2024.05.16 13:42 abracadaabruh Long distance relationship to poly?

There's a lot of context to this but basically...
I've been with my partner 9 months (4 months irl, 5 months long distance with 1 trip in between - I am currently solo travelling and volunteering).
When we first got together we agreed on a monogamous relationship but we both agreed with the ideals of polyamory and that love shouldn't be limited to one person for the sake of it, they told me they 'view love anarchistically'.
I've always wondered if I could be poly but had the classic feeling of oh I'd feel less valued and I couldn't imagine my partner with another sexually.
However in the last few months I've come to many realisations, grown as a person, attended workshops on polyamory and feel like I'm in a place where actually I see it as the most logical and natural way to love. We make many connections with others and I feel we should be able to pursue them - where does the boundary between friendship and relationship lie? I also reflected on the attraction and connections I've had with other people which I've ignored whilst in a relationship because I felt guilty and that ' I shouldn't be feeling this and don't want to cross a boundary I've agreed'. I realise these are connections if I'm honest I would have loved to explore. Additionally I feel like I want him to live his life to the fullest and not be restricted by our relationship limiting his interactions with others.
On top of this is the element of the ldr - I am not getting my needs met for physical and emotional intimacy - phonecall can only do so much. So this intensifies the interest in exploring with others. However, we do plan on being together in person when I'm back in 3 months and we are very invested in our future together. The fact I'm experiencing intimacy with others and would like to pursue it more than my monogamous relationship allows, doesn't change that I want to be with him now and in the future.
Concurrently with this we are having issues with the relationship - bad timing and long distance sucks, we are falling into dynamics that aren't enjoyable for either of us. Because of this, I didn't want to bring up opening up the relationship at first. After lots of reflection, I felt the need to, my view of love has changed and for my it feels powerful - whilst at the same time I feel intense guilt for wanting to pursue intimacy in different ways with others.
So.. I brought up the shift in my viewpoint to them. That I want us both to have our needs met (yes I assumed he isn't getting his met either) and make the most of life and the beautiful connections with others we can have. And asked whether they'd be interested in an open relationship.
He responded saying he doesn't want that, he doesn't want to get with anyone else and that he doesn't feel stable enough to deal with any feelings he might have after hearing I've connected with someone in a way that's more than friendship. I asked him if what's stopping him is that he doesn't want me to be with others sexually, he said no it's that he doesn't want to be with others sexually. He also acknowledged that he's not meeting any interesting people but I am because I'm travelling - which i understand but it's not about us doing the same thing, it's about what we need.
Anyway, there's no compromise it seems after discussing. And I'm torn, I seriously do see a future with them and when we are in person my feelings about being poly won't change but obviously the appetite/time/energy for other connections will reduce. Right now I feel a little trapped, I understand his boundary and won't cross it, but it feels a bit like I'm killing myself inside by being restricted in this way. I have met people where I've had such a bond but had to cut off all my desires which hurts - I know to someone monogamous this probably just sounds like I want to fuck lol, but until you've experienced it I'm not sure someone gets it.
I don't want to try and convince him to change his boundary but I worry I'm suppressing my needs and if our ideas of love are so different then it isn't meant to be. He also was very hurt at the fact I suggested opening the relationship, which is hard when I was just trying to communicate my shift in feelings. Additionally as this was shut down plus we're having other difficulties in our dynamic, I suggested a break and they said that's just being poly without telling the other person...
Any advice, reflections or questions to help me come to better understanding welcome... (I also get a rocky relationship isn't a good foundation for opening it up, but I'm stuck)

2024.05.16 13:42 ismailnabilsi Childhood friend texting me out of nowhere and calling me a sh*t person, and telling me I should go f* myself.

So basically, I had a childhood friend texting me out of nowhere and calling me a sht person, telling me I should go f** myself. I truly don't understand what triggered her or what she is going through. A lot of our classmates and friends back then stopped being friends with her and called her crazy, a bad person, self-obsessed, etc. She burned bridges with most of them, made a lot of mistakes, and used to act as the victim, claiming she "forgives them" now. But it was high school, and we were kids; you tend to move on from these things with time, especially when you're 31. It was ironic to me, but I kept her as a friend throughout the years, connecting once or twice a year. We were friends for almost 21 years, since 2003.
Now, to the "juicy stuff." Back in 2004, we were around 10/11 years old. She used to date a lot of guys in school, and it was already known that Karen fooled around. She was relatively good looking, "hot" by high school standards, and everyone had a crush on her. Back then I was a stupid, shy, introverted overweight kid, and was good friends with her. One time, I was out with the guys, and a couple of them started talking about her and how she is a bitch. I said that I know her really well and the that she is actually a slut. I can't remember why, but I think I thought I was being cool just like the other guys. It was a stupid mistake from an 11-year-old kid. Word got out that I said those things about her; she confronted me about it, and I apologized, saying that I didn't mean it. We stopped being friends.
Fast forward 10 years pass by after that incident, and now it's 2013. We were 20/21 years old. I went to Canada to visit my best friend, and she was also living in that same city. We all went out to grab a bite and reminisced about the old days. We also talked about that specific incident, and I apologized from the bottom of my heart. We said that it was 10 years ago, we were kids, and we moved on and even became closer than ever. After that, everything was great, and we talked about our dating lives. I was telling her about my struggling with dating girls and that I get nervous and insecure (which is completely normal for a 20-year-old boy). She used to call me in the middle of the night crying about what her boyfriends used to do to her, and I was there for her. Keep in mind that I wasn't attracted to her at that point, and I didn't consider myself "friend zoned" because she wasn't my type of girl – the depressed and drama all the time type of girl. So, I was just being a good friend and being there for her when she needed me, and vice versa. I texted her and asked her what to do with girls when I needed an opinion.
Fast forward another 9 years pass by. During those years, I heard from another friend that one of our female friends at high school is getting married and Karen called the husband and told him not to marry that girl because she was a slut and she won't be a good wife for him. I was shocked but didn't do anything about it because it wasn't my concern. Throughout those years, she would come to town every 2/3 years. I would go out and see her and catch up. We drifted apart, which is normal for any two friends that live in different countries/time zones, but nothing major happened. We rarely texted and weren't that close anymore.
In 2023, we were 30 years old. She comes to town, and I was about to get married. She texts me and tells me she's in town and would love to see me and meet my fiancée. I told her it would be my pleasure, and we went out for coffee, and she met her. It went fine; she was a bit awkward and seemed miserable and definitely not as good looking as before. Keep in mind that my wife is a physician, and I work at a big 4 accounting firm. She does fitness training and volunteers at a government facility for the veterans, still single, or was seeing someone on and off. I honestly don't think that she got jealous, but I told my fiancée back then that she's a bit weird, and a lot of my friends call her "crazy" till this day.
Now, a year later, last night, she texts me out of nowhere, telling me "you are a sht person," and that she is just speaking her mind. I told her, "excuse me? Where is this coming from?" She said that she just felt like saying it and that she isn't hacked or drunk and completely aware of what she's doing. I told her honestly if you truly feel like that I don't care or don't want to know why since I didn't do anything wrong to her and told her I don't know what she's going on with her and that I wish her the all best in life and truly hope that she's doing fine. She started bringing up that I called her a bitch 20 years ago! And I should go f** myself!! And that after all that she's done to me and standing up to me when some girls made fun of me being overweight and that I was a shy kid and didn't know how to get girls, and that I used her all these years and only connected with her when I wanted or needed anything from her. And she tells me it's karma and to go f*** myself again. I was shocked and told her I'm not going to waste my energy on something in the past, and she shouldn't either, and told her that it was a mistake, and that we talked about it years ago and we moved on, and that we are now grown ups and I'm sure she should know something or two about making mistakes in her past. She said “Oh do I??” And started texting me paragraphs; I didn't read them and told her "wish you all the best in your life, bye" and completely blocked her.
This is high school bs that people move on from, and clearly, she's still hung up on the past and still struggling with all the things that happened to her, not just with my incidents in particular but with everyone from her past. She is clearly ill and going through stuff in her life. And I'm not getting myself into drama and negative energy in this stage of my life. Maybe because she is seeing people from school starting to settle in, having successful lives, and marrying good partners, on the other hand she is still struggling with her life and relationships, and not doing good overall in her life. I told my wife about what happened and told her to be careful if she contacts her and to block her. I'm truly speechless and shocked, but I think I did the right thing because it looks like it's true what everyone was saying about her, that she's a pain in the butt and crazy and negative. I should've cut her off years ago. Even though I was truly sorry to say these things about her, but I was a kid! And wanted to be there for her whenever she needed me. That's crazy!

