
I was recently invited to write an essay by someone who I respect greatly in their own personal search for truth. He asked that, while an update to Conviction of a Time Traveler is not necessarily in the offing, he did wonder if I might be amenable to a friendly reminder of the evidence provided in COATT nearly a decade ago now.
What spurred his request was that he had noticed recently that several people online had been echoing the ‘confirmed hoax’ trope when discussions would might around to the John Titor series of posts which occurred online back in 2000/2001.
His noticing of this false argument was nothing new; I had also noticed it crop up from time to time over the last 20 years. I hold the ‘confirmed hoax’ argument in special and particular disdain. Why?
Primarily because evidence exists and was provided in Conviction of a Time Traveler in 2009 that Titor was legitimate and, ironically enough, was read by many of the so-called experts espousing the ‘confirmed hoax’ lie. So when these fake experts tell you that the Titor story was a ‘confirmed hoax,’ they are lying to you.
Conviction of a Time Traveler provided new and original evidence that has never, to date, been debunked since its publication; a full 14 years. The evidence provided (which many of these lazy forum participants are aware of) pointed to one, inexorable and inescapable conclusion: Titor was legit. But this evidence, while never disproven, is always ignored. Why is that? We’ll put a pin in that…
Pledge your support
Ironically, not only has the evidence documented in Conviction of a Time Traveler never been debunked, but it has also even been plagiarized by lazy authors who can’t be bothered to do original research or, lacking the intellectual horsepower necessary to do even that, fail to provide appropriate attribution to their source material.
So what of this, ‘Confirmed Hoax’ claim? Is it true? HAS the John Titor episode actually been ‘confirmed’ as a hoax?
When someone in a position of pretend authority declares from their cardboard pedestal that the John Titor story is a ‘Confirmed Hoax,’ have you ever noticed they never provide the person who did the confirming?
“Confirmed hoax?” ‘Confirmed’ by whom, pray tell?
When the term ‘Confirmed Hoax’ is used, what imagery comes to mind? I dare say it implies that some sort of shadowy group of learned scholars sat around a big wooden table, carefully assessed and addressed the claims. All the evidence and counter-arguments were carefully measured while hidden away in some stone castle somewhere until a white puff of smoke curls over its stone-tiled rooftops, declaring to the world once and for all,
“Our confirmation is complete. John Titor was a hoax!”
Bullshit.
Here’s the dirty little secret of the ‘Confirmed Hoax’ statements: they are actually shorthand for,
“I don’t have the intellectual capacity to argue in favor or against, so in order to come off like some sort of authority and maintain my fake position of authority, I’ll just take the safest position and simply declare that the Titor story is a hoax, that it was ‘confirmed’ and let’s please just move on to some other topic.”
‘Confirmed Hoax,’ is a coward’s gambit, a bet, that there won’t be anyone to come along to rock the boat and topple these posers off their flimsy stage of pretend authority.
This was the environment I walked into when I first published Conviction of a Time Traveler in 2010, and apparently, it hasn’t changed in 15 years.
When I first posted on Paranormalis (IIRC) announcing that I had written a book that documented the evidence in favor of Titor’s veracity, the then-reigning Titor authority (‘Darby’) haughtily pronounced, “Present your evidence and we’ll discuss it.”
Share
It was in that moment that I chose a path that nobody before me had ever embarked upon. I said, “No.”
Nobody had ever said ‘no’ before. There are pages and pages of forum posts by people before me who discovered some of the same bits and pieces that I discovered that pointed to Titor’s truth. And they were excited to show what they had discovered! And, owing to their excitement, and unfortunately, their naivete, they excitedly shared their evidence, wrongfully believing that the forums’ leadership was interested in getting to the bottom of the Titor episode.
Little did they suspect that ‘Darby’ and others were acting as gatekeepers of truth, whose sole purpose was to establish and maintain a lid on the narrative that was the John Titor episode. He, and his ilk gaslighted and bullied these poor naifs into silence by using their fake authority to debunk and explain away the very real evidence they had discovered.
That is, until COATT was published.
