University of Calgary undergrad; now I work from home.
Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Open to any ethnicity, I’m more concerned about the contents of someone’s character rather than the color of the skin. Someone in North America, particularly in Canada. I can work from anywhere though hence being open to LDR in NA.
What I do: church, read, meditate, cold showers, daily exercise consisting of squash, badminton, calisthenics, skiing (occasionally), writing, the pursuit of wisdom, saving myself for marriage (if you know what I mean), pursuing purpose, traditional values, leading first and leading positive in finding high quality friends, changing up habits once in a while. I prefer to be a low profile person in all aspects of life wherever possible.

I’m love-driven, wholesome, loyal, trustworthy, mildly old-fashioned, hopeless romantic, kind, family-oriented – so definitely looking to have biological kids, probably not adopted. Would prefer a Christian aged 18-29 with traditional values, a good heart, kind, chastity, selfless, virtuous character that has saved themselves for marriage. The one that wants to be in one of those marriages that happily last 50 years and has the growth/beginners mindset necessary to become the person to do so. If we can respect and trust each other, then that is a solid foundation to start on. Very few people have the patience, humility, responsibility, and self-sacrifice needed to be in a marriage that goes to old age in our generation now. I hope to be the exception and find one too; hence why I’m making this post(s).
Through my experience in dating, reading, learning from others, I have some other criteria that I didn’t list here that if interested we can message about.

Season of Nesting Updates for 0.25.5

Hey everyone! It looks like you’ve been pretty busy setting up your Nests, so we wanted to share a quick update about the Season and related Nesting features, and what will be coming for it in the 0.25.5 update.
First, we have to say up front that it’s been a blast to see all the Nests you’ve been creating—honestly we’ve lost count of how many pictures we’ve posted on our team Slack channels of all the cool designs that you’ve been sharing with the community.
We’ve also been following your feedback about your experience with the Season so far, so the team wanted to share some insights about what’s coming up with the Season, your Nests, and the Nesting Challenge Board in the upcoming 0.25.5 update, and some of the long-term conversation around these for the future beyond the end of the Season.

What’s coming up for the Season in 0.25.5?

Well, here are a few improvements based on feedback you’ve shared with us.
Nests look too dark at night: We’ve adjusted the lighting to address that feedback, so your Nest should be a little bit easier to see when the stars are out.
Excessive bloom in dark areas: We got your reports about that too, and the update will have fixes to tone that down.
Items to unlock for currency in the Nesting Workshop were simultaneously featured to use in your Nest: Our apologies for that confusion! The items that are both in the Nesting Workshop lineup and featured in your Nest have been temporarily removed from the Nesting Workshop rotation until we can better clarify their availability. (We made the rotation change independent of the 0.25.5 release, so that’s already in effect. Meanwhile, the fix for making these items available in a clearer way will come at a later date, so we’ll keep you posted!)
Will the Heart rewards in the Nesting Guide’s Challenge Board remain free after the Season ends? Answer: yep! The Challenge Board isn’t limited to just the Season of Nesting, so the challenges and the rewards will remain available to complete and unlock at your own pace long after the Season is over. In 0.25.5, we’ll remove the timer that appears with the Challenge Board to make that clearer. We’ve also seen some folks ask about the Nesting Guide and what some of the story is with them. That’s a fair question, which we hope the upcoming Seasonal Quests can help answer.

Also in the Works

One thing we know: Sky kids should be cuter when they sit on furniture. The animation team has made this a reality, so once 0.25.5 comes, Sky kids will properly curl up, stretch out, and lounge on their favorite furniture.
We’re also including a feature that we’re hoping will spark inspiration for everyone—a toggle to view other Nests. It’s similar to the function that allows you to see a range of Shared Spaces when you’re at a Shared Space Shrine.
You’ll be able to “scroll” through a preview that favors your friends’ Nests while also showing Nests of other Sky children too. It’s just a preview, though, so you won’t see anyone in this view, and they won’t see anyone who might be viewing their Nest through this toggle either. It’s also not a Player Creation toggle, so it won’t include an option to send Hearts.
What you’ll see in the 0.25.5 update is the first version of this view feature. We want to use your feedback as we keep building on it, so once the next patch goes live and you get a chance to try it out, let us know what you think in the #live-feedback channel on our Discord server!

Other Nesting Ideas

The community has been really creative both with making some amazing Nests, and with sharing some great ideas and suggestions too. We wanted to touch on a few of those real quick. A couple suggestions we’ve seen is to add ways to specify how many of an item you want to get from the Nesting Workshop, and to add “save slots” so that you could have a couple different versions of your decorated Nest. We’ve also seen some players wanting to make their Nest a third option for a loading point in the game, alongside Home and Aviary Village.
First of all, we love that you’ve liked your Nest so much that you want it to be your “home base” in the game! We’ll be exploring what might be possible with these suggestions. Some of them would require developing additional tech that we don’t have right now, and there would be a lot of other design questions to answer first before we’d know if we could make Nests a loading point, so we can’t make any promises. Still, we’re looking into what might be possible!
There’s plenty of other stuff in the 0.25.5 update that won’t fit into this post (Days of Nature and Days of Color, anyone?), but we wanted to share at least a little bit of what’s coming in the second half of the Season. We can’t wait for everyone to try out the new quests and features and to hear your feedback about it. See you in the skies!

