Bonjour !
Je viens demander conseil pour ma mère (85 ans). Lundi dernier elle se retrouve enfermée chez elle, serrure bloquée. Elle veut sortir son chien, elle appelle des gens qu'elle connait, indisponibles, le serrurier de son village, ne répond pas après 4 appels. Elle commet alors l'erreur classique : chercher sur google et appeler un des premiers numéros. 2 serruriers arrivent en camionettes, se garent devant la mairie à deux pas. Ils défoncent la serrure, la remplacent et demandent 752 euros. Ils sont pressents pour le paiement par carte, mais n'établissent pas de factures. Il appellent leur secrétaire devant ma mère pour établir la facture, donner les détails. Ma mère règle par carte bleue. Une heure après pas de facture... Elle les appelle, ils répondent ah oui ça arrive. 3 jours plurs tard rien. Elle demande son relevé de compte, le virement est inscrit comme ayant été réalisé pour un electricien Paris 18eme alors qu'elle habite vers Arles... Gendarmerie ce matin : si vous n'avez pas le nom des personnes, pas possible de porter plainte. (lol, plainte contre X non ?) Mairie : on ne garde les video que 10 j, la c'est trop tard (pour avoir la plaque de la camionnette)... Alors que c'était il y a 3 jours.
Bref, que peut-elle faire ? Je lui ai conseillé de retourner porter plainte pour escroquerie, contre X. Ce qui permettra aux enquêteurs de demander à la banque le numéro de compte et l'identité des personnes qui ont reçu son paiment par carte. Suis-je dans l'erreur ? Y a t il une autre démarche à faire ? Sans facture, pas possible de faire jouer l'assurance pour la réparation...

Hi all - I've been using Facebook ads for about 12 months for my novel and it's been really great. No complaints. I've used some of the tips in this video and I'd highly recommend to other authors.
But given my book is set upon Spain's Camino de Santiago, I was wondering if there's a way to target people literally in the towns along the way? Nights in the hotels can be pretty quiet for some, and having a good novel or audiobook about the towns your passing seems attractive to me. The peak season on the trail is approaching.
I've tried it by putting the location of the key towns along the way, and using the language type of English (US) to direct people to Amazon.com - hoping that would work. But the sales haven't been as good as when I just set the location to USA. I've also noticed the people who have liked the ad in Facebook seem to be local Spaniards, not American hikers.
So my questions are:

Are there any tips in getting this demographic? e.g. Americans in those Spanish town at that given time?
Is there a trick to directing Brits to amazon.co.uk and Aussies to amazon.com.au? I felt like the language of English (US) will work for the Americans but unsure on the other countries

Any guidance would be appreciated!

Hi all 👋🏼 I published my second novel about two years ago and I’ve had a really great response - which I’m super thrilled with.
But most of the sales were driven by Facebook ads (and to a lesser extent, Instagram) using the approach outlined in this EXCELLENT video. Would highly recommend.
My book is a love story with adventure and a little time-travel set on the Camino de Santiago. In Facebook I’ve generally targeted readers with an interest in authors such as Poalo Cohlo and Diana Gabaldon, where they own a kindle. But suspecting the Facebook well is running dry (I've had a good run), I thought I’d try Amazon ads once again. I’ve tried them twice before without much success and I’m trying again now. I’ve watched a ton of YouTube videos and am employing a strategy of:

Running an auto, keyword and product campaign, with a view to eventually building a “winning” campaign with the best keywords and products
I’ve added the paperback, not the ebook (everyone seems to suggest this)
I’ve generally kept the daily budget to 10 bucks/pounds
I’ve added somewhere between 50-80 keywords and products each starting at a very low bid of about 20 cents/pents
Each day I find I have very few impressions, so I increase by 10 cents/pence
The impressions have started to rise and I generally don’t spend anywhere near my budget
I get the most impressions on more general keywords like “time travel romance” rather than “camino de Santiago novels”. Presumably these keywords are just more popular?
I’m still increasing the keywords with the most impressions in order to get more clicks. Very few clicks at this stage.

I’ve had two sales in a week and I’m just not sure if I’m doing this right! Do I need to hang in there? Is this a long game? Or should I call it a day?
Any insights or your own experiences would be awesome!

I was asking the friends over at the german pc build sub about the choice of components for my upcoming build. 14900k, 4070ti super etc. Now I've discussed it with some of them and changed my build to this.

Is that a sensible build?
It's gonna get used in gaming, some video editing/rendering and just general multimedia stuff.
1tb nvme is for OS and most important programs. General Storage will be expanded/scrapped from my old computer or bought but not accounted for in here right now.
Honestly surprised that it comes this "cheap", I was and am ready to spend 4000€+500€ AOC 240hz screen.
However not buying a 4090, that gpu with its price doesn't make any sense to me. There are countless monsters builds in this sub that were cheaper than a 4090 go for. Also I doubt I will fully use the potential of the 4090, coming from a background playing counter strike, dota, battlefield and low graphics settings-1080p. Initially had a 4070ti super in the build, might go back to that vs the 4080.