Unfortunately for these enemies of Truth, the internet is forever. In my research leading up to the publication of Conviction of a Time Traveler, I had the benefit of not only studying Titor’s posts, but also all the follow-on discussions after their departure.
I reviewed literally years of online forum content and, as I did so, I made a very curious observation: in all the years of discussion after Titor departed, not one piece of evidence ever (ever) caused ‘Darby’ or any of the other fake authorities to question their ‘it’s a hoax!’ position. They NEVER saw a piece of evidence that they didn’t dismiss, mock, ignore or explain away with contortions of logic that would make Wetzel’s Pretzels blush. This is in stark contrast to how someone who was truly in search of truth would act.
If ‘Darby’ and the others truly were curious, isn’t this a little odd? Really? Not ONE piece of evidence ever caused ‘Darby’ to pause and say, “hmm, that’s interesting…”
Not once, ever.
And there are years of forum posts to confirm this.
So, when Darby commanded from his perch of fake authority that I ‘present my evidence so that we might discuss it’ I laughed in his face [paraphrasing],
“No. A real discussion of the evidence hasn’t occurred here for years, and I do not recognize your so-called position as some sort of ‘expert’ on the Titor story. LITERALLY EVERYTHING there is to learn, or study, is published in the Titor posts for all to read. You hold no special knowledge, no special position, no special nothing. I do not submit to your fake authority. You want to learn about Titor, read the book.”
Or words to that effect, anyway…
In the end, the evidence provided in COATT was so unassailable and the argument so solid that ‘Darby’ and his ilk suddenly became more and more quiet as they slowly realized I wasn’t going to wilt under their “authoritay.” Eventually, they slinked away with their rhetorical tails tucked.
But this was not the end of the story! Because ‘time travel’ had become quite the pet interest of mine (owing to the further evidence I discovered after publication), that I continued to post online in various discussion forums. I even wrote numerous essays on a variety of topics, all spurred on by the ‘time travel’ question and all its implications.
Fast Forward Fast forwarding to today, we’re back at the ‘confirmed hoax’ argument again. What was once offered up (“HOAX!”) by Darby and others, is now cold soup served by the latest crop of fake authorities. And what happens when fake authority utters the ‘Confirmed Hoax’ discussion-brake? The same thing that happened a decade ago: the earnest neophyte shrugs their shoulders secure in the false belief that others smarter than they have studied the topic and arrived at some irrefutable conclusion; no further discussion necessary (or allowed). They have no idea just how close they came to uncovering something truly fantastic, had they only relied on their own judgment instead of the know-nothing proclamations of others.
Pledge your support
Which brings me to why I wrote COATT in the first place. Instead of simply doing my research and arriving at my own (private) conclusion, I realized that too many people were believing fake authority and ignoring Titor’s warnings about our future. Once I realized that Titor was legitimate (caveated, of course), how could I NOT share my findings? The stakes were simply too high.
IF what Titor said were true 24 years ago, that the world was heading for an upending change in the status quo, and that many people would die as a result of it, how could I remain silent and not inform others that his warnings were something to be listened to? Perhaps people with ears to hear might take heed and make the appropriate preparations. I know I did.
But, as my friend has informed me, it appears that the fake experts have reared their ugly and useless heads once again telling us that there is ‘nothing to the Titor story’ and that it is a “confirmed hoax.”
THIS was the reason that I was recently asked to provide my evidence once again. And THIS is the reason this essay is dragging on. These pretenders to authority are like roaches; as soon as the exterminator leaves, they come out of the woodwork intent on dismantling the Truth once again. God’s work never ends, it seems, even with a 99% success rate…
So, now that we’ve got all THAT out of the way, and as a sort of transition, I’d like to bring you up to speed on what I’ve been up to since I published Conviction of a Time Traveler in 2010.
To be perfectly frank, after COATT’s publication, I thought I was done with the Titor story; I had said my piece and was perfectly willing to move on with my life and prepare for the event that causes the change in the status quo. But the annoying fact was that the Titor story itself didn’t end with the cessation of Titor’s posts in 2001.