2024.05.16 13:41 boreddweller SO not putting me and baby before his family

Do not post anywhere else.
I'm so sad I have to come here. If you see my history, you'd be able to tell that I have a huge MIL problem. For context, me and my SO are not married, but have been together for 6.5 years, living together for 6. We have just welcomed home our rainbow baby after a stillbirth 2 years ago.
SO's family are narcissistic, the typical toxic household of entitled and abusive behaviour. He moved out before we met, but only down the road. So they live 2 minutes away. Between our stillborn child and our rainbow baby being born (15 months between them), I saw his family TWICE. I received no messages from them, the contact was once every 7.5 months. Now they feel entitled to see us (or rather our baby) every week or two. This is not okay with me.
SO seemed to have a grip on their behaviour before I got pregnant, so I had no worries. He stood up to them. Now it seems like he has gone backwards and has lost whatever spine he had. I am so disappointed.
I asked him to tell them I won't have visitors for 2 weeks after giving birth. When they did visit, there would be no kissing of the baby. We also would not take unsolicited advice.
He did not communicate this to them. This resulted in his mother hounding his phone when we were still in hospital, demanding information, begging to come and see us, telling us we were being weird and must not be proud of our baby. SO muted her, but only until we got home.
We (I) let them come over when baby was 3 weeks old. Those 3 weeks were full of demands to see her. Oh, I almost forgot, we did walk baby over in the pram so they could see them, when baby was 10 days old. I was still healing from 2nd degree tear. We stayed outside and because MIL didn't get to hold baby, it 'didn't count' as meeting them! This boils my blood and SO said nothing.
We have visited twice more (baby is almost 4 months). They have kissed my baby on all visits, apart from one where SO said they couldn't because of FIL's cough. Well no, that isn't our boundary, it's no kissing at all! It happened quickly all times, and I felt it was SO's place to correct his family. Clearly I was wrong.
MIL demands to hold baby regardless of how baby is. She demands us to take baby to see them. She will ask every week. She makes comments on how long it's been (7 weeks now). SO came home in the week (he works for FIL and does paperwork at their house, where MIL lives) in a horrible mood. He didn't say what was wrong until later on, so I was anxious until then. He says he feels like a d*ck whenever his family ask to see our baby, because he can't give them an answer. I don't know why he can't say no to them. He says because they'll demand an answer. He doesn't know how to grey rock.
The problem is, I have made my feelings clear. It's like he forgets my feelings when he talks to or sees his family. I don't know why he has lost his spine. It's been constant since baby was born, he knows he can't please everyone yet he still feels like he is in the middle. I feel like he should be putting us first.
The final straw was today, when he took baby out to see his Dad who had arrived to pick him up for work. He stood in the road with her talking to him through his van window, then lifted baby up so he could kiss them. I was fuming. He brought baby back to me and I told him off. He said he forgot.
On the weekend, he asked again because MIL asked WHEN she can come over, not IF. He said to baby "I don't know if you'll ever see Grandma again". I left the room. He followed and said "I' doing it again aren't I?".
He knows he is a people pleaser. He knows we should come first. He has lost his spine and I don't know how to get him to grow it again. I feel so unhappy, and angry that my motherhood journey is being ruined.
I don't want to leave him, we are going to be moving away from the area in the next couple of years, not right now due to finances. He knows how toxic they are, and he is training for a new career so he can leave the family business. He's had other interviews they don't know about.
Leaving is the last option, if not only due to the fact I do not want him going over to his family with baby without me there, because he can't protect her.
I feel like his mother's surrogate. I'm not enjoying life here. I need to communicate this to him. Oh, I' m also on antidepressants because of all of this, following my stillbirth and pregnancy after loss. I'm' so tired and disappointed.

2024.05.16 13:40 _Sleepy_Blob_ I wish I could just have a hobby:/

This is going to be long so👍 I've been trying to have hobbies, for a very long time. When I was very young my favorite hobby was writing stories I used to do it constantly, overtime I just got over it. I figured oh well that's normal for kids, their interests are always changing. I tried playing the keyboard, learned a couple of songs then never played. Then I started playing basketball, I ended up only playing with friends at school, and once I did online school I stopped playing. I skate boarded, rollerbladed and rode all kinds of diffrent skate stuff because it was something my mom was into, tho I only did it for her I still call it a hobby because I kept up with it for about 4 years. That stopped as I got lazy and honestly frustrated with it over time. And idk every since that time I've noticed things more.. how complicated things have become for me. I tried working out, only lasted 4 weeks I took a long break then tried it again, but again I didint do it for very long. "I guess I'm just super lazy", so I try to do something creative. Crafts I cant do at all, when I was little I used to be able to, but now when I'm making decorations with family I cant even finish one thing because I'm obsessed with making things perfect, and get genuinely distressed and tired working on things. I tried drawing, and I've hardly done it because again I'm very picky, it's very draining and I hardly have the energy. I feel like I'm missing a big part of me, when people introduce themselves one of the first things they say about are their hobbies. Meanwhile I'm like "Oh uh idk I just kinda do whatever.. funny thing I dont even really know much about myself so..." I've always struggled with defining who I am, even when I was a little kid. I told my mom I wanted to do online school and convinced her I hated in person school because I knew that's what she wanted, I let her pick out clothes for me because I was afraid to be judged. She decorated my room, I told her I liked stitch (from Lilio&Stitch) and I dont even remember the movie💀, when people ask about my goals I cant think of any so I come up with some lame joke "I want to marry a rich man, who can buy me lots of weed", I have no friends because I cant hold relationships, and I'm not doing anything special with my life. Idk who I am... I'm just a person who is just there, I basically feel like a NPC tbh. I have a void inside me that is always just there and I fucking hate it, I want to feel passionate about something, to have something that gives me a sense of identity. I wish I could just do what so many people do so easily, ik as a high schooler I'm not supposed to have things figured out but idk this just seems ridiculous😭. I'm aware this is probadly some mental shit, but due to multiple reasons I cant get diagnosed or any meds or anything so I just get to suffer ig, yay međŸ€·đŸŒâ€â™€ïž

2024.05.16 13:40 Szassszina Ulnar nerve pain

I'm really active person, went to gym 3-4 times a week, occasional swimming and bouldering, lots of cycling and was practising advanced yoga. Disclaimer: I'm working from home and mostly am seated at my desk. Read books a lot/on my phone with my head bent down.
My CT started with pins and needles in the left arm a little more than a year ago during body pump classes when the bar was pressing on my shoulders and when I was deadlifting. Not long after I went to see my first physiotherapist, I started to feel pain in both elbows in July 2023, so I stopped the exercises and got a referral further to see a specialist. We run an EMG, and an MRI test on my neck and left arm, that showed a compressed nerve in my elbow and a little decompression in my neck. ("Early disc osteophyte bars are seen at C4-5 and C5-6 but there is no foraminal narrowing no canal stenosis no involvement of the exiting nerve roots.") I started with another physiotherapist and started hand therapy as well and was put on Gabapentin 300mg once a day.
Nothing seemed to help easing the growing pain in my arms, so I had a nerve release op in January this year on my left arm. At this point my dosage was Gabapentin 300mg 3x/day. The symptomps didn't get much better after the op, but it's slightly more comfortable to sleep with my left arm now. I went back to the gym, recommeded by my physio and doing forearm, upper arm workouts with the cable, trx and crosstrainer. Also I'm able to do pilates and LBT classes which was unimaginable before. So my mental health definitely improved due to these changes.
I recently had another EMG test which showed us that the pain is coming from my neck rather than my elbows. The doctor who did the test has advised me against doing any form of exercises, not even cycling as my neck needs to rest. This also means to me that the surgery was kind of pointless - even though the nerve was so decompressed that it was discoloured according to the surgeon at the time.
So with the hand therapy and the physio we were more focused on my arms, not my neck as that minor compression in the neck was disregarded at the beginning of the treatments. Obviously they both know that the ulnar nerve is originating from my neck, but I feel like everyone was treating me without knowing what was causing the pain, and we can start this all over after half a year. I'm also on Gabepentin 900mg 3x/day as the pain got so bad over time.
Still waiting for my blood test results which could show constant inflamation in my body, that could be another potential source of my pain, but just wanted to ask if any of you had similar cases or have anything that helped you, in terms of exercises or anything at all? I'm going mad with the constant pain as it's affecting my life so much, and tired of hearing different doctors telling me such different ideas on the ideal form of exercise.

Hey guys!
I have an Apple Watch S7 45mm. When I bought it, the battery lasted at least 24 hours. Now after 1 year, the battery is only lasting 4 hours. Battery health is at 88%.
Has anyone experienced this problem?
I've been in contact with Apple for 3 months and they just want to run some diagnostics to find out what's happening with my Apple Watch.
I've looked for all kinds of help on Youtube, Reddit and nothing.

2024.05.16 13:39 JobHunter2 What is Christian Religious Education?

Introduction

Christian religious education is defined as the process where by Christian learning takes place. It often involves “teaching which enables practicing Christians to adopt and deepen their Christian belief, values and dispositions to experience and act in a Christian way. It depends to a greater extent on how this process is adopted and practiced in different churches.