The french media is barely covering this situation so I assume the international media is probably just as silent.
Riots have erupted in Kanaky, also known as New-Caledonia, an overseas territory of France, after a change to the voting rules for Kanaky was adopted by the French parliament. This change essentially allows settlers who have arrived in the last few years to vote in referendums on self determination which dilutes the power of the indigenous Kanak people. This comes after decades of tensions over the status of this land which the French government has recognized in the Nouméa accords that it must decolonize and which is part of the UN list of places that are yet to be decolonized. These accords have not been respected and the third referendum that was promised by the accords was held during Covid and was boycotted (it had 47% turnout). The fact that no political solution has been found has been interpreted by the French as an approval of their colonial undertakings so now that the Kanak population is outnumbered, they are maneuvering to secure the land (and the huge nickel reserves). The Kanak people are marginalized by the French state. They have lower standards of living and youth unemployment is very high.
In the last few hours a state of emergency was declared by the French state. The army has been sent in to reinforce the paramilitary forces that are already intervening (CRS, GIGN) and tik tok has been banned. 3 people have already been killed (allegedly killed by french settlers in a drive-by shooting) in the past few days.
Colonialism is a form of hierarchy that still exists and that must be dismantled alongside all other forms of hierarchy in the world. I don't know whether the Kanak people will be able to tip the scales but I hope they will manage to get the self determination that everyone deserves.

2024.05.16 01:54 Room_is_0n_fire My brother and his wife are heading towards a divorce. She has "Ehlers-Danlos" and has been bedridden for 5 years. I think it's all bullshit

LONG ONE but this is 15 years in the making.
So my brother and his wife have been married for about 15 years. Ever since the beginning, I've always felt a little skeptical of her. She's a southern gal that likes to romanticize everything. Think a Facebook junky that loves posting inspiring messages that are totally over the top. "From the depths of my soul, I wish you all to find happiness in your life. I truly do. Never give up! #MiraclesAreReal #HeHasAPlan" Etc. That sort of shit.
She's a sweetheart though and doesn't have a malicious bone in her body, but she's the type of person who wishes she lived in a hallmark movie. And she LOVES attention.
Over the last 15 years, she's had one thing happen to her after another. About 10 years ago she also started "feeling chronic pain" and was more and more reclusive, opting to spend most of the time we visited them in bed. Now she wasn't ignoring us, because we always made it a point to come up and even would spend time in their room watching movies and just talking, but for the most part, she stayed in bed.
Eventually it was determined that she had something called POTS, and then later Ehlers Danlos. These were both pretty much self-diagnosed, and then "confirmed" by doctors. But since then both of these afflictions have completely taken over her life. She started using a wheelchair, her body has deteriorated, she basically has zero leg muscles, with a much larger upper body from eating terribly. She's had highly invasive procedures like spinal fusions, ports, and all sorts of other shit over the years.
Everything is a "miracle cure" on Facebook and she talks about how she's a girl boss. "Guys!! I DID SOMETHING TODAY! I walked down the stairs to get a drink without my caregiver!" is a typical post on Facebook. Of course next week when I ask my brother how she's doing, she's had setbacks and is feeling worse than she was before. It's always one step forward and three steps back.
What gets me is that these posts are OBVIOUSLY pity parties, but of course she would never ask people to cry for her and talk about how terrible things are. No. that's not what the protagonist does in a hallmark movie. They have stiff upper lips, they are courageous! They never complain and live life to the fullest, despite how terrible things are.
So she makes a post with her sitting in her wheelchair or wearing a neck brace, and will say things like "Guys, I just had the best day EVER. I sat up! Normally when I sit up I get lightheaded and pass out, but today, thanks to my 3 Physical therapists, i've been able to sit up! These are the little things people sometimes take for granted, but I just had to share :) #EDScantStopMe! #GurlBoss #NotToday".
So she gets a million likes and comments saying how "Proud they are" of her and how she's an inspiration. We're all supposed to be so thrilled and excited, but all it really is is a reminder that she's basically bedridden and should be pitied and lavished with attention. Thankfully, she hasn't tried to move into influencer status, and I honestly don't feel like she has financial incentives at heart. She simply craves the attention, the pity, and the "status" as being an inspiring role model for other people a and being the main character of her own hallmark movie.
And I fucking can't stand it. I think this is all bullshit. I'm sure she's in pain, but that's what happens when you're body deteriorates from not doing shit for 10 years. She tries to solve all her issues with pills and procedures, but doesn't do fuck all when it comes to actually working hard at rehabilitating her body.
I know EDS is a real thing, but I've also read how commonly it's faked. Certain types can be genetically tested for. Of course hers hasn't.
Throughout all of this shit, my brother has been a fucking saint. He's never complained. Luckily he owns a business that does well enough that nothing has led to financial issues, but it easily could have since nothing is covered by insurance. He's a very active and outgoing guy, so it kills me seeing him spend his entire young adult life basically being her caregiver.
In the past year however, he has reached a breaking point. He had a short-lived affair, realized life was slipping by, and immediately told her about it. She's forgiven him, and basically will say things like "you can win me back. Lets renew vows, get me another ring" (All the bullshit you would see in a movie of course). He knows deep down that he doesn't WANT to win her back, and has essentially been letting the relationship die over the past 9 months. He wants to take care of her financially, but wants out. He needs a life.
Well, this past weekend, she finally sends a text saying that they are done, and the separation is moving forward. Oh and what do you know? She has started making posts on Facebook about how she hasn't used her wheelchair in days! She can now walk a mile in a day when she couldn't walk 20 steps. Where the FUCK was this 4 years ago when you maybe could have rehabilitated and lived an actual life? Where the fuck was this when my brother was wasting away his life, not traveling, not creating memories for his girls, having memories that he had growing up as a kid going on hikes and going to the beach.
On top of all of this, they have two daughters. The older one is 12 and is having all sorts of other issues, including anorexia and self-harm. I love her, but I see this as a response to the bullshit that her mom has put her through her entire life. She has always been an attention seeking kid. She is also very sweet, but unfortunately I believe that all of these cries for help wouldn't be happening if her own mother wasn't the way she is. I know this last part makes me an asshole, and I honestly have no ill will towards the daughter. I think what she is doing to herself is very serious and I don't want to take it lightly. But she is also a very sheltered girl and it's hard not to believe that the mother isn't the root cause.
I'm so happy that my brother is finally going to be rid of this soon. Obviously he plans to take care of her financially in perpetuity, and isn't planning to have any toxic fights over money or custody. He will do what's right. The only thing now is that I'm terrified that one of her stupid "followers' is going to share what happened and he somehow becomes some viral villain that gets crucified by assholes who have no idea what the actual situation is.