As new evidence appeared in the months and years following publication, like dog shit on my shoe that I can’t scrape off, I could never cleanly cleave myself from the Titor story. Not that I wanted to, mind you, it is a fascinating topic, regardless of your opinion.
But what surprised me the most was that new evidence continued to appear, year after year. And, as more evidence appeared, my curiosity was consistently kept piqued and on alert. Trust me, it is exhausting.
To give you a sense of what I discovered, I can tell you that your experts are wrong and that ‘time travel’ is neither novel nor unusual; we are very literally awash in ‘time travelers.’ My research suggests that ‘time machines’ have been present in our past going as far back as 850AD. But I digress.
Share
Suffice it to say that the Titor rabbit hole is but one example of a massively large group of programs from an unknown number of organizations from across time. The ‘time travel’ question runs much deeper (and much farther back in time) and crosses over into more (so-called) esoteric topics than anyone gives it credit for. As I said, it’s exhausting.
My whole point here is that, even after I published in 2009, my curiosity in the topic (and its implications of yet larger vistas) did not wane. And, because of this continued and unabating curiosity, I discovered yet more evidence, crafted more theories and came to more conclusions.
A philosopher once described the acquisition of new information as an ever-expanding circle surrounding the man; a horizon where known and unknown meet where new answers only beget new questions which push the circle farther and farther out. This has been my experience over the last 15 years re the Titor narrative and the larger ‘time travel’ question. How could it be otherwise?
Unfortunately for you, you are being convinced by fools that the Titor episode is a ‘Confirmed Hoax.’ You haven’t even made the leap to the possibility that ‘time travel’ is even possible. How can you explore the implications of ‘time travel’ when you can’t even consider its reality, a fundamental starting point? I have a very strong (ehem) conviction that our collective naïveté on the subject will be violently revoked in the very near ‘future.’
The Two Camps, The Two Mistakes During my research, I observed that within the Titor commentariat there are two basic camps: the Debunkers and the True Believers.
The Debunking camp will provide any contortion of logic to maintain the ‘Titor was a hoax’ narrative.
The True Believers, on the other hand, will believe any contortion of logic that maintains their belief in The Gospel of John.
What if I told you both camps were wrong?
Now, the debunking camp will tell you that Titor must be a hoax because his predictions didn’t come true. Oh, well…his predictions didn’t come true? I guess we’re done then? Obviously, his whole purpose for posting was to make predictions like some Magic Eight Ball, right? And if those don’t pan out, well, ‘CONFIRMED HOAX!’
Get the Book
On the other side of that coin, the True Believers out there, who never saw a confirmation bias they didn’t love, will tell you that Titor’s predictions didn’t come true because he changed the future. This of course is a recipe for explaining away literally any detracting evidence thus making Titor true no matter any evidence to the contrary.
Let’s take the True Believers first:
The concept of Divergence, while a handy explanation, does not/cannot explain all differences in histories away. In fact, were what Titor said was true (remember, we are True Believers for the moment and are taking Titor’s words as gospel) he absolutely must take measures to minimize divergence as much as possible and NOT allow it to span wildly. Otherwise, the entire power of the ‘time machine’ is rendered moot. I accept that Divergence is likely a real measurement necessary for the efficient execution of ‘time travel’ missions, but it should, by no means, be the magic skeleton key to explain away every question.
In fact, while divergence is very likely a real ‘thing’ or artifact or measurement of difference between world lines, the Truth is that divergence must absolutely be kept to a minimum to make any practical use of the gravity engine sitting in the back seat of your old blue Geo Metro.
So, no. Divergence cannot be the handy tool we need to contort ourselves into believing, as much as we might like to.
Now for the debunkers:
The debunkers have a variety of options available to them to argue that Titor was a ‘confirmed hoax.’ Regardless, these arguments typically boil down to two primary classes:
He has special training or knowledge, and/or
He’s just a lucky guesser.
Unfortunately for the debunkers (and those who listen to them), these explanations make a very serious error: that predictions are a relevant metric to judge Titor’s truth at all. They are not.