Different practices in Christian education in local churches

At some degree of certainty that all Christian churches have a similar aim’s and practices. The liturgical aspect is of paramount importance in the Trinitarian belief and practices in that it serves as introduction to what Christianity is all about. This is where the process of Cognitive learning takes places it involves the worship service where hymns are sang, lessons extracted from the books of the bible are read, sermon often punctuated with exhortation, admonishment and instruction in righteous living is delivered and prayers are said. It also involves the celebration of the holy Eucharist which Jesus Christ himself, recognized as the head of the church, initiated based on experience acquired in the worship service, it can be seen as Christian religious education is a confessional churchly activity of evangelism, instruction and nurture.

I assure that “Youth are the most critical of all critics when it comes to religion”. Today, common inhabitants do pray and accept the holiness in church for Christ which they are aware that Christ constitutes the sacred bread and wine, but do not entirely act upon worshipping and fail to confront the thoughts and feelings to masses which would spread dignity of godliness among selves. The moral lies in the fact that this creates lackness to reach spiritual beliefs through worship and liturgy resulting in declination the faith which affects the divine nature approaching positivity.
Christian education is a vital important part in youth development. For Christian education to be explored, generation of today should be brought into contact through various practices. In the early centuries, reformers emphasized and trusted true faith and doctrines, to change and reform behaviour as the only solution for salvation in Christian education. Christian school movements prove a challenge as a messenger to convey god’s given mission and honour god.

Traditional approach

This approach was practiced since many decades and is still continued to be practiced which helps in binding and governing the ethics and morality within the religion and belief. Since beginning described, in leaving our homeland to teach the gospels throughout the world through scriptures, god conveyed his message – by sending his son Jesus for us, the Holy Spirit, the Holy Church, and Baptism for building unity.
Christianity consists of three things – Religious faith, way of life and community of mankind towards salvation are most important. The most vital of all belief preached is that there is only one god. The term Christian does not imply on the fact that a Christian should grow up in a Christian community, but precisely accepts Christian faith and belief, follows and leads the path of life on which Jesus walked on and made mankind accept Christian community through involvement and participation physically and mentally, as a result, traditional approach is how the local churches and preachers go about conducting their services. The apostle’s creed was apparently developed to summarize the Christian doctrine for man who baptised himself.

Theological and Biblical approach

This approach is regarded as an abstract discipline which teaches what bible is written. It is the study of god expressing god’s thought. The movement of bible indicates the doctrines to the kerygma to didache, to theological ethics, to revealed truth, to the way of living in Christian community.
God’s salvation to the world, worshipping the holy spirit, baptizing people in the name of god, preaching gospels as the word of god, share Christ’s own body and blood as bread and wine in holy communion, repenting and confessing god’s forgiveness etc are the concepts of theological and biblical foundation to Christian education. Even though mankind is aware but fail to involve due to the increasing evil and greed.
The service is organized to accept the call of god and to love him and others and which aims to gather people to worship him in return allowing him to take control over the world and through his presence spread peace, righteousness, justice, joy and helps in the growth of the life in an individual through increased faith.

Activities organized and performed in different local churches through to these practices

Some churches develop the initiative of the worshippers by confessing their faith in the words of the apostle creed. Each activity is correlated and composes a range of varied elements. Their current activities reflect the lives of an individual and drive them for a purpose through various numbers of activities to attain a better quality of life.
Due to activities, all age group gain variety of skills through many spiritual centred activities. Church acts as an interpreter between god and the worshippers to support in training the composition of these activities which are far more complex to solve a disturbed youth. They have to thereby standardize their curriculum and activities in regards to implement it. Different denominations organize activities to resolve the aim therefore to meet the need of the youth. Curriculum should be more focused than just on providing knowledge.
Activities are necessarily planned to build youth commitment. I believe it is necessary to reach them, i.e. train them to be strong future leaders. They should be kept one step ahead, for their life is very challenging. I believe that the best way to outreach youths mind is to be a youth like them to understand their psychology as it differs from every individual. The same activities do get affected as the youth is choosy and subtle.

