Dead Second Komplikasyonu

Dead Second Komplikasyonu

2024.06.10 00:09 Angrychimp03 Ally Dad looking for some assistance for his 13 y/o afab son whose body is showing more fem attributes than last year, and we need new swim gear/summer styles.

First of all, Happy Pride everyone! I was hoping to get some advice. My son (afab 13) has always been on the smaller side, but this year, the workarounds that we have been using (sports bras a few sizes too small and an undershirt to hide the straps) aren't going to work. He is showing a lot more in the top, and I think we need to progress to a more substantial compression top or binder.
He is going to be going to the traditional day camp that we have been going to for years, and this year will be his first as a CIT. He sports the long hair that he has always had (only one haircut ever), so he always gets the little kids asking him if he's a girl, but I think without some additional help he's going to feel dysphoric.
I've asked him to give me some measurements (he won't let me help with the measuring tape) for size. What brands do you recommend I try? We're looking at Tomboyx and Wivov, but it's hard to find what we're looking for in his size. He's also super athletic and loves to swim and do parkour, so we need something that's as flexible as possible. We are willing to spend what we need to for something perfect, but we can't wait too long as the summer is upon us.
Thanks in advance, and if anyone needs extra dad hugs, I've got them for you.

2024.06.09 22:26 OldMedium8246 Am I crazy for expecting my husband to put his tip money towards combined expenses

My husband does a labor job and I work an office job. I have a degree and he does not. He works on commission so his pay can vary as dramatically as $400 a week to $800 a week. I am paid hourly so my pay is consistent, with a handful of overtime hours adding maybe $100 per bimonthly paycheck.
This is his busy season so he’s making closer to $800/week. Altogether he makes around $35K gross a year. I made $45K the year before last, $35K last year due to having our child, and recently received a promotion. With my promotion, I will be making about $55K a year, but I just got the pay increase a couple of weeks ago, and had to take out a huge 401K loan to pay off credit card debt.
He also can accept tips, while of course that’s not a part of my job.
Neither of us are particularly financially responsible. We pay our bills and pay them on time, but we’ve wasted thousands over the years on takeout, we don’t have a set budget, and we’ve definitely bought things we could go without. My main issue is takeout, his main issue is impulsively buying larger price tag shit we really don’t need or won’t use, like the dresser he just bought.
Our finances are separate. I have been arguing with him about this since we got engaged. The reason being, expenses typically come out from my account or credit cards because I have significantly higher limits and better credit. We took out a $10K loan for our honeymoon (almost paid off) under my name alone, which he pays half of the monthly payment for. However he will delay paying me back for his half of things, we both lose track of money he owes me or I owe him, etc. It’s so much more trouble than it’s worth. And I feel like as a married couple with so many joint expenses, ESPECIALLY since having a child it’s better to stop viewing it as “my money and his money.”
He finally agreed to combine finances a few months ago, but of course it hasn’t happened. Every time I sit down and ask to budget, he says “can we do it later,” and gets mad when I want to set a time and day. Or “I just want to relax” (aka drink or smoke weed or both).
There have definitely been times where he’s spent money on things like diapers and formula, but I’ve almost always paid him back for half. I’d say as far as who owes who what over the course of our relationship, it’s 90/10.
Especially considering that he’s still on Medicaid due to being a foster child when he was younger, while I’ve paid thousands for employer-sponsored insurance and deductibles. I owe almost $2K to the hospital still from my son’s birth, and he just turned 1. My husband hasn’t contributed anything to my monthly payments to the hospital.
Here’s the source of our current argument. His tips vary at his job, but lately he’s been doing well. He’s a very hard worker. He had weeks recently where he makes $200+ in tip. He says that’s his money because it’s tip for his work. He spends it on weed and alcohol, or food at work. Whatever he wants.
I think he should be depositing his tip money into his account or our joint and using it to pay towards bills, groceries, and money he owes me. For example, I just paid our loan and WiFi which was about $380. So he owes about $190 for those. He also owes me at least $300 for our son’s recent birthday party. He said he can’t pay me anything until he gets paid in a couple of days as he has less than $200 in his bank account. But he has $350 in savings (I have no savings) and $70 in his wallet from tips.
If we had lots of disposable income I would see his point. But when we’re just trying to make bills and he owes me money, I feel like every dollar of earned income, tip or not, should go towards combined family expenses. Weed and alcohol are luxuries in my opinion, and he spends at LEAST $200-300 a month on those on top of his nicotine vapes. I have never given him a hard time about the weed because he’s been a heavy user for years and I didn’t really expect that to change - but I have asked him to work on reducing the large quantity and frequency he uses to help reduce costs. He gets mad when I bring it up, and it’s gotten us nowhere.
He says he’s told all of the guys he works with about my tip argument, and they say I’m ridiculous. That that’s HIS earned extra money and he should be able to spend it on whatever he wants. He also says that I “don’t get it” because I don’t earn tips. I told him that if I was earning tips, I would view it like any other income and would use it for things we need before anything else. I haven’t gotten new clothes in years, I rarely wear makeup and have been using the same makeup for 3+ years, I haven’t had a haircut in over a year, I don’t get my nails done or massages or any self-care. I don’t have ANYTHING expensive besides my engagement ring.
Am I crazy for thinking that in our current financial situation, and especially when he owes me money, tips should count as earned income???