2024.05.16 01:27 ThePrimeMagnus Intern Teacher on Paid Administrative Leave Concerning False Allegations, Worried that Career is Over Before It Even Began

Hi All,
First time Reddit poster inspired by stories found online to try and see if I could get a different perspective on current events going on in life right now (Sorry mods if it looks like I keep reposting, trying to figure reddit out). It's been super chaotic for the past few weeks, and I need to try and see if I could get any advice/guidance in my situation.
To give some background information to my current challenge, I (Male, Mid-20s) am a first-year Intern Special Education (Moderate-Severe) Teacher who is still getting his teaching credential. I knew the previous teacher who had the classroom beforehand as I was a paraprofessional for 2 years in the district prior, and the position was open for about a year before I applied and got the position, which was a fight in itself. I really enjoy the work, find it extremely rewarding, and despite many struggles throughout the year (University classes over an hour away, health concerns), I believe I have managed to create a successful school year for the most part. The biggest challenge is that I have 6 staff members (all female, 2 early 20s, 4 older than 40), where some of them have not been very supportive to my direction for the room.
I have a staff member (lets call her Diane, approximately 65), who I had a good relationship with before the academic year began, when we worked together for the previous year's extended school year program when I started. By the start of the next year is when things began to change. I had assigned Diane as a one-on-one aide for a student in a wheelchair as the IEP team convened on day 1 and granted this service to her. I assigned Diane to her initially since she had told me that she had an extension to her contract that went beyond the hours someone in the position typically is granted. Diane flat out refused, threatening to quit because the child had supposedly rolled over her feet on purpose in previous years (the child is very sweet in question, and I couldn't imagine them doing that). I convened with my Director of Special Education, as he is on the IEP team for the student, and we made a decision to assign the one-on-one aide to another aide of mine who really enjoys working with the student.
The year would go on with off and on incidents with students in this manner. Threats to quit, refusal to record IEP goal information, constantly on her cell phone. In my classroom, I have a side office where we have our printescanner, and has a couch. The office also has windows that can overlook the classrooms, but we have blankets hung up because I was told that students would get distracted and look through the windows at staff on breaks. I didn't think much of it, but thought it was reasonable enough not to take it down. On one day, I found Diane pulled out a pack of cigarettes from her bag in the office. Not seeing these from her before, I asked what she was doing with those, to which she waved the pack to me and stated "this is why we have blankets over the windows." Confused, I asked her if she could take them out at the present time, which she did, walking outside without me finishing my sentence. I was concerned because, even though I had never caught her smoking, her words troubled me. I went to the Vice Principle (VP) telling her what went on and how I couldn't have a conversation with Diane, and we found that (in the state of California), there's nothing that states employees can posses cigarettes on school grounds, just that they can't use them. VP asked if she wanted to talk to Diane, I declined saying that she technically didn't do anything wrong. Director came by after school and I told him as well about the incident. He told me that he would check around the District Office for any info. Fast forward to the next morning, I go to the office and VP stops me saying "What's going on with the cigarette thing??" I ask what she meant, and VP told me that she and the enacting Principal (current Principal is out due to having a baby), were going to talk to Diane about the cigarette incident. My Director must have told enacting Principal and they made a plan to address the incident with Diane. After that, Diane had been very hostile towards me: not acknowledging my instruction or having a conversation with me, taking other aides out of the classroom during instruction time when students need help, taking photographs of things I would write down, etc.
I began recording incidents in my work and personal email in February because I was inexperienced and didn't know any better (first year mistake). I would seek out help from my Director and Principal, and they each talked to her a couple of times individually, but behaviors didn't stop. In April, I finally had enough and decided to file a grievance with Human Resources. I filled out the paperwork, wrote up my deposition on the situation (how you tried addressing the behaviors, how administration addressed the situation, and the result of administration action - in short "no action" from 4 different administrators involved), and provided them with the emails to myself as a paper trail since February when things started ramping up.