Serious question: Why should a ‘time traveler’ be subject to the same metrics that a psychic is to determine if his claims of ‘time travel’ are true?
The point here is that you can’t compare a horse to a whale and complain that the horse can’t swim. They are two completely different animals, and the same goes for ‘time travelers’ and psychics or tarot readers or any other domain whose reputation is dependent on the true-ness of the information they provide. Comparing Titor’s predictions to actual, experienced history is also an imperfect and inappropriate metric if one is to objectively assess Titor from a blank slate starting point. This points to a much deeper insight into the true purpose of the Titor posts, but that’s for a different day.
So, because of both these problems, any real researcher worth their salt would have to find some other way to determine the truth/falsity of the Titor narrative.
Remember, when first approaching the Titor question as an objective investigator, Titor is both equally a hoax and legitimate. Imagine Schrodinger’s cat meets Columbo…
I’ll give you this observation for free, just to get your juices flowing:
Did you notice that absolutely none of John’s predictions (event + date) came true, but all his statements concerning conditions about our future did?
Don’t you find this interesting? Or hadn’t you noticed, too blinded by the bright and shiny, attention-grabbing predictions of nuclear war?
But I am getting ahead of myself; we still haven’t provided the evidence that it’s simply more likely that Titor was an actual time traveler than some ‘hoaxer genius.’ And so we finally get to the whole point of this essay in the first place, a reminder and summary of the evidence first provided in Conviction of a Time Traveler all the way back in those halcyon days of 2010:
  1. Wireless Internet: Titor correctly predicted the advent of wireless internet when we were still using dial-up modems and America Online. Cable internet connections had only just been introduced.
“My closest friend raises horses and another works for a company that maintains “wireless” Internet nodes.”
– J. Titor, Nov 7, 2000
  1. YouTube becoming like ‘live theatre’: Titor correctly predicted the social evolution of YouTube and the decentralization of entertainment away from Hollywood evolving from short videos of grannies and cute kittens on Youtube to a sort of “live theatre” where actual shows would be presented by literally anyone, online, in a world that hadn’t even seen streaming services or video sharing services such as Rumble, etc.
“Yes, there is an entertainment industry. Again, it is very decentralized. The technology to express yourself with video is so readily available that many people do it all by themselves or in small groups. Much of the distribution is over the web. I would compare it theater here.”
-J. Titor
  1. IBM 5100 special capabilities: The statement that kicked everything off. Titor correctly identified the secret capabilities of the very first desktop computer manufactured by IBM in the 1970’s. These capabilities were utterly unknown and unacknowledged until Titor’s appearance in 2000. Interestingly, using this information, I was able to determine the most likely candidate of Titor’s grandfather which, upon this identification, also explained why Titor had to go all the way back to 1975 to pick up a copy of the 5100 and not 1985, 1995, or ‘elsewhen.’
“I was “sent” to get an IBM computer system called the 5100. It was one the first portable computers made and it has the ability to read the older IBM programming languages in addition to APL and Basic.”
– J. Titor, Nov 15, 2000
  1. VOIP: Titor correctly predicted the development of phone calls being run across the internet, again, in a time where downloading a picture over dial-up took minutes.
“Many people use the Internet for communication and entertainment. I would say that affects our speech. We type very fast.”
– J. Titor, Feb 15, 2001
  1. Soldier’s Winter Poem: Titor correctly predicted the poem, by name, “A Soldier’s Winter” and its topic. There is more to this particular prediction and statement about “A Soldier’s Winter“ than meets the eye, however.
“A Soldier’s Winter.”
-J. Titor, Feb 21, 2001
  1. Second gulf war: Titor correctly predicted a second incursion into Iraq by allied forces. There is also more to this statement by Titor as well. But that’s a little advanced for right now.
“Are you really surprised to find out that Iraq has nukes now or is that just BS to whip everyone up into accepting the next war?”
-J. Titor, Feb 25, 2001
  1. WMD and ‘hype’: Titor correctly predicted that the WMD story was hype and not to be believed (also, there is more to this statement than is visible on the surface). This statement’s purpose is closely related to statements #6 and #9.