2024.06.09 18:40 Tg11T Can you believe Jake is 17? Jake needs to be in more adult stories

The character of Jake was born on screen in 2007. Fast forward 2024. 17 years. That means Jake is practically at the age of graduation. 1 more year and Jake is 18. To think Elizabeth has yet another grown son practically. Jason's son looks just like him well except for the crazy hair. Jake either needs to grow his hair out more or he needs to cut it altogether. But Jake needs a love interest. Charlotte Cassadine. Imagine Valentin's daughter with Jason's son. Given the whole Pikeman connection. Jason wants to take down Pikeman and Valentin is Pikeman. Their kids are involved which just complicates matters even more.
Charlotte is a Cassadine. Jake biologically is a Quartermaine.
Jake needs to start thinking about his future soon. Jake being a Quartermaine, he can always work for the family business at ELQ. Jake's great grandfather Edward started that company and many more of his relatives like his uncle AJ, cousin Ned, great aunt Tracy, and aunt Skye have worked there. Jake could have shares in his family's company or have access to his Quartermaine trust fund.
Or Jake could become a doctor just like his grandparents Alan, Monica, Jeff and Carolyn...all doctors. His uncle Steven Lars also a doctor. His aunt Sarah also a doctor. Medicine is also a family business.
Or Jake could become a cop. Could you imagine? His father being a mob enforcer and his son turns out to be a cop
Or they can bring back Emma Drake, Robin & Patrick's daughter Anna's granddaughter for Jake.

2024.06.09 14:29 itusedtobebetter21 Husband refusing to turn off inappropriate movie

Hello. This morning my husband was watching Red Heat with Arnold, which is rated R. I’ve never seen this movie before, he has already watched it multiple times in his life. My 4-year-old woke up and there was a scene where a train is hitting a car, a bunch of violence like shooting, bloody faces, swearing. I asked my husband to turn it off, he said he wouldn’t, he’s going to finish the movie. My 4-year-old started to cry and asked to turn it off several times. I told my husband if he needs to finish it, go into our bedroom, he said no. More crying from my child and my husband kept insisting that he just wants it put on his cartoons or whatever. I held my ground again told him to turn it off and he finally turned the TV off. My 4-year-old kept talking about the scenes he saw and acting them out, I told my husband this, his answer was that it wasn’t that big of a deal and it isn’t going to scar him for life. To me this whole situation is a big deal because my husband was disrespectful to me and my son. He seems to not feel this way.
ETA: It was the morning and both the 4 year old and 2 year old (in his high chair) were eating breakfast in this room while I was doing dishes. We have an open floor plan where the kitchen/dining/living area are all open so he could see it from each of these rooms unfortunately.
ETA 2 9:53pm: Ok y’all, I am not going to comment back anymore. Really wasn’t expecting this much response. Probably spent more energy than I needed to replying back. Appreciate those with helpful insight. I won’t be divorcing my husband over this. This wasn’t an all day affair, it was a matter of minutes. He admitted he was in the wrong and won’t do this again. We both have the right to veto things on the screen without the needless back and forth in front of the children.

2024.06.09 05:15 teacuplemonade Travelling 4h for a haircut - red flag or not?

So I (21F) have never really been interested in dating, but there was always this son of a family friend (23M) who was talked about when I was growing up but I never actually met since he lives kind of far away. He's really good looking and kind of rich and I've always kind of thought it might be interesting to see if we get along, especially since I'm already so close to a branch of his family.
I thought I was going to meet him at a wedding last year (his dad's 2nd marriage, his mom died a long time ago) but he cancelled last minute, I finally got to meet him in a group setting this week. He seems really nice and I'm definitely attracted to him, we even went on a walk yesterday just the 2 of us and I think we hit it off! We got along well and even though we just met it was a really good conversation. He definitely implied he wanted to see more of me.
Then today I found out he left to drive 4 hours (each way) for a haircut?? It seems kind of weird, especially when he just got here the whole point of the visit was to congratulate his dad on being remarried and he just kind of left all of a sudden. I guess I'll find out more when he gets back but I'm not sure if this is really strange? My friend (37M) says it's a red flag that he's vain and of out of touch.
I'm not really sure what to think. Is it a red flag?