Changing activities for tomorrow

Here the question is voiced that, what substantial change can be brought apart from the current activities to eradicate the above upcoming and dynamic problems in nature with respect to behavioural management or of what medication of healing would work out.
I would comment, the activities in the practices should be expanded and conduct likewise programmes workshops on educating purity before marriage, sex, child abuse, exploitation, rape, adultery, adolescence sex, teenage mothers, drugs addiction, aids, and divorce. Workshops, seminars for sex, abuse, peer mentoring, identifying preventive measures instead of curative measures targeting the social, political and the economical factors would be effective for incorporating the overall issues to bring the insight of the good and evil sides of every consequence, discussion on essential real life skills. Our goal is to create “world changers”, inviting the sacrifiers of evil and giving and sharing healthy priorities to save ourselves and the world, before it becomes a terrible fate and a debt for our own selves.
As the world is in unsafe fists of crime, terrorism, corruption, violence, youth have been diverted to a fast-paced and expects instant opportunities. Perhaps, the approaches of these local activities tend to be helpful and may bring positive results but I still feel that there is something missing, to monitor the youth from within. In an article – Practical: The Role of the Full-Time Youth Pastor in the Local Church, by Graeme Codrington, Denomination: Baptist (All), submitted on, May 18, 1997, states that, “In a world that is so busy, and demands so much of all of its inhabitants, young people need a secure environment, where they can experiment and decide who they want to be. They need significant people to be there to help them through this process. They need role models to follow”.
Above statement eventually satisfies the fact that these folks are craving for friendly support socially and for stimulation. Overall factors which conglomerate are peers, parents, teachers, church members and Christian community. All factors rely on one common feature which constitutes leadership. Ironically, most youth do understand the surrounding factors but the factors themselves become tough unknowingly that they can’t quite control the situation which then becomes too late to recover. The task is questioned commonly as what kind of leader a person should be to prove creditability and capability to influence the youth to pursue the direction towards god? In an article again stated by, Graeme Codrington, Denomination: Baptist (All), – Practical: The Role of the Full-Time Youth Pastor in the Local Church, submitted on, May 18, 1997, “Young people are not just “little adults” (cf. Elkind 1984:18). They are complex individuals who are battling to deal with the awesome transformation of their bodies, minds, and emotions. They are in a time of transition and growth, developing from the birthed bundle of potential to a fully integrated, functional member of society. The church is in a unique position to assist in this process”. Church as a role model fosters spiritual growth in every youth making them responsible to participate in Christian faith; she is a sign for an entrance of the god’s kingdom to the world of salvation, repentance, justice and peace to bring equality. She struggles hard and performs her duties wholly and solemnly reminds parents to structure their offspring’s life in Christian formation.
Church members acting as supporters, preach to establish and to promote a platform and share to encourage several types of civic, cultural, religious educational associations. In an article by Arthur Paul Boer – What must a Pastor know? Reflection on Congregational studies defines on writer James Hopewell’s statement saying beyond the embarrassment. “He has also observed that churches are sometimes chagrined by the change of hypocrisy and lament that they cannot measure upto ideals of Christian community”. Writer James Hopewell referred by Arthur Paul Boer notes that Christian leaders are incharge and build a church thereby rise in hypocrites. I observe practically that, though the world is changing, church strategy is also changing in complementing the growth. It still targets the set mission. Even though, somewhere in the corner hypocrites do exist but church leaders aim to find out what is the outcome in the people from the traditional, theological and biblical practices.
Perhaps according my research, I suggest they experiment bringing out good approaches to youth’s growth. Instead of the current activities followed in churches I would want to suggest the approach can be focused to bring in the outcome irrespective to exploration and innovation of ideas and thoughts for internal and external behaviour of an individual related to the surroundings around him, deepening of commitments to the teaching, provide opportunities to analyse socially and theologically and viewing his life in a theological manner. To build a framework of an activity consist of – to have an experience “like us”, to sense new boundaries by exploring new links to every Christian among themselves and to god across social and cultural boundaries.
In addition, exploration and inventive programmes can be executed to judge youth’s spirituality. Daily opportunities resulting in disorientation gets support through mission of god. Integration conceptual activities also can help in building and to capture ‘a born leader’. Church leader serves them as task leaders in the corrosion and freeing the task of a disconnected mind by planning tactics and dividing the burden of other’s through consultation. As the purpose is commitment, to serve the lost, skill based leadership formation training programmes can be organized to develop an effective leader so as to sustain the capability and capacity of the leader to solve the complaints lies in the dimensions of the ability. Workshops on intersections to shape boundaries of an individual and communities through theological and biblical language, symbols, and rituals to attain certain centered objectives.
As growth of globalization is tremendous, these leaders come across and face new opportunities and challenges. I believe they help in building an integral performance in conducting entrepreneurial business-based activities, describing the activities because youth’s mind is business-oriented, therefore the activities are to be structured keeping business in mind involving biblical and theological approaches with the existing resources for a business oriented youth. They tend to produce facilitate management sources to sustain and develop faith and love. When the youth develops a church from within, he will be able to observe and analyse the holistic environment.
The activities require presence of not only church members but also worshippers for youth development in successful implementation of these practices. Some worshippers form in small groups, some large varied to race culture. Arthur Paul Boer also examines simultaneously that when a group of pastors were having service of congregation, one among them exclaimed in deep breath “It showed me I’m not alone”. So often in our churches we berate ourselves for problems we face: not enough men, too few youth, preponderance of a certain race or culture. He is clear with the fact that a single person fails, unity increases strength. We ourselves give birth to a problem and then strive hard to face it because as there are few leaders left to catch a grip to support a large community. Due to less number of youth, less support is achieved to sustain the laws and policies of the church and unable to accomplish god’s mission. It is not only one who contributes but many. Above mentioned statement “It showed me I’m not alone” expresses that each race and culture form their own group; build small churches for their own community within their own boundaries, where god expects togetherness, wholeness. It requires lot of efforts to help small churches grow whereas large church with mass contribution grows as their already exist efforts in large numbers which take over the chained actions for development. Whether single church group or many, big or small, the development is important.
On this contradiction, I would suggest that this also includes that in small group the development is paid more attention and given a close eye, problems are spotted quickly and easily to meet the challenges. No matter how large or small challenges occur, the way we approach it is unique and comprehensive as this brings out effects of development in the youth. Whereas in large it becomes difficult to assist as there are more than one individuals. Due to small groups according to races and culture, differentiation exists. But the important criterion is group commitment and work effort in all sets of practice for congregations in any race or culture for a healthy youth so that to accomplish god’s mission. As a result both objectives are co-related to each other.
To understand the nature of Christian youth it is a very distinguished and a unique phenomenon. Due to the increasing issues of ‘peer pressure’, this has led to the obstruction in the development of youth. There are negative as well as positive aspects of it. Negative aspects influence a weaker mind. It is the most consistent findings revealed in observation. Due to the inquisitive innocence, an innocent becomes a prey of the negative aspect, thereby exploited and develops an evil companionship where he adopts negative qualities and habits. But there is positive aspects as in there are some groups who work towards peer relationship. Here innocent gets an opportunity to identify his fear, weakness and have control over his own power. The peer mentors play the part in organizing programmes to understand the behaviour. They interact with the teens and open lines of communication, build up action plans to change the behaviour by using the discipline skills wherever necessary. As church members play an integrate role, it is a challenge for them to develop the youth and make Christian education reachable to them.
Teachers are responsible preachers. Youth growth depends on a teacher infact they are the true facilitators of our learning, are Baptist figures and true authors of an individual’s life book. They also act as the resource developer and planner setting the curriculum for the healthy growth of an individual, depending how the curriculum is designed with the kind and level of leadership skills to recognize the youth psychology. Parents play a significant role in Christian education. They are the promising leaders which shape up Christianity, infact are the real teachers of Christian education. Parents act as a moral standard and support, therefore can synchronize to their growing youth to be aware from their early hood to gain knowledge in Christian faith and this is done when they themselves too experience a fullness of church.
Misunderstandings and miscommunication between parents and their children are one of the issues which follow breakings in the development of the youth. Due to parent’s own principles, for respect and love of family values often creates harmness to the children’s growth which tempts them to behave against them. Thus youth becomes a totalitarian of his own life by going against the values and ethics and unknowingly gets stucked in the torturous situations. Most Christian youth, fail to act upon the 10 commandments of bible.
I must say, I myself as a youth in my real life experience have observed that the originality of the commandments has changed excessively and replaced with the following:
Thou must worship money
Thou must “lyrically” murder
Thou must have evil possession
Thou must have sex
Thou must enjoy drug addiction
Thou must prosper, worship own self
Thou must not feel guilty
Thou must have no respect for ancestral values
Thou must not serve, sacrifice
Thou must differentiate
Due to the above, youth fails to feel guilty in which guiltness is a part of our conscience creating a false belief system as an obstacle in his maturity and creating structure of his own. Under such circumstances he avoids promoting prayer, sacrifice, grace, redemption, worship and meditation, atonement. Considering money and sex are the only two things reliable to satisfy the needs, creating a limitation and a boundary for establishing personal spiritual growth and development.
In general terms, when the efforts of religious and educational institutions, society lack to perform the planned task for Christian education, a positive approach is expected and constructed to gain knowledge and teaching through parents and teachers. Youth must be aware of guiltiness which is a gift from god to help us in being and doing well.
Still the question is raised in a Journal: Volume 5 Number 4, October 2003 by Author Charlene Tan, “Can Christian teachers and parents teach Christian beliefs without indoctrinating their students and children?”
Yes, they can teach Christian beliefs without indoctrinating their students and children they need to be careful when a child is to be handled as their minds are immature. At times it is difficult to understand them because their way of thinking is varied. Firstly before going to the next process, the first process has to be resolved. As teachers and parents are the role models for the development. In order to develop and understand these three role models should be systematically developed first. Only by abiding this rule, they can achieve the development in child. But the point lies beneath that how teachers and parents can prove themselves as an effective source of development by keeping in mind the relative factor of Child’s mind compatibility and psychology? As there are variations in psychological behavior teachers and parents should be mentally prepared, be changeable and adjustment oriented accordingly.

The political and current affair of the nation is affected by corruption and evilness rationally which gave birth to vivid factors like jealousy, modesty and so on, making human’s built a tendency to mislead the positive factors. The situations have made the teachers adapt those inequalities within them, affecting the surrounding factors. Parents have too due to their increasing self priority created barriers of understanding among their families.
Many people are often drawn towards the attention of the church because of their felt needs and not for spiritual needs.
For instance, it does occur that why the youth is tuned out of his own way? Even in their interaction with their own members it tends to happen with them that they fail to hear a word said to them – stating “I didn’t hear a word you said?”, even though it is obvious that they have said something relating to us. This proves a kind of negligence in contacting the positive mechanism which grows in the back of our minds. Such system blocks all the wanted and useful messages allowing us to hear and see only what our mind tells us to hear and believe. As this tendency is increased in the youth generation, it is creating gaps between a believer and faith of god.
The question is – How? How can we overcome this problem? Youth have themselves developed a capacity in mind to hear only what pleasures them without taking a decision that whether it is false or truth. My query is – How we can bring these groups of youth closer to god? Unconsciously resulting in unexpected calamities and unknowingly they are unable to repent it wisely. Due to this increasing factor, youth can’t get a grip of effective communication and develop themselves internally. Here the parents then enter the scene to play their role.

The main question lies whether the local churches fulfill and meet to mature disciples in Christian education?