Nine days later, I get a call from HR stating that they wanted to meet with me and to bring my union representative. I was thrilled because I thought it was to address my grievance I filed. I go in the next morning with my rep to the Superintendent of HR, and he slides me a paper while explaining that I am on Paid Administrative Leave concerning "allegations of inappropriate conduct," as a Child Protective Services report was filed on me. They take my badges and keys. I am floored, head racing, all the stereotypical stuff you would hear from a movie. HR wouldn't even say what the reasons were when my rep inquired at the time.
Fast forward to now, and we have been currently fighting it out, and my union secured an attorney to represent me in the matter. The attorney let me know of the allegations, and I know that they are false. Trying to pin me on some real creep stuff that I won't address here. It disgusts me to even think that that's what the allegations even are. The attorney and I had an initial hearing with HR confirming the allegations, who the student was, what I had supposedly done, etc. Since I participated in the hearing, my attorney let me know that we can now request the paperwork that was filed to CPS and know the identity of the reporting party as this is a requirement of mandated reporters in schools as the allegations were made during the school day and not before/after school. I know in my heart that this is a retaliation from Diane/other staff members who have been siding with Diane, and let HR know this feeling to investigate based on the grievance I filed before my dismissal. If somehow the reporter is someone else, than this is coercion that I think should be investigated.
My attorney/professors at university were letting me know about other things concerning my situation that I'm just worried on (keep in mind, this is California). The primary field is the argument in resignation, firing, and non-reelection. First, after taking advice from my attorney and listening to my heart, I am not resigning from my position. I know I have done nothing wrong in my position as a teacher based on the allegations that were brought up against me. My attorney had also advised me that if I had resigned, the CPS report would still be active. Sure, there's things that you would have to answer for in the future for interviews and all if you resign, but that would raise more red flags for you if you resigned since CPS would still be involved with you, and you would have to acquire a criminal defense attorney in the meantime (also, it's interesting to me that this whole event has gone on for about a month, and not one CPS or law enforcement official has ended up on my doorstep when, in reality, they have all the right to come up).
Second, is firing. The district could in all their rights terminate me for what is going on. My attorney doesn't think that this would happen as if they were to terminate me, I could file for an appeal (or legal cases for that matter) to the school board and open up a cross-examination investigation with key witnesses, character witnesses, the whole nine yards, all being lead up to a vote. This apparently is expensive to run, and seems unlikely to happen given how the school year is about to end.
Lastly, and what seems to be most likely to occur, is that the district will choose to non-reelect me. This apparently gives them an out to conducting the full investigation, it gives them an out to not open up an investigation for the grievance I filed (whose timeline expires a week after my last contract day for the year, leaving the grievance invalid), and allows the district to not give a reason to non-reelection according to my attorney. However, since nothing else has occurred to spur the non-reelection, I could file for a suit against the district on charges of retaliation and wrongful termination as some of the allegations are related to a specific physical disability concerning my health that I explained to HR and that they have a prior record of.
The last note that I have currently for the process is that if I am removed, it doesn't bode well for my credential status, which I haven't even technically earned yet. It will get flagged depending on the outcome of my dismissal, and doesn't look great to employers either. Add a defamation charge to the district?
I know that this is a lot to throw out into the sea, but I would like to see if I can get some help on this process that I am currently facing. I miss my kids and just want to just go back to my kids, but I don't know if that's even a possibility at the present time. If anyone has any helpful comments or advise to take, I would greatly appreciate it. It's disheartening to work so hard for something only to see it crumble before your eyes.
(Edit) TLDR: Brand new SPED teacher has had lots of conflict with aides in his classroom. Staff may have filed a CPS report on teacher, putting him on Paid Administrative Leave. Seeking help/understanding in what actions to take, and what to expect from other's experience.