2024.06.08 20:37 MeetingBackground188 AITA for kicking my stepmom out of my house?

AITAH for kicking my stepmom out of my house?
Am I the asshole for kicking my stepmom out of my house? My mother and father had a divorce when I was three years old. A year after the divorce my dad got remarried to a woman named Verna who he met through his mother. She was nice at first all up until the wedding. She got mad at me because my father wanted me to be the ring bearer instead of her nephew. Over the years in my childhood she did many things to me and my brother that were just wrong. She would give me and my brother horrible haircuts without my father’s or mother’s permission or buy us clothes we told her we didn’t like.
In my teenage years I had very expensive tropical fish that needed a special tank and heater. I saved up a bunch of money from jobs over the summer and I bought the tank, the heater, the filters, the chemicals, and the fish. I had him for over a year and he was so marvelous. One day, I came home from school and it had turned out Verna found a dish in the cabinet that had a tiny piece of food on it that I missed when she made me do the dishes. Instead of making me do the dish over again or grounding me she decided to pick up my fish tank and go into our backyard and dump the tank out with the fish inside. I was horrified. I didn’t get my fish in time. Verna had squashed my fish with her foot. I was so mad I punched her in the face and left on my bike to a friends house. When I got home, my father was there waiting for me. He was with Verna. What had happened was after I left Verna called my father’s office and told him that I had assaulted her and ran away. My father was fuming. I told him that she was lying, and she had killed my fish in the backyard and that he could go back there for proof. My father had believed me at first and went into the backyard to see this proof. What I found out later was that after I left on my bike, Verna picked up the fish and buried them in the neighbors backyard and had picked up the the tank and the heater and everything and put it in the closet. At this point my father didn’t believe me one bit and he grabbed me by my arm and slapped me across the face. He told me I wasn’t allowed to live with him anymore and that I was going to go live with my mother in the town over.
Eventually, I was fine with it. I packed all my stuff. I said goodbye to my friends and I left for the next town. I was in the town for a few months before my father and Verna begged me to come back because of my brother. He is disabled. It wasn’t common back then. A lot of people didn’t accept him and didn’t know how to take care of him.
I only moved back in because my brother. For the next few years until I graduated high school I had to live in a real life hellhole. Verna would break a vase or a glass or a plate and when my father got home, she would tell him I did it and I would get in trouble for it. Eventually, I graduated high school and my brother was only a few years younger than me at the time. I rented out my own little apartment and I had him move in with me. I wasn’t comfortable leaving him with my father and Verna. when he graduated high school, I decided to take him with me to college several states away.
Anyways a few months ago I found out while my father and Verna were married my father had been emotionally abusing her. My father went to jail and we all found out that Verna had sold the house for a lot of money (since she was broke) to a company who was buying houses to demolish for a new town shopping center. Verna packed her stuff and was hotel surfing for some weeks and was tired of it and all of her family lived all the way in Michigan. Verna thought of me and didn’t even call me or say anything to me for that matter. She knocked on my door and asked if she could spend the night in my guestroom. I told her she could stay for a few hours while I decided if she could stay or not. My guilt got the better of me and I let her stay for about two weeks during this time, she didn’t do anything at all. She refused to do the dishes that she dirtied. She refused to pick up after herself and do her own laundry. She refused to pick up her makeup off my counter, and put her shoes away in her room. She also hurt my brother on accident and hit him in the head with the end of her wine bottle that she had when she broke into my basement and drank most of our wine that was very expensive then proceeded to tell everyone in my house that my brother hurt himself and then used most of our Tylenol because of her hangover from the next morning.
A few nights ago, I decided I was over it and yelled at Verna and told her to get out of my goddamn house. She screamed back at me that it was “technically her house too” because I was “technically her son” she refused to leave, and I threatened to call the police on her. Eventually, she grabbed all of her junk, hopped in her car, and left. I haven’t heard from her, I haven’t seen her anywhere in town, and nobody I know has heard from her. I don’t know if I should really even care if she got hurt or if she’s just planning to leave and look to stay with someone else. She’s treated me and my brother horribly and I don’t appreciate how she treated me over the course of my life but she still is a human and maybe she’s a bad person because of what my father did her, I feel really bad for what I did to her and I kicked her out when I should’ve been there for her, but I also feel like I’m kind of the victim here too. I don’t know if I did the right thing or wrong thing.