As stated above, ‘youth’ are the most critical of all critics when it comes to religion. In this modern era, youth is distracted to church because they are building castles in air due to the unmaterialistic desire. Youth today have focused their vision to crave success and prosperity for their rising life graph; they exploit their own ones due to greed and selfishness. During the primary phase of struggle and hard work, youth craves to achieve prosperity, at the same time, do thank god and accept his involvement for success, but hand in hand, lack to follow the bibles ethics which says to respect others in and with unity. Due to the competition and growth politically, more often youth seem to push the fellow mates and strive to takeover their place. They themselves are unaware that they give birth to exploitation and inequality. And due to inequality, unity is declined, wherein bible does not specify inequality. In a book source, Pastor – “Rick Warren’ – illustrates in his book – The Purpose-Driven Church -“The issue is church health, not church growth!” declares warren. “if your church is healthy, growth will occur naturally. Healthy consistent growth is the result of balancing the five biblical purposes of the church.”
In addition to this he also declares that “If u concentrate on building people, God will build the church”.
I agree at a certain point with the above statement. I herewith would want to magnify on “How would one build a healthy youth for a healthy church”? In this sense I believe that both are co-related with each other. Again the issue arises in my mind ‘How will the church be healthy if the youth is unhealthy?’ The issue can’t be only concentrated on church. For a church to survive, the basic foundation is the youth and for the youth to be saved and attracted the church has to be healthy. In my knowledge it is a ‘Vicious Circle’.
Local churches upto some extent do specifically fulfill the discipleship through the practices and play a great emphasis in fulfilling and conveying the message of god to us, but still lack to read the minds and bring the youth closer to her, for which she has to upgrade her atmospheric appearance with new packages to reach the youth in a new taste due to the competitive modernism which is hovering on the youth.
The latter part can play the best part coz when first falls in place, everything else falls in place, from the beginning to the end, from all angles in all walks of life. Towards a healthy faith, healthy church can turn and seed a growth of spirituality through which mankind will grow spiritually from within thereby causing church growth.
Author Perry G. Down states in his book – “Teaching for spiritual growth” that ‘how can we best enable Christians to grow towards maturity?’ For this question he suggests three key concepts- ministry, believer, and purpose. But my understanding says that these concepts are incomplete somewhere to create a bond in reaching the results because today’s youth is attracted towards the unrealistic worldly matters, but has resulted in declination towards the god’s spiritual growth. The major role connecting these three concepts is commitment and effort. As the church ministry is the foundation pillar, the main aim is how much measure of commitment is valued and given to achieve the target successfully. Mankind is able to commit only when he chooses the right direction in fear and is able but this is unfortunate as the alien world tend to let us unidentify the type of strategies of growth for maturity. By identifying the type of strategies of growth, we can understand the level of growth required towards maturity at which we can be spiritual. Another reason for in growth is fear. As the youth fears to face unexpected problems, the efforts are less and require the hierarchy’s support.
Author Gary C. Newton stated in his book – “Going towards spiritual maturity” quotes the principle that “God is ultimately responsible for all spiritual growth”. The question arises at this point that if god is responsible for everything, what will be the purpose and role of human? I comment that while god supplies the resources like bible, church, Holy Spirit, baptism, it is also our responsibility to supply effort and commitment to utilize those resources and give results to god. In bible, Paul highlights this principle of his personal lifestyle and in his teachings comparing with the example of a soldier or athlete to illustrate the amount of sincerity and efforts. (1 Corinthians 9:24-27), Paul states that “In a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize”. I herewith conclude in a Christian race all runners (ministry, believers, purpose) will fail to get a prize if there is no effort that is commitment from everyone.
Along with the concept of ministry, believer, purpose; effort is also the key concept and it has to be achieved from the youth as well. A healthy youth will gain efforts only when the growth will favour them from within, when the forces of the ministry believers and youth will collide with each other to form a healthy growth.
This will create a mutual relationship between god’s provisional resources and our active involvement in process which is more clearly in Philippians 2:12-13: “Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is god who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose”. This principle is intricate but the application is clear.
If one is to grow towards maturity in Christ then one must cultivate and demonstrate the efforts with passion, Philippians 2:17-18: ” But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you. So you be glad and rejoice with me”.
Therefore the conclusion lies in the above concept, both; effort of the youth along with the work of ministry, believers proves in the healthiness of the church. In the book “Youth At Risk” by Peter Christian Olsen, 2003, he highlights four basic needs which he has clearly created an awareness of the effects that affects the development of youth:
Acceptance – belonging
New beginnings and second chances – forgiveness
Significance – generosity
Freedom – independence
I agree with his confirmation that he examines in deriving the above developmental needs from the provision of the Almighty’s resources as the absence of these needs do intentionally contribute in how they shape the personality, maturity, responsibility and stability of emotions. He emphasizes Christian community in respond to the needs determining that, the resources will be polishing youth through support during the fear and avoid them from destruction. At times the concepts will be foreign, indigestive for youth because unable to realize its importance. Rather the community need not re-interpret or change the language but simplify their thoughts and improve their visionary and understanding by change in structure through a friendly communication by becoming an effective leader to bridge the gap between the church and the youth. Therefore forces and efforts are needed for decision making which is an effective key in respond to ministry believer and purpose for a possibility of a healthy youth to build a healthy church, which will make the church flourish.

Supporting surveys

According to a survey, some findings proved that church fails to answer every question of the youth.

Q.1 In what way and sense is Christian religion, faith and church viewed by today’s modern youth?

Youth of today’s modern era is firm on the point stating that inspiration is lacked in religion; they feel that the world is divided through religion and is the major factor which is affecting the growth. A 17-year-old Jude from Kent says confidently that “He does not agree with the church who talks on subject morality” and is “Overfilled with traditionality”.
Youth pick their ideas which suit their taste through various religious beliefs. There are few in bunch who strongly believe, there exist only single religion which has controlled the truth. Young generation refer to perform all activities as per their own desire which in return less importance to the religious belief are being given, which gives birth to the side effects of the conduct.

Q.2 Why do young crowd feel that Christianity is not a ‘happening’ cultural activity?

An 18-year-old Marcus said that he left church when he was 15 because the teachings did not amuse him and it did not interest him of anything as a youth.
The major quest, a struggle for a religion is to impose an exertion of force of involvement in terms of attraction. I usually attend church service wherein I find young ones missing the services. I kept questioning myself that, where the young crowd has disappeared? Surprisingly the young ones have taken charge for the attendance of the church. In this consequence the church should give priority to change its curriculum and its way of presenting the services with new attractive packages for enhancement.

Q.3 Are the young preachers practicing different approaches in Christianity declining. What are your suggestions?

As the attendance of the youth in church has declined, but on the other hand people practicing approaches are increasing in numbers. The following is revealed through one of the youths that more the deepening are the studies of the bible, more a person becomes a hypocrite of the Christian leadership and unintentionally accepts and performs the lifestyle of the clergy right or wrong at times unknowingly. In such case, the practices are affected and become different from those which are to be precise. Seen are still some true Christian youngsters who are different in their attitude and conduct, but in spite of such difference, they are not involved into the immorality and violence activities with other youths. They present themselves as they are from a different unknown religion, but practice the religion and it

2024.05.16 13:39 Amostheroux City Council and the Militarization of the Bluecoats

One of our PCs has a grudge against the Bluecoats, so I made sure to introduce their project clock (currently 3 out of 8 ticks) in the first downtime session. I told them the Blues were petitioning the city council for military grade equipment. The party jumped on that opportunity, not being overly eager to decide whether they wanted to stick with the Lampblacks who had just been decimated by the Red Sashes.
Their states goal was to gut acquisition bill to only allow for a single shipment to the Blues, calling it a pilot program. We brought in a new Slide PC who is an aide at city hall. My thinking is that an amendment reducing the bill's impact probably wouldn't come from the sponsoring city council member, but instead from a rival. We ended the session on an engagement roll-- it was a desperate result.
  1. Given the "canon" power dynamics outlined on page 287, who is the most interesting to have as the pro-Bluecoat sponsor, and who should the party lean on to stop it? (Bowmore, Cleveland, and Rowan want to remove Strangford house from the council. Dunvil and Penderyn have not yet chosen sides.)
  2. How do you think a ragtag group of bravos with only a single assault score to their name would pull this off? Intimidation might be their normal MO but seems implausible against people so entrenched and powerful. Would they need to do a favor, presumably either by helping remove Strangford from the council or eliminating those who threaten him?
  3. Should the Reconciled or Path of Echoes be introduced? The Whisper would be totally into that, but is currently Lost in their vice so the timing feels off.
  4. What does a desperate starting position look like for this score?
  5. Should this even be a score? That I can't think of a desperate starting position indicates otherwise. Perhaps meeting with the city council person they want to amend the bill should be free play, and whatever skullduggery the city council person asks for in return should be the score. Perhaps amending the bill should have just been a long-term project in downtime.
  6. Would it be more fun to just cut to the party ripping off the shipment? My hangup is that if the Bluecoats get what they ask for, their entire force would be equipped and the scoundrels wouldn't be able to stop that much gear from changing hands.
  7. How would you handle payoffs for the score(s)? Feels less like you'd be awarded coin and more like you'd get favors and assets (for the political maneuvering) or crew upgrades (for ripping off the shipment.) Is it ok to go with my narrative instinct over coin?

2024.05.16 13:39 Viral-conclusionz8 rating yourself with your bare eyes and noting what you have missed is what shape your life opportunities