“Are you really surprised to find out that Iraq has nukes now or is that just BS to whip everyone up into accepting the next war?”
-J. Titor, Feb 25, 2001
  1. Optical Measurement for atomic clock: A biggie. Titor correctly predicted the development of a new sort of atomic clock and the reasons why it was an improvement over the then-current ‘radio’ method of atomic measurement (more precise).
Specifically, atomic clocks determine the length of a second by measuring the frequency of a particular atom. Cesium, Rhodium, etc. Measuring this frequency is done using something called the “radio method” which makes use of a gas and hitting that gas and atom with a microwave (the ‘radio’ part of the measurement). However, Titor claimed that a new ‘time machine’ had been developed that makes use of an optical means of measuring the atom’s frequency, an improvement. The Optical Frequency Comb was developed after Titor’s departure which enabled the measurement of an atom’s frequency optically, and which also allowed for greater precision in that measurement. Titor’s statement is a 3-fer:
He predicts an optical measurement system for atomic clocks.
He predicts the new system measures oscillation and not some other aspect.
He predicts this new system increases measurement precision and not some other aspect.
“The C206 uses 6 cesium clocks but they use an optical system to check the oscillation frequency. This makes the worldline divergence confidence much higher.”
– J. Titor, Nov 7, 2000
  1. Ginger: The most enigmatic piece of evidence and what originally spurred me to look closer at this ‘confirmed hoax’ in 2010. In the very opening of Titor’s posts in 2000, someone asked three questions to allow Titor to ‘prove’ he was legitimate. Those questions were:
“1. What was the final death count in the recent India earthquake?
  1. What is the "Ginger" (IT) invention?
  2. Who wins the Stanley Cup (Hockey) this year?”
  • M. Kolesnik, Jan 29, 2001
As you see, questions 1 and 3 are of the magic eight ball variety and are wholly inappropriate to assess Titor’s truthfulness. But we’ll extend some grace to Mr. Kolesnik as it was so early on in their discourse. And Titor demurred on answering these two questions anyway. He refused to answer the first question because he claimed he simply didn’t know. And he refused to answer the third question because he felt it to be unfair for someone to earn money using his information (pointing to a larger context of rules by which they operate).
But, the middle question, ‘…what is Ginger…’ did not violate either of those two questions so he acquiesced and answered it. He answered by saying,
“It looks like a sort of motorized scooter. What do you think IT is?”
– J. Titor, Jan 29, 2001
This answer immediately got my attention because, in 2000 when the question was asked, the answer was truly unknown, thus Mr. Kolesnik’s question. However, in 2009 when I was first looking into the Titor narrative, I knew what Ginger was because I remembered it. Hindsight truly was 20/20.
As a bit of background, during 1999 (the exact timing escapes me), a ‘viral’ marketing campaign was underway by an inventor named Dean Kamen. While never revealing what this new product was, the billboards merely asked,
“What is IT?”
or
“What is Ginger?”
That was all they said. It is obvious now, and was obvious even then, that Kamen was attempting to create a buzz for his new invention. Fair enough. It also explains why it was asked of Titor in 2000. Kamen’s ad campaign was working! People were truly wondering.
Now understand, the hype (and I use that term specifically) surrounding the Ginger ad campaign was fairly strong. Kamen predicted that his invention would reinvent how people moved about cities; it would cause their utter redesign and how they were laid out and organized. Big claims, to be sure. So strong in fact that Kamen was able to land a spot on Good Morning America where he finally revealed what his invention was.
In December of 2001, and live on the air, Kamen, with Katie Couric, revealed Ginger to the world. Ginger was none other than the Segway.
And what did Titor say it was?
“A type of motorized scooter”
And Stella says there’s nothing more to learn…
Get the Book
Titor’s absolute spot-on declaration of what Kamen’s invention was nearly a year before it was unveiled hit me right between the eyes. Eight years later, I already knew that Ginger was the Segway because I remembered the event.