2024.06.08 18:53 bee_1209 Insignificant but heartwarming story of our son meeting our hairdresser

We took our 3 month old son to our haircut today. We've been getting our hair cut by the same guy for almost 13 years - since we were 18 years old. He is in his 70s and owns his own shop. As soon as we walked in, I could tell how excited he was. He right away said, "wow it's been so long since I've been around a baby". He told us stories of when his sons were little and his favorite memory was taking them out to breakfast on the weekends. We asked him if he wanted to hold the baby and he said yes. He looked at himself in the mirror and said "look, im holding a baby hah". After we walked out, he came out after us and said "don't forget to take him out to breakfast". It was a really sweet moment and made both of our day 😊

2024.06.08 15:52 BobbyArden Who Killed Jean Ellroy?

Jean Ellory was born Geneva Hilliker in 1915 in Wisconsin. After graduating High School, she moved to Chicago to study nursing. After *that*, she moved to Los Angeles in the late 1930s. She got married in Arizona in 1940, but the marriage was quickly over, and none of Jean’s family ever met her first husband.
In 1947 she married Armand Ellroy, a man who existed on the fringes of Hollywood - he was briefly Rita Hayworth’s manager, and also claimed to have had an affair with her. For her part, Jean claimed she’d seen John Dillinger be killed. Two months pregnant on the day she got married, her son Lee Earle Ellroy, was born in 1948.
Lee would later claim his mother “majored in booze and minored in men.” In 1954, Jean and Armand would divorce, and Lee moved with his mother first to Santa Monica, where she worked at Packard Bell, and then to El Monte, east of Los Angeles.
Though Lee would spend three weekends a month with his father, Armand would apparently watch Lee and Jean in their new home at night.
One Saturday in June 1958, with Lee with his father, Jean went out. She was seen with a blonde woman and a “swarthy man” at the Desert Inn in El Monte. The man may or may not have been Mexican, and only one person there heard him speak: a waitress he ordered coffee from. Later, Jean and the Swarthy Man - but not the Blonde - at Stan’s Drive In. Staff there were supposed to get the license plates of cars, in case they dined and dashed, but in this case, it didn’t happen, and nobody knows who the dark green Oldsmobile they were in belonged to. Neither the Blonde nor the Swarthy Man have ever been identified.
The next morning, Sunday, 22nd June 1958, Jean’s body was found by Little Leaguers outside Arroyo High School. She’d been strangled and her body dumped in bushes about a mile and a half from the Desert Inn.
Armand Ellroy believed his wife had been murdered by the Swarthy Man after turning down a threesome with him and the Blonde, and that’s probably as close as we’ll get to an answer to what happened; Jean was raped and murdered by a man who will never be identified.
Steve Hodel believes that Fred Sexton, a friend of his father, George Hodel, killed Jean, but there’s no evidence they ever met, and I’m wary of Steve Hodel given that he thinks his father killed Elizabeth Short.
There *is* however one connection with the Black Dahlia murder. A few years after Jean’s murder, Armand Ellroy gave his son a copy of the book *The Badge* by Jack Webb, which featured Short’s murder. Attempting to come to terms with the unsolved killing of his mother, the young Ellroy would transfer his feelings onto another Los Angeles unsolved murder. Lee would grow up, change his first name, and write some books about murder, the LAPD and the 1940s and 50s.
Who was the Swarthy Man? Did he kill Jean? Why did the Blonde never come forward? Was she scared? Did the Swarthy Man ever kill again?
Here’s a longer look at the murder https://venetianvase.co.uk/2022/04/16/the-murder-of-jean-ellroy-the-search-for-answers/
And here is an article written by Jean’s son in 1994 https://www.gq.com/story/james-ellroy-murder