Rating yourself with your "bare eyes" implies assessing yourself honestly and without any illusions or distortions. It involves taking a critical look at your strengths, weaknesses, achievements, and areas for improvement. When you engage in this type of self-reflection, you can identify patterns in your behavior, recognize missed opportunities, and understand how your actions have influenced your life's trajectory.
By acknowledging what you may have missed or overlooked in the past, you can learn from those experiences and make adjustments to pursue new opportunities in the future. This might involve setting clearer goals, being more proactive in seeking out opportunities, or developing skills that will help you capitalize on potential opportunities when they arise.
Furthermore, by understanding your strengths and weaknesses, you can leverage your strengths to your advantage and work on improving areas where you may be lacking. This self-awareness allows you to make informed decisions about how to allocate your time, energy, and resources in a way that maximizes your chances of success.
Ultimately, the process of rating yourself with your "bare eyes" is about taking ownership of your life and actively shaping your future. It's about learning from past experiences, making intentional choices in the present, and continuously striving to become the best version of yourself. By doing so, you can create opportunities for growth, fulfillment, and success in all aspects of your life.
How to rate yourself for a better version you
Rating yourself involves evaluating various aspects of your life, skills, and characteristics to gain a clearer understanding of your strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. Here are some steps to help you effectively rate yourself:
  1. Identify Areas of Evaluation: Determine which aspects of your life you want to assess. This could include areas such as career, relationships, personal development, health and wellness, hobbies, and emotional well-being.
  2. Set Clear Criteria: Define specific criteria or metrics that you will use to evaluate yourself within each area. For example, if you're assessing your career, you might consider factors such as job satisfaction, performance feedback, skills development, and progress toward your professional goals.
  3. Reflect Honestly: Take time to reflect on your experiences, actions, and outcomes within each area of evaluation. Be honest with yourself about your strengths, weaknesses, achievements, and areas where you may have fallen short.
  4. Consider Feedback: Seek feedback from trusted sources, such as friends, family members, mentors, or colleagues, to gain additional perspectives on your strengths and areas for improvement. Constructive feedback can provide valuable insights that you may not have considered on your own.
  5. Use Rating Scales: Use rating scales or scoring systems to quantify your assessment, if applicable. For example, you might rate yourself on a scale from 1 to 10 for each criterion, with 1 representing low performance and 10 representing high performance.
  6. Compare Against Goals: Evaluate your current performance and progress against any goals or objectives you have set for yourself. Determine whether you are on track to achieve your desired outcomes or if adjustments are needed.
  7. Prioritize Areas for Improvement: Identify the areas where you have the greatest potential for growth or where improvement would have the most significant impact on your overall well-being and success.
  8. Develop Action Plans: Based on your self-assessment, develop action plans to address areas for improvement and capitalize on your strengths. Set specific, achievable goals and outline steps you will take to work toward them.
  9. Track Progress: Regularly monitor your progress and reassess your self-ratings over time. Celebrate your successes and adjust your approach as needed to stay aligned with your goals.
  10. Seek Continuous Improvement: Recognize that self-assessment is an ongoing process and commit to continuous learning, growth, and self-improvement. Be open to feedback, adapt to changes, and strive to become the best version of yourself.
By following these steps, you can conduct a comprehensive self-assessment and gain valuable insights that will help you make informed decisions and progress toward your goals.

2024.05.16 13:37 An3llee Cannot acquire Tax ID

Hello everyone,
I would like to ask for some help with the following matter. I have a problem with Tax Identification number.
I am an exchange student from Czech Republic and study in Köln for few months and also was able to land an internship but the problem is that I need to provide them my Tax ID which I still did not received by post.
I registered with the City during my first week here (first week of April) and was told that I will get all the necessary informations in few weeks (later I found out that for Tax ID is the range of 2 - 6 weeks). So, I told my employer that I should get the number during the first 6 weeks of my stay here but so far nothing came.
As it is already more than the 6 weeks, I have done some googling and found the information that I can after this "waiting time" simply go to Tax office in my city (went to Finanzamt Köln-Ost) and they will get it for me. I made appointment and went there today but to my surprise they didn't issued to me.
I was told that I would need to contact the BZST Bonn to get it. Also they told that I can simply call them or email them (they gave me phone number). Problem is that the phone number was not existing and on BZST Bonn website I found out that they cannot send it to me via email - I can only request new letter online which they will send it to me but would need to wait approximately 4 weeks.
So, my question is, can I just go there and ask directly for it? I tried to find some kind of date registration but nothing came up. I am kinda frustrated from this and do not really know what should I do.
I will appreciate any help with this situation.
Thanks

2024.05.16 13:37 utkarshhomeopathic Exploring Homeopathy: An Alternative Approach to Allergy Treatment

Introduction:

In the realm of alternative medicine, homeopathy stands as a unique and often misunderstood practice. Originating in the late 18th century, homeopathy has garnered both skepticism and praise for its principles and purported effectiveness in treating various ailments, including allergies. In this article, we delve into the fundamentals of homeopathy and explore its mechanisms in addressing allergies.

What is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a holistic system of medicine founded by Samuel Hahnemann in the late 1700s. At its core lies the principle of "like cures like," meaning that a substance that causes symptoms in a healthy person can be used in diluted form to treat similar symptoms in a sick person. This principle is akin to the concept of immunization, where a small dose of a disease triggers the body's natural healing response.

How Does Homeopathy Work for Allergies?

Allergies occur when the immune system overreacts to harmless substances, such as pollen, dust, or certain foods, leading to symptoms like sneezing, itching, or congestion. Homeopathy approaches allergies by stimulating the body's self-healing mechanisms rather than merely suppressing symptoms.
1. Individualized Treatment:
One hallmark of homeopathy is its personalized approach to treatment. Homeopaths conduct thorough consultations to understand the unique symptoms and constitution of each patient. By considering the individual's physical, emotional, and mental state, homeopathic remedies are tailored to address the underlying causes of allergies, not just the symptoms.
2. Dilution and Succussion:
Homeopathic remedies are prepared through a process of dilution and succussion (vigorous shaking). While the dilution renders the original substance virtually undetectable, proponents of homeopathy believe that the essence or energy of the substance is retained. This process is thought to enhance the remedy's therapeutic properties while minimizing any potential side effects.
3. Strengthening the Vital Force:
In homeopathic philosophy, illnesses, including allergies, are believed to stem from an imbalance in the body's vital force or life energy. Homeopathic remedies aim to stimulate and strengthen this vital force, enabling the body to overcome allergic reactions naturally. By addressing the root cause of allergies, rather than just suppressing symptoms, homeopathy seeks to promote long-term healing and resilience.
4. Minimal Side Effects:
One of the perceived benefits of homeopathy is its gentle nature and minimal side effects. Since homeopathic remedies are highly diluted, they are considered safe for use in people of all ages, including infants and pregnant women. This makes homeopathy an attractive option for individuals seeking natural alternatives to conventional allergy treatments, which may carry risks of adverse reactions or dependency.

Conclusion:

While homeopathy remains a subject of debate within the medical community, many people continue to turn to this alternative approach for managing allergies and other health conditions. Whether viewed as a placebo effect or a legitimate therapeutic modality, homeopathy offers a unique perspective on healing that emphasizes individualized care, holistic principles, and the body's innate ability to heal itself. As with any medical treatment, it's essential to consult with qualified practitioners and approach homeopathy with an open mind and critical awareness.

2024.05.16 13:36 Leather_Advantage690 Breastfeeding and Weight loss

Hi there!
I’m 5’1”, CW- 163lbs. I’ve recently started trying to shed the baby weight (I was 145lb when I got pregnant, but had lost about 30lbs from my previous pregnancy). I am still actively breastfeeding every 1-3hours (kiddo loves his milk), although baby does eat 1 meal a day.
I found this useful site that accounts for caloric needs while breastfeeding, but I want to make sure that:
  1. It seems credible/the math seems right in terms of calorie intake- it just kind of blows my mind that I would need 1700 calories a day. That’s what my husband is eating to lose weight đŸ€”
  2. I was wondering what to put in terms of exercise. During the week I am largely sedentary- I work a desk job (although I have a standing desk and spend roughly 4-6hours of my day standing). I have started taking hikes with my kids on the weekends (last hike was 2 miles, 1.25 hours).
  3. My goal weight is ideally 120 or less. How long should I realistically expect it to take to reach that? I want to be realistic here and not set my mind up for failure.
Thank you so much!!

2024.05.16 13:36 Greedy_Visual6710 Update after 3 months

I got my test results back! I did a retest yesterday and I fasted for hrs. I thought my test was at 12 PM so original in my head I’m fasting for 12 hrs turns out it was at 2. I’m not sure if that’s what really made the change. I had trouble cutting certain things from my diet because I do eat meat a lot, dairy and a lot of other things. But I realized if I wanted to live better (I’m 20) I’d have to make changes.
Now I’m not a health expert but this is what I’ve been doing;
  1. I walk a lot now, I even got a mini stepper at home(barely use it tbh😅) but sometimes instead of staying home I’d rather just at least 1k steps.
  2. For breakfast I’d eat oatmeal but I don’t really like the texture so I made them into pancakes and put some honey on top or I’d have avocado toast
  3. I started taking phylum husk 3 days ago but I only took it 2x not then whole tbs just a tiny bit
  4. I rarely eat meat, I’m West Indian so we eat meat a lot but for now? I avoid most meals that have meat instead I make black bean burgers (tbh I don’t really like it but I’m not eating it for the taste jsut to get full) without the eggs and eat it with sourdough or white artisan bread. Or fish with white rice, cucumbers and avocados but before this I was eating homemade chipotle bowls wth chicken daily or vegetable and fruits
  5. Whenever I want something sweet I’d eat Siete churro strips, or for snack I’d have lesser evil popcorn the little bag that got 50 cals.
  6. I also occasionally eat a spoon or 2 of ice cream but not too much
  7. I also apparently didn’t lose any weight I thought weightloss would’ve helped but my weight kind of stayed the same.
  8. I mainly use olive oil but recently the people in my house have been using sunflower and corn I try my best to avoid them
Here what I did and do wrong; Every time I’d go to the doctor and they tell me my cholesterol has gone down a bit I’ve returned back to my bad eating habits. Please don’t do this, I’m trying not to do this myself this time because having high cholesterol gives me so much anxiety and I already have bad anxiety. 2024.05.16 13:35 agentofhermamora We've been doing stuff together ever since our friends moved away and we don't know if we can tolerate making new friends or if we just don't care