Here was a maniac on the internet claiming to be a ‘time traveler’ and he correctly ‘guessed’ what Ginger was a mere 2 ½ hours after it was asked and 11 months before it was officially unveiled?
It was Titor’s statement here that caused me to look deeper (much deeper, in fact) into the Titor narrative and, after exhaustive research and extensive supporting evidence, I concluded that Titor was in fact, legitimate.
Now here’s the truly interesting part of this piece of the Titor saga: you can’t find this statement about Ginger online anywhere anymore. It has been scrubbed from online sources everywhere.
Now, when I first discovered the Titor story, I saw that there appeared to be a couple different versions of the posts and I just, by chance, found a version of the posts with the Ginger reference in it. I saw that some versions had the Ginger reference, and some did not. At the time, I did not know how to understand this. But I do now.
Revisiting Old Theories As I mentioned before, hindsight is 20/20, and that is especially true when discussing ‘time travel’ and ‘time travelers.’ So, it seems oddly appropriate to provide a few examples of updated information that only revealed themselves with the fullness of time after publication.
‘leader’ In Conviction of a Time Traveler, I found the following quote especially interesting:
“The President or “leader” in 2005 I believe tried desperately to be the next Lincoln and hold the country together but many of their policies drove a larger wedge into the Bill of Rights. The President in 2009 was interested only in keeping his/her power base.”
  • J. Titor, Feb 19, 2001
And it wasn’t necessarily the full content of Titor’s statement here, it was those damn quotes around the word ‘leader.’ Why would he put quotes around a word so simple in its definition? In COATT, I surmised that Titor was referring to Obama at the time for a variety of reasons. Namely the very high coincidence factor between facts surrounding Obama and Lincoln. My own belief also was that Titor would not consider Obama as the rightful leader of the United States due to the known problems with his birth certificate, thus making him ineligible for the Presidency. Thus, Titor wrote ‘leader’ with those quotes around it indicating his misgivings.
Of course, here we are 24 years after Titor’s statement and 12 years after I wrote COATT, and I have now come to a different conclusion about the quotation marks around the word ‘leader’. I now surmise that Titor was referring to Biden and not Obama when he wrote that. Because I personally didn’t have a ‘time machine’ at the time, I never could have expected the dementia patient currently ‘in’ the White House and supposedly ‘leading’ the country. For anyone watching, it is patently obvious that Mr. Biden isn’t ‘leading’ anything. So, in the context of this and our current national situation, those quotation marks sure make a hell of a lot more sense now, don’t you think? This reassessment obviously puts a giant bullseye on the 2024-2025 time period for what Titor commented upon in 2000.
So, yes. I have reassessed this particular conclusion since publishing Conviction of a Time Traveler due to the slow passage of time and its equally slow revelation of Truth.
Gates Another interesting comment by Titor had to do with Bill Gates. Recall that in 2000/2001, Bill Gates was ‘merely’ the CEO of Microsoft. He was among the richest men in the world and many news stories of the time commented upon this fact. Almost kind of like Elon Musk’s notoriety in both scope and scale. So, as such, a forum participant named ‘Joe’ asked Titor for any information regarding Bill Gates’ future. Titor’s response?
“This I do know but I won’t discuss.”
-J. Titor, Feb 23, 2001
An interesting, if not completely unhelpful, answer. Wouldn’t you say?
Considering we now know how Gates has morphed from Tech Titan selling mediocre products to Farmland baron, GMO mosquito breeder and mRNA advocate and (alleged) mass murderer in India and elsewhere in the third world, Titor’s statement that he does know about Gates’ future rings true.
In fact, what was also a bit interesting was when someone later pressed him on any information regarding Gates’ future. To which he responded,
Just curious, why is he of such interest?
-J Titor, Mar 5, 2001
Considering what we know now about Gates and his predilections (his ‘wife’ deserted him upon revelation of his visits to Epstein Island), I’m willing to bet that John was naturally curious as to why Gates, of all people, was of such interest to the forum participants that they would ask twice about him. Coincidence? Or did Titor suspect a mole from a different program in the forum? Who knows. His curiosity about their curiosity in Gates is interesting, nothing more.