2024.06.07 18:00 kaste1 Avengers 5: How the 60+ characters can work

It could work with the right setup through the next projects. In essence, you can have at least 7 different teams, all doing a different vital mission, fighting a different main Kang Variant in a different place.
Cap 4 might start establishing the next Avengers. Carol, Bruce, Shang-chi, and Wong already have meetings. So, Sam with Nick Fury making it official, maybe with the new Falcon, War Machine, Scott Lang, and Hawkeye, in at least a post-credit scene, is a good start. Maybe Star-Lord too.
Thunderbolts will bring together Yelena, Red Guardian, Us Agent, Bucky, Ghost, Taskmaster, and Sentry. This movie will do some heavy lifting of bringing those characters together. They can just be a call away as a team in Avengers 5.
The new Guardians team is ready and formed (Rocket, Groot, Kraglin, Adam Warlock, Cosmo, Phyla, Blurp). All you need is Star-Lord to bring them together with the Avengers as the middleman.
Now, the rest are the hard part and need many projects that we are very likely and rumored to get:
The Marvels started the seeds of Young Avengers (Kamala, Kate Bishop, Cassie Lang). Agatha will continue those seeds with Wiccan and Speed. America Chavez and Iron Heart (that will also get a series) are right there. Also, Skaar. Now the problem is with actually bringing them together. Well, a Young Avengers movie is looong rumored. If we actually get that movie/series before Avengers 5, then, again, you have some heavy lifting of bringing people and a team together. Then, in Avengers 5, they could be asked to "sit this one out" since they are kids, but you can have them go on their own and end up being an important win for humanity with their mission.
Eternals are a big problem. They reeeeally need a sequel, since half of them were abducted (Sersi, Phastos, and Kingo) and Thena, Druig, and Makkari with Eros and Pip are searching for them. It would be a tall order to have a whole subplot in the beginning of an Avengers movie (either 5 or 6) to finish this plotline. So we really need Eternals 2 to happen first. Ikaris can return there too.
In the supernatural corner, we already have Agatha, Elsa Bloodstone, Man-Thing, Werewolf by Night, Black Knight ready to suit up with a visit from Blade, Blade himself is getting a Blade movie, Moon Knight, Scarlet Scarab, and Khonsu. The problem again is "wasting time" bringing them together in an Avengers movie. So, once again, the solution is they get their own team-up movie, Midnight Sons/Suns. Another long-rumored project, with new rumors of it being shot immediately after Blade (starts and) finishes shooting. You can even introduce Ghost Rider there. That way, you have another team on the go ready to tackle a Kang Variant, of course, Rama-Tut.
In the street level corner, we will have soon Spider-man 4, where it's possible Spider-man and Daredevil will team up and Daredevil Born Again, where Punisher and maybe Jessica Jones will return. So, when the time comes in Avengers, they can be seen together bringing also She-Hulk through Daredevil and maybe Luke Cage and Iron Fist? Point is, Spider-man 4 and Born Again can establish those connections for sure.
If we want Hercules, we very obviously need a Thor 4. No time for a subplot of Hercules hunting down Thor in the middle of multiple battles with Kangs. With Thor 4, we can also properly explore the Greek mythology, too and maybe establish Love as an earth-based Young Avenger?
The not officially confirmed but certainly coming Vision Quest series, will continue White Vision's story, so that can certainly make him rejoin the Avengers by the end. Or lead directly to the rumored Scarlet Witch movie, where Wanda can return to sanity, without the Darkhold's control. And as a couple, they can aid in Avengers 5.
The nations and their associate characters can easily be integrated in the main Avengers plotline as with Infinity War. You can have Wakandan armies with Black Panther (Shuri), M'Baku, Okoye, Ayo, Aneka, Nakia, and W'Kabi fighting the good fight on a specific front. Same with Talokan and Namor, Namora, even Attuma, and New Asgard with Valkyrie, Korg, Miek, Sif, and even Axl.
The next ones are pretty much ready:
Some sort of government agencies are going to be there with possible candidates President Ross as Red Hulk, Shield with Fury, CIA with Ross and Valentina.
Loki and the TVA with Ouroboros, Paradox, maybe Mobius can and probably will be there. Bringing of course at least Deadpool and Wolverine in the mix. That is of course all Deadpool & Wolverine's work that we'll see next month.
And finally, Strange and Klea, Monica and her mother, Beast and their X-men are definitely main story material reserved for the main plot of the movie itself.
Fantastic 4, I think, are sitting out Avengers 5. But they are getting their Fantastic Four movie so they have plenty of time to set them up where they need to be. For either 5 or Secret Wars.
So, to sum up, it can work but we need the setup for the main Avengers team from Cap 4, Thor 4, Vision Quest with maybe a Scarlet Witch movie next, and Deadpool 3. Agatha All Along and Young Avengers for a Young Avengers team. Blade and Midnight Suns for the spooky team. Thunderbolts for Thunderbolts. Eternals 2 for Eternals. Born Again and Spider-man 4 for the street-level heroes. Guardians of the Galaxy, Wakanda, Talokan, and the TVA are ready to go. Then, you can have 7 different teams battling different Kangs and doing different missions together with actual armies where need be.
(By the way, that's up to 97 characters already, without the supporting cast, parents, boyfriends, girlfriends, friends, that might show up for a second, and most importantly without any more X-men from the universe Monica is at where the possibilities for an X-men army are limitless, but that's probably for Secret Wars. Also without the villains and the main Kang variants!)
Remember, those movies can work, because they are not just 2 and a half hours out of the blue. They are the season finale of tons and tons of hours of content! We just need the proper setup! Some we'll get for sure. Hoping for most if not all of it!