This post mentions furries. If you don't like furries, ignore this post.
tl;dr want to make new, physical friends in the local furry community but not sure about it because we've been spending time 'alone' with headmates so much. Host has been a furry for almost 20 yrs and it is very important to her.
About 4 years ago, all of the host's friends moved away or vanished. Before that, she had a lot of friends she would spend her time with. Since then, we've found things to do that don't involve another physical person. The host goes places, like theme parks, and hangs out with the headmates. It's been a lot of fun and we've gotten used to it. We don't mind doing stuff 'alone' any more. In the past, we'd struggle with this and would want a friend with us.
Host is a furry, and wants to get back into the local community. Most of her friends that moved away or vanished were furries, and they would always go to the local meets.
Now they aren't here.
Being a furry is more fun with friends (and safer, because host wants a new fursuit but that isn't a hobby you can do alone safely). There are a lot of local meets, but host is wary of making new furry friends. We have met a LOT of weirdos and unsavory people in the past. We have also made a lot of good friends. Sometimes, the host just doesn't feel like trying to make friends or doesn't want friends. Granted, she DOES have friends, the headmates, and they are as real as anyone else, but sometimes a PHYSICAL friend is nice to have. We have not spent time with an actual physical friend, aside from the friend the host has known since middle school.
It's a bit strange, because the host isn't afraid of people or introverted. She will talk to random people at theme parks with no problem, hang out with them, and then never see them again or think to ask if they want to exchange contact info. We go to theme park events with a national group and enjoy time with other people, but largely enjoy being by ourselves and doing our own thing.
We guess she's just wary of new people or not as interested in new people as she thought.
So we're struggling because we kind of want to do new things in our local community and get involved. But at the same time the host is wary. Host is also an aromantic asexual, and doesn't appreciate people hitting on her or making comments. Furries in the past have done this to her.
We're looking for any advice. Something to give us insight or make us approach this differently.

2024.05.16 13:34 Candid-Reward9677 In Depth EV9 1500 mile Review

Hello everyone,
I thought I would share my thoughts on my Iceberg Green EV9 land, with tow package. Some notes on my settings and car usage: I have all software updates installed, use the car in normal drive mode, and most frequently am using i-pedal regen. I have everything enabled in the car except for digital key and the car charger cable lock. I use a NFC card for unlock, lock, and start. I have throttled at-home AC charging so that my charger maxes out at 30A (or about 7 kw):
What works well/I like:
  1. Efficiency. I am getting 3.0 kWh, at least, and that was in colder winter spring conditions here in the Boston area. The car does demand more energy on the highway (no surprise) but it really sips energy around town. The city driving can be amazingly efficient (3.3 or higher kWh). I do a combo of highway and city driveway.
  2. The heat pump air conditioning system. Heating and cooling is fast, very efficient, and clearly helps to extend range in the winter. I can see high spikes (up to 15kw when I turn on the system), but once the car is to temp, is stay level at 1-2 kw, or less. Very impressive.
  3. Quietness of ride. Compared to my wife's relatively new sienna, this ride is very quiet. Its really nice rot finally have a car that is quiet enough for easy hands free telephone conversation and lower music volume.
  4. The acceleration of the car. Holy mackerel. I have never had an EV before so driving a car this large and heavy that can go 0-60 in 5 seconds is a revelation. And yes, I do floor it very occasionaly and am still getting great efficiency. If you drive it hard all the time, and you will burn thru the energy in battery a lot faster.
  5. Lane centering, self steering, and cruise control (the prob have acronyms but I dont know what they are). Can this car completely self drive? Defeintily not. But it's really nice to take the hands off the wheel for short periods of time. The radar cruise control works really well and will brake well under most circumstances.
  6. The room for 2nd and 3rd row passengers. There is tons of room in the second row, and the 3rd is excellent comparatively to other offerings. If you haul kids, they will be very happy.
  7. The regen settings and the E-GMP platform as a whole. The regen options are amazing. One reason why I get the efficiency I do is I largely am in i-pedal, auto, and low regeneration settings, depending on where I am driving. They clearly put a a lot of thought into how all components of the system should operate together. So far AC charging at home and DC fast charging using EA stations has worked very well. I am very impressed by this platform, although admittedly I dont have a basis for comparison.
  8. The option to use the car is a whole home backup during power outages using the upcoming bi directional chargers. Said chargers haven't been released yet, but using 100kw battery in the car to power certain circuits in a home is a much more elegant idea than dropping 15-25k on a stand alone 10-20kw system. And I bet here in MA I will eventually get paid for allowing the utility to take power from the battery during times of high demand. Love that idea.
  9. The infotainment system. I am coming form a ICE car. The infotainment has so many screens and useful settings. Navigation could be improved, but I am still enjoying the system. The EV menu especially is great, and really helps me to understand really time energy consumption and regeneration. My guess is Tesla does all of this much better, but still, I really like most if it, except for the maps "app" which sucks. I use CarPlay, google maps, and apple maps instead.
  10. the stereo system. Yes it's a little lacking in the base department, but between the lower road noise and decent speakers, I enjoy it, especially the surround mode feature.
  11. The small things. Wireless apple CarPlay, auto high beams, auto windshield wipers, heated/ventilated seats, LED (or LCD?) rearview mirror, passenger talk, and second row sun shades which cover almost the entire window - all work much better than expected. I use all and really appreciate the functionality and ease of use of all of these features.
  12. OTA updates and kia connect in general. Again its sounds like Tesla does all of this better, but I have had 5 updates on the car since purchase. Kia is clearly trying to improve the functionality and reliability of the car via these OTA updates. I also appreciate the features in kia connect, even though they are not mind blowing. I have never had a car that I could pre-air condition before. Its a nice change.
What I Dont like:
  1. As some others on this sub have mentioned the car exhibits is some lateral movement especially at higher speeds when the car goes over bumps. To me, the movement is minor and it doesnt bother me. But when it happens, I am reminded that I am not really driving a sports car. It's a fast SUV.
  2. Not being able to keep the car in I-pedal. Others have mentioned this too. This might be regulator specified though.
  3. Some of the safety features. There are some many it's mind blowing. But I keep my Yakima Exo hitch system on at all times (collapsed) which means I have to disable one feature every time I drive (I must hold down the center console "P" button for three seconds or else the car performs emergency breaking as it thinks its going to hit the EXO).
  4. Not beings able to have all door handles unlock any/everytime a request is sent to the car to unlock a door. I know this is a safety feature, but its annoying that I cant turn it off.
  5. Feeling like enabling my phone as a digital key might significantly reduce battery life. I would like to use this feature, but am more interested in have a reliable car that can fall asleep and give its 12V a break.
Needless to say, I love the car. So long as it continues to be dependable, I will continue to love it.
Hope this is helpful if you are on the fence. I have learned a lot from the sub reddit, and wanted to give back.

2024.05.16 13:34 Pure-Presentation357 How would you workout in 25min at the gym?

Hi👋
Im doing 6 short workouts per week for getting back to working out, just to get my routines etc as it was before injury. Im loving shorter workouts, but Im looking for answers are they any good for hypertrophy?
For eaxample im training my chest 3x/week for total 12 working sets (4 x per workout), and half of those are 100% failure sets. Rep ranges are 6-15. Same method on every muscle group currently. Does this kind of training get you results of any kind? Im getting huge pump and crazy muscle connection, and because I have limited time, I tend to keep resting between sets at minimum.
Workouts lasts 20-25 minutes with one warmup set per muscle, and this is why Im becoming quite addictive for these kind of workouts.
My split is currently:
Chest, back, biceps - 3x/week - 4 x MAX reps each
Legs, shoulders, triceps - 3x/week - 4 x MAX reps each
Any suggestions to my split? Exercises are typical compund movements (squat, bench, row etc.) and progression is currently happening on rep maximums (already max weight on bar at my small gym).
How would you spend your 6 gym days weekly, if you have only 25 minutes each to workout?

2024.05.16 13:31 Tsheeva Let's suppose you become the president, what you will do?

Personally i will:
1) Change the constitution. The new one will be the one made by Sadok Belaid.
2) The political system will be presidential but not authoritarian and more democratic.
3) Separate the three authorities; they won't be a job for the government, but a real authority that controls the presidential authority.
4) Create a constitutional court.
5) Try to have a friendship with Morocco again and to be less friendly with Algeria. You are not my friend when I have an unfair trade index with you. (like with Algeria, Russia, Italy, Turkey, and China)
6) Cancel all economical permissions, privatize all sectors, except military and oil energy, and sell most of the public companies.
7) Minimize the electricity consumption by installing solar panels in every public building.
8) Create a small administrative district where there will be all ministries and remove the interior ministry from Bourguiba boulevard.
9) Give all infrastructure project to private companies and because just a controller.
10) Prioritize and improve the solar energy industry, recycling industry, textile industry, mechanical industry, and electronic industry.
11) Try to make Tunisia the most free, democratic, secular African and Arab country by changing the laws of family, heritage, individual liberties, crimes, women, children, environment, press, etc

What do you think?