Some of subscribers to this reddit might remember my sad story. (Originally my boyfriend was posting it to this subreddit, but now he's been banned from posting here by this sub's admins) Almost a month has passed since I (a Tanzanian national, 24 years old, girl) was denied boarding in Nairobi Airport to fly to Ecuador. KLM airport staff told me that I won't be allowed to fly because I'm a single woman without being accompanied with father or husband. Once I took out the phone and started recording, they changed the reason to "can't connect in AMS without Schengen" (absurd). Three weeks later, after I had to buy a ticket and successfully flew to the same destination, we decided to check the status of the compensation claim (airport staff on that day promised me full compensation, LOL). I really want to rant how terrible the claim communication is with KLM, but I won't. Long story short, the claim was displayed as "closed" and after contacting their weird support in Facebook, they sent me in FB messenger a quote from the claim response (which I never saw on their website or in my email box and they won't ever send me): As per your communication I note that you and your co-passenger were not able to check-in on flight KL 566. Having checked our records, you were refused to board because you did not comply with Article 9 (Passenger referred back due to suspicion) of the General Conditions of Carriage. Therefore, you are not entitled to the compensation set by the EC Regulation 261/2004. Usama Butt. How I understand it, KLM profiled me by my gender and race and the fact that I don't have many stamps in my travel passport. They had a worry that - I dunno really - that I would run to Dutch police during my connection in Amsterdam to ask for refuge?? And having this suspicion they (quote) "referred the passenger back". They also mention a mysterious "co-passenger" which I didn't have. Never I or my boyfriend could expect that an airline can profile the passenger and just deny flying "due to suspicion" and cause the loss of ticket ($1350) and the collapse of travel plans (>$4000). Dear readers of this subreddit, before admin deletes my post, please share your opinions on how fair you think the actions of KLM and their decidion to not even compensate the ticket were. And, maybe, anyone has an idea for me on how to fight for my rights in this case? TBH I'm very furios about this airlines.

I'm looking to take my mom's side business of selling her oil paintings online, and wanted to get some feedback from other entrepreneurs.
Some background - my mom is a talented painter who has been selling her artwork locally for years through her personal Facebook and Instagram pages. She has separate accounts for her personal use and for showcasing her paintings, but all the posts/descriptions are currently in our local language. Customers can only get pricing information by directly messaging her - she does not publicly list prices for her paintings. After being contacted, she then coordinates payment and shipping the sold pieces.
While this approach has worked so far, I think we can streamline and potentially grow the business by launching an ecommerce website on a platform like Shopify. Some benefits I see are:
1) More professional online presence to showcase her artwork portfolio 2) Easier for customers to browse available paintings 3) Can expand beyond just our local market for sales 4) Translate/repost her existing social media content to English to reach wider audiences
However, I have a couple of concerns about making this transition:
1) Right now, there is a more personalized interaction when someone messages to purchase a painting. I'm worried publicly listing set prices on a website could make her art seem more commercialized and negatively impact the perceived value/exclusivity.
2) Expanding sales outside our home country could bring up some legal/regulatory hurdles around things like customs, taxes, insurance for shipping valuable items internationally etc.

I'm not really sure if I'm wrong here or not but if it's any consolation, I think he was threatening to unalive himself because I took too long to respond and he was trying to make me feel bad, maybe?
So, my fiancé and I just split up and I'm basically destroyed over it. He moved out a week ago. As soon as him and I changed our relationship status to single on Facebook, an old highschool acquaintance of mine nearly immediately messaged me. He was not on my Facebook friends list so maybe it was a coincidence but who knows. But make it known that I was not popular in school, but he was. Therefore our "friendship" was literally just us hooking up in private and him acting like I didn't exist in school (teenage shit). Anyways, I haven't spoken to this guy since I was like 17(?)ish. At first he was just messaging me the normal "hey, how are you" type of messages and we were just catching up with zero weirdness. I explained that my fiancé and I had just split up and I was really hurting over it and maybe that was my mistake because within 30 minutes he is just over the top flirting. I don't reciprocate. I told him I am very much so not in to talking about our past relations or sharing winky faces or whatever, what have you. He tones it down and keeps talking, making no fuss over it. Just apologized and moved on.
However, the next morning he starts messaging me as soon as he wakes up, I'm assuming (it was like 6am). And he starts talking about how his ex won't let him see his kid and that he had court that morning to try and get visitation rights. I had zero problem letting him vent. But then he starts sending me voice messages, because he said it was taking too long to text out and started asking if he could call me and honestly, I lost interest in the conversation. I told him I absolutely hated being on the phone under any circumstances, so no, I didn't want to speak on the phone. He starts calling me on messenger anyways. I ignore it. Then I ignore the next two messages he sends me (within a 3 minute period). At this point he's already left court, I guess. Then he sends me a voice message and I listen to it. He goes "can you just answer the fucking phone? I'm literally about to fucking kill myself and need someone to fucking talk to". I immediately block him.
Now, I just spoke to a good friend of mine about it yesterday (she knows who this guy is too but like me, hasn't spoken to him since HS). She says I'm an AH because what if he really was about to commit and I was the only one who could have prevented it and I just blocked him instead. But my biggest thing is that I owe this guy nothing and I haven't spoken to him since HS so why does he feel like he is entitled to my time, energy and conversation? Why does he think it's okay to blow up my phone after I just told him I didn't want to speak on the phone and basically demand I answer anyways? He knew I was going through a lot mentally and decided to use me as a way to escape his shit anyways. AITA?