2024.06.07 14:31 ParticularlyAvocado Legion of Super Heroes Reviewed: Every Episode

1. Man of Tomorrow - 3/5 (Standard pilot setup stuff. In terms of Clark's story, I found it interesting enough. I liked the scenes in Smallville, but once Clark was taken to the future, aside from the good scene of him exploring the Superman Museum, it pretty much becomes character introduction overload. As a result, no Legionnaire is very interesting on their own. Personality-wise, that is. Triplicate Girl's ability was pretty cool in action. And the Fatal Five are just exposition-dumped on us. These guys are the Legion's main baddies, why use them for the pilot so generically? And why exactly did Brainiac 5 retrieve Superman from a time where he wasn't even Superman if the whole reason was that they couldn't take on such ferocious villains?)
2. Timber Wolf - 3/5 (At its core I really dig the idea of this episode. Having the team fight a creature only to find out he's a victim of circumstance who ends up becoming a Legionnaire IS interesting. But they didn't really set Brin up as much of a character. And when they do reveal he is the creature, he doesn't boast much of a personality. There's an attempt here to flesh out Bouncing Boy and Brainiac 5 at least with their banter, but it mostly came off as awkward. Also, did Mar Londo really think all the creatures he had locked up and experimented on were going to obey his command on release?)
3. Legacy - 3/5 (Good gravy does Alexis ever have large freckles. Pepperoni slices. She was a pretty fun antagonist what with her amusingly petty reason for wanting to destroy the Legion. This episode trying to push the idea that the Legion are Superman's BFFs is a bit unearned though, since none of the Legionnaires still don't feel particularly fleshed out. Although this at least remedies that for Brainiac 5 with plenty of good bits. Notably how excited he is to just hang out with Superman. But also complimenting his "league" and calling him for pointless status reports? Starting to think he just recruited Superman because he's gay for him. Also LOL at how dramatically it plays Brainy getting his arm destroyed only to have him easily repair it in the next scene.)
4. Fear Factory - 2/5 (Pretty generic horror parody/face your fears episode. Bouncing Boy gets the bulk of attention here, but I liked the Superman and Brainiac 5 focus of the latter half more. Although I was disappointed by how simple Superman's fear was. Why is Saturn Girl's fear rollercoasters though? She can literally fly, there is NO danger in it for her.)
5. Champions - 3/5 (I was ready to be bored out of my mind when I realized this a sports episode. Then I was slightly more engaged with the Fatal Five attempting to assasinate the U.P. President. Phantom Girl got some time to shine, and I like her dynamic with Superman. Until it became a generic battle where the F5 are easily defeated again. On top of it still juggling the sport stuff throughout the entire episode. These two plots could have been separate episodes of their own. Yeah, a full Galactic Games episode would still suck, but at least this would've been better as a result. "Monkey face" was funny though.)
6. Phantoms - 3/5 (Superman releases a generic villain who is evil because... He's evil. And he hates Superman because... He hates Superman. Riveting stuff there guys, don't get me *too* hooked or anything. I was a bit curious to see where the stuff about Brainiac 5 having hidden kryptonite would go, but it's disposed of and he never even tells Superman about it, so THAT was for nothing. Also Drax directly references that he's mad about what Superman "will" do, which, what? How would have have any way of knowing this guy is the actual Superman from the past? I liked the Legion's use of teamwork to escape the Phantom Zone though, and I think the stuff with Phantom Girl being frustrated with Timber Wolf helping her was kinda fun. There's just too little of it.)
7. Child's Play - 2/5 (This episode pretty much boils down to an Impossible Man ripoff causing trouble. Since this is DC, I guess Mxyzptlk would be the more common comparison, but Zyx's pointy hat and bratty behavior is more reminiscent of Impossible Man. I wasn't into it. But I actually did like the scenes of Phantom Girl dealing with Zerox's bureaucracy. That was genuinely fun. But as usual with this show, if something is engaging, it's always only a small portion of the episode.)
8. Lightning Storm - 2/5 (First episode with a larger focus on being character driven, and they give it to Lightning Lad, the most boring Legionnaire so far. His rivarly with his brother wasn't very engaging in Champions, and it doesn't improve here. It's also a pretty stock "hero leaves his misfit team for a better one until he realizes his true place" story. Breath Boy's scene at the end was funny though.)
9. Brain Drain - 3/5 (With the setup, I was expecting this episode to be quite fun. The genius character becoming a dumbass has potential for good comedy. But the nonsense Brainiac 5 spews out in his Stupid State:tm: isn't very funny at all, just the most boring "LOLRANDOM" stuff you could ever think of. Which I suppose would be fine with the right delivery, but I don't think it's even delivered particularly funny. Timber Wolf playing a larger role is pretty cool given how neglected he has been since his introduction, but... Yeah, he still does not boast much of a personality.)