2024.05.16 13:31 Viral-conclusionz8 we are all psychotics who look for building precautions and perception over anyone supported our informality dark intentions

it's true that people often seek to understand the motivations behind the actions of those around them, it's important to recognize that not everyone approaches interactions with a mindset of suspicion or paranoia.
Human relationships are nuanced, and individuals may vary in their levels of trust, skepticism, and discernment. Some people may indeed be more cautious or guarded in their interactions, while others may be more trusting or open-hearted. Our past experiences, cultural influences, and personal beliefs can all shape how we perceive the intentions of others.
It's also important to acknowledge that people are capable of both good and bad intentions. While some individuals may act with kindness and sincerity, others may have ulterior motives or engage in harmful behavior. Finding a balance between being cautious and maintaining a sense of trust can be a challenging but necessary aspect of navigating social interactions.
Building healthy relationships involves cultivating empathy, communication, and mutual respect. It's essential to approach interactions with an open mind while also being mindful of any potential risks. Developing strong interpersonal skills, setting boundaries, and seeking support from trusted friends or professionals can all help in navigating the complexities of human relationships.
How we support our informality dark intentions with blames to avoid exposing our pure intentions
It sounds like you're describing a situation where individuals may engage in behaviors with dark intentions but then try to deflect blame or justify their actions in order to avoid exposing their true motivations. This can involve manipulating perceptions or blaming others to avoid accountability for their actions.
There are several ways people might do this:
  1. Gaslighting: This involves manipulating someone into questioning their own reality or perceptions, making it easier for the individual with dark intentions to avoid scrutiny.
  2. Deflection: Instead of addressing their own actions, individuals may deflect blame onto others or external circumstances to avoid taking responsibility.
  3. Playing the victim: Individuals might portray themselves as the victim in a situation to garner sympathy or deflect attention away from their own wrongdoing.
  4. Minimizing or justifying: Downplaying the severity of their actions or providing justifications that make their behavior seem more acceptable can also be tactics used to avoid exposure.
  5. Shifting focus: Redirecting attention away from their own actions by focusing on unrelated issues or creating distractions can also be a way to avoid scrutiny.
However, it's important to remember that such behaviors are often harmful and can erode trust in relationships and communities. Building trust and fostering open communication based on honesty and accountability is essential for maintaining healthy relationships and addressing conflicts constructively.

Red mark on tongue for several weeks
Hi, I (33F, not smoker) have a red mark on my tongue for 3-4 weeks. It is a bit sore and it stings when I eat, but nothing crazy. No bleeding or anything. I went to my dentist, to an ENT, and to my primary care physician, all of whom don’t know what it is. I have an appointment next week with an oral medicine specialist. I am kind of freaking out. Does anyone know what is up with my tongue and how to fix it? Thanks!

2024.05.16 13:31 ashudigiroads01 How Concrete Fibers Improve Durability: A Deep Dive into the Concrete Fiber Market

Concrete is a fundamental building material, known for its versatility and strength. However, traditional concrete is not without its weaknesses, particularly in terms of durability and resistance to cracking. Enter concrete fibers – an innovative solution that significantly enhances the performance and lifespan of concrete structures. As the concrete fiber market continues to grow, it's important to understand how these fibers improve durability and why they are becoming a preferred choice in construction.

Understanding Concrete Fibers

Concrete fibers are small, discrete reinforcing elements that are added to the concrete mix. These fibers can be made from a variety of materials including steel, glass, synthetic polymers (such as polypropylene), and natural fibers. Each type of fiber offers unique benefits, but they all share a common purpose: to improve the structural integrity and longevity of concrete.

How Concrete Fibers Enhance Durability

  1. Crack Control and Reduction: One of the primary benefits of concrete fibers is their ability to control and reduce cracking. As concrete cures and dries, it can shrink, leading to the formation of cracks. These cracks can compromise the structural integrity and appearance of the concrete. Fibers distribute tensile stresses more evenly throughout the concrete, minimizing crack formation and propagation.
  2. Increased Toughness and Flexural Strength: Concrete fibers enhance the toughness and flexural strength of concrete. Toughness is the material's ability to absorb energy and plastically deform without fracturing. Fibers act as a bridge across cracks, allowing the concrete to withstand greater loads and stresses. This makes the concrete more resistant to dynamic loads, impact, and vibration.
  3. Improved Fatigue Resistance: Repeated loading and unloading cycles can cause fatigue in concrete, leading to failure over time. Fibers help in absorbing and redistributing these cyclic loads, thereby improving the fatigue resistance of concrete. This is particularly beneficial for structures like bridges and pavements, which are subjected to continuous traffic loads.
  4. Enhanced Durability in Harsh Environments: Structures exposed to aggressive environmental conditions, such as freeze-thaw cycles, chemical attack, and abrasion, benefit greatly from fiber reinforcement. Fibers provide an added layer of defense against these deteriorative forces, extending the service life of the concrete.

The Growing Concrete Fiber Market

The global concrete fiber market has been experiencing significant growth, driven by the rising demand for durable and high-performance construction materials. According to market research, the concrete fiber market is projected to grow at a robust rate in the coming years. Factors contributing to this growth include:

Conclusion

Concrete fibers represent a significant advancement in construction technology, offering a simple yet highly effective solution to improving the durability of concrete structures. As the concrete fiber market continues to expand, driven by the need for more resilient and sustainable building materials, the adoption of fiber-reinforced concrete is set to become a standard practice in the industry. Whether it's for controlling cracks, enhancing toughness, or ensuring long-term performance in harsh environments, concrete fibers are proving to be an indispensable component in modern construction.

2024.05.16 13:31 Afraid_Trash217 Stared at liquor in the grocery store but didn't buy any

Tbh this whole thing is pretty silly but i feel like sharing it somewhere and none of my friends know ab my drinking
Two things, where I'm at alcohol is in every shop, and there is this one chain in particular that seemingly doesn't care for sorting. It's just about impossible to find all the products of the same kind in the same place, they're instead situated in different places in the store in a system akin to an easteregg hunt. That of course goes for alcohol too, which you'll usually find in 3-4 places at least.
Now I know this, not my first time on the rodeo there, but went in anyway since i was on a walk and thought I might as well check if they have eggs on sale. And guess what, there it was. Just two kinds of bottles in a seemingly random place, I felt like one of those cobras being lured in by a flute. Worst part? It was the best deal I've seen in a while. And you know my stupid ass who's drank shitty white rum with juice way too many times due to economic reasons was hooked.
I found two other places with way bigger selections where i felt like a kid in the toy isle. Almost folded at the limoncello bottle as that was the first bottle i drank alone and it felt nostalgic.
In the end i got to my senses and walked away because:
a) the logical part of my brain is telling me i wouldn't even feel different if I had liquor in me. Apperantly if you drink from morning to night for an extended period of time there are concequences who would've thought.
b) there is still a part of me convinced not drinking is easy and i don't really have a problem therefore it shouldn't be hard to just walk away. Or stay sober for a whole week for once that'd be golden
No moral to this story other than i am a bit of a dumbass for getting myself to this point anyway :p

2024.05.16 13:30 veernad [Partially Lost] Half-Life and Counter-Strike closed Beta from 2000

This post is kind of a continuation of my previous one about the lost Team Fortress Classic (TFC) Beta, which, to my surprise, was found (thanks to u/Admirable-Diver3176). There i already mentioned that Valve had another similar incident, that happened in 2000. Specifically, I am referring to Robin Walker's answer from the IRC chat/interview with fans, which was posted on the PlanetFortress website. There were speculations that this was about a canceled game called "Team Fortress 2: Brotherhood of Arms", but I don't think that's true, at least I haven't found any confirmation of it. However, I think I have found out what it really was about.
We can assume that chat took place around May 31st, 2000. At that time, Valve was conducting a closed beta test for the long-awaited major update to Half-Life. From May 25th onwards, several messages appeared in newsgroups about the files with updates for HL, TFC and new version of Counter-Strike have been leaked. There was also one message that revealing the background behind this incident, which seems to be what NextWish and Walker were referring to.
These files were available online, and I even found a video where someone played that particular CS version (the author of the video no longer has it). As you may have guessed, these files have been lost too. We're talking about these two files in particular:
\There is also a mention of file “cstrike_b65_final.zip”*
These files have the same filenames as the official releases from June 8th, 2000, but they differ from the official ones. This can be seen in the difference in file sizes, as well as in the fact that the updates were delayed due to a bug. That means that the old files are different from those we have now.
If you still have these files or know where to find them, please leave a comment or contact me.
P.S. I'm also looking for a rare, early beta build of Day of Defeat: Source. u/Rentgens posted about that earlier here.