The 2024 PEA is preliminary in nature. Current published resources for both of the Cañariaco Norte and Cañariaco Sur deposits (previously reported in News Release dated January 28, 2022) includes Inferred Mineral Resources along with a significant percentage of Measured and Indicated Resources. Inferred Mineral Resources are considered too speculative geologically to have economic considerations applied to them that would enable them to be categorized as mineral reserves and there is no certainty that the 2024 PEA will be realized. Mineral resources that are not mineral reserves have not demonstrated economic viability.
An independent technical report for the 2024 PEA,prepared in accordance with NI 43-101,will be available under the Company's SEDAR+ profile and website on or before June 7, 2024.

NPV Sensitivities
The sensitivity analysis provides a range of outcomes for the Project when the key parameters vary from their base-case values. The NPV estimate is most sensitive to changes of metal prices, resource grade, overall operating costs and capital costs as illustrated in Figure 1 and 2.
The After-tax NPV ranges from US$2,054 billion to US$4,011 billion as the applied Copper price varies from US$3.85/lb Cu to $5.00/lb Cu.

Project Description
The Cañariaco Project is situated within the Province of Ferreñafe, in the Department of Lambayeque, in northwestern Peru, approximately 700 km northwest of Lima, the capital of Peru, and approximately 102 km northeast of the city of Chiclayo. Current access from Chiclayo to the Cañariaco Project is 150 km along a paved road followed by secondary gravel roads.
The project area covers moderate elevations ranging from 2,200 to 3,600 metres ("m") above sea level. The copper deposits are situated on the eastern side of the continental divide and infrastructure will be on the top as well as both western and eastern sides of the divide. The topography varies from steep incised valleys at lower elevations to open grassy highlands at upper elevations. There is sufficient suitable land available within the concessions and close to the mining areas for the process plant, ancillary infrastructure and comingled waste rock and dry stack tailings facility.
The 2024 PEA contemplates that Cañariaco would be mined using conventional open pit mining equipment followed by crushing, SAG/ball mill grinding and flotation recovery of copper, gold and silver to a copper concentrate.
Cañariaco is estimated to have relatively low project capital and operating costs due to proximity to infrastructure and favourable natural setting with key features as follows:
  • Large scale mining and processing operation to process 120,000 tpd/43.8 million tpa with a currently planned 27 year mine life;
  • Conventional drill and blast mining, large scale electric shovels and haul trucks;
  • Conventional crushing, SAG and ball mill grinding followed by flotation recovery of copper, gold and silver to a copper concentrate;
  • Application of best practice process tailings management through comingled waste rock and filtered dry stack tailings storage;
  • Water resources available in project area exceed project requirements;
  • Low Strip Ratio life of mine of 1.33:1;
  • Power supply from existing Northern Peru power grid with connection point only 57 kms from the project; and
  • Project site located only 24 kms from existing paved highway connecting to the Pan American Highway on the west coast.
Low Capital Cost Intensity
Importantly, the Cañariaco project has low capital intensity when compared to several other global copper projects currently in the development stage. Key project attributes that reduce the capital cost include the following:
  • The mineralized material from Cañariaco Norte and Sur deposits are moderately competent with Axb of 53, and moderately soft rock with an average BWI 12.2 kWh/tonne, which enables high throughput utilizing a single comminution line consisting of one primary crusher, one large SAG mill and two ball mills whereas many projects with comparable throughput require two SAG mills and four ball mills;
  • The region receives significant annual rainfall and adequate fresh water is available at site eliminating the need for a desalination plant and pipeline from the coast;
  • Relatively close proximity to the national power grid reduces the capital intensity of power supply infrastructure;
  • Close proximity to an existing major transportation highway reduces access road construction cost and time;
  • Utilization of trucks to transport concentrate along existing highways to the loadout port eliminates the requirement for a concentrate pipeline;
  • The project site is in a sparsely populated area and there is no requirement for community relocation; and
  • Concentrate loadout through an existing port on the west coast of Peru eliminates need to construct a new loadout facility.

Sustainable and Responsible Mining
The project development concept has utilized best practice technologies and will benefit from several existing external factors which will assist in making Cañariaco a very responsible, desirable and sustainable project.
The application of filtered dry stack tailings combined with comingled waste rock storage maximizes the recycling of process water and significantly reduces freshwater requirements. In addition, this technology eliminates the need for wet tailings storage and a major tailing retainment structure and reduces associated seismic risk.
Electrical power in Northern Peru is generated predominantly by hydro which is the preferred power source from ecological and carbon emissions perspectives.
Electric powered overland belt conveyors, rather than haul trucks, will transport most of the mill feed and waste rock from the mining areas to the plant as well as the comingled waste and dry stack tailings facility thereby reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
The project is located in a sparsely populated region and at elevations above major agricultural zones.
Capital, Sustaining and Operating Costs
The initial capital, expensed over the first four years of the Project, amounts to $2.2 billion. The sustaining capital over the remainder of LOM amounts to $526 million. Closure costs are estimated at $216 million. The project financial model incorporates a lease strategy for the purchase of the initial mining equipment whereby 20% of the mining fleet cost is capitalized and the remainder is carried as operating cost. Sustaining costs include construction of a crusher at the Sur deposit and related conveyor system to connect with the primary overland conveyor in year 16 prior to the start of mining operations at Sur.