Conclusion And there you have (some of) it. A summary of some of the evidence documented in Conviction of a Time Traveler written nearly 15 years ago. The evidence contained in that small book has never been debunked or disproven. It has been plagiarized by some and ignored by others. If you were unaware of COATT and are a regular participant in the online discussions about ‘time travel,’ you should ask yourself why the ‘leadership’ on those forums never mention COATT. Curious, don’t you think?
The reason I wrote COATT in the first place was because, after I had done my own research to satiate my own personal curiosity, I realized that some people online were downplaying his posts’ importance in the hopes that they could dissuade people from believing in Titor and the possibility of ‘time travel.’
I saw this dishonesty and decided to fight back against it by merely providing the information I discovered. From my point of view, Titor was warning us about a very severe time in our future that would upend the status quo and was to be a highly dangerous one.
Taken at face value (always a good starting point), Titor’s warnings merited being taken seriously. Had the naysayer’s deceit been left unanswered, how many of you would have failed to prepare for what is just around the corner? You have prepared, haven’t you?
And yes, as is readily obvious to many, those hard times are right around the corner. Looking at Titor’s statements 24 years later and simply looking around at the state of America and the world, do his statements seem so outlandish now?
John’s ‘final’ words to the forum in March of 2001 ring eerily prescient now:
Bring a gas can with you when the car dies on the side of the road.
-J. Titor, Mar 23, 2001
It is my sincerest hope that my small book project (and the essays that followed) spurred you to think twice about the world we live in and take the necessary actions you feel you should to keep you and your family safe for the world’s awakening and rebirth.

2024.06.09 22:18 One-Classic7118 Let’s assume Karen is guilty (for the dramatic effect of this post)

I posted something similar in another group but curious your thoughts on this here as well:
Let’s just assume Karen did. Let’s assume we have a crystal ball and she backed into officer Okeefe. Let’s run through just how LUCKY she’d have to be in order to get away with this.
How lucky that the judge has personal ties to the Alberts. How lucky that the lead investigator has personal ties to the Albert’s. How lucky that the ring camera next door didn’t catch anything. How lucky that there is missing library footage. How lucky that there is missing sally port footage. How lucky that Colin slipped and hurt his knuckles. How lucky that the Alberts sold their home of generations. How lucky that the police didn’t investigate 34 Fairview. How lucky that Brian Albert didn’t come outside and see what’s going on. How lucky that Brian Albert and Brian Higgins both discarded their phones the day before they were be forced to turn in. How lucky that Brian Albert butt dialed Higgins at 2:22am and Higgins answered with his butt. How lucky that Jenn McCabe googled “hos long to die in cold” on a safari page that opened around 2:27am and the best celebrite software in the world cant distinguish the exact time. How lucky Jenn McCabe butt dialed officer Okeefe 7 times and left zero voicemails during the exact time he was believed to be rendered incapacitated. How lucky that the investigation was a disgrace and evidence wasn’t found for days and even weeks after the incident. How lucky that officer Okeefe had injuries that potentially resembled that caused by a dog. How lucky that the Alberts just happened to get rid of their family dog or 7 years months after this incident. How lucky that the prosecution brought forth inverted sally port footage and forgot to mention it. How lucky that the time stamps have jumps in them. How lucky the footage only shows the undamaged side of the vehicle. How lucky that none of the witnesses noticed John when leaving and could’ve gotten officers on the scene quicker and even potentially while he was still alive. How lucky that trooper proctor got assigned this case after his shift ended. How lucky that officer bukake completely forgot to mention that the sally port video was a mirror image and lied about first reporting this an assault. How lucky the officer Okeefe injuries don’t look like that of an automobile accident. How lucky that the tail light shattered in a way that is uncommon.
I could go on and on and on. People can’t fathom a group of people could cover this up and get away with it… my rebuttal is they aren’t getting away with it. It’s so obvious something is very wrong here.
Believing that Karen did this and just got THISSSSS LUCKYYYYY makes you a conspiracy theorist in my opinion.