10. The Substitutes - 4/5 (Pretty good comedy episode. The focus on a team of "lame" heroes alone is funny, although I thought Infectious Lass and Chlorophyll Kid were a bit too unironically lame. The remaining three though, were very funny. Especially Stone Boy, he cracked me up in every scene he was in. Even funnier when the villain, Starfinger, is just as lame as the heroes. Although admittedly he has a pretty cool design. Basically, the episode was just funny. I also liked that Lightning Lad freaked out at the sight of Pete due to their previous interaction. Bouncing Boy being supportive of the Subsitutes due to relating to having lame powers is pretty sweet, but let's be honest, none of them besides Porcupine Pete could be put to much practical use. Then again I'm not sure how useful Matter Eater Lad can be, and he was literally accepted, so yeah.)
11. Chain of Command - 3/5 (Colossal Boy? Who is this? What happened to tryouts? It was literally LAST episode, surely they are not held THAT often. Anyway, for a fairly generic episode, given it's just about the team preventing a big storm, I thought it was good in how it utilized almost every Legionnaire evenly. Sure, that makes it lacking in character story, but it's a decent action episode. There IS the rivarly with Lightning Lad and Cosmic Boy, but as per usual, I do not find whatever Lightning Lad is up to interesting. Also wow are they ever rapidly piling on new members. What is this, Legion of Super Heroes Unlimited? I was curious about Ferro Lad's face given his ominous statement. Too bad we will probably never see it.)
12/13. Sundown - 3/5 (As an epic finale, this is just pretty generic. There's a huge threat that's tough to beat, so they ask the villains for help, then they defeat it. Still weird how insignificantly this series uses the Fatal Five. You can also tell it's a finale because of the bloated cast. Which I get, you want to utilize all the main characters for something like this. But it also has a myriad of completely new randos who just randomly appear in this one with no explanation. Although that has been happening since The Subsitutes. I liked Shrinking Violet I guess. The Bouncing Boy leadership arc felt pretty hurriedly introduced last episode, so it's a bit weird just how much focus it is given here. But it was entertaining enough. The solo Superman stuff was OK, but I did really like it when he grabbed The Controller as he was about to smugly escape, only to threaten him and then TOSS him into his escape portal. Pretty badass moment. Ferro Lad's sacrifice is also pretty badass, themtically speaking, but I hope the writers realized it was never going to be very emotionally effective when he was literally introduced last episode.)
14/15. The Man from the Edge of Tomorrow - 4/5 (So this episode starts with Brainiac 5 having a gay Superman simulation. OK. Also, terrible haircut. He should grow it back. Lightning Lad on the other hand looks better with the new do. Anyway, this was pretty gritty compared to season 1. It has a literal apocalypse, the Legion HQ being destroyed and Triplicate Girl's 1/3rd dying. That's actually incredibly interesting conceptually, but it doesn't hit particularly hard because of what a nothing-character she was for all of season 1, save for the ending when she suddenly became a Bouncing Boy fangirl. This idea should have just been an entire episode, which would remedy that, instead of just having it play a small part in this already bloated one. But I think her connection with Bouncing Boy is pretty cute, so whatever. Speaking of bloated, here's Chameleon Boy. He's pretty much just Beast Boy, but I think the designs of his transformations are cool. However, he's literally just there. They need to quit spamming new characters before they've even fleshed out the initial roster, especially if they aren't even going to give the new ones ceremonious introductions. He's still cooler than Lightning Lad or Timber Wolf though, so if he wants to take their spotlight, be my guest. But I liked Superman X, Matter Eater Lad eating the Eye of Ekron was funny, and the second half with all the heroes and villains fighting in a prison was cool, so ultimately, good episode)
16. Cry Wolf - 3/5 (They sure took their sweet time to expand on Timber Wolf. I wouldn't say it's very interesting, but battling his inner demons is more of a personality than literal nothing, so props for doing the bare minimum. I liked that Phantom Girl was on his side though, since it kind of ties into their interactions in Phantoms. I'm rolling my eyes that they're trying to play Chameleon Boy up as one of his greatest friends though. He literally introduced last episode! Why is Superman X involved in this case though? He's here to take down Imperiex, it is his obsession. Surely he would consider an irrelevant criminal charge of a random Legionnaire a waste of time.)
17. Chained Lightning - 4/5 (For yet another episode about the Lightning Bros, this was surprisingly engaging. Obviously adding a little sister with a tragic backstory is an easy way to tug at the heartstrings, but it also made their rivarly a little more complex than "me hero, you villain, we rivals, grrr!". And Mekt switching sides to help save their sister was cute, so I guess this was worth his previous snoozefest episodes. Lightning Lad losing his arm sure was a thing that happened though. It's just played off like nothing but an upgrade. This is JUST like with Brainiac 5 in season 1.)