Social &Environmental
Alta Copper has been active in the Cañariaco area since 2004 and since that time has developed and established a wide range of relationships with a corporate policy of respect, shared involvement and value, mutual benefit and transparency. Communications with the local communities and public authorities at all levels continues to ensure that key stakeholders are aware of the Cañariaco project status and plans, and that the Company responds to community concerns and requests.
Mining
The 2024 PEAis based on open pit mining methods with conventional drilling,blasting and material loading with large electric shovels for excavation and haulage to the primary crusher using large capacity haul trucks. Independent and dedicated high-capacity electric conveyor systems will transport plant feed from the primary crusher to the process plant and waste to the comingled waste and dry stack tailings facility.
Over the life of the Cañariaco mine, two separate deposits: Cañariaco Norte ("Norte") and Cañariaco Sur ("Sur") will be mined in separate pits, with the bulk of the plant feed coming from Norte. Mining will commence in the Norte pit which will provide 100% of the process plant feed until year 16 at which point mining operations will commence at Sur. Years 17 through 25 will see mining taking place in both Norte and Sur with variable mining rates while maintaining total annual production of 43.8 million tonnes. From year 26 through end of mine life all mining will take place in Sur.
The Cañariaco open pit mining operations will have a mine life of 27 years, operating 365 days a year with a life of mine strip ratio of 1.33:1 (including pre-stripping). The mine production plan is based on mining a total of 2.72 billion tonnes of material, comprised of 1.176 billion tonnes of plant feed and 1.548 billion tonnes of waste rock over the life of the mine. Mining operations will supply the process plant at 120,000 tonnes per day or 43.8 million tonnes per annum. During the life of mine operation, annual cash-flow will vary due to annual and forecast variations in head grade, strip ratio and metal recoveries.
The major mining equipment fleet will include nine (9) blast hole drills, five (5) 38 m3 electric shovels, two (2) 33 m3 front end loaders and thirty-eight (38) 290 tonne capacity haul trucks. A fleet of smaller loaders and trucks will be utilized for early mine access development and initial pre-stripping. Electric shovel major maintenance and mobile equipment replacement are carried in the mining costs. The moderate altitude of the Project avoids the need for de-rating of mine haul truck drive systems.
Whittle Consulting's Mine Plan Optimization
A key part of the mining plan development for this 2024 PEA included comprehensive mine plan optimization analysis by Whittle. This analysis includes a very detailed assessment of metal grades, metal prices, metal recoveries, mining and processing costs throughout the deposit, and by applying advanced computational analysis, including by the use of Whittle's proprietary Prober-E software, develops an optimized mining plan to maximize the net economic value of the mining operation. A key aspect of this mine planning strategy is that it brings forward cash flow and optimizes the net present value of the deposit. This approach involves advanced pit phasing techniques and takes advantage of variable mining cutoff grades, plant feed stockpiling and blending strategies during the life of the mine plan.
Metallurgy and Processing
The Cañariaco project comprises two copper-gold-silver porphyry deposits where the main copper species are primarily sulphides, predominantly chalcopyrite with lesser amounts of bornite and chalcocite. The Sur deposit also contains molybdenum however the levels did not warrant recovery for this 2024 PEA. Extensive metallurgical testwork programs on samples from Norte have been completed over previous years, providing an extensive metallurgical database for Norte. Resource development at Sur is at a much earlier stage than Norte and accordingly the metallurgical testwork completed for Sur is preliminary. However, the testwork results received to date from Sur are very good and comparable to the results for Norte confirming the amenability of conventional flotation recovery for both Norte and Sur.
The key metallurgical design parameters applied for process design in the 2024 PEA are as follows:
  • Mineralized material competency/hardness: Drop Weight Test Parameter Axb 53 (75th percentile), Bond Ball Mill Work Index 12.2 kWh/tonne (75th percentile), moderately competent and moderately soft
  • Grind size P80 for flotation feed: 200 microns
  • Metallurgical recoveries (life of mine): Copper 88.2 %, Gold 63%, Silver 53%
  • Copper concentrate: 26% Copper, 3.7 g/t Gold, 74 g/t Silver.
Mine haul trucks will transport plant feed material to the crushing station where they will dump the material directly into a large gyratory crusher. From the crusher, plant feed material will be conveyed to a live stockpile ahead of the grinding circuit. Plant feed will be drawn from the stockpile and fed to a single 12.8 m diameter by 8.2 m EGL (Effective Grinding Length) SAG mill. SAG mill discharge will be screened to remove oversize pebbles which will be crushed in pebble crushers and returned to the SAG mill feed. SAG mill screen undersize product will be fed to two parallel 8.5 m diameter by 11.4 m EGL ball mills operating in closed circuit with cyclones to produce floatation feed at 80% minus 200 microns. The floatation circuit will comprise of rougher and cleaner flotation stages, with rougher concentrate regrinding prior to cleaner flotation. Cleaner concentrate will be dewatered using a thickener and pressure filters, then conveyed to the concentrate storage building to await transportation to the port for loadout and shipping to offshore smelters.
Waste and Tailings Handling
The Cañariaco process flowsheet has included Comingled Dry Stack tailing technology for waste rock and tailings placement. This technology is considered as "Best Practice" and is seeing more application within the global mining industry. The technology offers three key benefits:
  • increases process water reclaim and recycling;
  • eliminates the requirement for wet tailings containment dams and eliminates related seismic risk,
  • reduces the size of tailing containment system footprint. Dry stack tailings treatment utilizes pressure filters to dewater process tailings to low moisture content with recovered water recycled to the process. The dry tailings filter cake produced are transported by belt conveyor to the tailings management facility where they can be placed or "stacked" with waste rock as a stable pile within the tailings facility. Combining the dry tailings sands with waste rock within the same pile enhances the overall stability of the pile and eliminates the need for two separate facilities.
Qualified Persons and NI 43-101 Technical Report
The 2024 PEA summarized here for the Cañariaco project was completed by Ausenco Engineering Canada ULC, of Vancouver British Columbia, with mining aspects completed by AGP Mining Consultants Inc.
The findings of the 2024 PEA will be disclosed in a NI 43-101 Technical Report which will be completed and available on SEDAR+ and Alta Copper's website on or before June 7, 2024.