18. The Karate Kid - 4/5 (ANOTHER Legion tryout? Sure, just pile on the characters. Nemesis Kid being acceped with open arms but Karate Kid ostracized is pretty absurd. Sure, Nemesis' ability has advantages, but it's very situation-specific. What's he gonna do against villains whos powers are just brute strength, or technology, not some innate ability you can take away? Or threats that are not villains? He'd be just as screwed as Karate Kid. And yet he claims Karate Kid "lacks the powers to defend himself" because he wasn't able to run away from a bomb, which Nemesis Kid was only able to do because he had a flight ring, which is NOT relevant to his power? Give Karate Kid one and he'd be more capable than you, bud. This episode makes pretty good use of Chameleon Boy. It's more of a proper introduction to him. I liked him and Karate Kid as a brief duo. Anyway how would Superman, who's not even from this time, know where an underground fighting tournament is taking place?)
19. Who Am I? - 3/5 (Everything here is at least mildly interesting conceptually, but it fumbles around too much to be engaging. First Chameleon Boy is gonna be an undercover spy. Fun, I like Cham! Then he's gonna be made to think he's Persuader, which kind of ruins the fun of seeing HIM as a spy, but whatever. Then the real Persuader instantly escapes which drums interest back since seeing both have an identity crisis about it would be fun! But no, the Legion retrieves Cham and then it's just about turning him back to normal. And THEN it's about some nothing-villain being a spy disguised as Superman... Yeah. I did enjoy the reveal when he realized he wasn't Superman, but at the end of the day, he was too much of a nothing-character.)
20. Unnatural Alliances - 3/5 (The logistics of K3NT's plan is incredibly convoluted. After Superman X was believed to have failed, their next move was to send back an android in time to assasinate a kid who would grow up to invent the technology Imperiex uses for his armor. What? For starters, if they sent the android back a decade later, the whole moral qualms of harming a kid could've been avoided. But that aside, why couldn't they just send it back to assasinate Imperiex as a child, or change literally ANYTHING else that caused him to become a supervillain? Just free him from slavery. Superman X and Imperiex teaming up was still neat, so whatever.)
21. Message in a Bottle - 3/5 (There's an entire Kryptonian city intact and home to two million? So much for Superman being the last son of Krypton. And you're telling me in his entire lifetime, despite regularly shrinking himself to enter the city, he never discovered a way to unshrink it? Sure, okay. That aside, Superman and Brainiac 5 arguing was pretty interesting, particularly because of their "connected" past I.E. Brainiac and Krypton and all that. Also, fun cameo from the original Brainiac. Corey Burton. Shrinking Violet being HUGE was a pretty funny bit.)
22. In the Beginning - 3/5 (Legion origin episode. Sure, it's fun. I liked seeing the young original trio first meet and such. It's cute. But ultimately it's a bit awkwardly placed in the middle of this Imperiex arc, and I found it unnecessary to have the plot tie into the present. It would have probably been more enjoyable as a full flashback episode, particularly if we got to see how the other original members from s1 first joined. I liked the ending where it tied the Legion oath from the past into the present though.)
23. Trials - 3/5 (Well, for a Zyx episode, it was better than the first attempt. Superman X having to deal with his bratty nonsense is pretty amusing. Those trials were the breeziest challenges in the world, though. Give a monster its eggs, solve a riddle, and run out of a room. Although the third one was supposedly about teamwork, which makes no sense. What if someone goes it alone? Not to mention the only reason it required teamwork was because they took too long to just exit the room. If they were faster, they'd easily walk out without Superman X needing to hold the door.)
24. In Your Dreams - 3/5 (Lightling Lad doesn't trust Dream Girl because she used to...scam people with fake fortunes? Criminals have reformed into heroes for worse offenses than that. Anyway, I didn't care for the batch of characters used here, I mean Star Boy can barely be called one, but it had noticably good action. Especially the scene of the team flying away from a flood of lava, and trying to capture Dream Girl.)
25/26. Dark Victory - 4/5 (Imperiex wants to recruit Brainiac 5 now? Random. Superman X did hint that he had a dark history or whatever in his debut, but it was never acknowledged as something Imperiex desires, so it's a bit awkwardly introduced. Anyway, Imperiex being swiftly killed halfway through despite being built up as the big baddie of the season was pretty funny. Not that that's a bad thing, since Brainiac 5 going nuts is more interesting than some generic evil guy wanting to destroy the universe. Although most of it is still just Brainiac 5 generically wanting to "digitize" the universe, but that was still fun. Especially for the stuff with Brainiac 1.0 inside his head. The shot of Brainy strung up by his own wires was some body horror stuff. Yikes. Did he become human by overriding Brainiac 1.0's data though? What? Aside from that, I suppose the scene with Triplicate Girl's third self coming back was nice, but that was a pretty rushed nothing-arc. It should have been its own episode.)