I’m reposting because for some reason my post from last night isn’t even showing up on my profile and I’m desperate to get some opinions. I’ll try to keep it as short as possible.
Only 4 weeks from dday2. More context in my Post history. Things has been going really well I thought, especially leading up to Saturday. we went out to celebrate our 16 year wedding anniversary. The day was amazing we had a lot of fun, but later that night I went to show him a picture on Facebook and he saw his AP in my search history. He gave me a face and we moved on with the night nothing terrible happened.
Things were good Sunday, he was gone at work all night and then on his day off Monday he was in a weird mood. Pretty negative and being inconsistent with what his plans for the day were. He said he didn’t think he had time to hang out with me(we don’t currently live together but I was hoping to try to move back home soon). So I made other plans that was fine. I wanted to respect his space but all the sudden a couple hours later he wanted me to go out to lunch with him. I was a little annoyed with the inconsistency of his plans and we talked about it on the way to get food but never really got anywhere. So at the restaurant I apologized for being emotional and we ended up going to his place later and spending the night cuddling and watching movies and having a great night.
Yesterday things were good still. We talked when he woke up for an hour while I was on my lunch break and things were seeming good. Then just an 1.5 hour later he sent me a whole Message saying he’s been feeling off and he’s sorry that he doesn’t want to bottles it up since we’re supposed to be honest and communicate. He said he didn’t like that I had AP on my search history and that he thinks I’m not happy and just “putting on a brave face” and that also the Monday situation had him scared we would slip back to old habits and attitudes. That he felt like the unhappy old us and that we salvaged the night but he was scared it would be that way often. Which by the way these are the things he often said concerned him while he was engaging in a false R. He would often say he was afraid that I WOULDNT CHANGE and we would go back to being unhappy, with the undertone that my attitude is the cause of his A and why he was so unhappy. So it felt a little triggering. He said That he’s trying to be happy but things are piling up on him.
I responded by saying it’s ok and I appreciate him letting me know. I want him to be able to tell me stuff. I told him it wasn’t just a brave face and that I am happy with him but I admitted I do look up AP sometimes and I still struggle with how pretty she is and how it was so hard for him to leave her. This is where I start to spiral. I told him I want to respect he needs space but he’ll tell me he loves me and wants to be with me then turn around and have this attitude toward us the very next day. It’s inconsistent. . I also told him that the whole attitude thing Monday was him too. That he was being really negative and it’s not all just me and that we’re not going to feel happy all the time and that we handled it well by not letting it ruin our night. He’s at work at this point and says he doesn’t know what to say and he’s trying to read through it at work. That it seems like I’m mad looking through my Messages. I told him I’m definitely not and he doesn’t have to respond right now. He then said he was just trying to express some feelings and he feels like he’s getting grilled because of it.
I told him I’m sorry if I was getting defensive, that to me it seemed like I ruined Saturday and now he’s struggling and wants to do his own thing and it’s all my fault. He said again he was just trying to express some feelings. I said I’m sorry I and I don’t like being this way (spiraling).
Next thing I know he says “do you think we need to take some time? I know I need to get away for a weekend and really deep dive my personal issue and I’m trying to get into therapy. Is that the fix though, actually separating and being happy by ourselves? I just don’t know”
That’s when I really lost it said sure. Do what you need to do. I can’t keep doing this back and forth and I don’t what’s driving him to go from acting to in love and adoring me to this. I can only guess.
Now he’s like “woah was just asking” and “this is what I get for talking” “I should just bottle this stuff up” etc.
He’s acting like I’m blowing this out of proportion and he can’t understand how I spiraled so hard off this exchange.
Am I being unreasonable?? I go back and forth about maybe I was too much but he’s also not being very compassionate given how much hell he’s put me through. And to say he can’t understand? I sent walls of texts explaining myself and I’m tired. I feel like maybe I did take his concerns and turn it into something crazy but I initially Tried to validate him and apologize. I don’t know I feel crazy right now. Maybe I am Oo mich.
